CHOOSE YOUR FAVOURITE RAIN WORLD REGION
Pipeyard: Dislike constant vulture attacks? Centipedes your favourite treat? Scavs are your friends? Than you my friend must like Pipeyard. Home to some really good threat music, a plentiful scav population, way less leeches than the alternative route to shoreline. Pipeyard has a lovely design and is an easy to traverse region.
Waterfront Facility: Shorelines original look, and Moons version of Exterior, Waterfront Facility is a lot more friendly than Five Pebbles version. Waterfront Facility is a beautiful region with a awesome threat track.
Other Propaganda:
This stuff is from asks it could be anti propaganda or have 0 factual information but its fun to look at anyway :]
Pipeyard:
Waterfront Facility:
None :[

Rain World threat music poll (the sequel)
So with the base game songs, Shoreline was the overwhelming winner, but what about the DLC regions?
Reblog for sample size yada yada. If you have any thoughts feel free to leave them in tags, I'm curious about what people think about the songs beyond statistics :)

Hell yeah, the creature polls are back! These are pretty much my favorites to write about, so I'm glad to see a couple new ones being posted.
This one is particularly interesting, because it addresses the Rain Deer, a creature that is truly one of a kind, in many ways. Some people might lump them into the same category as some other creatures. Specifically due to their ability to be grabbed onto, in order to gain assistance in traversing the region they're inhabiting - a trait they share with Jetfishes, Squidcadas, Lantern Mice, Grappling Worms and Yeeks. They're essentially the 'helper creatures', if you will.
Now, despite this, I personally didn't put Rain Deer into the same group as those guys. Because sure, they might have slightly similar goals in their design, but where they stand in the game's ecosystem is completely different. The other helper creatures are all Slugcat sized, and are all prey animals, ones you could consider to be below all the Slugcats (save for Saint) on the food chain, due to their inability to kill/hurt/fight the ones who hunt them. Rain Deer, on the other hand, are noticeably larger, and is the only creature in the entirety of Rain World that is meant to occupy the spot of the 'large non-carnivore that doesn't really get preyed on by anything, due to its immense size and strength' (sort of like an elephant or whale). This actually is a very important spot, and there isn't a single other creature in the entirety of the game that occupies it, save for maaaayyyybe Void Worms. (Who are not really part of the ecosystem to begin with, while all the other large creatures are vicious predators, which wouldn't really work in the real world. But RW has a couple key differences that make it believable, contrary to what some critics of the game's ecosystem might claim. I won't elaborate on that under this reblog, but I absolutely could, if any of you would wish me to)
Anyhow, because of this, Rain Deer are kind of a necessity, whether we like it or not. Their absence would create a large hole that the devs would need to fill in with something similar, otherwise, it would really end up feeling as if something is missing. Because of this, you would think that they're absolute fan favorites, due to how much flavor they add to the game. But unfortunately, this is where their gameplay purpose comes in. You see, when you grab into other 'helper creatures', you might experience a couple potential downsides, but one key factor remains - which is that ultimately, you're the one in control. This is not true for Rain Deer, and it has created lots of frustrations amongst many players who attempted to cross Farm Arrays, including myself. These creatures aren't impossible to utilize/cooperate with, but it can be finnicky, and quite luck based, at times.
It's frankly one of the less fun parts of this game, and to add insult to injury, reaching the Subterranean karma gate is basically impossible without their aid (and let's not even talk about that red pearl, in the bottom of the region…). Because of this, I actually only tend to utilize Farm Arrays as a connecting point between Outskirts and Sky Islands, as traversing from one to the other requires 0 Rain Deer usage. Not to mention, that Downpour added Pipeyard to every campaign, meaning that you basically never actually need to cross FA to reach Sub (as Sky Islands is connected to Pipeyard, Outskirts is connected to Drainage System, and the other regions are quite far from FA anyway, so you basically always have alternatives).
And so, 'dislike' would really be the most appropriate vote from me, except that Downpour/Remix actually changed some things for the better here. Yeah, they have a tendency to sit in place for a while, but the ability to turn them around as they're walking is actually incredibly good. Many cycles where these creatures would have completely screwed over me - have been turned around completely, just because of this one new mechanic. It actually made the creature feel... dare I say, somewhat nice to use, once you get the hang of it. Sure, it isn't perfect, but you can count on it way more than you ever could before.
So my final decision is to go with 'mixed feelings'. Sure, they've caused me (and many others) a ton of pain, but they're also a very important part of the game, more so than most other creatures. The thing is that they're only in present one small region that is completely optional for everyone except Hunter, yet they still managed to leave such a strong impression on the community… it really says a lot, and frankly, I would miss them if they were to be removed. And looking at the results of this poll, I'm certain that most of you would, too.

Round 3 starts tommorrow!
With that said i need to add here a lil update: i will be out of town on a convention on 14 and 15. This won't affect the poll much, i did my best to make some polls before hand and schedule them on these days + a day before and after, so i can prepare and unwind with no worries. But what it means is that we will have ony one poll a day this weekend, i won't be able to add winners on those days on the poll next day and i might not be able to anwser slughunters during that time. I'm so sorry, i know that it's not the best, especially since we just had a week long break on the poll.
Also update for slug hunters: day 161 slug has been found by bonniesband! Congrats again 🎉

Round 4 starts tommorrow!
Okay so we have the structure of the polls plus minus gotten, but i do worry that with 10 room polls and 5 highest voted ones going through, we will have like 2 or 3 rooms that will have the same prenetange but only one or two of them can go on. So in that case i will make a small seprate poll in the morning after the specific poll ends, to make only the planned amount of rooms go through.
