#@ veins in particular shout out for the hamburger comment. i'm obsessed with it 😂#“held gentle like hamburger /threat” is maybe my favourite thing now#definitely this was a 'oh it's so beautiful but also dangerous' vibe i was aiming for there. like galacta knight himself!#no shade on anyone who did not pick up on that vibe though. it was purposefully innocuous and requires prior-knowledge of the au!#just assume that (in my AUs) galacta knight is always up to something that is probably not nice#at the very least he will always be self-serving.#replies#delete later#probably. might not we'll see. gotta clear that tag soon.

pairing(s): cairo sweet x fem!reader
warning(s): stalker cairo, mentions cairo watching reader through their window, smoking, mention of reader’s mom passing away, mentions of reader having a ‘toned stomach’, minor detailed sexual content(nothing too major though).
summary: you become cairo’s newest work.
❝ sadderdays, why do they keep on using me? ❞
────────✬────────
cairo sweet didn’t believe in mistakes.
she believed there just was and there just wasn’t, and well, if you really wanted to, you could change the entirety of that was or wasn’t.
cairo also didn’t believe in much of a right or wrong, mankind was and would continue to be the most horrific thing to earth so it really all depended on what the domino effects of the things you did that made those things so ‘wrong’
or right.
in this case, watching through your window almost every night since the start of this summer wasn’t right or wrong nor was it her fault—it had to yours. what logical person, who knowingly had a window that mirrored the house right across the street wouldn’t put curtains up?
if you asked her, it was an invitation.
you prompted her, to watch you as she held a lit cigarette between her lips on most nights, letting the smoke fill her lungs and her mind full with thoughts of you.
you were tempting, all more in the ways she thought miller was. she was far more intrigued with you than she ever could be miller.
of course she wanted you, she wanted you more than anything—how could she not be (to her dismay) enflamed with you? shamelessly letting her hand slip into her pants as she watched you. again, it wasn’t her fault, it was merely yours for inviting her.
entertaining her.
though you’d never spoken, never even made eye contact with the girl she had made it clear to herself and somehow to you that you, indeed, knew all the things you were doing.
and though she felt this way, though she wanted you—her need to write you was far more important than any of that lustful bullshit.
she couldn’t just sit and stare at you forever, she needed to figure you out and figure you out fast before summer was over, though it was just mid-june. she needed something to wow yale.
her college essay needed to be perfect and you were just the target, because well, you just show up in the house that’s gone untouched for as long as she’s been trapped in her lonesome that her parents left her to all alone in this tennesse mansion.
she had a reasoning for being here, she knew her reason for being here, but what was your excuse? cause one thing is for damn sure, you were way too good looking and way too young to be up here all alone.
so cairo set out, being as bold as she’s ever been—especially after the whole miller thing, here she was standing at your door, cocky shades cover her eyes and a cigarette firm between her lips as she knocks.
she didn’t miss the red pick up that sat in your driveway, such a texas cliche, she thought.
hearing the wooden door creak as it opens, she fixes her posture, pushing her shoulders forward as she stood up straight.
“uh, hey?” you question, wiping the dirt from your hands on a faded blue rag.
the girl took a second, taking in the attire of your flared fitting jeans—they were worn out in a handy way, navy blue. she also took note to your light blue top that slightly came up, showing the edge of your, what seemed to be toned stomach.
pop’s. the shirt read in a bold fading yellow font with little things around it.
tempting but she had a mission.
“i’m cairo, i, uh, wanted to introduce myself—i live,” she pauses, pointing to the broad house placed a felid away.
“you live there? i didn’t think anyone lived there. creeps me out, the whole old victorian vibe, no offense. but, i’m y/n—i would shake your hand but uh.” you flash your hands that were scuffed with dirt.
“none taken, it’s actually quite comforting—i didn’t think anyone lived here, i mean it’s been empty for years.”
“yeah, uh, my mom recently passed and this is what she left behind…” you shrug, flapping you arms in lazy manner and let them fall back to your sides with a flat slap.
“mhm,” cairo takes a drag from the malboro.
“i’m sorry to hear that. are you fixing the place up?”
“trying to, thinking about turning it into a summer home, you know?” she didn’t miss the way your eyes flicker back and forth from the cigarette back to her face.
“you want?” she holds the stick towards you.
“if you don’t mind,” you reach up but fail to grasp the cigarette as the girl pushes her hand forward, placing it between your lips herself.
though you couldn’t tell because of the dark shades, she eyes your lips and watches closely as your purse them, taking a long drag before she retracts her fingers.
“thank you—do, uh, you wanna come in for a drink?”
“tomorrow, yeah? gotta a lot of work to do.”
“oh, work? you in high school?” she could see the slight grimace on your face at the thought of her being in high school.
“graduated. i’m in the process of apply for college. yale.”
“oh, hotshot, huh? i go to nyu, transfer from ucla—my second year.“
noted.
“but, good luck with everything, i’ll be here all summer so if you need any pointers let me know. i’m just a field away.”
also noted.
“mhm, i’ll definitely let you know.”
✬
exactly four days had passed since the encounter between you and cairo, and if she had to completely be truthful with herself, she was bored.
all she’d done was write and quickly delete the drafts she had made of you, walk to get coffee, and encounter small talk with a few distant friends from school whom seemed to be on big vacations with their closer friends.
she’d never say out loud, and she so reluctantly thought but she kind of missed winnie, in a strange way. who else to make her scandalous and yet superior at the same time?
after the whole miller thing, winnie had made it clear to stay far, far away from cairo, which of course the sweet girl didn’t take much offense to—she’d feel the same way if she were in her shoes, but she’d never so naively fall into a web like winnie had done.
with nothing better to do, and piles of shitty drafts, today would be the day she finally took up you on your offer. she needed new material for her paper anyways.
so here she was once again at your door, book-bag close on her back, dark shorts hugging her thighs with dark shades that cupped her face to match, and to top it off a white tank-top that read tennesse in fine blue print.
“finally showed up, i was afraid i scared you off.” the girl flinches, slightly, when you appear from the side of the house.
immediately she takes notices to the jean short-shorts that you occupied, along with the dirt stained, white baseball cap that took over your head of curls, brown cowgirl boots, and to top it off a plain black tank.
“i’ve been busy. told you i had a lot of work to do.”
“yeah, days worth, huh?” you tease, stepping to the house’s door, opening it and stepping aside for cairo.
“every time i see you, you got these shades on. you don’t like people looking you in your eyes or something?”
“i have my reasons.” she shrugs, letting a playful manner roll over her.
“you got magic eyes? anyone who stares into them falls in love?” you point at the girl again, this time causing her to bite back a smile, that you definitely don’t miss.
as she follows you, she can’t help but notice just how much your house resembles the aura of her’s—if not even more erie, the vacancy was very lit and yet a classic touch of old money overwhelmed the place. you had to be as loaded as she was with a house like this, and in tennesse—trust, she didn’t miss how much land you occupied.
“if you don’t mind me asking, what’d your mom do for a living?”
“ah, real estate and my dad is a lawyer—though, i don’t talk much with him.”
“huh, my parents are lawyers too and we don’t talk much either.”
you bite your lip, nodding in some form of understanding? agreement?
“make yourself at home,” you gesture to the velvet love seat.
cairo pauses for a minute, thinking, she had already made herself too at home—she was already losing sight of why she were here, she wasn’t here for your good looks and alluring aura—nor your flirty jokes.
you weren’t some seduction mission that she was going to trick herself into thinking you wanted her the way she did you, no. you weren’t going to be another mr.miller. she had learned from her mistakes.
you were her college essay and nothing more.
“i’m not a big drinker, so, pretty much all i have is some cherry wine and a little bit of gin.”
you watch at the sweet girl grimaces, “gin?”
“i know, my mom had poor taste, but i’ll take that as wine for our drink of the evening, i’ll be right back.”
why were you so tempting? how could one be so open yet she still knew nothing about you. she’d been here all of twenty minutes all she could get out of you was that your mom was a real estate agent and your dad is a lawy—
that’s it.
“here you go.” you hand her a half filled glass, fingers grazing over her skin before taking a seat across from her in the matching recliner.
“so, you’re dad is a lawyer? what’s his name? just curious if he works at the same firm as my parents.”
“y/d/n y/l/n. i doubt it, my dad owns his own firm and is very hard to work with.”
“hm, yeah never heard of him.” cairo made note to google your father later to lead her to connects with you,
and that’s exactly what she did.
after your drink, an excused rolled off her tongue to go home—she had more work to do, that you so cluelessly wished her good luck on.
one things for sure, you were right, you dad was hard man to work with. he seemed to be a lawyer who’d only worked on high profile cases in his career, how that was even possible? who knows.
he’d also been married three times, your mom being the second wife and you being his second kid.
his latest wife was way younger then him, as usual, she was maybe even your age. they had a son together, just two years old. it must be weird having an older sister in her late forties, while you’re in your earlier twenties, with a younger brother who is just two years old.
all while your dad is pushing sixty-five or so cairo read on the internet—she doesn’t exactly remember his age because she got bored and started surfing your name on google. to her surprise she’d found quite a lot on you.
a soccer star in high school, riding a scholarship for it too. not only that, but you’d been on the swim team in high school too.
you’d taken piano lessons as a kid, and noting the only social media you had was instagram, which to her trouble was private.
ugh, frustration was a minor feeling that creeped over cairo’s body. all she found was cliche background info. on you, no hard hitting stuff. no legal troubles, no mentions of some sort of addiction, no scandals.
there had to be more to you—there was, she could feel it. there was a story to you and she so ever needed it if she was going to wow yale. she had her miller story but something bigger assuredly awaited her blank google doc.
taking a slow, extended drag from her cigarette, the girl reluctantly closed the macbook. she now, once again, had a view of your unfolded window. though, you weren’t occupying it at the moment she waited in setback and anticipation as your truck had pulled into the driveway not too long ago. you’d entered the house with a woman she’d never seen before, maybe your half-sister.
if it were, it would be nice to put a face to the name considering google didn’t hold any pictures of your older sister.
but cairo couldn’t be more wrong and there would be no putting any name to any face because she would watch and smoke as you came collapsing into your room’s open window with your tongue down the random woman’s throat.
cairo couldn’t help but be taken over by a hot-blooded resentment. you were her project her, her puzzle to figure out, not some girl’s sloppy one night. and yet; through her distasteful thoughts, the girl couldn’t break her eyes from the scene that unfolded in front of her.
lewd.
that was one word to describe everything going on just in these moments. cairo’s hand wandering in her pants, letting enclosed moans falling from her lips as her eyes trained on just how…experienced (?) you’d seemed to be by the way you had been touching this woman.
her eyes were like binoculars on their own, closely she looked as your tongue ran across the woman’s lips—it was sloppy but so enamoring. your hands eagerly everywhere and nowhere at the same time on the woman’s body as you take off her clothes with the haste, the woman doing the same to you.
with you just in your lace underwear, cairo could see a tattoo on your shoulder that couldn’t make out but definitely would find a way to ask you about eventually—but right now, all she wanted to do was be the woman you were so infatuated with in this moment. the way you were shamelessly in the middle of your room, on your knees with your head hungrily between her legs, eating her out with ease. the eye contact you kept drove her even more insane.
she had underestimated you.
you were more untamed than she thought. bolder than you led onto to be.
━━━ 👩🏽💻potentially more parts to come.

Hi! Im a new anon who stumble upon your work recently. (I love it btw!) Can I request this scenario for the obey me fandom?
Imagine the MC is (or was) married in the human realm. However the brothers realized that the MC’s spouse is VERY attractive (Like if the spouse was Gojo Satoru). How do you think they would react with the news?
A Bit Of Jealousy
Tags: Lucifer x Reader, Mammon x Reader, Leviathan x Reader, Satan x Reader, Asmodeus x Reader, Beelzebub x Reader, Belphegor x Reader, Jealousy, Humor, Lighthearted Fluff, Possessiveness, Insecurity, Self-Doubt, Teasing.
Warnings: Some possessive and teasing behavior, mild jealousy, occasional insecurity (mostly comedic), discussions about past relationships, lighthearted humor.
A/N: HELLO AND WELCOME! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS – I’M GLAD YOU’VE ENJOYED MY WORK! IT REALLY MEANS A LOT!! 🤭💖🫶
Lucifer stood with his arms crossed, his sharp gaze fixed on you, as if contemplating something rather than merely listening. It had been some time since you'd mentioned your past life in the human realm, but this new detail had caught his attention.
"I had no idea your ex-husband was… that handsome." Lucifer’s tone was neutral, but the slight narrowing of his eyes betrayed a flicker of something else.
You couldn’t help but chuckle. "It’s not like I married him for his looks," you said, trying to downplay it. "He had other qualities that mattered."
The eldest brother’s expression remained composed, though you could see the tension in his jaw. He was used to being the most capable, the most desired, and the thought that someone else—someone so undeniably attractive—had captured your heart before him stirred a slight discomfort within him.
"You’re saying I wouldn’t have stood a chance?" he asked, his voice dangerously smooth, though a subtle irritation lingered.
You smiled teasingly. "Lucifer, you’re far too full of yourself. Besides, you’re the one I’m with now, aren’t you?"
Lucifer’s gaze softened, and with a possessive gesture, he pulled you closer, his lips brushing your ear as he whispered, "You’re lucky I’m still allowing you to be with such an inferior man."
Mammon’s jaw dropped, his eyes nearly bugging out of his head. "Wait, wait, what? Your ex-husband was that good-looking?!" His face turned a deep shade of red as he paced frantically, tugging at his hair. "How the hell did someone like him end up with ya?!"
You rolled your eyes but couldn't suppress your amusement. "Mammon, it wasn't just about looks."
Mammon, the Avatar of Greed, shrank slightly, as if trying to come to terms with the idea that he might not measure up. "Well, The Great Mammon is way better than some human, right?" he muttered, but the lack of his usual bravado made it clear that he was internally battling his insecurities.
You walked over, resting a hand on his shoulder. "You know you're amazing in your own way, Mammon. It’s not about competing with anyone."
He grumbled under his breath, still clearly unsure of himself. "Yeah, yeah. Guess I’ll just have to show ya why I’m the better pick."
Leviathan froze, his eyes going wide in disbelief. "Wait, wait—that guy?!" His voice wavered, and his face flushed a deep shade of crimson as he processed the revelation. "You were married to him? That’s like… the ultimate level-up in real life! He must’ve been like some kind of rare, super rare character from a game or something!"
You blinked, surprised by his immediate reaction. "You know who he is?"
Leviathan fidgeted nervously, his excitement quickly mixed with insecurity. "O-of course I know him! He's everywhere, with that... unbeatable vibe, and he’s always so confident. I—I don’t think I could ever be like that..." He looked down, voice cracking slightly. "I mean... why would you marry someone like him when you could’ve had a shy, awkward guy who spends all his time gaming, not that I’d have had a chance or anything..."
You raised an eyebrow. "You think he’s that good-looking?"
Leviathan’s cheeks flushed deep red, his fingers fumbling awkwardly with his game controller as if it were a lifeline. "W-Well, yeah... I mean, how can I compete with that?" He mumbled, his voice laced with a mix of frustration and self-doubt. "He’s like... a living anime character, with that whole ‘cool, untouchable’ vibe... I’m just an otaku, surrounded by figurines and my games!" He sighed, slouching in his seat as his eyes dropped to the floor. "Guess I don’t stand a chance, huh?"
You chuckled and patted his head. "Levi, you have your own charm, don't worry."
He mumbled a soft "thanks," his cheeks still tinged pink, as he returned to his game, likely pondering his own appearance in a whole new light.
Satan raised an eyebrow at the news, his usually calm demeanor remaining composed as he closed his book. "I see," he mused, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. "It’s no surprise that someone of his appearance would catch your eye."
You tilted your head. "What does that mean?"
Satan leaned back in his chair, folding his arms behind his head. "It means that while his appearance may be striking, I’ve always known you to be a bit more discerning when it comes to your tastes." His smile was teasing, but there was something more beneath it.
"Jealous, Satan?" you teased.
He smirked, but his eyes flickered with an almost imperceptible hint of rivalry. "Jealousy implies that I feel threatened." His voice lowered, a bit darker. "But I do wonder if someone like him could match my charm… or my intellect."
You raised an eyebrow. "Planning to challenge him?"
Satan didn’t answer immediately, his smile growing more enigmatic. "Perhaps. It might be amusing to test whether he could truly hold a candle to someone like me."
The moment you mentioned your ex-husband, Asmodeus gasped dramatically, his hands flying to his face. "Oh my goodness, you were married to him?!" His eyes sparkled with a mix of excitement and fascination. "Tell me everything! His skincare routine, his hair—how is he so perfect?!" He practically swooned, his voice rising in pitch with every word.
You chuckled, a bit amused by his over-the-top reaction. "I think it's just natural for him." you said, trying to deflect the question.
Asmodeus’s eyes grew wider. "You’re telling me he’s that perfect without even trying?! Oh my, I’m in love with him already!" He threw his head back, letting out a dramatic sigh.
You rolled your eyes, laughing. "You can't just fall for someone based on their looks, Asmo."
He flashed you a playful grin. "Well, darling, you’ve clearly got exquisite taste. But between you and me, I’m still the real star here, aren’t I?"
You laughed again, shaking your head. "You never change."
Beel stared at you for a long moment, clearly trying to process the information. "So… he really was that good-looking?" Beel asked, his voice calm, though there was a note of genuine curiosity in it.
You nodded. "Yeah, he was."
Beel scratched his head thoughtfully. "Well, if you’re with me now, then I guess he must not have been perfect for you." He said it so simply, almost like a statement of fact.
"Exactly," you said, smiling warmly at him. "There’s more to someone than just looks."
Beel smiled back, his expression content. "I’m glad you feel that way."
Belphie barely reacted when you mentioned your ex-husband. His voice remained lazy, but his smirk hinted at his amusement. "So, your ex was that attractive, huh?" He yawned, stretching casually. "Guess he doesn’t compare to me."
You raised an eyebrow. "Are you comparing yourself to a human?"
Belphegor’s smirk deepened. "I’m not comparing. Just stating the facts. But if he was that perfect, I’ve got my work cut out for me."
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help but laugh at his arrogance. "You never change, do you?"
Belphegor stretched out comfortably, flashing you a lazy grin. "Of course not. But in case you forgot, I’m the only one who matters to you now."

Pride Petty Watch (SOTUS) 1/5
The crowd picked two blacklisted shows for me to watch during Pride, which were Love in the Air and The Untamed, and so even though I finished the first, I've stalled on the second, and it's all because of the beast named SOTUS. I watched this show when it aired in 2016, but I don't remember any of it. All I remember is that I'm very mad at it, yet this was the wild card show that was unlocked during the voting, so instead of fearing this show so much that I cannot bring myself to finish The Untamed, I'm going straight to the big boss, and fighting this demon NOW!
It's me and the gear in a battle until the very end, and even though I cannot remember a single thing about this show, as soon as I pressed play, all the hate in my body rose to the surface, so I already know this is going to be a ~journey~
First and foremost, I'm going to give this show and Krist a compliment because I HATE Arthit, which is exactly what I should be doing in the first episode. He is The Worst🎶 and he leans all the way into it. He snarls. He yells. He forces a girl to give him her number through mere power dynamics and sexism, and this isn't just 2024-me thinking this. 2016-me knows that this character is written well because the worst thing Arthit can think of doing to another man is making him say he is gay.
Then to casually whisper in that man's ear that he could find him a skirt to wear . . .
Arthit really is the epitome of the homophobe-to-homo character and I can't believe that it worked in 2016 since I feel that was late for a character like this to still be a love interest, yet it's still working so well in 2024 because here I am, pissed, pressed, and ready to fuck him up for being the douchiest bro in this damn cafeteria. It's refreshing how much I'm allowed to hate him.
Because even the way he screams Kongpob's name with his student ID every fucking two seconds is setting me off.
And I'm very disappointed in BL Land for only ONE video existing of him screaming Kongpob's name, and it's only the times from the first half of the first episode. Thanks, OP, but we are slacking!
youtube
But, honestly, if I had a boy who looked up at me like this every time I screamed his name, I'd probably be a lot worse than Arthit. You know, instigating fights and hands on me or something like that.
And now I'm questioning this series because if these two would just choke each other out then kiss, I would be fully for it and enjoying all my snacks along the way. I'd be fine with Kongpob telling the entire room he would make Arthit his bitch, but Kongpob instead says he'll make Arthit his wife, and . . . the vibe is not as kinky as I need it to be to support all that is being thrown at me from these two.
Which is why I'm heavily shipping Kongpob with M! Kongpob got in trouble for having two books, one which was M's, and had to say he liked men. Now, they are drunk at this table with homophobe Arthit and the hazers are staring them down while Kongpob is just holding M's face.
But let me actually rewatch this show instead of reflecting on how GMMTV messed this enemies AND lovers premise up twice (looking at you, Dangerous Romance) because right now, this show is trying to make me believe the girls would not wave hello to a babyface Off.
Once again, back to the actual rewatch, and because I don't remember a thing about this, I don't know if Wad is good or bad, but him busting out this move when Prem told him to apologize was equivalent to an older white Southern Christian woman telling someone to have a blessed day, so I felt that shade through the screen!
And I'm not victim-blaming, but I do actually think Kongpob and Arthit are trying to push each buttons to see who will break first and fuck (up) the other one because this is not a sane answer to "why did you stay?" when the possibility of the hazers physically harming someone is extremely high.
I only see my Kongpob and M ship now because when Arthit asked if anyone knew M, Kongpob immediately stood up and knew his entire life story. I have known my best friends for decades, and I still could not recite half of that information. Kongpob, what are the heterosexual reasons for you know any of this information about M?
JAN!
Once again, Arthit is 🎶The Fucking Worst🎶 because instead of just taking his L, he made Kongpob say everyone's damn name, then ripped up May's name tag, only to scold Kongpob for giving her his, and now the kids are passing out from his ridiculous physical activities! As a member of a Greek-letter organization who was hazed because that was the culture of the time period, Arthit is being soooooo messy!
Hear me out - Kongpob and M would be so good together! Arthit is the antagonist. Kongpob is the protagonist who meets a sweet quiet boy on his first day of orientation. He helps the sweet quiet boy come out of his shell and watches over him. He cares for him. THEY FALL IN LOVE!
But instead I'm getting a love interest who nominated Kongpob because he knows he is cute, yet can't admit it because ~internalized homophobia~ Ryan from The OC would have never treated Seth this way, and they were in the early 2000s. What is your excuse, Arthit?! The show wants me to hate you, and for that, I'm thankful.
But I could never hate Minnie! Arthit came up quick like he was protecting the boys from Minnie being a predator, but Minnie would NEVER! I could never fear Minnie with the bisexual scarf? And now MDL is telling me the actor has only acted in one other series and that series is Deep Night. Gold star resume, and I truly mean that.
Look at them. LOOK AT THEM! Tell me they don't look good together. Tell me they wouldn't have wrecked every other ship. This is why I need GMMTV to let these MEN (no longer boys) kiss their homies. Kongpob x M. Singto x New. I ship it.
*punching walls and ripping doors off hinges* Kongpob gets kicked out the group and the FIRST one to stand up for him is the boy he loves (it's canon to me and IDGAF what the story's gotta say about it). Quiet and sweet M finds his voice just so he can ask to have Kongpob back. THEY ARE IN LOVE!
Arthit is wildin' out here trying to gaslight Kongpob with this bullshit of "if you keep helping out your friends, then they'll never stand on their own." Sir, you wanna fuck Kongpob so bad, you look stupid.
AND KONGPOB SAYS IT!
I cannot stress enough how kinky this is and could have been if 2016 BL Land was allowed to lean into this because Kongpob has already established through his actions that he likes showing up for the punishments, and here he says the quiet part very loudly - Arthit likes punishing him.
Taking a break from the kink to point out that GMMTV was always going to get My Love Mix-Up because in 2016, May's friend said that "In Japan, if you write down the name of your crush on an eraser and use it, that person will love you"
Then we have May asking for an eraser and keeping it just so she can write Kongpob's name on it. But who gets upset about it? M! Because he loves Kongpob and I'm not accepting that he likes May just like Atom realized he liked a boy instead of girl eight years later. M loves Kongpob. That is my truth!
And here comes the kink lite again! Kongpob could leave. He doesn't have to take this verbal abuse from Arthit. He doesn't have to eat that damn spicy ass plate of food. He doesn't have to finish it either because Arthit gets up and leaves, yet HE DOES! Because he likes this treatment. This makes sense if it's sadomasochism, and that will guide me through these next couple of episodes.
Because the decision to make Arthit the one who likes pink milk is a choice, and now I want an entire TED Talk on how Arthit is probably the most well done homophobic bully with internationalized homophobia falling in love with the boy he is bullying.
Because, joke's on him, the guy he falls for is into that kind of shit.
And all of this happens so we can end with Kongpob getting pink milk for himself after he finished an entire spicy meal that he didn't need to since he enjoys being punished should make me so happy, but the show is trying to lighten Arthit's behavior by having him pay for the bill (and get the freshmen food, and having been hazed himself, and blah blah blah) instead of just letting the toxicito be toxic and Kongpob being into it.
I never thought I'd write this, but I don't want Arthit to be tamed. I want him to be so much worse.
#pride petty watch#sotus#sotus the series#I could write an entire dissertation on these first three episodes#I'm very shocked that nothing is coming back to me though#as I'm watching it‚ I still remember none of it#I have no clue how this is going to go#but the rage is still very much in my body#yet somehow I'm appreciating everything about Arthit#except the show trying to make him seem good#just let a bad bitch be bad for goodness' sake!#Kongpob x M

List of bsd headcanons
Dazai:
Has bpd. A lot of his traits remind me of my friends with it
He some kind of trans. Nonbinary. Transfem. Transmasc. Idk he's megender lmao
He's described as appearing very youthful in the first two light novels. I imagine that once the events of the main timeline start picking up though, with all the time stopping or slowing abilities that *dont affect him*, he actually ages faster than the other characters. I draw current dazai with small wrinkles, which also hints at stress and stuff
Also, I imagine current dazai getting tanner as he works in the light, as well as getting more prominent freckles.
Round/doe eyes because that is part of his appearance in my opinion. Seeming unsuspecting and innocent, especially during his mafia days
Bad eyesight in his right eye from being under the bandages for so long. Saw this headcanon and loved it
Similarly, beastzai has bad vision in general
I always call No Longer Human an anti-ability in my head, fun fact
He loves to touch other people. Not a fan of being touched by others unless asked
I draw him with red eyes in color, and usually black eyes in ink (inconsistent artstyle my beloved)
Aroace spectrum
heavy sleeper. Very
Chuuya
FRECKLES and tan from sheep days
He likes to be close to other people more than actually touching. Presence over contact
That shade of eyes that changes colors in the light (but I use a grey base lol)
Also some sort of trans, but in a different way than dazai
Brownish red hair. Not blazing, not just brown
That man is AUTISTIC
One time instinctively kicked a friend with his ability active, expecting them to dodge cuz he's used to dazai easily dodging. They did, but they were SO CLOSE to getting hit. Imagine a confused face like wtf why you try to kick me
Light sleeper, but every now and then sleeps like he just learned how to close his eyes
A lot of his jokes go over people's heads because they expect him to be serious and his voice just doesn't change between serious and not serious
Ranpo
Autism plus adhd ftw
Aroace spectrum
Poe
He/they vibes
Anxiety
Gay af
I can 100% see him being into knitting. Imagine the guide plus ranpo all in matching sweaters
Loves baking. Sooooo bad at it
Lucy
Bi (with a lean towards girlies) she/it
VERY good at baking
But she won't share :(
Atsushi
Anxiety, so much anxiety
Aroace spectrum vibes
Very easily idolizes people and then gets surprised when they actually like being around him
Akutagawa
Aroace spectrum
Autism cuz he is so mecore sometimes
Very trans vibes from me
(I like to imagine him having tourettes cuz I have tourettes and I am Not projecting)
Atsushi (special kitty hearing) and jouno being the only ones who can hear some of his tics. He will be horrified that anyone notices them
Wait no actually I'm gonna incorporate that into my belief system. That's canon now
Mori
Genuinely cares about a lot of his workers, but not all of them
He gives great bonuses for birthdays
He absolutely loves vtubers if bsd were in a modern setting. Rip mori. He'd have also loved vocaloid lmao
Ozaki
Masc energy. Fem energy. Ooh I can see ozaki with any pronouns and identity
Kinda person to accidently either overpack or underpack. Always has painkillers, never has a pen
Ridiculous memory. Incredible gift giver. Would get someone something months or years after overhearing them say they wanted something once
"Whyd you get me a hairdryer?"
"You said you needed one. I saw it and thought of you."
"...that was months ago. I got a hairdryer already."
"..." *takes hairdryer back* "sorry wrong person. I don't have my contacts in my bad"
She has perfect vision
Kunikida
Trans vibes. In any and every direction
Adhd af
Will always conveniently have room in his schedule when Aya wants to go do something and needs someone to go with her. No, he's TOTALLY not frantically writing and erasing things, get your glasses updated
You can usually count on him to continue the bit cuz he won't realize there is a bit occurring

welcome to fanfic I won't write fridays, where I talk about fanfic I won't write
happy dragon age 4 to those who celebrate it's time to put all my "pevensie siblings isekai'd into dragon age pcs" thoughts in one post
peter is the inquisitor; i considered lucy for this but she's more what the inquisition wants you to appear to be (a divine prophet protecting the people) rather than what you actually are (the head of a military organization with fingers in politics and heavy religious propaganda
edmund is the champion of kirkwall; the entire point of da2 is that everything is in shades of grey and there are no right answers, and edmund is painted as the most familiar with moral ambiguity and the most forgiving of it
lucy is the grey warden originally through process of elimitation but being dropped in a dying world, told there's a near futile mission to hold back the decay that's eating the continent, and not only facing it whole heartedly but succeeding so well you have time to run off and try to cure it yourself with no backup is EXTREMELY lucy behavior
susan is "sir not appearing in this film (until dragon age 4 comes out)"
all four of them land around the same time. lucy gets wrapped up in the origins plot immediately, and da2 happens mostly simultaneously iirc so so is edmund. peter is biding time doing the qunari mercenary backstory until da:i starts. susan is also biding her time but by clawing her way up the local social hierarchy.
DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS
lucy is a mage with the spirit healer specialization, but based on her canon weapon use i think also has traces of the arcane warrior.
duncan literally finds her by the side of the road and goes "hey kid you wanna fight darkspawn." lucy asks if they're evil and he says yes so she signs up immediately. a simple woman.
she absolutely makes the full party her bisexual polycule. yes even the unromancable ones. i have faith in her.
morrigan: i'm straight lucy: for now.
leliana is her favorite but don't tell anyone.
lucy adores mabari. absolutely nothing in thedas is more narnian than the mabari. when she meets her siblings again they are all going to be so fucking jealous that she has one.
lucy doesn't make alistair king because he seems like he's kind of bad at it and i think she can sniff that out. my sister is of the opinion that lucy would make him king and then marry him bc she knows she would do a good job. i think she only said this because she finds it funny.
however i do think lucy would convince alistair to do the ritual because she sees absolutely nothing wrong with him having sex with a woman he hates who turns into a giant spider sometimes.
lucy, has attended dozens of bacchanalia: who hasn't slept with someone they dislike while under the effects of magic? all her companions: where did you say you were from again?
she does absolutely kill loghain though because a. all the shit he did is deserving of an execution, b. edmund isn't here to stop her, and c. alistair threatens to quit if she doesn't and despite having a mabari he's her emotional support animal
DRAGON AGE 2
i couldn't decide if edmund was a mage or a warrior but i decided it would be funnier if he were both, because it has such hawke energy. you surpress his magic? he has a sword. you disarm him? he has a fireball!
i don't know what warrior specialization i would pick for him, but he's definitely a force mage
i think edmund literally falls out of a portal and saves bethany/carver's life so the hawkes just decide to adopt him. he's theirs now. leandra just full on lies and says he's her son. what the fuck is her brother gonna do about it.
edmund walks into the den of sin and darkness that is kirkwall, sighs, and rolls up his sleeves to get to work. he is going to make this city a better place one back alley brawl at a fucking time. try him.
edmund romances anders because he has "i only date disasters/i can fix him" vibes and i think it's funny for him to be a former sovereign whose boyfriend is a wanted terrorist.
but also the da2 polycule IS real edmund is just not dating everyone at once. he's busy and also i hc him as only into men. imagine what you want though this isn't a real fic.
sorry the image of edmund just pspspspspsps-ing all of his sad, angry, morally grey companions into being friends is so fucking funny to me. local man brainwashed by evil as a child is too full of love and the belief in second chances to say no to a blood mage, guy who is willingly possessed at all times, escaped slave who lives in a mansion full of rotting corpses, a cop, and a romance novelist who keeps stealing your life story.
DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION
peter has the qunari mercenary backstory, and is absolutely a warrior build. probably champion build?
also i think he romances cassandra. i considered josephine but that's more a susan romance. if peter were into men that way he'd be all over iron bull and he says as much after a couple drinks.
peter, cornering cullen after their first war meeting: you haven no military experience do you. cullen: please don't tell anyone. i need this job.
he takes one look at solas and goes "oh this guy is not normal. idk what his deal is but this is some kind of oak god at least."
varric doesn't know edmund and peter are siblings until edmund shows up and he is INCREDIBLY offended by it. what do you MEAN i've been calling you hawke for years and it's not even your fucking name. the BETRAYAL.
edmund: my ex-boyfriend blew up the chantry and started the mage/templar war peter: HEY DORIAN, MY HONORABLE GOOD FRIEND WHO IS GAY, HAVE YOU MET MY VERY GAY BROTHER
"well his family owns slaves that's enough of a project for Edmund"
you know the table mission where the warden send you a letter? instead of that i think lucy just turns around and immediately heads back to thedas. THAT'S HER FUCKIN BROTHER!!!!!!!! she shows up after edmund does obviously for maximum "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!!!!" drama
[scene: all three pevensies are roaring drunk in skyhold and casting members of the inquisition as Narnian creatures] Peter: I think Solas is a centaur. He's wise, respectful, and vaguely condescending. Lucy: [sniggering bc she clocked Solas] I think he's a wolf. Edmund: I think he's a marshwiggle. [Peter and Lucy absolutely lose it]
Lucy, halfway through stumbling back to her room: WAIT. DORIAN IS A PEACOCK. Peter, three floors up: [ugly donkey noise]
DRAGON AGE: VEILGUARD
obviously there's nothing 2 say about this yet
however i will say for certain that if there's a noble human background i'll be giving it to susan
idc that she literally got portal fantasy'd into this world. she's pretty and socially dangerous she wormed her way in there. she's got those diplomatic social climber stats.
she's also a rogue, no question.
#fanfic i won't write fridays#the chronicles of thedas#the chronicles of narnia#dragon age#lectures#yes i know it's thursday i hit post instead of schedule.

The day tumblr stans will stop being chronically online is the day I will finally like this fandom. Goofy aah people think their opinions matter?
Last year everyone adored Ayato on this platform but after a certain ahem cult ahem of people joined, I can sense they’re secretly having beef with Ayato and are sending mean anons to Ayato fans for some jealousy reason.
Granted he is not my personal best boy but he’s DiaLovers’ best boy for a fact and the hype he started getting is pretty much deserved. In a series of games that’s a bit dead, I’m glad he’s able to keep it relevant not only for the DiaLovers fans. Don’t mind delulus saying bad things about him, those only exist on this platform anyway and are just seeking for attention and approval from random strangers.
// Tbh, I’m disappointed but not surprised. Unfair and two-faced people are everywhere and if they truly spend their time in that manner, you can already see how miserable their lives must be.
I believe that the Ayato hate train began with Youngblood and picked up steam this year after the release of the Meow Meow vampire art. Many people made fun of Ayato's appearance and blamed him for FaVoRiTiSm , despite the fact that everyone in Japan adored him there. I don't know why, but the DL Tumblr fandom is completely out of touch with everything DL-related. They have no idea that Rejet simply creates Ayato content as a marketing ploy; in fact, Japanese fans are literally the ones who request it. In 2020, Ayato was stated as fans’ top choice and got invited as a co-star with a national idol at Nino-san, which was broadcasted on the second largest television corporation in Japan. If people hadn’t recommended him so much, he wouldn’t have ended up there… it’s not that hard to understand.
This has the same vibe as those kpop fans who always complain about how their ult group is underrated but don’t even stream their songs, instead they spend their time criticizing bigger groups for what??
I’m not forcing anyone to love Ayato but at least give me good reasons to dislike him. I understand not liking ALL Diaboys but isn’t it hilarious how some people would give you a litany of reasons why they can't stand Ayato, but when you look at their bias, he did the same (or worse) things as (than) Ayato? If you truly dislike those actions, at least pick a side, lol. I honestly don’t hate any Diaboy (though I don’t agree with their behavior all the time) but even if I did, I wouldn’t throw shade at that one character out of the blue only to piss of his stans.
And I swear, it's incredibly annoying how some people would tear Ayato down when asked about their favorite character/ship/route, etc., even though he has absolutely NOTHING to do with the question or he isn’t even the main topic of the question. Saying things like, "Yeah, I like this character because, unlike Ayato (just an example hehe)—" or "No hate towards Ayato but — *proceeds to mischaracterize and hate on him*" are examples of uncalled hate speech. Literally why use HIM most of the time as an example when talking about negative things?? At this point that’s not even a coincidence anymore, but a pattern, which is truly giving fan behavior.
Such people are really the worst. Reminds me of how some fans still think it’s okay commenting stuff like “This is great but I don’t like *inserts thing the OP obviously likes*” or “Not trying to be mean but *starts being mean*”. Respectfully, who even asked for your opinion? Mind your own business and learn basic etiquette.

Here at last, my observations for English P4AU manga volume 4! Same formatting as my prior ones, no holds barred for spoilers, and fair warning that I'm writing this off of notes from 5 months ago; so if I miss some details, I apologize. Hectic life shenanigans have limited my ability to reread the volume. xP
-----------------------------------
General Vibes
On the whole, I found this volume to be the best reading experience out of the 4 Udon-translated volumes. Aside from the persisting issue of conflating Sho and Minazuki via calling both “Minazuki”, as well as a few confusing absences of clarifying quotation marks, the narrative is cohesive and comprehensible.
I also think that it stands really well on its own, so, as I said before, I'd highly recommend Eng-Sho and Minazuki fans pick up Vol 4, even if you've been iffy on the Udon translations up until this point. In all honestly, I think Udon did a better translation of Vol 4 than the fan-translation that's out there on the internet, at least in terms of justice done to the characterizations of Minazuki and Sho. Their dialog, with a couple small exceptions, fit their expected lexicons much better.
(No shade to the fan-translation, of course! I'm still super-grateful that people took time out of their lives to give us some form of accessible translation long before Atlus got on printing an official translation, and the fan-translation is still pretty good with it's own wins.)
Also, Narukami's dialog was translated pretty well too, from what I recall, so fans of his might also find his inclusions in the story enjoyable. As for Adachi and Kagutsuchi... I'm not very well-versed in their characterizations, so I wouldn't be able to say. Adachi's lexicon did seem a bit out of character to me, though; like the underlying vibe is kinda the same as his typical lexicon, but the execution feels more 'censored', I guess? It's just the impression that I got, though.
-----------------------------------
Specific Things
• ...They were so close to getting it right throughout the entire translation, but they stumbled at the finish line. Literally – this was within the final few chapters, and may have even been the final mention of Plumes of Dusk in the story, lol. And it's definitely the same kanji and kana that “Plume of Dusk” is always spelled with, so how or why they suddenly fabricated “darkness” in place of “dusk” is beyond me.
Also, for Eng reading context, what gets translated as “the other me” is “もう1つの人格を” with a gikun of “ミナヅキ” in the Jap text. So whether or not that should have vocally been “the other me” or “Minazuki” is up to you to decide. ~(•_•)~ (And for anyone who wants the full Jap transcription of that text bubble: ”黄昏の羽根”ってヤツから生まれたもう1つの人格を消す手術から眠ったままだったらしい)
• I wish that translators would interpret Minazuki's use of “黙れ(damare)” as “Silence.” rather than “Shut up.” It fits his pre-established (by Ultimax-the-game) lexicon far more, in my opinion.
(Jap version of the page [here], because I forgot to take a picture of it, apparently. :P)
• Kanazuki, my beloved nickname. (Though, because pursuing lore details, I'm not sure if Udon's “the two sides of Minazuki” is an accurate translation in this case? It seems to be more like “the two Minazukis”, like how fan-Eng interpreted it, but I don't know enough Jap to tell. For those who want the transcript: ところで2人の皆月のことみんななんて呼んでる?皆月?ミナヅキ?文面ならまだしも打ち合わせの時彼らは大変混乱を招いてくれやがりましてね......)
• It's nice to have the uncropped version of the original Yu cover art... But I'm a bit sad that we don't get the original Sho/Minazuki back-cover as a poster as well.
• Interesting detail: despite reprinting and reformatting the title logos, they seem to have kept the signature color for each volume the same (Vol.1/yellow, Vol.2/red, Vol.3/pink, Vol.4/blue).
• I've already stated some of my thoughts on Ch.28 and Ch.30 here, but for a few things that I didn't cover...
1) Minazuki specifically thinking “The humans are shouting.” gives us an interesting window into his mindset at the time.
2) The doctors were shouting at him because he was climbing up into an open window more-so than just shouting at him in general, lol.
3) The Ikutsuki death report reads more as if Minazuki was narrating it rather than it just being Sho staring at information on a screen, which I think is a neat interpretation.
4) Sho might've been attempting to finish the 'Minazuki extraction procedure' that Ikutsuki began, rather than just blindly attacking Minazuki? I'm not entirely sure, but it's an interesting angle to consider nonetheless.
5) Ikutsuki spinning Minazuki as an “evil spirit” as another generally useful tidbit to employ in Sho characterizations.
6) “Murder pit”. I'm keeping this for my Minazuki characterizations going forwards, lmao.
• Generally adoring the larger page size, 'cause I can see more details in the art that also help me understand the context better in a lot of scenes. For example! After Tsukiyomi takes the full-power hit from Izanagi, I can see the clear signs of exhaustion and Minazuki pushing his limits in the continuation of the fight. His movements are more desperate, he gets pronounced bags under his eyes, he has a kind of wide-eyed look to him, etc. Which I think is a really nice detail, because it shows that Minazuki isn't invulnerable: his desperation to protect Sho is just that strong.
The dialog at the beginning of that scene also helps to demonstrate that: rather than continuing to think in fluent and complex words, his internal monologue is reduced to simple, fragmented instincts (“Can't falter... Must protect... Must...!"). Which, again, a very interesting window into how Minazuki thinks. Even when put under the physical strain of grievous injuries, his first instincts (in this situation, at least) are to hold his ground in order to protect Sho.
(...Though, the Jap text of the aforementioned dialog is a bit different than Udon's translation, lol. It's more like “If I... don't protect... I—" (俺が......守らなければ...俺が――...))
• I don't have much to say about the fight against Kagutsuchi due to not having the best focus when I read through that part of the manga. Hopefully one day I'll reread it with better success. ^^;
• Suicidal Sho? I'm not entirely sure, though, as the “思ってた” in the Japanese version of the text (死んじまうかと思ってた時...) seems like it could mean either “I believe (that this will happen)” or “I plan (on making this happen)”? I don't know what linguistic contexts lend to what definitions, unfortunately, and the visual context could support it either way. (Not to mention, I have no clue if the sentiment is being expressed in a literal or frivolous capacity, given Sho can be hyperbolic at times. >_>)
...Also, I'm not counting Sho knifing his own face as an intentionally suicidal action, because (to the best of my ability to understand) that was intended to be homicidal. It's just that it would have also had a suicidal effect on him.
• Shadow puppet-Yosuke, Shadow puppet-Narukami, and Yosuke are great, lmao.
• Translations of General Teddie's script.
• Lastly, and maybe bestly: They got!! It right!! They kept Sho's name in Minazuki's “What are you going to do to Sho, Kagutsuchi?” line!! (Context: a previous observations/musings post of mine [here].)
-----------------------------------
(If you wanna see the fan-Eng in higher quality than the screengrabs I used, you can find it on Mangadex [here].)

This isn't the usual kind of ask you answer, but I've been working my way through the videopass archive sequentially and have been thinking about the historic/vintage livery that the teams are going to be using in Silverstone after the summer break quite a bit. Personally I'm very fond of the West Honda Pons' black and white livery especially with how they had the names of the riders on one side and the team name on the other, and obviously the gauloises and camel yamahas are iconic. But you've obviously watched a lot of the older seasons, so are there any liveries you'd like to see/which ones would you personally pick for the teams?
I too have been having thoughts about this! I do have some of my faves in a wee folder, and initially my picks were a bit limited in terms of range of years and teams. BUT let's do this properly. all eleven teams. my hot take for each and every one of them
CAVEAT NUMBER ONE look I don't know how 'design' or 'colour theory' or even 'taste' work. most of my reasoning doesn't extend beyond 'I thought this looks nice'
CAVEAT NUMBER TWO I also don't... quite know how this works in terms of who's allowed to use which livery? like not just the sponsor stuff, but would teams be able to use liveries from... idk, a different satellite outfit that was in the sport before they were? this ask mentions the pons liveries.... could honda teams actually use those? what if you don't have a lot of history? is anyone allowed to use mv agusta liveries? would teams go for special liveries, or just the regular ones? how strict are the rules for what you can use?
so. y'know. I'm really just guessing here what's even possible, which meant that for... uh. some of these teams. I did have to reach a bit to come up with a viable livery. let's just make clear this is all vibes and go from here
HONDA
they should have no problem with coming up with plenty of options. let's start with the west honda pons, which the ask references:
excellent pick, anon. if they can use this one, I'd very much support it! we're missing black bikes on the grid currently... this one's simple, it's classy, it's got a little bit of identity with the name written on the side. the dark red highlights work nicely. it's also a livery that, unlike some of the ones to follow, should still work well on the current bikes without losing its identity too much - though maybe you'd have to put some thought into how you'd place the actual name. should still be plenty of space though! and it'd be easily recognisable to fans who are familiar with the old livery, which I reckon is also an important metric
while we're on pons, shout out to the ducados honda pons livery:
nice shade of blue! nice design of the leathers! pleasing shape of the numbers! just has a lot of character and charm to it
anyhow, let's get to the factory honda team. the VERY first pick that popped into my head was the special livery for aragon 2011:
so I get that sense that plenty of people hate this livery and think it looks 'childish' and I'm sorry, but if you think that, congratulations on having bad taste. it's cute! honda barely ever has fun! look at how orange it is! look at the stars! there's a star on the leathers too! I'm fond of the way the front of the bike looks too, how the numbers are placed kinda messily on the star. this one's just, y'know, a bit more creative, something that's just different from how we usually expect liveries to look. screw classy and stylish, give me something with a bit of charm
moving back in time a little further, here's the valencia 2003 livery (valentino's last race with honda):
isn't she gorgeous?? I'd put that bike in my bedroom. lovely from every angle. if you look it up, you can find more photos to show it off properly - just see the sun on the top of the bike. really nice mix of the traditional repsol orange with the yellow, it all just works together. bright like the sun
and one more special livery from the early noughties (if not from the factory team), here's mugello 2001:
hardly a controversial choice, people love this one for a reason. it's pretty!! blue flowers!! this one should work reasonably well on the modern bikes too and obviously most fans should be able to recognise it. again, I don't know what the stance is on special liveries - but hey, it'd be fun to give a certain someone in your factory team a livery from this era
and going back further still, here's eddie lawson 1989:
yes, it's rothmann's honda, yes, I've decided not to care. this is my personal top pick for honda. it should be recognisable even on the current bikes, it pays tribute to honda's long history by not just sticking to something from this century, and it looks cool. clean cut colours that are nicely separated out - I really like the yellow highlights on either side of the bike, plus the way the separation of the blue and white is handled on both the bike and the leathers. it's all quite clearly demarcated, but with nice details to give it character - those stripes on the front of the bike and on the the leathers. the touches of gold. the rider's name on the side of the screen. the number on the back of the bike. cool bit of history, too, like they stole that man away from yamaha and it certainly worked out for them. it's fun!
and one more jump to the past to hailwood's late sixties honda:
this one is proper honda #heritage and I'd totally get if they go with that. my main issue is... I'm not quite sure how it'd work on today's bike, shape-wise? like, the charm here is really the simplicity, the way the orange-gold spreads over the silver. does that work if you have all the bits sticking out everywhere? maybe somebody with a better understanding of design than me can figure it out, and I do like this one. the numbers look nice. idk. it's neat
LCR
well. I guess you'd want to go with one of the cecchinello liveries here? my problem with lcr is that they seem to generally be pretty big on their retro liveries anyway - the first one I thought of... basically looks like the 2021 lcr livery anyway? boring! done that! then there's a few years that are like... silvery, but, and I know this is an unfair way to go about this, I kind of feel I've already gone silvery with a few of my other picks and they're all nicer. so, here's my pick from 2000:
it's a bit busy, but that's kinda the fun of some of these older liveries. big chunk of red, some blue, the nice bright yellow number, even all the logos are kinda fun... I like the weird shape of the white line that separates the red and the black. I don't know, it just works for me as a complete package in a way some of the other lcr liveries don't
YAMAHA
yes, gauloises yamaha. my beloved. everyone's a fan for a reason
can't not mention it!! I do think valentino's version specifically works the best because of the extra bit of flare the yellow highlights provide here. but also the GO!!!!!! thing works on every version. it's fun! sometimes it's okay to go overboard with exclamation mark numbers! this one kinda hits the sweet spot as being proper classy but also joyous, enthusiastic. just overall very much a vibe
on camel yamaha, I do like the livery, but personally I do just associate it more strongly with camel honda? which was literally the same livery. that might not have been the factory team, but those were still serious frontrunners during the early noughties... and, well, it just doesn't feel specifically yamaha to me idk
okay, I'm going to restrain myself here on the valentino livery front. yes, I too liked laguna and valencia 2005. I have only 30 images to play with here and I'm not going to blow half of them on valentino special liveries, so I'm going to stick to my two faves. assen 2007 and catalunya 2008:
they're just! fun! when it comes to liveries in general, my basic criteria are a) can I easily figure out who's riding them, and b) do they make me smile. elegance is boring, give me something more quirky and memorable and FUN. assen is just. a lot. lots of colours, such a bright and cheerful livery that still works as a complete package. the bike's fun, the livery's fun, fabio would look fantastic in this one. and catalunya (in honour of the italian national team) is just a cool idea! the football helmet! the mock shirts! the pink sleeves! there's a real creativity and charm to this one - and at the same time, the base design of the bike is actually really lovely and stylish. also I associated both of these liveries with extremely fun valentino races that I'd definitely recommend (literally two of the top six vale/casey duels), which... well you can't say that about the two 2005 liveries I mentioned above is what I'd say
now, I know I just said forget laguna 2005, but of course laguna 2005 was in itself a reference to a past yamaha livery. so cut out 2005 and just pay direct homage to the iconic late seventies design, feat kenny roberts:
another one everyone loves for a reason! it's a nice shade of yellow, it works well with the white and black... the black dashed line thingies are of course iconic and they just make the whole thing quite dynamic and snazzy
and one more. marlboro liveries do unfortunately slap, plenty of them are fan favourites... look at this red one, feat. eddie lawson 1984:
it's very. blocky. you've got the red bits the white bits the yellow bits. they have nice shapes. nice lines. the yellow bits where one's a circle type thingy and the other one's whatever you call that shape and then you've got the numbers on them. please don't read these descriptions. there's plenty of the marlboro liveries over the course of yamaha's time, but this one's my favourite. and it's the one I'd choose! I know it's super iconic but we already did a tribute to the 70s one back at laguna 2005. do this one instead! it's very yamaha but also a little more creative than the most obvious picks
DUCATI
well. if we're talking marlboro, then yes, of course the old marlboro ducati livery is very memorable:
this is a bike that looks good. there's not much more to say about it (or, well, there probably is, but again it should be obvious I don't know how design works). it's a nice shade of red, I really like how the front looks... my issue with this one is that low key it is the marlboro logo that makes it particularly distinctive. kinda feels against the spirit of the whole thing, damn those tobacco companies and their lovely bike designs
here's mugello 2006, which in itself is a retro livery. I'll allow this one and I do think it's just?? very nice??
really pleasing dull colours, three shades that work together well, got something old fashioned to it. my main problem with this one is... I don't feel like it'd look as good on the current bikes? I don't know, this one works because of the kind of... soft curves of the front of the bike. I do also think quirky and a bit in your face just suit the current bikes better than trying to keep things too classy?
my general problem is that ducati history in motogp is like... we're working with a limited sample size. and when I go through the options I do find them a bit. meh. the thing is, right, the red bikes are nice, I do like the marlboro design, but it's also still essentially a red bike. and if you translate these designs to the current bike shape, it's not going to look THAT different to the bike they're riding any other week. the mugello 2006 probably does better on that account, but I don't know. I think I am kind of committed to making them all actually switch around colours here
so I was wondering if maybe you could delve into the superbikes archive? you could go for the 2001 livery, feat. bayliss (also a motogp race winner):
I think the silver pairs quite nicely with the black leathers... also I like it whenever the bit on the front where they put the number on has a slightly quirky shape. I'm not going to pretend like this is my all time favourite livery, but I do like it well enough! it'd translate well to the current bikes, would give us a proper switch-up, works quite nicely imo
and one more from superbikes, this from 2012:
this one isn't happening for a bunch of reasons, not least because I doubt the effenbert team is one that's remembered particularly fondly by ducati. still, it passes the 'does it look distinctive' test to me, making a 'what if you threw a pint of beer over a motorcycle' livery is at the very least something different
PRAMAC
there's a few different ways you could go here, but I'd just keep it simple and go for one of the years where the pramac logo is big on one side of the bike. here's harada in 2002:
not a bad logo! you've got the arrows and everything! you've also got another more subtle silver arrow in the middle of all the white, makes the whole thing feel quite dynamic. simple colours, very pramac. bold and brash
(you could go for the 2018 mugello livery too but I philosophically reject having a 'retro' livery from 2018)
GRESINI
another satellite team that's been around for a while, and my suspicion is they'll go for one of fausto gresini's liveries. none of those... really appeal to me... so I wanted to suggest one from their telefonica movistar days back in the mid noughties. that's right: I'm talking sete's livery:
in practise, this livery does deeply annoy me in 2004 to 2005 because - despite not being in the same factories - you've somehow managed to get both title rivals in pretty damn similar liveries. like, can I tell them apart? sure. but especially with the poorer video quality, is it really necessary to make it this tricky? well! no! but also sete had this livery before his title rival switched to yamaha, so he came first. I like this one a lot! I like the way the yellow is integrated, the chequered bits around the telefonica movistar logo, good helmet too. slightly unusual patterns for the win - there's quite a lot going on with the lines on this design but it all kinda comes together. I actually think you could make this one look really good on the modern bikes, and it has a real spark and flare to it. also I would find it narratively pleasing if marc rides with sete's livery
but if gresini wants to go another way, shout out to their 2010 livery (several of the early 2010s look quite similar):
I'm not the biggest fan in the world of white liveries, but the style of this one pleases me idk. there's a slightly unusual shape on the side of this one, which I've already said I approve of. it's a nice shade of red to pair with the white. not my first pick, but I'd settle for this one
VR46
right, this is one where I really have questions. ... are they allowed to use just any of valentino's old liveries? what are the rules here? I think to maybe keep things straightforward here, I'll avoid his actual honda and yamaha liveries (those kids are not getting the gp11/12 let's be real) and stick to the lower class ones. now... those are aprilia liveries, and if aprilia wants to use some of those then please have at it. otherwise: vr46, lads, this is the way you want to go. here's 1999 (though 1998 also looks lovely):
one where the leathers and helmet really feels like a part of the design, like that's the bit that really completes the look. the dark grey base tone works as something you can layer all the fun stuff on. the font of the numbers! the warm reds and yellows! the stickers! this one's just FUN, it has a real adolescent verve and joy to it
and of course there's the mugello 1999 special livery:
she's so pretty!! recognisable! I don't even know what to say about this one apart from. look. it's fun. just something youthful and joyous and energetic to the whole thing... keeps things pretty straightforward on the colour front, the dark orange-brown highlights really brings it all together. or something
APRILIA
so. here's another question. are we just stuck with premier class liveries here? because if so, it's pretty slim pickings... but look, thirty images, we're not getting into everything they've been up to in the lower classes
luckily, aprilia do have quite a nice 2002 entry in the premier class:
dark colours are fun sometimes!! I like the shape of the ms logo! it's a bit chaotic, but in a fun way! it feels very aprilia, somehow. this would be my pick I think, I could easily transpose this to the current bikes in my mind's eye. aprilia kinda feels like it's supposed to be a bit chaotic, all those bits sticking off. love the red sleeves of the leathers
you could also go for the 2004 livery:
I'm not personally? super into the white and gold as a combination? definitely prefer the darker base colour of 2002. but it's quite distinctive - the red sleeves actually pop out more in this one. it's neat!
TRACKHOUSE
uh. um. uh. are they... allowed to run petronas colours? I mean it's basically still the same team? maybe they can borrow some aprilia ones? if not, then well they're the rahh rahh america team. I would ask ducati very nicely if maybe they could use this indianapolis 2009 livery in honour of the late nicky hayden:
I know you probably can't do that, but well! if you could, that'd be my pick for them! I like stars, america has stars on their flags, this is very rahh rahh america. the helmet and liveries are also fun and have stars on them. that's all I've got, sorry
KTM
okay, we've got an even bigger problem than aprilia here. these guys have NOT been in motogp long enough. my idea here was... so obviously ktm just do not have a suitable back catalogue of liveries, but aren't they like basically red bull? and red bull did like. a one off partnership with suzuki for laguna 2005, and suzuki isn't even in the sport any more so it's not like there's a CLASH there. I don't know how this works! whatever. I think it's nice!
it's not the most exciting thing I've ever seen in my life, but the red bull logo works well on the black. looks classy! and if suzuki gets mad then well red bull can just chuck money at them idk
the other option is... doesn't ktm own mv agusta now? go for one of those! they look quite similar for much of a decade, so I could have included another hailwood photo here - but I'm just going to use the early seventies mv agusta instead:
it's very simple, very basic. I'm not... sure this works on bikes these days. anyway I chose this one over its predecessor because I do like the stripes on the leathers, very adidas coded. if you can figure out how to make this whole design look good for the more complex bikes of today, then this would be a good pick imo. I like quirky shapes to put my numbers on... but sometimes circles are also good
TECH3
so. for a while, these are running the gauloises yamaha liveries, which we've already covered. maybe they could take the fortuna yamaha liveries instead that they used, especially if the factory yamaha squad doesn't want the kinda similar ones they ran at certain points. basically they're the red yamahas in the noughties. I'd go for 2004 tech3, which... y'know, the fortuna font is just quite nice, they're stylish liveries, they're just bikes you look at and go 'wow that sure is a nice bike'. and yes, we do need to at this point also mention the estoril 2004 spiderman livery
all I'm saying, if pedro acosta does not show up to silverstone on the spiderman bike. a part of me will be disappointed
otherwise, I thought the dunlops in 2007 were quite nice?
yes, yes, it's another yellow and black yamaha livery. but hey, it's a bit different from the one they referenced at laguna 2005, keeps things fresh. wouldn't mind this one
IN CONCLUSION
might add to these at some point, but those are kinda the first picks that come to mind! a lot of these are annoyingly recent, because most teams on the grid aren't that old. not quite sure what the rules of the game are here! which does mean that, as much as I enjoy the recent designs, I kinda hope honda and yamaha don't go for liveries from this century and dig a bit deeper in the archives
basically, what I'm looking for from the teams is a retro livery that a) is clearly recognisable to anyone familiar with said past livery, b) works with the actual shape of the current bike, c) looks different enough from their current livery, I want colour swaps, and d) looks cool. also, they should coordinate. istg if half of the grid shows up in white liveries... hopefully at least some of the teams will go for the fun ones!
#i don't feel like with old streams i ever SEE the liveries particularly clearly so some of them are a bit wasted on me#BUT my twitter for you page shoves like. so many photos of old liveries at me. so i've basically developed my takes through that#oh and obviously i know all the valentino ones. partly because i have my very nice reference book with very nice photos#also there's been a reddit thread on this like. once every two months for the past decade. that'll help#some of these are a REACH. ktm and trackhouse in particular but look that's all I could come up with#if ONLY suzuki were still in the sport#motogp#//#brr brr#batsplat responds#collected my photos during the race today which was nicely calming#anon icl I'm not sure there really is a type of question I usually answer. a wide range of stuff hits my inbox#I LOVE rating things even when I don't have like. sophisticated opinions. I'm just going colours pretty!!#I hate myself for this but when I saw the news I immediately went!! sete + marc livery!! gresini heritage!!#get that man in blue and yellow!!#also if anyone wants to add their own faves please feel more than free to. the thirty image limit really hurt with this one

As a Paul Aron fan, he has a kind of similar attitude/vibe to Lando (for better or for worse). A bit of a playboy/ladies man situation meets scorned and self critical. He shouldn’t have walked off the podium the way he did but he had a rough last year.
He got dropped by Merc for Kimi when they could’ve continued to support both of them and when he’s out driving Kimi (obviously more goes into the who’s better discussion but still), got dropped by Prema for Kimi, and hasn’t gotten picked up by a new academy. Not to mention despite being 2nd in the championship everyone in the press ignores him. All the press he does get is from teenage girls who find him attractive and middle aged men’s saying he won’t ever be big because he’s from a small country with no money.
I think he kinda has a chip on his shoulder and has all season and probably will continue to. It’s very much giving Lando mid to late last season where he was very self critical and it was clear he was frustrated all season IMO
Oh this is some interesting lore!
That podium walk off was something but I think people forget how young these guys are. It’s not an excuse but it is an explanation.
I’m piggybacking off this because as I’ve just started watching f2 I have no one to say this to but I feel like it’s not talked about enough generally…does the fact that the standings in f2 have absolutely no relation to who is talked about for an f1 seat not signal that something is really wrong with this system? Like, granted I’ve only been following f2 since this year but I can fully see why the results are not representative, but does that not bother anyone? Exactly, Paul Aaron is second in the championship but quite clearly is not thought of as a prospect for a seat by big teams, while Ollie Bearman is all but guaranteed a Haas seat and can trundle about in 4th because everyone knows that doesn’t mean anything? Again, that’s not shading Bearman, he clearly is the real deal, but the fact that that is not evident from his f2 results says something about that series, I would think (and there are other examples of this).
Okay, rant over.
Yeah, that makes sense why Aaron would not be feeling too hot. Idk how long he’s been in F2 though. The system seems to be really messy honestly and probably very frustrating for drivers.
That being said, just like Lando, he needs to mellow out in public.

DECEMBER 2023 WRAP UP
[loved liked ok no thanks (reread) book club*]
Mixed Magics • Chalice • To Shape a Dragon's Breath • The Haunting Season • Hither Page • The Henchmen of Zenda • System Collapse • The Phantom of the Opera • An Unexpected Peril • A Minor Chorus* • The September House • (The Dream Thieves) • The Fragile Threads of Power • The Pinhoe Egg • (Network Effect) • Some Desperate Glory
total: 16 (audiobook: 12 / ebook: 4)
Happy New Year booklr! Here's to actually getting my last monthly wrap-up post of 2023 out in decent time for once.
Some Desperate Glory - I'm getting myself off to a bad start here because I don't actually remember much from the book and I didn't write a review at the time. oops. But I do remember that once things got going I was hooked, and I couldn't wait to pick the audiobook back up. Definitely some content warnings to look out for, but an incredible read. I definitely need to go back and check out the author's other work.
Network Effect - the last book of my Murderbot reread, still great, glad to have finally read this in a text format! Also better suited to be read *after* Fugitive Telemetry, I wish I'd known to read them in chronological order the first time.
The Pinhoe Egg - a nice wrap up to the main Chrestomanci series! Though if anyone can tell me why on eARTH the 'recommended' reading order is like *that*, please explain it to me. I'd forgotten so many things by the time we got back to Cat, if I ever reread I'm going chronologically.
The Fragile Threads of Power - lord help me, I could do a whole rant. A quick summary of my relationship to this series: loved Shades of Magic when it first came out, did not love/was very annoyed by most of it when I reread them in 2023. Also have not really liked any of Schwab's other work. BUT. I was under the impression that this spinoff would have new main characters, and the old ones would be present but not in the center. If I didn't just make this up, it was LIES. The original MC's still dominate probably at least 60% of the book, and you'd think 7 years in-book and more experience on behalf of the writer would mature them, but a) no, and b) so many goddamn flashbacks. And Kel's assasin-sona was so cringe I wanted to cry. I did actually like the new main character which really is the biggest shame of all. If you see me contemplating the next book please stop me.
The Dream Thieves - I don't know that I have much to add yet to my thoughts about TRB in my Nov post, but I've been having a very strange experience where when I'm actively reading these, I'm having an incredibly good time; when I'm not I completely forget I was reading it. lol?
The September House - this is possibly the closest to my ideal horror book that I've ever found??!!? I have a weird relationship with horror, wherein I am not uninterested, but I almost never enjoy the ones I read (I think it has to do with my irl anxiety, idk). But THIS one. It's such an INCREDIBLE blend of like, mundane horrors and dark humor? I loved it. The "you can live with the horrors if you just follow the rules" is very much my vibe, and the way the author chose to have it integrate with the main character's experiences of domestic abuse was very smart. Deeply enjoyed, but probably won't be a favorite.
A Minor Chorus - this month's book club pick! I really really wish I'd liked this, and I'm torn between "thank god it was short," and "oh I wish this was longer." It's about a queer Indigenous doctoral student in Canada who's somewhat lost his way on his dissertation and is instead writing a novel (maybe), inspired by the stories of people in his community. On one hand, the writing was sometimes very beautiful and the different stories were interesting! On the other, my academic-speak abilities are limited, and the narrator did not hold back. He even explicitly states at one point, oh I can't describe my book this way to [character] because he won't understand my academic language. And...yeah. My brain got a little overwhelmed and I skimmed a lot of those parts. The hopeful part of me thinks if that if the book had been longer maybe I would have had time to "get it," but idk.
An Unexpected Peril - Veronica Speedwell is as Veronica Speedwell does. Had a good time with this even though it's proving to not be the most memorable. Mostly I remember intensely panicking over whether or not V had practiced forging the princess's signature, lol.
The Phantom of the Opera - this was a last minute sub for my classics challenge; I've never seen any of the adaptations, but I happened to see the book on tumblr when I was scrambling for a replacement and thought it might be fun. And it was! Quite ridiculous and dramatic, and I had a good time reading it. I was surprised by the outsider POV on the story, but it was good, just a shame that it didn't allow Christine to tell her own story. If anyone has a Christine-centered retelling I should read, let me know! And are there any adaptations I should watch?
System Collapse - new Murderbot! I was so excited for this, I'm irritated that my brain and work schedule didn't want to cooperate and let me read my nice pretty hardcover; I ended up getting the audiobook from the library instead. I had an incredible time, because it's Murderbot, how could I not? But it's also interesting, because Network Effect felt quite cohesive and contained on its own, but this feels very much like an in-between story (almost like Fugitive Telemetry), rather than a continuation of the same thread. I'll be interested to see where Martha takes us from here.
The Henchmen of Zenda - my last KJ Charles of the year! I did mean to get through all of her books, but things slipped by me these last few months so I still have a couple, but managed to fit this standalone in! It's not the only time she's pulled characters from works of classic fiction, and I admit, I'm now very curious and kind of want to read the original Prisoner of Zenda? Definitely this version had an exciting plot that was fun to read, though I don't think it'll be my favorite of her works (yay for a non-traditional relationship structure tho :)
Hither, Page - I don't think I've read Cat Sebastian before, but I've had this one recommended and it sounds right up my ally - historical/cozy myster/spy shenanigans/gay romance! And it was an incredibly pleasant read, would recommend, but I do think it could have been better as both a mystery and a romance.
The Haunting Season - I almost picked this up in October for spooky season, but put if off for Dec since it's meant to be wintery ghost stories - and only just remembered it in time! I almost wish I hadn't. The first two stories were so meh for me that I almost DNF'd it, I just didn't want the fuss of having to find a new audiobook for work the last day before Christmas break. Luckily Natasha Pulley showed up next with a good story (I really ought to read her books) and there was a good run of 4 stories with another 2 meh to round things out. It wasn't a total loss, but I wouldn't really recommend.
To Shape a Dragon's Breath - If you've seen people singing the praises of this book, they're not wrong! It's a very good if sometimes heavy read, and this is definitely the closest I've gotten to liking a boarding school story since Protector of the Small (I got burned out on them very quickly, lol). It does sometimes read like the debut it is, it's not perfect (lots of infodump speeches, lord save me from the technicalities of alchemy/chemistry, and I would have liked to see more done in her relationship with her dragon), but it's also doing some incredible and unique things that really make me want to see more books in this series and whatever else the author writes.
Chalice - I've read Robin Mckinley before and I've found her work ok, but this one has been repeatedly recommended in the HOTE discord server - I figured it would be a good one to wrap up the year with! And surprise surprise, the fealty-coded discord loves a book about... fealty XD and good stewardship, and magic bees, etc. It's incredibly on brand, and I had a lovely time with this fairy-tale of a book.
Mixed Magics - a collection of Chrestomanci short stories; I actually read one of the stories a few months ago due to the recommended reading order (bleh), and thought it would be fairly simple to finish it off before the end of the year, now that I'd finished the rest of the series. All fun, if not equally interesting, and a nice end to the year. Now I just need to find a new Diana Wynne Jones series to try (not on audiobook, alas, my library is all out of those).
(I did almost consider then binging the Hither, Page sequel on new year's eve, just so I wouldn't split the series, but decided against it :D)

Days Into Decades Bonus
"Oooof now i want to know what their dynamic was with Jake. Like he was friends with Quaritch so also probably with these guys. How would they react to knowing that Jake was there with Spider, and they weren't."
@fireygoldenrose on Ao3 asked this and I thought I'd answer on here.
So, I don't think Jake would've been close with the members of Deja Blue, but I do think he would've known most/all of them through his time in the army. In my mind, Jake was stationed under Quaritch when he first arrived overseas, but was quickly transferred to 'protect' a group of scientists in a neighboring village, which was where he met Neytiri and eventually fell in love.
I do think that even when Jake and Quaritch were friends, it was a little tense, because Quaritch was his superior and leader. So, they weren't really drinking buddies or anything, but they got along well.
As for Jake's relationship with the rest of Deja Blue, I'd imagine he saw them as brothers (and sisters) in arms, up until he had a reason to see them differently. When it came time to the arrest/sentencing, I think he was mostly torn up that it was Quaritch, his friend/someone he trusted, who he was having to take down. I also think that in gen when you have strong positive feelings for someone (like a friend/family member/love interest/whatever) and they let you down, sometimes you keep those strong feelings, they just turn negative.
From Deja Blue's POV, I think they'd be kind of angry that Jake got so much when they spent years suffering. Especially if they knew how Spider was treated and that Sully saw it all and didn't do anything beyond the bare minimum. Spider (and the Sully's) might not see the neglect (from the McGregor's) as abuse, but I think Deja Blue definitely would once/if they knew about it.
I think they're all probably jealous of the success Jake has, even if they did do everything they were arrested for (they chose to follow orders).
At the same time though, I think all of them are very aware of the thin ice they're on after prison. And I don't think anyone (Quaritch especially) would risk going back to jail (and leaving Spider) just to get revenge on Sully.
I imagine that if Lyle was picking up Spider from a sleepover or something, it'd have divorced-parent-pick-up vibes. Like, Lyle rings the doorbell, shades on, all smiles and politeness while he greets Spider and sends him to the car. As soon as he's buckled in the passenger seat, Lyle sends some insult Jake's way (maybe pushes his glasses up with his middle finger slying) and then drives away with his favorite (and only) nephew. Def wants the details, probably bribes him with McDonald's for breakfast, eye twitching when Spider says 'Mr. Sully made us french toast'.
They can't be flat out rude, considering the circumstances (and the fact the Spider's only three friends are all Sully Spawn), so they all agree to be as petty as possible.
This is all I've thought of so far, but I feel like the pettiness would be unmatched if any of Deja Blue interacted with Jake.

Thoughts on ppl who gave him a different name while blizz was debating (and also have not followed the Fandom/lore since the first game)?
I think that's pretty cool! I don't see it often in fic-- but especially for people who have decided a long time ago that canon isn't for them more power to them! I tend to pick and choose lore myself and I'm kind of compiling my own lore Bible for the works I'm putting out (hopefully.... eventually....) That combines what they've given us and omits a lot that feels really sloppy or fixing things up so they make more sense.
I think my gripe with the issue comes MORE with people who omit that his name was changed. His original namesake was/is a P.O.S and as much as I was emotionally attatched to the old name for personal reasons, it's tainted.
I get it that not everyone cares about victims or even hold people accountable, but the people who get upset that they changed his name at all give me icky vibes. Either you're unwilling to accept that the name was changed at all (as a NB person who changed their name I see this a lot bc people tend to decide whether your name change was "necessary" or not depending on how your appearance has changed) or you don't care that the original JM did and are willing to look past it to keep the name. Which.... Is it that big of a deal?
A cowboy by any other name would still be as goofy and lovable.
Not trying to make any assumptions, maybe I'm 10000% wrong and I'm not trying to like throw shade or hate on anyone, I'm just also so used to people making certain choices for specific reasons and I've realized that it's a sense of anxious discomfort that I can't push past even though I've tried.

15 Questions Meme!
Not really tagged by @magnetocerebro but it’s been a while and I’m in the mood, so why not?
1. Are you named after anyone?
Sort of? I apparently had an ancestor named Malinda Minerva Spanigal! Is that not the coolest name ever?? My parents also found ‘Malina’ in a name book or something and decided they liked the sound and meaning of it and it could also honor the ancestor but just knock of the ‘d’!
2. What was the last time you cried?
It’s actually not too recently, oddly enough! I’ve been a little on edge for hormonal reasons the past few days, and the good ol’ dissatisfaction with my current place in the world, but I’ll cite the funniest example. I watched an episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys where the people tried to put Herc on trial for inspiring people to endanger themselves by trying to be ‘heroes’ and how ‘heroes’ had no place in a civilized society. But in the end he gave a passionate speech about what it means to be a hero and if that’s wrong in the modern world, he’ll gladly go to prison for it, and then all his friends stood up and did the “I am Spartacus” thing to stand by him, and I’m not gonna lie, I got a little choked up.
3. Do you have kids?
Nope! This is unusual among my high school classmates, but normal among my college friends. I do have two cats that I unload my motherly feelings on, though, along with some of my friends’ kids, to whom I am an honorary auntie.
4. Do you use sarcasm?
I’ve come around to being mostly irony-free and earnest! However, I feel being around my brother brings out my sarcastic side. And sometimes I will try to use sarcasm for good, ie. sarcastically complaining about my friends’ qualities that are clearly false and the opposite of their best qualities, to demonstrate how absurd their own self-criticism is to me.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I mean, obviously just seeing them I’ll notice what they look like, but I feel I am also very attuned to the kind of energy people project, and shy away from certain kinds of energy and gravitate toward others. I don’t mean anything weird and spiritual by this, I just mean the vibes and emotions I pick up from the way people talk, carry themselves, respond to others, etc.
6. What’s your eye color?
It’s a dull greyish shade of green or blue that looks greener or bluer or brighter depending on what I’m wearing.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
I mean, for sure happy endings! There’s certain brands of ‘horror’ that aren’t too rough for me and have elements I do enjoy, but often that milder horror will have a happy ending, too!
8. Any special talents?
Well, if I’m honest, I have no false modesty about my singing voice. In fact, I have been known (to my shame) to get a little vain or show-offy about it. But so many people tell me it’s nice, and I take great joy in singing, and I like the sound of it, too, and I have a special pride when I am able to lead people in song because my voice is on-pitch and strong and confident.
9. Where were you born?
Billings, Montana!
10. What are you hobbies?
At the moment? I’m trying to get back into drawing and writing fanfics. But I have not achieved massive success so far! I’ve had more success reading through my third biography of Lafayette, and writing weird meta-essays comparing fandom stuff . . . When I’m with like-minded friends, we always sing folk-songs or hymns together, and that’s always a wonderful time! Occasionally I enjoy playing my guitar alone or cross-stitching as well . . . To simplify, my hobbies are everything and nothing!!
11. Do you have any pets?
Cats! My two girls I adopted in Korea, Kartoshka (Toshka for short) and Dulcinea (Dulcie for short) have now joined their venerable old uncle Phoenix, whom I got in high school and who stayed with my parents while I was in Korea.
12. What sports do you play/have played?
I used to play softball in middle school, and I took a summer course in Mixed Martial Arts once. When I was a little girl, I took ballet. But I’m not super-athletic by nature, so I haven’t played in quite a while.
13. How tall are you?
5′3′‘-5′4′‘ I think.
14. Favorite subject in school?
English, Choir, Art (specifically loved my sculpture class; my teacher was amazing!) and Acting in high school. Really loved my Philosophy class and Classical Mythology class when I got to college, but my FAVORITE class of my college career was Screenwriting!
15. Dream job?
Well, as you can see by my favorite subjects and favorite hobbies, my interests are very wide across the spectrum of the arts! Do I wanna be a musical theatre actress? A folk/filk singer? A stage or film director, or actress? A screenwriter? An author of fiction or an author of comparative literature criticism? A comic book writer/illustrator? A sculptor? An English teacher or college lecturer who just gets to monologue about my favorite books and themes as a living? A youtuber who does the same? All of the above and more?
But also, my career experience so far has been in International ESL Education, and I do love working with kids! I specifically loved working closer with individual kids in a tutoring capacity, while also experiencing new cultures! So I was looking into au pair/governess stuff . . .
Following in the footsteps of my esteemed forebear, I won’t tag anyone specifically, but welcome anyone who sees this (especially if we know each other!) to participate, if they feel so inclined! :)

"Are you sure planning isn't one of yours?" Kon teased, knowing how invested Timothy could get in strategy and how his creativity flourished upon making them. "I don't think you'd enjoy being humiliated, babe. You have enough self-esteem issues already, to be able to find it sexy you have to be able to separate it from reality. Like, how you painted me a few minutes ago. That was hot to me, despite you finding it disrepectful - maybe, even in spite of that? The fact that you found it degrading, made me feel degraded, and I liked it even more because of that. But afterwards, it took me a hot minute to remember that I'm more than just your slut, I'm also your boyfriend. I could be wrong, but I don't really think that's your vibe. What I like about humiliation is I'd normally fight anyone who tried to do that. Hell I'm known for smack-talk myself. I like it when you turn it on me. Keeps me on my toes. It's just another act of submission really."
"If you really want, we can give each other lists of words we consent to being used. That'll give you a feel for how hard to hit and it'll give me an idea of what to avoid." Kon pressed gentle kisses to his neck again, deliberately not marking - instead pressing his lips to soothe instead of harm, settling in between his boyfriends legs with ease. "But we're still going to watch those videos. Because they're hot." He smiled against the crook of his neck.
He listened to Timothy's questions, humming as he tried to think of their answers. "Learning to play the guitar would be pretty cool." He was fairly confident Tim already knew he wanted to learn more about him. That was the point of the questions. "Guess I just need to find a musician and tap into their brainwaves." "Girl, what are you talking about I'm perfect." He mock-huffed before descending into giggles. "Work on my temper. I know I snap easily." "I'd like to introduce you to Ma. There's no time for that tonight now though, it's late and you know farm life, gotta get up way early. I'll drop by tomorrow to pick up my suit and tell her all about you." "Okay, we better get moving before I decide to sleep right where I am." Kon mumbled, resisting the urge to snuggle closer. He got up reluctantly and headed to the bathroom to take a quick piss before washing his hands, and heading back out to put on the white shorts only to find them missing. He laughed when he saw a glimpse of white poking out of their bag. He grabbed some fresh boxers, a pair of ripped jeans and an 'S' crested black shirt before grabbing his jacket and tying on his combat boots. Shades came last; that darker tint of the world a familiarity he'd missed during the weekend. He grabbed the packet of cigarettes on the kitchen counterand stuffed them into the bag as well, zipping it up once they were ready. He pulled it over his shoulders and held his arms open for Tim to jump into. When his boyfriend did, Kon floated out to the balcony, closing it behind them with his telekinesis and locking it with the same ability.
He soared into the warm Hawaiian air for the last time, the islands fading behind them as he flew at a fast but steady speed, keeping the altitude low enough to be safe for Tim. Surprisingly, his boyfriend didn't fall asleep this time - instead talking to him on the way back to Bludhaven. Maybe he was afraid that Kon would struggle to stay awake if he didn't? He had yawned after standing up from the bed - using his abilities plenty throughout the day, body still recovering from the intrusion earlier. Tim had asked Kon what he wanted in an apartment, to which Kon had playfully retorted "You", before taking the question more seriously. He'd eventually settled on asking for one on the top floor of wherever they'd end up staying, explaining that people might see him or Krypto otherwise (who was decidedly less subtle) and it wouldn't be good for Tim's identity. When asked if he wanted his own room or them to share one, Kon answered share, explaining that if he didn't want to share a bed with him for any reason, he'd probably need some space from the apartment as well. He pressed a kiss to his forehead, trying to reassure him that he'd be back when he was ready. Finally, he teased that it needed to be big enough for a house party. As he landed by the bedroom window, Kon opened it telekinetically and waited for Tim to step inside before following. He set the bag down, then flopped onto the bed, seemingly uncaring that the sheets weren't fresh, not even bothering to take off his shoes or shades.
Timothy was fully aware of what certain colors did to Kryptonians, but if Kon-El was thinking about this, that means he knew the risks and better understood their time limit, how much to use, where to place it, and what the limits were. If not.. “That will have to be a fantasy we plan, not one we can fall into like others. I have never humiliated someone sexually, so that is also something we should talk about a bit more often in passing to get me used to it so I can give you that sexual gratification without going too hard where I hurt your feelings. I have also never been humiliated sexually, so this is a completely new territory for me. I am open to exploring it as with most things, but so you know as we venture in, there are going to be a lot of questions first.” Hands continued to wander over his back, enjoying touching the man’s heated flesh everywhere. It was a strange feeling to know someone’s body and yet keep finding new things that one liked about it. “I know it is not romantic or thrilling to talk details, but it is safe. And we will know each other’s limits without asking in a few years.” He hoped.
Legs spread a bit wider so Kon could settle between his knees, every bit of their mid fronts against one another. “We need to watch those videos you told me about soon so I can see it from different perspectives. The BDSM ones. Or you can be verbal and tell me.” A hand reached for Kon-El’s chin to tilt it up so they could see each other’s eyes. “I meant it when I said that I want to give you everything I can in that sense. I need you to stay open about how it makes you feel and why you want it when you can even if it is uncomfortable and exposes some things. The more I understand, the better I can give you what you need.” His neck helped that head lean forward, lips pressing to Kon’s forehead to show care and respect. “I would never harm you for my enjoyment, to make that clear. Now harm you for YOUR enjoyment, yes.”
He missed Kon-El being in his head already, but it gave him a chance to think of his questions and being more verbal with this topic. It was an important one that would keep circling because when they had sex, Kon admitted to it being harder and faster, making him hurt. They had a lot more to talk about, but Timothy felt more informed about it.
“Okay, my three questions, then we can get dressed and head home.” he said it so casually, without hesitation that they both considered it home. “What is one thing you would like to learn about? What bad habit of yours would you like to break and end? Tell me a relationship goal you have that is short-term for us.”

Thess vs The Yarn Store
So as I said I was going to, I went to the yarn store yesterday. It's called Really Maria, lovely little haberdashery on Lordship Lane over in Dulwich. (UK folkses who like the crafting, even if you can't get to Dulwich, they do online orders, and they've got a really pretty new set of quilting squares in.)
Two tiny cons:
I did not get to see the shop cat (though it was busy so the shop cat was probably hanging out somewhere quieter).
The shop is tiny, and a little difficult to navigate if you're using a mobility aid.
The cons were greatly, greatly outweighed by the pros, though. The shop, while small and slightly squished, is well-organised, with all the yarn types well-labelled, all of the minimal space used to great effectiveness, and generally just has a really warm vibe. The people already in there were chatting to the staff and to each other and there was this whole feel of, "We are people who enjoy crafting so we already have something in common, so all is cool". Normally I get "please shut up and let me shop" mood when people are talking over my head in a shop. Here, though, it was okay.
Which is probably why I was emboldened to help out when the lady at the counter was trying to explain their current deal to someone buying yarn. See, they're trying to clear some stock, so they're currently doing a thing where if you buy three skeins of yarn of the same price, you get a fourth of the same price free. The word "fourth" didn't turn up in the signage, though. So while the lady at the counter was trying to explain to the woman who had two skeins of single-coloured yarn and one somewhat more expensive skein of rainbow yarn that she could get two extra skeins of single-coloured yarn for the price of one, and it wasn't quite working, I just waited for a pause and went, "It's basically a 'buy three, get a fourth free' deal". Both customer and shopkeep looked at me gratefully, and the customer went off to pick up two more skeins of yarn.
("I like purple", she said, going for two in the shades of purple she hadn't already picked up. "Woman after my own heart", said I, noting the shades for later.)
That actually helped because now I'd already spoken to the shopkeep, and had an entry to ask what the best yarn for a beginner crocheter was, explaining that I'd got one of those crochet kits and that the hooks were nice but the yarn was cheap crap. Apparently a lot of the websites lie, because she said (confirming what I'd honestly thought from the start) that you're better off starting with chunky wool, something for a 6mm hook. Now, the labels of the yarn I got in my kit are written in ... I think Korean, so while the labels are supposed to say which kind of hook to use, I can't tell what few numbers on the label are the ones I need, but I will tell you this much: they were not designed for a 6mm hook. Way too thin for that. So note for anyone who wants to get into crochet or wants to give someone they love a crochet kit - just get the hooks and everything else, and then go to a reputable yarn store for the actual yarn instead of getting a crochet kit that includes yarn. Not only will they tell you what yarn you need, they are likely to have better quality. There is such a difference between cheap acrylic yarn and good acrylic yarn, and the kits will fob you off with cheap crap acrylic yarn and may or may not have legible hook sizes on the labels.
I told the shopkeep that she had a new regular customer. Because, I mean, seriously. The stock is great, the customers are nice, the shopkeep is awesome, and there's a shop cat hiding out in there somewhere. The lovely shopkeep needs business, and the hiding shop cat requires pet treats. So yes, I am bigging up my new favourite haberdasher. I mean, the one I know in Camden is a bit bigger and probably has more stock, but it's not as nicely arranged and the vibe isn't as nice. Plus this also has the added bonus of being within a 15-ish minute bus ride from my house.
I haven't started the crocheting yet, but I have a week off and the fibro fatigue has hit me like a fucking train. So I'm going to do as little as possible today. It's a shame, because it's a beautiful day, but honestly, fibro fatigue sometimes just needs to be treated with rest. Plus we're getting into pollen season and my sinuses are hating me again. I do have plans for the week, though:
It's time for the spring planting again. My lemon balm, sage, rosemary, oregano, and mint are okay. My thyme needs cutting at minimum, to see if it'll flare back up like it did last year. My strawberries also need trimming and probably a little bit of replanting. My basil definitely needs replanting. I'm waiting for some warmer weather before I put the lavender plant I've been nurturing for a whole year out onto the balcony. My petunias are fine, though they probably also need a bit of a cut-down. My marigolds managed to survive the winter so far, but the other flowers need digging up and replanting. And I'm trying my luck with an immature blueberry bush and an immature raspberry bush this year.
Baking needs doing. Chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, and coffee loaf at minimum.
Crafting also needs doing. Definitely see how I do at crochet with a 6mm hook and good chunky acrylic yarn. But I also want to do a test run of making solid perfume. I just haven't decided what scent blends to start with. Also I'm more and more convinced I need a decent double-boiler; mine is kind of cheap shit. Well, at least it still works.
But honestly, mostly it'll be video games. Because I want to play video games. Given the having to start a BG3 playthrough all over again because attempting to keep Minthara on a good playthrough is bugged all to shit, plus Horizon: Forbidden West coming out in a couple of weeks and The Thaumaturge (if my budget can handle it) coming out tomorrow? I need some uninterrupted gaming time.
It's a good thing I have the week after next off too, or I'd be in a bit of a state.
So. Who wants to hear about scent blend ideas for the Baldur's Gate 3 crew?
