Crosshair being overly protective is something that can be so personal. He’s attached to Omega much more than he ever was with his brothers.

“You good? Got your crossbow? Sure you can carry those supplies?”

Like this line of questioning screams I care about you, your safety, and how you’re feeling. His emotional development is centered around Omega and his NEED to protect her. It’s not something that was forced onto him either, it came naturally. It’s a part of his nature to protect her.

And then he says “Stay close. It’s easy to get lost in this terrain.”

“You’re as bad as Hunter.” (Omega)

“Oh, I’m much worse.”

Like what?!? Huh? I know what you mean but how much worse? It’s that, I’d kill for you, I’d die for you protectiveness from CROSSHAIR.

Omega reciprocating that concern and protectiveness too though!

“I’ll draw his fire. Get to the rendezvous.” “I don’t like that idea.” “Too bad.”

The way he said “Too bad.” So soft and careful not to offend her.

Omega is probably gonna be the one to reveal who cx-2 is. These episodes have pretty much solidified my theory on who it is. Especially now with Omegas proximity to him, it’s someone she knows. She doesn’t know any other reg clones except Rex and Echo (and a few others) so it can’t be Cody, Dogma, or Fives (that was a possibility in my head for a bit started crying thinking about it). It’s Tech and if it isn’t well than that’s just bad story telling and so far this story has been amazing. So it’s gotta be Tech.

Also Howzer and Nemec noticing how much he cares about Omega and talking to him later about it. Cross opening up about being disposable. His character development is amazing he didn’t need to say much but he got his point across before he would’ve just sighed and kept walking.

I just rewatched the last few mins of the episode and I realized Crosshair said “Omega, it’s been months.” Not to save her from the reality of their brothers not being there. That was to save himself from seeing them again.

“Omega didn’t leave me behind when she could have. I owe her.”

Cross’ hand being touched with the kindest intention behind it and the look on his face when she did it

I am never going to stop talking about how hot it was to see Hunter driving like that. Holy shit. His control and giving out orders while in such a stressful situation. I mean ofc this is what he was born for but omegas safety is on the line. His hyper focus to get the mission done and the info they need. GIVE HIM HIS FLOWERS.

Ofc we already know Hunter would go to the ends of the galaxy if it meant omega was safe. But something about his behavior in this episode really broke and warmed my heart.

He’s tired. He’s broken. He never wanted any of this and it shows in the way he doesn’t acknowledge with his words that omega is back on Tantiss. A lot of us (including me) thought we would see his anger like we did in ‘The Return’ but now his words at the end of that episode are echoing how he’s acting now.

“I have regrets too Crosshair. All we can do is keep trying to be better. And who knows? There just might be hope for us yet.’”
