I hate how coconut milk is becoming like THE milk replacement in health foods. Like bro what do I do if I'm lactose intolerant AND allergic to coconuts 😭 please just give me something I can eat

I am currently attempting to make vegan bolognese (mushrooms, walnuts, and lentils in place of meat). It smells pretty good so far, but I won't know for a while. I really hope it turns out well.

80% of the flavor of eggnog comes from the seasoning so if you want it but cant have milk or dairy try like. horchata or something. its not thick or sickeningly sweet but the flavor profile is pretty similar

I'm intolerant to casein and lactose, so I've tasted all sorts of non-dairy milks.
First off, the best ones are actually blends. Almond-coconut blends are absolutely fantastic. They pair well with just about anything.
Cashew-almond blends are also good, and creamier than the two would be alone.
Cashew-coconut blends are also pretty decent, but they don't pair as well together as almond-coconut.
Oat milk doesn't seem to pair well with any other non-dairy milk. However, oat milk is rich and creamy. I love it almost as much as the Almond-Coconut blends. It makes probably the best vegan ice creams.
Cashew milks are delicious, but also very hard to find. Cashew milk shines more when its used to make vegan/non-dairy ice cream. The flavors mix well with its creamier taste.
Coconut milk is better for cooking. Unless it's mixed with another non-dairy milk, it can be too watery. However, they make very creamy and very intense non-dairy/vegan ice creams.
Almond milks are also good for cooking and can sometimes make a good non-dairy/vegan ice cream. Alone they just are a bit watery. When sweetened with vanilla, they're more drinkable.
Hemp milk as an odd aftertaste. It's more watery than expected. Harder to find, and often best if used for GF oatmeal or cereal.
Soy milk has a horrible after taste that lingers like spoiled bananas.
Rice milk is what sadness tastes like.
