No Shave November (FTM)

Hello ! 

Ça fait super longtemps que je n’ai rien posté ici (d’ailleurs je ferai sûrement un post d’update prochainement). Comme l’année précédente, j’ai fait le No Shave November ce mois-ci. Ça m’a permit de constater que ma pilosité avait (bel et bien) évolué depuis l’année dernière (je me rase toujours au moins une partie du visage et donc, ne me rends pas vraiment compte de l’évolution du truc !). Je mets donc un comparatif (avec différents angles) des 4 semaines du No Shave November 2019,

et un comparatif No Shave November 2018/2019 pour bien se rendre compte de l’évolution de ma pilosité faciale en 1 an.

Comme on peut voir, ça a bougé (+ de poils, notamment sur les joues, la pilosité qui fonce et qui pousse plus rapidement qu’avant), mais c’est clairement pas fifou (surtout quand on sait je serai à 5 ans sous T en février prochain).😁 Mes poils ne sont pas franchement pressés de pointer le bout de leur nez. Après, je me rase en traditionnel maintenant (j’aime bien ce petit rituel) et j’ai l’impression que ça m’a aidé à faire la paix avec le fait de ne pas avoir la barbe dont je rêve ou que je m’étais imaginé avoir à ce stade de ma transition. Ah, et puis je voie que ça continue de se développer tranquillou donc même si j’aimerai beaucoup avoir plus de barbe, bah, ça m’embête moins qu’avant.

I shaved! Since I actually have a decent amount of face hair coming in, I decided to do my first No Shave November. Here's what things looked like immediately before and after shaving. I'm excited to see what it'll look like in a month.

For a long time I refused to shave my facial hair because I felt that my face wasn’t masculine enough on its own to pass. I felt like I would loose so much of myself without it. So it was affirming yesterday when I caught a glance of myself in the mirror and I didn’t hate myself. I didn’t hate my face. I saw a glimpse of my dad in my own face. I saw a glance of my heritage in my features. I saw the things I had hid away because of my own self uncomfort. And it’s a beautiful thing that I can see the changes now and love myself through that.

Aka. I shaved my face and I don’t hate myself.

Oh yea. Here are my No Shave November results.

Nothing exciting or significant. Pretty much what I expected. I’m just really happy to have hair on my face again. Anything rocks considering less than two years ago I couldn’t grow more than a dirt ‘stache.

(I shaved the neck beard for thanksgiving so that I didn’t look absolutely ridiculous)

My mom is mad at me because I didn’t shave or trim my beard before I started no shave November. I’m not cutting it until December and it’s going to drive me nuts but I’m taking this to be an opportunity to practice some endurance and patience on an emotional and mental level. So here is the starting point. Also enjoy my early voting photo because I failed at getting a beard photo to begin with!

No shave November progress in the 4 years I’ve been on testosterone (featuring my back hair)

Its harder to notice in the picture, but there was a huge change between years 3 and 4. I had a lot more growth on the sides of my face and my cheeks, and my moustache which made me feel a lot more comfortable keeping my facial hair. I’m still not super interested in growing or keeping a beard (it’s so itchy!) but I feel like I’d feel more comfortable with it now that it’s not as patchy and grows in a little further. I’m still waiting for my moustache to grow in more, and for my beard and moustache to connect. One day!

I never posted a progress pic for No Shave November cause I've been sick and on graveyard shifts so idek what day its been. So here's day 1 of Nov. vs now. I trimmed up a little today but I might keep going to see just how far we can take this thing.

Also 4 sleeps until top surgery.

Two weeks into no shave November and 8 months on T. My voice still sounds the same in conversation but I have patchy scruffles as a consolation prize, I guess. This pic was from a 2am bought of insomnia, blease excuse the eyelash sticking out of my nose 😆

It is officially the last day of the month so, here are the results of my first ever No Shave November!

What did I learn? Shaving sucks! Lol I feel so much better now that I've got a bit of hair on my face again. I just hope it doesn't take another five months for it to grow back to the way it was before. And if it does grow back faster, I'll probably just stick to trimming for now. Anyway, that's about it. Expect more selfies maybe, now that my confidence is coming back lol
