Scenes From a Cargo Bay
Gen - James Vega & FemShep friendship story
Summary: A friendship unfolds.
A million thank yous to @swaps55 for her enthusiasm for all things but most especially this story, and for betaing it last night.
The first time Shepard comes down to the cargo bay, she still has soot streaked across her face. Sweat and maybe a few tears cut thin lines through the gritty gray. She attacks the clasps of her armor with hands that James can see shaking from behind his stack of crates. Piece by piece, it gets thrown on the table in the corner.
He drops a box of ammo, just so she hears it. He doesn’t think it would be that easy to sneak up on the great Commander Shepard, but it still seems polite. She doesn’t startle, but then, he knew she wouldn’t.
“Kaidan’s going to be fine,” she says when she’s done with the armor. Just a white t-shirt and her thermal pants underneath, indents from the armor still visible on both. She leans over the table, arms spread wide and stiff. Spots of sweat make the shirt stick on her back in odd shapes.
The only words they’ve exchanged since leaving Earth were right there, right where she’s standing, when he yelled at her to go back, to fight the Reapers, to make a difference. But he’d been thinking small, even though he was thinking of the whole Earth. Like any good marine, he solves the problems in front of him, often with enormous guns. It’s different for Shepard, he knows it is.
After Mars, it still isn’t different for him, but he doesn’t resent her. Not for leaving Earth, anyway.
He wonders suddenly if it’s weird for her, him being on the ship, a reminder of her time in that small room on Earth, held captive because of the terrible decisions this war keeps forcing her to make. He wonders if he’d have had the cojones to blow up a relay.

"at least one of these stories was debunked a while ago. I don’t have the details, I wasn’t the one who debunked it, but I saw the screenshots that prove it" What kind of desperate-for-attention psycho does that? How badly do you want his attention that you'd take something so serious and so close to his heart and exploit it just so you can get a response? That's some sick, manipulative shit right there, and his "fandom" needs to police their own if people are doing this. Inappropriate.
Not sure what else I can add here honestly but that’s part of my problem with most of twitter in general tbh. In their minds it’s totally acceptable to lie and be manipulative and deceptive to get a response or a like or another screenshot to add to the virtual fridge to brag about.
It’s okay to be exclusive and cliquey in group chats and declare themselves a separate entity from the Good Omens fandom and everyone better recognize the Sheendom because they’re so different or great or whatever bullshit they’re trying to float.
It’s okay to dogpile, harass and bully people out of the fandom when they have a differing opinion they don’t like about Anna yet turn around and hurl the same insults at others while claiming saying anything about Anna is an attack on feminism.
It’s okay to be overly sexual and obscene and openly discuss what his dick looks like or his “tiddies” in a public forum with minors present in the fandom. The list goes on, but you get my point here.
They’re not exactly saints no matter how much they try and hijack the narrative and bleat otherwise with their oh so “charitable” actions. One good deed doesn’t erase the many other bad ones, js. With all the evidence from their past actions, I am of the belief that a large majority of what is being said in regards to mental health is just a manipulation tactic for attention from Michael. They know it works more than some of the other ways they try.
Hell, I’ve had people within these twitter group chat cliques come to me in private and tell me they know it works and they do it BECAUSE it works. I’m pretty sure this has come up here on the blog in the past, even.
The sad part is that nobody has the gall to police each other and nobody will because not only are they lacking the cojones to, they don’t want to cause a rift on twitter with the folks who do all those things I just outlined.
It just....baffles me that they KNOW these people are the way they are enough to not want to cause any drama themselves and allow it continue while preaching about how accepting and charitable they are.
Sorry, kids. Hate to break it to you. You’re not a part of an accepting wonderful lovely group if you have to actively censor yourself to where you can only speak your mind anonymously here or anywhere else to avoid the ire of your peers.

Best Star Wars Trading Card Sets to Celebrate Lucasfilm’s 50th Anniversary
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article is part of our Collector’s Digest content series powered by:
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm. To say the corporation that George Lucas founded as a way to realize his artistic vision forever altered popular culture is akin to understating the heat of the sun. Indeed, it is incomprehensible to think of a world without Lucasfilm and the wonders it has given us over the course of the past half century.
What initially began as a way for Lucas to pursue his creativity outside of the auspices of the Hollywood machine is a fascinating story in and of itself – one whose irony is impossible to overlook given how the independent filmmaking ideologies held by the company eventually gave way to the biggest film franchise in history. And that’s not to overlook the significant artistic and technological achievements Lucasfilm unleashed, Ark of the Covenant style, with the Indiana Jones franchise.
Lucasfilm is an embedded part of the mainstream fifty years later. Yet the company has never strayed far from its initial mission statement of creating works that elicit genuine wonder. The fact that Lucasfilm productions often offer profound commentary on the human condition – even when a huge chunk of the characters who populate the Star Wars universe aren’t human – is just another example of the creative alchemy they continue to conjure.
As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite merchandise spawned by the company’s releases, namely Topps trading cards. (Besides, Lucasfilm and its consumer output has an ouroboros-like relationship at this point). Below you’ll find an assortment of trading cards lines that Topps has issued inspired by the various Star Wars films and television shows.
All of these offerings represent not only how Lucas and Lucasfilm deconstructed and rebuilt science fiction into a far-reaching phenomenon but also the simple ways that collectibles are a part of our shared history. Maybe you have fond memories of buying a pack of The Empire Strike Back cards off of your local ice cream truck, or warm reflections about schoolyard discussions about Jabba the Hutt spawned by trading Return of the Jedi trading cards. These memories are a part of why the Star Wars saga is so meaningful to fans the world over, and we have Lucasfilm and Topps to thank for this.  And thankful, we truly are. Here now, is a look at some of Lucasfilm and Topps’ greatest collaborations.
Topps Star Wars Unopened Trading Card Box
Price: $2,000 – $4,000
Impossible though it may seem from a 2021 perspective, there was a time when Star Wars collectibles were downright difficult to find. Kenner’s infamous Early Bird Certificate issued for Christmas of 1977 was essentially an empty cardboard sleeve that promised action figures that didn’t technically exist yet. Other quickly produced merchandise like inflatable lightsabers (which, admittedly are kinda badass), puzzles, and a board game helped temporarily quell the desire for all things related to a galaxy far, far away.
Of the initial products, the one that has endured the longest is Topps’ various trading cards. For a mere 15 cents, would-be Star Warriors could get several cards with full color images from the film, a dazzling sticker – you’d feel like royalty if you’d score a Darth Vader one – and a stick of gum. These were inexpensive, highly collectible, and super cool. Not only did they help introduce a generation to trading cards, but the five different colored lines that make up the series remain some of the most desired Star Wars collectibles ever. Which is why an unopened box of these cards will set you back a pretty penny. The bragging rights owning one will give you though? Priceless.

The Empire Strikes Back Series 3 Unopened Pack
Price: $5 – $30
When it came time for Topps to release card sets for The Empire Strikes Back, the company ramped up the excitement in a manner befitting the source material. There were three separate sets released for the sequel, with the 88-card set in the third series being arguably the most exciting. Why? The third series offered everything from comic styled depictions of characters like Boba Fett and “Probot” to jaw-dropping art from visionary Ralph McQuarrie to deliciously melodramatic captions like “Threepio in a Jam!” and “Dodging Deadly Laserblasts!” Recreating the action of the film on a trading card feels like an impossible task, one Topps was somehow able to achieve.

The Empire Strikes Back Full Color Giant Photocards Unopened Pack
Price: $5.99 to $14.99
Back in 1980, Topps pulled off the impressive feat of selling a single Star Wars card for 20 cents. Yes, they really had some cojones to attempt to pull off such a stunt, but this move was about way more than milking the Star Wars cash cow. Each of these 30 “Giant Photocards” from The Empire Strikes Back was a behemoth suitable for locker display and/or framing. Unfortunately, consumers weren’t buying the whole less-is-more thing, and the line evaporated quicker than Luke’s snowy vision of Ben Kenobi.

Return of the Jedi Trading Cards Unopened Box
Price: $300 – $500
Let’s be honest, Return of the Jedi was a bittersweet affair. It marked the end of the original Star Wars trilogy, and some viewers found it to be a disappointing wrap up. Add to that the uncertainty of when we would see these characters again, and you’ve got a recipe for some complicated feelings. Not that you’d know any of this galactic ennui from the movie’s merchandise, which paints it as a fun-packed — if somewhat underwritten — conclusion to the Skywalker story. (What little we knew back in 1983, huh?)
The corresponding card line from Topps tended to focus on the film’s biggest moments. In the process, it presented a clear image of what Return of the Jedi truly was: inspired pop entertainment for a galaxy of moviegoers.

Star Wars 3Di Widevision Card Set
Price: $50 – $75
Topps is consistently at the forefront of trading card technology, and this is exemplified by their 1996 3Di Widevision Card set. Building on the Widevision style they premiered the previous year, these cards featured images from Star Wars that replicated their original aspect ratio. More than that though, each entry in the series recounted the film’s story through lenticular images that seemed to pop off of the card. More than a mere novelty, this felt like the evolution of trading cards.

1993 Star Wars Galaxy Unopened Box
Price: $80 – $100
After what seemed to be an eternity but was actually just about a decade, Star Wars started to roar back to life in the early 1990s due to Expanded Universe material like Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn novels and Topps’ Star Wars Galaxy card lines. Enlisting the aid of a diverse array of artists that included Mad Magazine’s Sergio Aragones and poster art legend Drew Struzan, this set – punctuated by rare foil etched chase cards – expanded the parameters of the Star Wars universe in richly inventive ways.
Ever wonder what Chewie did in his off hours? Or how various artists interpreted the Droids? This line answered those questions, and many more. The Galaxy line was such a success that it spawned several sequel lines as well as a 2018 reboot. As amazing as these subsequent lines have been, they don’t have the sheer magic of the 1993 original, which reminded us of how the possibilities of Star Wars were as infinite as the universe itself.

Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens Set
Price: $40 – $160
The Star Wars saga is rich with repeating motifs and characters whose paths echo in unexpected and exciting ways. In 2015, Topps released the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens card set to show how the franchise’s past influenced its future. The Force may not always be in balance, but Star Wars merchandising is!

The Mandalorian eBay Exclusive Topps Card Set
Price: $50 – $85
If you’ll allow us to get meta for a moment, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention this release from The Mandalorian that was available last year as an eBay exclusive. Topps gave this 10-card set a retro feel by utilizing a Mars Attacks-esque font and gorgeous retro art that really drives the whole galaxy far, far away point home.

Dark Angel : Creation. Battle Plans Part 6
Sin: *With a nod at Sean I acknowledge he is correct and take my seat at the table. Now that we have method, we need means, so let us see what we resources we have available. Thoughtfully, I begin…*
Once the Inguz rune is removed the Horseman will immediately become aware of my location. In that instance I will begin to pull power from him through the open link and I believe that will cause him to attack. But as we surmise he will try to wear me down we can assume he will send in those he considers cannon fodder. How many are in this “fifth column” Bryn speaks of?
Zav: My estimate is near 300.
--growling a little as I set my jaw --
All are fighters and completely loyal to the Horseman. These souls were bound for the Hells and he offered them an out by being his personal Brown Shirts. They don’t take the names the Fates send to us. We’ve given up even trying to direct them. Instead, they act as assassins and soul thieves, killing innocents that the Horseman has consigned to Lucifer.
Sin: *I feel my countenance grow as hard as my heart at this. There is no greater betrayal of our purpose. That the one to whom the Fates entrusted this responsibility has not only personally betrayed it, but has enlisted an entire battery of minions to fulfill his betrayal only heightens my resolve to end this. Coldly I ask*
There are thousands of reapers across the world. How many will be loyal to you and are capable of fighting?
Sean: Uneasily Bryn, Adrian and Zav all look at one another and then at me. Clearing my throat,
“Loyal to us beyond question? Of the 5000 reapers not part of his storm troopers? I’d say four thousand. Able to do more than defend themselves? A thousand. Capable of fighting against this crew? Maybe two hundred.
Sin: *I raised my eyebrow at Sean*
I thought you said you had initiated training for the recruits he brought in after I left.
Sean: Ouch. That stung, but dammit we did the best we could with what we were given.
“I said we put ‘em through boot camp and rode ‘em hard. But the majority of them weren’t capable of the mindset it takes to be a soldier, so the best we could do for them was make sure they could take care of themselves in a pinch until help could get there. For the most part, that’s been enough. The ones we can’t count on to be loyal to us are weak and indecisive. They should have never been recruited but after you the Horseman wasn’t interested in having reapers with strong ethics.  We’ve tried to keep them to creampuff assignments and in a mass casualty event they’re paired with ones we know we can trust. Look,” running my hand through my hair in frustration, “I know it sucks there’s that many that just don’t have the loyalty or ability in them, but hey /we/ didn’t pick ‘em. We just tried to get them into the best shape we could.”
Zav: --Sean looks as frustrated as the rest of us feel. The truth is reapers shouldn’t have to be warriors, at least not all of them. The system was set up to comfort and assist souls in moving on, not fighting off asshole demons. Unfortunately, the Horseman has screwed with the plan so much that now reapers need to be able to fight. Maybe one day Sin can set that to rights, but I’m not betting on it. A little taste of power is intoxicating and Lucifer was fucking drunk on it. —
Sean’s right, Sin. The ones that we can count on learned as much as they were able. Some of it comes down to sheer physicality. They don’t have the muscle or athleticism or they just don’t have the cojones to do more than defend themselves. Some have the balls but not the ability. That leaves us with about 200 that have both.”
Adrian: -- My lips set in a thin line. Failure wasn’t something Spartans dealt with well and it had irked me when we were given basically nothing to work with.—
We did what we could with what we had Sin. None of us have ever been happy about it but we held it together the best we could.
Sin: *Elbows on the table, I tent my hands and rest my forehead against them for a moment. This is my fault and I am aware of it. I left them to do the best they could. Given the circumstances, I could not have done other without becoming as big of a monster as the Horseman had become, but I still will not excuse myself. Finally, I look up*
Indeed you did and I am sorry my friends. The responsibility for this state of affairs lies with me. I should have returned to you much sooner.
*Heaving a determined sigh, I focus on the situation as it stands.*
Since we will not have superior numbers we must focus on giving ourselves other tactical advantages. The first should be terrain. And we need to keep mortal races away from this. There would be casualties among them and I will not re-enact the crime that has brought us to this place.
Bryn: “We need more than the high ground. We need a place I can ward.” At their questioning looks I add, “I was Boudicca’s strategist for more than my magic back in the day. We kept the Romans not only at bay, but on the run for as long as we did because she let me select battlegrounds that my sisters and I could lay the traps in. If Boudicca had listened to me after Mags and Aeryn were killed and given me more time, the entire history of the UK and western Europe might have been re-written. And I’ve got some ideas here.”
Sin: *Interesting. Whereas I would have thought Adrian might be the strategist of this group, it seems our quick-thinking witch is taking point.*
Have you a specific location in mind, Bryn, or are you generalizing?
Bryn: “Both. We need somewhere that has places I can put wards and traps without them being obvious. Once we agree on location, we can get specific about what kind of magick we need. And I have a place I mind that might work.”
Raising my hands above the table, I close my eyes and murmur “Callanish a ’nochdadh.” In an instant an image of a 13 enormous stones standing in a circle on a grassy plain hovers over the table.
“The Standing Stones of Callanish on the Isle of Lewis. It’s a place of power.” Raising my eyes to Sin’s, “Power I can use to reinforce wards, or traps. And power you can use if you need it. The center stone, the monolith here in the center is the reservoir. Just behind it is the tomb of a powerful druid priest. It’s his power that’s in the megalith.”
Sin: *tilting my head as I look at the image and thinking…*
Yes, I remember this place and the souls there. But there were two, as I recall. I took them to Elysia some 5000 years ago, give or take. Their mortal souls did not return to this plain. They ascended. I had wondered if beings of power took such things with them upon ascension, but it seems he, at least, did not.
Sean: I had been a druid priest as well as a warrior in my last life, and likely in all the lives I’d had before it. In that last life it had grown to a specific manifestation…empathy I could wield to help, to heal, or to harm. If when I’d died in that last life I’d ascended, it would have returned to the earth to eventually be given to another. Now, we would be the channel that funneled that priest’s power to another. But there’s no way to know who. Sin? It seemed likely, but the power itself would choose.
Quietly…. “Druids take it with them from life to life until they ascend. We have no need of it on that plane. His power is there, sealed into the stone with his blood. But once we tap that, it’s loose and it will look for its next host.”
Sin: *looking sharply at Sean*
The power chooses? Would it choose one of our enemies, Sean? Does it seek a vacuum of power to fill or simply a host?
Sean: Shaking my head, “It will seek a host with characteristics similar to its last host. The priest ascended, which says there was no darkness in him, so this power will also be looking for a soul filled with light. To go to one with any darkness in it would weaken it, and it seeks to maintain its balance in the universe. That lets out both Death and the rogue reapers, but it doesn’t clue us in as to who it will go to once it’s free again.”
Sin: *slowly I nod my head, filing this information away for future analysis. Tilting my head I focus on the stone circle, analyzing its value in the type of battle we will fight* There are stones leading to the circle in lines from all four directions. Is there power there as well?
Sean: I need to take a deep breath before I can go on. Bryn couldn’t have known, but this place is very personal to me.
“I know Callanish very well. There is power in all the stones. See, when a high priest or priestess, a prophet or prophetess, died at least one of their circle would have volunteered as sacrifice so their blood could be used to seal spells into the surrounding stones to protect the high priest’s power from being stolen by the unworthy. We already understood that the life we were in wasn’t the last we were destined to live so it was seen as an honor. In this case, it was his wife. She wanted their souls to travel together. She was sacrificed in front of the monolith, her blood drained to seal the approach stones and then her body buried in a cairn below the ground just at the northeast edge, symbolically guarding the perimeter. It’s her power in the stones outside the circle.”
Sin: *Intently, I gaze at Sean. There is more here…* If you knew of this place why was it Bryn brought it to us? You were a warrior as well as a druid priest. Why did you not think of this place?
Sean: And here’s the rub of it. My face sets in stone as immobile as the monolith at the circle’s center. There’s a long story behind this, but a simple answer is all I can give right now.
“Because I never thought of it as a place of power. I always thought of it as my parents’ grave.”

Ben Stokes is a very modern genius… but we have to make sure he doesn’t burn out
Sportsmail's cricket experts are considering a sensational Headingley test, Ben's heroism Stokes and consider the destination of the ash now.
Have you seen a larger test?
Paul Newman (Cricket correspondent)
No, this is not a privilege to be there. How can a team for 67 be eliminated and still win? That has not been done for over a hundred years, for God's sake. I was not at Headingley 1981 or Edgbaston 2005, so there really is no competition.
This is why Test Cricket remains the best game and please, please, please always. Isn't that the kind of cricket that will inspire a new audience? I can't bear the prospect of retiring to watch only Twenty20 and heaven forbids The Hundred. I just can not.
Ben Stokes hits a six against Nathan Lyon while Australian captain Tim Paine watches on
Nasser Hussain (former captain of England)
I have seen some of the 1981 series as a young kid, but the only game they performed in the area was the Ashes Test 2005 in Edgbaston. That had incredible drama right at the end, but the difference between that match and Headingley was that Edgbaston had several key players influencing the game at different times, while Headingley was ultimately about one man.
And England won not only after he was eliminated for 67, but they needed 73 with only one wicket in their hand. In terms of wonder, Headingley wins for me.
David & # 39; Bumble & # 39; Lloyd (Broadcaster, former English batsman and coach)
I was out during the game and strangers came to me on the street and said: & # 39; Have you seen what just happened in Headingley? & # 39; It feels as if the game has evoked the spirit of the country, somewhat like Botham's heroism in 1981.
And I also think that more people became involved in this competition. The first four days were sold out, while in the 1981 Headingley test the total turnout in five days was 52,000. I can't think of a test that has caught the nation like this.
Defeat in Headingley allegedly raised questions about Joe Root & # 39; s Test captaincy
Lawrence Booth (Wisden Editor)
The only test I saw in real life that could compete with Headingley 2019 was Edgbaston 2005 – another opportunity when England avoided going 2-0 against Australia through the skin of their teeth (and with a little help from the referee).
But there were three tests to go that summer. The defeat at Headingley would have been curtains and the questions would have started about the captain of Joe Root. Part of the shine of the World Cup would also have been removed.
Three tests were won by teams that followed, and two are equal, but this competition must match each rank.
How about a larger test inning?
Booth : For sheer shock value, Kusal Perera & # 39; s undefeated 153 for Sri Lanka against South Africa in Durban in February (another win with one wicket) will only effort.
For out-and-out cojones, there is Kevin Pietersen & # 39; s Ashes clinching 158 at The Oval in 2005. But for his range of strokes – the driveway here, the straight-sixes everywhere – Ben Stokes must go straight into the upper handful.
After the first innings of England 67, people rightly complain that white-ball cricket had damaged the testing techniques. But without Cricket with white balls, Stokes could not have hit like Sunday. It was a very modern piece of genius.
Hussain : That was the best innings I saw by an Englishman, especially when you consider that you have already climbed one Everest on the World Cup this summer.
He must have been mentally empty, so playing like this was remarkable. As for the foreign innings, everyone spoke earlier this year about the battle of Kusal Perera against Durban, South Africa.
But I also think back to the 281 of VVS Laxman in Kolkata against the Australians of Steve Waugh in 2001, when India won after a sequel and he had to hit a turning point against Shane Warne.
Lloyd : There have been a few. Graham Gooch & # 39; s undefeated 154 in Headingley in 1991 was one, and there was Brian Lara & # 39; s 153 not against Australia in Bridgetown in 1999.
But I have chosen a few that can be compared with Stokes. Mike Atherton & # 39; s 185 not out in nearly 11 hours to save England in Johannesburg in 1999-2000.
Then there is the beautiful 103 from Sachin Tendulkar to help chase India to 387 to beat England in Chennai in 2008-09. It came after the terrorist attack in Mumbai and just felt like the right result in an emotional game.
Newman : No, again. In the dizziness of the moment, I said it was the best innings ever played in Test cricket, and countless views of the highlights don't diminish the hyperbole.
The largest innings I had ever seen before was Graham Gooch on the same Headingley ground in 1991 against the West Indies at their best, with Derek Pringle playing the supporting role. This must be better because the axis was on the line. It was perfect from Stokes in every way.
Where does Stokes go from here?
Stokes is now at the highest point cricketing and is the best all-rounder in the world
Lloyd : I hope he packs his bags and takes his family to a secret hideout for a few days. He just needs to get away and come back refreshed for Manchester.
His life took a wrong turn not so long ago, but this summer everything revolved around redemption: first winning the World Cup, now two hundred in the As.
He did the right thing by leaving and getting fit, and now he has to stay that way. We have always talked about Botham and Flintoff, but the chat is now on Ben Stokes.
Newman : To cricket greatness. To become the best all-rounder in the world and the best that England has ever had. To fulfill all that potential, he threatened to throw away that dark night in Bristol.
To inspire children to pick up the game, Ian Botham did me and so many others all those years ago. And to create that same feeling of awe, I still feel when I meet Sir Beefy in various media centers around the world, because & # 39; it's Ian Botham! & # 39; Stokes can do this now and more.
Booth : further and higher. He's only 28, but he's kept himself in better physical shape than the other two all-rounders in England, Botham and Flintoff, and he has a real love for the game and his teammates.
Stokes is the real leader in this test team, but vice captain is where he should stay: imagine how many overs he would throw if he was in charge.
Now that he has removed Bristol from his system, he can be as good as he wants to be – or possibly as good as the ridiculously busy schedule allows.
He is only 28 and has himself in better shape then kept his predecessor Andrew Flintoff
Hussain : I think Stokes will just keep doing what he did. He will just train hard, and he will not grow up. He remains an incredibly popular teamman.
The only question is how he is cared for, what will be a debate for the ECB and its management company. Yes, he deserves to earn a lot of money at the IPL, and he probably just has another & # 39; 0 & # 39; added to his contract, but they must keep a close eye on his workload.
He is an all-rounder in all three formats, and we must ensure that he does not burn out, like Botham and Flintoff for him.
What should England do now
Hussain : The big question is the fitness of Jimmy Anderson. If he has passed enough overs before the fourth test, and both he and the medical staff think he is fit to play in Manchester, then he fits in with Chris Woakes.
But we cannot pay a repeat of Edgbaston. Regarding beating, I have said all the time that I want to open Joe Denly to open, promote Stokes to No. 4 and allow Jason Roy to No. 5.
The big question for the fourth test at Old Trafford is the fitness of Jimmy Anderson
Lloyd : Will Anderson fit well? It is a risk, especially after Edgbaston. What he needs is good kilometers in his legs, not a two-day two-day practice match.
And if Jason Roy was good enough Two tests ago, he is now good enough. We can't just throw players overboard. The only possible change I would consider is to get Dawid Malan for Joe Denly, but I tend to stay on the same side.
Booth : Two players look a bit tired: Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes. They have both had emotionally declining summers and it is no shame to give them a few races for the winter.
I would give pope at No. 6 (not No. 4, where he did two tests against India last summer) and Sam Curran at No. 8.
about Jimmy Anderson, but they are going risk him after Edgbaston? Moreover, the tail would then consist of two No 10s and two No 11s. That can prove to be expensive.
Chris Woakes looked a bit tired and could make way for Anderson in Manchester
Newman : We cannot only think that everything is now rosy in the English garden. Yes, they can hit well, but they must now continue to win the Ashes and I would make some tweaks.
The experiment with Jason Roy at the top of the order was worth trying, but it didn't work and I would move it to the middle order. Chris Woakes and Jos Buttler still seem to be suffering from a World Cup hangover and I would take them out of line.
And sorry Jonny, but Ben Foakes to eat and take the gloves. He is a real test cricket and deserves another shot. The time of Ollie Pope and Sam Curran will come
What about the Aussies? How do they recover from Headingley?
Booth : Captain Tim Paine spoke a good game on Sunday evening and said that Australia could have won all of the first three tests. And he's right. So the fact that it is 1-1 can give them the sinking feeling they experienced in 1981 and 2005.
Nathan Lyon in particular will have to pick himself up, although not many English cricketers shed a tear for him. Steve Smith's return changes dynamics again, and he should replace Matthew Wade, who himself has only 100 help in the second innings in Edgbaston.
Steven Smith's return to Australian batting line-ups changes dynamics once again
Newman : It will be very difficult for Australia to come back, and England must ensure that this does not happen.
Who knows if Steve Smith will be quite the same when he returns, but there are two clear candidates that he can replace in Usman Khawaja or Matthew Wade. All the pressure is on the Aussies and a captain in Tim Paine whose leadership was as dodgy as his batting in Leeds.
Mitchell Starc plays at the fastest pitch in the series, which is not over yet. But I stick to what I said the moment the Lord's Test was taken. And what I wish I hadn't said when they were thrown out on Friday at 67 AM. England will win the Ashes.
Lloyd : Australia will falter. They've messed up a run-out and used up their reviews, although I still think the lbw scream at Stokes slid down the leg. Hawk-Eye does not seem to have noticed that it deviates after hitting its front path.
As for Nathan Lyon, people will remember the moment he dropped the ball on Vill from ABL after being deflated in a test in South Africa. For me, Smith comes in for Khawaja.
Matthew Wade was able to make way for Smith despite a self-help hundred at Edgbaston
Hussain : the problems in Australia will be psychological. They still have a fantastic bowling attack, and they know everything about the weak vulnerability of England. But they must leave Headingley behind.
Mitchell Starc should come in what is expected to be the fastest throw in the series, probably for James Pattinson, although they may decide that Pat Cummins needs rest. And Steve Smith plays instead of Travis Head or Matthew Wade.
Usman Khawaja has enough credit in the bank to survive. Tim Paine is a problem – both because of his lack of runs and his bad review – but they don't let the captain fall.

Dear Democratic Party.
I have a confession to make. The other day I slipped up and prayed.
Should I make a video confessing to my sin? In front of CNN? And the nation? And promise to never do it again? Should I resign in disgrace? An embarrassed look on my face?
I am guilty of party line violation caught in the act..of prayer and supplication to God.
Only you can save us oh great Democratic Party hacks —- the Saviors and Messiahs of our souls and our nation.
I will meditate on you on a daily basis. Upon my little yoga mat I cross my legs and repeat the phrases, “cross my heart hope to die”,  forgive me for I
have sinned. How can I make amends?
Shame on me!  what kind of proper Luciferian prays, “our Father who art in heaven? Hallowed be thy name? Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven? Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us? And lead us not into temptation but, (and here’s the kicker), “deliver us from evil.”
Oops I said it again,  “deliver us from evil.”
I guess that’s it for me and the Democratic Party. Think of the perks I will lose. But, the Lord I do happily choose, renouncing Satan. Only God can save our nation.
If they had taken one tinth of that energy and focused it half as much to saving mountains and streams...the land, as they do to an idea that is so wispy and unclear, “it depends on what is is”...we would still have mountains in WV.
They destroyed your LAND people!! You were comfortable on your couch watching CNN. Your heart went out to a phenomenon a passing fancy the flavor of the month.  Were the mountains too white for you?  They were raping your mother “to keep the lights on” by destroying the fundamental physical composition of America...Dirt. And ripping it out from under you in front of your televised eyes.
But what threw you into overdrive, What woke you up and ripped the golden pacifier from your mouth ... wasn’t the destruction of the land, the beautiful forests streams and woodlands, it was your own private ultra specific war ... and you exploded! Over a freckle on a sub atomic particle’s ass! An undefinable utopian fantasy that defied sensory perception to all but the most mindful of and vexed by  the anonymity of human existence, the absence of cuddling, by your mommy and daddy who refused to adequately fuss over you who didn’t feel inspired to recognize the 6 year old genius wunderkind goddesses of the universe.  That’s right. you have waged war for 30 years for your right to rule in your happy little universe.  Correct utopian fantasy must be not just worshipped and adored but done so correctly.
That’s what  got you going, spinning sideways out of control ike a top that had run out of petro. Like a drunken Mexican on the streets of Arrested Development.
That’s right. Stop ignoring me or I become a raving mindful lunatic on a yoga mat with a bottle of spring water by my side.
****
Because....you’re sane and they’re not.
For the first time in my life I feel like I am the voice of reason and sanity and moderation . Lol.  That should give you an indication  of how crazy they are. Theyve out crazied T Paige.    It’s a great time a great day a great time for all the unhinged, unglued mentally unstable nut jobs to come out of the woodwork. They have a platform! The worm has turned. For years 50 years at least detente was a good thing! Now the Sore Loser  in Chief, Hillary Clinton and her chieftains are outraged, they need someone to blame for their loss, to save face.  Why not Russia! ???   So they dig themselves in deeper and deeper. Little do they know it’s their own grave.
How does it feel James to be the sanest voice in the room? Kind a cool ain’t it?  God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform!
Trumps approval  rating for July is higher than RR Jimmy Carter and tied w Bill Clinton.
The massive mainstream kgb style propaganda media, crooks, elite, and Facebook are, simply put, on the wrong side, behind the curve.  Congrats James.  Pat yourself on the back. Well deserved.
It’s very simple really. It’s all about practicality. If your ideas are so impractical as to beggar description, If you get inflamed and emotionally overwrought with other people’s responses negative impressions of your “solution”, step out of the echo chamber and into the light of reason. It is time for you to question.  Ask a simple question: what is this shit? Or just do nothing. The pressure to conform should be balanced by reason.
old tyme rockin gospel blues to make your drive more 'interesting' without taking your eyes off the road. or not. the visual is quite interesting too.  I may have stumbled on inter-dimensional photography...see if you can find the creatuers that inhabits these one of a kind photographs by t. paige.

Here is Jim- al X. Zones telling his side of the story. Oops sorry not available.  It’s been deleted since last night when I watched it.  It’s been removed from my YouTube history.
Go ahead try it.  Remember the Dixie chicks? How they were banned? This is no different. Madonna  says she wants to s*** Moamar khadaffi and f*** the guy in the Vanilla H *** but no  repercussions. Sorry Virgin Mary but Hillary blew him first.
It’s coming. Chinese style censorship.  I’m w the ACLU on this one folks. Unpopular opinions should not be banned any more than the library should ban  Catcher in the Rye.  Say goodbye to another freedom as we approach The NannyState.  Men have lost their cojones.
Notice: You cannot NOT care. You must care.  For this thing right here. Not caring for this thing is not allowed.  You must care about women, minorities, etc because we say so. We don’t care but we’re hypocrites. That’s the difference. We’re all sociopaths. So that’s just how it works because...WE HAVE MORE MONEY AND we are IMPORTANT.  You, not so much. So you see it’s not really hypocrisy.
ALSO, you are not allowed to care about your self you selfish Nazi racist bastard.
https://youtu.be/PtfAl6I4SM0
This might get me into trouble.
I posted Pray For our Country and got some anti trumpies comments.  They said  I’ll pray for that man in the WH.  Like he’s the only problem is the only one that we needs to pray about.
It’s starting to really piss me off.  Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.
Is there another reason to pray?  Is it because bombs are being dropped?  Is it because Obama decided we no longer have to declare war to drop bombs on people? Just pick a country. That we can bomb people anywhere anytime we want?
Or is it because someone offended you?  Did it offend you when a convicted pedophile got a standing ovation from most of Hollywood including Meryl Streep at the Academy Awards? Or that madonna said she wanted to blow the White House up?   ( remember the Dixie Chicks! )
Or that Hillary Clinton got a child trafficer off the hook? When she kidnapped 30 children in Haiti? Or that this woman now is working for Amber alert? Under a different name? Is it because Muslim grooming gangs in England kept young girls around for sexual purposes for decades?  Is it because refugees from starving Africa are storming the beaches of Spain?  And roaming the streets of Italy with hatchets and machetes? Is it because there are approximately 1000 no go zones throughout Europe? Where the police do not dare go near?   Is it because there are towns in England that have been Muslimized, the churches and the pubs shut down. Is it because the plan under Hillary was to do the same here?
Is it because the real problem here is hypocrisy and fuzzy think.  Right and wrong no longer matter and is no longer discernible or desired by MSM brainwashed people.  Just don’t offend me ... my delicate feelings are all that matters... none of the above matters. But if you go off script, say something that offends me... ohmy! look out! I am on the warpath and I am marching on Washington!
The problem here is,  “you awake?” is no longer the punch line of a joke about redneck foreplay.
I’m trying to add it all up.  I think I’m making progress:
What happened was nothing compared to what happens later. A descent.
But initially what happened? Each group made their point. Peacefully. Nothing happened. The fact that this had a good outcome, the three opposing groups had their say each in their moment and no one got hurt.
What happens a bit later, media types begin shaming....Your group is to blame. Blame blame blame.
CNN set it up and dutifully the chorus chimed in. On cue just as we have come to expect.
There is something about creating impossible standards for people that sets them up for control. It’s a means of control and repression common among very manipulative types. (Sociopaths)
The real hurt came later. The attacks began. Now it’s a serious thing we are talking about.
Maligning to a certain extent one group or another.
Perhaps there is something to be gained from all of this. Certainly each group has something to say a point to make.
We see what is unreasonable, counterproductive. To some extent in it’s virulence, and unnecessary.
State your point, without bashing the rest of the world. Behave yourself online. Don’t make stupid comments. Don’t make hurtful comments. Don’t attack. Don’t vilify. Because that’s not what happened in the first place.

There’s no reason to think that by the boys not being where they were supposed to be that there was ill intent on their part ... just wandering off.
Apparently these days just about anything no matter how innocent, like wandering off makes you a bad guy. That is very wrong in my opinion. Having white skin makes me a bad guy. It’s called identity politics, but it’s more like a circular firing squad.
And it’s orchestrated by the truly guilty, the fraction of 1% that control our minds. This control is exercised mainly through the Democratic Party these days but in times past it was the Republicans.
Neoliberals have emerged in the same way that neocons emerged and like a parasite have taken over the brain and diverted it 180° opposite from it’s original purpose and identity.
How can you get the majority of peaceful people to go to war without a pearl harbor or a Gulf of Tonkin or an assassination or a 911. Can you actually create a Civil War over an issue? They can. And they work on it day and night. Rust never sleeps.
They have all of the tools and resources. Political power, the media, money.
When Mao was losing power he used his wife to destroy a culture.  I see the Clinton’s and their backers doing basically the same thing.  Any means necessary to retain power. Even if it takes down the whole country in process.  It doesn’t matter who you sleep with. Change the laws change the religion change the family destroy the family blame the culture, blame this one and that one, it’s all justified.
But never blame those w the big $, the ones that have no allegiance but to power and who fund your group. Through their corrupt shell game, foundation/money laundering operation.
I guess what they want more than anything else at this point is civil war. They’ve taken civil disobedience and added violence to the mix and perverted Martin Luther King Jr’s. message or dismissed it.
But most Americans still believe it. Most Americans don’t believe in what the neo liberals are pushing.  They have seen what the neocons did to this country.  And they are not buying this divisive “movement” to further divide us, either.
It’s been around for quite some time, three decades at least. It’s never been about uniting us. It’s never been about us. And that’s what Bernie tried  to do and did! Unite us. And look what happened to him.
The DNC has been exposed and yet they keep on going in the same direction. They are still leading the charge off this cliff. Male against female, black against white etc. And these people the majority of them are good people and couldn’t care less. So they’ve come for the children.
Look how CNN twisted what happened and turned on these boys. Got the whole nation  up in arms against them. Now they get death threats and have been docsed.
Can you imagine CNN calling high school kids “school shooters?”  But that’s the side CNN took.  Against kids.  These are foul, evil people at CNN. They are supposed to be journalists and they are preaching hatred against kids.
Back to the wandering off bit.  If there was a group of native Americans demonstrating or protesting or just doing something interesting wouldn’t you want to watch? Maybe you might wander off too, to see what was going on? That was the whole wish and desire of the Native Americans.  They wanted that attention. So why were the boys at fault for wanting to check it out? It was interesting. How did they know what would happen next?
But it’s so easy in this culture to pin the blame on the innocent.  And even feel good about it because you are taking up for the “poor oppressed minority.”   But not the poor, oppressed white families faltering in this climate less and less which Bernie recognized. Austerity.
It’s not good judgment, or just, to do that but that’s what happens again and again.
This time it happened to a group of teenage Catholic boys. Who I think behaved admirably.
Who targeted them?  The minorities that everyone is so quick to embrace even if they are in the wrong. Even if they are railroading an innocent person or persons. Or a whole country.
I will embrace them too when they realize I’m not the enemy.  I pray for them because I have more in common with them than what divides us if they only knew that we have a common enemy. As long as we are divided the problems will become worse.  Our enemies would fall in a nanosecond if we all united.
It’s CNN’s job to make sure we don’t. That’s their real mission, and their real job. Not reporting the news. That’s what they get paid for. Hit pieces against kids. Not reporting the news. Not reporting what actually happened.
No, this time they came after our kids.  They’ve been after them for quite some time. Along with mom and dad.  But Mom and Dad are hopefully both fully awake by now and can see what’s going on.
It’s a whole new ball game when they come for your kids.

If they had taken one tinth of that energy and focused it half as much to saving mountains and streams...the land, God’s creation, over which we were to be “responsible stewards” not irresponsible psychopaths...as they do to an idea that is so wispy and unclear, “it depends on what is is”...we would still have mountains in WV.
But no, Hell no. They destroyed your LAND people!!
You were comfortable on your couch watching CNN. Your heart went out to a phenomenon a passing fancy the flavor of the month.  Were the mountains too white for you?  They were raping your mother “to keep the lights on” by destroying the fundamental composition of America...Dirt. Your own little fiefdom where you sit, pompous and pussy-hatted on your throne and rule with an iron fist and a divine pussy hat with a clear mandate: Maintain by illogic ucharade-save the Wispies!
That’s right. you have waged war for 30 years for your right to rule in your happy little universe utopian fantasy where you are, not just worshipped and adored but correctly, perfectly.
That’s what  got you going? Spinning like a top that had run out of gas wobbling like a drunken Mexican?
That’s right. “Stop ignoring me or I become a raving mindful lunatic on a yoga mat with a bottle of spring water by my side.”
And I am infinitely mindful of your every infinitesimally small screwup and transgression.
Damn right.
Who knows? What you’re on about. Only you.
But it’s got you going you up off your ass out in the street raving like a fucking lunatic.
Have at it, motherfucker,  have at it. We’ve already had our way with your mother so have at it!
****
I wouldn’t say this if it wasn’t important.
Granted there are a lot of people upset about the election. It’s apparent that the democratic party though, has gone too far w their rhetoric. All this about Civil War, impeachment, and every other extreme Kathy Griffin type of nastiness, isn’t that what it is? You tell me? What is it?
Trump’s approval numbers for July according to Gallup, are higher than LBJ, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and the same as Clinton. Depressing isn’t it?  But keep swimming.  Keep up the good fight. But be careful about unintended consequences.
There are people that actually voted for Trump. It’s not a crime. They were exercising their rights. Now you want to bash them. I understand. I’ve lived through Nixon and Bush and LBJ.  Mistakes were clearly made and lives were sacrificed.  At this point we have not reached that level of atrocity. Perhaps we should all remember sticks and stones may break my bones.
There is good evidence that LBJ had Kennedy killed. He was in on it. Lone gunman ... I don’t think so. The Warren report was fraud a massive fabrication.
I’m saying this so that you can see and acknowledge that there is a Behind the scenes network. They carried off that coup . And they carried off 911.  They got Americans to believe a lie. Aided and abetted by the mainstream media.
Do you want to know the truth? You’re not going to get it by being outraged at everything that the mainstream media reports as fact. There is a truth community it is neither Republican nor Democrat. It is both.
I don’t know why Trump won. But Hillary was part of the reason. Number one the way she treated Bernie...Number two Hillary herself.  This whole thing of winning at all costs doubling down, Russian collusion, you need to investigate how that all started. It was a campaign hatched on day one. Opposition research that went too far just like everything that Hillary does.
You have to recognize that even when you protest the other side has a right to their point of you. You have to try to meet in the middle. I was an activist for 20 years before all this happened. One of the things that most of us realized was you can’t let anger take over your life.  You can be angry but use it in a constructive way! Our model was Gandhi civil disobedience discourse.
Also you need to look at George Soros from the other side. What they really want is a police state. They want to stifle dissent.  Which is ironic. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t call people racist who simply disagree on the way to proceed. The kind of solution on immigration etc.  I don’t care if you have the pope on your side calling people out as racists for wanting to enforce immigration laws that already exist that have existed for years in every country. Why would such a radical agenda as open borders be promoted?  Is that not a dangerous idea? Just open the borders to everyone? It would be nice if we lived in that kind of world. But there are bad guys and we don’t live in that kind of world.
There is so much wrong with the liberal agenda right now. It is diametrically opposed to historical liberalism. You hurt your cause w some  of the tactics that are used to promote your cause.
You need to break away from all of that because number one where is it coming from? Consider the source. The mainstream media which is controlled by the CIA. It is heavily regulated by the CIA. If you would do your research you would find out that Gloria Steinem worked with the CIA.  So did Nancy Pelosi. Gloria Steinem by her own account in an interview went into great detail about those days. They funded Ms. magazine. Do you think that she was the only one? Do you think that practice has stopped?
Go to Ted talks on YouTube and watch the video of the reporter who defected from the mainstream media and is now a whistleblower. It is amazing how devious they are and have become.

Also look up Maria Kennedy Shriver on Krista Tippet’s “On Being” talk show on NPR.   She talks about some of the mistakes that folks on the left have made. She talks about her faith. It’s a very good interview. She has written a book.
Sorry for any typos, and lack of syntax. I’m typing with my thumb on my phone. 😗
It’s interesting how Hillary and her supporters. And many politicians.  Oh hell the worm turns. Which is exactly what Hillary Clinton is, a worm.  For at least half a century detente has been seen as a good thing by most politicians and Americans. But now, when it is advantageous to the Democrats to save face, they set up a new boogie man. Guess who it is Russia!Traditionally, it has been the Democrats who were prone to not take a hard line on Russia.  But now and at election time sadly we’re supposed to pay Russians! It’s our patriotic duty to hate Russians ... and lovee the cia!!! WTF.  But Hillary says... oh is it Hillary? Oh yes it is. It’s Hillary. Hillary says, and of course she is very objective here. She just lost the election but no matter. She can still remain objective about all of this. She wouldn’t be blaming the Russians to excuse her own failure would she? That would just be too coincidental too convenient.  Take her word for it. You’re w her.  The embattled and bitter Hillary Clinton. Thats a ship I definitely don’t want to go down with.  I never was on that bandwagon. And I am not now.

Electronic voting in the US is a huge problem.
#1. Both parties have hacked voting computers.  The DNC is famous or infamous for Voter fraud.
#2. They bus people to several locations to vote.   Remember the irregularities in Arizona during the primary? These people kNo there is a pot of gold at the end of anrainbow. Do you think a little thing like fraud is going to stop them?

And ripping it out from under you in front of your televised eyes.
But what threw you into overdrive, What woke you up and ripped the golden pacifier from your mouth ... wasn’t the destruction of the land, the beautiful forests streams and woodlands. No, hell no.
it was your own private ultra specific war ... and you exploded! In your laziness and intellectual dishonesty, you have elevated the smallest vexation and irritation to an Absolute.

Hi Kathy, I'm sorry I upset you. We can agree to disagree? I'm sure there's a lot we agree on.
Number one we are in deep do. But we just know it now but i guess we always have been.
They tried to kill us once already in the 60s, but somehow we fought back and we won. I wish we could have that kind of unity today. I think there's a way but we need to make certain tweaks. Remember it was all about civil disobedience and Henry David Thoreau.  Mahatma Gandhi.  Martin Luther King. Bob Dylan. And I believe that kind of a movement is still possible.  But they've taken away the music from young people and left them with Taylor Swift.
Back then we felt that women had our backs. That's not true today. The feminist counter movement became obsessed with attacking men and advancing some strange agenda, apart from liberating women. It became part of the divide and conquer strategy.
Every movement, is prone to a counter movement.  The countermovement is in many of these movements.  They take the energy from the movement and use it for their own devices and political purposes.  To garner support>votes>power not for the people but for themselves, those at the top of the countermovement within these movements.
There I go again.  But doesn't that make sense Kathy?  It really doesn't matter if we agree even on this. That is just one example of how we can agree to disagree and still survive. This has happened even in the church.  In every movement. Every movement that becomes a household word is fair game and a prime target to be overtaken and used and taken in a direction that it was not intended for. Sometimes the very opposite of that direction. This is true in the case of the church. The goal is to capture the heart. The closer it gets to the heart the more damage is done. If they can’t get to the heart from the inside they will destroy it from the outside as in the case of environmental assaults on our mountains and water.
One of the tweaks I mentioned was allowing God to inform our decisions.  We have to do this first in ourselves.  We have to forgive for one thing. Remember we had Martin Luther King, a minister, a preacher a church person. Yes we do have to be careful. That’s why I say it begins in our own hearts.
*******
I really don’t mean to preach. I just think it’s important that we allow God at least allow people who have that in their make up to exist if that is their dream to have it as a part of their solution.
Some people feel this is an outmoded form of expression.  It certainly can be abused and a means of control which is what God does not want. To me the Lords prayer is the perfect expression of God and also Psalm 23.   But there are many more. These are just two of the ones that have had a major impact on me.
But I recognize that even in myself there is a war going on.  So sometimes I have to step back and re-center.  When everything is working properly within and everything is in balance that is the only time I really have anything to offer.  It’s really easy to fall off the wagon though.  Trial and error.  It’s not easy to get there.
This morning I woke up and everything was fine. Then I thought of some injury or slight and immediately my happiness was gone.   Because my focus became anger.  Yes, I do have a lot to be angry about but I can’t focus on it. And I have to forgive from my heart if I want to be happy, is what I realized.  So i’m working on it. Lol.  OK?   Hopefully I’ll change. Become more mellow, lol. Bear w me ok?  It’s important to me to get along with people care about. I understand if you need a break from this deeply flawed person. I know I’m a handful. I try to shield people from my neuroses and unpleasantness, but sometimes it gets the better of me.  I’ve always been kind of an agitator at heart.  But I will always try to make it right.  Right now I think that people just need a break from all of my drama.   That’s the message I’m giving this morning.
Have a good day Kathy. I hope we can agree on more than just a little.
Here is the song that meant so much to me.  TY.

Supporting Man Utd is like having a tortoise as a pet - Pilkington v Lawro at predictions
Supporting Manchester United at the moment is “like having a tortoise as a pet,” according to comedian, TV presenter and Red Devils fan Karl Pilkington.
Pilkington, who takes on BBC Sport’s football expert Mark Lawrenson in predicting this week’s Premier League fixtures, was a boyhood Manchester City fan but switched sides to United in the 1990s.
“A bit of me now wishes I could change again, because City are good, aren’t they?” Pilkington explained.
“But you can’t, can you? I realise that now as I get older – that it is about being loyal, isn’t it?
Media playback is not supported on this device
“Still, I feel like supporting United is like having a tortoise as a pet. I had a tortoise, and they are not entertaining to watch. You don’t watch them, but you know you have got a bit of responsibility to show some interest.
“That is what I do with United. I keep an eye on them.
“I don’t watch them every game because, at the minute, that is a waste of 90 minutes. I just look at the result and if they win it is a bonus, I have no expectations any more.”

<!–
West Ham v Man Utd (12:30 BST)
The situation at Manchester United is turning into a soap opera.
Paul Pogba’s relationship with Jose Mourinho is not just in doubt, it is developing in front of our eyes[1] – which is an absolutely ridiculous situation when you think of the size of that club.
It would appear that one of the two has got to give, and it is probably easier to sell a player than it is to get rid of a manager.
What complicates matters is that Pogba could and should be United’s best player, and I would love to know the part that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has played in all of this.
<!–
It would appear he has sniffed the possibility of a better deal at Barcelona and is thinking “let’s get him out of Manchester United” which is the kind of scenario that I actually hate about football now.
Whoever is behind it all, it looks like Pogba no longer wants to play for United and in the end the player will always get his way.
It is a case of what does Mourinho do with him between now and 1 January?
I would suggest that he tells him to stay and play and give 100% until the transfer window opens and if he does that, he can leave.
It is a difficult situation for Mourinho and some of his behaviour has not helped him – at the moment it reminds me a lot of his acrimonious third year at Real, which obviously did not end well for him. [2]
But the situation is still salvageable. I hate the term that a manager has “lost the dressing room” because generally they don’t lose the entire squad, they only lose the players who are not playing.
They just become a nuisance, because they sense a manager could be on his way out and, because a change could benefit them, they are the ones who are whispering to the press.
<!–
It is those disaffected players that are a problem, and there are plenty of them at United that definitely do not fall into that category, who will still be playing for Mourinho.
That is why I think they will go to West Ham and win.
The Hammers have had a good week, with their point against Chelsea and then thumping Macclesfield 8-0.
But if I was in that United dressing room after everything that has gone on this week, I would be thinking now “let’s just go and win this game and show people what we are about”.
West Ham will come at them too which, with the way United like to play, is perfect for them.
Lawro’s prediction: 0-2
Karl’s prediction: (sighs) It is going to be another draw isn’t it? 1-1
Karl on Jose Mourinho and his playing style: I am sure he has got a plan – he has got to have a plan, he has won a lot of stuff.
He got annoyed, didn’t he, about not getting respect, and he does deserve respect – but I just want to watch a good game.
That is all I want, even if we lose – just an entertaining game. At the moment it is just not entertaining but is that how he operates? Is that important to him, or does he just want the three points?
<!–
Arsenal v Watford
Arsenal have now won six games in a row in all competitions – OK, they have not beaten any big-hitters but you can only beat what is put in front of you, and they are doing that which is the most important thing.
I am sure new Arsenal boss Unai Emery will be asked about the comments by Hornets’ striker Troy Deeney last season that the Gunners’ lacked the “cojones” for a fight after his side had beaten them.[3]
Media playback is not supported on this device
I don’t actually think much has changed about Arsenal under Emery – they are a good side, but they were a good side under Arsene Wenger, just not one of the best three teams in the country.
As well as their good results, I like the look of Lucas Torreira in midfield, so there is lots to be encouraged about.
I think they will beat Watford and make it seven in a row, but it will be interesting when they come up against the big teams – like Liverpool on 3 November for example.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Karl’s prediction: Watford are doing all right aren’t they. I am going to play it safe and go for another 1-1.
<!–
Everton v Fulham
As we saw again with the chances they missed against Arsenal,[4] Everton are still missing a finisher.
That defeat at the Emirates Stadium means the Toffees have won only one of their first six league games, but they have actually not been playing that badly and I think they will put that right here.
<!–
Fulham are a funny side – they were poor defensively in the first half of their draw against Watford,[5] but they came back well and almost nicked the win when Aleksandar Mitrovic headed against the bar.
I just wonder if the Cottagers have a bit of a frailty when teams go at them – they try to play good football and I would applaud for them that, but they are also a little bit open.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Karl’s prediction: 1-0
<!–
Huddersfield v Tottenham
Huddersfield are yet to win in the league this season and are bottom of the table after their defeat by Leicester,[6] and it is hard to see things improving for them this weekend.
<!–
Spurs were very impressive when they won here last season,[7] and I think we will see the same outcome this time.
It is very difficult to talk about Huddersfield without being critical because, although they are organised and competitive, they don’t really look like scoring goals.
There is nothing wrong with the Terriers’ application, it just comes down to a lack of quality.
Lawro’s prediction: 0-2
Karl’s prediction: Tottenham will win that won’t they? 1-3
<!–
Man City v Brighton
Brighton were a bit unlucky to lose to Tottenham last weekend[8] – I have talked before about how good they are at fighting back in games but it is not a positive that they seem to have to go behind before you see a reaction.
It is Manchester City they are playing this week, though, so I think we can forgive them if they do ship a goal or two.
I was with Seagulls boss Chris Hughton, an old Republic of Ireland team-mate of mine, in Dublin on Monday.
He is very pragmatic and his approach is to treat every single Premier League game like it’s a cup final because every point they get could end up being the one that keeps them up.
Chris told me he does not let his players get too excited when they win, or too down when they lose – and I cannot see him or his team dwelling too much on this result if they do get beaten.
Lawro’s prediction: 3-0
Karl’s prediction: No doubt about it, another City win. It is just a case of how many numbers and how high shall we go? 4-1
<!–
Newcastle v Leicester
Newcastle got a draw at Crystal Palace[9] last weekend, but I will never know how Mamadou Sakho missed an easy chance to win it for the Eagles late on.
Rafa Benitez’s side need to find a way to start winning games, though, and I cannot see that happening on Saturday.
With the pace that Leicester have got in their attack, I can see them going to St James’ Park and winning.
There is a lot of goodwill towards Benitez from the Newcastle fans, but he has got start getting some points.
At the moment, there is still an awful lot of noise coming from supporters about Mike Ashley and how he needs to spend more money on players, but they should park that until the transfer window opens in January.
Lawro’s prediction: 0-2
Karl’s prediction: 0-2
<!–
Wolves v Southampton
I thought Wolves’ performance last time out in their draw with Manchester United[10] was excellent.
They carried a real threat from the first minute and they just looked like a team that is very much at home in the Premier League.
Media playback is not supported on this device
Before this week, I had only predicted one win for Wolves this season in their first six matches, but I must admit I had not really watched that much of them before that game at Old Trafford, which is why I thought they would struggle.
Mea culpa, because actually they look a really well-balanced side and I would not be surprised if one or two of the bigger teams are already looking at some of their players and thinking “crikey, they are making this look easy”.
At the same time as Wolves were looking so impressive against United, Southampton were having a very different afternoon at Anfield – and, after conceding three first-half goals, their game against Liverpool[11] was done and dusted by half-time.
Media playback is not supported on this device
I think Saints will have another difficult day at Molineux. I like the way Wolves play through their midfield and Nuno Espirito Santo has got a good mix of skill and industry in his team.
By now, they themselves will know they belong in the top flight.
Of course every promoted side will say before the season starts that they fancy themselves, but you don’t know for sure until you start – and I cannot remember another team to come out of the Championship and look so comfortable, so early.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Karl’s prediction: 1-0
<!–
Chelsea v Liverpool (17:30 BST)
I don’t think Chelsea’s win at Anfield in the Carabao Cup[12] will have any bearing on this game – there will not be too many players from either side who started on Wednesday night that will also start on Saturday evening.
<!–
Maurizio Sarri has done a great job after taking charge of Chelsea over the summer but, even with home advantage, he will know the threat that Liverpool carry.
I am going to go for a draw here, and that would be a good result for both teams.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-1
Karl’s prediction: This is a good one. It is annoying to say it but I reckon Liverpool will do it. 1-2
SUNDAY
<!–
Cardiff v Burnley (16:00 BST)
Burnley picked up their first Premier League win[13] last weekend, although Bournemouth had the better of the early play.
I have been reading what Clarets boss Sean Dyche said about their preparations for that game, after his side had made such a poor start to the season, and he and his players had sat down in the week and had a big chat about everything.
I can imagine Dyche doing that, and it worked.
Cardiff, in contrast, were on the wrong end of a drubbing by Manchester City[14] and they are still without a win.
Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has got so much experience that I bet he has barely mentioned that defeat since. They will definitely be competitive in this game, although Burnley will cope with the physical side of their game.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-1
Karl’s prediction: Burnley got a good result against Bournemouth last week, so I’m going with them again. 1-3
MONDAY
<!–
Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (20:00 BST)
It will be interesting to see how Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe reacts to his side’s defeat by Burnley,[15] and whether he changes anything or just puts it down to a bad day after their strong start to the season.
Crystal Palace picked up a decent win at The Hawthorns against West Brom in the Carabao Cup[16] on Tuesday but this is a much harder task for them.
Whenever they are at home, Bournemouth always seem to create a lot of chances, regardless of the opposition, so I am backing them here.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-1
Karl’s prediction: 1-1
How did Lawro do last week?
Lawro got four correct results, including two perfect scores, from 10 matches for a total of 100 points.
He beat Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, who got five correct results, with one exact score, for a total of 80 points.[17]
Total scores after week 6 Lawro 430 Guests 460

New York City: Great Kills to Manhattan Day 1
With only a day to spare to prepare for our trip to the Today Show, we pulled into Great Kills Marina on Staten Island ready for a whirlwind week.   The marina had room for all but one boat; so Moon Shadow opted to stay on a mooring ball in the harbor.  The mooring balls are managed by a neighboring yacht club, includes  a Tender on call for rides to shore, and the daily fee only $30- we were quite happy with the choice.  The local members at both yacht clubs was appreciated.   The hospitality extended by John C. as AGLCA harbor host made the stay more enjoyable.  He even arranged to give our group a ride to the train station the following morning.
Day one New York City
The commuter train ride was just over an hour and dropped us off  at the Staten Island Ferry.  The train ticket is $3.95 and the ferry is FREE- great start to our travel day. Bonus – the ferry goes right by the Statue of Liberty and skyline so we were all pretty excited! Our group includes Sanctuary (Steve and Teresa) from Michigan; Enterprise (Kurt and Patty) from Detroit, Southern Cross ( Pat and Cathy) from Oklahoma and us , Moon Shadow from Minnesota- so no east coast or NYC folks here. We arrived in Manhattan early; and found this early morning traveling builds an appetite-  our group  split between a New York Deli and a Food Truck for a quick early lunch stop . It was a nice surprise to find how walkable the city is for us “first timers”.   Next we will explore the Financial district, visit Wall street and  see the charging Bull sculpture.
Federal Hall National Monument – Birthplace of American Government.
THE CHARGING BULL SCULPTURE
The bull sculpture was so popular it was difficult to get a good picture. It represents the symbol of Financial power,  yet we noticed the  most popular photo was from behind-   We learned it brings good fortune to rub his bronze cojones.  Each is the size of a small soccer ball.  .
This seemed most popular with visitors from South America and Asian but everyone was looking for a chance for good luck.
FREEDOM TOWER AND GROUND ZERO MEMORIALS
We continued toward the Freedom Tower and  to see the 9/11 memorial ponds.
The Freedom Tower is the rebuilt World Trade Center. It is the tallest building the western Hemisphere.
The two reflecting pools with water falls dropping into the centers  are on the footprints of the two buildings.  The names of those who lost their lives are inscribed on the granite surrounding the pools.   The names of each person are arranged in a “meaningful algorithm”  based on relationships, proximity at the time of the attacks. as quoted from the executive director of the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund:     “a loved ones name is surrounded by the names of those they sat with, those they worked with, those they lived with and very possibly, those they died with”.
 xxx
MORE STREET EATING
Both Kurt and Patty then Pat and Cathy opted for a street dog with all the fixings!
Exploring continued, as we walked toward Battery Park to get a glimpse of the statue from that angle. The Battery Park features a large globe  The Sphere, that had been displayed near the world trade center and had been damaged.  It was recovered from the rubble, and is  now is a memorial and installed at Battery Park. It is displayed with out any repairs honoring the victims of 9/11.       It is a popular tourist attraction as it survived the terrorist attacks with only dents and holes.
The statue honoring all soldiers is impressive too.
We wondered toward the Sea Glass Carousel and looked at the natural gardens- the next garden everyone was interested in stopping at was the Beer Garden. We regrouped and felt very happy with the day’s sightseeing.  It was already 4 o’clock and time to board the ferry, the train and then a 1.5 mile walk back to the marina so we could catch a tender ride out to Moon Shadow on the mooring ball. and later I had a time to draw a collage map of our time in NYC:
The group had plans for dinner near the marina with several other loopers that had arrived at Great Kills.  Plus we needed to finalize plans for doing this same trip at 4:30 in the morning to get in line at the Today Show on Rockefeller Plaza.
LOOPER DINNER AT COLES RESTAURANT IN GREAT KILLS
We had also made plans to meet several boaters at Coles Restaurant in Great Kills. Great Kills Marina is a favorite spot for loopers.  tonight we reunited with 22 other boaters for dinner.
Kudos to the restaurant for serving a fine meal, and keeping us all in order.    So many looper stories flying around it was a great night.  In a way , it feels like a reunion of the outer dock from the Fall AGLCA Rendezvous.   By chance several of those present met either in Chicago, or were on the same dock at the Rendezvous.   Sanctuary, Last Call, Songlines,  Moon Shadow, plus Southern Cross, Lower Place, Aquafennatic and  Enterprise, I know I’m missing a few more.
After dinner, the owner of the restaurant mentioned he had overheard us talking about arranging an early morning  ride to the city for the Today Show- he gave us the number of a friend who has a 10 passenger van for hire.  This worked out perfectly and we arranged for him to meet us in the morning and take us right to Rockefeller Plaza .

In Absence of Leadership...the Ugly American Returns
In the wake of the U.S. Administration's "Awesome" Policies of Diplomacy...by all standards, Donald J Trump would have to rank as the biggest Political Whore in the United States' 241 years of Existence!...yes, a true whore who sold out his own Country and the World, for the right Price!
The man who says; "Put America First", has just managed to put America dead last!! The United States has become the only Country in this World...aside from Nicaragua and Syria...to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords! where for the 1st time in the History of mankind! every Nation on the face of this Earth 'all' agreed to work together and bond for one Common Cause...the survival of this Earth, and in particularly the survival of Humankind!!!
In Nicaragua's case, they're not really against the accord...they just think it doesn't go far enough! Syria? At this moment, their concern isn't what happens environmentally down the road...they just want to be able to get there, alive! Those two have sort of a half-ass excuse not to participate at this particular time.
So! America becomes the only Nation that truly wants to leave the Climate Accords...and the reason for withdrawing is by far, the most criminal act, any Country could ever do to their people!!! Hitler's Germany may have exterminated a portion of its population. Trump's America, will Pollute our entire Nation right into extinction!!
While the rest of the world...including Putin and Kim Jung Un!...signed-on, start to resolve their disputes and work together for one common goal...the United States, is institutionally regressing into a very dangerous Isolationist mentality! It didn't work in the 30s, and certainly with Trump's chaotic Amateur White House... is not going to work at all, especially in today's electronic age of communications.
"The very Essence of Leadership is that you have to have Vision. You can't blow an uncertain trumpet" ~~~ Fr. Theodore Hesburgh, CSC
A President without a vision is doomed to catastrophically fail. The problem is, our President's only Vision in his 70 years of life is how much Money he and his Family can take before they gotta run!!...whether he Resigns, gets Impeached, or gets Arrested. And then, you wonder why the Trump presidency has been such a miserable failure from the get-go?!?!
Alfred E Newman is more a Visionary than Trump could ever be!...and he doesn't even worry! "American Leadership" once meant something around the world...Honor, Respect, and Trust. The Freedom, where anyone could come and achieve their dreams!...our leadership is what made the American Dream. "America! what a Country!" meant something very positive at one time. Our Leadership as a Nation was America's greatest strength!
In Trump's Vision of pacifying and endearing our natural enemy, while selling out our Allies the same way he's selling out our Democracy...for Trump, it's always about the almighty Dollar!
Don the Con's "awesome" gift to the United States of America for electing him President?...a tiny middle finger, flipping off an entire Nation and the World while saluting everyone with a big "Bronx Cheer"!
America still doesn't get it!! It's not about making America Great or putting America First. It's about a big "F*ck You, America"! Selling out a Nation to Russia's influence! All, for a ton of laundered-up dirty Russian Money!
Now, we've lost the trust of our allies...actually, the trust of an entire world! American Diplomacy under Donald Trump has reverted back to its Imperialistic bully ways, with the reemergence of the world's most despised human being...the Ugly American is back!!
A host of world leaders...actually, every Ally and all our Enemies around the World, all working together to save this planet...Criticized and Shamed our President for such an enormously ignorant and stupid Decision. Interesting!
Now, you have your educationally deficient morons who believe Trump is the second coming of Christ. And then you have the filth and immorality of rich & educated political slickers who just don't have the slightest care, and really don't give a sh*t what our legacy holds to our future generations! And finally, you have the vast majority of this Country and certainly, the vast majority of the World who see Donald Trump's departure from Modern Civilization as a huge profit making sellout to the most polluting, heartless and immoral Industrialists in the United States...Koch Industries among others...the very same ones who have paid out close to $Billions$ in Court Settlements, Wrongful Deaths Verdicts, Record Fines by the EPA!
What do you see? The ever increasing Pollution of our skies, the deadly chemical infestation of our waters, from our Rivers and Streams to our Aqueducts! It's the destruction of our Forests, our Wildlife, the end of what "natural" Food supposed to be...and the beginning of America's craze for Gourmet Soylent Green! Sold to you by Monsanto...maker of Herbicides, luscious GMOs, and AstroTurf!
Our Country, if not the world...is under attack by Super Rich Industrialists who don't give a sh*t if the Earth disintegrates or not!...as long they can take it all with them before they die! Yes!! The degenerate sick mind of Trump and his Billionaire Club! And they'll continue doing it more and more, cause We, the People are allowing it to continue!!!
The Family Trump are true examples of human waste...true life degenerates who would even steal all the charitable $$$ going for Kids with Cancer through all their numerous Fake Trump Charities, just like Donald did with the Vets!! Yes! the total indecency and shameless immorality of our 1st Family will never seize...that's what the live for!!
"Leadership is an opportunity to Serve. It is not a call to self-importance" ~~~ J. Donald Walters
Making yourself look important, and posing as President, just makes you look even more the asshole everyone already knows you are, Donny Boy! What's your luck? The GOP are all true Spineless Cowards with no Cojones to tell you to take a hike! Their greed and your stupidity will be the Fall of Republicans in 2018, and of your Kingdom...even sooner!!
Planet Earth is currently inhabited by 7.5 Billion People!!...Yes! 7.5 Billion People who would all love to know that their Children and their Children's Children are going to simply be able to live and breathe fresh 21% Oxygen, rather than use a Mask &Tank until that's not enough and die! Is all about the ability to survive on this Earth!!
And out of all those Billions...you have around 300 people...yes, that's right, 300+ totally immoral human beings in this World who calls themselves Republicans, 300 sick minds who don't care or give a damn what happens to anyone ...as long as they can obtain all the material wealth humanly possible. Greedy Low Life Billionaires prefer to stuff their mattresses with every single dollar and every penny they can scrounge...they probably think when they die, they can pay off God to stick around...rather than go directly to Hell.
American Leadership around the world is currently taking a 'forced' sabbatical. The Art of Trump Diplomacy has alienated all our Allies. And for the first time...at least in my lifetime...our Allies are publicly declaring; the United States cannot be trusted!! In Foreign Affairs, Leaders around the World are learning how to respond to this pompous ass...including Mocking, like the Leaders of Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland, mocking Trump's Orb. picture. His use of bully Politics to get things his way, Chastising our Allies and Appeasing our natural Enemy is getting nowhere!....except receiving the mistrust of both sides! And his Batshit spectacles at every stop, is an embarrassment and an insult to the very fabric of American Leadership!
Our Leaderless American Diplomacy is on a very narrow dangerous road. While our greatness as a nation hits the rock bottom of the political gutter...Trumpism has brought back our Nation's Worst Political Diplomat from the dead...the Ugly American!
Umm? really makes sense!! Donald Trump, more than anyone alive is truly in every way, shape, and form...your quintessential, Ugly American!

Something about travel—planes, trains, and automobiles—plus ships, leaves us scratching our heads over the 2007 album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank? Makes us wonder: Was American indie rock band Modest Mouse trying to tell us something about the open water? With the lyrics, “Was it ever worth it? Was there all that much to gain? Well, we knew we missed the boat. And we’d already missed the plane.” Should you buy travel insurance for the cruise…etc? Despite its name, Modest Mouse’s “Missed the Boat,” is a surprisingly optimistic song about life’s little mishaps, and the happy irony to it all, even on vacation. Despite its title, life is an adventure, so here’s to adventure time! Here’s to having the Cojones to venture from home in the first place! And even if your vacation turns into another National Lampoon’s vacation, before you decide whether a cruise might be for you, here is a list of 15 things the cruise lines don’t readily tell us, good or bad, to know if it’s worth it to set sail.
#1 Pirate Attacks Still Exist According to the Reader’s Digest poll on cruise lines, major cruise lines train their employees against pirate attacks. Somali pirate ships, boat people, those exist. In 2008, more than 130 merchant ships were attacked by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden, an increase of more than 200 percent from the previous year, according to the International Maritime Bureau. Makes us wonder, do they train passengers as well on how to prepare for a pirate attack? Sounds like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean. With a full-on cannonball propulsion certificate for the first matey to climb the flagpole? Ok, that might be something to incorporate in a cabaret theme for the entertainers on board if not the ship passengers, themselves. Oceania’s Rubacky says that the opportunity for piracy remains low and that more training is provided for passengers and crew than at airports, to reduce the threat of attack.
#2 Everything Costs Money Desert costs. Liquor costs. Cork unscrewing costs. Debauchery costs and so does insomnia. So which is the worst? Separating from the internet, for the 21st century addicts. Is there a freeing affect for those who spend not only their vacations at sea, but also their vocations? And there may be no need to sport extravagances of internet with so much to see and do. A break from technology. A break from real life, if such a thing can occur. Though most passengers aren’t allowed to bring on their own liquor, and are forced to buy it at extravagant prices, a plus to this is that if a bottle is not finished, cruise waiters mark it with your room number and save it for another night. But who doesn’t finish the bottle? Let’s be honest. For the cruise line, this limits debauchery and the number of messes to clean up by the morning.
#3 Travelers Really Do Feel They Are Voyaging The long wave goodbye at the dock is a bonus for the sentimental sort who feel a sense like an immigrant embarking to a new land, like maybe their ancestors must have felt, and the subtle sweetness in missing home and family intertwined with new adventure. And ships have come a long way from the coming to America days. If anyone has seen Brooklyn, based on the Colm Tóibín novel, the main character, played by Saoirse Ronan, must share a bathroom with a neighboring cabin while they spend all night sick and vomiting from the food, the seasickness or both. Guess the only difference is the epic goodbye at the ports, and this alone maybe something to get a person on board; a new chance, a shattering of a dimension.
#4 Murder on the Sea Expatriate law grows a bit murky. It can go for the criminal, as in the circumstance in which one seeks insolvency from a crime by venturing to a tropical island. In Neil Gaiman’s Anasi Boys, the main character’s boss settles in St. Andrews after swindling his investors’ money into offshore accounts. But don’t worry, he gets his. Real life stories exist, murder mysteries of the high sea, inking it further in the Bermuda Triangle flood of mystery. Natalie Woods, the American actress of West Side Story mysteriously drowned while on a yacht with her husband, actor Robert Wagner in the Pacific Ocean off Catalina Island. Though she was not on a cruise ship, her death still remains a mystery today. What goes to sea, stays at sea.
#5 U.S. Labor Laws Need Not Apply This leads into the insinuation of the wavering labor laws on the open sea. An illegal might work on a cruise ship and be treated poorly or underpaid, many report. According to some, the crew, including those undervalued workers hail from impoverished countries and board cruise lines as cooks, engines cleaner, maids, and the like. Developing nations such as the Philippines, Indonesia and Honduras, are regions that might make up part of the population of cruise ship personnel. According to William Terry, a Clemson University professor who studies the industry, workers can earn as little as $1,000 a month working 10-to-14-hour days, while at sea for stretches of up to a year. Cruise ships may pay more than what some workers might earn at home, but the havoc it wreaks on their bodies and spirits can be somewhat tremendous if true. An offset to these standards, advocates are pushing the Maritime Labor Convention’s new referendum to cruise line ethics, including: a set number of hours a seafarer can work per week not exceeding 91 and a standard to accommodations, which Douglas Stevenson, director of the Center for Seafarers’ Rights is in favor of.
#6 Choosing The Right Cabin Is A Hard Shell To Crack Why? Because there are all kinds of noises, backlash from the waves, fumes, or noise from the entertainment. Choosing the right cabin is important if you want to wake up rested. There are four types of cabins that are separate from cabin locations. Consider both location and type when choosing a cabin. First off, the four different cabin types include: as standard inside, ocean view, balconied, or suite. An inside cabin on a cruise ship does not have a porthole, window, or balcony is called the standard inside and is usually the cheapest option, also known as the inside stateroom. Some say that the veranda cabins are largely overrated, but this is a personal preference. They can range from 25 percent more to double the price of a standard inside cabin.
#7 Cabin Location As for location, lower deck cabins are privy to engine and motion noise as well as the casting of the anchor as few times per day. They are also further from the common areas. Higher deck accommodations offer sun roofs and are closer to the pools but they are pricier and seasickness is more intense at the higher levels. Midship cabins come with the main thoroughfare, close to amenities but there will be lots of passersby in the hallway. That being said, you are close to the entertainment and the food. Then there are aft cabins and bow cabins. Aft, the front, for the sailor at heart, who wants the wind in their hair and the salt in their eyes. The bow, or rear, offers a panoramic, but sometimes the privacy of these are lacking. The upper deck can look down into the cabins.
#8 Pollution Those affiliated with the aft cabins might witness the sludge produced by the ship which it tracks through the water. The wave of pollution a medium-sized ship leaves behind is 210,000 gallons of blackwater — enough fill about 10 backyard swimming pools, according to a recent study sponsored by non-profit advocacy group, Friends of the Earth. Blackwater is the toilet flushing contaminates which includes: ammonia, copper, zinc, which aren’t treated properly—they “don’t measure up,” says author Ross Klein who conducted a study on pollution produced by these vessels. If following requirements, ships are supposed to treat all blackwater and discharge it at least four miles from shore. Yet, this unfortunately isn’t inspected to the degree that restaurant cleanliness might be inspected.
#9 Profit Loss vs Profit Gain Reports indicate that cruise lines don’t report too drastic a number of lost sales after a catastrophe at sea. Are consumers of cruise lines more loyal than other ventures? Major catastrophes that don’t lower the cruise line’s business have some wrinkling their eyebrows…did all those Somali pirates make landlubbers afraid to sail? It seems with the right deals and the right advertising, adventurers dare to venture onto cruise lines; despite past injury. Does this work as a positive for mankind or tell us that we are all just scavengers, looking for a good deal, with no pause for putting ourselves in danger? Seems that for one thing, cruise lines have not shown dramatic losses with economic or security declines…perhaps the same for planes. When it comes to travel, we simply have to take our chances and we are brave for doing it.
#10 Planning Your Own Shored Events Feel like you’re bound in a tight itinerary and want more breathing room from your cruise experience? Some experts suggest instead of booking on-shore event all-inclusively with the liner, which might have you running from place to place, you should plan and pay individually for your own entertainment on-shore. The all-inclusive deals the liners offer usually jack up prices, rather than save you money. But one good thing about the boxed deal is if the events you booked with the liner lasts a bit longer, the ship won’t leave without you. However, if you book them yourself, beware the boat will not wait. Show up with your flip-flops, the wind in your hair, slide in the gate with your sun bonnet behind you, but don’t miss the boat.
#11 Customize Your Cruise Profile, Up Your Potential Have an entertainer or a theme cruise in mind and the myriad of options available to the public is practically limitless. To name a few: there’s the Cougar cruise, Startrekker cruise, Dancing with the Stars: At Sea, including competitive dance-offs, Top Chef on Celebrity Cruises, and Disney Princess Cruises to name a few. The Queen Mary II brings the first planetarium aboard a cruise ship in a ginormous luxury cruise liner. Or for a smaller, more in-tune voyeur, the 700-passenger Azamara, prides itself on defying the beaten path, and finding exotic hideaways, permitting its passengers to stay at destinations of their own choosing with late-night and overnight stays at ports for landlubbers not accustomed to the sea. There is even a Cougar Cruise, making us wonder if it’s a cruise or a dating profile, or both?
#12 Never Are You Alone If you don’t like close talkers, consider your bubble being invaded all the time. Beware of your personal belongings and your body, as well. Sexual assault runs high on cruises, as in the general merriment, people become gaudy. People go ‘overboard’ both literally and figuratively. Or you may just want to push them overboard. Robberies don’t generally happen on the large-scale, yet in 2012, there was 22 incidents of passengers robbed at gunpoint while returning from an excursion in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. So what you want when traveling is to have fun but beware, carry a stick, a paddle or just stick with a buddy if you want to be safe and prevent anything from happening.
#13 Sea Sickness Sea sickness occurs when motion detected by the inner ear, which controls balance, is different from the motion you visualize. Pregnant women and children are the most susceptible to sea sickness. Staring at a single point can be an aid to sea sickness, but how does one do this when the ocean is constantly rocking the ship? Rumi said, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” How’s that for sea sickness? Maybe Yoga on a boat is like earning a black belt in karate. And finding your chakra is like, epic. To conquer the sea might be a channel to stream on YouTube, but you can be like Kate and Leonardo on the bow of the ship, that’s impressive.
#14 Traveler’s Insurance When Buying Your Ticket Cruise insurance, which is generally 4 to 10 percent of the trip cost, is valued by some and discarded by others. Insurance plans cover things like baggage protection, cancellation, medical expenses, and emergency evacuation. Besides buying insurance from the cruise line, there are a number of independent companies who offer oftentimes better rates. One thing USA travel says to consider is that any insurance will cover medical insurance in the place of the incident. For example, if you have any predisposed illnesses, and you’re on a South American cruise, you will be taken care of in South America for treatment. Uncanny adventurers might seek “extreme sports coverage” which can be worth the investment for the deep sea fishermen as well as the bungee jumper, or as Haraty, an expert in the field says “That’s especially true for the Great White shark cage diving in South Africa and Australia.”
#15 Just As There Is Hope For The Hopeless, There Is The Cruise For The Non-Cruiser Whether you vie to experience Alaska’s inner-passage, explore the newly opened Cuba, island hop the Greek Isles, contest with the Dancing with the Stars (on Sea) elites, there are low-key and dramatic cruises to fit your personality. Like seeing a bear in Yellowstone Park, winking at a stranger, or finding the golden ticket, if you look for magic you just might find it. Or it may come to you unexpectedly, no matter what your cruise profile says. What does yours say about you? Are you seeking love, adventure, mystique, a well-spring to become immortal? Dream on. And hope on. And never stop living with the turns of the tide; there may be something miraculous, past all the shutter shock that goes with the pros and cons. Feel it out, there is more if you just keep on going…whatever your destination.

Resign, Impeached, Go to Jail, or what’s behind Door 4
The Trump Administration has been officially in a state of chaos since, Jan. 20th, 2017!...and the hits just keep on coming!
When the final 3 alternatives for Donald Trump are option 1) Resign 2) Get Impeached 3) Go Directly to Jail...The Trumpster will go for what's behind Door 4! A coup of our Democracy! In the case of Impeachment? Scene 1 Act 1: Declare Marshall Law, and suspend all elections (cause they are all rigged!) Then shut the "American Free Press", cause they're just Fake News and the enemy of Donald Trump...thus, the enemy of the State...and the enemy of the American People!
A Coup? Yes! more and more serious academics and politicos...including Yale University History Professor Timothy Snyder...are coming up with the same conclusion! If push comes to shove...in lieu of being Exposed or Impeached, a thin-skinned Donald Trump, in all his Trump fashion will attempt a "Putsch"! Most likely with the assistance of his 'Beer Hall' buddy Steve Bannon, coordinating things. But, like his Presidency...they 'all' expect he'll fail miserably!
Trump's assault on the 1st Amendment. Trump and Bannon's intention of removing piece by piece the 1st Amendment from American History: Freedom of the Press, and the Freedom of Speech & Expression...and he's already doing it!...by alienating our Free Press both literally, and alienating it from the Public. A systematic policy of False Information and blaming the "Fake News"...making it that more and more people everyday question's the Press!
Trumpism's deep hostility on the Press is not something new. As a child, he would not tolerate being criticized or mocked. As an Adult, Money Lawyers and lots of Money silenced his critics and his accusers. And now as King Pussy Grabber with absolute Power? Wanting to tear apart US Libel Laws to intimidate the press, cutting the press off, thoughts of eliminating Press Briefings,  and forbidding coverage of Presidential Meetings inside the White House with Russian Ministers and Ambassadors...who are usually not supposed to be there, cause they're also infamously, Foreign Intelligence Officers!
Lesson One in "Politics 101 for Dummies"; It's not nice or politically wise to ever alienate your own Press, not when they can come back to haunt you some day with a swift kick of criminal exposure on your Prussian-Scottish arse! Oh, Donny!...Karma sure is a  Bitch!
So! A White House meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, every Trump Administrators' best friend, the widely popular Russian Ambassador Sergei Kyslyak, and King Donald excluded the American Press...but the Orange Puppet, invited the Russian Press to join in the talks! Only hours after firing Jim Comey for investigating Him and Putin! WTF?? What an insulting slap in the Face to all Americans by Donald Trump!! A President who favors America's longtime natural enemy, its Leader, and its 'State' Press, over his own Country?...anyway you cut it...Trump's a F**cking Traitor!!
And what did Trump and McMaster show the Russians? Deeply word coded, "Classified" intelligence information to the Russians at the Oval Office. Official WH horseshit tale? First Trump & McMaster denied it, then a couple of days later, they both admitted it. Interesting! Then, you wonder why the American Press was kept out?!?! McMaster says it was perfectly correct to show the Russians the info. NO!!!! you don't show your longtime adversary or anyone else, the United States' most deeply held Secret Intelligence Information...it's called TREASON!...Julius & Ethel Rosenberg were guilty cause they sold Secrets. Trump & McMasters...they sold an entire Nation out! And despicable sold out the "Source of the Info", and the town where his cover is deeply infiltrated!! No lethal injection for the Trumpster...a "Gold" Electric Chair, with the ghosts of Julius and Ethel witnessing the end of a True Traitor!
Of course, next step for the Glory of Fascism is canceling Free Elections...it's hard to have Free Elections when everyone hates your guts! And now he's trying to convince his Kool-Aid Minions that Elections cause wide-spread fraud and crime...so it would be better just to eliminate them, altogether! And if that doesn't work? Burn the Americans' "Reichstag"...'that' psychology worked for Germany!
How ironic that comedians all joked about 2016 being "Our Last Election" and the end of Democracy! Trumpism's continuous public attacks on Judges who don't agree with his views? Yes! they too are very seriously real! And his ideas of reforming the Judicial System to conform to and execute the Trumpster's Policies and Orders...or else? Echoes of those days, 1945-1949 Nuremberg, and its hangings!...especially the Judiciary ones.
The Trumpster's lack of humor and his disdain for Comics...cause they hurt the poor baby's little feelings is more than obvious. Prosecute Comedians? For exercising their constitutional right of Free Speech & Expression to critically make lewd jokes?...while hypocritically making his own embarrassing, and now historically lewd comments all his life, along with all his despicable actions to probably everyone in this Country, and don't forget his disrespectful manners towards Vets...and really...towards everyone else! And never ever! forget his repulsive acts of mocking disabled people!
The problem? This thin-skinned narcissist is a 70yrs. old spoiled cry baby, who has temper tantrums if anyone, ever dares to make fun of him or criticize him!       Donny! Donny! Donny! Hey, listen bubeleh! Grow up, learn a little, put up with it, shut up, and just live Life before your Blood Pressure kills ya!...you sure do like sh*t! Listen, Don! Don't tell anyone...being criticized by the entire world, goes with the job!...it's that part of politics where a man's real character shows who's a real leader, and who's just a real wannabee! So, you wanted to be President??...surprise!!!
And the Republican Party? An absolutely successful Castration procedure by Trump and his Goons...almost unanimously partisan, they all march to beat of Trumpism with the complete lack of "Cojones" to stand, pull up their pants, zip them, and tell Trump their bromance is over...and it's time recover their Party and the dignity of their Souls! Every single one of these spineless cowards, refuse to attend their respective community's continually angrier and rowdier Town Hall Meetings, cause they're screwing America for the Big Money, behind Door number 4!...and not a single one, is Macho enough to tell it to their faces!! Like their Grand Supreme Coward...sink America 1st and grab what you can, before you're out too! Big Shame! on the American Public to permit all of this! These "Civil Servants" are all degenerates that know exactly what would happen if that Air of Authoritarian Living settles down over this Nation...yet, they don't give a f**k!
Trump, Russia, Flynn, & Cover-ups "You can’t put in the fix by removing somebody"! John Dean knows a little bit about Scandals, Cover-ups, and Prison...18 months' worth! Take his word, America...he knows better about Presidential Politics and the Law than most other people around; “The firing raised so many questions. How can you conclude anything but that Trump knows he’s got problems? … Every move they make keeps signaling ‘coverup’...if they think they can influence the Russian investigation by removing Comey, they are naïve. I learned from my own experience that you can’t put in the fix by removing somebody.”
A Trump/Russia Investigation that every time someone opens his or her mouth, another Trump associate is connected to this whole mess. It's amazing how popular the Russian Ambassador is!...and how many people connected with The Family Trump, the Trump Corp, the Trump Campaign, the Trump Administration and all its Cabinet, Trump Business Associates, and even personal friends, knows this guy! Coincidence? Coincidences? when it's not just the Ambassador, but Russian Mobsters, Russian Bankers, Russian Business Developers, other assorted Ministers and other Russian Government Officials...including their ever present Russian "Attaches" (AKA) - Intel Agents. Every one of these Russians has had more than a casual personal contact or connections with about almost everyone ever connected to Donald Trump!...in one way or another! That's one giant "Awesome" load of trash to convict for Treason!
So many Treasonous Acts by so many Trumpsters...using a new Scandal to Cover-up an older one, is just not going to work...it'll just be another addendum to the heap of insane actions. So, it all goes back to the Trump/Russian Investigation!...and you got to start with the star attraction...Michael Flynn, and his refusal to talk or deliver his documents unless he gets a plea bargain. No problem, Mike! A Congressional subpoena for the Documents has been issued, and another one for you to testify! This tale of unraveling events is becoming quite interesting...add James Comey into this mix and expect fireworks!  He's testifying again, and this time in "Closed Hearing"...certainly, classified info is going to be passed around! Sooner or later, the scandal is going to erupt like a Volcano and burn a lot of Republicans...even more, than it already has...in Capital Hill! Comey? he's demanding one final Testimony...in Public, in front of the Senate Committee.
In today's world, people don't need to read much to see what is happening, nothing is truer than natural human emotions...and body language doesn't lie! TV screens don’t lie!! The Truth is right in front of you, and you just can't hide from it, anymore!! All of Trump's own Conflicts of Interests are a mere speck, compared to this Criminal Act of Conflict of Interest: A President under criminal investigation, firing the Man who is Investigating him and the Russians? Then a Criminal Act of Treason...inviting the Russian Officials to the WH, kicking the American Press out, and showing the Russkies ultra-sensitive Classified Info??? No imbecilic horseshit tale of how Comey hurt his poor friend, Crooked Hillary, with that fake email scandal...days before the Election, and no tales of how Legal is the treasonous act of showing Highly Sensitive US Intelligence to a Foreign Government that's not even one of our Allies!...but, our Adversaries!!!
You can't hide the cover-up of Russian assistance and interference in his narrow win, anymore! Confirmed evidence suggests the Russian Government 'was' actively involved in helping Trump by a massive systematic plan of discrediting Clinton, and other types of hackings directly affecting the Election...also, the amount of Rouble Invested on their Puppet, circulated via Slush Funds and the final Money Laundering involving Trump, Russian Bankers, Putin, and Deutsche Bank in Germany! And, are still actively Involved in destabilizing our American Democracy, throughout the Country!
Changing his own story from Sessions' Recommendation...which would be considered a criminal act for violating his recusal...to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's Advice to fire Comey. Now, that Rosenstein threatened to resign if accused of that Lie, Trump recanted that tale and changed his story all together...again! Now? he was going to eventually fire Comey, regardless of anyone's recommendation!...really? Strong Warnings from Barack Obama, when Obama and Trump met at the White House following the Elections. And from Sally Yates, when she brought him all her evidence to the White House...18 days before Trump fired Flynn.
Donald Trump has in his own ingenious way, managed to trap himself in a web where there's really no way out! What you see is a man desperately trying to hide his actions, his connections, and his timeline, from being exposed for being the person America and the rest of the World already know he really is; A little man-child who's Vladimir Putin's Puppet!
"You can’t put in the fix by removing somebody"! The Trumpster's fatal flaw?...firing people right and left like the Apprentice, all to cover up his lifelong unbelievable knack for corruption! Stupid is as Stupid Does...and the more he screws up, the louder the call for a treasonous Cover-up! But in the end, it all comes down to the Prosecution and Impeachment processes. If the GOP and the DOJ get their way, and cowardly let it all just fade away? Then, my friends...it's time to learn the virtues of Fascism and White Nationalism...and seriously become informed of its consequences!
Dear America! Avoid that "Fabulously Awesome" Kool-Aid, our President and his "Beer Hall Putsch" pals are feverishly trying to push the public to swallow!...keep away from the Trump horseshit and its addiction to that Taste of Ignorance! But most important of all...really! more important than anything else!...please! stay away from their revolting and sick Prussian Nazi world of"Schadenfreude"!! Schadenfreude; "The Pleasure or Self-satisfaction derived from the misfortunes or failures of others", and "Delighting in other people's Misfortunes", is costing this Nation irreparable damage of disrespect from the World, that will not be repaired till way after we're all gone from this Earth...yet, not too many in this Country ever think about it and/or its implications!
Americans! We're precisely at the pinnacle of the darkest moment in the 241 years of our extremely fragile Democracy! Resist and Never Surrender to Trumpism's wave of ignorance!...or accept living an Authoritarian Lifestyle!
Just remember! We, the People are stronger than any major Autocrat or two-bit Dictator could ever be!...if this Nation turns towards Fascism, it's because 'we' allowed it to happen! The fate of this shallow little worm, but, way much more important...the fate of our Nation...is in our hands!!
