"Cybertronians reacting to getting kissed", in which kissing is not something cybertronians do as an act of affection, so they're completely new to the human concept of kissing to express romantic love. Talk me one Knock Out who is so versed in wooing but doesn't know two shits about human kissing, and finding himself kissed for the first time. Or Starscream who's gonna freak out. Or Megatron who doesn't even know why you're smashing your intake against his
This is such a good question, anon, I've been rotating it in my head for a while now
Knock Out is well-versed in the drag and frag technique. He’s probably one of the youngest members on the Nemesis, still old as balls by our standards, but some rebellious youngin’ by theirs. He’s all about sliding in with a smooth pickup line and buttering you up until he reaches the “let’s get down to business” level, where he starts flashing his biolights in a “come hither and frag me” display. When it comes to human kissing, he’s… improvising to say the least. He’s seen humans make out in a wide variety of drive-through horror movies (many with questionable acting), and while he doesn’t “get” why we do it, he does his best to lean into the act and find what makes it so pleasurable by our standards. When you do kiss him for the first time, he’s already been hyping himself up for months, and whatever smoothness he tries to apply immediately disintegrates because oh fuck, your lips are so small and he has so much to give. He’s absolutely suffering despite the confident front he’s putting up. After fumbling the bag, he’ll ask you how he did. “Mid,” you’re tempted to say. But the hopefulness behind those smug optics stops you in your tracks. Starscream must have had a very confusing interface life even by Cybertronian standards. But there’s no way he didn’t get frisky back when he was Air Commander of Vos, even if the workload was immense. Although that’s probably the most action he got in his entire life, and even then the closest equivalent to “kissing” by their standards is merging EM fields and hoping for the best, a careful manipulation of wavelengths to fall into perfect sync. We humans do not possess a hyper-developed EM field, which is enraging for Starscream because what do you mean you smash intakes??? Mass-displaced or not, the only fluids he accepts in his intake are energon and transfluid, thank you very much. Kissing is a bad idea, and you’ve learned it the hard way, so good job! Now you have to deal with his drama queen ass acting like you just spit in his mouth. Worst thing is, he is interested in trying it again, but with his stipulations (aka watching him fail to figure out how to kiss you). He doesn’t even fail in a funny way, he’s so bad it’s concerning, you’re half tempted to contact Knock Out and blackmail him into sending you Starscream’s medical file.
Megatron was… surprisingly abstinent back on Cybertron. Yes, he’s been around for a long time. Yes, he used to be a gladiator at some point. And yes, it had its perks, but he was always more of a “sensitive spark” than a typical casanova. He had more important things to focus on at the time (mainly surviving the pits of Kaon and, before that, not offlining in a freak mining accident). Honestly, who knows what he did as a politician, whatever freakiness he had going on while trying to depose the government is none of our business and I am totally not typing this with a fusion cannon to my head.
He’s been through so much; fought countless beasts and fellow gladiators, avoided assassination attempts and blood-thirsty mutinies while leading a millennia-long war. Nothing can surprise him anymore. Yes, you’re a weird little freak for smashing intakes with him, but you need not fear for your safety. He’s… intrigued by your display of affection. You can mumble excuses all you want, but you’ve smashed intakes with him and it can’t be undone. Watch out for those sharp teeth and prepare a tetanus shot just in case. You have to deal with the consequences of your actions whether you like it or not, especially when he’s got a claw under your shirt and another down your pants. Your lips are bleeding and you pray it’s an accident, if he gets a taste for human blood you’re done for.

The Shadowsinger & The Inkbird: Chapter Three
Azriel x Day Court Librarian Reader
Summary: Y/n's clairvoyance is a gift from the Mother, but it feels more like a curse. With the power to gain knowledge through touch alone, Y/n holes herself up in The Alcove and hopes her powers and parentage will remain a secret. But things will change after the Summer Solstice ball and a chance encounter with a certain Shadowsinger.
Warnings: None that I can think of. Cassian, Azriel, and Y/n go to a romantic library
The Shadowsinger & The Inkbird: Masterlist
Masterlist of Masterlists
“I. Can’t. Believe. It.” Cassian paced the floor in front of his brothers with his hands on his hips.
“I know.” Azriel said miserably.
“I can’t believe it.”
Rhysand smirked, leaning back on Az’s bed with his head propped up beneath his arm. They’d all been in shock leaving the Alcove. Even Helion had been uncharacteristically silent, contemplating what to do now that it looked like his daughter was mates with the Shadowsinger.
Upon return to the Sun Palace they’d found Azriel in his room, head in his hands as his shadows flurried around him in displeasure.
“You fucking ran away from your mate.” Cassian was incredulous, “Over 500 years you’ve been desperate for one, and the moment the bond snaps into place, you fucking run away? What the fuck, Az?”
“As if you or Rhys did any better.” Az growled. Already he could feel the tug of the bond towards you. It was part of the reason he’d run away in the first place. Better to hide and brood over this secret than overwhelm you more than he already had.
“He’s got a point there, Cas.”
“Shut up! Az should know better than to follow in our footsteps.”
“That we can all agree on,” Feyre said, breezing into the room and finding her rightful place on the bed beside her husband. He kissed her on the temple and Azriel felt a wave of jealousy wash over him. He had a mate. A mate who had flinched whenever he came too close. The memory turned the contents of his stomach into ash. Bitter and cruel.
“It’s not that simple. You saw her tonight. She couldn’t stand being near me.”
Rhys’s eyes fluttered down to the female in his arms and Feyre, always in sync with Rhys, glanced up at the same time, a look of regret in her eyes.
“Sorry, Rhys.” Az apologized, but he waved it off.
“It might not have been you. We’ve no idea what kind of history she has. What her experience has been with other fae. With males.”
Az’s eyes darkened, his shadows similarly taking on a more vicious tone. That knife in his gut twisted to the side at the thought of anyone hurting you.
“What Rhys means to say,” Feyre said, catching the flicker of darkness around Azriel’s edges, “Is that until you get to know her better, you can’t come to any conclusions about her actions tonight.” A light turned on in her mind and Rhys nodded his head in agreement, “You and Cass should go see her in the morning. Ask her to take you to the library with the romance books so he can find Nesta something. It should give you more than enough time to talk.”
“I will not be supervised by Cassian.”
“Why not, brother? You and your little Librarian can’t be worse than Nesta and I were.”
Azriel lunged at him, ready to smack him in the back of the head, but Feyre slid between them before he could get too close.
“No. No fighting tonight. You can pummel each other to a pulp when we’re home.”
“Promise?” Cassian winked.
Az rolled his eyes and frowned. “This is a terrible time for a mating bond, Fey. Koschei-”
“Has there ever been a good time for a mating bond?”
Azriel fell silent, unable to refute his High Lady.
“Rhys and I will take care of that business tomorrow with Helion.” She said with a tone of finality, holding Azriel’s face between her hands, “This is a good thing, Az. Enjoy it. Get to know her. Get to know your mate.”
Your mate.
The words floated around in Azriel’s mind as he lay in bed and watched the light start to bleed back into the world. He’d been thinking about you all night. You with your soft hair and sheepish smile. You with your mismatched mugs and cheeks flushed with color. He was grateful that Day Court life started early, because he didn’t think he’d be able to stay in bed much longer.
Breakfast was a quick affair, and no one missed the way the Shadowsinger quickly ate, the muscle in his jaw twitching as he watched Cassian savor every bite of his waffles, berry custard, sausages, and tea. Cassian smiled from across the table and Azriel scowled, silently urging him to hurry up. They were wasting precious time.
The moment the last drop from Cassian’s cup was in his mouth, Azriel was hauling him out of his seat and towards the window. Helion narrowed his eyes at the pair but said nothing as their leathery wings flared out without hesitation and they leapt from the Sun Palace.
Azriel’s breath caught in his throat when you opened the door, fresh-faced and smelling like mint and rose. You blinked in surprise, once again half-hiding your body behind the cherry wood door. After his abrupt departure last night, you’d paced the floor of your kitchen, aggressively cleaning the dishes as you mulled over everything you must have done wrong in order for him to react like that. Perhaps you’d offended him somehow? Things had certainly felt fine before. You’d enjoyed talking to them… especially him.
“My Lords,” You said with a quick dip of your head. Azriel cringed at the title and Cassian, for the sake of his brother, didn’t poke fun, “Um…why are you here? Or-sorry-what can I do for you today?”
Cassian’s grin was broad and mischievous, “We were hoping you could show us the romance library. The one you told us about last night. I don’t think I could leave the Day Court in good conscience without something salacious to bring home to Nesta.”
“Oh I um…” You glanced behind you at your living room. You’d hoped to finish reading two of your books on containment spells today, perhaps start summarizing some of your findings and look for connections.
“I-” He coughed, “We don’t want to burden you with this if you’re busy.” Azriel jumped in.
Please say you’ll come. Please say you’ll come. He all but shouted the words down the bond.
There was something so hopeful about the way he looked at you, as if he was silently begging you to say yes, that you couldn’t refuse him.
“No, no. I didn’t have anything planned. Just… just give me a few minutes.” With that you shut the door in their faces and ran to your bedroom, reemerging exactly three minutes later wearing a pale yellow dress with sensible brown shoes and a matching coat. Aside from your hands - which you hid within your deep pockets - and your face, not a scrap of skin was to be found anywhere.
You hesitated at the doorway. Both Cassian and Azriel stood too close, crowding the marble steps leading down to the pale cobblestone streets. Azriel elbowed Cassian out of the way, all but pushing him down the steps with you following six feet behind.
“Lead the way, little Librarian.” Cassian said when they reached the bottom, swinging his arm out to the side.
Despite the festivities that had taken place the day before, fae were already wide awake and winding through the streets with groceries and fresh baked bread tucked under the arms. The scholars were the easiest to pick out, milling about the coffeeshops and athenaeums with ink stained fingertips and the scent of old paper clinging to their coats.
Since the war with Hybern, the Day Court’s borders had loosened to accept more visiting researchers from other courts. Intermixed with the usual jumble of fae were tawny-winged Peregryns from Dawn, salt-skinned sailors from Summer, even the occasional fluttering of Spring Court nymph wings could be spotted, shimmering iridescent pinks and purples.
A quarter mile away, the weekly market was beginning to stir with life, offering up the best artisanal wares in all of Prythian. Hand-stitched leather bound journals, elegant fountain pens with a never-ending ink supply, satchels that could hold up to two-hundred pounds worth of material and still feel as light as a feather. Azriel would have investigated further if you hadn’t steered the pair down a narrower neighborhood street, a pink-stoned athenaeum waiting at the end.
“This is the 69th sector athenaeum.” You announced. Cassian coughed into his fist, “And before you ask, yes, the location was selected very intentionally.”
The Illyrian’s face turned a bright red, cheeks flaring out as he attempted to stifle his laughter. Azriel closed his eyes, one hand coming up to rub at his temples. You could have sworn you heard him mumble “Mother give me strength” beneath his breath.
“And what do you call this place?” Azriel asked curiously, trying to turn your attention away from a very immature Cassian, “The “69th sector atheneum” doesn’t have a very pleasing ring to it.”
You blushed, “We call it The Loveseat.”
“A very-” Cassian wheezed, “A very appropriate-” Wheeze, “A very appropriate name.”
You shook your head, hiding your smirk as you opened the double doors and stepped inside. The library dedicated to lovers took its theme very seriously, as most athenaeums were apt to do. Lush velvet couches, bouquets of flowers in every shade imaginable, and paintings of love and affection were carefully laid out in between shelves of auburn-stained wood that reached as high as the ceiling. Walkways criss-crossed above their heads forming a spiral pattern that ended at the domed ceiling where someone had painstakingly painted a collection of confessional scenes from Prythian’s most cherished romance novels.
Cassian may have been all teenage jokes before, but he melted at the sight of the ceiling. He thought of Nesta and tugged on the bond, letting her see the athenaeum before him.
“The more explicit works are in the back.” You said, pointing down towards the back staircase which would take any full-grown fae to the lower level. But Cassian had already drifted off, silently following Nesta’s guidance as he scanned the shelves.
“How do you know that?” Azriel asked once Cassian had all but disappeared.
“Hmmm?”
“How do you know the more explicit works are in the back?”
You fell silent, tugging your sleeves over your hands as you chewed the inside of your cheek. The Shadowsinger tipped his head back and laughed. Not a hidden smile, not a barely-there smirk, or near-silent chuckle, but a gentle full-bodied laugh that shook his wings.
You gaped at him, “A female is allowed to have hobbies, is she not?”
He shook his raven-black hair, the faint waves within it rippling and catching the warm light that trickled down from the ceiling, “I never said she wasn’t. And I would never deny anyone their smutty romance books if that’s what made them happy. After all, I am Nesta’s brother-in-law.”
You leaned against a nearby bookcase, absentmindedly running your ink-stained fingers over the spines and getting flashes of knowledge - the death of a brother, a night spent sweaty and spent under the stars, the exhilarating lurch that comes when two lips kiss for the first time. You couldn’t help but insert the Shadowsinger into the picture.
“And what makes you happy, Azriel? What do you like to do for fun?”
There was a pause, as if no one had ever asked him that question before.
“I like to spend time with my family.” He said, slipping into the shelves and ducking down so he could see you through the space between the books. For the first time in a while, you disliked the physical barrier between you and another person.
You shook your head, pretending to read the titles so you wouldn’t look into those hazel eyes, “That’s not a hobby though.”
He shrugged, “The nature of my work keeps me away from most things. I don’t often have time for things I enjoy.”
“But you do have things you enjoy, don’t you? Something to take your mind off the nature of your work.”
Azriel stilled, no longer moving with you and you realized you must have overstepped your bounds.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked you-”
“I like music.” He said finally after some contemplation, “I like flying over the musician’s quarter in Velaris so I can hear what they’re playing at the theater. Sometimes I’ll sneak in and hide in the rafters.”
He’d never told anyone that. But you only nodded in agreement, as if sneaking around in your own city and into shows you could afford in a moment’s notice were a normal thing to do.
“That seems very appropriate for a Shadowsinger.”
The strange dance you’d been dueting came to an abrupt end when the shelves stopped, spitting the two of you out into one of the narrow aisles face to face.
Azriel smiled at you, exposing his teeth in a rare smile. Other than the smallest chip in his left canine, they were pristine - as perfectly imperfect as the rest of him.
“Now you tell me. What do you like to do?”
“Well you already know I like smutty romance novels.”
“Naturally.” He said, gesturing to the space they were in.
You looked around the room, breathed in the smell of roses and ink. You shrugged, “I like to read.”
“Naturally.” The Shadowsinger repeated.
“I… I suppose I like to sing.”
He leaned forward, as if it were a secret, “A little songbird then?”
“No, no, I’m not good at it. But there’s a pianist who lives down the street from me so I end up memorizing her songs.”
You wracked your brain for anything more to say. Something that would make you appear more interesting, braver, kinder, special… someone worthy of the attention you were receiving from this male. You had never been the most physically inclined, hence why the elite Bookkeepers - Librarians charged with the physical protection of their respective athenaeums - had passed you over. You weren’t one for baking or crafting or gardening or hosting parties or any of the rest of those things. You didn’t know how to draw, you’d never picked up an instrument, you tried embroidery once and found it boring.
“I think… I think that’s it, really.” You said, sounding defeated.
Azriel hadn’t taken his eyes off you the entire time you were thinking. Not for a single second, “I don’t believe you.”
“Well you don’t know me so…”
“Maybe not yet. But I would like to, Y/n the Librarian. If you’d let me.”
The feeling that crept up into your throat and lodged itself there took you by surprise. Some mortifying realization that you were becoming emotional in front of the Shadowsinger. You cleared your throat, dipping your head down and diving back into the shelves so he couldn’t see your silvery eyes.
“Tell me more about the kinds of things academics concern themselves with.” Azriel said smoothly, calling back your conversation from the night before as he peered over a dense set of bodice-rippers at you. If he wanted to take your mind off things, he was doing an excellent job.
“Hardcover versus paperback.” Your fingers skimmed over the book bindings. Bodice-rippers indeed.
“And?”
You pursed your lips, thoughts of Nesta and her smutty books coming into mind before you could help yourself.
“Ahhh, you just thought of something. Tell me.”
“I don’t want to.” You mumbled, but the Shadowsinger only arched his brows.
You rolled your eyes in defeat. Not that you’d put up much of a fight. He was the Shadowsinger after all, he could learn what you had for breakfast three weeks ago if he really wanted to.
“I… I once got into a heated argument with a certain erotica writer about the physical impossibility of a human having sex with a dragon-born fae…”
He blinked, tipped his head back, and laughed. One of those full-bellied ones again. You swiveled around, grateful to find that the only other fae on this floor were currently lip-locked on a sofa ten shelves down. They were far too preoccupied to make a noise complaint.
“It’s not funny!” You hissed, “There are certain anatomical considerations that can’t be ignored. You can’t-” Your futile attempts at explaining yourself were only met with louder laughter. It was infectious and suddenly that was all you two seemed to be capable of. Both of you doubled over with laughter on opposite sides of the bookshelf in a building that suddenly seemed too cramped, too small to fit the joy within.
“Please-” Azriel chuckled, “Please tell me how long this lasted.”
“I can’t breathe-” You gasped for breath, “Oh gods. Three months?”
“Three months?”
“There are nuances we got into. And they use a pseudonym so we were sending letters.”
“Letters?”
Luckily, or rather unluckily for you, you were saved from further explanation, because there was someone waiting at the end of the shelves with two thin fists propped up on curvy hips.
You bit down on your tongue as she sashayed forward, forcing you backward like she knew you would. Azriel immediately stepped to the side as you careened back out into the aisle, your laughter long forgotten. A new crowd was beginning to spread throughout the athenaeum - shy couples on first outings, sheepish young ones searching for the most heart-wrenching stories they could find, older fae looking for a little spark in their comparably milder lives.
But Azriel’s full attention was on you and the displeasure written in your tight lips as the short-haired pixie came out in full view.
“Y/n.” She said, a sugary sweetness in the way she said your name, like rotten fruit.
“Marsha.” You replied curtly, instinctively stepping back and closer to Azriel as the female moved forward to hug you. She rolled her eyes at the rejection, immediately taking notice of Azriel’s dark and towering form. Her small, round lips opened in a surprised oh before sinking into a low bow, chest jutting forward in an attempt to make full use of her small bosom. She wore the signature pale blue robes of another athenaeum - The Blue Drink.
“My Lord Shadowsinger.” More sickly sweet words.
For the first time in Azriel’s life, he didn’t correct her use of his title, already deciding from your reaction that this was not a female he wanted to associate with.
“It is good to see you out and about, Y/n, and in such distinguished company. Hardly anyone sees you anymore, my dear. I can’t imagine what you must be doing with all that time.”
You swallowed, “The High Lord has me on special business. But you already know that, Marsha.”
“Bah. Special business.” She threw a hand in the air, swatting away your confidence, “Busy work.”
“It’s not- '' You bit your tongue. Marsha was one of the few fae who knew you were Helion’s bastard daughter. A complex story that involved her close friendship with Helion's ex-lover who’d felt betrayed when he chose you and your mother over him. Since then she’d convinced herself that all you did was drain from the royal coffers and take advantage of her High Lord’s generosity like some parasite, “It’s not busy work.”
“Then why do you never share it with us? No papers written. No books published.” Even her frown was sickly sweet, “It seems a waste, doesn’t it?”
You remembered what she’d said to you, back when you were an apprentice. What a waste of a Clairvoyant. Your mother didn’t fall into bed like a common whore for you to choose The Alcove and hide your power.
She tsked her tongue, once again shooting Azriel a deceptively sweet smile, “Well I suppose you have other things taking up your time. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, I see.”
Your face paled, half in embarrassment and half in anger. By all means she shouldn’t have known anything, but as it was with all Librarians, she had a stubborn streak for digging in graves that should remain buried. You could respect her loyalty to her friend. The rest you could not.
Your mother didn’t fall into bed like a common whore for you to choose The Alcove and hide your power.
“I’m happy for the pair of you.”
Bullshit.
You finally opened your mouth to correct her, but Azriel spoke first, one hand ghosting ever so close to the square of your back, but never making contact, “Thank you. We were just leaving.” Azriel said curtly, jaw clenched. With just a few polite, yet dangerous words from the Shadowsinger, Marsha clamped her mouth shut and said no more.
Azriel tipped his head towards the way you’d originally come, letting you take the lead. You shot him a look of gratitude to which he returned the subtlest of smiles. A kind of smile that said, we can talk later, if you’d like.
You didn’t speak a word to one another until you were outside. Fae mingled about, their conversations doing nothing to drown out your thoughts as you walked over to the small garden. The greenery was half-sunken in the ground beneath the two main stairs that wound together in the shape of a heart. If it were anatomically correct you’d be sitting in the tricuspid valve.
Azriel sat down on the bench beside you, despite the discomfort it must have caused his wings. His shadows darted out, pooling out of his skin and beginning to cover your hands and arms in a strange hug. Azriel’s heart clenched painfully in his chest, some lingering shame of yours leaking through the bond without you even realizing it.
“We should let Cassian know where we are.” You said quietly, hands folded in your lap. Your shoulders bent inward like the curling of paper when it begins to catch fire.
“He’s a grown Illyrian. He’ll find us eventually.”
And even if he didn’t, I would be happy to sit here forever.
Azriel had been furious inside the athenaeum, the already red room turning redder as he saw the light flicker out of your eyes at Marsha’s comment. Perhaps it was another sign of the mating bond that he’d so wanted to slap that prideful smile off her face. It would be beneath him, but satisfying nevertheless.
“Are you alright?” He asked gently.
You huffed, discreetly blotting out the moisture that had collected in the corners of your eyes, “I am alright. I’m sorry about what happened inside. It wasn’t anything important.”
“You don’t need to apologize for that.”
Gods, he was being kind. Kinder than he needed to be. What were you doing charading two legendary Illyrian warriors through the streets of Day? Stirring up old emotions in public spaces and making a scene in front of him.
“No, I do. It wasn’t right of me to react that way. I should’ve hidden it better.”
“You barely reacted at all.”
Something about his insistence made you feel worse, not better. The emotions you’d been trying to tamp down since the party, and probably far longer than that, were bubbling to the surface.
“Please tell me what’s wrong, Y/n. Tell me the truth.”
The truth…
The truth was that you were a mess. You continuously shrank away from Helion’s attempts to foster a relationship with you, the discomfort you felt leaving your apartment for anything other than work was becoming an unignorable problem, and the mere thought of anyone touching you made your stomach clench. Even the Shadowsinger, whose touch you craved right now, felt like a beast behind a door that should never be opened. It might destroy you if you did.
Koschei.
Koschei.
Koschei.
What’s buried beneath the lake?
What’s buried beneath the lake?
What’s buried beneath the lake?
“There you both are!” Cassian called out, his neck craning around a stack of books that were piled from his waist to his forehead. His cheeks were touched with color, eyes bright with mischief like a boy seeing a naked lady for the first time. No doubt a consequence of the visions Nesta had been shooting down the bond as he’d scanned the shelves and flipped through the pages.
Azriel hated the way you sprang up from the seat and smoothed your dress, like you wanted to be anywhere else but with him. He’d pushed too far. Come on too strong. Damn it.
On the return trip to the Alcove, you and Cassian spoke casually about the books he’d selected. Or rather, Cassian rambled and you listened, occasionally chiming in if you were familiar with one of Nesta’s favorite authors and offering suggestions.
Azriel walked a few paces behind, watching you as you instinctively tightened your back whenever Cassain or anyone else drifted too close, twisting and turning in a manner that seemed effortless, but which Azriel could see was constantly on your mind. There wasn’t a single step you took that was mindless and calm.
Azriel clenched his fists so tightly he felt his nails digging crescent-shaped marks in his palms. He wanted to hold you close, beg you to tell him what was wrong, what he could do to help. But if there was anyone who could understand the fear of being touched, of touching others, it was him.
So when they reached The Alcove, all he did was wave to you from the bottom of the steps as you turned and said goodbye. He committed the scene to memory - your smile, the flush of your cheeks, the swish of your skirt as the door closed shut with a gentle thud.
Cassian whistled low, kicking his brother in the shin with a wobble of books, “You’re whipped, Az. Absolutely whipped.”
And he was right. He was absolutely right.

three.
The traditional post-mission gathering at the pub was in full swing in the late hours of the night, despite it being a Tuesday evening. The atmosphere was almost cosy and relaxed if you were to overlook the three people on the karaoke stage and the way their out-of-sync voices resounded throughout the room.
Seated at one of the tables with a glass of sparkling water, Captain Price exchanged a distressed look with Ghost, who was nursing a shot of Kentucky Bourbon. It was the captain's turn to drive so alcoholic drinks were out of the equation for him.
So he had to spend the entire night watching you, Gaz and Soap getting wasted and trying every form of entertainment the pub offered. You'd started slow with a game of darts, the loser having to drink a shot of whatever the winner decided. As the night progressed you went on to the pool table, had a break to tell stories and debate the key moments of the mission and eventually ended up at the karaoke bar, drunkenly singing to whatever songs were popular at the moment.
You were currently wedged between Gaz and Soap, leaning against each other for support, swaying and gesturing with exaggerated expressions when a new song would come on. You had lost track of the quantity of alcohol you consumed a while ago, yet everything seemed brighter and more colourful than before, so you didn't mind. You didn't know most of the songs that were playing at the karaoke bar, but that did not stop you from singing along, even if your voice was slightly out of tune. What you knew is that you were happy, perhaps happier than ever and, out of a sudden, you felt the need to express that in the loudest way possible, by taking Soap’s phone from his hands and picking the next song.
Surprised by your sudden move, Soap chuckled and gestured to the bartender to prepare three more drinks, even though he had his arm sloppily thrown around your shoulder, and was fighting a tough battle with gravitation. On your right side, Gaz was sloppily reaching towards the microphones, almost tripping over an imaginary wire. You caught him in the last second, grabbing a seat and forcing him to stay put as the first notes of the song echoed through the pub. A surge of drunken determination rushed through your veins as you took one of the microphones and turned towards the table Ghost and Price were seated at, wobbling slightly in the process.
“Captain, Lieutenant - I just… I just wanted to say this is for you. To Price - always being the helicopter, yet cool dad of the group!”. The drunken cheers of Soap’s and Gaz’s quickly accompanied your words, none of them realising how quiet the room had got. Everyone else left in the pub at that hour seemed to put whatever they were doing on hold and watch the inebriated toast with interest.
“And to Ghost!”, you went on unaware of the mood shift, your voice gaining momentum with each word, “who is always taking care of us during missions and let me fall asleep on him once! Cheers!”
Shaking his head in an attempt to hide the grin dancing on his lips, Price raised his glass and beckoned Ghost to do so too. At that moment, Simon was glad he was wearing the balaclava - he could feel an uncharacteristic blush spread across his face, not to mention that he could not control the visible twitching of his lips. The public seemed to be satisfied with the makeshift speech as a round of applause rippled through the crowd, but stopped as suddenly as it began. A familiar tune began to play in the background, and Simon almost pinched his forehead in frustration and disbelief when he saw the drunken determination and the over-confident grin plastered on your face: he had seen that expression before, it meant you were up to no good. His fears were instantly confirmed when the opening chords of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” filled the space, being quickly accompanied by the shouts and whistles coming from the crowd.
You, Gaz and Soap began swaying to the rhythm of the music, humming along to the first part of the song. Ghost was actually impressed that you made it sound nice, keeping your voices low and soft and singing in sync for once. He turned his head to Price, not surprised to see the older man had reached for his phone and was filming the trio like a proud father on recital day.
That is until the part of the choreo came. And literal chaos ensued, as the three of you began screaming because that was definitely not singing, the high notes, even stopping to gasp for air every once in a while.
"I hope life treats you kind And I hope you have all you've dreamed of And I wish you joy and happiness But above all this, I'm wishing you love!"
He did not know when he made eye contact with you, but Simon found himself trapped inside your E/C eyes. The bourbon tasted sweet on his lips, but it did not compare to the joyful and carefree expression you wore on your face as you tried to keep up with the lyrics of the song, occasionally stumbling across Johnny and Kyle who were just as inebriated and dedicated to the artistic moment as you were. The familiar feeling of warmth and comfort was once again blooming in his chest, and for the first time, he decided to let it grow and see where it would take him.
---
You hadn't meant to lock eyes with Simon, definitely not when you were singing a romantic song you handpicked for the occasion. Yet your judgement was clouded by all the alcohol you'd consumed up to that point and now you couldn't tear your eyes away from his chocolate ones. And from his soft blonde eyelashes that made your heart flutter every time you saw them- making you even stutter on the lyrics of the song that you kept close to your heart. At one point you weren't even aware of the words leaving your mouth, just going along with Gaz and Soap, the two literally putting their hearts into the song.
That was until the second part of the choreo came. And you were so into it that you all fell down on your knees, pathetically crying and shrieking the high-pitched notes that Whitney Houston handled with ease.
Simon did not even know why the three of you bothered to come to training and shooting practices. In moments like that, your voices were lethal weapons alone.
And when the song came to an end, the crowd politely applauded you, secretly glad that it was over. Price was careful to save the video twice so as not to lose it, the proud and amused expression on his face not faltering once:
"I think it's high time we took them home, don't you think?", he asked Simon in an unusual cheery mode, downing his glass of sparkling water.
Ghost could only nod as his eyes were trained on your swaying figure. You were leaning against Gaz, a drunken smile on your face as you downed the drink the bartender slid to you with a wink. For a moment, Simon was too caught up in studying the way your eyes crinkled at the corners to notice them widen in an instant as you brought up a hand to your mouth. His jaw tightened when he realised you were stumbling towards the bathroom, probably sick from one too many a drink, and subtly gestured to Price that he'd get you and meet him at the car, before heading towards the bathroom himself.
However, he slowed down in his steps when he realised he wasn't the only one headed in that direction; the bartender had already beaten him to it. Ghost stopped dead in his tracks, his fists involuntarily clenching as he noticed the man standing near the entrance to the ladies' room, wearing an almost expectant expression, his gaze directed towards the toilets. The sound of you throwing up was the only thing that could be heard against the muffled background sound of the pub, followed eventually by the rush of flushing water.
Washing your hands and face, you took a look at your pale face in the mirror, closing your eyes in defeat. It was definitely time to call it a night and find a ride home or crash on someone's couch, and you accepted the thought as you made your way out of the restroom. Yet you didn't manage to go far as a man you vaguely recognized as the bartender stopped in front of you, hands crossed over his chest in what was supposed to be a masculine stance. You internally scoffed at his posture; you have seen it all during the years you've spent in the military.
"Hey!", he eventually said, a light smile on his face. "Hello! Do you mind, I would like to go back to my friends?", you briefly asked, already trying to sneak past him.
But the man was insistent and stepped in the same direction, making you stop once more.
"Look, I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the show you put on tonight!". You raised a single eyebrow, a poker look on your face. "You and your friends, I mean!", he quickly added, blushing slightly. "And I was just wondering if you would like to stay for a drink after my shift is over and, you know, perhaps go to my place afterwards and…" Rolling your eyes in frustration, you let out an impatient sigh and tried to go past him again, only to be stopped by a firm grip on your arm.
"Look, you should really think about it-" "I wouldn't do that if I were you. She may be drunk, but she can still kick your ass in at least six different ways."
Drunk as you were, you couldn't hide the grin that spread quickly across your face as you took in the imposing figure of the Lieutenant, his skull balaclava lending him a threatening air in the dim light of the hallway. The bartender swiftly let you go, his eyes darting between you two as you staggered towards Ghost, too busy to fully take him in to take note of the hand that was softly placed on the small of your back.
"Oh, mate, I think this is a misunderstanding! I was just… but who the hell are you actually? Do you know him, darling?"
You grimaced at the unjustified use of the endearment, a plain expression of distaste replacing the previous smile. You swayed slightly, having to lean against Ghost as you mumbled something unintelligible about the toast. An unexpected wave of fatigue hit you out of nowhere, making you nestle your head against his chest, your arms weakly wrapping around his shoulders.
"I'm tired, I wanna go home, Ghost!", you murmured gently into his shirt, the vibrations of your voice sending a quiver down his spine. Yet if Ghost was affected by the unexpected display of clinginess, he did not let it show. Instead, he made a quick job of scooping you into his arms, your head nestling in the crook of his neck. Letting out a satisfied sigh, you closed your eyes and unconsciously nuzzled your cheek against the soft material of the balaclava, breathing in the scent of his cologne, your hands still clinging onto his shoulders in a koala-like grip.
For a fleeting moment, he became utterly oblivious to his surroundings, his mind consumed by the moment, struggling to make sense of the situation in which both of you had found yourselves. He didn't exactly freeze, but his brain didn't work properly either as the feeling of your breaths against his balaclava sent an electrifying jolt through him. You may have just washed your face and the perfume you wore must have faded during the night, but the subtle smell of your shampoo lingered, sweet enough to leave an impression that he knew would stay with him for the days to come. When he eventually realised you weren't alone, that the bartender was still loitering by the restroom's entrance, Ghost shrugged, remembering your previous words:
"You should have listened to the toast, mate!"
---
Carrying you to Price's pickup trunk proved to be no easy feat for Simon; he was too distracted by the hold you had on him, both literally and figuratively. It was as if his mind had turned to jelly and he could not distinguish dream from reality. And at that moment, he experienced the sensation of living within a pleasant dream, you being in his arms just as he often yearned for when trying to fall asleep in the solitude of his room.
If Price was surprised by the state you found yourself in, he showed no signs. He had just managed to secure Soap in the passenger seat, while Gaz was passed out in the back, head leaning against the window, an empty look on his face.
"I'm sorry Simon but you'll have to sit in the middle tonight", the captain chuckled under his breath as he was watching Ghost put two and two together while you were still clinging to him as if your life depended on it.
He would not be able to get in the car while also preserving the position you found yourself in, yet he did not want to give it up. For a passing instant, he actually thought of walking to your place- a weak attempt at trying to make the moment last longer. But he could feel Price's badly concealed smirk like the heat of the sun in July and he had to fight, actually fight the groan that threatened to leave him as he nudged you with his shoulder.
"Wake up, Bambi! We've got to get you home, come on!" His words reached your ears as a distant sound and instead, you chose to relish in the vibrations that resonated against your skin, letting out a small hum of approval.
"Ok means okay, come on!" "Mhm, sure…" "Y/N…" "Simon…"
Clinging on him like a koala had no visible effect on him, but you saying his name, his real name, made Ghost freeze and set his dark eyes on you. He could not control the cocktail of feelings swimming in his orbs, ranging from surprise to pure adoration, and the thought of hiding them did not even cross his mind at that moment.
Until you were both showered in a sudden burst of light, quickly followed by a camera shutter. Behind the Polaroid camera, Price did not even bother to hide his satisfied expression as he watched the picture develop with a soft whirring sound.
You, on the other hand, instantly jumped from Ghost's arms, the flash of the camera making you look like a deer caught in the headlights. You were still inebriated, as the world was spinning much more than it should have, but the drowsiness from earlier had evaporated in an instant. Shaking his head in disbelief and muttering something along the lines of "fucking hell", Ghost did not even bother to answer Soap's cheers. He just squeezed into the backseat of Price's car, seating himself next to Gaz and trying his best to ensure you would not hit your head and get in safely. And the giddy smile he got as a response was worth it.
Price was the last to get in the car. As he positioned himself behind the wheel, Ghost couldn't help but wonder where he'd hidden the Polaroid camera and the picture. Knowing the older man, he could only hope the instant shot would not be displayed in the lounging room, alongside other just as embarrassing moments.
Not that he had something against you or the picture.
He just thought that the moment was rather special, even intimate to him and that it should not be shared with all other SAS operators who spent their time in the lounging room when on base.
"You three did quite a show out there!", Price half-turned towards Soap and the backseat riders, a comic expression on his face.
"Thanks, dad!", you replied in an awfully cheery tone, swaying slightly from one side to another. You kept humming to yourself, not taking note of the awkward silence that had settled in the car.
"Bambi, did you just call Price 'dad'?", Soap asked from the front seat, his shit-eating grin being reflected in the rearview mirror.
"Do you see me as a father figure, Y/N?", Price quipped in, smiling softly at your confused expression. Simon did not even dare to glance in your direction - he knew the doe eyes were making a comeback and he was definitely not inebriated enough to handle them.
"I certainly do!"
Gaz's voice was muffled as his cheek was currently squished against the window. But the message got across and you reached across Ghost to pat his shoulder, aggressively nodding in compliance.
"And this is why", you began by raising a finger in the air as if to strengthen your point, "you are my brother, Gaz!".
Your drunken determination was almost comical to watch, but it topped when you squealed in excitement:
"Let me give you a kiss!"
"No, you won't! I'm definitely not getting caught up in the middle of this!"
Ghost's answer, more of a growl actually, was instantly followed by Soap's booming laughter as the Scot was trying to turn and face the backseat, extending a grabby hand towards you:
"I'm happily accepting your kisses if you'll let me, bonnie!", he slurred half of the sentence, his head comfortably propped on the headrest as he puckered his lips in your direction.
"No one's getting any kisses!"
----
"Come on, careful, there's a step there!" "I wanna go home…" "We are almost there, Bambi. Now, do you have your key?" "Yeah, it should be in my pocket. Let me… let me look for it…"
Murmuring to yourself, you fished the keychain and held it before your eyes, a small chuckle escaping your lips as the keys kept jingling. The tiredness from the pub was making a comeback and Ghost had to carry you inside after he managed to open the door while also balancing your swaying silhouette.
"Oh, this couch looks good!", you muttered to yourself, letting yourself fall on it.
But instead of touching the plush pillows, you felt two strong arms sneaking around your waist and keeping you partially suspended in the air. You opened your mouth to protest, but before you were aware of it, you were headed in the direction of your bedroom, a warm hand placed on the small of your back.
"You should change into something more comfortable…", Ghost muttered, frowning when you started shaking your head and slurring: "I'll do it in the morning."
He already felt like he was prying, being inside your home, in the privacy of your bedroom, so he did not push the topic and instead, knelt down and removed your sneakers.
"You should at least clean your face." He pressed on the issue, all too aware of your fixation with skincare and how you would complain to anyone on the base about the latest breakout on your face. "Mhm.." "Mhm means yes, Bambi!", he groaned in frustration as he bent down to scoop you in his arms again and carried you to the bathroom, where he laid you on the fitted furniture so that your faces were at the same level.
Ghost was no stranger to makeup removal techniques - he had his fair share of experiences he had gone through when learning what worked best for the black paint he used to smudge the area around his eyes. But he began to grow tired as well, and being in your house took him way out of his comfort zone, so he resumed reaching for a pack of makeup wipes, instead of looking for a cleansing balm or micellar water. His touch was gentle against your face, his fingers applying the suitable amount of pressure needed to get rid of any traces of eyeshadow and whatnot. There was a faint tremor in his hand when he reached your lips, but the remnants of lipstick had to be removed too.
He was not prepared for the sudden shiver that raced down his spine the moment his fingertips brushed against your lips. His breath hitched, his heart skipping a beat as he continued to delicately trace the outline of your lips, the warm and comforting sensation he'd felt before, making a return. For a moment, the room seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of you locked at the moment, Ghost's eyes fervently searching for yours, as he rested a gloved hand against your face.
Letting out a soft sigh, you closed your eyes and leaned into his touch.
"Don't fall asleep on me…", Ghost hummed under his breath, involuntarily rubbing his thumb against your cheek. His gentle touch was a far cry from the deadly one that had become second nature on the battlefield.
"I trust you'll catch me", you whispered back, a delicate smile on your face.
And he did. With a tender grin under his balaclava, Ghost lifted you into his arms once more, cradling you like the treasure you were. Your head rested against his chest as he carried you back to your bedroom, each step filled with a quiet intimacy, completely new to him.
He entered the dark room, gently lying you down on the soft sheets, almost amazed at how quickly you passed out, again. Yes, you may have been wasted, completely inebriated, but you also trusted him to let him take care of you in your state.
Even if the action was foreign to him, Ghost tucked you in as best as he could, gently brushing a strand of hair from your face. His internal conflict was a raging storm, but he eventually let the few shots of bourbon get to his head. With shaky gestures, he peeled the mask up to his nose and brought his lips to your forehead in a chaste kiss. His warm breath lingered over your face for a couple of seconds before he quietly exited the room, leaving you in a peaceful slumber.
---
Bonus scene
Sitting by himself at the small table in the kitchen, Simon lifted the balaclava up to his nose and breathed in the scent of Earl Grey, a satisfied sigh leaving his lips. He could see the tendrils of steam rolling out of the freshly brewed mug, the late autumn morning sun filtering through the blinds and bathing the room in warmth and light.
After every single evening spent celebrating in the pub, you, Gaz and Soap had to take the day off and volunteer yourselves for the night watch. Ghost had grown so accustomed to the usual agitation, whether it was Gaz jogging in the kitchen for a snack, Soap casually napping in the lounging room, or you, asking everyone where they had hidden the cookies, and he was finding it weird to spend the day in relative silence and peace.
And he was so lost in his thoughts, replaying the events of the previous night in his head, that he failed to notice the private who was lingering in the doorway and looking at him with a mixture of fear and admiration. It wasn't until he reached for the milk, that he took note of his presence and gave him a questioning look. "Captain Price asked me to deliver this personally to you, sir!" The private placed a white envelope on the table, saluted and quickly left the room. Simon had no time to analyze the interaction as his eyes settled on the letter.
Only it was not a letter, but a photograph. And after double checking, he was alone in the room, Simon actually let out a small chuckle as he held the polaroid in the sunlight, his eyes softening at the sight of you cradled in his arms, nuzzling your head against his chest.

IX - BETTER WATCH HOW YOU THINK OUT LOUD, IF IT'S 'BOUT ME THOUGH 📜
Sitting relaxed Rio watches the sun cast golden hues on you as it prepares to set. The ocean sprays along the boat as dolphins lead the charge ahead of the boat ushering you back to the resort. The day had been incredible. The two of you had shared several moments of firsts. Your connection could not be denied. It was way too strong so much so that you felt like you were in sync. Turning around you find Rio watching as you hold over the edge of the boat to watch the dolphins. Your eyes find each other and he nods giving you an encouraging smile. He admired how much you enjoyed every bit of effort he put into the trip. It makes him want to do even more to keep a smile on your face. He made a mental note to tip the member of the hotel staff well for recommending the set of excursions that he had. Rio had asked what were the bestsellers for couples and women and then booked accordingly. The day started ziplining which was rough considering the night's festivities but after a nap during the ride to swim with dolphins you were ready for the day. He’d been around you long enough to detect any personality defects, and found none. Building a business meant great people management skills. He couldn't think of any sensible reason for James’ cheating. Instead, he understood why James was being such an asshole about letting you go. Smiling Rio takes a video of you looking at the dolphins happily. Wearing a cheeky bikini bottom and short sarong, the video would only be for him but he would keep the memory nonetheless.
“Rio, come see!” you call him over. He obliges despite not giving a single fuck about the dolphins, fish and everything else exciting you at the moment. He smiles mostly at your excitement. “It’s so gorgeous, thank you for this” you smile looking up at him.
“You’re welcome” Rio nods.
You sit enjoying the sunset as the boat takes a scenic way to the doc by the resort. Rio settles feeling you next to him, his mind is on what will happen when you return home. There were a couple of properties he was managing, he would schedule some showings and do his best to respect your need for space if that's what you needed. Only he’d already started shifting his schedule to be around most nights, he would have to find someone to keep eyes on James too just in case the entitled fuck decided to do anything sneaky.
“Did you have fun?” you ask, interrupting Rio's thoughts. He smiles nodding, he did but not for the same reasons as you.
Rio nods, “I enjoyed myself.”
“I don't think you did” You respond both amused and appreciative that he’d taken the time to make today all about you and your enjoyment.
“I enjoyed seeing you enjoy yourself. I like making money and taking care of my people.” Rio says, a simple man. Looking him over you realise he’d revealed no vices during the entire trip. He didn’t drink too much and there were no frequent smoke breaks. His eyes never lingered on the assortment of scantily clad women scattered around the resort. No flirting, or whispering on the phone and he seemed too proud to lie. He’d also managed to make you feel considered every step of the way.
“Well I had an incredible time, I’m really really really happy you invited me out here and made it so special.” you smile smothering him with quick kisses in your giddiness.
“I know,” Rio nods, pecking your forehead.
Getting off the boat you walk hand in hand with him through the resort and towards your room. You pass by a group of his family eating and the smirk on Nick’s face is unsettling. Marisol looks apologetic but it’s Tia’s eyes that catch yours. She stands coming over and pulling both you and Rio away.
“Rio, can I talk to Y/N quickly?” she asks.
“No” Rio interjects holding your hand tighter. “What is it?” He asks.
“Come here sweetie” Marisol says standing and reaching for you only for Rio to grab your wrist.
“She ain’t going nowhere, what the fuck is up?” Rio snaps getting upset.
“She's married” Nick mocks glaring at Rio. Everyone tenses but Rio who relaxes much to everyone's shock.
“See, I told you there was more to the story!” Marisol says to Nick reading Rio’s body language and Tia rolls her neck at Nick with folded arms.
“What happened?” you ask.
“James, whoever the fuck that is messaged all of us.” Tia signs and Rio loosens his grip.
“What did it say?” you ask as your anger surges. She hands you her phone allowing you to read it.
Hello Tia, I regret to inform you that I have discovered an ongoing affair between your cousin and my wife. This situation has caused immense pain and distress to our family. I am reaching out to you in hopes that you can address this matter with your cousin directly. It is crucial that this affair ends immediately for the well-being of all parties involved. My wife and I have a loving relationship, and this indiscretion is merely a result of her current state of boredom and emotional instability. Continuing this affair will only lead to more hurt and damage. I implore you to intervene and help put an end to this destructive behaviour. Your cousin risks significant emotional harm if this continues. Please, for the sake of both our families, help bring this to an end.
Looking up from the phone embarrassed isn’t the word. You flush overheating as you become nauseated. Your eyes water looking at the lies.
“He sent this to all of you?” Rio asks, having read the message too.
“Everyone tagged me on my story last night, got one” Tia explains.
“Christopher” Marisol interjects as Rio’s anger reaches a ten.
“You okay?” Rio asks, taking your chin. Blinking you close your eyes and tears run down. “Hey, he’s lying don't cry” Rio says trying to calm you down.
“I need some time alone” you swallow turning away from the crowd as the walls close in around you. Your hands and face are hot. Emotionally unstable?! You feel it now as you head to the room feeling crazy. Heading into the room you try to regulate your breathing and manage to dial James number from memory. It goes to voicemail but youre so angry you call five more times until he picks up.
“Who is this?”James’ voice says grating your nerves.
“You piece of shit!” you shout.
“Mexico really!?” he shouts back. “And youre so fucking messy youre there with another man, and you have the audacity to post him and be kissing him at the airport while being married-”
“You're so beyond unbelievable JAMES!” You scream. “YOU’RE FUCKING A BIMBO FOR MONTHS AND I DON’T CALL HER, I DON’E MESSAGE HER I LEAVE YOU TO ALONE! YET YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO DIVORCE ME AND LET ME BE IN PEACE. YOU ALWAYS TOLD ME KEEP PEOPLE OUT OF OUR RELATIONSHIP AND YOU MESSAGE HIS FAMILY WITH BULLSHIT ABOUT US BEING IN LOVE. I WAS EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE WHEN I SAID I DO AT THAT ALTER, I’VE BEEN EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE OUR ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP TO LET YOU TREAT ME LIKE AN AFTERTHOUGHT AND A PERSONAL ASSISTANT BUT I’M DONE WITH THAT. I’M DONE WITH YOU! DON’T CALL ME OR MY MOTHER OR ANY OF THE PEOPLE I ASSOCIATE WITH.”
“Calm down” he responds, gaslighting you further. You nearly blow a gasket. There's a knock at the door and you swallow trying to remain calm as you head to the door. Marisol’s sympathetic expression awaits outside the door. Overwhelmed, you step back to let her in. If you could disappear you would.
“Baby, where are you? I’ll book a flight and be there as soon as you need me to be” James continues driving you crazy.
“James, I don't want you and after what you did today I never want to see you again, don’t call me, don't write me, don't call my mom, my friends or my family!” you snap.
“Then stop posting! If you wouldn't have posted for everyone to see I wouldn't have had to intervene you're taking this too far. This guy whoever he is doesn't mean well, you're vulnerable he's taking advantage” James’ words are just more manipulation.
“Speak for yourself” you scoff. “I’ve never done anything to deserve what you did and what you’ve done to me today” you snap.
“I’m not sorry, at least it made you call,” he says, making your ears ring. It’s Marisol that hangs up the phone on your behalf. You take deep breaths as her eyes hold yours. She looks horrified.
“I’m sorry I’m ruining your wedding trip” You apologise, feeling horrible.
“The fact that you're even apologising after that tells me everything I need to know” she swallows, shaking her head at James' abounding audacity. “I’m sorry about Nick, he thinks you're too good for Rio and it would be a funny aha moment if you were playing him. It was just a shocking message you know” she apologises.
“Marisol, there’d be no apologies if it weren't for my drama on your wedding vacation.” You apologise.
“Girl, there’s always drama. I don't care about a party more than I care about a human being. James will pay for this mess I promise you that. Nick owes us big time for that stunt back there, I can imagine your divorce hearing will be expedited and after those messages. We’ll explore an injunction for both a gag and restraining order. Besides, his actions will do wonders for pain and suffering - extra alimony. We can talk and I can report on emotional abuse.” Marisol says in full therapist, problem solver mode.
“Really?” you can't contain your surprise.
“Really sweetie, now that you're okay I’ve got to make sure Rio doesn’t kill the guy or Nick first” she says.
“Please, James isn't worth it the drama” you mutter.
“I will try, just decompress and relax unless you want me to call him here?” Marisol asks.
“It’s alright, just please apologise to everyone for me” you repeat and she smiles.
“Fuck that asshole James” She says and theres a knock on the door. You open it and Tia walks in with a tray of treats. Marisol leaves and Tia stays sitting with you in the cozy living room. It’s the venting session you’ve missed out on. You video call your mother too and the three of you talk everything out. It ends letting you feel lighter. You order room service and eat with Tia once your mom ends the call. You tell her about your day trying your hardest not to let James ruin all of Rio’s planning. It’s how he finds you when he comes in smelling like weed. His energy is tense as he nods heading in the bathroom.
“You think he’s mad at me?” you ask Tia as she checks her phone.
“Nope” she smiles showing you a video of you and the dolphins today. There’s no caption, only the business is tagged as well as you. You smile too. “Your James might be used to winning, but nobody beats Rio” she says getting up.
“It’s dark Tia, let me walk you back to your villa” Rio says emerging from the bathroom.
“I was leaving, asshole, you don’t have to be like that and rush me out” she stands fanning him off.
“Keep playing with me and I’ll tell Granny what you be doing with her zucchini loaf” Rio warns. Tia deadpans pretending to zip her lips.
“Y/N say you have an allergy. It’s dis-gus-ting!” Tia warns, making you laugh.
“Can I come with you guys?” you ask.
“You don't need permission, you're grown” Tia smiles, linking arms in yours. The walk to Tia’s side of the resort is about ten minutes and full of her colourful personality. Once she’s settled you take Rio’s hand he hasn’t said much to you since James stunt. He takes your hands and kisses them before pulling you in.
“Don’t apologise” he says before you can.
“I made you look bad to your family” you say.
“Nah, you made Nick look terrible. Everyone sat there ripping him a new one. I don’t owe them explanations but I told them about James and it’s settled” Rio says and you smile feeling overwhelmed by his support.
“I’m happy he cheated. If he didnt I wouldnt be here with you. Today was amazing and you’ve been a godsend through all of this. I know you tell me not to thank you but I really appreciate everything” your words are from the heart.
“You deserve it, people always get what they deserve. James will too for making you cry” he says and you nod trusting him with a smile. Ready for war you post more pictures from today to fan the flames. Rio’s family members along with yours rally in the comments hyping you up. You ignore any DM’s from James' family and smile when you see Tia addressing the chaos in your comments, airing out the truth to James. You watch attentively, refreshing until the comments from disgruntled family members of James’ start disappearing and make a mental note to take Tia to dinner.
Rio sits on the couch watching it too from his personal phone getting more and more pissed. Having had it with showing restraint he calls his people, as much as he wants to personally make James pay there’s no way to from here. He gets a two for one special on James taking both of his women out of the picture. His instructions are as follows. Make Japan an offer she won’t refuse to leave town and end communication with James. Scare her real bad. It’s the least of what she deserves for being complicit in your harassment. It has to be done tonight. Rio wants absolutely nothing to allow James to feel safe or content in his life. No woman to slide into, no one to listen to him, no one to call. James couldn’t play with you, not anymore. His mental health accusation would ultimately come back to bite him in the ass when Rio was through. Rio’s second set of instructions were for the cheating bastard James himself. He knew James would be at a bar tonight. He was the type. First Rio’s boys would be friendly while James drank. After James started talking too much they’d start to taunt him quietly. With the liquor in his system it wouldn't be long until a fight started. Only James wouldn't win this one getting the brakes beat out of him. He’d tried restraint but it was clear now more than ever that James needed to be broken and put out of commission. Nothing else would stop him from messing with you.
Pausing from the instruction Rio ponders if there’s anything else. Hearing the bedroom door open he ends the call after giving his people the green light.
“You alright?” he asks, eyeing the third of your lingerie sets. He makes a mental note to check the tags and buy out the store. When you sit in his lap instead of the free seat beside him he relaxes instantly.
“Yeah, you?” you ask him as he adjusts you for his own comfort.
“Better now” he nods.
“I’m exhausted from today baby, can you come to bed so we can sleep?” you ask him and he sees it in your eyes. He had a romantic dinner planned to commemorate the last night. He’d planned to ask you to be his properly, officially to clear any confusion but of course James fucked that up.
“My ego isn't so fragile you gotta tip toe around being tired mama.” Rio smiles reading between the lines. Though his appetite for you felt insatiable he didn’t view you as his personal sex-slave regardless of any jokes he’d made in the past.
“It’s not about your ego Rio, I know what it’s like to be unappreciated and I don't want to be that person” you yawn. Rio leads the both of you to the bedroom. Pulling the sheets back he watches you get under the covers first before settling in himself. You fall asleep in no time but Rio’s slower to go. He watches you sleep, each breath quells his anger until he drifts off too knowing ain’t shit sweet or peaceful for James tonight.
Author's note: Whew, chile this one was a rollercoaster. I feel like thats how it goes sometimes, unfortunately. Can we believe the ish James pulled? Like the audacity of him to send that mass message. At least Rio has some real ones in his family. Let me know what your favourite part was?

RULE OF THIRDS
high school is home for a lot of things, including jealousy and drama. My ex's misery is your enjoyment this time! this is love triangles, with the wind breaker men. warnings for manga spoilers (last blurb), drinking, ooc ume (sawrryyyy) !! tagging @kaiser1ns !!
A NIGHT OF REVELATIONS.
REN KAJI, featuring TOMA HIRAGI
ren kaji set aside his ego and pride to attend some afterparty because he knew you would be there. that meant a lot.
and at first, everything was… fine? he stepped out of his comfort zone, headphones down as he listened to the beats of the music which played over the speakers. his eyes met yours, with you linking your pinky with his.
"what? you wanna dance with me?" he questioned, his tone almost accusatory. it was what he wanted more than anything, yet he made it sound as if it was your desire. the mere thought of your skin grazing his made his heart want to burst out of his chest.
"you want me to dance to feid? no fucking way rennie, i don't dance to that. plus, you should take care of toma, he's on another planet."
sure, the song was ass, yet he still felt his heart shatter. he watched as you waltzed away, heading towards your friend group to chat. kaji turned his head to the side, only to find his upperclassmen staring back at him. his bloodshot eyes were puffy, lips pursed before he raised an almost empty bottle of god-knows-what to his lips.
great. now he has to babysit.
when he sat down next to hiragi, kaji had a bad feeling.
“m’gonna do it tonight, kaji.”
call it foresight, or a crazy good intuition, but ren kaji knew his heart would sink this very night. “good” he hummed. it was the only thing to come out of his mouth, as he felt his stomach churn from the anxiety.
“ya sure ya don’t feel anything for her?”
“all good” he squeaked, “let me know how it goes.”
when he found you a while later, kaji was stunned. there you were, drunk out of your mind and blowing smoke out of your pretty lips, body swaying to one of fanny lu's greatest hits.
with kota. fucking. sako.
it was a night of revelations, seeing as the once grumpy blond had a tiny smile on his face, mouthing the lyrics to don juan while facing you. his stiff body was now in sync with yours, chuckles escaping your lips as you commented on how great of a dancer he was.
kaji saw you stumble, and he took that as a sign. he knew he had to care for you. that, and the fact that he also had to get you away from sako, for his own mental wellbeing. with his hand getting ahold of yours, kaji guided you to a more secluded space of the patio, patting your head and asking if you're okay.
"you should go home, yn. you've had enough to drink."
when he asked to hang with you the day after, kaji was wary. sitting down next to one another in one of cactus bakery's booths, he sighed.
"you got home safe?"
"mhm."
"you didn't dance with me."
"yeah, i didn't."
"you did with sako, though."
resting your head on his shoulder, you laughed. "fanny lu is certainly not denied to anyone! if you had chosen another song other than feid's, i certainly would've danced with you, rennie."
a small smile appeared on his face as his mind raced on about what could have been the greatest night of his life, only to come back to his senses after he realized it could have been someone else's.
"anything else happen?"
"yeah" you shrugged, "hiragi texted me this morning, said he liked me."
he froze. since when was he hiragi to you?
"…well, what'd you say?"
ren kaji thought he was going to die.
"turned him down. he's like a brother to me, and i made that abundantly clear. he took it well, so that's that! he thanked me for being so mature about it."
last night was now certainly the greatest night of kaji's life, as he realized he still has a chance.
WHEN ONE STORY CLOSES, ANOTHER OPENS.
HAJIME UMEMIYA, featuring JO TOGAME
hajime umemiya was going to pop a blood vessel when he saw none other than shishitoren's second-in-command's hand holding yours, noses nearly grazing each other as he leaned down to whisper in your ear. your giggles, which were once his favorite tune, were now like nails on a chalkboard.
because it was togame who made you laugh.
his anger was indetectable, a smile plastered on his face as he observed the way in which you laughed at his jokes, how you tilted your head to the side and looked at him with those alluring eyes of yours, how you reached out to him when talking.
screw that, it was so obvious that umemiya was fucking jealous, as his eyes were squinted, his face had an expression of disgust, and one could swear that his left eyelid was trembling.
when you went to him a few days later telling him you had exchanged socials with togame, umemiya simply nodded with a smile on his face, congratulating you on how well things were going. he thought his soul was going to leave his body.
"he said he used to play street ball, and he played as a striker, and he wants to play volleyball with me! can you believe that, ume?"
"that's great, y/n! y'know i used to play street ball too, i was well-known for that back in the day, i used to play for my middle school as a striker" he grinned, his hand rubbing the back of his neck. "i could teach you to play both sports if you'd like! you wouldn't have to hop onto shishitoren turf that way."
hajime umemiya was utterly adorable.
that same night you received a text.
UME !! <3 This Thursday me and my siblings are gonna play ball! You wanna join?
umemiya's t-shirt fit you like a glove.
having little attire for a match, umemiya offered to gift you one of his shirts for you to play in, and the white and baby blue stripes made you look fantastic. to him, you were an angel sent from heaven to bless his eyes, as well as the football 'field'.
after playing like total lunatics, umemiya sat down cross-legged in the middle of the park's grass, you laying down and having your head resting on his thighs.
what umemiya wanted to do in that moment was kiss you senseless.
"hey ume… can you help me with something?"
"sure thing."
"togame's sort of being a bit pushy, and i don't have any interest in him at all. can you take a picture with me so that he'll shoo?"
his eyes sparkled more than the world's most expensive diamond. he excitedly nodded, asking you to open your phone's camera as he gently moved so that he laid beside you, resting his head on your shoulder and his arm wrapped around your waist.
click!
umemiya felt like the luckiest man in the world when he found out togame had seen your story with him and had suddenly ghosted you.
GOOD PEOPLE, GOOD DEEDS.
HARUKA SAKURA, featuring YAMATO ENDO
when haruka sakura heard of a certain someone's temporary return to furin, he thought nothing of it. except for when that certain someone came waltzing up to him after seeing him interact with you a few minutes prior, a smug smile on his face.
"so, sakura! mind slippin' me her number?"
"huh?"
"yeah! that girl you were talking to before, she's totally my type."
"and why the hell would i do that?"
endo laughed as he placed his arm on sakura's shoulders, seeing how the boy in question's face turned beet red. "because, sakura, you're a good person! good people do good deeds!"
there was no way in hell haruka sakura was giving him your number. matter of fact, he didn't budge!
so why in the fuck were you giggling in front of him at pothos, telling him yamato endo was in your messages asking you out to breakfast?
sakura's eye started to twitch as he asked how he got your number, nearly spitting out his omelette rice when you told him nirei had given him your number. when you told him that endo was planning on coming to furin on saturday to meet up with you, his face became a newfound shade of red. whether it was from anger or from endo's affection towards you, he did not know.
friday came by, and to sakura's surprise…
"oh gosh, haru!"
"what's going on?"
"endo cancelled breakfast, said he couldn't make it since he's on his turf and can't come to bofurin's."
"'s a shit move to cancel last minute."
"but, tsubaki told me there's a party over at keisei street tomorrow night. wanna come with? i don't wanna go alone."
sakura's ears and cheeks were flushed as he stuttered a reply: a meek and simple 'yeah'. you smiled as you wrapped your arms around sakura, too excited to even let him react. when saturday night came around, you thought you were going to die.
yamato endo was in keisei street, grinding on another girl as he asked for her number.
your jaw dropped to the floor. to your surprise, sakura was even more enraged than you were. grabbing your wrist, he dragged you over to a bench, sitting you down and placing your head on his shoulder.
"let it out."
confused, you asked what he meant by it. he laid his head on top of yours, with you feeling how his stiff body slowly softened as he sighed.
"i said let it out. yer obviously hurt by that asshole, so let it out."
your sobs were swallowed by the blaring music, but for some reason, the sadness quickly faded away, instead being replaced with a sense of tranquility. as if you belonged there, with sakura by your side.
sakura was sure that yamato endo was a good person, doing him a favor by leaving you all to himself.
note. this is for my boyfriend. this is what you get for calling me your stinky poo. i am not a poo. the poos are your friends who tried to get with me later on. or perchance the poo has been you all along, because you did not give one shit that they liked me and you made your move. love always, your princess.
update 15/10: this is for my ex. you deserved this because you're a piece of shit who literally (allegedly) got with your best friend's (the character behind endo) girlfriend. fuck you you piece of trash.

Patricio O'Ward (Arrow McLaren) - Brownie Points
Requested: yes
Prompt: baking w Pato🥺
Warnings: none
Pato pushed open the front door, letting out a long sigh as he stepped inside. His body felt heavy from the weekend of racing, and his muscles ached with exhaustion. He was bone-tired, but a small smile tugged at his lips when he thought about getting home. "Y/n?" He called, his voice a bit hoarse from shouting instructions over the roar of engines all weekend. Silence greeted him. He frowned slightly, kicking off his shoes by the door and dropping his bags by the stairs. Before he could call again, he heard the soft patter of paws on the hardwood floor. Norbi, a fluffy bundle of excitement, bounded over, tail wagging furiously. Pato chuckled, bending down to ruffle the fur of his loyal friend. "Hey, buddy." He murmured, his fingers scratching behind the dog's ears. "Where's Y/n, huh?"
He glanced around, noticing the dim lighting in the living room and the soft glow spilling out from the kitchen door. "Ah." He muttered to himself with a grin, standing up and making his way over. As he approached, he could hear faint music. He peered into the kitchen doorway, and his heart warmed instantly. Y/n was there, headphones perched on her head, moving to her own rhythm. She was dancing around with a whisk in one hand, a bowl in the other, completely lost in whatever she was mixing.
Pato couldn't help but smile wider, leaning against the doorframe to watch. She was humming softly, her movements light and carefree. Every now and then, she'd do a little spin, lost in her own world. His exhaustion began to melt away at the sight, replaced by a gentle sense of peace. Just then, Y/n spun again, her eyes catching sight of him. She let out a little shriek, nearly dropping the bowl. "Pato!" She exclaimed, a grin spreading across her face. She set down the bowl and hurried over, throwing her arms around him in a warm hug.
He chuckled, hugging her back tightly, burying his face in her hair. "Hey." He murmured, kissing her hair. "I didn’t mean to scare you." She laughed, pulling back just enough to look up at him. "I was in the middle of my concert. When did you get back?" She joked. "Just now." He said, his eyes twinkling as he glanced past her to the bowl on the counter. "What are you making?" He leaned over, looking at the dark brown mixture in the bowl. "Brownies." She replied, her smile growing wider. "Figured you'd want something sweet after a tough weekend." He smiled warmly. "I'llgive you brownie points for that. Need any help?"
"Always." She teased, handing him the whisk. "You can stir." He took it with a chuckle, stepping in beside her. "As long as I can lick the spoon too." Together, they mixed the batter, their shoulders brushing as they worked in sync. For a few minutes, they were lost in the simple joy of baking together, his fatigue momentarily forgotten. Once the brownies were in the oven, he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'm gonna go shower, be back in a bit."
"Alright." She nodded, watching as he headed upstairs. She turned back to clean up the kitchen, wiping down counters and putting away ingredients. After a while, Pato returned, his hair still damp from the shower, a fresh t-shirt and sweatpants clinging to his still-warm skin. He walked over just in time to see Y/n carefully cutting the brownies into squares, their delicious aroma filling the kitchen. "Ooh, dont mind if I do." Without hesitation, he reached out to grab one. "Careful." Y/n warned with a laugh, "They’re still ho-" But it was too late. He had already taken a bite, wincing as the heat hit his tongue. "Puta!" He exclaimed, half-laughing, half-grimacing. Y/n quickly moved closer, a playful smile on her lips. "Told you." She teased softly. Leaning in, she kissed him gently, her lips lingering against his. The sudden sweetness of the kiss made him melt, forgetting the sting on his tongue and the tiredness in his bones.
When she pulled back, he smiled at her, his eyes soft with affection. "Okay, that didn't help with the burn, but it definitely made me feel better." He smiled, his eyes filled with pure love and adoration for his girlfriend. Y/n laughed, her eyes sparkling. "Good. That's all that matters." He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. "Yeah, it really is." He paused. "Thank you." Her hands cupped his cheeks, wiping the chocolate crumbs from his stubbled chin. "You don't have to thank me, you just need to let me lit the spoon next time."

I got the yellow eyed idea from the blog fhrlclln! Idk if she mind being tagged, but please check out her blog and some of her fics!
They say when the devils come, your flesh will burn and blister. Turning into ash. Wives will dance in gowns of fire. Laughing. Shrieking. As they burn, lewd and naked underneath the flames. You shall see children weeping, weeping. Till their eyes melt and slide down like jelly. Till their pink flesh falls back and crackling comes from their bones.
The strangers come, he comes, she comes. To scourge us for our sins. Tears can not quench the flames. Tears can not quench the thirst of a dragon. Only blood.
His blood. Her blood.
Fire and blood.
Blood and fire.
༯༯༯
He thought you were a sleeping beauty, with the way you laid, still, in the glass coffin shaped box. Hands neatly placed and folded over your mid-section, hair placed perfectly framing your face. A light baby blue hue shined down on you making your skin glow. You looked well groomed and dressed. He guessed the Jedi really do care for their own. Yet he snickered at the thought. Yeah, right. His fingers lightly traced over the top of the glass, directly over your body. His mask amplifies his breathing as it increases, as his fingers travel upwards, your breathing increases and becomes in sync with his, body twitching and jerking along with his fingers. As if you were one.
Your brows drew together in a wince of aggression.
Why? Why were they disturbing you? You just wanted to sleep.
No. You need to Wake. Up.
You gasped as your eyes snapped open, your harsh breathing making the glass fog up as you locked eyes with the masked intruder. Under the mask, his lips stretched into a smirk as he looked into your yellow eyes with blood red around the edges.
“You’re a gorgeous little thing, aren’t you?” He whispered.
You blinked and he was gone. Like he wasn’t even there to begin with. Your breathing got worse. No. No. Come back. Please. You ached to see the masked stranger again and you didn’t know why. Your breathing got worse and you blinked again hoping they would come back but a new face appeared in your field of vision. Her face.
can you only notice I’ve been watching HOTD? ‾̀◡‾́.
I’ve recently just finished the acolyte series and omg it was so good. I usually don’t watch Star Wars series or anything related to it cuz I always fall asleep or I’m confused lmao. BUT the acolyte… *mwah* chefs kiss.
pls like, comment and reblog [if ya want!]. might turn this into a little series. Nothing like fine men and dragons ˘ڡ˘.

masterlists | guidelines
Y/N would always tell Kate her becoming the new Hawkeye didn’t bother her, except that wasn’t really the truth. She loved whatever her girlfriend loved, and if saving people was something she wants to do full time, Y/N would always have her back. However, she hated worrying about her every time she walked out of the door. And she hated seeing her hurt every time she walked back inside.
But, she knew what she signed up for, so she’d deal with it.
It’s already two in the night and Y/N is still awake, pacing Kate’s living room from one wall to the other, her hands mechanically touching them softly before she turns around.
Kate left hours ago and still hasn’t come back, not that she has fixed hours as an Avenger, but she doesn’t usually take this long, even she goes out to fight bad guys.
The news channel is on the television, her eyes glance at it every so often. It’s on mute, Y/N couldn’t bear hearing if something had gone wrong with the Avemgers’ mission, but she also doesn’t want to miss out on anything. The only sounds in the house are the clocks ticking out of sync, and Y/N’s soft footsteps.
Her head snaps towards the door with a flinch when the familiar sound of key opening the door fills the apartment.
She lets out a relieved sigh, immediately making her way to the door, practically forcing it open. “Baby.” Y/N gasps. Her relief turns into worry and care when she sees the state Kate is in. Her body is hunched over, face littered with cuts and bruises, and she is holding onto her side tightly. Still she gives her a smile.
“Hey.” Kate whispers, limping into the living room couch with Y/N’s help.
Y/N turns off the television and puts on a proper light to see the extent of the injuries. “What happened?” Her brows are furrowed and the corners of her mouth are downturned. She gets the med kit before kneeling down next to Kate, starting to take off her suit.
“I’m sorry I’m late.” Kate mumbles. Her eyes are screwed shut as Y/N moves her body around to undress her. “The mission wasn’t exactly successful.”
Y/N hums. She has to blink multiple times to push away the tears threatening to fall. She doesn’t want to cry in front of injured Kate, this moment is about helping her.
A silence falls over the two of them while Y/N patches up any opens cuts and wounds on Kate’s body. Sometimes she lets out a wince or a groan at a particularly painful wound, but otherwise she feels too tired to talk.
After twenty long minutes, Y/N sets the med kit aside, now just looking at Kate. She can see the subtle tremble of her lower lip, the way she is pressing her nails against her palms, and the tension on her face.
“It’s okay.” She whispers, setting a gentle hand on Kate’s cheek. “You don’t have to be so strong all the time.”
Quiet tears start falling down her cheeks as Kate opens her eyes to look at Y/N. She leans against her palm. “What if I’m normal cut out to do this?” Her voice wavers, cracking at the end of the sentence.
“You are.” Y/N sets both of her hands on Kate’s cheeks, her thumbs rubbing them.
“But today was so bad. I really messed up, I endangered the whole mission.”
A frown falls to Y/N’s face. She’s worried. What if Kate isn’t cut out for this? What if one day, she doesn’t come home? “You can’t be perfect on every mission.” She tries to push the thoughts away. “None of the Avengers can. They all have made mistakes, but have you ever blamed them for it?”
Kate shakes her head. “But I’m new. I have to prove my worth.”
“If you have to prove your worth by going to missions until you’ve too exhausted to even get to the bed afterwards, it’s not worth it.” Y/N’s words turn shaky as she tightens her hold on Kate just the slightest. “You’re so good at what you do. And even if I-“ she sniffles, blinking again to keep the tears at bay, “even if I sometimes hate what you do, you shouldn’t worry about impressing them. Because that’s when you get careless and get hurt. You need to focus on helping people, because that’s what you love.”
A steady stream of tears keep falling out of Kate’s eyes as she listens to Y/N words and her tone. The worry is so clear it makes her feel guilty for being the reason for it. She leans her head against Y/N’s shoulder, making the other woman wrap her arms around her tightly.
“You’ll tell me what happened tomorrow, okay? We’ll talk it through. But now you need to sleep, Kate.” Her voice is quiet. “Please, let’s go to sleep.”
Kate nods, pulling away and standing up with Y/N’s help. They walk to the bedroom slowly, and she gets lowered to the bed.
Y/N goes to the closet, getting clean pajamas for them both. She does most of the work while changing Kate into them, but she doesn’t mind, she loves helping Kate in any way she can.
“I’m sorry.” Kat whispers, looking up at Y/N. “I don’t want to make you worried.”
“No, no.” Y/N kisses her forehead and cheeks, the remaining tears wetting her lips. “It’s not your fault. I’m always going to worry about you, no matter what, because I love you. But I also want you to be happy, that’s the most important thing.”
“I’ll ask for a couple days off.”
A surge of happiness goes through Y/N’s body. “Are you sure?”
“Yes.” Kate moves to lay down under the covers, pulling Y/N down next to her. “I’ve been working hard. Too hard, I think. I want to spend more time with you.”
Y/N lays down next to Kate, carefully cuddling into her. She closes her eyes and nuzzles her face into the crook of her neck. “Thank you.”
Kate wraps her arms around Y/N. Her movements are slow, but the injuries won’t stop her from holding her girl. “You’re the most important thing to me.” She whispers. “And I will always come home to you.”
“I know.” Though the doubt still lures in the back of Y/N’s mind, she does a conscious effort to trust Kate’s words.
She’ll always come home to her.

WAYS TO HELP PALESTINE
You know how Ellie is—she'll share every fun fact she knows, and right now, she's in full swing.
The two of you are strolling down the street, her hand intertwined with yours, stealing warmth from the chill in the air. Dinner at the little spot near your shared apartment had been perfect, as always.
It's your favorite place to eat, close enough to home that you'd both rather walk. Besides, Ellie never misses an opportunity to spend more time with you, and you secretly adore that.
As you walk, Ellie keeps tossing out puns and fun facts, her laughter filling the crisp night air.
"Babe, did you know T-Rex had such short arms?" she beams, her eyes sparkling.
Before you can answer, she cuts you off with a pun, grinning mischievously. "It's probably why it couldn't even give a good high-five!" She bursts out laughing at her own joke, as terrible as it is.
All you can do is smile, your heart full of affection for her. Her jokes might not land, but you don't care. You love her--quirks, puns, and all.
Without realizing it, you're staring at her, completely lost in the moment. Ellie notices, her laughter fading into confusion. So lost in thought that you didn't hear her calling your name-or, well, if you count the pet names as your name then sure.
You couldn’t help but smile, watching her eyes sparkle. Ellie’s quirks were what made her, well… Ellie.
"Baby," she says, her voice tinged with worry as she waves a hand in front of your face. "I swear to God, you're scaring me right now."
Her concern pulls you back, and you can't help but chuckle softly. How could anyone be this effortlessly lovable?
She opened her mouth to say something, but before the words could form, you leaned in and kissed her.
The kiss was soft and tender, filled with the unspoken love you carried for her.
Without thinking. your hands gently cupped her cheeks, pulling her closer as the kiss deepened, your hearts racing in sync. But then, Ellie pulled back, gasping for air, her eyes wide with a mix of surprise and wonder.
“What was that for?” she whispered, voice trembling with curiosity and something deeper.
You shrugged, a teasing smile on your lips. “Just… you.”
“Me?” she repeated, her brows knitting. Then, mock indignation: “Oh, my God. Was that to shut me up?”
Her words hit you like a jolt, and your heart sank. How could she think that?
You kissed her because she was utterly irresistible, rambling on with those endearing fun facts of hers.
You kissed her because you loved the way she laughed at her own puns -so unapologetically unfunny yet so undeniably her.
And, most of all, you kissed her because you couldn't help it.
"I kissed you because you're adorable," you replied, trying not to laugh at Ellie's worried expression.
Ellie blushed, realizing that she was overthinking earlier and thought you hated her. Dramatic much?
"Really?" she asked.
"Really"
You added, "I just like kissing you." Your response is simple, but the soft smile curling at the corner of your lips says everything.
Ellie giggles, shaking her head at your answer, her fingers tightening around yours. Her hands are warm, her palm soft, fingers perfectly interlaced with yours.
You both continue walking in comfortable silence, the cold wind brushing past, but it's as if the world is fading away. The busy street hums around you, yet all you can focus on is the soft rhythm of Ellie's breath beside you.
Then, breaking the stillness, she begins another pun-this time about space.
Her laughter bubbled up again, filling the night, and you let yourself get lost in it. For all the facts, the puns, the silly jokes—this is home. Ellie is home.

Hi!!!! I’d like to request Vox and a reader who just refuses to get like new technology at all because they’re like “I don’t wanna waste money when it still works!” Like their phone case could literally be hanging on by a thread and they’d still refuse to get a new one
You don’t have to do this request if you don’t want to, take care of yourself and drink water❤️
A/N: Thank you. I keep forgetting to drink water every day. The only time I remember to drink is whenever I eat. Take care of yourself, too. And I’m the same as the reader you’re describing, lol. I still have an iPhone 6 and it’s still working. The battery drains so fucking fast though.
Warnings: None
———
Vox x Reader who’s a minimalist
• while Vox is someone who owns (I think is) a multi-billionaire company and never had to think of not buying things he needed or wanted, he might agree with you about the money part
• he’s like Grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls or Scrooge McDuck (rich as hell but doesn’t like wasting money)
• but the thing is, he owned technology
• if it were any other stuff, he would be okay with it (it’s your money, after all. You do you)
• but it’s literally what his brand is built around
• he could just…give you a new one
• “No! I don’t want a new one.”
• he’d take offense to that
• because he already put all of your personal information in, from the apps you downloaded to your photos and, heck, your passwords, too
• and he did all of that without syncing it with your old phone (yeah, he knows everything—it’s not creepy at all)
• he knew you were complaining about the darn thing and decided to give you one
• so…why didn’t you want it???
• “Because it still works.”
• he’d just give you the deadest pan (not a word) ever
• your phone was old as hell, so the battery is pretty chemically fucked up
• it was also a device that he no longer puts any new updates in (because everyone else already moved on from it), so your phone was pretty outdated
• like, extremely outdated
• all of which meant that there would be some slight difficulty with communication
• and this man thrives from Facetiming you (he’s a busy guy)
• there would probably be more times you Facetime him than actually seeing him in person (assuming you don’t live with him. He probably has cameras there regardless)
• you’d keep complaining about how he keeps bugging out after a certain time has passed in the call or how it’s already gone down to 5% or how your phone is overheating because you’re charging it while calling him or how it’s just searing hot in general every time you use it—speaking from personal experience, lol
• it’s the reason why he decided to give you a new phone (he wanted longer calls without you having to hang up every 20 minutes because you needed to charge it)
• but noooo—your stubborn ass still insisted on using it because ‘it’s still working’
• ...yeah, no, he’s not taking any of that shit
• he’s still going to give it to you whether you like it or not
• his proposition is that, okay, you can use your old phone, but you have to use the new one for calls
• that’s all he’s asking for, really

fight or flight [aro volturi]
request: Can I request #3 and #13 with Aro Volturi and a human?
prompts: "take a deep breath" // "you're okay, i promise"
requested by: anon
warnings: panic attack
thank you for requesting!!
it had been building all day.
the familiar sensation of a panic attack had been on the brink of her mind all day, just waiting to spill out at the perfect time. she was hyperaware of everything, her fingers fidgeting, her knee bouncing, her breathing increased.
she couldn't tell what was causing it, but then again, she never could. anxiety was something she had struggled with for years, something she could never pinpoint a cause of, and something she still couldn't get under control.
no medication helped, or meditation, or therapy.
it made her feel utterly isolated.
the longer she was left alone with her thoughts, the worse she felt. she had spent most of her day exploring the castle with her guard, simply trying to keep the inevitable attack at bay. her mate, aro, was busy that day with trials and one thing she refused to do was call him away from his work - not for something as silly as this.
but now, she curled up in their shared bed, no longer able to bring herself to communicate with others. her thoughts were too occupied with her panic, her conversations stilted and drawn out because she couldn't focus long enough to pay attention to the topics being talked about.
she could feel her breathing grower faster, her heart beat picked up in her chest, and she sat up in bed, suddenly unable to sit still. her chest felt too tight as she swung her legs over the bed and stood quickly, needing to move instead of sit still. her vision was going dark, small black dots clouding her sight. hot tears slid down her cheeks, the wetness not helping with her fading vision.
the girl flinched when cold hands settled on her shoulders, unable to hear the words aro was speaking to her in her state of mind. she felt him lead her to the bed and push on her shoulders, forcing her to sit. "tesoro, tesoro, please listen to me."
his words broke through her thoughts and she drew in a harsh, wheezing breath. "i-i can't."
"you can, my darling. take a deep breath."
she drew in another breath, but it was still shallow and stuttered. a whine escaped with the exhale and she reached up, clutching her hair with her fingers. aro's hands moved to cover hers, this time pushing her head between her knees. he unwound one of her hands from her hair to place on his chest. "breathe with me, darling."
aro's chest began to rise and fall under her hand and she stilled for a moment, trying her best to sync her breathing to his own. his was slightly uneven, likely due to the fact that he didn't feel the need to breathe regularly. as her hand rose and fell with her mate's chest, she managed to break through the panic in her mind and focus more on him. he sat close to her, one hand still on top of her head while the other rested on his chest.
"you're okay, i promise." aro whispered, leaning forward to press a kiss to the back of her head. "you're doing great."
"i don't know what happened." her voice was still shaky and eyes were still wet.
aro's hand left her hair as she lifted her head and he instead moved to wipe her tears from her face. his lips were tilted into a kind smile, his eyes gentle and touch soft as he cared for his mate. "it's over now, my love. we know it's something that happens."
"i hate it." she sniffled, reaching up to catch another tear as it fell. "makes me feel so weak."
"none of that." the raven-haired king lifted her chin in order to meet her eyes, this time his expression stern. "you're not weak - you're very strong to be able to overcome your panic like that. resilient."
she looked doubtfully at aro, who only leaned forward to kiss her in order to silence any protest. "my strong mate." he murmured against her lips. "i'm proud of you for being able to overcome it. you should be too."
she didn't respond, instead leaning into his kiss again and closing her eyes. while she had a long way to go in order to overcome her anxiety and panic attacks, she was grateful to have such an attentive mate to help her through them every time.

Invisible string
CHAPTER ONE
A/N: I did a poll even though I was going to write it lmao but here you go! This is going to be a long series so don't expect it to be a couple one shots.
Description: Flora Quinnell is a 23 year old who has been living in an orphanage with nuns. She's a mutant who has invisibility, telekinesis, and empathy abilities. She gets recruited by Charles Xavier to be a teacher at his school. Everything is all well until she meets Erik, who makes her life there a living hell.
Word count: 4605
I awoke to the warm embrace of sunlight pouring in through the open window, accompanied by a gentle morning breeze caressing my skin. The weather in July was unexpectedly cool. I quickly checked the clock on the wall-9 a.m. It was Sunday, which meant most of the kids were in Bible study, meaning this morning would be peaceful.
I've lived at this orphanage my entire life. Left here as a newborn, the nuns took me in. For 23 years, this has been my home, and I'm grateful for the life I've had. I can't imagine anyone caring for me better than my godmother, Nun Melinda. She raised me as if I were her own child. I don't feel anger or bitterness toward whoever left me here. In time, I stopped thinking about my parents, certain they had their reasons. After all, they left me in a place where I've been cared for and loved in a world that's not always kind to people like me.
I reached under my bed and pulled out the willow basket I was left in. Its light brown weaving remained intact, and inside, the small yellow blanket lay neatly folded. A faint scent still lingered-of a newborn. When I was younger, I would clutch it at night, longing for the parents I'd never know. Over time, I realized perhaps it was for the best, and I slowly moved on.
As I looked through my closet, I decided to wear a brown sweater with a skirt that fell just above the knee. I combed my hair, washed my face at the small sink in the corner of my room, and brushed my teeth. Afterward, I grabbed the book sitting on my nightstand and walked downstairs to the back porch.
As I sat in my favorite chair, I watched the birds chirp in the beautiful morning light. The flowers swayed gently in the breeze, and the smell of coffee filled the air, making my stomach grumble.
I should eat, I thought. But before I could get up, Nun Melinda walked outside, holding a tray with a coffee mug and cookies.
"Good morning, Nun Melinda," I smiled.
"Good morning, dear. I brought you some coffee. Drink up while it's still warm," she said, setting the tray down on the patio table.
"Thank you, Nun Melinda. You didn't have to."
"Nonsense, I don't mind," she replied, her voice soft. "There's something I need to mention. I received a call-some people are coming to talk to you. They'll be here in a few minutes."
"Do you know what they want?" I asked, feeling the soothing liquid warm my throat.
"Something about a teaching position. I didn't get many details."
"Teaching position? I wonder what that's about," I said, nibbling on one of the cookies.
"Come to the lounge once you're finished," she said, giving me a peck on the cheek.
With that, she left, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
A teaching job? Why me, of all people? I asked myself, slowly sipping my coffee. Once I finished, I walked to the living room. There, Nun Melinda sat with two visitors-a bald man in a wheelchair and a blonde woman with a pale complexion. As I stepped closer, they all turned to look at me.
Nun Melinda was the first to speak. "Flora, this is Professor Charles Xavier, and this is Raven."
They stood, well one of them did and I shook their hands.
"It's nice to meet you," I said, studying the strangers in front of me.
"It's nice to meet you too," they both said in sync.
"Would you like tea or coffee?" Nun Melinda offered.
"None, thank you," Charles replied. "We're fine."
"I'll leave you three to talk then," she said, disappearing from the room.
I sat awkwardly, glancing between the two strangers. "So... why are you here?" I asked.
Charles was the first to speak. "We're looking for someone to teach at my school, Flora. Someone like you."
"Like me?" I asked, confused. "Why me? I don't have any experience or even a degree."
Raven spoke up. "It's hard to find teachers willing to work at a school for mutants, especially ones who are mutants themselves."
I froze. "How do you know-?"
Before I could finish, Charles touched two fingers to his temple, and suddenly, they both disappeared.
I jumped up. "Professor? Raven?"
They reappeared just as quickly, making me flinch.
"I'm just like you," Charles said calmly.
I looked at Raven, intrigued. "Are you a mutant too?"
She didn't answer verbally. Instead, her skin shifted into blue scales, revealing her true form.
Charles nodded. "Now, show us what you can do."
I hesitated but took a breath, focusing on the shift in my body. Within seconds, I turned invisible. I waited a couple seconds for their reaction and I quickly returned visible again, feeling a little self-conscious under their watchful eyes.
"Extraordinary," Charles said, clearly impressed. "Is that all you can do?"
I shook my head. "I can also create force fields, I have telekinesis-which I'm still working on-and then empathy."
"Empathy?" Raven asked.
"Yes. I can control and sense emotions with a touch. It came in handy when I was caught doing something I wasn't supposed to," I said with a small laugh.
They both looked at me with interest. After a moment, Charles spoke again.
"When did you discover your powers?"
"When I was little, I would accidentally turn invisible when I was distressed or scared. The nuns here knew I was different from the other kids, but they didn't mind. They just kept it a secret because people like me-mutants-aren't exactly deemed normal. Later, in my teenage years, I met a boy named Lucas who worked at a nearby farm. He was a mutant too, so we practiced our powers in secret. Eventually, I discovered I could control my invisibility and that I could move things with my mind."
Raven and Charles exchanged a glance before Charles spoke again. "We need someone like you at our school. There are children who need your guidance."
I hesitated, feeling the weight of his words.
"But I've lived here my whole life. This is all I've ever known," I said, fidgeting with my lip.
"There are kids who need you and have no one. Orphans, just like you," Raven said as Charles nodded in agreement.
"You already have the most important qualities," Charles continued. "Compassion, understanding, and a unique perspective. The rest, we can help with."
Raven added, "You'll have support. And more importantly, you'll grow alongside the students."
Their words lingered in my mind. Maybe it was time for a change. I had lived here my whole life, and perhaps this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I looked at them, making up my mind.
Fuck it
I took a deep breath. "Okay," I said. "I'll give it a try."
I quickly went upstairs, grabbed a bag, and began packing my clothes and important belongings. After I was done, I looked around my room one last time feeling a little homesick already.
let's do this. I quickly closed the door and walked down stairs.
Nun Melinda was once again standing with Charles and Raven but at the front door. As I approached, she turned around and wrapped me in a warm hug.
I hugged her back tightly, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside me. "Take care of yourself, my dear," she whispered. "You're going to do great things."
"Thank you, Nun Melinda," I replied, my voice slightly trembling. "I'll miss you. I'll miss all of you."
She pulled back and gave me a reassuring smile. " We'll all miss you too, but this is your time to be independent and grow."
With one last look around the place that had been my home for so long, I nodded to Charles and Raven, ready to step into the unknown.
The ride to the school wasn't too long, but my mind was spinning the entire time. As Raven drove, all I could think about was the life I had left behind and the one waiting for me. This was my chance-a new chapter outside the orphanage. A chance to build the life I'd always dreamed of.
As we turned onto the driveway leading to the school, I was struck by the beauty of the place. Tall trees bordered the road, their leaves lush and green, casting gentle shadows over the landscape. The air smelled fresh, and the surroundings felt alive with possibility.
When we approached the school, I noticed children scattered across the grounds. Some sat under trees, engrossed in books, while others played basketball or ran around, their laughter filling the air. The school was larger than I had imagined-much bigger. The sheer size of the building made me feel small for a moment.
Stepping out of the car, I finally got a full view of the place. The main building was impressive, with grand, arched windows and a stately presence. Vines climbed up its stone walls, curling around the structure in a way that made it look both ancient and alive, like the building was growing from the earth itself. It was beautiful-wild and majestic, just like nature.
Raven helped Charles out of the car and into his wheelchair while I stood there, still in awe of the campus. The possibilities of this new life swirled in my mind as I tried to imagine myself here, surrounded by people like me. I grabbed my bag and joined them, walking beside Charles and Raven toward the entrance.
"What do you think?" Charles asked, his voice calm yet curious.
I glanced around at the sprawling grounds, the towering trees, the vibrant life everywhere.
"It's... amazing," I replied, my voice tinged with wonder. "I didn't think the place would look this nice and feel so full of love."
Charles chuckled as we approached the grand entrance. "It's more than just a school, Flora. It's a home for many who've felt out of place in the world. You'll find that here, I promise."
I nodded, taking in his words. The weight of my decision began to settle in, and I wondered if I truly belonged in a place like this. But something about the atmosphere, the serenity mixed with the underlying sense of purpose, gave me hope.
As we entered through the large wooden doors, the inside was just as grand as the outside. The hallways stretched ahead, lined with paintings and intricate woodwork. Students bustled past, some nodding in acknowledgment as we walked by. The air hummed with energy, yet it felt strangely peaceful.
Raven glanced at me. "We'll show you to your room, and later, you'll meet some of the staff. They're all really nice."
"I hope so," I said, glancing at the students. "I'm a bit overwhelmed."
Charles chuckled softly. "Give it time. You'll come to see this as your new home."
As we turned a corner, I caught sight of a window overlooking a large garden, brimming with colorful flowers and more trees. In the distance, I could see animals-a few birds, some deer grazing near the woods. A sense of comfort washed over me. Maybe this place could be a home after all.
"I'll let Raven take over. I have some important matters to attend to. I'll see you after lunch," Charles said as he slowly turned around, heading down a hallway.
"Thank you!" I called after him.
Raven led me up a winding staircase to the second floor. We reached a door at the end of the hall, and Raven pushed it open. Inside was a cozy, modest room with a large window overlooking the grounds.
"This will be your space," Raven said with a smile. "Unpack, settle in, and I'll come back for you in a little while."
I set my bag down, glancing around the room. It was simple, but the view outside the window, with the sprawling green and the animals in the distance, made it feel perfect. This was my start-my new beginning.
"Thank you," I said, turning back to her.
"You'll do great things here, Flora," Raven said, walking towards the door. "I'll see you soon."
With that, she left, and I was alone with my thoughts and new surroundings. I took a deep breath, stepping toward the window. The campus stretched out before me, full of life, and for the first time in a long while, I felt a sense of belonging.
I quickly unpacked, placing my belongings neatly in the spacious closet. The room was at least twice the size of the one at the orphanage. The bed, which looked enormous compared to what I'd been used to, had a plush purple comforter that looked incredibly inviting. I pressed my hand against it, feeling the softness. There was an empty desk in one corner, and a small TV sat on a stand near the window-a little reminder of normalcy in such an extraordinary place.
I opened the window, letting the fresh air in. The breeze was gentle but steady, causing the curtains to flutter softly from side to side. I leaned against the window frame, looking out at the vibrant green of the campus below, letting my thoughts drift. There was so much to process-so much unknown ahead of me-but for the first time in a long while, I felt something close to hope.
After a few minutes of quiet reflection, a knock on the door interrupted the calm. My heart quickened as I turned toward it. I wasn't expecting anyone so soon, and a wave of nervousness crept in.
I stood up, smoothing out the wrinkles in my clothes, and walked over to answer it.
It was Raven, standing in the doorway with a friendly smile. "Are you ready for your tour?"
I gave her a small smile, nodding as the nervousness settled again in my stomach. "Yeah, I'm ready."
"Great," she said, stepping aside to let me join her. "There's a lot to see, but I'll give you the highlights today so you don't feel too overwhelmed."
As we started down the hallway, Raven gestured toward the rooms around us. "So, in this hall, all the staff have their quarters. Erik's room is next to yours, and Storm's is on the other side. You'll meet them both later at dinner."
I nodded, mentally filing away the names. Erik and Storm. I wondered what they were like. I hoped they were nice.
"They're great," Raven continued, as if reading my thoughts. "Erik can be intense sometimes, but as long as you don't get on his bad side, you'll be fine. And Storm... well, you'll see. She's got a presence that speaks for itself."
I couldn't help but smile at that. "I'm looking forward to meeting them."
"Then there's Jean, who rooms with Scott. They're both really nice," Raven added as we walked further down the hallway. "They're engaged, so you'll probably see them together most of the time."
"Engaged? That's nice," I replied, picturing the couple in my head. I was curious about what they were like, but something told me no one here was ordinary.
"And then there's my room," she continued, gesturing toward a door a few paces away. "If you ever need anything, feel free to knock."
I gave her a grateful smile. "Thanks. I appreciate that."
"Charles sleeps on the other side of the school," Raven said with a slight chuckle. "His quarters are more private, but you'll see him plenty. He likes to keep a close eye on things around here."
I nodded, taking it all in. The people here seemed close, like a family of sorts, and though I felt a little out of place, I couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging growing.
"And then Hank's room is at the end of the hallway," Raven added with a soft smile. "He's my boyfriend, by the way."
I raised my eyebrows, intrigued. "Boyfriend, huh? How long have you two been together, if you don't mind me asking?"
Raven chuckled. "We've been dating for a couple of months now. It took me a while to get through to him, but now we're happy. You'll see him around, always working on something. But don't let his shyness fool you-he can get pretty loud."
I smiled at the warmth in her voice when she talked about him. "I'm looking forward to meeting him."
Raven led us further down the hallway, the tour giving me a sense of how close-knit this group really was. It made me feel both excited and a little anxious about fitting in.
As we walked through the school, Raven pointed out the important places since the campus was so vast-where the kids' rooms were, the classrooms (which she mentioned Charles would show me in more detail after lunch), and finally, the training area.
When we reached the basement, she opened the heavy doors, revealing an enormous room filled with high-tech equipment. In the center, two people were engaged in a heated battle with a giant robot, dodging its strikes with precision and power.
"Ah, Scott and Storm are here," Raven said casually as she began walking toward them.
I followed, wide-eyed, watching the intense scene unfold. Scott, wearing red-tinted glasses, was firing controlled beams of energy at the robot, while Storm moved gracefully, summoning wind and lightning to disorient her opponent. It was both mesmerizing and a little intimidating.
"They're training," Raven explained with a grin. "This is one of the ways we keep our skills sharp-and it looks pretty cool, right?"
I nodded, unable to take my eyes off the battle. "Yeah... this is incredible."
"All the teachers train here," she added casually.
I blinked. "Wait... all teachers? As in, I will too?"
Raven paused, then stepped back with a sheepish smile. "Oh, I guess the cat's out of the bag. Charles was supposed to tell you."
"Tell me what?" I asked, a sense of unease creeping in.
"Well, all staff members are required to train at least twice a week. And... well, all of the X-Men are teachers here. That just leaves you."
I stared at her, processing the words. "Wait, you guys want me to be an X-Men? I thought I was here for a teaching job."
Raven chuckled softly. "You are. But part of teaching here is also protecting the students. We're more than just a school, Flora. Charles believes you have potential-not just to teach, but to help keep everyone safe."
I swallowed hard, my mind racing. "I've never fought anything in my life, let alone... robots or whatever that thing is."
Raven placed a hand on my shoulder, her expression reassuring. "We'll train you. You're not expected to jump into battle tomorrow. But trust me, you'll catch on. You have potential."
Before I could respond, Scott and Storm walked over, leaving the defeated robot lying motionless on the ground.
Scott, tall and serious-looking, gave me a nod. "You must be the new recruit. Welcome."
Storm smiled warmly, her presence commanding yet comforting. "It's nice to meet you, Flora. I hope you're liking the place so far."
I glanced between them, still trying to process everything. "Thanks... I just didn't realize this job came with combat training."
Scott smirked. "It's part of the package deal. But don't worry, we all started somewhere. You'll have plenty of time to get used to it."
Storm nodded in agreement. "And you won't be alone. We've got each other's backs here."
Raven chimed in. "You'll be fine, Flora. We'll make sure of it."
Their words were comforting, but I couldn't shake the nervousness bubbling inside. I'd come here to teach, but now I was stepping into a whole new world-one that involved more than just lessons in a classroom.
Lunch finally rolled around, and as I finished eating, Raven reminded me to see Charles in his office afterward. The only problem was, I couldn't exactly remember where it was. After the tour, Raven had given me a brochure to help me navigate if I got lost. This school was massive, and I wondered how anyone managed to navigate it without getting turned around.
As I wandered the hallways, the sounds of kids laughing and running around filled the space, reminding me of the orphanage. A pang of homesickness hit me, but I quickly shook it off. I was glad to be here, starting this new chapter of my life.
The noise of the children began to fade as I moved further into the quieter parts of the building. I stopped at the end of a hallway, looking down at the small brochure in my hands. I was turning a corner when I bumped into someone, accidentally spilling his coffee all over his gray shirt.
"I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed, eyes widening as I saw the stain spreading across his chest.
The man, tall and broad-shouldered, glared down at me, his face hard as stone. His dark red hair was slicked back, and his sharp gaze sent a shiver down my spine. He glanced at his coffee-stained shirt and then back at me, clearly unimpressed.
"Watch where you're going," he muttered, brushing at the stain, though it only spread further.
"I didn't mean to... I'm just trying to find the Professor's office," I stammered, fidgeting with the hem of my skirt.
"Figures," he said, his voice low and clipped. "You're the new girl."
"I am," I replied, feeling my face flush under his intense stare.
His brow furrowed, as though the very idea of me being here annoyed him. "You're the one they're bringing in to teach? You don't exactly look prepared for it."
I bristled at his tone, my nerves tingling with irritation. "I wasn't aware there was a dress code for spilling coffee," I snapped, sarcasm slipping out before I could stop myself.
His eyes narrowed. "You won't last long here if you think it's all sarcasm and jokes."
I swallowed hard, the weight of his words settling over me. "I don't know who you are, but I didn't come here to get lectured."
He crossed his arms over his chest, his expression unchanging. "I'm Erik Lehnsherr. And you'd do well to stay out of my way."
I stared at him, recognition finally dawning. Erik. The one Raven had warned me about-the intense one. Great. Of all the people to run into, it had to be him.
"Noted," I replied coolly, stepping around him, but not before muttering under my breath, "You might want to work on your people skills, though."
I didn't wait for his reaction as I quickly walked away, my heart pounding in my chest. My face was still warm with embarrassment and frustration. Of all the first impressions I could've made, spilling coffee on the grumpiest guy in the building wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
I hurried down the hall, trying to push the encounter with Erik out of my mind. My heart was still racing, and I couldn't help but feel both embarrassed and irritated. Who did he think he was? But I had bigger concerns-like figuring out where in the world the Professor's office was.
After wandering what felt like endlessly through the halls, I was about ready to give up and ask someone for directions when I spotted something out of the corner of my eye. A small, polished brass plaque on the wall next to a large wooden door:
Professor Charles Xavier, Headmaster
I let out a sigh of relief. "Finally," I muttered, feeling a little silly for missing it before.
I raised my hand to knock, but before I could, Charles's calm voice echoed in my mind, as clear as if he were standing right next to me.
Come in, Flora.
I blinked, reminded of his telepathic abilities, and stepped into the office. The room was spacious yet cozy, filled with bookshelves that lined the walls and a large desk near the window. Sunlight poured in, casting a golden glow over everything.
Charles sat behind his desk, a kind smile on his face. "I trust you're settling in well?" he asked.
I hesitated for a moment, thinking about Erik and our less-than-ideal first meeting. "Well, I'm still getting used to the place... It's much bigger than I expected."
Charles chuckled softly. "It can be overwhelming at first. But in time, it will feel like home."
I nodded, though my mind was still racing with thoughts about what had just happened. Charles seemed to sense my unease.
"Ah," he said knowingly, leaning forward slightly. "You've met Erik."
I felt my cheeks flush again. "Yes, but... it didn't go very well."
Charles smiled gently. "Don't take it personally. Erik's not one to easily warm up to new people, especially those he doesn't know yet. But give it time-he can be difficult, but once you earn his trust, you'll see there's more to him than his sharp exterior."
I sighed, feeling slightly better. "I hope you're right."
"I am," he said confidently, then motioned to the chair across from his desk. "Please, sit. We have much to discuss about your role here."
I sat down, still feeling a bit out of my element but more at ease as I faced Charles across his large desk. His calm demeanor made it easier to breathe through the nerves that lingered in the back of my mind.
"As you know," Charles began, "our school is unique. We're not just a place for education; we're a sanctuary for those who feel they don't belong in the outside world. The students here, like you, have abilities that set them apart. It's our job to help them understand those abilities and how to use them wisely."
I nodded, listening closely. Despite the calm surroundings, the weight of the responsibility was starting to settle on my shoulders.
"I believe you can offer something very special here, Flora," he continued. "You have extraordinary gifts that can be used out in the field."
I looked at him, remembering what Raven told me before. "You mean, like becoming an X-Man?"
"Indeed. You have potential, and I know you can become one of the best," he said as he rolled toward me.
"I still feel like I'm not qualified for this," I admitted, my fingers fidgeting with the edge of my sweater. "I've never taught anyone before, or even fought anyone. I don't know how I'd handle real students, especially ones with powers."
Charles's kind smile didn't waver. "You'll find that teaching here is as much about connecting with the students as it is about formal lessons. You'll learn as you go. And you'll have the support of the other teachers, including myself. As for becoming an X-Men, that's the easiest part. We will train you."
I glanced out the window for a moment, watching a group of students playing outside, their laughter drifting through the open air. Despite my nerves, something about this place already felt like it was calling to me, as if I was meant to be here. But it was hard to imagine myself fitting in, especially with teachers like Erik, who clearly thought otherwise.
Charles must have picked up on my thoughts, because his voice softened, drawing my attention back to him. "Flora, you belong here. And I believe that in time, you'll come to see it too."
I met his gaze and nodded. "I'll try my best, Professor."
"That's all I ask," he replied, his tone warm and reassuring. "Now, why don't you take the rest of the afternoon to explore the grounds? Get to know the place and the students."
I stood, feeling both nervous and determined. "Thank you, Professor."
As I turned to leave, his voice echoed in my mind again. And Flora, he said gently, don't let Erik's attitude deter you. There's more to him than meets the eye.
I smiled faintly, pausing at the door. "I'll try to keep that in mind."
With that, I stepped out of the office and into the hallway, the heavy wooden door closing softly behind me. The air in the corridor was still, the sounds of students muffled in the distance. I stood there for a moment, letting it all sink in-the enormity of this place, the role I was stepping into, and the people I would meet.
And then there was Erik.
I took a deep breath, squaring my shoulders. Maybe Charles was right. Maybe there was more to Erik than the cold, irritated exterior I'd seen. But I wasn't about to let his attitude intimidate me. I had a job to do here, and if Erik was part of it, I'd just have to figure out how to deal with him.

Request by: @kiyomi-uchiha777
*not my gif*
Summary: Who knew everything could go wrong when you decided to take one nap and leave your co-stars to fend for themselves?
A/N: This was fun to write
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
“Should we call her?” Mark asked in a quiet voice, glancing around nervously at his co-stars as he awaited an answer.
“Are you crazy?” Robert hissed, “We can’t call her! She’s gonna think we’re idiots!”
“You kind of are though.” Scarlett pointed out unhelpfully.
“Uh uh uh,” Downey turned to her, narrowing his eyes and pointing a finger at her, “You’re just as much at fault here as the rest of us are.”
“I just followed you guys, I have no idea what’s going on.” Evans looked exhausted as he threw his hands into the air.
“This city is wonderful!” The other Chris chimed in, looking around in awe, as if oblivious to the others bickering, “Y/n is so lucky to be from here!”
Jeremy looked around and nodded in agreement, “This place is nice.”
You and your avengers co-stars were all in Germany, your home country, on a press tour, and the six of them had gone out for a stroll whilst you were taking a nap in the hotel, only to wind up lost within the first twenty minutes.
“So why don’t we call her?” The actor for Bruce Banner stressed, “We’re lost and she knows this place like the back of her hand! She even said so herself!”
“It’s humiliating!” Robert cried dramatically.
Scarlet rolled her eyes, “I’ll take being humiliated over being lost down this random alleyway anyday.” She quipped back.
The actor dropped his head with a long sigh, and Evans clapped him on the back, “I think you should be the one to call her. You know, since you feel so strongly about the issue.” He had a spark of mischief in his eyes.
Robert groaned, slowly taking out his phone and clicking onto your contact, holding his breath as he listened to it ring.
Six rings in, it was cut off and your voice floated through the speaker, “Hello?”
“N/n, hey,” Downey chuckled awkwardly, pausing. One sharp look from Scarlett, though, had him scurrying to continue, “Listen… we may or may not have… gotten lost?”
There was a silence following his statement/ question, before you sighed loudly, “How did you idiots manage to get lost? It’s really not that hard. It’s quite simple.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know.” He grumbled, giving a dirty look to his snickering co-stars.
You finally allowed yourself to chuckle a little bit at the predicament before you relented and said, “Alright, fine. Send me your location and I’ll come get you all.”
When he did just that, another long silence stretched out.
“… You guys know you’re only a street away from the hotel, right?”
The volume on Roberts phone was apparently loud enough for all of them to hear, because all six of them facepalmed in sync.

The gang
Summary; everyone in the gang has gotten girlfriends, and now none of them have time for you. And it hurts your feelings, but you go out anyways. That results in you getting jumped, and then the gang feels guilty. But you blow up at them.
Side note; y’all y/n isn’t a pick-me I swear, she doesn’t get enough love at home so the gang is her only hope 😭😭
Warnings; , small angst, hurt & comfort, cussing, Fem reader.
“Hey Johnny, Ponyboy!” You smiled happily at your best friends.
“Hey Y/n.” They both said in sync, nonchalantly.
Your smile faded, before you forced yourself to smile again. “I’m heading down to the nightly double tonight. Any of y’all wanna tag along?” You asked, looking at the whole gang.
They all looked at you. “Sorry, Y/n. me and Johnny are going on a double date with our girls.” Ponyboy smirked proudly, punching Johnny’s shoulder lightly making him smirk as well.
“Us as well.” Soda said, pointing to himself, dally, two-bit, and Steve.
“Darry?” You looked at him with pleading eyes.
“I’ve got a broad too, Y/n. I’ll be busy.” He furrowed his brows.
“Y’all go off and get yourselves girls and then suddenly don’t got time for me??” You frowned. “We’re family, man. That just ain’t fair.”
“We’re sorry Y/n but our girls are important” soda started.
“And I’m not??” Tears welled up. “Whatever. I’m outta here. Let me know when I’m suddenly important to y’all again.” A tear fell, and you ran out of the house.
“She’s alright Ponyboy, Johnny, leave it alone. She’s just being dramatic.” Was the last thing you heard from Dally, making more tears fall.
You ran to the park. It was your comfort place.
You sat on the ground, next to the fountain. You wrapped your arms around your legs and sobbed into your knees.
This has been going on for weeks. Do they just not care about me anymore??
You sat at the fountain crying for hours. Then you realized it was getting dark.
Oh shit the movies gonna start soon.
You got up and wiped your tears. You started walking to the nightly double.
It was cold, so you were shivering.
Once you arrived at the nightly double, you hopped over the fence.
Oh god I really am a greaser.
You picked an empty chair, and sat in it to watch the movie.
You felt eyes on you, so your looked around. You caught a few socs staring at you, and you shifted uncomfortably.
I shouldn’tve come here alone.
You focused back on the movie, still on edge. You decided to keep your guard up just in case.
A little later, and the movie was about to end. You thought of just sneaking off early, and decided to do it.
You started off by walking, corner eyeing the group of drunk socs that kept eyeing you.
Once you hopped over the fence, you started running as fast as you could to the Curtis house, only going faster when you heard the socs running after you.
“Grease!!” You heard, before you were pushed against the wall of a near by building.
Fucking great. Because I really needed this right now.
One blonde soc pulled out a blade, whilst the others held you against the wall.
“Get off of me!!” You yelled, trying to wiggle out of there grip.
“No mercy for greasers, especially when they’re alone.” The blonde soc smirked.
Your eyes welled up with tears, not just because you were sad but because you were angry. Angry at the gang for letting you go out by yourself and replacing you.
“Please…” you whispered, as tears fell.
You started screaming as loud as you could, in hopes for someone to hear you.
“Shut her the fuck up!” The blonde soc whisper yelled.
A brunette soc shoved a cloth in your mouth.
The blonde soc lifted up your shirt so the side of your stomach was out.
He placed a blade against it, the cold contact making you shiver.
“Greasers deserve to be hurt. Greasers don’t even deserve to be alive.” The blonde soc widened his eyes, making him look insane as he slashed the side of your stomach. Blood immediately started pouring out of it.
You screamed into the cloth as loud as you can.
He pulled your shirt down, making you cry out from the uncomfortable injury being irritated.
He put the blade against your neck, accidentally slicing it in the process. He pulled it back, so it wasn’t in contact of your skin, and mimicked the motion you’d use to slit someone’s throat.
You shook your head furiously, trying to get everyone away from you.
The blonde soc nodded at the others, and they threw you to the ground.
They all took turns, kicking you.
You curled up into yourself and blocked your head for safety.
One last kick— it was definitely the hardest.
You sobbed out, and held that spot. There would be bruises all over you, but this one would definitely be the biggest. You’re probably gonna be so sore tomorrow.
The socs scattered once they were done with you, and you got up.
You were so weak that you could hardly stand, but you managed to start walk— limping to the Curtis house.
As soon as you saw the familiar fence, you tried to go faster. You realized your nose was leaking, and quickly figured out it was blood.
Probably from when they threw me across the fucking ground.
You opened the fence door and walked up to the front door, quickly realized the gang just got back home.
You opened the door, and invited yourself in. You took a deep breath and wiped the blood off your face, most of it just smudging.
“Hey guys.” You smiled, the smile not reaching your eyes.
“Y/n… what the fuck happened??” Dally asked, anger clear in his tone.
“I dunno. Ask the socs that beat my ass. Oh wait. I’m probably just being dramatic, right?” You shrugged, sarcasm present in your sentence as you hinted at the earlier conversation. Dally’s eyes widened in realization.
Tears welled up in your eyes, as you clutched your side. The one where you got sliced with a blade. It was still bleeding, and you were getting lightheaded.
You pulled your hands back, and they were now coated with crimson red.
You looked at the gang, and they all looked serious.
“Yknow what?” You said, about to pass out, “This is all your fault. If you weren’t all so occupied with excluding me in everything, I never would’ve went out by myself. And you can’t say I should’ve asked you to come with, because I did! This is all your guys’ fault!!” You started crying, collapsing on the floor in embarrassment. You felt so defeated.
“Y/n…” Johnny started. “We’re really really sorry.” He frowned.
“It’s fine, Johnny. I guess I’m just being sensitive. I get you guys have girls and I appreciate you treating them well. I guess I just felt a little replaced, because nobody even wanted to hang out with me anymore. And you wouldn’t even bring me along when you were all going out.” You sighed, wrapping your arms around your knees.
“No, Y/n. You’re our girl. We’re family, and we’d never wanna purposefully make you feel upset.” Dally frowned. “And I’m sorry ‘bout what I said. I didn’t think you’d hear it.”
“Oh it’s alright, Dally I know you didn’t mean it.” You wiped your tears, and took a deep breath. You got up slowly, groaning and bending over when you felt a sharp pain in your side.
“Y/n? Are you alright??” Johnny asked, concern plastered on his features.
“I-I don’t know…” you got light headed.
You felt your wound become wet, and realized it started bleeding again.
You touched it, and pulled you hand back. It was covered in blood.
“Did they pull a blade out on ya’, y/n?” Soda asked. You nodded gingerly, slowly lifting up your shirt to show the gash located on your side.
The gangs eyes widened. “That’s really bad, Y/n. Let’s treat it.” Ponyboy frowned, while soda lead you to the bathroom, the rest of the gang following to watch, or hand out outside of the bathroom waiting for you.
You sat on the counter, wincing while soda cleaned your wound.
“Hey, y/n?” Johnny spoke up.
“Yes, Johnny?” You looked at him.
“Im really sorry. Im sorry for not going with you. This wouldn’t have happened if I went with you..” Johnny looked at the floor.
“Johnny, it’s alright. I forgive you all. It’s not your fault anyways, I was being stupid. I shoulda just waited till’ you all got back.” You shrugged, smiling at all the boys. They smiled back.
“I love you guys.”
“We love you too, y/n”

Our Secret
Henry Cavill x Reader
Summary: After filming a movie with your coworker, Henry. The two of you have press work to do. Traveling around the world and answering questions from interviewers each day. It can get tiring but it can also lead to a new beginning.
Word Count: 1.1K
Warnings: None
I have always been a fan of Henry Cavill. I admired him, not just for his good looks but for his remarkable talent in acting. So when I found out that I would be starring alongside him in an upcoming movie, I couldn't help but scream.
Our chemistry on set was undeniable, and our scenes together were electric.
When it came to press week, Henry and I found ourselves doing interviews with one another. Spending almost every day together. Neither of us getting annoyed with the other.
We got the usual questions and gave the usual answers.
"What was your favorite scene to film?"
"Tell people what they should most anticipate from this movie."
When it came to the interviewer asking me what I thought about Henry and what Henry thought about me. We gave a polite, generic answer before moving on to the next question.
During a particularly long press day, we took our seats in two director chairs with the poster of our movie behind us. We sat there making small talk before the Interviewer entered, being fashionably late.
Although it was just an interview, I still wanted to look my best. Wearing a dress that I found laying in my closet a couple of weeks ago before the press started. Although, I didn't think the dress was very special. Henry did, his eyes were on me like glue. He zoned out, staring at me not caring about what the unprofessional interviewer was asking.
As the interview went on, she asked me a question that I could suspect from a mile away. "What's the chemistry like on set for you two?"
I chuckled and shook my head, "It's easy to get distracted...I mean, have you seen Henry? It's hard not to have a crush on him." I laughed brushing it off. I knew more than half the girls watching this interview agreed with me.
Henry left his trance. Trying to put together what he just heard come out of my mouth. He blinked, nodding his head trying not to open his mouth and say something he shouldn't say in front of the camera.
"And you, Henry?" The interviewer asked.
Henry scoffed before giving a small smirk. His blue eyes trailed down my body. "Well...I, too, get distracted during scenes. The number of times I had to call 'line' because I was too busy admiring how she looked..." Henry smirked turning his head to look into my eyes. I looked right back at him.
Our eyes locked, and the interviewer's questions faded into the background. It was as if we were the only two people in the room. I felt my cheeks get warm as Henry's eyes trailed down to my lips, a soft smile stretched on my face. The tension between us was palpable.
"Well, that's all the questions I have. Thank you for coming." The camera switched off.
"Thank you!" Henry and I said in sync, jumping out of our seats and to the exit.
Out front was the black van with tinted windows, waiting to pick us up. Henry walked ahead of me. Opening the car door and letting me in first. I sat down with a sigh, laying back in my chair. Henry sitting beside me, buckling his seatbelt.
"Thank God today is over." I groaned before buckling my own.
Henry gave a soft laugh before looking out the window.
We were currently in London for press. Driving down the busy streets of traffic. Henry would occasionally point out places he'd been to when he was little. He suggested that when we had a day off he would show me the city. Saying he would take me to all the Michelin-star restaurants that I wanted to go to.
Once we were at the hotel we rushed to check into our rooms.. Both our managers gave us the best Suites the Hotel could offer and we were eager to see them. "You can leave your bags here, someone will bring them to you shortly." The concierge smiled.
Henry and I entered the elevator, clicking the button that said '20' on it. The elevator doors slid open and we stepped into the hallway, about to part ways but, I was stopped by Henry's voice.
"Y/N, Can I talk to you for a moment?" he asked, his eyes searching mine.
I nodded, feeling my nerves jump as my eyes connected with his. "Of course, what's up?"
Henry took a deep breath, "I can't keep acting like there's nothing there, Y/N... I have feelings for you, and I can't keep pushing that down and ignoring it..."
My heart skipped a beat. We both knew damn well there was something there, but neither of us knew how or when to bring it up, and thank God he did it before me. I had the largest smile on my face, Henry waits for my response.
"I've felt the same way for...such a long time." I whisper.
Henry took my hand in his, I looked down and noticed how perfectly my hand fits in his, it was smaller than his but not by a lot. His hands were warm and smoother than I thought. " I don't want to waste any more time pretending... I want to be with you."
I smiled, feeling warmth in my chest, "I want to be with you too. But, what about our jobs?"
"That doesn't matter." He said moving his hand up to cup my cheek. "It can be our secret..."
I leaned my head into his touch with a relaxed smile. His hand warming up my even warmer face.
"Ahem,"
The two of us snapped back to reality to see a bellboy with our bags. He handed them to us before rushing back to the elevator acting as if he didn't see anything.
We looked at each other awkwardly not knowing what to do next.
"I should go to my room now..."
Henry cleared his throat and gave a nod. "Right," I could see the pink stretching on his face.
I made it to my room and threw my bag onto the ground. Slipping off my shoes, I fall onto my bed and lay there for a moment, trying to recall what had just happened. When I finally realize what this meant I squeal, covering my face as I can feel my body full of butterflies.
I sit up in my bed and look out the window at the most incredible view. Maybe I should get out for a little bit, and see the city. Before I could even get up there was a knock at my door. I slip my shoes back on and look through the peephole to see Henry standing there.
I open the door and he's looking down at me with another smile of his.
"How about that restaurant?" He asked.
I didn't hesitate. I nodded my head and held out my hand, he placed his in mine without a second thought.
