me and my on going theory that the reason why all the senshi have terrible (or dead) parents EXCEPT for Usagi is because Queen Serenity wanted to make them devoted to Usagi so she rearranged fate for them to have lonely lives

and you're probably thinking Kat that's a really dark take on Queen Serenity but have you considered

woman who made a bunch of toddlers into child soldiers and took them away from their respective kingdoms to protect her infant daughter might not be on the up and up
