Because I was just reminded of this, friendly reminder that crappy doodles are acceptable offerings (at least, in my practice, and I feel that others may find that helpful.)

I did this for Loki, mostly, but also anyone else who wanted it since most of my deities are associated with snakes. I'm not good at art- that's not self deprecation, I'm okay not being good at art, it's literally just... I'm not good at it because I don't have the time nor energy to practice more than once or twice a year when the stars are fuckin' aligned. I don't remember how long this took, but definitely longer than you think. And that's okay! It's a cute lil noodle for my deities and that's all it needs to be <3

(think thats the term?) hes literally me but he gets sucked in a few yrs prior to the game events, becomes durge + invents guns (not necessarily in that order) n then loses his memory. sucks man!

so my setup is basically- a touchscreen laptop that can folds all the way which i folded in half, keyboard bc I can't use the laptop's, a mobile stylus bc the one that came with the laptop is already broken and those are cheaper, homestuck for fans by fans mousepad that's way too big, some fabric folded in half on the mousepad bc my wrist hurts, a mouse that can't even scroll (waiting to buy a new one)

a few days ago half my keys suddenly stopped working on my laptop so i was stuck unable to get past the start-up log-in screen, and ofc i discovered that the screen brightener key doesn't work but the screen dimmer key does, and bc i was using my laptop late the night before i was already on the dimmest setting before blacking out the screen entirely, so now it's just entirely unusable. AND OFC i forgot my laptop can fold backwards into a tablet which surely at least has a touchscreen keyboard, but again now it's too late bc my screen is blacked out. haha. so i'm mobile locked until i can look into getting this fixed.

Omg i am working on so many unfinished projects at once bc the adhd will not let me stay focused on just one:

Yesterday i crocheted a top hat for molly and had a little photo shoot (will upload pics to his blog soon) it was adorable. I guess the "project" is that i plan on making more hats and making it a series

I am trying to start drawing again bc i always loved it. My idea was to decorate my bf's apartment with drawings of places that mean a lot to him back in colombia, since he hasn't been there after leaving 2.5 years ago. Started and am trying to find the time to finish at least 1 of them

Trying to get into digital art, bc my laptop has a really good touchscreen. So far i have drawn a cute tree, but i still have to get used to it

This is technically not a wip since i haven't started but my mom just bought herself a kitchenaid and i am trying to find the time and energy to get back into breadmaking bc i really enjoyed that and so did my mutuals

in primary school (age 10-ish) i remember touch screen technology being the coolest sci-fi thing that was in the near future and i couldn't wait. They soon came out with ipods - which were cool, but not touch screen. In high school folks had indestructible nokia bricks, flip phones, and those keyboard slide phones that looked like mini gaming consoles. i remember the first generation iphone and the first touchscreen ipod around the same time I remember the new (last?) Harry Potter book coming out and lunchtime was weirdly quiet because everyone had their noses in the book wanting to finally read the story but also wanting to finish first. i remember bringing high school assignments into school on floppy disks - we're talking mid 2000s - because usb drives were quite new and too expensive. not many people had touch phones by the time i finished high school but if they did you knew their families were rich. only rich families and tech-loving people had ipads. laptops were still expensive and not something every student had, again just the rich folk and computer science kids. i remember going for walks wearing a certain hoodie/cardigan with a pocket big enough to hold my CD Walkman. i remember walking to my local video rental store - Blockbuster or Video Ezy or that independant place that had the coolest vibes - years before i could drive to rent part 1 of a tv series, season 1 part 1 with the first 4 of 12 episodes in one dvd case. i remember not being allowed to rent ma15+ or r18 movies. i remember having to do battle around the tv at certain times bc different family members wanted to watch different things and we only had one tv - a staticky, bulbous thing, not a flat screen and not a smart tv bc they didn't exist yet - bc there were no streaming services in australia yet - ipads still weren't really an affordable thing yet so people watched dvd movies on desktop computers and laptops and portable dvd players and dvd players plugged into these non-smart tvs. 

i remember finding the workarounds to burn dvds. i remember whittling down playlists to fit music onto burned blank cds. i remember refusing to pay $2.99 for a song on itunes and instead browsing the sales at the local Sanity or JBHIFI store for certain artists compilation albums and unfolding the poster art to pin to my wall or read through the lyrics booklet. i remember the old printers that were slower but didn't rely on wifi and bluetooth and they always worked. i remember the cosmic screech of dial-up noise on the landline phone - yeah the one attached to the wall and with a curly cord connecting the reciever - if someone was using the internet. i remember MySpace and its customisation long before Facebook took on and eventually became the untraversable hellscape it is today. i remember Youtube before the ads. i remember the early days of social media and as everything got good for a while before they all started emulating the censorship shitstain that is Tiktok. i remember playing snake on my Nokia brick and the ringtones made via button tones.

i remember roadtrips of gazing out the window long before parents gave an ipad to each kid in the back seat. i remember bringing physical books on roadtrips and long train trips bc smartphones and ipads didn't exist or, again, were only for the rich families. i remember LayBy being a very grown up thing for people with credit cards (re:parents) long before Afterpay existed. i remember using cash to pay for everything including bus fare when i forgot my paper school pass that lived in that little wallet with the plastic window. i remember using a payphone to call friends and home because i ran out of texting credit. i remember waiting to be picked up from an after school sport of weekend game by a parent with a previously agreed upon time and place bc i didn't have a mobile phone. i remember pocket-sized digital cameras and memory cards. i remember when GoPro became a thing. i remember going somewhere new for the first time and not knowing much about it bc Googling It wasn't always possible - we got our information from stories and visitor brochures bc few places had websites let alone social media pages and you couldn’t look them up online if you were on the road. 

i remember yearning for the near future where personal tech became real and then accessible; but personal tech has brought problems along with its entertainment value and multi-tool features. i remember feeling lonely and broken as a kid and a teenager bc i didn’t have access to online communities; but online is still no replacement for irl social interaction. i remember wishing there was more media for my interests and relatability; and now i’m flooded with choice in numerous streaming services that promote bingeing (fast! now! consume!) while mistreating creators and hoarde content to hoarde gold. i remember wondering how other people lived their lives day-to-day bc i was curious and bc i needed hope that i wasn’t alone but also that it could get better; now social media is raising generations of young people with neurosis to share every day of their lives and training all generations to consume content in fast-paced bite-size pieces as we doomscroll and numb ourselves to irl experiences. 

i remember all of this and i’m 30 fucking 3 years young.

As I mentioned, I got a new computer. My last one was failing me, and I decided to get a new one that will be easier to game with.

I'll just say: There is So a learning curve for me bc my last two laptops were touchscreen. And I need to RETRAIN myself to operate without that ability. I'm not complaining, I wanted it this way. But it is kind of funny how often I reach for the screen in vain.

I keep seeing commentary videos on stuff people buy.. like an umbrella for your phone, or accessories for some 2000 dollar cup It's a crazy capitalistic world unfortunately Usually id draw on paper w/ pencil, but when I was doing digital art on that ipad for the short amt of time that i did, drew with my finger but i hated it my hand got tired and burned up after some time (but now i draw /w a touchscreen laptop and stylus!!)

I've never watched Death Note, but I guess Ill just say L is my favorite since we share a name (technically) Honestly? my answer is simple w/ what animal Id be Almost ANY cat (not the flatfaced or folded ear ones though they can have some bad health issues :( ) Like if you're a domestic cat, you have the stuff to survive both in the wild, or in someone's house. You have super scenes of smell, night vision, claws, sharp teeth, AND probably enough smarts to not get eaten by dogs or smth. On the other hand with humans, at least 70% of the population would adore you, and maybe even take you in to pamper you. It would be very easy to get them to do your bidding since you'd be just some animal, and perhaps put above your caretaker's needs. Pets? Affection? Just act all adorable and stuff and they'll give it to you, cling on to them and they'll say they're your human now. On the other hand (or paw) there's the wild cats!! Still very cute. Still very cool. Now your defenses are upped by a ton, and people still find you cute. Though with how shitty environmental conditions are, and with the bigger cats slowly going to extinction :( , I may or may not just stick to domestic cats But hypothetically.. It would be neat to be either a snow leopard, tiger, or a jaguar. I love snow leopards for their big fluffy tails, and it would be cool to be able to roam through snow and stuff, but that seems to get a little boring from time to time. Love tigers for their stripes, I don't think they can roar..?? But that doesn't change anything. Think Tigers and Jaguars are both pretty efficient in survival, but I'd pick Jaguar just for their athletics and HUGE bite force (least from my 1st search). Or maybe, maybe not because there's an outfit/skin or two of Valeria's that are based on jaguars.. (or leopards, but ill go w/ jaguars) im obsessed w/ this woman man hdwhadwjadawnk OH ALSO ON THE TOPIC OF BIRDS??? Like yeah sure I may not like you or the opposite, but at least we can co-exist without biting our heads off (unlike the fucking us) and japan seems open to their culture being explored by others, so I'd totally love to (respectfully) participate in some traditions here and there OR I could visit Europe. Like not even a specific country? Just Europe. Cuz the US is like really fucking big, and a country like France is apparently as big as Texas. And it would be cool to take a week trip just exploring cultures and stuff (well everything except food, I'm a terrible picky eater ugh) Vacation in the US scares me tho, I'm fine where I'm at rn Maybe id be a little open to going to canada.. but bc of how they're treating the Palestine genoside rn maybe like later in life if they redeem themselves, but like the us? I feel completely illiterate at points, I really struggle with writing due to dyslexia and I'm way more visual with how I picture scenes. Writing them is more of a task than it should be because I'm sat there with it playing out perfectly in my head but whatever shit is on the page is just a garbled mess of words. There's a scene there but it's not the scene in my head but then I'm also very lazy with art so couldn't possibly draw any of it either lmao

It's such a nuisance bc I know I have good and interesting ideas but I literally can't communicate those ideas effectively
