—No dejo de pensar en ella.

Ahí está. Como viene diciendo hace dos semanas atrás. Marcos, que exasperante ya se pone, no le da bola a esta mujer; que dice «no dejo de pensar en ella», rompe las pelotas todos los días esta ¡Está loca!

—Micaela... haceme el favor ¿No podemos tener un desayuno tranquilo por hoy? —sube el tono de voz gradualmente. Da un golpe a la mesa acompañado de un chistido que indica su notable malhumor. Micaela que muy asustada anda larga un chillido que hasta el perro de la esquina logra escuchar. El canino chico se guarda en la cucha y atemorizado se queda.

Enseguida los vecinos se levantan. «Ah, para venir a chusmetear no son vagos estos» —piensa Marcos, con los huevos llenos ya. Colmada la paciencia ya. Un vecino viene cantando un saludo y tal como piensa Marcos, el vecino se acerca para enterarse de la situación «¿Por qué Micaelita grita tan temprano?»

—Mirá, Albertino —empieza con prepotencia—, son cosas de pareja. Ya conocés a Mica, a veces reniega temprano.

El viejo lo mira desconfiado, como a todos menos a su Micaelita. Su debilidad. Su ahijadita. Examina sus palabras un ratito y no se logra descifrar si le tiene idea o como a Micaela, también le gusta renegar temprano. De repente se pone rojo, aprieta la mandíbula y amenaza con estamparle una piña a Marcos.

—También conozco bien a Carlos ¡Y sé que no le va a gustar nada enterarse de que le pegás a Mica —resonga el anciano, el brazo le temblequea y enseguida lo baja por el cansancio mismo.

Marcos lo mira desde abajo, Albertino es muy bajo y fácilmente lo pisaría como a un escarabajo. «No se puede ni las patas este viejo» —sigue ensimismado Marcos. Pero a la vez, si no lo viera, las carcajadas se escucharían más que sus pensamientos, el padre de Micaela ya no vive. Entonces usa la cara más seria que puede hacer y decide sin más echarlo.

—Bueno, Albertino, digale. —gesticula un ademán y cierra la puerta en su cara.

Qué tipo maleducado.

Todavía no puede probar un mísero sorbo de té, así que ya lo pone bravo la situación. Se gira y Micaela lo está mirando sin expresión.

Qué tipa aburrida.

Suspira y se echa en el sillón, el té seguro se enfrió y los huevos quedaron un poco crudos (conociendo a Micaela), así que no quiere pensar en nada más, arrebatado de todo toma el control y prende su Noblex que todavía aguanta después de unos golpeteos. Mira un rato y finge interesarse por la separación de Wanda Nara y Maxi López. «Ja, la Icardiada...»

—Marquitos...

Y qué lo parió ¿Tan mal iba a empezar el día? El señor de cuarenta y tantos pone los ojos en blanco como si fuera la respuesta de un adolescente rebelde a su madre. Micaela lo ve de otra forma. Le gusta verlo irritado, la pone de los pelos pero en el buen sentido. Aprovecha la posición de Marcos para sentarse arriba suyo, y en su regazo lo agarra de los hombros para empezar a mecer sus caderas. El hombre metido en la nueva atmósfera que su esposa creó le sigue el ritmo. Su antigua opinión cambia a mata caballo, qué tipa más caliente.

—Marquitos, hablame.

El nombrado la mira al toque, pero no le habla. Más bien besa la piel que Micaela dispone antes de hacerlo. La mujer reacciona enseguida, chilla en ocasiones porque sabe que a Marcos –aunque no parezca– le gusta que exagere.

—¿Vamos al jardín?

—No —le cuesta responder, chilla una vez más y Marcos se vuelve loco— ¿Para qué?

—Yo tampoco dejo de pensar en ella.

Así es como la convence en menos de lo que canta un gallo. Enamorados van de la mano al patio trasero. Es grande y el verde te llena la vista. Mucho verde te asquea capaz, pero a ellos les encanta hacer el amor sintiendo el rocío del césped mezclarse con el sudor de sus pieles. Les encanta y a Micaela le encantó más ver cómo Marcos enviudaba hace casi dos décadas en el mismo patio con ellos dos presentes. Lo malo y además del encanto, es que ambos no pueden con la culpa, por eso, desde que se desposaron hacen el amor en el patio, para recordar a la difunta que solo tenía a Marcos y desde ese momento tiene a Micaela también.
