Prepping prices, captions, artist statements and bios for the show space, possibly doing a poster for the walls, all while organizing brunch dates with family visiting and sending personal emails to people inviting them to the show. Using this time to create a space of calm. Of stillness. Of intention. I've been practicing being present a lot more. It feels good. It feels good to have moments in my life that are just that. They don't need to be shared online, nor do I seek to do things in order to share them online. I strive to be conscious and at the same time share consciously and not overly. In a world where everything needs to be instant, I'm learning to nurture my natural state of wanting to sit with my work. Of wanting to be with my loved ones without feeling the necessity to share our time together with the world. Why must it all instantly exist on the Internet? Slow down. Be present.
