Show non-profits the money
Tumblr media
I talk shit about purpose-driven advertising a fair amount. Mostly because it reeks of hypocrisy so much of the time. But hey, if a brand really builds itself around doing good in the world, by all means, please shout that story loud and proud to attract people to your cause.
With that said, it makes me think about the non-profit world. Ideally, this would be the perfect home for organizations that want to do good. But we don’t give many of them a chance. Because we insist that they pay their people poorly and spend next to nothing on getting their message out.
Why the hell would we do this?
Yes, I understand that fraud is real and we want to make sure unsavory types aren’t taking advantage of people’s good intentions. But, surely there is a better way to counter this problem than insisting on a puritanical level of prudence from non-profits?
We should want the best and brightest working on issues that matter, and we should be willing to pay them for their efforts. “Shouldn’t they do it out of the kindness of their hearts?” No, they should not, and we’re being petty and pollyannish to insist they must.
We should also encourage massive spending on marketing. I mean, I’m assuming we actually believe what we tell our clients, right? You know, how each dollar spent on marketing and advertising will come back and then some? Why in the world wouldn’t we want that kind of return for non-profits? Do we not want them to be flush with cash?
This may all sound like heresy to those who demand monk-like frugality and purity from the most philanthropic among us. But if we really want a better world, where purpose-driven organizations help lead the way, we best learn to change our tune.
Or, we’ll keep seeing our top talent making their way towards Silicon Valley and Wall Street, while Main Street continues to get ignored.
But hey, at least we can feel good about our pure intentions, right?

Finally, it’s Monday morning. I love new beginnings and every day is a new one. What are you working on at the moment? Me?!  I’m currently registering for a startup for the third time, and let me tell you— it’s always a lot of work! Luckily it’s a little easier this time around though, because I now have the @bublup app to help me keep ALL the info I need in order to complete the registration process without forgetting any steps. . The non-profit organization I’m registering here in the US will compliment the work that I have started in South Africa. And I am so thankful and honored to have these amazing people around me that are supporting the Penguins Pre-school project. . With this and each startup prior, I have learned a lot with the help of so many wonderful people. I want to share some of that knowledge with you now: . I have combined useful information for how to register a non-profit in the US in a @bublup folder. . And I have made a folder on recycling and up-cycling! Includes everything from what can be recycled, what do recycling numbers stand for and how to create a life with less trash. DM me of you like to have access to any of the folders (or if you have any questions about non-profits)! . #sustainabilitymatters #sustainablebuilding #nonprofitmarketing #nonprofitwork #businesswithpurpose #businesswithheart #meaningfullife #createandcultivate #createandsupport #womensupportingwomen #livingthegreen #ngo #buildingcommunity #bossbabetribe #createyourlife #startuptips #startupideas #wecandobetter #creatingabetterworld #gritandgrace #fempreneurs #goalgetters #hustleandheart (at Lexington, Kentucky) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0x6sFGhmnZ/?igshid=1hmhxpcjrvf7c

Did you know that using branded items can maximize your fundraising dollars? The simple silicone wristband has been a popular promotional product for many large charities and non-profit organizations that use them as rewards for those who donate. Water bottles, tote bags, customized ribbons, flash drives, coffee mugs, and t-shirts are just some of the other branded products that help to promote a cause. Click on the link below to see some of the products we offer and then give us a call at 1-800-920-3451 or email us at [email protected] so that we can help you choose the right promotional product for your organization.

Instagram isn’t going anywhere! It’s where your business and brand needs to be. If your a small business, nonprofit, large corporation or personal brand this is the place to be. This is not to say it’s more important than Facebook, LinkedIn, google, Snapchat, TikTok, it’s just a platform that’s not going anywhere, anytime soon. . . . #content #localwebguy #hustle #inspire #gymmarketing #smallbusinessmarketing #nonprofitmarketing #local #creativemarketing #photography #igworks #businessmarketing #gymowners #personalbrands #crossfit #trailrunnersofinstagram #smallbusiness (at Visalia, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCZEi6oAqJv/?igshid=rkrtnitt4kym

“It’s really important to be able to communicate the operation’s mission and goals in a compelling way, and in a way that intersects with a donor or potential donor’s interests. When you’re dealing with people who are making contributions to organizations they care about, it’s one of the most important and meaningful things that they’re doing” - Katherine Brown, Executive Director, New York City Ballet 👯‍♀️
