@brightlotusmoon @errorfreak88 Part 3 of my bay/rise crossover.
Leonardo didn't know where he was, and frankly he wasn’t sure he cared. He was more concerned about not knowing where April and Splinter and Donatello and Raphael were. His brothers— his family! He had reached out to them, felt his fingers brush against Splinters, and then they were being pulled apart again. Pulled away from each other. Then Leonardo was flying out of the rift, clinging with all his might to the only one he had managed to protect. Michelangelo. He landed hard, skipping across metal with solid thuds like a rock on water as he clung to the box turtle’s shell, his baby brother still hiding within. The bouncing eventually turned into a slide that brought Leonardo to crash against a wall. Pain shot through his extremities, but it only made him hold on to Michelangelo even tighter.
The minute they stopped, Michelangelo popped out his shell with a sharp yipe, his arms shooting out and wrapping around Leonardo to cling to him like a security blanket. Leonardo couldn’t help but smile and rubbed the younger mutants head in a comforting motion.
“It’s okay, hermano. Just a little bit of a bumpy ride.”
Michelangelo whimpered and his nose went back into his shell.
“Oh come on! Don’t be like that!”
Michelangelo pulled his arms and legs back in as well.
“Awww, come on~” Leonardo pushed himself away from the wall to lean over Michelangelo and peek into the shell as his shadowed face. “You know you wanna come out!”
“Where is out?” Michelangelo asked, his voice carrying a strange echo.
“Er…” Leonardo looked around. He didn't recognize the place, a giant metal ball with a spiraling floor design and a high ceiling, a blinking light at the top of it. He hummed and narrowed his eyes at the luring draw of the light, but didn't acknowledge it Past that. “Pokeball?”
“What? No we’re not!”
“Well how you gonna know if you don’t come out?”
Leonardo smirked and leaned back to give Michelangelo enough space to emerge. Michelangelo peeked his nose out once more.
“That’s it! Just a little more!” Leonardo encouraged.
Michelangelo’s full head poked out, and his neck too so he could look around at their surroundings. “Woah. This is so cool!”
“Cool isn’t exactly the word I’d use.” Leonardo whistled and stood up, reaching for his sword naturally. It was nowhere on his body.
“Hey uh— you don’t happen to have your yoyo, do you Miguel?”
“Um…” Michelangelo reached to his belt and frowned. “No. It’s gone somewhere… do you have your swords?”
“No.”
The structure gave a powerful groan and Michelangelo yelped, attaching himself to Leonardo’s side like glue. “It’s spooky here…”
Leonardo would be lying if he said that a similar anxiety hadn’t grown in his gut the moment they entered this strange place. Cold, dark, mechanical— everything Donatello loved, except without the eccentric nature. But he couldn’t be scared now. He has Michelangelo to look after, and right now his baby brother needed him.
“Hey hey hey, don’t get soft on me now!” Leonardo beamed, leaning down to Michelangelo’s level. “We just escaped the mother-freaking Shredder and you’re scared of a dingy little metal ball?”
“It’s not very little, Leo…”
Leonardo scoffed and waved a hand dismissively. “Potato potahto! Tomato tomatoh! Shredder, Giant Metal Ball of Doom! What’s the difference?”
Michelangelo didn't answer.
“The only one I can think of is that Shredder was waaaay scarier!”
“Oh really?”
Both turtles froze at the new voice. Leonardo gently placed his brother down, keeping an arm still wrapped around him to keep them both close.
“Well? What are you waiting for?” The new voice laughed in a mocking, wheezing tone, “Turn around.”
Leonardo could see no other option other than to obey. He gave Michelangelo a reassuring pat and held his brother just a little tighter before turning to face whoever it was that had called out to them.
The creature was big, a body near as broad as Raphael’s carapace and a shape that was loosely spherical. It’s entire body gleamed with a layer of slime that oozed out from folds on the sides of it’s head, and every so often a tentacle would reach up to gather the accumulating mucus and spread it throughout its body to keep itself moist. There was a crown on its head, a ridge higher than the rest of its body that slightly resembled the crown of certain dinosaurs. Leonardo could almost swear that whatever it was, was the brain of some massive creature, escaped from its body to do whatever it is that giant, tentacle-having brains do.
“Well?” The creature stroked feelers on it’s face, what could pass as lips parting to reveal tiny, dolphin-like teeth.
Leonardo only allowed himself enough time to blink before he forced his smile to come back and meet the strangers smirk. “Well what?”
The creature lunged forward, supported by pipes that extended out from the misproportioned battle suit, bringing it within inches of touching Leonardo. “Aren’t you scared?”
“Scared of what? A chewed up wad of bubble gum that gained sentience?”
It growled and one of its tentacles came down upon Leonardo, covering him in the thick, viscous coating of it’s body.
“Oh I’m sorry! Did I get some slime on you?”
Leonardo didn't flinch. He reached out a hand and poked the creature on the nose. “It is not slime, it is mucus!”
It growled and swatted Leonardo before pulling back again closer to its suit. “Who said you could touch me with your foul, disease-ridden hands?!”
“Hey hey hey!” Leonardo threw his hands up in surrender, “I bathe regularly! It’s Raphael you gotta look out for.”
“You think you’re funny, do you?” It squinted its eye at Leonardo.
“I think I’m adorable. Don’t you?” Leonardo put his hands under his chin and batted his eyes.
“I think you’re an obnoxious freak of nature. It tried to draw forth a violent reaction, but Leonardo remained cool.
“Eh, aren’t we all?” Leonardo shrugged, “But this obnoxious freak of nature has a name. Do you?”
The creature seemed to consider Leonardo’s question for a moment before saying, “It’s Krang.”
Leonardo snickered.
“What?” Krang snapped, almost defensively, “What’s so funny?”
“Sorry— sorry!” Leonardo almost keeled over laughing.
“What’s so funny— what’s so funny, it’s just my name!”
“It’s just— ahahaha— did your mom hate you or something?”
Michelangelo started to finally get in on the laughing, and soon both brothers were almost falling over.
“I chose my own name— the Queen doesn’t have time to name all of us!” Krang defended, grunting as its features scrunched up.
“So you’re saying you have a face not even a mother could love?” Leonardo smirked, recovering from his laughter at will. “Man, that is depressing!”
“ENOUGH!” Krang shot two wired pipes forward to grab Michelangelo and Leonardo, squeezing them harshly. “Now you listen here, little turtles! I am not in the mood for games.” It’s eyes glanced between the brothers in an almost alien way, “And if all you’re going to do is play with me, then I’m going to put you away in my toybox.”
“Sounds fun!” Michelangelo piped.
“Fun?” Krang shifted to look at Michelangelo.
“Yeah! In a big box with a whole bunch of other people, having slumber parties every night!” Michelangelo hummed and sighed.
“Well, I’m glad you’re going to enjoy yourself. It’s an extended stay.”
Krang shifted slightly, its armor suit slow and topheavy, and at the press of a button on the suit the floor began to open up and reveal a spiraling display case. Rows upon rows of small, frozen containers. A thick layer of frosty smoke escaped through the opening and filtered out through vents. Krang hung the two brothers over the drop and loosened his grip just to feel the fear of his prisoners. Looking down into the endless abyss of bodies distorted by frost and age, Leonardo felt a sense of vertigo overtake him. It seemed Krang latched onto the fear almost immediately, judging by the evil expression on its face.
“Not so eager to visit the other toys now, are you?” Krang laughed and pulled Michelangelo and Leonardo back over solid ground, putting them down as the ground closed once more. “Now maybe you’ll play nicely.”
“Where are my brothers?” Leonardo demanded, “My family?”
“They’re fine. They were spit out somewhere or other. Does it really matter?”
“Yes.” Leonardo snarled.
“Hmm…” Krang rubbed their folds in concentration, “Then why don’t we make a deal, little turtle?”
“What kinda deal?” Leonardo returned to hugging his brother as Michelangelo cowered against him.
“I didn't just call you here to chat.”
“Well you’re sure doing a lot of talking anyway.” Leonardo grumbled under his breath.
“I brought you here for a far more important reason.” It folded its tentacles over its mouth.
“Care to share with the class?”
Krang huffed. “You have something that interests me— or more like had. You see, a year ago today I tried to take over the earth.”
Leonardo laughed. “Didn't do a good job— you didn't even make the news! I’m sure I would know if there was a broadcast about a giant brain in a robot suit tried to take over the planet.”
“Not your earth. A different earth.”
“There’s more than one?” Michelangelo asked.
“Oh, there is a plethora of earths, all slightly different from the last! But yours… intrigues me. It’s one of the more recent ones, and the use of your ‘mystic magic’ caught my attention.” Krang circled Leonardo like a cat with a mouse, “The way you teleport around with such ease, even without a beacon to guide you~”
“Spit it out, Gellatinous, I haven’t got all day.”
“You’re very impatient for someone whose at the mercy of one far smarter.”
“Eh, I can handle Donnie, but that has nothing to do with this.” Leonardo snarked off, “What do you want?”
“I have you, and I have your family, and I have your sword.”
“Great. And what does that have to do with the price of jelly doughnuts?”
“I want you to show me how to use the magic you possess, and afterwards I will let you and your brothers go back on your merry way!”
“I thought you were all knowing or whatever.”
“I never claimed that. I too need to learn like every creature does.”
“How do we know you’re not lying about letting us go?” Michelangelo pouted, sticking out his lip.
“Do I look like the lying type to you?”
“Yes.” Michelangelo and Leonardo said as one.
“Mm. Clever boys. Well, the answer is that you don’t know. But you don’t really have many choices either.”
“Mm. Fair.” Leonardo shrugged. “Whatchu need me to show you?”
“How to activate the rift that you’ve seemed to master.” Krang tapped its tentacles together.
“Oh that’s easy! You just take the sword and go woosh woosh,” Leonardo made vague gesture, “Then it goes all whoooooo whaaaaa bwaaaaa!” He made a motion of a rift opening. “Then you go all ‘take me so and so’ and badda bing badda boom, you’re done! That work?” Leonardo clicked his tongue and wink.
“What.” Krang narrowed his eyes.
“Well, you take the pointy part and go whish woosh, then slish slash, hundred yard dash, and you’re in Paris!”
“I— I don’t understand what you’re saying!”
“Well you take the thing and do the thing so it makes a thing then you go through the thing and bam: the thing is done! Take a break and get yourself a pizza for your hard work.”
“You’re getting on my nerves.”
“Exactly how many nerves does a brain have anyway?”
“I’M NOT A BRAIN I’M AN UTROM!”
“A who-trom?” Michelangelo tilted his head.
“AN UTROM!”
“You-tron?” Leonardo asked with a smirk.
“GRRR— just show me how to do it!” Krang pulled Leonardo’s sword out of thin air and dropped it into Leonardo’s hands. “And don’t think you can outsmart me!”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, K-Pop.” Leonardo took the sword and pointed it, dragging it to make a circle. His face illuminated the glow and he smiled.
“Yes!” Krang cheered, smilingly widely and holding out its tentacles to Leonardo. “Give it to me!”
“Yeeeeah, no.” Leonardo stared a moment and then winked before stepping through the blue and disappearing along with the mystic portal.
“NO!” Krang launched himself forward and grabbed at the space where the turtles had once been, “GET BACK HERE!”

tobi, virgo, i offer the 5/8 socket i stole from work that somehow manages to fit every random bolt i need to turn
Oh my god I LOVE this offering lmao like a modern skeleton key!! Frickin cool, dude. Also this is cute because one of my nicknames is Tobi (short for October lmao) and I'm also a virgo!!
Alright, let's do this reading! Just like the other energy reading I did, I am exploring three different "depths" or "layers" of your energy! Remember, these layers are not clearly defined shells, but are more like patches in your energy that interact with the energy around you in deeper or less deep ways.
Keep in mind that I am expressing the experiences I have with working with your energy off of my personal beliefs about energy, the energetic body, and the way energy works! It's okay if not everything resonates, but I hope most of it does! Feedback is always awesome!
Layer One (Outermost energy, the layer that is first to interact with the environment around you)
This is a highly sensory layer of energy, as it is the first part of your energy to come into contact with your surroundings. This part of your energy acts as a feeler to help guide you through each new environment you enter or person you encounter.
I saw in this portion of your energy a shape that reminded me of two overlapping half triangles that sort of looked like mountains, but they were very simple lines, no detail or anything. Just an upside down V with a smaller one behind it peeking out from behind it. This shape then took the form of a white colored pencil, sort of dull, with a feeling of frustration and deep sighs behind it. Then it shifted to a peachy-orange sort of braided fabric belt that flicked itself just out of sight once I noticed it. There is the presence of an animal here as well, they seem to be sort of running. It feels like a cat, but it's a bit far away to tell for sure, its shape isn't clearly defined. There is also a waste paper bin, just a small basic circular one that sits underneath a desk, which has a lamp on it. I also keep seeing visions of a sailboat.
Layer Two (Middle energy, the layer that is directed by your intuition and the way you subconsciously or passively interact with the environement around you)
This layer of your energy is a bit more subtle. It is the assessor or the observer. It 'sees' what the first layer of your energy has sensed and places it into a category of 'safe' or 'not safe' (or some variation of this).
This layer takes on the appearance of a piece of dark green jade. I also got a vision of smoky quartz, but it was very strange. It was a long point, not a totally black smoky quartz but rather a very lightly tinted brown smoky that was sort of see-through, facing in the direction of the sun. Inside of the smoky quartz running towards the sun where the point of the stone was facing were two people, smiling and laughing as they run away from some sort of town that appears within the stone. The scene is not clear, and all looks like a mirage in sepia and brown tones that match the inside of the stone. There is a desire to run away, to go somewhere else, to not be alone and to be safe and loved. Everything is pointing you that way.
Layer Three (Innermost core, the layer that absorbs the energy from the environment around you and shapes the way you internalize your surroundings)
This part of your energy comes into contact with the energy that your second layer of energy has deemed 'safe'. This energy is then allowed to penetrate into your deepest layer, intermingling and rejoining with your innermost self. Usually the energy that lingers here is that from your previous conscious lives, particularly energy that has permeated lifetimes. It is usually why we are quick to trust certain people even after knowing them after, what we assume, is a very short period of time. Their energies are familiar to us, therefore deemed as 'safe' very quickly, and we are faster to open up to them.
Images of an elephant and a turtle both appeared in my mind's eye after a few moments of diving a little deeper. Then I saw and came to recognize a red bell pepper being de-seeded by hand. This is a caring act that took precious time, and the love dripping from this small moment was overwhelming. It quickly morphed into a strawberry shared between a kiss, which became a teardrop carefully preserved and revered. The feeling attached to this singular tear is still very strongly held to it, and I myself felt a severe amount of respect and solemnity when it appeared. Next a child's handprint seemed to come out from the core energy of your heart, reaching up and opening gently, such a small hand. It revealed a butterfly of muted colors of blue. yellow and pink as it flew out of the outstretched palm. Quickly flitting in front of it was a dragonfly with a soft gradient across its wings of dulled pink, blue and purple. Immediately following this was a bee, not a bumblebee, but rather a worker bee. It buzzed its wings and walked crookedly around. Everything in this part of your energy felt up close and personal, a desperate need for intimacy, acknowledgment, and closeness. The craving to be touched and to be near a beloved was palpable.
I hope you like your reading!! Let me know what you thought of it!

Unicron Hunting: Resurrection
Megatron is brought back to life.
There’s angry shouting.
Smokescreen and Bumblebee escort Megatron to get repairs, hauling the corpse of the herald Soundwave with them. Prowl and the living Soundwave remain behind, with the reliquary.
Time to tend to their wounds—physical or psychological.
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 9:17 PM
And thus lay the empty shell of the slave of Unicron, a husk of a warlord now so much dead metal. The planet, once ravaged by the terrors of dark energon, was eerily still. It was as if Cybertron itself was trying to catch its breath after a thorough beating.
Only the sound of a ground bridge cycling to life broke the still.
Smokescreen - Yesterday at 9:27 PM
Smokescreen comes through as quickly as he can, though is slowed by a frame he is carrying along with him. Smokescreen is practically clinging to the frame, ready to protect the frame if need be.
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 9:28 PM
Bee's quick to follow. "Is he dead?! What happened?"
Soundwave - Yesterday at 9:41 PM
The bird twins hover over Megatron's body, trapping it in a cage of feelers so the only part of Megatron that's accessible to the smaller mechs is the portion of chest nearest his spark. Buzzsaw whirs quietly, his wings already activated to serve as an extra deterrent. Whatever they're going to do to had better be exactly what they'd said it would be, or else someone's losing vital pieces.
Ravage sits next to Soundwave, his audio dishes flattened back and fangs bared, ready to leap at and savage anyone who dares get too close. Soundwave himself is focused mostly on his dead alternate's grey husk, prepared to do the same if it defies expectations and moves so much as a finger.
The other three are stood near-ish to Prowl. Whichever twin is red today is hugging Soundwave's severed arm. The blue one keeps glancing over at Prowl, concerned by his posture and lack of speech. Zori just stands guard, much bigger than normal, pincers and stinger at the ready.
[[He is dead.]] Soundwave's mental voice sounds like he's forcing it to be still. Little wavers creep into it here and there. [[We forced Unicron into an ancient containment unit. All that he was - and did - is gone.]]
Prowl - Yesterday at 9:44 PM
Prowl lets go of his reliquary long enough to rap on it with his knuckles—THIS ancient containment unit—but otherwise doesn't reply, and doesn't acknowledge the new arrivals. His gaze is fixed somewhere near Megatron's husk, half expecting it to jump up and shove the birds in its mouth.
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 9:48 PM
"What'd it DO to him?!" Bee's immediately shaken to near tears at Megatron's physical state. It looks like Unicron ripped him apart down to the chassis and just slapped him back together again and used rust for glue. "We- I-" He turns to Smokescreen. "Do you think he'll be okay if we put his spark back in him when he looks like that?"
Soundwave - Yesterday at 9:53 PM
[[He doesn't know.]] And frankly, he was still furious enough with Megatron and his alternate (and by extension, himself) for making any of this possible that he didn't much care either. [[You do not have a choice. It will take too long to return him to normal. Corrosion will set in.]] A pause while his gaze briefly flicked away from his alternate and over to Megatron. [[More.]]
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 9:57 PM
"AAAGH!" That has him fumbling for the spark crystal, nearly dropping it twice in a blind panic, before jumping onto Megatron's chest as much as he can fit and moving plates around to fit the little sphere into its spark housing. It falls into place so plainly, like skiball almost, that Bee almost feels bad the moment slipped out of his fingers... literally. It should have been more important? Maybe? More... explosiony?
Megatron - Yesterday at 10:12 PM
The crystal is warmer than it has been, perhaps a little brighter. The scarred spark within flickers as it's slotted into place, fading a little as what minute energy it has spreads through the spark chamber, lighting biolights and reactivating components. The frame shudders before relaxing again, fans spinning lazily. The lights behind his optics glow faintly before they close, a groan escaping from deep in his chest.
He can't remember the last time he was so exhausted...
Prowl - Yesterday at 10:15 PM
At the first sign of motion in Megatron's corpse, Prowl scrambles to his feet and automatically gets into a fighting position, fists raised and knees bent, the heel of one foot pressed against the wall. He at least still has enough presence of mind not to go any farther than that.
Soundwave - Yesterday at 10:26 PM
Prowl isn't the only one to react. Ravage hisses, Soundwave flinches, Zori clacks a pincer in warning, and Laserbeak - poor, poor Laserbeak, who has experienced too many of her companions' deaths and had to be pinned down when Soundwave passed out because she wouldn't stop screaming in fear of her carrier going to join them - accidentally gives Megatron a small electric shock before she realizes it's him and not Unicron again.
Smokescreen - Yesterday at 10:28 PM
Smokescreen pauses, nodding, before shrugging, "I've got no idea- I hope so, though."
Smokescreen's soon setting Soundwave down, coming to Megatron's side as Bee puts the crystal in, trying to see if he's okay- "Bee, do you have any energon for him? Maybe that'll help him get back to normal! Megatron! Can you hear me? Are you okay? There's no Unicron bits still in you, right?"
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 10:29 PM
"YEAH I've got energon!" He pulls out one of his emergency snacks, just a little energon goodie. "Can you online your optics? Can you feel all your systems? What's the last thing you remember?"
Megatron - Yesterday at 10:43 PM
Loud. It's too loud, who in the Pit is is making so much noise? The shock barely registers, some sort of dull pain, but as his sensors recalibrate, it becomes obvious that something is on top of him. He starts to recognize voices, putting together sentences. Smokescreen, Bumblebee... Primus, why can't he move?
Slowly, his optics open, still duller than they should be, but a clear ice blue.
"Bumblebee..." His voice is hoarse, everything hurts. No, he's too tired to hurt. His optics seem to have trouble staying online. "Smokescreen..." And Laserbeak and... Buzzsaw. Isn't he dead? They all look too small, and he still can't move. "Why...? What's going on, have I... been offline?"
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 10:46 PM
He bawls. "You WERE! You pulled the Void card! It killed you and Unicron had your body and Soundwave was under his control and I was scared!"
He throws himself down on Megatron's chest to hug him and sob. It hurts and it's over, it's all finally over.
Smokescreen - Yesterday at 10:49 PM
"Megatron, you were in a crystal! And we went to this place, and Unicron took over your body, and- you're okay now, and-"
Smokescreen is squeezing Megatron's arm, trying to reassure him that he's okay, "Are you feeling okay? Do you need more to eat or anything? I have some stuff to talk about- but I'm sorry- I think after all the Unicron stuff, and some stress to his frame, Soundwave's... I'm sorry, Megatron. We're going to get you and his frame back to the med-bay, will that work out?"
Soundwave - Yesterday at 11:09 PM
The birds reluctantly let go of Megatron, finally convinced that he's not going to sprout more rust and spines and eat everyone and everything in the room, and fly over to Soundwave. Neither can dock right now, as part of their frames would hit the damaged shoulder and cause him pain, so they just settle on the ground nearby, blocking him in on three sides with Ravage's help.
He vents in disgust at all the questions. Listen to them, caring so much about one who threw himself to the Unmaker. They're lucky he's too tired to take advantage of their inattentiveness to drop the wretched corpse into a smelter.
Prowl - Yesterday at 11:13 PM
Prowl lowers his fists, just a little, but he can't quite pull himself out of his battle ready posture. When he looks at Megatron his HUD still highlights the million little places where Unicron made him wrong. Acid rises in his throat, lapping at the back of his tongue.
Megatron - Yesterday at 11:18 PM
"Unicron...?" So the worst outcome, that thing he had been avoiding all this time, despite everything, had come to pass. He had died, and the Chaosbringer had used him. Wait. He couldn't hear him anymore. No more whispers in the back of his mind, and the leaden feeling in his lines was from his lack. "You... defeated him?" He was free!
And Bee was crying, Smokescreen rambling something about Soundwave. He tries to lift his arm to drape it across Bee's back, only succeeding in bending his elbow just enough to rest his servo beside the minibot on his chest. His frame feels... wrong somehow, but he can't place why. Soundwave. It comes back to him suddenly, the meeting in the tunnels, the card, feeling himself removed.
Growling, he tilts his helm, finding Soundwave surrounded by his minis. Heavily damaged. Behind him, a white mech stands, looking terrified and ready to fight. This cuts the growl right away. He had done that, he knew it. Was that the taste in his mouth, the traitor's oil? Megatron turns away again. "I'm sorry for... causing so much concern."
Smokescreen - Yesterday at 11:25 PM
"I didn't, really- Sounds and that guy over there did. I'm just glad you're back to yourself. We don't even have to worry about Unicron anymore! We'll be able to get the allspark no problem! I can see about getting a repair crew for you. ... And probably a repair crew for this part of Cybertron, too." Smokescreen's finally taking the matrix off from his neck, hiding it in his subspace to hopefully never take out again.
Smokescreen takes a step away, already starting to make a few calls to get the medbay ready for a heavily damaged Megatron. He's making a point of calling near the deceased Soundwave's frame, in case anyone gets any ideas.
Prowl - Yesterday at 11:31 PM
"Con— Con-cern?!" The acid boils over his tongue.
He doesn't sound quite right, like a computer that's only barely been programmed to speak but is trying to skip straight to shouting. "You—nearly killed him." He points at Soundwave. "You almost—let HIM" he kicks Unicron's reliquary, "—destroy Cybertron. Destroy it! You! By f-fragging around with CHAOS GOD blood! Do you want to apologize? Do you MEAN it? Apologize to Cybertron— Apologize to your people. For what you almost did—HAVE done—to THEIR planet. You—You made YOURSELF into the BIGGEST threat that YOUR people face—and—and—and you call yourself their leader. You dare."
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 11:33 PM
Bee holds himself over Megatron's spark chamber, comming his friend. :: Don't listen to them, that's just the shock talking. Let's get you and Soundwave home. ::
Soundwave - Yesterday at 11:41 PM
Soundwave refuses to look at Megatron. He isn't interested in seeing this so-called concern he's sure the mech has plastered on his warped, misshapen face for everyone to see . Hmph! As if a simple apology could erase years of stupidity and poor choices. As if one could nearly become the death of Cybertron and everyone on it and just - just excuse and absolve themselves with a single polite apology. He sees no reason to accept it, or to even pretend he will. If he's still being forced to come to grips with the enormity of the actions he took during the war, there's no way in this or any other reality he's going to allow Megatron off that lightly.
Prowl's sudden speech draws his attention instead. Part of him worries over the sound of Prowl's voice and whether or not this is the prelude to crumbling in public. Part of him wants to find the loudest clip of applause he has and play it back. A third wants to kiss him for daring to read Megatron - Megatron! - the riot act, and still another screams at him to take Prowl and run while they can escape with their lives more or less intact.
He does nothing but sit, though his lights brighten some as the rant carries on.
Smokescreen - Yesterday at 11:46 PM
Smokescreen finally finishes his call to the medbay, though he's still watching over the deceased Soundwave's frame. He's looking away, but is smiling just a bit. Prowl was actually right- this entire event- it was so worrying, and stressful, and Megatron really did need to hear that, Smokescreen felt. He's going to have to ask Soundwave to thank Prowl for it later.
For now, Smokescreen's looking over at Bee, comming him, ::I got the medbay ready- we can bring them there, so they can monitor him and help him stabilize. And- and maybe there's something they can do for Soundwave?::
Bumblebee - Yesterday at 11:49 PM
:: How do we get him out of here? I don't think he can walk, and we can't carry him. :: Bee's been on the receiving end of those long, self-flagellating thoughts from Megatron before. The words aren't anything new to him, but he's insulted by the idea that they all think it's something he's never thought about before. He holds on tighter. Fine then. It's he's going to be the devil's advocate, then so be it.
April 25, 2018
Smokescreen - Today at 12:07 AM
::I think we might be able to get him out together. He can't be that much heavier than Optimus, right? I can call and get some more bots to help out. That's probably the smarter idea.:: And just like that, Smokescreen starts to make a call, though it may take a few more moments for bots to get to the bridge and arrive to help carry Megatron out. Smokescreen's trying to think of any sort of cover story for what just happened. Maybe a fragged up acid storm? But everyone probably heard Unicron... Maybe the truth is the best option.
Megatron - Today at 12:08 AM
Ah. So it's Prowl. That righteous indignation is immediately recognizable no matter the frame. But barring the sudden recognition, Megatron is taken aback by the outburst. None of it was anything that he hadn't told himself at some point since his victory, but to hear it literally spat at him with such vitriol... He stares, wide-eyed, unable and unwilling to argue despite the way his optics slide into their trademark glare. He had been the cause of this, it was all his fault and it could have been so much worse... but he was also the only one who could make it right again. This Prowl will be remembered. He certainly feels more awake now.
Awake enough to realize that Bee had just now referred not to this Soundwave, but to his conjunx. Pistons straining in protest, Megatron tries to sit up, knowing even before he sees the frame why Soundwave isn't knelt beside him in relief, too. His helm bows, and even though he's mostly upright now of his own accord, the mangled warlord feels even weaker than he had when he couldn't move. A deep grief slips out from the cracks of his tightly wound field, but he doesn't let it show on his face, continuing to glare now at the ground.
"I did dare, and it cost me... everything. It has already been decided... that Cybertron will decide my part in its future. Unable to alter the past either... I will not atone for my past by begging forgiveness. I will do so by taking action." Megatron's wrecked helm lifts back to glare daggers at Prowl. "That is how change is made to matter."
Prowl - Today at 12:14 AM
Prowl glowers at Megatron, trying to work some sort of reply into words. He used up what most of what few he had at his disposal shouting at Megatron for his idiocy.
But after a long moment, he nods once, sharply, and snaps, "Damn straight." He'd far rather see Megatron dead than trying to atone; but if he HAD to atone, it had to be through actions rather than words.
And with that, he sinks to sit on the floor, back sliding against the wall, to drop his hand protectively over the reliquary again.
Bumblebee - Today at 12:16 AM
Bee huffs and hauls one of Megatron's arms onto his shoulders with a big heave of effort. "I'm glad your back. Let's go home."
Soundwave - Today at 12:09 PM
The taste of grief and the hesitation in Megatron's response call to Soundwave from across the room, pulling his focus away from the internal echoes of Prowl's furious outburst. So the old fool's promising to mend his ways, is he? Talking about loss and prices paid, as if he knows a damn thing about any of that. Megatron dares to claim he understands what "everything" means when he wasn't even there to experience it himself, locked neatly and safely away in some distant room, or cupboard, or wherever it was Smokescreen and Bumblebee found that crystal.
Maybe someone who knows what "everything" actually is should show him the truth. Someone who couldn't scream and claw at their spark when it cracked open again and again and again because their Lord would have discarded them for showing weakness. Someone who ALSO made the mistake of stealing a fragment of a god and now teeters on the edge of their own awful realization, only managing to delay the inevitable collapse because they'd rather die than let Megatron witness it. They should sear it into Megatron's spark for all eternity, so he'll never, ever forget why he made these promises.
If it also happens to please the cruel, hateful side of them that wants to see Megatron suffer the way they and everyone else have? Unexpected perk.
Soundwave sends a single private text message with the misleading title "Personal Guidelines, Subject: Atonement" in the hopes it will encourage Megatron to examine the contents.
If he does, he'll see and hear Soundwave and Ravage's memories of the earlier encounter with the late Herald. They contain all of the alternate's furious screeching and all of his broken sobbing. All of the pain and anger shoved at Ravage. Every whispered "I killed him". No distraught sound or uncertain action proves too small to share or too dull to jab in and twist between Megatron's emotional seams.
May every single nanosecond of it haunt Megatron until the day he finally, truly dies.
Megatron - Today at 10:02 PM
Megatron very pointedly does not want to hear the traitor's opinion on how he can fix this mess. Nothing can fix this and he's fairly certain they know that. He doesn't want to move for how much effort it takes, for how much he's loathe to explain any part of this to medics, but more than that he doesn't want to stay here. Here, he's faced with accusations he can do nothing but agree with, reminding him of everything that's gone wrong, not to mention the faces of once-beloved ghosts glaring at him from either side of Soundwave. He can't look Rumble or Frenzy in the eye.
It takes him several tries to get close to standing, but he knows he has to; the pair of Autobots can't carry him and the other two certainly won't help. With no other choice, Megatron snarls, hauling his misshapen frame to its pedes.  He stands there, collecting strength he doesn't have.
"...Thank you, for what it's worth." He addresses everyone present, familiar and not, too much of his spark in it. He too finds a comm channel to the medbay.
::Singer. Clear the room.:: He's in no shape to explain why.
Prowl - Today at 10:06 PM
Prowl flinches when Megatron lurches upright, fingers convulsing on top of the reliquary. Then he stills again.
Smokescreen - Today at 10:11 PM
As Megatron starts standing, Smokescreen goes back over to help him up, trying to give him some support, in case he needs help staying up. He'll have to come back for Soundwave's frame once Megatron is safely inside. But it doesn't seem like the living Soundwave would have any plans to destroy the body handy, so Smokescreen figures it'll be okay.
Bumblebee - Today at 10:13 PM
Bee slides down to the ground, and while Megatron makes his slow march into the bridge, he keeps an optic on Prowl and Soundwave. His face speaks volumes. No funny business. Not another word. That's enough out of both of you.
But it looks like Smokescreen can't make it through the portal with both the big bots. He gives Megatron's leg a little pat and moves his vigil to Soundwave's body. He'll stand guard until he can be collected.
Soundwave - Today at 10:16 PM
Oh, he has plenty of plans he could enact. But Bee is still standing there, and he doesn't want to leave Prowl alone right now, so quiet sitting it is.
Bumblebee - Today at 10:17 PM
"I'm pickin' you two for my soccer team, someday."
Soundwave - Today at 10:18 PM
[[...What.]]
Prowl - Today at 10:18 PM
No acknowledgment.
Bumblebee - Today at 10:18 PM
"You're really good at kicking things when they're down."
Prowl - Today at 10:19 PM
Even more no acknowledgment.
Bumblebee - Today at 10:20 PM
"Some big fraggin' heroes you two turned out to be." Bee crosses his arms. "Because you two have carte blanche to hurl any insult, any verbal abuse, any spare bit of hate you have at my friend because's he's the bad guy. Because it's okay, he deserves it."
He huffs. "Thanks for the help saving the planet, I'll forever remember the both of you as the mechs who insulted my friend, told me you'd kill his husband, treated me like I was stupid, and did it all for the good of Cybertron." He tosses his head at Prowl. "Real good Autobot there." And to Soundwave. "Great example to set for your deployers."
Soundwave - Today at 10:39 PM
Soundwave ignores the joke he doesn't quite get in favor of addressing the actual meat of the complaint being served. [[Remember this however you wish. He never claimed to be a hero, or kind, or a friend to your friends. He did what was necessary. It was never about anything else.]]
He glances around to his deployers with the optic sensors on one feeler, still watching his alternate's frame.
[[And his deployers know who he is. The majority of them would have done the same. Or worse.]]
Megatron - Today at 10:42 PM
Megatron doesn't turn around, he can't. Part of him cheers Bumblebee on, part of him wishes he would take their side. They're right, it's his decisions that led them all here. Bee is right, he's just woken up to find all of his worst fears realized. He starts shaking, stumbling as the bridge opens. "Don't leave him there with them," he whispers to Smokescreen. "Please." Whether he's referring to Bee or his conjunx's frame is unclear.
Smokescreen - Today at 10:47 PM
Seeing Megatron this weak... A few years ago, he would've been happy to see that. Now, it's reminding him of Optimus. Close to joining the well, worried about the others more than himself... Smokescreen's grip on Megatron tightens.
"What about you, though? Are you gonna be okay?" Smokescreen's trying to keep him stable, whispering as Smokescreen starts leading him towards the bridge. "I'm gonna get you into berth, and then me, Bee, and Sounds will be here, too. Don't worry. Bee's pretty  tough, you know. And he won't let anything happen to our Sounds."
Bumblebee - Today at 11:16 PM
Bee stands, watching, until he's collected. Prowl and that other Soundwave don't get another look, and with that, the ordeal's finally, really over.
Megatron - Today at 11:21 PM
"Heh... I know he is..." Limping through the swirling vortex, he has to stop a few times to keep from falling to... is there even a floor inside a ground bridge? Either way, he can't keep from shaking, from the strain of keeping himself from going limp.  Okay? What an inane question...
Finally with Smokescreen's help, and soon after the medic's, Megatron makes it through the bridge, ordering it to remain open for a while longer. Singer, the vehicon surgeon, is doing his best not to gawk at the horror his leader has become, falling into the analytics of his trade. Megatron refuses to lay on a berth, using both servos to cling to the side of one until everything stops spinning, or until Bee and Smokescreen and... everyone is near. Whichever comes first.
Smokescreen - Today at 11:25 PM
As soon as Megatron's sitting, Smokescreen's giving him a pat on the shoulder, before running back out to go for Bee and Soundwave, waving at Bee, "He's in there, safe and sound. Let's get Soundwave next and hope everything'll turn out okay." Smokescreen's going over to Soundwave's frame, lifting him up, but waiting for Bee before he starts moving.
Bumblebee - Today at 11:30 PM
Bee's at his side and through the bridge with him.

19. Favorite boss fight?
Oh geez it’s gotta be Jenova Synthesis.
Tumblr media
First of all because it’s the coolest looking one and there’s a lot you could read into about its appearance, and that sucks since it’s so hard to find good pictures of it:
In addition to having the best boss theme in the game unique to it and the fact that she appears to have swapped out the eyenipples for a megalabia, this is the closest we actually get to seeing Jenova’s true form, crippled and fragmented as it is, like that scene at the end of The Thing where it’s just a bunch of bits cobbled together with no real cohesion at having lost so much of its bodymass and having had to quickly rebuild. The Cetra it assimilated is still latched onto there like a boat figurehead, though much of it’s gone by now, and there’s a gaping hole where the reproductive organs would have been.. Underneath it’s fallopian feeler things are a bunch of eyes, while it’s “face” doesn’t seem to have much in the way of features at all. The rest of it is a mess of parts covering the front of this spherical shell (I have this pet theory that Jenova’s true body is Meteor). It’s basically the idea of “female primate mammal” as interpreted by a space parasite, and interpreted badly at this stage. The mask still seems to be up, but the handprints of the entity that made it are well embedded in the clay.
Also it gets the coolest battle screen, at the core of the Planet where it’s been presumably gorging itself and trying to regenerate all the chunks you’ve lopped off of it at this stage, while all Sephiroth gets is... something? I dunno it’s a FF final boss so the “where the hell are we fighting” aspect is up for debate by that point. But this is the first and only time you really confront Jenova as its own entity, I think.
Unfortunately, if you want to get Sephiroth up to his highest difficulty you have to use Knights of the Round on Jenova, turning what should have been a moderately difficult endgame dragon fight into a one-turn shitshow.
I guess on its own merits as a boss fight Jenova Synthesis isn’t actually all that good but god fucking dammit I love this thing’s design and its music and the whole aesthetic about it.
27. Best easter eggs?
I know I like to talk about all the secret cut content that didn’t make it into the game properly but can still be datamined out, but I don’t know if that technically qualifies as an easter egg if it’s not accessible in the game proper without hacking.
A lot of the good ones are at the Golden Saucer -- if you ride the roller coaster with Cloud as the party leader post disc 2 (when he remembers his motion sickness and claustrophobia) there’s a chance he’ll be sick and throw up afterwards. I feel like there was another ride he throws up on too but I can’t remember, it’s been a while.
Probably the best one, and one that I’m still angry over that it got retconned to this day, is the fact that My Bloody Valentine and their album Loveless is canonically a thing on the Planet.
Tumblr media
I dunno, the contrast is just funny to me. And at least it didn’t feel as gross as the Panasonic P900iV did from the movie. It was a fun gag that they turned into some big dumb contrived plot device with Genesis’s Livejournal poetry.
Tumblr media
Also, this. Does anyone recognise what this is from? This looks like album art too but it’s not My Bloody Valentine from what I can tell. The lady in the top left sort of looks like that girl from Parasite Eve.
“VELVET VOIX”  is found graffiti’d on a few walls in this game as well. A resistance group that preceeded Avalanche? A gang? Who knows?
(Note: Do not google Velvet Voix like I did to see if it’s another band. It’s not a band, and you’ll also get a lot of Tifa porn.)
There’s a lot I could say about all of these posters. The rich amount of detail put into all the pre-rendered backgrounds in this game, especially in the slums is still intriguing after all this time, and anyone with the misfortune of being in the same discord group as I am knows I’ve spent hours analysing every last bit of detail on all these posters.

Different Types of Mechanical Measuring Tools and Gauges Used on Ships
Machinery onboard ships require regular care and maintenance so that their working life and efficiency can be increased, and the cost of operation, which includes unnecessary breakdowns and spares, can be reduced. For different types of machinery and systems, various measuring tools, instruments and gauges are used on a ship.
Measuring instruments and gauges are used to measure various parameters such as clearance, diameter, depth, ovality, trueness, etc. These are critical engineering parameters, which describe the condition of the working machinery.
Below, we have compiled a list of mechanical measuring instruments and mechanical gauges which are extensively used on the ship for the recording of different parameters.
Popular mechanical gauges and tools used on ships:
There are many instruments, tools and gauges which are used on a daily basis onboard ship for measurement, fault finding, wear down etc.
Following are the essential tools, gauges and mechanical instruments and their uses:

Popular mechanical gauges and tools used on ships are:
Ruler and scales
They are used to measure lengths and other geometrical parameters. This tool is one of the most famous measuring instruments in mechanical engineering. They can be a single steel plate or a flexible tape type tool. They are usually available in the measuring scale of inch or cm.
They are used for quick measurement of parts and always kept with other measuring gauge or tools in the workshop for handy access. The ruler and scales are not used where precise measurement is required. It is made from stainless steel which is durable and will not rust or corrode.

Calipers
They are usually of two types- inside and outside calliper. They are used to measure internal and external size (e.g. diameter) of an object. It requires an external scale to compare the measured value. This tool is used on those surface where a straight ruler scale cannot be used. After measuring the body/ part, the opening of the calliper mouth is kept against the ruler to measure the length or diameter.
Some callipers are integrated with a measuring scale; hence there is no need of other measuring instruments to check the measured length. Other types are odd leg and divider calliper.
Vernier Caliper
It is counted in the list of quality measuring instruments, which are used to measure small parameters with high accuracy. It has got two different jaws to measure outside and inside dimensions of an object. It can be a scale, dial or digital type Vernier calliper. Vernier calliper is one of the most used mechanical measuring tools onboard ship.
Least count of the vernier calliper is the difference between the values of main scale division and one vernier scale division.
Least Count= Value of one main scale division – Value of one vernier scale division.
= 1 mm – 9/10 mm = 1 mm – 0.9 mm = 0.1 mm or 0.01 cm
Micrometer
It is an excellent precision tool which is used to measure small parameters and is much more accurate than the vernier calliper. The micrometre size can vary from small to large. The large micrometre calliper is used to measure large outside diameter or distance. E.g. Large micrometre is used as a special mechanical measuring tool for main engine to record the outer diameter of the piston rod.
They are available in two types- Inside micrometre (to measure inside diameter) and Outside micrometre (for measuring outside diameter).
The Least count of the micrometre is 0.01 mm or 0.001cm.

Feeler gauge
Feelers gauges are a bunch of fine thickened steel strips of different thickness bundled together. The thickness of each strip is marked on the surface of the strip. The feeler gauge is used to measure the clearance or gap width between surface and bearings.
E.g. The feeler gauge is widely used to measure piston ring clearance, engine bearing cleaner, tappet clearance etc.

Telescopic Feeler Gauge
Similar to the functionality of feeler gauge, this type of gauge is also known as tongue gauge, and it consists of long feeler gauge inside a cover with tongue or curved edge.
The long feeler strips protrude out of the cover like a telescope so that it can be inserted into remote places where feeler gauge access is not possible. E.g. It is used to measure the bearing clearance of the top shell.
It is essential that after the use of the telescope gauge, the strip should be cleaned and retracted back to its housing, else it may damage the feeler strip.

Poker Gauge
Poker gauge is one unique tool among different types of measuring instruments is available in mechanical or digital form on ships.  It is only used for one purpose; To measure propeller stern shaft clearance, also known as propeller wear down. It is a type of depth measuring instrument, whose reading indicates the wear down of the stern shaft.
A special access point or plate is provided which can be either open, bolted, secured or welded, depending upon the ship design. The Poker gauge is inserted to in this access point to measure the propeller drop. The poker gauge is a special instrument which is kept with the chief engineer, and the reading is usually taken every dry dock.
The design of the poker gauge may vary as each vessel has customised poker gauge made available during the handing over from the shipyard. While taking the reading the shaft to be turned, so that propeller boss matches with the marking of the shaft.

Bridge Gauge
As the name suggests, Bridge gauge looks like bridge carrying the measuring instrument at the centre of the bridge. They are used to measure the amount of wear of Main engine bearing. Typically the upper bearing keep is removed, and clearance is measured for the journal. A feeler gauge or depth gauge can be used to complete the process.
A feeler gauge or depth gauge can be used to complete the process.
Liner Measurement Tool
A liner measurement tool is a special tool for marine engines which comes in a set of the straight rod of different marked length, which can be assembled together to make the measuring tool of the required length. It is used to measure the wear down or increase the diameter of the engine liner.
It is considered as special tools when compared to other types of measuring tools and kept separately with other engine special tools under chief engineer or 2nd engineer supervision.

American Wire Gauge
American wire gauge or AWG is a standard tool which is circular and has various slots of different diameter in its circumference. It is used to measure the cross section of an electric cable or wire. This tool is usually kept in the electrical workshop of the ship, and electrical officer uses it for measuring wire thickness.

Bore Gauge
A tool to accurately measure the diameter of any hole is known as bore gauge, It can be a scale, dial or digital type instrument. The most common type which is used on the ship is dial type bore gauge, which comes with a dial gauge which is attached to the shaft and replacement rods, also known as measuring sleds, of different size to measure different hole dimensions.  It is usually calibrated in 0.001 inch (0.0025 cm) or 0.0001 inch (0.00025 cm).

Depth Gauge
A depth gauge is used to measure the depth of a slot, hole or any other surface of an object. It can be of scale, dial or digital type. The depth gauge can be a micrometre style type, a dial indicator type, or modified Vernier type tool, which means the measuring base is fitted on the reading scale of a micrometre, dial indicator or the Vernier scale.
Angle Plate or Tool
As the name suggests, this is a tool comprising of two flat plates which are at a right angle to each other, and it is used to measure the exact right angle of an object or two objects joined together. This tool is usually kept in workshop away from any tools or chemical which may roughen the surface of the angle plate.
Source:wikimedia
Flat Plate
The flat plate or a surface plate is a precision flat surface used to measure the flatness of an object when it is kept over the flat plate acting as a reference. The flat plate is also kept in a workshop in a secure location, and a wooden piece is usually held on the top of the flat surface as the protective cover to safeguard the surface. Regular visual inspection and calibration need to be done to check for wear, scoring etc. on the surface.
Dial Gauge
The dial gauge is utilised in different tools as stated above and can be separately used to measure the trueness of the circular object, jumping off an object, etc. It consists of an indicator with the dial, which is connected to the plunger carrying the contact point. Once the contact point is kept in touch with an object (to be measured), any unevenness or jumping will cause the plunger to move.
The plunger is connected to the pointed in the dial. The dial is such attached that it does not retract but swings in an arc around its hinge point to show the reading in the indicator.

Lead Wire
It is a conventional method to use soft lead wire or lead balls to measure the wear down or clearance between two mating surfaces. The lead wire or balls of fixed dimension (which is usually larger than the expected clearance) are kept between two surfaces, and both are tightened against each just as in normal condition. The change in the width of the lead wire or ball will show the clearance or wear down.

 Oil Gauging Tapes
Also known as sounding tapes, these are special types of gauges only used to measure the level of the fluid (HFO, DO, Lubes, Water etc.) inside the ship’s tanks. The sounding tapes can be of a mechanical type where the tape is retracted in a coil and connected to a heavy bob at the end. The mechanical tapes are the most commonly used in all dry ships, however, in tankers ships, electronic sounding gauges, electrically powered servo type gauges, ultrasonic type etc.

Seawater Hydrometer
A small glass instrument for measuring the density and saturation of the salt in the seawater. This is an essential tool for deck officers as the draft survey will be determined using the water density to calculate the cargo weight for loading. It is also used for ensuring compliance with the load line survey.
Crankshaft Deflection Gauge
A form of dial gauge specifically made to measure the crankshaft deflection of the marine engine. The working is similar as explained in the dial gauge, the only difference is the construction which let this tool hang between two webs allowing it to measure the deflection when the crankshaft rotates.
Engine Peak Indicator
A measuring instrument for a marine engine with pressure indicator dial used to measure the peak pressure generated inside the engine cylinder. The pressure indicator dial is connected to the blowdown valve located on the top of the cylinder. There is a check valve provided before the indicator, which when opens will the pressurised gases to continually flow inside the indicator till it reaches the maximum value in the dial.
Once the pressure is measured, an exhaust valve provided on the side of the valve is opened which release the pressurised gas from the instrument. It is an oil filled pressure gauge instrument which helps in resisting the vibration and also acts as good heat resistant.
Engine Indicator Diagram Tool
It is a cylindrical device containing the indicator piston with spring and needle, used to draw the indicator diagram for a particular cylinder when it is fixed on the indicator cock of the unit.
The internal pressure changes in the cylinder are transferred to the indicator piston which is balanced with the spring. The displacement in the piston is magnified and transformed into an indicator diagram by using a precision link mechanism connected to a metal stylus.
