Believe it or not, there is even more stuff on my actual WIP list I've made because that also includes the ideas I don't have docs for yet because as you can probably tell, there are a fuck ton of things I want to write and I'll forget them if I don't have a list.

wait but i thought dean saying 'that's a relief' is in response to sam saying he doesn't want to use his powers anymore & not sam not wanting to talk about it?

it is in response to sam saying he wont use his powers anymore but it comes right after dean told sam he wants try to understand how sam is feeling and that he listens etc if sam continues with the powers. its hard to explain but i guess you could like say

sam is a drug addict, dean tells him he wants sam to open up to him and that he will be by his side, sam says "it doesnt matter. ill just stop taking drugs", and dean goes like "thats a relief and thank you that i dont have to worry about that/deal with it now"

i cant really find the right words but i know what its like to be in a situation where someone tells you they care and want to help but then the moment you tell them "it doesnt matter now" they switch to relief instead of trying to understand that sudden choice or how you felt while struggling

it doesnt matter if dean means it or is aware of the effect his words have, but it comes across as a confirmation that Yes, you struggling and me having to deal with an unstable You it is a burden

what are ur thoughts on michael!dean?

generally i don't really have any thoughts about au!michael, or michael regarding dean, specifically but when i was rewatching season fourteen in its entirety at the end of june, i did talk about the implications of both dean's absence from the patriarchal and familial structure (i've also referred to this idea in some tags) as well as the differences between lucifer's cage and dean as a cage. i've also talked about the narrative's own disregard for sam's trauma regarding possession in my own post and nick normalbrothershow's tags specifically in the context of au!michael's possession of dean but it's pretty key to note that this isn't specific to the context of michael!dean alone; supernatural routinely passes up on opportunities to explore sam's traumas as early as late season nine despite the repetitive mirrorings of dean's conflicts with sam's past conflicts. it eventually becomes extremely laughable in the context of the exploration of michael!dean's possession conflict, and how sam and dean deal with it within their relationship, considering that sam is dean's victim when it comes to possession.

i think his outfits were cringe in a camp kind of way and despite the fact that au!michael generally isn't presented as a very dynamic character, you can tell jensen was having fun with it, which makes it bearable. i've touched on bits and pieces that are interesting to me in regards to dean's character but something that i do think is interesting (because of course it is have you seen my blog) but haven't touched on yet is the conflict relating to foiling or mirroring michael and dean's abusive actions especially in regards to kaia and jack as separate characters as well as throughout their narrative foiling. kaia and jack, to me, is season fourteen's ava and sam.

like i said and as you can probably tell from every angle i've taken to look at him here, i'm not interested in him specifically, but he does have tons of interesting implications on the ideas and characters that i am interested in.
