“one thousand?! yesterday it was eight hundred.” he protested, while you rolled your eyes.

“inflation darling.” you responded fluttering your eyelashes, it was his turn to roll his eyes. in the next moment you heard the sound of notification coming from your phone.

“done and thank you.” he said annoyed and turned around to walk back to his friends. you smiled to yourself and headed back to your room.

what you didn’t know was the two women standing in the parking lot watching your every step.

“she’s a literal child.” said okoye looking at shuri.

“she’s a genius.” the girl corrected her, eyes still glued to you.

“i will handle it” the woman said wanting to follow you, but shuri stopped her with one of her hands.

“let me do it. no one will suspect anything, i can blend into the students” she argued still not letting go of her.

“why? do i look bad?” general asked which took shuri by surprise. “it’s the shade isn’t it? i thought it looked good.”

“noo you look great.” shuri sayid being a little amused by the sudden direction this conversation have taken.

“you sure?” the woman asked wanting to be assured.

“yes. now, let me talk with the girl.” shuri said gesturing to the building which you disappeared in a moment ago.

“you got five minutes. then i come in.” okoye smiled with her most loveable smile, but shuri knew better than that.

“i don’t take requests in person. i’ve got a whole damn website for it.” you said but your mouth went dry when you saw who was the person standing before your room. it was shuri. as in princess shuri. as in shuri princess of wakanda. and as the most pretty girl you’ve seen. wait-

“you… i-i mean princess-“ you started but shuri silenced you by putting a finger on her lips and quickly slipped into your room.

“you are the genius who constructed the vibranium machine, right?” she asked even tho she knew the answer. you just nodded your head, being a bit nervous because of the way she called you a genius.

“shuri” you stated still not believing your eyes and ears. “what are you doing here? i-i mean has i done something bad? did i annoy wakanda or something?” you started rambling but shuri got into your words.

“not only us.” she stated looking around your room, being too distracted by it to be only looking at you. she noticed many posters on your walls and many pictures of your hobbies and current hyper fixations.

“then who else?” you asked getting a little anxious by this whole situation.

“for your own safety i can’t say. but i need you to pack up your things and go back with me to wakanda.” she said finally landing her eyes on you.

“but princess, when?” you asked still being unable to believe in all of this.

shuri felt her cheeks warm up a little when you again, used her title. not that it was something new to her, almost everyone in wakanda used it, but just the way you said it, have changed something in this sentence. “right now.” she explained looking into your eyes.

“what?!” you screamed not being able to control your own voice in that moment. “but i can’t! i got differentiation lesson in a few minutes! i can’t just leave like that.” you protested and shuri bit her lower lip starting to worry.

“trust me. you’re not safe here but in wakanda nothing bad will happen to you. i can promise you that.” she was trying to convince you, but you felt like you were in some kind of a dream.

“i assume that, princess.” you said noticing this time how shuri reacted to the title. she scratched the back of her neck, looking away from you for a minute, needing time to think on how to finally convince you. “but i can’t just leave.” you argued also needing to think for a bit.

“y/n listen…” she started, but you stopped her.

“no.” you said rubbing your eye with one hand. “i- i need to refresh myself.” you said going straight to the bathroom.

the moment you entered the room, shuri heard your scream. her attention instantly turned to you who were now running away from the bathroom while okoye was walking slowly behind you. you ran to your desk and grabbed the first thing you could find, which was a loudspeaker.

“one step closer, and you’ll regret it.” you said, which made the woman laugh. “i’m serious!”

“oh, sure you are.” she said looking at you like you were some kind of an idiot. “look shuri, she got a loudspeaker!” she imitated you which made your blood boil. “listen little girl, there are two options: you come with us to wakanda conscious or unconscious.” she smiled at the end what gave you another dose of anxiety.

“you must’ve been unconscious when you were putting on makeup today.” you said, the first thing that came to your mind. woman in front of you was clearly surprised, but the princess started to laugh.

“that’s funny?” she asked the girl, with murder in her eyes.

“no, no it’s not.” she answered trying to control her laugh.

“i told you i looked bad.” she said, gently hitting shuri’s arm.

“you look good.” shuri said, trying to calm down okoye a bit. she just rolled her eyes. “hey, hey, listen.” she stepped a little closer to you. “we just want to keep you safe.”

“you know what?” okoye stepped in again. “let’s leave her here and let her deal with namor himself, alone.” she smiled and your blood ran cold.

“stop it.” you whined. “i don’t know what to do.” you said mostly to yourself.

“so let us help.” shuri came even closer, now standing right in front of you. “nothing bad will happen to you while you’re with us.” she assured you, also taking one of your hands in her. you uncontrollably blushed.

“i think it won’t be that hard to convince her.” okoye stated looking amused while looking at you and then at shuri. you blushed even more at her comment at this time even shuri noticed it.

“don’t listen to her.” shuri said, while looking right into your eyes. “it’s just her thing” she smiled at you and you felt your cheeks warm up more.

“thank you princess.” you said being hypnotised by her eyes. this time, shuri gently smiled at your response.

“i see what’s going on here, princess.” okoye commented again. “but please, focus on the mission first and then you will be free to flirt as much as you two want to.” she added, waiting for your reply.

“okoye, get a grip.” shuri scoffed her, but okoye just acted hurt.

“we’re not flirting.” you protested. “i wouldn’t dare to do such a thing with the princess.” you added what made both woman laugh but shuri’s face stayed a little red.

“don’t miss your chance. i can guarantee you, the princess wouldn’t mind it.” she said, specifically marking shuri’s title.

“she’s insane.” shuri commented still looking at your face and then into your eyes when they landed on her again. “but she’s not wrong.” she whispered winking at you. if you think you were already red, i don’t know how you looked right now.

“girls, seriously.” okoye broke the tension again. “pack. up.” she said with a very strong accent.

“will you go with us?” shuri asked you, with hope in her eyes.

“i don’t have a choice apparently.” you said breathing out hard.

“you will love wakanda, i promise. and we will be able to keep you safe there.” shuri repeated herself, while letting go of your hand.

“the princess will make sure of the first part.” okoye added smiling at the both of you. shuri only rolled her eyes at this.

“fine, i will go.” you stated, which earned a smile from shuri. “but we need to go to my workshop first. i have all my projects there.” you said, making the conversation serious again.

“we got you.” shuri said smiling at you even more, when okoye shook her at the two of you.

ok i’m about to go to bed but i’m like halfway thru the main stories of everyone and here’s my octopath 2 thoughts so far:

gameplay:

also, i learned how concoct works finally and i am now a true concoct beliver. luv u castti <3

a lot of stuff was nerfed for some classes, some of it i like, some of it i miss

-no more 8stack reflect magic damage, RIP. cleric final ability is no longer a double cast but instead allows the target to take an extra turn after everyone else (i like this one, opens a lot of cool stuff you can do, but you also need to manage bp more if you wanna max your damage or casts instead of just getting double. cleric also now has an SP stealing staff move, reflect is replaced with a shielding move that prevents a % of damage based on boost, and also gains a physical and elemental buff. overall really good changes to the class.

scholar no longer has double hit spells. i kinda miss these, i really didn’t get much use out of the new skills scholar has, except for elemental barrage, which can be good for scouting weaknesses or big damage if solo targeting. but it means enemies with primarily magic based weaknesses are more annoying to break.

i think those two classes got the biggest overhauls. everything else of the 8 main classes seems to have its biggest tools intact (leghold, donate bp, etc) so i was pretty familiar with how to setup and beat bosses pretty efficiently. i do miss the generic multi hit wind and dark spells a lot tho….

otherwise, despite overall nerfs to some of the stronger more abusable strategies (i’m told runelord tressa equivalent is still in the game tho) latent power is balancing that out by being also busted as hell and fun to use. all of them are unique and a fun extra management tool that can make or break your turns. (poor castti tho, if you have enough money, hers is kind of irrelevant.)

ok anyways MINOR GAMEPLAY SPOILER TIME. THIS IS A SPOILER WARNING FOR MINOR PARTS OF CASTTI, HIKARI, PARTITIO, AND THRONE’S BOSS FIGHTS IN THEIR CHAPTERS.

SPOILERS START HERE:

ok. don’t really like how casttis chapter 4 boss has basically the same gimmick as alfyns, with max hp reducing poison. i think this fight is harder than alfyns by a little bit tho.

Hikaris final chapter is. super long. there’s 3 whole boss fights in the last chapter, so be ready for a lot of those in a row. i found the second boss harder than the third fight tho.. lol. it’s again also kinda similar to olberics ch4 so i already knew how to cheese it a bit, though it wasn’t as easy to set up on this guy.

partitios ch4 was piss easy, just did not hit very hard lol. and i don’t think the boss has that much health

throne ch4 was also pretty easy, but had a pretty cool unique mechanic. makes you play a bit different with it because of it, so you gotta get creative sometimes or compromise on your damage etc. good stuff even if it wasn’t too bad on me.

OK. THIS IS STORY SPOILER WARNING. IM GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE 4 CHAPTERS I JUST MENTIONED, SO CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED

SPOILERS NOW:

casttis story was ok. didn’t like it as much as alfyns in ot1 but it wasn’t terrible. i think i’m just usually not that big on amnesia plot lines. i like castti a lot in her travel banters tho, she’s actually pretty funny compared to how serious she always is in her story chapters.

hikari was pretty alright too. i think his evil demon blood is probably tied to galdera in some way, but they never actually explain where it comes from in his route and i was kinda waiting on it the whole time. kinda funny he becomes king and all, gets crowned, and then we’re off to go to partitios silly capitalism project with the new king of ku in tow.

partitio himself is probably my favorite traveler so far, but i think his story falls a little flat at the end. mostly because mr roque gets literally no comeuppance at the end despite literally ruining multiple towns worth’s of peoples lives by putting them in abject poverty and extorting them. partitio just goes i’ll hire you and we’re back to hunky-dory. kinda wish he didn’t accept defeat and suicided or was killed by his own creation or something more fitting, partitio never even confronts him for scamming his family and altering the contract. like come on man.

Throne. i don’t know how i feel about this one, the chapter 4 is. insane. you will never predict how the fuck her story wraps up, so i actually won’t even say even with the spoiler warning. just go fucking play the chapter 4 lol. i like the stuff in her chapter 3s with mother and father tho, even if it’s edgy and whatever. throne also has some fun travel dialogues, i like her well enough. it’s just that the chapter 4 is so bonkers i can’t decide how i feel about it and her lol. idk

looking forward to the other 4! i think all the stories are solid despite if it seems like im saying otherwise here, they’re definitely on par with the first game, which i think had quite a bit simpler plots lol. cant wait to get to the cross character chapters as well!

My goblin monkey brain gets bored and/or distracted too easily watching dramas, like I've been in situations where I say I soooo love a drama after watching two or five episodes of it and then gets too busy to continue and/or my monkey brain can't be bothered to pick up anymore

A disturbing lack of Ayo and Aneka posts so I'll add more lmao. This post is not about new info I've found on them(sadly). This post is more on using the info I've learnt on them to form a bunch of speculations and headcanons. (Warning: Another essay incoming)

1. So I've mentioned before that Ayo has two 'confirmed' family members, Assata and Ala right? Not much is said about Ayo's grandmother, but we learn that Assata suffered a rare illness that leads to her having to use a wheelchair. Perhaps Aneka helps Ayo look after Assata and Ala? Would probably be pretty cute ngl. Assata teasing Ayo about Aneka when they are trying to take care of her, Ala giving Aneka the shovel talk, both leaving Ayo flustered lmao. Perhaps they also help Assata with her Dora Milaje training along with Okoye. That would be pretty cool to see. (If you want to know more on Assata, you should read the book Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: Courage to Dream. Here is a link to a read-aloud of it I found on YT:

2. (BP: WF Spoilers here) So in the movie, Ayo becomes the new General of the Dora Milaje while Aneka is part of the Midnight Angels(I'm not sure whether Aneka is still part of the Dora Milaje or whether she was kicked out of the Dora Milaje. That part I'm still not sure about, I'll assume that she isn't tho, as convenience for this headcanon) Since now the 2 girlfriends are now in 'separate teams', I wonder how their relationship would be affected. (If it's assumed that the Midnight Angels are like a separate entity from the Dora Milaje and not like a subgroup of it) Especially for Ayo. She probably would have a hard time choosing between staying loyal to the country and staying with Aneka. I believe Aneka would not have a hard time choosing, she's the rebellious one, so she would probably choose to remain with her girlfriend. But Ayo, who knows? I wonder how they will go about it. Might make some cool AyoxAneka angst(even if it hurts 😭)

3. So from Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we know that Ayo and Bucky have a close bond. I'm not entirely sure what kind of bond they have, I personally headcanon them as best friends lmao. Cause of this, I wonder how Bucky would react to Aneka. He would probably tease Ayo about it. Maybe Bucky thirdwheels the two of them, or maybe they go on a double date with Bucky and his partner(Could be Sarah Wilson, or maybe Sam?? 👀) Either way, honestly I think Bucky would be supportive of their relationship. Ayo supported him through one of his toughest times so I think he'd definitely return the favour.

4. (BP:WF Spoilers here) In the movie, I realise that Shuri and Aneka seem quite close. At least, close enough that Shuri gives Aneka the new technology she made for the Dora Milaje to test out. I wonder if Shuri knows of Ayo and Aneka's relationship? Honestly I can imagine Shuri teasing Aneka about Ayo lmao. Maybe whenever Shuri sees the two of them together, she waggles(is that a word?) her eyebrows at them until they both get flustered lmao. That would be so funny to see.

5. (Slight BP:WF spoilers here) When watching the movie, I realised that Ayo and Aneka's characters are kind of switched in a way. I'm not sure whether Ayo was the captain of the Dora Milaje, but in the MCU Ayo seems to have a higher role in the Dora Milaje than Aneka. In the MCU, Aneka seems to be the newbie in the Dora Milaje(Assumed since Aneka's character is only introduced in BP:WF) while Ayo was the newbie to the Dora Milaje in the World of Wakanda comic. Cause of this, I wonder how Ayo and Aneka met in the MCU. Maybe it's the same way in the comics but reversed? MCU Aneka seems to have gotten Comic Ayo's rebellious spirit. Or maybe it's a different way? Honestly can't wait to find out.

ok so like i got a little worried at first because they imitated the try g*ys set up in the beginning which couldve gone really wrong because the try g*ys handled that situation REALLY WELL and im sick of seeing them be shamed or made fun of for it (SNL skit and NYT article) but it really delved into the hate THEY faced after dropping sell out and a bunch of the comments and DMs they showed were really hateful (some of them were homophobic, others telling them to kill themselves, and there were some that were racist which was really weird bc the groups they support r asian too??? so idk i dont really get those ones) and it’s honestly really clear that thats not even the worst of the hate they received… its just really sad and messed up.

i didnt expect that twoset would address the issue again after the ll40hrs episode we got a day or two ago, but im really glad they did. its oftentimes that overly obsessed fandoms (not just kp0p, tho those fandoms r definitely the more well known ones) can get really really hateful, and in the process they cross a lot of lines and are unapologetic about it. no matter how you twist it, nothing gratifies you with the right to tell others to kill themselves, or to threaten their families. you dont get to call others faggots, and you dont get to make fun of others because of how they look or their race. no one deserves that kind of fear or tasteless hate, no matter what they’ve done. you cant justify that sort of behavior— if who you’re “standing up for” believes that sort of behavior is okay, then a) their morals are WAY out of place, and b) maybe you shouldn’t be standing up for someone who thinks its okay to tell others to off themselves (not saying that bp or anyone condones their fans behavior, just saying that as a fact in general). im nearly 100% sure that whoever ur standing up for would think it to be disgusting and disappointing to know that their supporters are the types of people to wish bodily and mental harm onto others for reasons that aren’t justifiable.

i know for a fact that the people who do these types of things r a minority of the fandom, at least in most cases. it’s just that that minority is so loud that the normal parts of the fandom get drowned out, but its the fact that that minority can be heard and can be/is harmful to others that’s really messed up. i know that not all kp0p fans are as bad as these ones, and i’m friends with a lot of kp0p stans and i know for a fact that they would shame this behavior, but the way that the loud minority has decided to act and continues to act has completely tarnished the name of being a kp0p stan. i know it’s like a “joke” to say stuff like “oh you cant say that, the stans will come for you!” but the thing is that it’s not a joke. you really have to be careful of what u say or else those “stans,” that small but vocal minority will literally come for you.

it’s just so disheartening to see this behavior repeated again and again. you dont know this person’s situation, and you don’t know what they’re going through. being told to kill themselves could totally just be someone’s last straw, and the people who perpetuated that might just celebrate that they got rid of another hater. that type of behavior isn’t normal, and the fact that it’s gone on for so many years atp despite being called out is just so… i don’t know how to describe it.

like— if the tables were turned, and it was the group you’re stanning who was getting harassed by deranged fans, if they were being told to kill themselves, or if they were being called slurs that didn’t apply to them, or if they were being made fun of for the look of their eyes and the way they speak english, that behavior would be just as bad as the behavior that is constantly displayed against twoset and other people for jokes that are made, because it’s literally the same exact thing. if you wouldn’t do it to your faves, then don’t do it to anyone else. no matter if you care about them kr not, that behavior is disgusting and inexcusable in any situation.

going back to the OG video— i hope twoset is okay. they handled the situation really well, i think, and while it doesn’t really seem as though the comments and DMs got to them as much, i still really hope that theyre okay and that they know they’ve got people who love and care about them. i also can’t really imagine my best friend saying all those hurtful things to me, even if i know it’s fake. personally, thats just me and im honestly like— super sensitive (lol) but i also hope that brett and eddy filmed that, then went out and got lots of bubble tea and fried chicken together and just reminded each other abt how much they care and that in any real situation, nothing could come to them calling those each other those things irl (whether that would be a verbal or non verbal confirmation is up to u).

Here's a brief long update. The last one I posted here apparently happened less than a week before Shit Got Real™. It has been a w i l d ride. Things are more or less fine now! But here's what I've been doing!

TW: medical details, infertility, getting the shit kicked out of me by life

Highlight reel from July 2021:

July 3: Hosted 'Murica Day party at our house, had a lovely time. I had the bright idea to set up a slip n slide. Promptly broke tailbone using said bright idea.

July 4: Rented a trencher to run power and water line from the house to our future chicken coop site. Hit the water main to the house while trenching. (Yes we called 811 beforehand, no they didn't mark the main, they didn't mark a damn thing past the meter tbh)

July 4 thru like 11: fixing the issue in 95+ degree (F) heat with broken tailbone and restoring water service (we are Rural™ so it was all us)

July 15: I was in bed and needed to blow my nose. I decided to sit up while doing that. (TLDR: don't do that) I felt a Bad Thing at the base of my skull and had instant severe headache...that persisted for the next several months.

July 16+: ER visit after ER visit. Scan after scan. So many scans.

It took them a while to figure it out (we thought it was an unruptured aneurysm or something at first), but it turns out I had a pituitary tumor that started hemorrhaging (aka pituitary apoplexy), resulting in severe headaches, light sensitivity, intolerance to exercise/increased BP, taste and smell distortions, and pain that refused to respond to medication until, uh, about Halloween when I had surgery.

To say that I've had a lifetime's worth of doc appointments in the last year would be an understatement. I got fabulous care but I never want to see a neurosurgeon again. There are a bunch of meds I will be on forever. We will need IVF to have kids (that's coming down the pipe next year hopefully!). I had the energy level of a spent AAA battery for most of '22.

But--for now--I'm good. No headaches. I have a roughly normal amount of energy. And exertion doesn't leave me in bed the next day!

I'm still collecting specialists like Pokemon unfortunately. That part's exhausting. Medical fatigue is real y'all.

as expected the film was SO FUCKING GOOD

they rly hit in the feels so damn hard ESP IN THE END WTF I THOUGHT WE WERE THROUGH IT AND BAM THEY JUST MADE ME FUCKING CRY AGAIN RIGHT THEN AND THERE WTF WTF WTF MY HEART UGH

i am SO proud of shuri! she was so so well done! one of my biggest concerns for her was that she just wouldn't feel like a leader - in bp1 and a:iw she's a fun character and amazing and everything, but not serious. not someone who understands politics well enough. i felt like the only next logical queen and bp of wakanda should be nakia. but they managed to give her the necessary and logical character growth while still keeping her true to her character. she's still her, just older and wiser and they rly did that well

loved literally all the characters from namor to riri to m'baku and okoye - they all have so much personality it's so refreshing

didn't like how ramonda died tho. i mean i didn't like she died at all but she deserved a more worthy death than that imo

SHURI MEETING KILLMONGER IN THE ANCESTRAL PLANE WAS SO FUCKING UNEXPECTED WTF WTF I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WOULD HAPPEN!!!! THEY DID THAT SO WELL!!!! AND THE WAY SHE SHOWED SHE'S NOT LIKE HIM AFTER ALL, YESSS!!!!!

also even tho the film is long it didn't feel too long. there's literally no scene i think they should've cut, it was a captivating story from beginning to the end

not a fan of the teased relationship between aneka and okoye tho. first of all, aneka kissing okoye on the head and okoye saying "thank you, love" is not the lgbtq representation you think it is, marvel, and secondly aneka is ayo's girlfriend in the comics - ayo was right there. also i just like okoye and w'kabi. yes, they had their disagreements in bp1 but so had pepperony - and the way he gave in in the end for her? just to not be in this film at all? mh, didn't like that :/

no but otherwise everything's so beautifully done - the feels the culture (the balance between religious belief and shuri's belief in only her own hands and technology!!!! SO WELL DONE!!!) the visuals the music - loved it!!! absofuckinglutely rewatching this again as soon as it's out online!!!!

all tree of you get out of the car at the parking of your workshop. there was a light turned on inside, you could see it through one of the windows. she was there.

you quickly passed shuri and okoye being the first one to enter. with a slight amount of strength, you pressed the handle and in no time you smelled home.

opening door for the two women you get out of the way for them to come in and also going fast to your stand looking for the thing you originally came here for.

shuri was literally amazed when she saw everything that you and your friend were working on there. she couldn’t pull away her eyes.

“yo” suddenly you heard a voice. you knew it’d finally happen.

“hey” you responded. shuri and okoye were standing in a line with a confused looks on their faces, a really precious picture if i’m gonna be honest.

“woo, whose that?” your friend asked finally emerging from her stand.

“that’s shuri, princess of wakanda and her friend who’s also her bodyguard” you explained to the poor girl.

“hey” shuri greeted herself and riri immediately smiled at her.

“hi princess” she greeted too and you not intentionally rolled you eyes at her words. you haven’t noticed you were being watched.

“YOU BUILT THIS?” shuri scream looking up and seeing riri’s armor.

“yea, almost everything in here was built by us.” she responded looking really proud.

“you guys are incredible.” shuri said still not pulling away her eyes.

“geniuses.” okoye commented also looking around.

you finally approached your stand and turned on your computer with all your plans and everything inside.

“you keep such important plans on your laptop?” okoye asked you looking very concerned.

“you wouldn’t have a chance breaking into it.” you said feeling a little bold.

“imagine forgetting one of those passwords.” shuri laughed watching all of your works.

“there was this one time,” riri replied, catching shuri’s attention. “i forgot it, and spend a whole semester breaking into my own account” she laughed at which shuri just smiled.

you felt your blood boiling. even though you didn’t know why.

“that’s what happens when you’re forgetful.” you sarcastically smiled at your best friend.

“why so mean?” riri asked which came out more rhetorical. you huffed. okoye on the other hand, smiled to herself watching this whole interaction.

“how long did it take you to build this?” shuri asked her, pointing to the armor under the metal ceiling.

“almost my whole life.” she replied also looking up at it. “the work of my life.” she laughed and shuri did the same.

“without stark’s plans you’d have nothing.” you said sounding more mean that you wanted.

“that’s half true tho.” riri responded not catching or just ignoring your tone. “but help is always appreciated right?” she said smiling and shuri just nodded.

“you also have a lot of talent i mean, without it you’d be nowhere.” shuri replied looking at riri with pure excitement. similar to the look she gave you when you were at the campus.

“to be young, gifted and black, right?” riri said, which earned her a chuckle from okoye and a bright smile from shuri. oh, and another roll of your eyes but they probably haven’t noticed that.

“it’s beautiful.” shuri said turning around and glueing her eyes to the motorcycle.

“one of my works.” riri replied claiming everything you did on it, to herself.

“you wish.” you whispered but everyone in the room heard you.

“don’t even think about it shuri.” warned okoye seeing the glint in shuri’s eyes.

“of course i won’t.” she responded shrugging her shoulders like it’s the clearest thing on the planet.

“y/n helped a bit with renovation but making it work was all me.” riri said, lying again.

“you sure about it?” you asked taking out the keys from your pocket and pushing one of the buttons you had attached to your pendant. the motorcycle immediately got to work and started making noise. you then quickly turned it off.

“fine. she helped a bit.” riri said with a rather jokingly tone. “but! i was the one to even bring it here” she said which was also half true.

“okaaay.” you said feeling the need to end this conversation and wanting all the attention to be directed back at you. “now i just need to find the file and we’ll be done.” you said like it was the most important thing you’ve ever said.

“great.” said okoye. “then we can head back to wakanda finally.” she added feeling the need to make her statement.

“you didn’t say anything?!” riri shouted coming up to you and hitting your arm. “an adventure in wakanda! girl, what happened when i was here?” she said not believing your words.

“yeah, yeah, i would prefer to be in class right now.” you said, eyes still glued to the screen.

“i’m not believing ya.” she said gesturing. “you are in for something you probably won’t forget till the end of your days. how could you pick school over it?” she asked rhetorically but you wanted to answer so bad, so you did.

“school has something to do with my future.” you responded harshly.

“you say that like this wouldn’t have something to do with you future.” she said directing her attention to shuri again. you didn’t quiet catch what she meant.

“i can’t believe you got access to those plans” shuri said suddenly breaking your conversation. she come up to the big board with so many papers sticked to it and started reading everything. riri was next to her in no time and wanted to explain everything but shuri didn’t let her. “i would love to work with these one day.” she said touching one of the papers wanting to look under it. riri wanted to show her more of the plans so she also touched the paper. suddenly their hands met while grabbing one of them. riri quickly looked at shuri and a small blush was creeping up on her face while she took her hand away the fasted you have ever seen. your attention which was directed at the two of them from the time they started standing before the board, came back to the laptop screen pretending to be searching for the file hard. you heard okoye laugh at the whole situation.

“oh princess.” she started and you knew it wasn’t gonna be good. “i think you should come to the city more. the girls here are pretty crazy about you.”

and you lost it.

impetuously you closed the computer getting everyone’s attention once again. “done.” you smiled sarcastically and this time riri rolled her eyes at you. you knew she wasn’t seriously mad it was just for the act. you came up to okoye handing her the laptop.

“great we can go ba-“ okoye started but at the same time all of us heard a siren. a police siren.

“you brought FBI and police to our place?!” riri screamed and shuri automatically shut her mouth putting a hand on it.

“riri, use the secret door. i’ll see you when i’m back.” you said worried. she nodded and quickly came up to you, for a hug. you squeezed her tight and then let her go watching as her posture disappears behind the little door.

“i thought it’d be peaceful for once.” you exhaled while grabbing all the papers from the board and thrusting then into a can, to burn them.

“girls get in to the car, we need to be fast.” okoye said walking to the car.

“be careful please!” you shouted not caring for a moment about people outside. “it’s… special.” you said and shuri nodded at your words.

“of course.” she said walking up to the car too, and attaching something to it. you turned on the torch and just threw it to the can with papers.

“i’m not going with you.” you stated and both women looked at you with shock.

“y/n you need to g-“ you interrupted okoye.

“no. i’m still going with you two i’m just gonna try something.” you explained clicking one of the buttons on your desk. suddenly the ceiling opened even more to expose something you were working almost all your life on.

“that must have taken you all your life” shuri said amazed by you again. “and tell me you also built it alone and i’m gonna throw hands.” she said immediately looking up and seeing metallic wings attached by strings to the final window on the ceiling.

“it took only like eighteen years.” you smiled and pushed another button making wings not so slowly come down to the height you were able to take them off the strings and put on your back.

“open the gate for us.” shuri demanded and you did just that, loving how you could finally use almost all of the buttons.

“okay, now, shuri get in.” okoye said sitting behind the wheel.

“i’m sorry okoye but we’ll catch up! griot drive!” she quickly said and the engine get to work.

“yes princess” the al answered her.

“shuri!” okoye screamed while being driven away from your workshop.

“she’ll be fine.” shuri said to you and you smiled at her, putting on your wings.

“i’m certain.” you smiled even more and shuri quickly came up to you. you weren’t sure what was happening.

“now, have this.” shuri said putting something behind your ear. “it’s a tracker so you can be in touch with us all the time.” she said and her hand cupped your cheek for a bit. she was looking right into your eyes and you felt like you’re gonna melt any moment now. she smiled seeing the blush forming on your face.

“thank you princess.” you said the only thing that came up to your mind at that moment. she licked her lips still smiling and suddenly took her hand away going towards her desired machine.

“now let’s go, we need to escape them.” she said hopping on the motorcycle and immediately starting it, which you weren’t sure how she did it. but besides that, you didn’t need to be told twice. shuri drove right out of your workshop and in no time you flew after her.

you couldn’t believe you were finally using your wings. the thing you worked most of your life on and one of your biggest dreams. it was like a dream come true, literally.

all of the action were happening so fast you didn’t know how you could catch up. but you did. and you did it excellent.

after shooting down the huge drone you landed on the bridge; the place all three of you were supposed to meet up again. and right in the moment when your feet were about to touch the ground you felt an unimaginable pain in your ankle. and it that moment - everything went black.
