Oooh hm not to be a copycat but I loved tarquin from the moment he was introduced, he was an instant fav and i was kind of sad that he didn't have more involvement later on that didn't have to do with the whole feyre and rhys betraying his trust thing

ooh i dont know if this is minor enough but i've come to really like jurian. i didn't really have much of an opinion on him for most of the series and then for some reason in silver flames when he was in it for like 2 seconds i was like wait a minute why haven't i been more into this guy he kinda fucks

Favourite court and why?

well i loved the spring court aesthetic from the first book, but at this point in the series I think I'd say maybe actually dawn. it just sounded so pretty, and i think it would be one of the subtler, less overwhelming courts while still being awe-inspiring.

oh shoot um okay court of clouds?? people who specialize in wind manipulation, likely populated by a race related to the Peregryns or Drakon's race? an actual cloud court like in the sky could be a vibe I think. perhaps it would be more removed from the politics of prythian--they'd still have a High Lord, but maybe it would be more of a military government or something.

What relationship would you have wanted to see more of in the books?

oh wow i mean i am always here for more rhys and tamlin content obviously, but i would have also loved to see more of like stories and stuff about the sentries from the spring court that went over the wall, like Andras. andras and lucien's relationship in particular would be one I would have liked to know more about. I also really want to see Azriel and his mom.

What's your unpopular opinion?

god what ISN'T my unpopular opinion. hm. i think feyre's whole reasoning for wanting a baby out of seemingly nowhere is dumb. like i get it, yolo, life can be cut short, but like i really do not feel like she picked a good time to have a baby, nor do i think she is remotely ready to be a mother. when she realized she wanted kids in acofas, it wasn't a strong enough argument for me to actually like get behind her decision.

I know its reiterated a lot but can I just say again how FAST az goes from thinking about elain to switching to gwyn in his bonus chapter lol the moment she's out of the scene and he's not being scolded by rhys, elain's out of his thoughts and he's thinking about gwyn's smile and how happy it would make her to have that necklace 🥴 if I was an e/lriel I'd be feeling pretty Bad about that (which clearly they are which is why they hate gwyn so much and see her as a threat. her smile is a secret thing of lovely beauty) but its funny how they simply don't acknowledge the latter half of his chapter at all and try to convince themselves they're going to have a grand forbidden romance.

And that's the point, isn't it?

Cassian's POV started with thinking about Nesta.....and ended thinking about Nesta.

I realize that the first part of the Az Bonus Chapter felt like validation for E/riels because it is confirmation. But the only thing it's truly confirmation of is that Elain and Az wanted to kiss. We still don't know why because physical attraction and only physical attraction (especially on her end) is a completely real possibility. SHE could simply be trying to forget her troubles just as Nesta did with all those other males.

I think Az not giving a future with Elain thought beyond his sexual fantasies is also proof that he's not really invested in Elain for the right (or at least lasting) reasons either but I know some in the fandom argue that point.

But what can't be denied is that he left the River House in a shitty mood but ended his bonus chapter feeling better after having spent time with another female, thinking of another female and that is the part I think we're supposed to be paying attention to.

And what is sometimes overlooked is that Az isn't even calling Gwyn's smile a thing of secret lovely beauty. Az isn't focused on Gwyn's appearance right now (which is a good thing because the guy needs to stop lusting after hot women and start focusing on their personalities. It is canon that Gwyn is beautiful but as Az seems to have a problem with looking beyond Elain's face to actually grasp who she's growing into and that she's more than a pretty little doll to keep safe, his noting Gwyn's charming irreverence and how far she's come is so much more important than him saying, "check out the hot red head").

Az is not thinking of Gwyn as or her smile as being the thing of secret lovely beauty.

The AUTHOR is telling us that the image of Gwyn's happiness that made Az smile which he then tucked away in his subconscious (because I don't think he's truly ready to think about what that could possibly mean) is the thing to focus on, the secret. A secret for the readers.

Why is it a secret thing?

Because what is proven in his bonus chapter is that Az desperately wants his own mate. But he's fixated on Elain and not truly ready to deal with his past with Mor. And as a result, he's kind of clueless as to what could be standing right in front of him.

If Az had really taken the time to reflect on why the thought of Gwyn's happiness brought him so much happiness, (a female he's not even friends with yet) he might have started to put that puzzle together but he's a blind man right now because he's too wrapped up in wanting the wrong things for the wrong reasons.

SJM is telling the readers that the reason for Az feeling happy over the thought of Gwyn's happiness is the the thing of secret lovely beauty and that thing is most likely the mating bond. Az is clueless right now but she's telling us to sit up and pay attention because the simple act of him gifting her the necklace and the way it lit him up inside is going to be important to future books. Something Az himself will finally figure out in his own book.

So the problem here is not only Eluciens twisting canon ( like We Know Who) to convince themselves or anyone that "actually lucien does this and that for her, he is so kind and considerate and elain talked to him that one time!" which for me just read like a typical crackship and desperation to connect straws, not even a ship because with a potential couple there's ATLEAST a friendship, attraction or tension between them (like we've seen in any acotar couple) and guess what? You’re confusing eluciens with the Gwynriels who went rabid because they don’t want elain with their soft boy azriel. That’s not actual eluciens

Eluciens like Lucien. And think that Elain is his property because of the bond and therefore, must 'give him a chance' and should accept the bond, so he doesn't suffer, doesn't go crazy, and doesn't hurt forever if she rejects him.

Never have I ever seen anyone say that Elain's feeling should be considered. That her being silent, not giving him attention or promises, and losing her newfound boldness around him is enough. That a woman isn't obligated to talk to a man and explain herself and explain why she isn't interested. A woman isn't obligated to let a man down 'gently'. A woman doesn't have to submit to courting simply because a man wants her to.

If people wholeheartedly state that Mor doesn't owe Azriel an explanation for 500 years, that she has no obligation to tell him anything including a simple 'I am not interested', then why is Elain obligated to do that for Lucien? She is not interested in the bond, didn't ask for it, and is attracted to another man. That's it. Lucien doesn't get an explanation, because he is Lucien. Does Lucien come to Elain and explain to her why he is living with Vassa? Has Lucien, who is hundreds of years older than Elain and is a born Fae, not a 2 year old Fae, propose that they sit down and chat? No, he is playing the avoidance game just as much as Elain. Yet that's totally fine for him, but she is a 'bitch'.

Not violently hating Elain and wanting her to get r*ped and decapitated like Gwynriels wish, is not the same as 'liking' Elain.
