Please recommend me some good animation films

Ruben Brandt: Collector (2019)

High stakes heist movie about fine arts with a side of psychological thriller. One of the most underrated animation films I know of, being unknown even among animators. A whole lot of fun to watch and with a striking, unique art style.

Millennium Actress (2001)

Following up an unknown film with a huge classic. This movie is an uplifting, charming and very emotional love letter to cinema and being alive. It's unconventional pacing and structure might be a bit hard to follow but I think it's a treat.

Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds (2024)

This one's not out until ... a few months, but it's worth the wait. It's a refreshingly earnest and whimsical film that children and adults alike can enjoy. The animation is incredibly polished, and it has really fun, imaginative designs and an original art style.

Junk Head (2021)

One of my personal favorites. Unconventional, out there and fun, this is a very indie production who mixes a grimy "horror" look with a light hearted, silly, almost whimsical tone. All these characters might appear like horrible little puppets but they talk and act like a bunch of buddies having the most normal day of their week. Insanely charming. Insane too, a bit

The Rabbi's Cat (2011)

Adaptation of my favorite comic book, Rabbi's Cat is a charming philosophical little film. The art style is a great adaptation of the original comic's more scratchy style made simple for animation purposes. My favorite aspect has to be the dialog, which flows incredibly naturally and is a lot of fun.

You felt sick. You genuinely felt like you were going to throw up what little you’d eaten while at work today and you couldn’t tell if it was nerves from tonight or anxiety over having your routine interrupted. Work nights were for going home to your small apartment and curling up with your cat, not going out.

But Hoseok had asked if you’d come over to his tonight and you’d been so flustered over the invite that you’d said yes before even thinking. 

Going over to his was something that you’d been lowkey excited about and hoping for for the last two weeks. The two of you had gone on another three dates; bowling, the movie theatre to watch 21 Bridges and then to the theatre again to watch Frozen 2. Which he’d obviously been just delighted to watch.

He’d finally decided that it was time to start having cheaper dates, which meant hanging out at each other’s place. You didn’t know if this meant you were officially dating, like boyfriend-girlfriend dating or that weird adult form of dating where neither of you say anything but it just slowly happens. It kind of felt like number two was happening.

So here you were, stood outside his apartment door at 5:47pm. He’d said to come over for 6, but you didn’t want to knock and look like you were being too eager. As much as you like being early to things, you personally hated it when people were early in turn to you. It stressed you out too much.

Chewing on your lip and fidgeting quietly, you look at your phone screen once more and wonder how long it would be okay to wait before finally knocking. And then suddenly the door was opening, the movement causing you to jump slightly as you shuffled backwards with a hot face.

Hoseok was stood there, grinning at you with grey sweatpants on and an oversized white shirt covering his torso while a black snapback was turned backwards on his head. It made him bizarrely look more frat boy than it did metal head, but the colourful tattoos pushed that impression away.

Actually no, it combined fuckboy and metalhead together until you were suddenly faced with a lethal combo. He should not look that good, really. And then you realised that you were staring, that you had been staring for far too long in fact, as he lets out a quiet laugh.

“How long are you gonna stand there for? Or would rather come in?” He points behind him and you peer around his body, taking in the oddly neutral colour scheme of his place. You weren’t entirely sure what you expected it to look like, but the boring beige he had wasn’t it.

Glancing back, he looks back at his own place before sighing and gesturing you inside, closing the door behind you and taking your coat. “It’s not very interesting to look at but I’m one of those people who’d rather spend their money on other things.”

“Can’t relate. It’s not a home unless it’s filled with a million things for me. Even my desk at work looks like Disney and Pokémon had a baby which then threw up Studio Ghibli.” Hoseok looks at you strangely for a moment before grinning and gently pushing you through to the living room. It’s open plan with the kitchen to the left, the space divided by his large corner sofa while a huge television screen took up pride of place on top of a sleek black glass counter. 

You could spy a Playstation 4 beneath and your brow raised momentarily, wondering why he’d never mentioned playing any games. But you didn’t get chance to say anything as he gestured for you to sit on the couch, the plain black pillows looking out of place on the grey fabric.

“What do you want to drink? I got beer...well I got beer and water. So I guess you’ll want water.” He said, more to himself really and you couldn’t help the small smile as he heads back in, a glass of water in his hand and an opened beer for himself. You take a small sip before leaning forward and carefully placing it on his coffee table, looking at the CD coasters in amusement.

“Sorry, I should have something nicer for you to drink.” Hoseok apologises, flopping down onto the couch next to you with a huff and giving you a twisted smile. Shaking your head, you place your bag on the floor before leaning back against the comfortable cushion as well.

“No, it’s okay. I drink water at home too. I know. It’s not interesting.” You shrug at him, biting your lip.

“Doesn’t need to be. If that’s what you like then at least it’s cheap, right?” Snorting, you nod and grin at him shyly, looking down at your hands. Despite getting more comfortable with him over the last two weeks, you were still awkward and didn’t really know how to talk to him properly. It was probably even worse with him than with your friends, because you felt a level of expectation on yourself given the attraction you had to him.

Hoseok doesn't seem to notice though, his attention focused on the remote in his hand as he navigates through his TV to the Netflix app. Glancing to you, he gives a quick smile as he clicks it on.

"Not gonna be too interesting tonight I'm afraid, but I thought we could just...spend some time together and watch some Netflix?" He pauses suddenly, eyes widening as he looks from the screen to you. "I-er-I mean...this is not me trying to like...Netflix and chill or something. It's literally just watching something...call for some takeout, so don't worry."

The horror in his eyes as he evidently realises how his words could be construed makes you giggle lightly, anxiety vanishing for a moment at his blunder. You think it's cute how desperate he is to make you feel comfortable and you find your hand resting on his arm to reassure him.

"I didn't think you were. It's okay. Just...pick something good." He eyes you then, lips pursing before he begins to play with his lip ring. Then he hands you the remote, mentioning to the screen with a gracious smile.

"You can put something on. Though I should make you watch something terrible after you made me watch Frozen last time." You scoff at that, mock outrage as you glare at him before flicking through what's available.

"Riiight, right. Frozen is evidently so terrible that you know all the words to Let It Go apparently. And I didn’t make you do anything! You suggested it because you’d seen everything else" 

"...Elsa is badass okay?"

The two of you end up watching a Netflix original film, something that started out okay but ended strange. It had been nice and peaceful though, your random comments and observations causing him to chuckle in amusement rather than annoyance thankfully before he ordered a pizza for you both.

There had been some casual conversation too, spurred on from the film itself and you'd both discussed why it was that so many Netflix films had such terrible endings. Not that either of you had come up with an answer, but it had still been fun.

Even if you'd both had mouthfuls of pepperoni pizza at the time which not only made it harder to speak but also just looked gross. But at least he looked equally gross.

Hoseok had chosen the second film, the time ticking later and later, causing you to glance at the clock in slight anxiety before forcing yourself to stay quiet. It wasn't too late really, and you found yourself unwilling to leave him anyway. You enjoyed being around Hoseok.

It had surprised you to discover this, but he had an easy personality that made it simple to talk to him. He was outgoing and pleasant, willing to engage you in whatever you wanted to talk about while making sure that you were comfortable. You were positive that you somehow hit the jackpot which in turn meant that you were positive it would all go to shit with your luck.

He was slouching down now, legs laid out in front of him as he sat on the bit of the couch that connected to the other half. You were next to him, leaning a little closer than you intended because of his weight causing the cushions to dip. 

It gave you a great view of his tattoos though, the arm closest to you bright and vibrant with its colours, eye catching to say the least. You find yourself looking over them more than watching the film curious as to what they were and what they represented.

"You can touch them you know, I'm not gonna freak." Hoseok's voice makes you jerk in surprise, looking up with wide eyes to find him watching you with a carefully neutral expression. You make no movement towards him and he reaches out, resting his hand on your thigh before giving you a small smile.

"I'm serious, I don't mind."

You hesitate for a moment before taking him up on his offer, letting your fingers travel along the intricate art of his arm. It's his right arm, the one with the seeming mish-mash of images and you look each one over in interest.

There's a ghost pirate ship sailing among a sea of ruby red roses with a single gold rose floating amongst them all. The night sky surrounding the ragged grey sails is black, pin pricked with spots of white to signify an array of stars while a full moon turns into a clock, the hands frozen at what looks to be 3:30. 

The sea of roses soon shift into a detailed skull, only half of it present while it morphs into a woman's face on the other side, crystal tears dripping down her face that shifts into blood on her chin. Long black hair swooping down past her face forms a lean panther, snarling in a jungle of trees. There's far more detail woven into it all than you’d realised and you admire them with a smile you don't even realise you have.

"These are beautiful. I didn't look too close before, but they're all linked right?" Hoseok is quiet for a moment before nodding, turning his arms to let you see those on his inner wrist. "How long did this take to get all this? I'm guessing you have one on your chest from what I can see and your other arm is gorgeous too."

"I got my first when I was fifteen. Wasn't legal obviously, but I didn't care back then. Didn't care about much to be honest." You frown up at him, noticing the way his face has gone carefully blank and how he stares away from you. 

"That's young, right? Isn't the legal age like...eighteen?" He nods in response and you bite your lip carefully. "What do they mean? If you're willing to tell me. You don’t have to, I’d just...like to know?"

You add the last question on quickly, getting the feeling that these tattoos are more personal to Hoseok than you realised. 

Sure enough, he stays quiet for a moment before pointing at the half-skull, half-woman. "This represents my sister, Hyeri. The pirate ship is because she was obsessed with pirates back then and the roses because she used to really love them. She thought red roses were romantic but secretly she preferred gold, hence the gold one."

His fingers shifts to the moon-clock. "This...shows the time she died. 3:33pm, September 26th. She was only eleven. I was eight."

You're shocked into silence, one hand moving to your mouth as you feel a wave of sympathy for him that surprises you. He sees your look and gives a half smile shaking his head before he takes your hand and winds your fingers together.

Even with the shock of his words, your stomach flips with nervy excitement at the way he held your hand so easily. It was the first time he'd ever done that, the first time hed extended physical contact beyond the cheek kisses he’d become fond of giving you.

"I got a really shitty tattoo when I was fifteen because I thought it would piss my parents off. I was angry at the world, but it was really because I felt guilty and I was angry that the world wasn't angry at me. You see...I was convinced that I was the reason Hyeri died." You don't have any words to give him then, staring at him in disbelief. He takes your silence as a cue to continue.

"My parents were driving us home from the mall. I was angry because Hyeri had won some stupid toy in an arcade machine and I didn't have anything, you know how it is back then. Kids are stupid over tiny stuff. So I started a fight with her. Mom was leaning back to stop us and dad was shouting...then we get hit by a car. I blamed myself for her dying. Thought it was my fault, because I'd started fighting and distracted my parents." He sighs deeply, squeezing your hand gently.

"I couldn't handle it. I was only a kid you know? I loved Hyeri a lot, looked up to her. And then I had this guilt I'd put on myself. It was a drunk driver who ran a red, it wasn't me but...you can't accept that. Not when you’re that young. My parents weren’t angry with me, kept telling me they didn't blame me and I hated them for that. I didn���t understand why they weren’t angry and that pissed me off even more. So I acted out. I was pretty nasty in school, joined the bad crowd, smoked, drank, did drugs, fucked around. Anything to just...get my parents angry,"

"But they never did. Because they knew that I blamed myself. I refused therapy ‘cos I thought it was lame. Got into college somehow and I started dating this girl freshman year. Older than me, liked bad boys. She was a psych major. I think she liked trying to analyse them or something. But she must have seen I had real issues that could be resolved so she got my friends to encourage me to go to counselling. I did...and I finally came to terms with Hyeri's death. Accepted it wasn't my fault, it was the drunk driver. She would've died even if I hadn’t started the fight. Cleaned up my act after that...apologised to my parents, stopped smoking and doing drugs. Stopped fucking around, discovered computers and metal. Got these tattoos to memorialise her, because I still love her."

A quiet sniff leaves you and he looks up in surprise, face breaking into a gentle smile as he sees the tears falling down your face. You hadn't been able to stop them, the pain in his voice at his sister's death pulling at your heartstrings and then his agony at coming to terms with it all.

"I'm sorry Hoseok, that sounds awful." You get out, lips quivering and he chuckles softly, reaching up and wiping away at your tears.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm at peace with it all now and all that jazz. Now I get tattoos ‘cos I like them. And I have a great relationship with my parents now, I swear." Using your free hand, you trace over the woman's face, his sisters face you presume with a quiet reverence.

"They're beautiful. Really. I'm glad...that you made something nice out of it all." Hoseok snorts softly, letting his thumb stroke the back of your hand while his other hand cups your cheek gently.

The film is completely forgotten in the background, but neither of you seem to care as he stares deeply into your eyes.

"Thank you. I'm glad you like them. My other sleeve is just cos I thought space dragons would be cool." That makes you break out into a series of giggles, bending closer to him slightly from the force of your laughter. Hoseok keeps you there when you try to move back, deep brown eyes staring directly into yours while you feel his warm breath ghosting over your lips.

"You're very beautiful. Have I told you that?" You can feel your body heating, unsure whether to be embarrassed or run away from his sudden compliment. The only response you can do is to glance down, away from his charged gaze.

"You are, really," He whispers and you make a noise, unsure what it was but not wanting this moment to end either. "...this might seem a little weird given the topic we've just discussed...but can I kiss you? I've been wanting to…"

Oh god, oh god. He wants to kiss you. This disgustingly attractive man who could command the attention of any woman if he tried hard enough wanted to kiss you. Was he mad? Had he thought this through? Surely he was going to regret this, there were far better women out there than you.

And yet your head nods of its own accord, movement foreign to you suddenly and it's like you're not in your body. Not aware of the bubbling nausea from the swirling emotions in your stomach and veins, not aware of the tension in your body or the sudden way you feel hot and flustered.

Hoseok doesn't say anything though, just smiles before leaning forward. The space between you both is even shorter than you'd realised and he's kissing you. His lips, so soft and warm, are pressed against your own and you're frozen in shock, desire and indecision.

The feeling of his solid lip ring against your mouth is foreign, and yet it's what brings you back to life. Suddenly you feel everything in your body, too much. Like your mind is being overloaded with sensation and emotions, all focused on the fact that Jung Hoseok is kissing you.

And you like it. In fact, you love it.

Before he can move away, you shyly reach and wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him a bit closer. He grins into the kiss, breaking the contact slightly and letting you both breath before he's shifting, tugging you closer till you're laid out on the couch, body pressed to his side.

A gasp leaves you at the feel of his solid, warm body against your own and he takes full advantage of it, slipping his tongue into your mouth with the practised ease of someone who has done this many times. You like that too.

And for the first time in a long time, you let yourself ignore the stresses, anxieties and worries that plague your mind so often. There on Hoseok's couch, you do no more than kiss like loved up teenagers and yet it's the first time you've had any kind of romantic interaction with someone without the looming dark clouds of negativity in your head.

You purposefully push it away, too desperate to simply enjoy this moment with an attractive man who genuinely seems to like you. And so you do. 

For the first time, you simply let someone in.

7 Comfort Films Tag Game

Rules: List seven comfort films (and why you like them), then tag seven people.

1. Mulan

I have loved this movie ever since I was a little kid (which might explain why I keep coming back to it, haha).  The music’s great, I love the dramatic irony throughout, the story and characters are wonderful--if I’m looking for something nice to watch, then there’s a good chance I’ll be watching this.

2. Tarzan

Another Disney feature, this one I didn’t really get invested in until I got older, and...I’m honestly not sure why I like this so much?  I don’t know, there’s just something that I really like about this movie that I can’t quite put my finger on.

3. Into the Spiderverse

With this one, on the other hand, I know exactly what I like.  Both the characters and the story are amazing--and would probably cause be to rewatch this over and over again regardless--but what really stands out is the art and animation.  I love this different art styles used and how it feels so much like an actual, living comic book.

4. How to Train Your Dragon

Is anyone actually surprised this is on here?  I love dragon stories, and this one is really charming.  The developing friendship between Hiccup and Toothless is heartwarming; I love these two to death.

5. Digimon: Revenge of Diaboromon

Haha, this one might be a strange one, because it’s a pretty basic, short story that focuses more on action that plot or character development--but maybe that’s why it’s something of a comfort movie.  Well, that, the nostalgia, and the animation.  It’s a nice way to relax and tune out and just enjoy a peace of my childhood without any complicating factors.

6. Brother Bear

Another movie that I’ve loved since I was a kid!  I’ve always really loved the interactions between the brothers in this, and the growing sibling relationship between Koda and Kenai, and how gorgeous anything with the spirts looks--it’s just a really good movie.

7. Spirited Away

Admittedly, I have not watched enough Ghibli films--but I do love Spirited Away.  The story is amazing, with charming characters and beautiful visuals, so it’s very easy for me to get sucked in.

9: What’s a little thing in life that you love? 

my dad & i have this secret little spot with a great view that we discovered a couple years ago where we go & watch the sunset a lot during the summer months. that half an hour while we wait and see the sky change is always so peaceful, i look forward to it lots. i love when the sky is full of pink & purple clouds & the sun glows red when it gets close to the horizon <3

MOTHER: Leiote Sekai - Deceased, Doman Hyur. Leiote was a Geiko in Hingashi, and was well known for her ethereal presence, beauty, and kindness. She was ultimately charmed by the outsider R’ihan Meztli, and they both moved back to her home village in Yanxia to start a family. 

SIBLINGS: Kaeyu Meztli - Half sibling, half Keeper half Seeker.  Kaeyu and Kirei don’t know the other exists. Kaeyu has a reputation for being rather rambunctious and a trouble maker. 

EXTENDED FAMILY: Kirei has family on her mother’s and father’s side, but she doesn’t know anything about them, or there whereabouts. 

NAME MEANING/S: Kirei (きれい)- The Hingan word for ‘pretty’, or ‘beautiful’. It has been heavily implied to Kirei by others, that she was named after her mother’s beauty and kindness in hopes that she would inherit these traits.

MUN QUESTIONS.

Q1 : If you could write your character your way in their own movie, what would it be called, what style would it be filmed in, and what would it be about?

A1 : I’m not sure about the title, but it would definitely have to be an animated film. And It would probably be about Kirei’s backstory and about her parents. There’s a lot of details about her past that I don’t get to touch on too much in RP. 

Q2 : What would their soundtrack/score sound like?

A2 : Something that would invoke a lot of emotion if possible. Ghibli/Disney-esque would be awesomeeee.

Q3 : Why did you start writing this character?

A3 : Long story short, something happened to me while visiting Japan that gave me inspiration to write Kirei. Close friends know the entire story, but its a bit long and wild. I’ll just say it involves a Fox shrine I ran into!

Q4 : What first attracted you to this character?

A4 : Besides the thing that happened in Japan, I wanted a character where I was able to express my interest in things like shamanism and the spirit world. I also was really attracted to the idea of writing a character that was still kind to others even though she has no reason to be, due to the rough life she lived. 

Q5 : Describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse.

A5 : I’m a really open person who likes to approach people to start conversations, but Kirei is the opposite of that. It makes it a bit harder to approach in RP since I wrote her to be a wallflower. She’s also much more reserved than I am, so if there’s a wild scene happening in RP that I would like to get in on, I really can’t on Kirei since she’s not one to participate in things unless asked. 

Q6 : What do you have in common with your muse?

A6 : Probably too much in hindsight rofl. Kirei is the first RP character I ever wrote, so I gave her a lot of commonalities from myself so it would be easier to write her and learn how to RP. 

Q7 :  How does your muse feel about you?

A7 : She would probably tell me that I’m trying my best, but she thinks that with most! 

Q8 : What characters does your muse have interesting interactions with ?

A8 : A whole other side of Kirei comes out if she interacts with manipulative/cunning characters, and I really enjoy writing that darker side of her that appears. 

Q9 : What gives you inspiration to write your muse ?

A9: A big inspiration for the core of Kirei is Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket (if you couldn’t tell but all the fruits basket stuff I reblog). I just loved how she was written, and how she stayed kind despite her hard life, and I loved her layers and how she viewed others. Tohru gave me a lot if inspiration to be kind to others growing up, Kirei is really just a homage to her. 

Q10: How long did this take you to complete ?

A10: TOO LONG, I worked on it on and off throughout the week.

⊹  training threads. inigo teaches your muse how to wield a sword or some basic techniques. if your muse is already familiar with swordsmanship, they could also spar with one another to try and improve.  (or maybe they got into an argument, and this is how they plan on settling it?)  inigo has a very unique style of fighting that pays homage to his talents in dance while still incorporating distinctive feroxi techniques: he’s quick and nimble on his feet, likely a little flashy from time to time for dramatic effect. your muse could alternatively be interested in learning this particular style. (bonus: does your muse know magic? perfect! inigo has one whole point in his magic stat! teach him how to wield it!)

⊹  future past dlc. this one’s a little more self-explanatory. something taking place in the timeline that’s potentially and very likely doomed for the awakening kids. i’d really like this to be bittersweet: angst is a certain theme, but inigo taking care of your muse (or doing the best that he can) would be cute. tending to wounds, sticking next to your muse in battle as closely as he can, leading up to the actual events of the dlc where he and your muse find themselves in a dire situation they could very well die in.

⊹ future past dlc: part two.  i made a post about this only a night ago and it’s completely optional, but considering inigo’s grown up in an apocalypse he’s incredibly touch-starved and deprived of normal, teenager experiences. he could very well die any day, but he’d like to at least experience his first kiss and some semblance of affection before he does, even if it’s fake. and that’s where your muse comes in! they find a bittersweet affection in pretending to care for each other-- it’s not a smart idea to fall in love in the middle of an apocalypse, but if you’re so inclined, it could go that way.

⊹  dancing!  lots of different scenarios here. inigo could teach your muse how to dance (maybe there’s a sort of royal event, post-awakening or post-fates and your muse needs to prepare for it), or you could be one of the lucky few to be invited to inigo’s late-night dance practices. probably by the lake-side in the dead of night, and he asks your muse what they think about his steps, maybe persuades them into joining him.

⊹  tavern melees. inigo gets into a bar fight for one of the following reasons: 1) to impress your muse because he thinks they’re cute, 2) to impress the bar maid because SHE’S cute, 3) he tries to hit on a girl and it turns out she’s there with her spouse... oops! whatever the case, he joins in and your muse can choose to ALSO join in, and or tend to inigo’s injuries after they get kicked out and subsequently banned.

⊹  masquerade. are you a sucker for plots along the lines of “i met you at an underground masquerade in one of the kingdoms where both of our identities are totally anonymous, but i instantly fell in love and i’m dying to see you again.”? awesome. me too. bonus points if they actually know each other and aren’t aware of it.

⊹  modern verse things! either while inigo is in high school or in university pursuing dancing. there’s a lot of potential here: them meeting at a party, classmates who get stuck on a project together, maybe they’re paired up for an upcoming performance and they’re stuck at rehearsals together, maybe there’s rumours of a fucking ghost at campus so they break in after hours to investigate because they’re fucking idiots and-- holy shit did you hear that. dude i’m not ready to die yet.  

⊹  modern verse things... again. but this time we focus on inigo’s presence as a social media star. he’s huge on instagram and twitter, gets into a lot of beef with beauty gurus and b-list celebrities because he shades them. few possibilities: 1) he’s a youtuber, 2) he works for some sort of modelling agency, 3) he’s just a kid with a big mouth online and people think he’s hot so that’s why he has thousands of followers. whatever it is, he and your muse are peers and Bond.

⊹  star-crossed lovers. inigo and your muse are absolutely smitten. head over heels. obnoxiously in love. but for whatever reason, they can’t be together-- whether that be because of different social standings (maybe your muse is royalty?) or something else, they have to keep their relationship a secret. but that doesn’t stop inigo from tossing pebbles at your muse’s window at three in the morning, scaling their balcony, just to be like “hi i know we’re not supposed to be together but i can’t sleep and i missed you.” all that cliché goodness.

Hii! Congrats on 500 followers!!!!

Hellu and thank you Bone daddy!! (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and oh movies, have to admit I don’t watch that much movies so I don’t know much about different one’s, or at least not popular one’s unless it’s a Disney movie or something, but I will do my best, will do more of an idea on what kind of movies they would like instead of specific ones, so here goes

Sans:

He does not care much of what he watches, as he usually falls asleep less than half way in, but he do like science fiction movies allot, movies with allot of technology and stuff about space, as he finds them really interesting as it's fun to try to think up if some of those machines and gadgets would be possible to make in real life, his mind running away with ideas but he usually doesn’t get much further than that, though mostly he just finds it interesting what people can come up with.

He at times pretends to fall asleep just to mess with his bro while they watch movies together, then just to suddenly joke or comment on something or toss some popcorn or something else on his bro, making Papyrus jump in surprise and then smack him on the arm because that was not funny brother now don’t interrupt him he’s trying to watch this movie, unlike you you lazybones making Sans chuckle as both of them return to the movie, Sans flipping one last piece of popcorn on Papyrus just because he can.

He also do like watching documentaries, doesn’t really matter what about, documentaries are pretty much the only thing he doesn’t fall asleep to, as he is one big nerd deep down and loves to learn, he also like comedy movies of course.

But anything goes though, he will either fall asleep or sit and toss random puns, jokes and various snacks through out the whole thing anyhow, though he is not that big of a fan of horror though, like he will watch it but he won’t really enjoy it, it’s just not his thing. 

And for snacks, pretty much the same as for the movies anything goes, he will dip whatever it is in lots of ketchup though, wether if that is because he likes the taste or just for shits and giggles is anyone’s guess, he do prefer more saltier snacks though like chips and popcorn but won’t say no to something else.

Papyrus:

He absolutely loves watching movies, it’s a great way to bond and spend time with your friends and family, he is very picky with what he watches tho and usually prefers to watch movies he have already watched a dozen times before, he isn’t against watching new things he just have really high standards and just a preference to watch the same things over and over again, especially his MTT shows which he have recorded on a bunch of old VH’s.   

He especially like movies when it’s about a hero/heroine/etc on a quest to save the world with their friends, when there is a great evil they need to defeat with a slice of romance, so fantasy movies are a big yes to him, anything with epic journeys in strange worlds where the main character needs to go through trials to grow as a person and find a way to save everyone, movies with knights and medieval things, magic and lot’s of drama and dramatic flair to everything!

Papyrus often gets pretty emotional when watching movies as he gets really into the story and the characters, he gets easily embarrassed and flustered when a character does something embarrassing, making him shout out at the screen while burying his face in a pillow, or if it’s really bad he will quickly excuse himself after asking the others to pause for a bit alongside a bad excuse and either jump out of the nearest window or rush out into another room to shout out his embarrassment, like no why did they do that no, just no WHY?! then he will calmly as if nothing happened return to his seat, saying they can turn it back on now.

Undyne has introduced him to anime and he absolutely loves it, especially love ghibli movies they are right up his alley, he have also ended up watching some old Disney and dreamworks movies which he also love to watch, he have ended up crying a bunch of times thanks to them which he insist he isn’t he just got something in his eye, as he sniffles loudly and cries harder, why couldn’t the fox and the hound stay friends for?! Sans giving him some pats on his shoulder with a there there, and then he makes a pun making Papyrus snort and then toss a pillow at him because brother no do not ruin this extremely sad and emotional moment of the movie with your puns!

He also of course likes watching movies where there are puzzles and you have to think and try to solve stuff, might not be movies but he do love gaming shows where you have to answer stuff and figure things out etc.

He like Sans is not big on horror movies, as they end up making him extremely jumpy for days afterwards and he just do not like them, at all, but he will insist on watching them if it is suggested, as there is no way the great Papyrus is scared!

And when it comes to snacks, he of course insist on having all different kinds while he watches movies for the ultimate movie watching experience, he usually forget to eat any of them though as he usually gets so engrossed in the movie he’s watching, he does not have that big of a sweet tooth tho so if he do eat anything it’s probably some chips or popcorn, though he do like his popcorn very buttery tho.  

Red:

Really old and shitty horror movies is his jam, the worse they are the better he likes them, he doesn’t watch much movies but when he do he is all about the bad horror, or just horror in general, as he can’t stop himself from laughing really loudly at how stupid people are or how bad the plot and everything is, making anyone else who watches with him glare at him and wishing for him to shut the fuck up, and will tell him so if they know him well enough not to be scared shitless of him, Edge will smack him for him to shut up if he is there watching which he most likely is.

He will point out inaccuracies in how the various people are killed with a wide smirk, telling in way too much gory detail how to do it properly just to make people uncomfortable for shits and giggles, Edge if he is around will once again smack him because please just shut the fuck up no one wants to hear it god damn it.

Red also loves watching really dark comedy movies, something like “happy three friends” or something like it, just really dark, horrible, and extremely offensive comedies is something he loves to watch.

Though he isn’t that picky with what he watches, something he refuses to watch though is anything involving science, or at least when it’s allot of science going on at least, as he detest science so damn much thanks to his past, anything science brings up too many bad memories he does not want to remember, that he will immediately gets pissed and either he will immediately leave or insist that they change movies because otherwise he is fucking leaving, it has happened that he have destroyed the tv with a bone attack when something sciency has appeared on it, mostly without thinking like a damn reflex, he tries not to react like that after the last time when he got scolded af by Edge, they might be very well off nowadays but tvs are still very expensive!  

If watching movies with Edge, which he most likely is, he will be sitting with his phone and randomly take photos of his bro through out the movie, as he always need more photos of his baby bro so he can show the world what a fantastic and cute brother he has, which will fluster Edge to no end because Brother stop it why are you like this why can’t you just watch the god damn movie in peace and stop been so weird?

Red just like Sans also at times falls asleep while watching movies, not as often as Sans does though, Red prefers to stay awake but at times pretends to fall asleep just to mess around, making extremely loud snore noises and when people least expect it shouts out a “BUH!” or something else when people least expects it scaring the shit out of them and him then ending up in a laughing fit at their reactions.

When it comes to snacks, anything goes he will sit there and pop his mouth full with various chips and candy at the same time chewing as loudly as possible just to piss people off, just been disgusting and getting shit all over himself, unless he is wearing his jacket, then he is not spilling anything at all, as he got the jacket from Edge so he treasures it hella lot and no way is he getting it ruined, Red do prefer to just sit and drink while watching movies tho, like he usually only eat stuff to gross people out because he’s a bit of an ass, there is obviously alcohol in what he drinks, like beers etc, he also ofc drinks mustard, he do like eating chips while drinking though.  

Edge:

Edge does not watch movies often, mostly because he considers watching movies a waste of his time as he got much more important stuff he needs to do, like his never ending pile of paperwork, cleaning the house, training and checking up on his guardsmen, checking traps and do patrols etc, as Edge is one big workaholic, but when he do end up watching movies so is it because either Red or Cackles, aka UF Undyne, forces him to because he works way too much, he protests hella lot but eventually gives in as he knows he srs need to take a break even though he doesn’t want to, but just for an evening then he needs to be back or someone will mess his hard work up completely and he can’t allow that to happen.

And for what kind of movies he prefers to watch, so is he a sucker for romance movies, the cheesier and more dramatic the better, he would totally love those Spanish dramas allot, he loves romance movies because he is a super romantic at heart, is all about giving roses and fancy dinner dates etc, which he will vehemently deny that he is and that he likes those kind of movies if asked, unless he truly trusts you then he can hesitantly admit it that he do with a blush, so what if he likes romance movies?! just because he is the feared and famous captain of the royal guard doesn’t mean he can’t like romance movies! though please keep that knowledge on the down low he got a reputation to uphold after all!

He similar to Papyrus gets really into the movies he watches, at least when it comes to romance ones otherwise he doesn’t get as invested, but with romance movies though he either gets so into the movie that he argues with the things that happens, telling the characters to not do that, that is not what happened you got it all wrong, you shouldn’t take him back Linda what are you doing you fool you’re supposed to get together with Mark! or he will sit there completely quiet, not allowing anyone to talk or else he will schreech at them to shut up or else they will wish they had never talked in the first place! he also like Papyrus does not handle very embarrassing parts in movies that well either, lot’s of schreeching into a pillow or have to leave the room for a bit because no just no why did they do such a stupid thing while been extremely embarrassed himself.  

Edge is very opinionated when he watches movies, no matter what movie or how invested in the movie he is, he will have opinions on it no matter what, he will immediately point out things he do not agree with or how if the characters in it had done this instead of what they had done like a pair of utter idiots things would had turned out so much better, he will try to stay quiet if someone asks him to, but he will still let out sarcastic af comments under his breath, and don’t get him started on plot holes! he do not like it when something makes absolutely no sense, like don’t let him watch a movie like “The Room” he will snap and go into a rant, schreeching how awful and just horrible the whole thing is while Red laughs his non existent guts out in the background.

Romantic tragedies are the ultimate guilty pleasure for him, like they don’t even have to be good ones, he will end up crying and clutching a pillow anyway, denying that he is crying if pointed out with a barely held back sniffle, this place is clearly dusty as he have gotten some dust in his eye he will have to clean later to make sure it doesn’t happen again shut up! Red will tease him when he cries  which will piss Edge off because you are ruining the moment Red shut your damn mouth and let him enjoy the movie in peace! and stop taking photos of me you’re not allowed to take photos of me when I am crying I have told you so many times!

Something Edge does not enjoy watching is comedies, not even romantic comedies, as he finds the comedy and humour in them to be pretty tasteless, like there is no class in the humour it’s not executed well and the jokes are not funny, though if watching them he will end up letting out a snort at the worst jokes of them all which he immediately denies, claiming it was just so bad he had to laugh at it when he in fact found it kinda funny. he also isn’t that big of a fan of horror movies, mostly because they also are bad and tasteless, and that he already has to see such horrors time to time in real life why would he want to see more of it? and also they are doing stuff completely wrong most of the time too, but he will watch them if Red really wants to, he isn’t a fan of animated or cartoonish movies either, mostly as he considers them to be for children, Cackles is trying to get him to watch some anime with her and he is slowly caving in to at least try it out, and when he do he will end up absolutely loving it.

For snacks, so is he not really into snacking while watching, or snacking at all, as he just does not like candy or stuff like that that much, he prefers like some carrots or something with some dip if he now snacks, as he is a bit of a health nut and has a diet he follows religiously so to stay healthy, Red thinks Edge needs to get that stick out of his ass and live a little, relax it’s just some snacks for a night baby bro just give in already, Edge will of course resist any sort of attempt on his brothers part because no way is he going to eat such unhealthy things unless forced to in a social setting, though he do have a weakness for this one candy, it’s like a chocolate ball kind of candy which he really likes but tries hard not to eat as they are filled with sugar and stuff.

Some MCU actors are well known for voicing popular roles in animated superhero movies, like Samuel L. Jackson in The Incredibles movies, otherwise known as Nick Fury. Even Doctor Strange's Benedict Cumberbatch has voiced a version of everyone's favorite Christmas character, The Grinch.

The funny thing about voice acting, though, is that those in the audience may not immediately catch on to what actor is voicing a character. Paul Rudd, for example, was one of the many Hollywood actors who took part in the adult dark comedy, Sausage Party, and many might be surprised that quite a few other MCU actors have voiced characters on the small and big screen.

10 Chris Pratt: Emmet (The Lego Movie)

Legos have, for a long time, been a favorite childhood toy. The toys range from many themes and even popular movies. In 2014, The Lego Movie was a computer-animated comedy based on the Lego line of construction toys and it centered around a Lego character named Emmett.

The role was voiced by actor, Chris Pratt. Pratt's character is mistaken for "the Special" from a prophecy and gets tangled in a resistance movement. Emmett aids the resistance in stopping a tyrannical villain from gluing the city to his perfect image.

9 Paul Rudd: Derek Dietl (Monsters Vs. Aliens)

Paul Rudd has an extensive filmography, from being well known as Mike from Friends to Ant-Man in the MCU. Amongst his long list of accolades is a voice role in the 2009 computer-animated movie, Monsters Vs. Aliens. Rudd played a supporting role as Derek Dietl, a local weatherman.

His role was also the ex-fiancé of the main character Susan, voiced by Reese Witherspoon. Derek takes any opportunity to further his career, even if it strains his relationship. On their wedding day, Susan is struck by a meteorite, causing her to grow big. She and a group of misfit monsters have to fight off an alien invasion.

8 Tessa Thompson: Lady (Lady And The Tramp)

One of Disney's classic movies, Lady and the Tramp, from 1955, got a makeover in 2019 when the movie of the same name was recreated into an alive-action/CGI hybrid. An upper-class Cocker Spaniel named Lady becomes friends with a homeless Schnauzer-mutt named Tramp (Justin Theroux).

Lady was voiced by MCU actor Tessa Thompson. The movie was sweet, as two dogs of different social classes fall in love, all while in the midst of a misunderstanding, as Lady believes her owner will abandon her after the birth of their baby. The movie even kept the famous pasta scene from the original animated film.

7 Tom Hiddleston: James Hook (The Pirate Fairy)

Tom Hiddleston took part in a direct-to-video feature-length animated movie that is part of Disney's Tinker Bell franchise. In The Pirate Fairy, Hiddleston voiced a different yet similar version of the most despicable pirate from the fairytales, Hook, James Hook to be exact.

The character disguises himself as a cabin boy, while Zarina (Christina Hendricks), a fairy, takes control of the crew after promising to make the ship fly using fairy dust. In true Hook fashion, he double-crosses Zarina and reveals he's the leader of the pirate crew.

6 Robert Downey Jr.: Patrick Pewterschmidt (Family Guy)

Robert Downey Jr. is coveted as being the best and only portrayal of the MCU character, Iron Man. While Downey also became well known for his on-screen portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, he also did one voice role on television. In the fourth season of Family Guy, Lois learns that she has a brother.

Voiced by Downey, Patrick was sent to a psychiatric hospital after walking in on his mother's affair as a child. Lois, who is actually his long-lost sister, goes to visit him and deems him mentally fit and has him released, unaware that Patrick really is mentally unwell and a serial killer.

5 Samuel L. Jackson: Lucius (The Incredibles)

There have been countless memes made of the comical moment in The Incredibles when Lucius can't find his super suit. The superhero character was voiced by none other than Samuel L. Jackson. Jackson is well-known for lending his impressive voice for television and animated movies.

His role as Lucius is almost more recognizable than some of his other roles in Quentin Tarantino movies or as Nick Fury in the MCU. It's comical to realize that the voice role is also that of a superhero, but this one has the real power to freeze water.

4 Tom Holland: Walter Beckett (Spies In Disguise)

The animated spy-comedy movie, Spies in Disguise, not only had Tom Holland voicing the main character of Walter, but also Karen Gillan as Eyes. Holland played the socially inept super-scientist who gets entangled with the worlds' best spy. After a fluke accident, the spy gets turned into a pigeon.

Scarlett Johansson has been a part of the MCU since her debut in the second Iron Man movie in 2010. But before MCU stardom, she also voiced a character in a movie about a yellow sponge when the acclaimed children's animated show, SpongeBob SquarePants got its first movie in 2004.

It's up to SpongeBob and Patrick to save the Krabby Patty formula and stop Plankton, who stole King Neptune's crown and framed the crime on Mr. Krabb's. Along the way, SpongeBob meets Princess Mindy who gives them encouragement and tricks them by making them think she's "turned them into men" so that they have the guts to continue their journey. Mindy was voiced by Johansson.

2 Benedict Cumberbatch: Grinch (The Grinch)

Jim Carrey's famed holiday movie and character in How the Grinch Stole Christmas got a reboot in 2018. There were some differences and similarities between both versions and instead of Carrey, the green and grumpy character was voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch.

The animated version followed a similar idea to the original. The Grinch becomes increasingly grumpy as Whoville is ready to celebrate Christmas. To get some peace and quiet, the Grinch hatches a plan to steal Christmas and all of Whoville's holiday joy.

1 Zoe Saldana: María Posada (The Book Of Life)

In 2014, Guillermo Del Toro produced a new 3D animated movie, The Book of Life, centered around the colorful and heartfelt storyline of a Mexican bullfighter. The story starts with a fight between Manolo Sánchez (Diego Luna) and Joaquín Mondragon (Channing Tatum), wagering on who will get to love María, voiced by Zeo Saldana.

When Maria and Manolo confess their love, they are interrupted and Maria is bitten by a snake. Manolo thinks she's dead and dies as well, hoping to be reconnected in the afterlife. Once he learns that she is alive, he fights for a way to leave the afterlife and return to his love.
