After seeing multiple B&M drawings you’ve recently posted, what was it like drawing  with coloured pencils before adding refined lines, I bet scanning them was the tricky part to maintain the quality. Was that kind of a standard when drawing characters as animation frames or illustrations in the industry back then? 

Personally, I really find that approach more traditionally appealing to do on paper, compared to drawing digitally on a tablet which honestly can feel awkward, but that’s just me I guess.

We actually had "nonphoto blue" pencils that wouldn't (typically) pick up on a scanner or xerox machine. I would always try to lock things down more with a 2-4B pencil before passing them on to the cleanup artists.

Scanned the DI Sol I drew the other week and drew an Overture DI Sol next to him. Clutch pencil and some nonphoto blue. The one on the left has a little bit of black colored pencil too. I like how it blends with the graphite, so I might do that more in sketches patreon

some things of note;

i’ve decided that minors are alright to follow this blog, i realize that there are a lot of younger people who find this sort of thing comforting. just please keep in mind this is my own safe space and i don’t bother with tagging triggering content in images, so browse at your own discretion.

i’ve touched on this before, but in a very negative and foolish way, acting out of emotions rather than rational thought (and i do apologize for that). but my stance is the same - pro ana/thinspo blogs are not welcome here. this is included in the catch all with any blogs which romanticize or advocate for staying sick, which also includes most “traumacore” blogs. i cannot tell you how to live your life, but i can say that i don’t wish to be associated in any way with any of these types of blogs, thank you.

on some of these subjects, i’ve decided to make this blog focus more heavily on the emphasis of getting better as well as just an aesthetic blog. i may post things about positivity and promoting healthy choices, with an emphasis on physical disabilities and abnormal mental illnesses, both of which effect me daily. i’ll experiment with this and see how it goes.

Yay, I finally drew something! And surprise-surprise, it's more fanart of my ConVex Recursive fic "I Waved Goodbye to the End of Beginning" (which is a recursive fic of @quaranmine 's amazing yet tragic fic "The Incandescence of a Dying Light")

If you haven't read "Incandescence" you definitely should. It's a Firewatch x Hermitcraft au story. (Especially before slchecking my fic out, my story takes place a year after the events of "Incandescence" and it's told from Cub's pov)

what is endos

I get this question a lot! "Endos" is short for "endogenics" or "endogenics systems." These are people who claim to have multiple personalities while also claiming to not have the mental illness that causes this phenomenon, either from birth or otherwise without experiencing severe childhood trauma. This is medically false, and though there is a theory in the psychology community (read again: THEORY) that this can occur, it is not supported by the vast majority of specialists in dissociaitive disorders. Further, this theory isn't even called "endogenic" - which implies people who claim this are so detached from the medical community that they haven't even researched and used terms that exist to possibly explain what they claim to be experiencing. Basically people who claim to experience symptoms only seen in rare and severe mental illnesses based in childhood trauma, while at the same time claiming to not have these illnesses. Then more often than not try to integrate and use resources and terms specifically created for those who suffer from these illnesses. It's highly damaging to the community and further spreads misinformation which directly endangers trauma victims. This is why I would rather not those who claim to have multiple personalities without any basis for experiencing such a rare psychological phenomenon to keep off of my personal coping blog. I finally used the cash I saved up to pull the trigger on an iPad Pro.

Testing out procreate. I still may be more comfortable with my tablet and photoshop for now, but I figure this isn’t a bad first go considering I’m also super out of practice now because work life is suffering and I only get short spurts of wanting to draw now.
