Nolan Sorrento is genuinely so pathetic, and yet I still kind of want to explore his character via fanfiction, even though I know I’m just going to find that yeah, he’s pretty pathetic.

The Nolan Sorrento Poster Saga

In the immortal words of Thomas Sanders “Story Time!” I could tell you I’ll try to keep it brief. You should know me better than that. 1. Excuse the awful phone camera I had 2. Note, I lived in NYC for a year at the time of happening

Also it’s the Year-Versary of this starting, today, so it’s appropriate!

Okay! Picture this! On February 2nd 2018 (A day that will now go down in history) I watched Rogue One for the first time... And... Really DIDN’T like Krennic. I think I laughed when he died? Baby I’m sorry, I love you now! How the HELL did we get here!? The problem is I don’t KNOW!!! And I wish I did! All I can tell you is this fic (READ IT!) was a large part of it but why I was reading it I can’t even tell you. By-and-by - I was crushing hard on Ben Mendelsohn by the time March 31st rolled around. And that’s where this story begins!

I didn’t even want to see Ready Player One until I saw Ben was in it. That didn’t stop me thus complaining every time I saw a poster for RPO that he wasn’t in. Like, a LOT. My friends wanted to see it though, so they dragged me along. So. Then Nolan Sorrento happened. And I tell ya, this film just wrote half the fanfiction for me (X1 anyone?) so that’s what I did. Fair to say I was pretty hooked on Sorrento by April 2nd. When I was minding my own business with a visiting UK friend in Times Square and this happened: It was April 3rd somewhere!

...I even went as far as googling what happened with the Times Square posters when they’re done with them... Because in the UK at least sometimes they give the posters away so... call me obsessed

April 5th happens and I’m passing through Times Square after a concert. Looking for my man - it’s GONE! GONE! I mean... They can’t have been up long because I passed through all the time so what the hell!? I thought it was over... April 7th - I meet up with a very good Brooklyn based friend of mine and for some reason mentioned RPO, I mean I know Nolan is MOTM but I guess I just wanted to get the poster situation off my chest. I also decide to go see the movie again. Rocking up to AMC Empire 25 I am faced with this:

I mean... STOP! I didn’t even really LIKE the movie; but I LOVED him. I decided I needed to eventually get my hands on an actual poster because that’s what seeing all of these meant, right?!

So. August rolls around. I’m about to leave NYC. I haven’t forgotten about it, I’m just waiting until I get back to the UK. I meet up with my Brooklyn friend for the final time before I go back and she brings me gifts... SHE’S ONLY GOT ME NOLAN SORRENTO’S CHARACTER POSTER!! WHY IS SHE FEEDING THE SAGA!?! I MEAN SHE COMPLETED THE SAGA BUT WHAT--!? DID I CRY!? YOU BET---!!!

Needless to say, I was super impressed that she remembered from April something I’d mentioned briefly but also just... so surprised!? I just...  So now I have one! And I’d show you a picture only he’s at home-home and not where I’m living at the moment... SO look out for that. Also, that means he just became a massive part of my time living in NYC... And I just... That’s what it all reminds me of? I feel there’s a lot more to my love for Nolan Sorrento than just my love for Nolan Sorrento...

I just felt like sharing that ridiculous moment and just highlighting that I have some very very very good friends... But essentially this pretty much covers my Mendo story. This is how it all happened. It’s all really Nolan Sorrento’s fault (and a little bit Krennic, eventually.) And it’s also maybe part of the reason why Nolan is my favourite and why it’s going to be so hard for any other Mendo character to remove him from the top spot...

  So I’m going to go watch Ready Player One again because every time I watch I find something new to add to this damn fanfic...!
