Lost Rewatch: 1x21 The Greater Good

You know, ‘brave’ isn’t always a good thing. And we have no idea why Bonne refused to have his leg chopped off - he never mentions antibiotics
The height difference oh my god
Hang on, Heathrow? What was Sayid doing in England?
Come to think of it, Nadia was in England, wasn’t she? When she gets saved by Charlie? But I assumed that that took place a while ago...
So American agents are allowed to barge into England and randomly arrest someone who hasn’t done anything wrong? And keep him in a holding cell for eighteen hours? That seems fair
Also, eighteen hours? What is the point of that? Just tell him you have Nadia from the off!
So, Sayid went to Cairo University. Why Egypt? What did he study? We never learn this
Once again, Boone’s courage is the only thing they can find to say about him
Also, I get that it’s his funeral, but way to bring up the only good thing he does in the whole show
He didn’t go up to the plane because he was trying to help, Locke, he did it because you told him to. There was no evidence that the plane would be useful. In the grand scale of things, it is really detrimental
Well that baby has grown a lot in a day, hasn’t it?
Come on, Locke, change out of that shirt
Do you really think trying to comfort his grieving sister while you’ve still got Boone’s blood all over you is going to work?
Okay, I would judge ‘drugging Jack cause he needs the sleep’ as in character for Kate. I would judge ’staring at him while he’s asleep’ as in character for Cate
Man, I love Sayid. His scenes with basically everyone rule. Him and Locke this episode is no exception. They’re killer!
God, is the CIA really this awful?
Okay, Sayid was military, he would know what a ‘click’ was, but Locke wasn’t, so why would he?
They’re no way in hell Sayid believes that ‘hatch’ means hatches on a plane, so why does he lower the gun?
Why does Charlie assume that Sun knows anything about babies? She doesn’t have kids, and from what we know she’s an only child
Why didn’t Essam’s boss tell Sayid they were doing it that day before he went to the shops? Cause now a bunch of people saw him get into a creepy van, and if a terror attack happens later, surely they would put two and two together
You know, in episode 1, Sayid looked pretty fine for someone who’s friend had killed himself in front of him literally the day before
Sawyer reading a car magazine to a baby is so funny. Claire looks so confused
Goddamn does Sayid look threatening in this shot
Overall Review:
Sayid’s flashbacks are always... well, ‘a joy’ is probably the wrong thing to say, but nonetheless they’re interesting. It’s a shame that the on-island story doesn’t live up to that high standard. Sayid is enthralling when on screen, as always, and the Charlie/ Turnip-Head B story helped bring levity to this otherwise heavy story, but Shannon’s story... I mean, I get where she’s coming from, of course she’d be cut up over her brother dying. But I really, really didn’t care about Boone
Overall Rating: 6.7/10
Better than the previous Sayid episode, but still in the Season’s best episodes
