i feel sooo dumb asking this but how do u make the text a color gradient on ur posts / a color you actually want?? i feel like the colors we have available are soooo drab

this is gonna be really long bc i wanna be as transparent & as helpful as possible so be warned pfftttjsfhdjh

but yes i so agree w/ you that the very minuscule, very . . . neon . . . colours aren’t really to my tastes either T^T so for colour picking i normally find a picture to use for a general ~vibe~ ( ie. the gif in my pinned, i took a still and uploaded it to this website [https://imagecolorpicker.com] & individually picked a light to dark green gradient i was happy with ^^ )

however you could also generate a gradient you’d like from this website [https://coolors.co] & randomize it until you get a colour scheme you fw (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)

oooooor you could just manually go through various pinks, blues, greens and purples on this website [https://htmlcolorcodes.com/color-names/] & pick a light to dark gradient all by yourself ദ്ദി ��͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ 

as for actually colouring the text, this website has been my holy grail for like a year now [https://www.stuffbydavid.com/textcolorizer] and it’s v straightforward. just input what your text is in the textbox, pick the gradient effect ( for my post I used the three coloured gradient ) , input the hex codes of the colours you selected going from light to dark ( or vice versa if you wish )

do not bother with anything from “step 4”, look at the preview of the text and if you’re happy with it , copy the entire box from the HTML code section.

then you’re gonna open tumblr and create a new post but instead of directly pasting it on, you have to click the gear icon on the top right to toggle settings and go to text editor and click the ‘HTML’ option which will bring you to the coding ( i think ? T^T )

& that’s where you’ll want to paste what you copied earlier , and if you don’t want to change the font you can click “preview” and see if you’re happy w/ it & save the draft and add to your post as normal once you toggle back to "rich text".

& the final result should look like this : haiiiii :3

however, if you are like me, and want that extra little flourish, you can literally just search up " font copy and paste " and like go to the first site or wtv & type in your text and copy the font you wish.

however it gets a little convoluted and time consuming in regards to pasting it (if you use a gradient), because you have to individually replace each standard font letter with the desired font letter like so until the entire word is replaced w/ ur desired font ^^

& the final result should look like this : 𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒊𝒊𝒊𝒊 :3

but, if you only do a solid colour it's much easier to replace the text as in the html side it'll look like " <span style='color:#DB7093;'>haiiiii :3</span> " & you can easily replace the whole text [ in this example "haiiiii :3" ] in just one easy paste [ with "𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐢𝐢𝐢𝐢 :3" in its stead ]

ALSO ! my biggest tip would be to make two separate drafts bc it gets so confusing for me personally when i see the coding for the large text wall on the rest of my post. so what i do is just make a separate draft of the coloured text, copy the final result then paste it onto the draft i'll actually post ₍ ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎

very slight disclaimer though, i majority use tumblr/format my posts on the desktop version, so i'm not entirely sure if this is applicable on mobile ( in regards to the html toggle on tumblr ). regardless i hope this was straightforward & easy to follow nonnie ,, here's to gracing tumblr w/more visually appealing posts 2025 o( >  ᗜ  < )o ₊˚⊹ ᰔ

Why do you hate the Loki series I’m genuinely interested

OH BOY HERE WE GO. I didn't watch season 2 so just note that.

I'll shorten it cause I'm on mobile and I really can't type as much as usual but if you look it up on my account there's some complaining somewhere

1. Horrible characterisation

As a long time Loki fan BC of his character, since I'm not one of them horny bastards (respect y'all but not me), it was literally a disgrace. The producer didn't know much about him and it showed. The writing team made it clear they had your average annoying base level interpretation that he's full of himself, self obsessed, etc. And again it showed. Obviously if you watch thor 1 it's obvious that isn't true, the self importance is an act to cover up a lottttt of insecurity. They also made them kinda wimpy at times too? And I can't understand why. Trust me if you followed those morons on twitter around 2021 it was rage inducing .

2. Sylvie.

As a comics fan, Sylvie is literally an abomination . She's a terrible mashup of Sylvie lushton, Amora, and fem presenting Loki. I'll come back to that last one. Her romantic role in the story could have been covered by Amora, and have another version as a variant, much like agent of Asgard, a comic which delved into some similar topics muchhhh better. Plus, Sylvie lushton is like. Resented. Why would you add her into the mix.

3. Genderfluid rep

Ok this one hit harder cause I identified as that back then. So anyway, comics Loki is genderfluid. Explicitly. Again, agent of Asgard handles this well. Prior to the show, the producers did say there would be representation of this. The representation in question turned out to be splitting boy Loki and girl Loki into two people and making them kiss. Which was weird and obviously not representation, especially when all the variants were like shock !! Horror!!! Surprise!!! Upon finding out there's a girl version. Also a couple of my mutuals had this happen to them personally and observed it on tiktok, genderfluid ppl getting weird ass comments under their videos about selfcest like bruh 😭😭

A few more minor gripes with plot holes and the crappy bi rep but overall those were my main issues with it. Wow I wrote more than I thought i would.

Basically the only thing I liked was Owen Wilson and the soundtrack. Natalie Holt is the fucking best she named the song when Sylvie and Loki kissed 'stop' and she named one of the songs lokius which is Loki and Mobius ship name 😭😭 literal icon

So I’ll offer some of my thoughts in a sec, but also here’s a link to some videos that might help you out too. They’re from Coleydoesthings on YouTube and she has many more videos about AO3, fandom, etc. She’s awesome, highly recommend

Some general AO3 tagging tips from me (and others feel free to add on!):

- Biggest mistake you want to avoid is the difference between putting a slash between names and putting “and” or “&” between names. Maybe you’ve seen this one before bc Tumblr but the slash means your story features the characters as a romantic and/or sexual couple, whereas the “and” means they’re platonic or friends.

Ex: Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase = these two as a romantic couple. Tim Drake and Jason Todd = these two as either friends or brothers or something just as platonic.

- The use of the characters’ full names connected with either / or & will typically get better results on AO3 than their ship names, though this could vary by fandom and you can always put the ship name anyway.

Ex: I got a lot more results searching for “Dick Grayson/Wally West” rather than “birdflash”.

- I’m honestly never sure how to quantify the ratings (General, Teen, Mature, Explicit) but basically Mature is where you start to see more sexual content. The two below that probably don’t.

- I know there IS a limit to how many tags you can put on a fic but idk what it is and it’s like A LOT. Whether you use a lot of tags or just the bare minimum is up to personal preference. Personally, I usually use the important ones first (character relationships, type of fic content, any triggers, etc.) then maybe one or two funny ones (“I wrote this sleep deprived”, “No beta we die like”)

- “Creator choose not to use archive warnings” can be used for that literal purpose, not wanting to put a warning, OR it means that whatever you’re warning for isn’t covered by the warnings already there. In that case, I would put whatever it is in the regular tags in case people want to avoid it (like tagging trigger warnings on Tumblr)

- Most parts of AO3 system, if you hover over the icon or click it will give you a chart/overview of what certain items mean. So if you want more detail on the ratings/warnings you can!

- Check out the filtering system. When you do a search, you can select certain tags to include or exclude in your search, and knowing that can sometimes help with your own tags

- There are 4 main tag categories: warnings, character names, relationships/ships, and additional tags. The first three are self-explanatory, the fourth is for fic content/type (hurt/comfort, sick fic, hugs, character study, etc.) and funny or really specific tags.

- Like on Tumblr, some fandoms have really fandom specific tags which usually pop up as you’re typing them in, but if not you can always add it anyway and make it a tag. My favorite recently has been Bruce Wayne is a Good Parent, bc I’m a sucker for Batman actually being a good dad

- I highly recommend using a laptop/desktop for posting. AO3 does great on mobile just for scrolling and searching, but if you want to post use a computer of some kind

- Drafts are only temporarily saved on AO3, and there’s no guarantee that if some big system crash were to happen you’d get your stuff back. So have everything saved on something else like Google Drive or whatever you use

- Take a look at fics you like and see how those writers tagged things!

Honestly I’m starting to realize that a lot of it overlaps with tagging on Tumblr so there’s that lol you’ve got a good start

The “default” verse for my roleplay, unless stated otherwise. Thanks to the help of Moxxi and the Vault Hunters, he was able to flee from that golden Jack-shaped prison and try to search a new place where he could start over and finally live his own life, even if having the voice and appearances (and also DNA) of a deceased dictator will not make it easy. To overcome all of this and the traumas he suffered, Timothy will need time…but now he finally has all the time he needs. Free. (small note: for this verse, Tim got a new hand thanks to FL4K building it like they do for their pets)

Borderlands 2 - Still a Doppelganger

After the events of Pre-Sequel and before the death of Handsome Jack, a sort of AU where he didn’t get sent to the Jackpot and continues acting as a double for Jack. He was branded, dons the mask, and he’s the firts of the doubles…the other double (mostly pocket-watch doubles) consider him being the “favourite” since he’s the first one, but he suffers the same consequences - or probably worse - as the others if he stumbles upon the wrath of Jack. He doesn’t like having to continue being a double, but what other option there is for someone like him?

Post-TPS/early BL2 and after - Timothy the Renegade

Another sort of AU. After the events of TPS and after the branding, Timothy finally finds the courage to flee from Jack and Hyperion. Faking to being busy with some business for Jack on Concordia, he stops by Nurse Nina to get the infamous bomb out of his body and remove the clasps of the mask (the surgeries were irreversible but at least those things where fixable) - paying well to ensure that she’ll never tell that he has been there - and defects on Pandora. The best way to hide something, sometimes is in plain sight. Also, no one would notice someone that keeps his face hidden between all the masked bandits that live on that planet. There, he lives as a bounty hunter and by not staying too long on the same place.

His hair is kept long, in a low ponytail, the scarred face usually his hidden with goggles and a scarf, the voice is changed through a modulator that keeps hidden under the scarf. Tim still has the watch with his diji-jacks, he was able to alter their code so Jack couldn’t use the watch to track him down nor control it, and also made them able to mimic his disguise so they won’t out his identity. No more silly one-liners, their AI was improved after the Elpis’ events.

ooof and more swerve introspection. i mentioned earlier but i fucking LOVE how this series showcases the extremely wide range of reactions/coping mechanisms that everyone has towards the endless war finally being over - and swerve really nails it here: confusing peace with happiness, and assuming that everything would automatically be better after the war is over, when in reality you still have to work just as hard to build shit rather than break it

also i adore the horror of a guy who is half-embedded in the wall, his face stuck in a rictus of terror & death, waxing philosophical about how peace is about the freedom of choice, and how they should all just feel lucky to have survived...oof, that's very specifically ironic coming from you, dude 

but i do love the little characterization we get here for ore, a character who is literally already dead and has so far been used as a plot device pretty exclusively, but we still get to know little things about him here, and how HE feels about the war and the current peace, etcetc. it really makes the story and characters seem believable, like every character has a story even if we don't take the time to see it

and drift and ratchet’s very opposing and polarizing views certainty do make for interesting perspectives, tho i feel like the story sometimes leans too much towards ratchet being ‘more correct’ bc, logic! or something idk i feel like i used to have a couple mild opinions on this but i don't remember

and its funny bc i am, irl, an atheistic medical professional who believes in science above all else - essentially just like ratchet. but i feel like the narrative portrayal skews a little more in his favor than i’d like, despite that

anyways - the annual! i love this issue. its really long which is cool and i feel like it does a lot to flesh out the setting and lore, and even the characters as well. also, as i said above, it does an excellent job telling an exciting and well-contained story, with solid story beats throughout and plot threads that emerge and get resolved all within this issue, even while leaving plenty of stuff up for future resolution. that's the Early MTMTE Special, and i adore it. tho i will say I'm glad we’ll be getting back to the regularly scheduled art style, bc this one didn't really do it for me

the empress and emperor of korea had 5 kids, 4 daughters, 1 pampered son and evie was the second oldest daughter after dianna but like, she’s bossy and high strung and acts like the oldest anywayS so it doesn’t matter!

during her time at boarding school evie was expected to not learn much of anything, not do anything spectacular, she wasn’t expected very good grades or to be smart or successful or anything bc that was Men’s Work and so evie did . . . THE EXACT OPPOSITE.

evie EXCELLED in school, straight a’s, top of her class, honors, ap valedictorian, which meant all nighters, nose bleeds at 2am from studying too hard, looking dead walking through the hallways, eating ramen 25/8, falling asleep w her face in her textbooks, getting bullied a lot for being a nerd and Not looking like her sisters and like...the creature from the black lagoon.

her parents, understandably, were not very happy with this but it wasn’t until she wanted to go to medical school that her parents were like FURIOUS. to them, women, esp the princesses, were only supposed to get married, have kids, THAT WAS IT. so evie wanting to be a doctor enraged them. STAY MAD!

they tried to have her engaged SO. MANY. TIMES. but she has a really repellent personality, she’s very kat stratford from 10 things i hate about you. and is rude and states her very liberal very socialist opinions often, dresses sloppy and hurts mens feelings a lot just for fun so they all went rUNNING from those match appointments! her parents literally are losing their minds they don’t know what to do w her theyre like god why did we give birth to the aNTICHRIST!?!?!?

not wanting anything to do with her parents, evie got into college and medical student on scholarship based on her own merit and skill. evie went to the seoul national university for 4 years then did a 2 year residency at the country’s top hospital, becoming one of the best on call heart surgeons there.

the korean media likes to clown on her A LOT! bc shes scary and angry and cares very little abt her appreance is A DOCTOR and not a princess really for the opposite reason they clown on dianna but evie does not really care she doesn’t care abt impressing people, just saving lives and proving people wrong. finger guns

but yes! thats what u missed on glee. evie was a heart surgeon in korea before being shipped off to thailand! shes v salty by the way ... even more than usual.

The day my mom died, I was driving home from my boyfriend's house. He lives about an hour and a half North from me. I was listening to musicals and Requiem from Dear Evan Hansen came on. For whatever reason while singing along I was thinking about my mom being the one to die and me being mad at her. There was a whole montage of my siblings and I cleaning out her desk at work and me just being angry.

Her body was still slightly warm when I found her, and I've always had the gut feeling that she had died during that song.

That day caused two triggers in me. One being that song, obviously. The second being me thinking about someone's death/what I would do or how I would react. That sounds silly, right? Of course thinking of someone's death and how you would react would make anyone feel bad. But it's more along the lines of- I feel like if I think of someone's death, it's GOING to happen and it's going to be my fault.

It's ridiculous but sometimes I imagine that if I didn't hear that song/have such strong feelings about my mom's death during that drive home, she wouldn't have actually died. I know that's not how it works, I'm well aware of that. But it's just how my brain decided it is.

Anyways this was all brought up bc my boyfriend is driving his parents to the airport right now and I couldn't sleep so I sent him a text reminding him to be safe. He didn't read it before the time he said he'd leave and I had the thought of "well he better not die during this drive or else I'd be super upset that he never read my text and have one of those 'well if he had just read my text he'd still be alive' complex's for the rest of my life". And then I was reminded of the whole "oh no I killed my mom by thinking about her death, I'm about to kill my boyfriend." And I started freaking out and trying to manifest good thoughts about him making it safely and me giving him a big hug when he gets here and everything being okay, but I was already sobbing at this point bc I just KNEW that it was too late and that I totally killed him.

And then I remembered that we have our locations shared with each other for this exact reason and being able to watch his little icon move safely along the little freeway map is actually very soothing.

Anyways... That's that. Tears are dry, breathing is normal, I have not manifested my boyfriend's death bc he's going to show up in like 3 hours and I'm gonna be able to give him a big old hug and then we're gonna go to sleep and in like 8 hours when we wake up I'll sheepishly inform him that I haven't finished packing and he'll shrug and say, "I'd offer to help but we both know how particular you are about your stuff." And I'll say "This is true, can you make breakfast instead?" And he'll say "sure what do you want?" And I'll say "the blood of my enemies" and he'll say "so... Cereal or chicken nuggets?" And I'll say "cereal please, there's cinnamon Life at the bottom of the pantry" and it'll be great
