I know this is a hot take nobody likes and it’s like the major reason why I have no place in SPN fandom circles, cos I’d be kicked out in 10 second, but I honestly still think that Castiel should have just stayed dead past S12 xD

Mind you, him waking up in the Empty is fine. I would have preferred if he had an Empty related subplot that came up every couple episodes or so, and build up for an epic resolution like destruction of Heaven and Hell or waking up and uniting angelkind or anything, instead of the Empty being like after thought of plot.

Tho, I agree that episodes like Tombstone or Scoobynatural or whatever are super entertaining, and like, Castiel is a fun, adorable character that endears the episode by just being there. You can’t really tell me that he did anything significant post-S12. He got roundhouse kicked by regular demons and was absent half the season without reason. I feel like, if he had fully developed subplot elsewhere his little presence would have been more significant, and initial come back to the living more of an impact. At least it should have happened like, right next episode to his burial, like what’s the point of Dean preparing his body for the burning if he’s back again next episode regardless.

Tho I know I’m in the minority here, and people hate me anyway as is. People hate me for being peeved that Sam isn’t considered Jack’s dad as much Dean and Castiel so you know.

Actually, for reals, I am hated for not really givig a shit how badly the series ended. I honestly don’t care all that much Castiel went to superhell for gays, the show ended so vaguely that had it had a s16 he’d be back in episode 2 and I have no reason to believe anything was real. And I don’t really mind that all that much, seems pretty by the books for SPN.
