more dynamics i need to see in st5 for my mental wellbeing

1. el and dustin. that’s it send post. they were genuinely so sweet in season 1 and i miss their mad scientist/test subject vibe immensely. i know el and lucas are going to be paired up this season because of their shared connection (polyamory) to max, but i would love to see more scenes between dustin and el— maybe some lighthearted bonding over their matching leg injuries or daddy issues.

2. mike and robin. i don���t think you understand i need this like i need air. will has already had his gay awakening he doesn’t need a queer life coach!! mike on the other hand is out here in the TRENCHES. this man is down critically horrendously morifyingly BAD for will but is convinced el needs him and that will could never reciprocate his feelings. he needs robin’s gay intuition and advice if anyone does.

3. steve and jonathan. HELLO??? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELLO???? i know this is pretty much guaranteed to happen in st5 because full-circle character development and hammering in themes and blah blah blah but i’m still gonna talk about it because listen. steve got his shit rocked by jonathan one (1) time and immediately decided “fuck my idiot friends” developed a moral conscience and SHOWED UP AT HIS HOUSE to apologize. he wasn’t there for nancy he had no idea nancy was there!!! he bought jonathan a new camera!!! he was so respectful of nancy and jon even when nancy dumped his ass a season later!!! yet we never get closure between him and jonathan or even a conversation and i’m PISSED about it. matt and ross duffer rectify this or else.

4. hopper and jonathan and will. you see the vision. these kids have never had a stable father figure who truly understands them (i love bob but he was only there for st2 and was sweet but naive) and everything they’ve been through. jonathan DESPERATELY needs to be de-parentified and released from the emotional burden of constantly putting will and joyce before his own needs and dreams, and hopper desperately needs to feel like he can protect his family instead of “cursing” them. will needs a loving father figure who supports his queer identity, and hopper only had a fire lit under him in s1 when joyce mentioned it could have been a hate crime. this is like textbook recipe for healing and closure for these characters.

5. joyce and karen? i just think it would be neat. we know karen’s getting more involved this season and i think she should get to be a little gay for joyce as a treat. we had crumbs of their dynamic in s1 and on a more sincere note i honestly think joyce could help give karen the courage to leave ted or demand better from him moving forward.

6. nancy and mike. if they don’t have a genuine conversation i’ll actually be fuming raging pulling my hair out. i get it i get that they’re both emotionally repressed but GOD i wish we had more moments with them talking about their trauma or empathizing with each other’s survivor’s guilt and crippling savior complexes. all the “max and mike are the same character in a different font” business is very valid and i agree madwheeler is like ten shots of espresso injected directly into the bloodstream HOWEVER, nancy and mike’s traumas and emotional issues are so so similar please let them talk about it!!!!

7. steve and robin???? please for the love of god????? literally what the fuck was happening in s4 they were NOT given enough screentime together. not cool. i want them BACK on their queerplatonic bullshit in s5, fully codependent disgustingly clingy like god intended.

8. jonathan and el. i just want them to be siblings together!!! we got a lot of willel sibling vibes in s4 and some sweet jon-and-will moments, but i would love for them to delve into jonathan and el’s dynamic. this girl is a big reason why will was saved in s1 and we just… never really see the byerses address that? jonathan has a lottt of self-blaming tendencies when it comes to will and i’d love for el to help remind him he isn’t responsible for protecting and saving his brother all the time. conversely, i’d love for jonathan to remind el that she’s just a kid and that the weight of the world shouldn’t be on her shoulders. they’re both really soft-spoken and sweet characters with hard veneers and i feel like they’d pair well together for more emotional scenes.

9. literally the entire byers-hopper family they are the heart and soul of the show and i will never forgive the duffer brothers for losing that in s3-4 in favor of expanding the scope of the story. i miss them.

10. steve and el. i would maim and kill for this dynamic actually. both of them are involved in love triangles and have arcs centered around independency and platonic/found familial love, and steve has his whole mom-of-the-group shtick that could be really endearing paired with el’s plucky weird-little-girl vibe. idk i just think they would be a cute team, maybe paired with dustin or lucas.

11. stoncy and robin. literally give me this team or give me death. i miss stoncy’s iconic end-of-season-1 monster-hunting trio dynamic SO MUCH i would give anything for them to go on a sidequest and really just hash it all out with each other. and robin could offer steve moral support and comic relief— while we’re on the subject i would also kill to see her and jonathan interact!! like they are so similar in that brooding-noncomformist way and i feel like they would either immediately gravitate toward each other based on values OR immediately clash due to their personality differences. jonathan is all quiet and avoidant and robin can be… A Lot (said with love) when she’s not masking like s3. i just think they’d be funny together.

at first i was really shocked by will going up to mike and kissing him like that so i thought back to the entire chapter to see if there were signs that will was going to do that and i feel like there were actually SO MANY SIGNS that mike just didn’t notice (hence: unreliable narrator mike) mike just is so oblivious hahaha

like will being so crabby the entire time in my head is bc mike is like actually being so nice and on his best behavior and like. that’s so annoying for will. he like… cleans the entire cabin without asking?? terrible. spends the first night reading with his cute lil glasses and his cute lil book? infuriating. doesn’t complain about his asthma but then when he’s better after practically dying asks if will’s hungry?!?!? who does he think he is?? and then of course the whole leaning-against-the-doorframe and walking-around-shirtless and fingers-touching-at-the-mess-hall bahahaha will was a pining mess that entire time and was so mad about it i cannot express how hilarious that is to me

for some reason i’m definitely imagining will’s last convo before being sent to the isolation cabin being with someone who may have insinuated that will and mike have more then just hateful tension between them 👀 which initially made will super pissed but then opened his mind to more realizations

i would like to start off this reply by saying i love that you referred to this chapter as an episode. they are also like little episodes to me, playing out in my little brain. <3

when i tell you we were all so chuffed to receive this ask and have you point all of those things out because yes. YES!!!!!!!!!! we're achieving what we have set out to do!!!!!!! they are both so unreliable and oblivious in their own heads but communicating through action pretty clearly!!

also that is absolutely definitely part of the reason will is so crabby!!!!!!! it's a couple of things, which were referenced so briefly in the narrative: max is pretty annoyed at him, and they're not speaking, so he's upset over that. justin is also completely understandably upset with him, and will thinks highly of justin in that he thinks he's a genuinely nice guy, so he's feeling guilty about that. hopper is disappointed, campers are pointing and laughing at them, mike is being this Perfect Model Camper now, and he just realizes his part in getting this to blow up and he's feeling embarrassed and ashamed by it. + mike was reading the night before the kiss and kept the light on then, too, which made it hard for will to fall asleep, and he is actually fr tired when ~flickergate~ starts (i did not come up with this someone else said it and i need to dig back through comments across all 3 of our platforms to find out who and give them credit LOL), which is also part of the reason why he promptly falls asleep after. mike kissing his neck is what did him in -- he didn't have to put any energy into contributing and therefore was basically lulled into sleep. we love a sleepy king <3

also YES!!!!!!! they have kissed before!!!!!!!!!!! we are going to release an official timeline at some point today so that we can update it as we reveal more things, but also so that you can track the revelations thus far!!!

Me: how I would make Melven work in the context of the show without causing Will to be heartbroken, a hypothesis;

(Disclaimer - I am byler endgame truther and this is just to show that melvin most likely has been written to not work lol)

Season 1 - Will has a crush on Mike at the start, but Will goes missing and Mike meets (and subsequently hyperfixates on) El, cause autism and he’s-just-like-me-fr-disorder, where he gets his ‘hero worship’ out of the way and gets over it pretty quickly when he sees how El being a superhero literally resulted in her ‘death’. But he’s got Will back, and he’s happy about that. Mike was obsessed with being the first to get a girlfriend out of his friend group because he’s the most insecure about that (semi canon), that he tried to project that on to El but she was just super confused. “Will you be like my brother?”

Season 2 - before Will’s crush/feelings for Mike have a chance to get stronger/more like love (which I believe they start to do in season 2, when mike refuses to leave his side and seems to reciprocate), they need to not go through Will’s possession side by side. In this version, El flees Hopper’s cabin earlier on (so she can still have her s2 independence arc), to meet her sister (same circumstances as before, she argues with hopper, finds the box of information about the lab, meets her mom, goes to the city etc). Instead of a vision of Mike making her go home, it’s a vision of Will being possessed by the mind flayer. It’s already been shown by this point that they have some kind of connection in season 1, so she’s immediately concerned and needs to go back to help. So, instead of Mike refusing to leave, El is the one banging on the Byers’ door and begging to help Will because she saw a shadow monster attack him. So season 2 is where things really change, and El doesn’t have time now to obsess over romance movies or Mike, she’s got Will to look after. This is where the WillEl bond begins. At the dance, Will and el dance together platonically, and Mike sits alone, still girlfriendless and now all his friends seem to have beaten him in that department, which leads to…

Season 3 - Dustin has a girlfriend. Max and Lucas are still together, and Will and el are the terrible two, almost like inseparable twins, whispering to each other and playing pranks with El’s powers, and it pisses Mike off. Who does she think she is?! Stealing his bff and now she’s corrupting him? So Mike directs his annoyance at El, and it’s actually mike that ends up begging everyone to play dnd because everything is changing and he hates change cause autism and it’s all El and Max’s fault, he hates them so much! One day it’s raining and he confronts el about it, the classic ‘pick on the girl you have a crush on in the playground’ kinda stuff. After that, she ends up going off with Will and Max to figure out all that stuff with Billy and that ends up playing out pretty much the same way (plus Will). When they are all together in the hospital, Will and El are sat together sharing M&Ms. El is understandably annoyed at Mike, but he has since had some time to calm down and goes over to her to apologise. Will is reluctant to leave them alone, mostly as El had confided in Will (who, during their heart to heart, had admitted that he likes boys) about how Mike had really upset her (they had been good friends when they met and he had really helped her, so she is upset that he is mad at her for apparently no reason), but El signals to him that it’s ok. Mike apologises, she shares her M&Ms with him, and they seem to both show signs that they have a genuine crush on each other. During the Mall stuff, when they’re sitting together in the shopping aisle, Mike fumbles through a confession. El, who now understands attraction and romance a bit better through spending time with max and will, admits she feels the same and they share a small and quick kiss, like max and Lucas’ first kiss; shy and sweet. Then it all goes to shit with the mindflayer etc, and now we see Will and el moving away to Lenora. Mike shows his vulnerability about still being a bit childish about Christmas, but El reassures him he doesn’t need to grow up so fast. So they end on a cute note instead of the weird, awkward one they have in the actual show. Now this brings us to…

Season 4 - El and Will are even more insufferable, it’s revealed that between the mall ‘fire’ and now, that El had been to the library to ask for “books about gay”, to understand and support Will. Will has a love interest in California, who (Steve style) is on his way over to visit Will when he gets caught up in the crossfire, and gets dragged in to the pizza van. It’s so awkward, and Mike is like who tf are you the whole time 😂 but it plays out mostly the same way (except the earlier byler heart to hearts are more platonic, and not as necessary cause they wrote letters to each other and called often enough). This new guy and argyle bond over being dragged in to this unknowingly, and getting high. He gets jealous of Mike but Will reassures him. Then it doesn’t really affect the plot much, he’s just there. He chips in here and there with useful information. For mikes monologue, it’s more genuine and heartfelt - it’s still stressful cause it’s life or death, but he looks a lot less like he’s in actual physical pain lmao, and it focuses a lot less on ‘I love you the first time I saw you’ and more on ‘over time I got to know the girl behind the powers and realised how amazing you really are’ … and no mentions of her being a superhero lol. He also doesn’t need to lean too heavily on the I love you part, cause he’s already told her, he’s just reminding her how awesome she is as a person and how he knows she can do this. Then on the hill at the end Mike and El are stood together (they never fought because he doesn’t hesitate to tell her he loves her or write it), Will and love interest are together, etc etc. also Johnathan still gives Will the ‘I’m here for you’ talk, in episode 1 when he notices there’s something more than friendship between Will and love interest

Maybe love interest is a number or something to make him more relevant to the plot, idk.

I thought about all of this when I was reading a post about m1dleven fanfiction post season 4, and how it doesn’t really work in a satisfying way and I thought… hmm… how would melvin actually work? And then this is what I came up with. Basically what it reveals is that the show is way too deep in melvin bones, that it can’t really be pulled off in a satisfying way. You’d have to go back all the way to season 1/2 to fix it 😂

THEY’RE PISSED AT EACH OTHER!!! They are literally not talking to each other in this scene! This is not cute couple’s behavior and it is not “oh they’re so in sync!” NO! They radiate the same energy in this scene because they’re mad at each other!! Of course they make these faces in this scene because they’re irritated by Murray but they simply wouldn’t even have been so irritated if it wasn’t for what happened at rink-o-mania!!!

You mean ”they’re chemistry is at rock bottom”. Also, Mike being happy that El is safe isn’t something you can analyze in regards of their chemistry!!! Chemistry between two characters is defined by how they interact with one another and not by how they react to different situations that they’re involved in!!! Being happy that someone you’re close to is finally mostly safe again after being in danger for a significant amount of time also isn’t inherently romantic! I would be as happy as Mike if I reunited with someone I love and deeply care about platonically. And oh look! That’s exactly what Mike did!!

The thing is, Hopper never actually hated Mike and you can clearly see that in s1 and s2. While he undoubtedly found Mike annoying, it wasn’t the only impression he had of him! And in s3 Hopper was just being overprotective of his daughter and had real concerns about her relationship with Mike! Yeah of course Hopper jokingly said that he wanted to kill Mike but he was just really riled up about him at the time! It was more of an impulsive short-lived anger towards Mike than actual fundamental despise, so them having their little bonding moment at the end of s4 wasn’t actually that groundbreaking if you think about it. There also hasn’t been any real development yet so I’m not sure what this person means by “their development really hits you […]”. Mike actually became a constant in Hoppers life the minute Hopper involved himself in the case of Will’s disappearance and this was before any of them even knew El! And even while Mike is a constant in Hopper’s life, he isn’t actually a part of his family. Yet! Because Jopper and Byler are endgame and that will undoubtedly make Mike a big part of Hopper’s life!!

The first seven words really made me feel seen, thank you.

But also, that first picture is seconds before the melvin kiss where Mike is unresponsively standing there as if paralyzed with his deer-in-the-headlights-look and cement block of a gay realization!!! And the second picture is Mike in his shitty knock off shirt so basically he was being absolutely fake!! Even if he looked in love in this scene, it wouldn’t have been genuine!

Nobody says he doesn’t love her! He just simply doesn’t love her romantically! Also, El is not a “thing” and I honestly think melvin’s don’t seem to have grasped that “you’re the most important thing to me in the world” was Mike’s pathetic attempt at getting El to forgive him without an apology. I am not saying that she isn’t important to him because she is! But that scene was basically Mike trying to get around actually apologizing to her. He didn’t have any bad intentions here but it’s clear that he thought telling El that it’s all Hopper’s fault would solve all their problems and after that didn’t actually work out, he just pulled something out of his ass. Which didn’t work either because El is not stupid!!! The second piece of dialog is Mike trying to distract from their relationship issues and the problem at hand: the fact that he doesn’t love her romantically! He’s also kinda trying to comfort her which doesn’t even work because Mike and El aren’t on the same page at all!! “He doesn’t have to say ‘I love you […]” Well, clearly he does because El feels so insecure and unloved in their relationship that she desperately seeks verbal confirmation! “Whoever watches the show and doesn’t see the immense love he feels for her has to be blind” -> that’s a bit rich coming from someone who doesn’t see and constantly tries to invalidate the immense love Mike feels for Will!!!

And uhhm…..yeah, that last sentence of the caption really didn’t age well hahahaha

This caption refers to the scene where El gets harassed at rink-o-mania and the post contained pictures of Mike trying to get through to her. While the first sentence is relatable to a certain degree, the second sentence is absolutely not what happened at all!! Yes, Mike was worried and tried to help but if he wanted to comfort her so badly, why didn’t he? Mike was a major jerk to her afterwards! He didn’t try to do anything to make her feel better about the incident! Mike has never been shown to genuinely comfort El ever so “as he always does” is complete bullshit as well!!

Well, actually,,, Lucas is the one talking and making fun of Mike in this scene. Mike is completely confused and the only thing he actually says is “shut up” which clearly shows that Luca’s accusation made him uncomfortable. So Mike didn’t say “the words” at all and mildew’s “promise to love each other forever” being inevitable couldn’t be further from the truth because as of right now Mike can’t even say it!!!! Let alone promise it! “S5 I’m looking at you I need this to come true”……. I think I need to throw up…….like, what the actual fuck is it with milkshakes and their obsession with marriage?!?!?!?

“A lot of people generally do have a very difficult time opening up that word so effortlessly […] especially [for the] first time” The already problematic thing here is that this shouldn’t be Mike’s first time telling El that he loves her!!! They’ve been dating for a little bit over a year in total now so Mike should have said it to her already!! But he hasn’t! And he has also never written it before! Writing something down is easier than saying it to someone’s face but he hasn’t done that either! Because Mike doesn’t simply struggle to tell her. He straight up refuses to do it!

“[The first I love you] is like a big hurdle you need to jump over but once you say that word it becomes so effortlessly that you just can’t stop saying it.” The first time telling someone that you love them shouldn’t feel like a huge hurdle you need to jump over! And stating that saying it once makes every time afterwards effortless is just not true!! If you struggle at the first “I love you” you will struggle with every following “I love you” as well because wether it is the first time or the hundredth time, the meaning and implications don’t change! When you tell someone multiple times that you love them, you’re expressing the exact same feeling over and over again! The meaning doesn’t change and therefore your level of struggling to say it shouldn’t change either!!! And if you genuinely mean it, you shouldn’t struggle in the first place.

“But just the words in his mouth being brought into context really stresses the poor guy out. […] and I love that it’s being taken seriously rather than him just saying it like it has no severe meaning behind it, which it definitely does!” Yeah, my dear mildew, that’s exactly the point! It has a severe meaning and implication behind it and that’s EXACTLY why Mike doesn’t say it to El!! Being pushed to say the words stresses him out because he knows damn well what telling her that he loves her would mean and imply and he doesn’t want that! Because he simply doesn’t feel that way for her! Telling El that he loves her like that would be a straight up lie and he really doesn’t want to lie to her! Him saying it like it has no meaning is exactly what he does during his monologue though!! Mike separates the implication from the words itself and that’s why he finally says it and so many times too!!! Because the words are empty!

“He’s incredibly relatable to an individual who is first experiencing love and by how scary it fucking is.” That’s true but in a completely different context!! Mike is extremely relatable to queer people because being queer and realizing that you’re in love for the first time is actually scary!!

And I’m no mental health professional but finding it relatable that someone has a mental block that impedes them to tell their partner that they love them even though they really do love them [from mildew’s perspective] doesn’t seem healthy.

Honestly have so many things to say. I’m just mad and sad. AGAIN, let me rant about Stranger Things, but this time, Volume 2. This is your warning if you have not watched it already and your general warning that these are my thoughts and opinions and as much as I encourage discussion, please do not fight me on this. It took me three times watching it to think about these and actually solidify them. So enjoy? Be mad with me? I don't know. Your choice.

Dr. Brenner / Papa absolutely did not deserve peace of mind and I am so happy El did not give him the satisfaction.

El could’ve explained to Dr. Brenner why she needs to go NOW. She heard the whole conversation from Max’s trailer. She could’ve explained to him that his earlier metaphor of the dam breaking is about to happen if we don’t move fast. But well, Dr. Owens was right on the money when he said Henry’s going to do this even before Eleven can throw a punch.

We all know Will is fruity and for me, he does not need to explicitly say "I am gay." to confirm that. That scene on the drive to Nevada was his coming out scene. I support my baby, I will always do. It hurts to see that Byler can never come out from this as we can also really see Mike's love for Eleven. It was even portrayed stronger when he did that whole speech for her. Also to mention the fact that Will cares for El just as much and would not get in the way of her happiness - her and Mike's happiness in this case. They better introduce a new man for him, one he truly deserves.

Argyle, the man that you are. The fact that he just accepted all these with ease and even offered solutions. And he even went with them to Indiana? My man.

Hopper did not just get hot. He was always so hot ever since! But guys, he lost so much weight because of torture and beatings and y'all are siiiiiick for saying he's hot now that he's basically malnourished. In real life, yes, David Harbour is fit but Jim Hopper endured a lot for you to say he’s HOT now.

The whole speech of Mike is so corny but it made me SOB. His feelings are genuine and whole. I do not want Mileven to crumble and fall.

As much as I hate Jason and was satisfied to see him disintegrate, he looked so distressed, it made me feel so bad. He is the best example of a greatly written character. HE MAKES SENSE (but not one that favors us). I can't imagine how he feels by all these when he literally has no idea. If he wasn't delusional, he actually had room to grow, dare I say even be part of the group. If it was only explained to him (there was never time), he could've even helped with the plan. But see, I know he will never understand anyway. It was even so soft when he showed concern with Max as of course, he just doesn't get it!! He doesn't understand what's going on and you see another person be in the same position as your bestfriend - eyes white and in a trance. NEVERTHELESS, it is his fault Max was taken. He destroyed her headphones and beat up Lucas. He needs to say hi to Chrissy for me.

Jason's friend though? Like damn, my guy, she's just a child. That was so uncomfortable to watch.

Steve's dream of having six little nuggets is the cutest thing. What's not cute is saying you want/wanted it with Nancy. All the Stancy scenes this season was unnecessary. Not everyone needs a romantic interest. Their character development literally started when they broke up. As much as Steve had so much character development and matured and grew, making him STILL head over heels for Nancy just proves that maybe he didn't exactly grow that much then. It would've been better if he ended his whole ass speech by saying Nancy was the one that helped him grow (which he did) and that the dream of his is something that makes him hold on and try to save the world because it is something he looks forward to with someone else now (which he didn't). They could've portrayed a healthy, platonic ex relationship with them. As much as he loved her so much before, he was thankful for that love, that he got to experience it and that he really is prepared when someone else comes along. +

+ Steve is not my favorite this season, that includes him in Volume 1. I love him being a bestfriend to Robin. What's stopping him for being that with Nancy too and not an ex longing for a comeback? Him showing he has not moved on from her also makes the bathroom scene from Season 3 all the more sad. He was already having a confession to Robin in motion but now, apparently, he's back to square one? And just because a lesbian rejected him? I love Steve so much and he will always be my favorite adult teen but babe, you're not it this season. Your whole character is a simp and babysitter of course. His character just seems like it cannot even stand on its own anymore.

Nancy, on the other hand, has developed so much she can even stand alone. She can break up with Jonathan, it would not even matter. But she does not need to get back with Steve. I love Jancy but if it’s for the better they break up, they should. Sometimes, it looks like it. And the way she cares for everyone?  You gotta see her character thoroughly. She's always been the first one to face danger. When she thinks about something, she'll do it at once, no questions asked, without hesitation. Just like what Jonathan said: she never does anything halfway. Her jumping in to go after Steve or being the first one to try and get Robin out of the vines are not necessarily acts of love but of pure instinct and bravery.

Everything is one second short? If Joyce had come a second earlier to help Hopper, that could've hurt Vecna EARLY and could’ve saved Max - that is if their theory is correct. Eddie could've been saved as well? The demobats died shortly after. The trio as well are moving so fucking slow. Mike’s speech way too long too.

I could’ve agreed if you told me Season 1 Mike was the heart of the group, but he is definitely not the heart now. His character to me is very dull and for some reason, felt like is very neglected already. Just like Steve, the character cannot stand on its own anymore. Mike being the boyfriend and Steve being the ex. As for the heart of the group? Dustin definitely is.

I hate that I saw no one else mourned for you. I hate that no one fucking cared. You did not have to save the town that hated you but you did. You could've, SHOULD'VE ran. I am so sorry, Eddie. You deserved better. +

+ Dustin holding Eddie and his speech to his uncle broke me so much, I'm still crying about it. But at the same time, I just know his uncle does not even understand what "He fought and died to protect this town that hated him. He's a hero." meant because like what he knew is that an earthquake happened so what needed saving exactly.

Jonathan being the only person showing Will that he cares so much for him is what makes him a good character. He's not the best boyfriend right now but he's a damn great brother. His continuous decision to lie about their plans breaks me. He just knows he can't leave Will, El, or Joyce behind but he loves Nancy too. See the dilemma here?

Max. I can't even. I have no words. You were such an amazing addition to the group. You were the real soulmate of Eleven, you were the glimpse of normal and exciting for her and now, you’re “gone.” I love you so. +

+ BUT, your death could’ve been solidified and I would’ve accepted it. Like what I said before, deaths are inevitable - in real life or tv series. Good guys can not always win. And I hate the Duffers for copping out for Max. I don’t know what their plan is for her next season but I just hate how they left her in a coma. She could have died and yep, yeah, she did. There’s nothing that Lucas could’ve done when Jason was there, plus the destruction of her headphones.

I'm so confused why El was confused on why Lucas was at the hospital. You were there with them? Sidenote: the Hopclair hug is personal to me. My favorite underrated duo.

Basically, I’m mad, sad, and now confused. I have so many questions. Is Dr. Owens still cuffed or does the government have him? What happened to Antonov and Murray? Are they safe too? How about Yuri? Did he go to America too? What happened in the two days time jump? Did they leave Eddie’s body in the Upside Down? How did they even get out? So Suzie is still a side character? Jason’s friends’ did not report what happened in the Creel house before the earthquake, especially that Jason dies and had his body melt in half? I know that they’re hiding from the government still, but all of them are wanted at this point, are they not? I mean they freaking ran away from military. Max’s letters? They actually needed them, why is there no mention of this? Also her mom is not home? Argyle basically left his family too? YSBXUEBCI just so many questions.

I hate the fact that the Duffers are so scared to kill off people out of the main cast. Trust me, I will cry a river if it happens but it should, and it would, happen. These people care a lot about each other and would literally die for one another and I hate how somehow, it just does not happen. Why the immunity? There's no risks? They all lived happily by the end but all the newcomers were the ones to sacrifice themselves? It does not make sense to me because the new comers are the ones that are not that familiar with the group and they’re the ones to give it their all? Killing off characters is unpredictable and emotional, it causes chaos. The formula of bringing new people to the show and eventually killing them is not the way to go. Some of the main characters are even disposable at this point - not to say I hate them. I love them but it doesn't seem fair that who dies are the ones when they've barely known these people they're dying for. Most of the main in Volume 2 were bystanders and were literally just watching everything unfold. Writers are chickening out but the show is a story of found family as well and if one dies because of love, they will.

I didn’t like it very much. Somehow, it felt predictable and mellow. It was hyped for a month and it did not meet my expectations on what it COULD be - no need for me to say what things should’ve been. It’s just that it could be more.
