i think rio was characterized this way because while she thrives in chaos, it's just like she said.

she is death, but she's also a green witch, which means that she is the embodiment of nature.

there is nothing more chaotic than the things that occur in nature, and death is also intrinsic to keeping that chaos in balance

rio has no choice but to keep the balance, for the sake of humanity. she spelled out her motivations so plainly and it seems that the biggest thing agatha has in common with rio is that they are both tragically misunderstood

and ive said it once but ill say it again Looking back on Agatha’s story, yes I do feel a mix of admiration and frustration. There was so much potential in exploring her relationship with Rio and the complex layers of her own journey, which felt overshadowed in the end. and honestly at times, the focus on Agatha's role as a mother felt like it could have been handled differently and as some people are saying Instead of fully delving into Agatha’s growth, her story was ultimately used to "elevate Billy’s arc", leaving her character, her grief, and her love for Rio without the closure they deserved..... That being said again while it's fair to wish for a bit more closure for characters like Agatha, Rio, Jen, and Alice i really dont think coming at jac is the right way to go....cuz honestly i feel like if this show was handled by anyone else but her it mightve been far dissapointing SO JAC SCHAEFFER, WE SEE YOU, WE HEAR YOU AND WE TRUST YOU!!! heres to hoping for a season 2 of AAA or a spinoff of lady death

Please PLEASE do not lose your shit again, it was awful and frankly embarrassing how so many people reacted to us getting a Billy background instead of Agathario

Back off of Jac Schaeffer

I'm aware that I'm just yelling into the void, (the people who need to hear this won't read it, and the people who will read this already agree) but I need to say something, in good conscience.

Back off of Jac (and Kathryn too).

I understand people are upset about "queerbaiting" and what they are percieving as a "sidelining" of a sapphic relationship in favor of a mlm one.

That's not what's happening here, at all. Your tantrums, threats, and bullying are counterproductive- all you are doing is making fools of yourselves, and disincentizing creatives from wanting to engage with complex sapphic narrative; or sapphic narratives at all.

If even touching a sapphic relationship is going to get actors and showrunners harassed if they aren't "endgame" or the "main couple" ("where's the kiss?" "when will they scissor?") or whatever the hell the platonic ideal of a sapphic relationship is, they are not going to want to engage in them any more. And those potential storylines are going to go to straight couples or couples of other orientations instead- exactly the thing you all are railing against.

Do you not see how you are working against yourselves?

I also think you people are forgetting that the opposition doesn't see the difference between the different kinds of queer- they just see us all as one minority who need to be silenced. When we fight and divide, we are serving their agenda, not our own.

And stop being fucking weird in Kathryn Hahn's instagram comments. You might think you're being cute or joking, but she's a middle aged woman who's been terminally offline- she doesn't get it, and I predict as soon as the show is done, she's going to bail, because of the level of harassment. Would you say in front of your parents some of the shit people have been putting in her comments?

Your entitlement and whining isn't attractive, or funny, and you are ruining the future prospects of another well crafted show from such a large conglomerate. Jac and company worked hard against their corporate overlords to bring us this celebration of the queer community, and this is the dust you're paying them in return.

I don't think Agatha willingly gave up her son and here's why:

Her reaction to the Darkhold in the cradle was visceral, okay? I just reblogged the post that even says that's not the reaction of a woman who willingly gives up her child. So I don't think she did.

What I think is that Nicholas got sick. Like really, really sick. So sick that there was no way he was going to get better. Maybe Rio was warning her about it. Maybe Rio was trying to set the expectation that hey, Nicholas isn't going to get better, you should prepare yourself for that, but Agatha ignored it. Agatha figured that she's in a relationship with Death, herself, so there's no way that her son is going to die and be taken away from her. But Rio keeps reminding her "I don't want to do this, but it's my job. I can't chose not to."

And Agatha gets desperate. As she's watching her baby boy get sicker and weaker. I'm not totally sure how old he was when he died. I'm imagining him as a baby or toddler. A size that Agatha can still hold in her arms. Maybe he won't eat anymore and it worries her. And she knows that the only way to make him better, the only chance at keeping her son, is by getting her hands on the Darkhold. Dark magic is the only thing that can keep him with her, alive.

Rio, obviously, advises against this. Dark magic is trouble and Agatha will not be the same if she does this. Agatha ignores her. She makes a coven and forces Rio down The Road with her, begging her to help save her son. Rio, loving Agatha so deeply, agrees, and they set off down the Witches' Road.

The other three witches obviously don't make it, as we know. The other witch who survives (of course bc she cannot die) is Rio. Agatha acquires the Darkhold and rushes back to her son's side.

But she's too late. Nicholas is gone. He died while she was on the road. He was alone in his last moments, probably in his bassinet. Agatha missed it in her ambition to get her hands on the Darkhold. She probably will never forgive herself for it.

Rio felt the second he died, but probably didn't tell Agatha because there was nothing they could have done at that point.

Agatha is resolute, though. She starts looking for a resurrection spell for Nicholas, which Rio panics about because that is not what Agatha wants, she tells her. Nicholas won't come back right. He will never truly be alive. He will be a corpse, reanimated. His soul is already departing.

"Not if you don't let it," Agatha says, because Rio is in charge of reaping the souls, of ferrying them to the afterlife. She's Death, after all.

"It doesn't work like that," Rio says, softly and apologetically, reaching out to stroke Agatha's cheek. Agatha slaps her hand away and continues to frantically search through the book, but Rio can't let this happen. Nicholas would never be right. He wouldn't be the boy Agatha--that both of them love. Never again.

So she reaps his soul, takes it away before Agatha can start her spell. Agatha begs her to stop, to let her have her son, to not do this please.

"If you love me, you won't take him away from me," she says, desperate and angry and so, so hurt.

Rio doesn't look back. She's holding Nicholas's soul in her arms, cradling him because he's 100% her son, too. Her baby. She holds him more tightly.

"I'm doing this because I love you," she says, without looking back. She keeps walking while Agatha wails behind her, Rio fighting back tears as she listens to her wife's heart break.

Rio tries to return after reaping her son's soul, wants to apologize and beg at Agatha's feet for forgiveness...but she's not there.

Before, Rio could have found Agatha anywhere. She always knew where she was, like a homing beacon on her heart. But now Agatha is just...gone. The home they once shared together is completely empty, not a soul or piece of furniture in side. Except for Nicholas's bassinet, empty. She can't feel Agatha anymore. She doesn't know if she's alive or dead, but she's pretty sure she knows why.

The Darkhold. Agatha used a spell in the Darkhold to shroud herself from Death, to keep Rio from finding her again. Grief echoes in Rio's heart at the loss of the two most important people in her life. Then anger begins to burn low in her stomach.

Anger at her job. Anger at the Darkhold. Anger at Agatha. Murderous rage takes root in her chest, where her heart used to beat for Agatha Harkness and their son. Both are gone now.

But she will find Agatha. One day. And she is going to kill her...or make her wish she were dead. Either will suffice at this point.

In a teaser trailer scene, their bracelet colours match(and they are the only ones wearing bracelets). In a official trailer scene, their colour schemes match(no one else matches them). Hopefully we get to see more of their costumes, I love them 🥹💜💚

Thoughts and Speculations about the Agatha All Along Trailer

Wow, the new Trailer for Agatha All Along was amazing. I love how Marvel is leaning towards the horror and supernatural aspect for this show. I honestly can't wait to for the show to come out. I've rewatched the trailer way too many times, and I have quite a few thoughts about it that I thought I could share. Especially about Agatha and Rio (I'm so obsessed with them even though there isn't much content about them yet LOL)

Agatha's Prison

I think the opening scene with Agnes being a detective trying to investigate the Jane Doe is really interesting. Cause if you remember, Wanda removed the hex over Westview but trapped Agatha in Agnes, so presumably this is Agnes getting a detective job after the events of Wandavision. However, one thing that sorta bothered me was:

How have the people of West View not realised anything? They would have probably noticed that Agnes doesn't belong there. Did they just accept her with open arms?

In the trailer, it's implied that after Agatha breaks out of Wanda's spell, she awakens in her Westview house without any clothes on and without her powers. How did she get from that room with the dead body to the house?

Honestly, I'm not too sure. The only thing I can think of is that when Wanda trapped Agatha in Agnes, she puts her in a magical simulation of Agnes being in a detective show. Sounds like a stretch but remember that in Wandavision, Wanda was able to use her powers to project Agatha to an accurate recreation of the time she was almost executed and killed her coven. Perhaps she used similar magic here?

Who Saved Her?

Something that kinda bothered is me is the disconnect between the show's trailer and hypnosis. In the trailer, it clearly shows that Rio was the one who tried to make Agatha realise she was under Wanda's spell and convince her to break out of it. However, in the hypnosis, it states that (presumably) Billy was the one to break her out. So, what's happening here? Outdated sypnosis or something else? Well, I can think of 2 potential ways both could sorta work

Billy projects himself into Agatha/Agnes' mind in the form of Rio Vidal. Perhaps he knew that if he appeared to Agatha/Agnes as himself, she would probably not recognise him or trust him. But if he presented himself as someone who had a big part of Agatha's past, maybe he would have a better chance of getting through to her. It sounds kinda weird and quite unlikely but it could be a potential possibility

Billy asks Rio for help. I'm not sure how they would know each other but one thing that I noticed in the trailer is the 2 scenes of Rio waving and immediately after Billy looking back. It could be nothing, just shots of different scenes in different episodes, but it feels so oddly specific to put those scenes together like it's hinting towards a connection between them. Maybe Rio helps Billy out for an ulterior motive, she does seem to want to kill Agatha after all. (There are rumours that she hates Agatha because she sacrificed their son to Mephisto gain possession of the Darkhold but not sure if it is canon)

Why The Change Of Heart?

From what we can tell from the trailer, Rio Vidal is meant to be an antagonistic character (I don't think she is a villain, just someone who wants revenge on Agatha) However, in the trailer it also implies that Rio will also end up joining Agatha's coven. So why does Rio end up joining Agatha despite the fact she was dead set killing her?

Rio has an ulterior motive. Perhaps she goes with Agatha to monitor her and see what's she's planning to do, then kill her at the best time. Though honestly I don't know why she wouldn't just kill her when Agatha was completely powerless

Rio wants to protect Billy. Above I stated that it could be implied that Rio and Billy could have some connection and also that Agatha allegedly sacrificed her and Rio's son to Mephisto to get the Darkhold. Perhaps maybe Rio sees their son in Billy and wants to make sure that Agatha won't do the same thing to him

Rio still cares/has feelings for Agatha. Rio does call Agatha "Sweetheart" in the trailer despite them being ex wives/girlfriends/lovers, and she is still willing to help free Agatha from Wanda's spell despite hating Agatha's guts for killing their son. She also doesn't kill Agatha despite Agatha being powerless and her being one of the most powerful witches (Though maybe someone helped Agatha or she has good hand to hand combat skills LOL). Perhaps deep down her love for Agatha never went away?

Agatha managed to convince Rio to join her. In the trailer, there is a realm that is green in colour and Agatha seems to go there alone. A few people have speculated that this realm is Rio's realm judging by the fact that it's green and she's the green witch. Perhaps Agatha went there to find Rio? In the trailer, when Agatha is in this realm, she seems alone. Maybe she went here alone since it's a personal mission, I mean what could be more personal than trying to convince your dangerous ex wife to come join you? Perhaps with a combination of reasons above(or maybe since allegedly this show may also be a musical, maybe Agatha sings her way into Rio's heart LMAO), Agatha managed to get Rio on her side

These are all just my personal thoughts and speculation. Let me know your thoughts as well, maybe I missed out something or misunderstood something. Can't wait for this show to come out!!

A disturbing lack of Ayo and Aneka posts so I'll add more lmao. This post is not about new info I've found on them(sadly). This post is more on using the info I've learnt on them to form a bunch of speculations and headcanons. (Warning: Another essay incoming)

1. So I've mentioned before that Ayo has two 'confirmed' family members, Assata and Ala right? Not much is said about Ayo's grandmother, but we learn that Assata suffered a rare illness that leads to her having to use a wheelchair. Perhaps Aneka helps Ayo look after Assata and Ala? Would probably be pretty cute ngl. Assata teasing Ayo about Aneka when they are trying to take care of her, Ala giving Aneka the shovel talk, both leaving Ayo flustered lmao. Perhaps they also help Assata with her Dora Milaje training along with Okoye. That would be pretty cool to see. (If you want to know more on Assata, you should read the book Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: Courage to Dream. Here is a link to a read-aloud of it I found on YT:

2. (BP: WF Spoilers here) So in the movie, Ayo becomes the new General of the Dora Milaje while Aneka is part of the Midnight Angels(I'm not sure whether Aneka is still part of the Dora Milaje or whether she was kicked out of the Dora Milaje. That part I'm still not sure about, I'll assume that she isn't tho, as convenience for this headcanon) Since now the 2 girlfriends are now in 'separate teams', I wonder how their relationship would be affected. (If it's assumed that the Midnight Angels are like a separate entity from the Dora Milaje and not like a subgroup of it) Especially for Ayo. She probably would have a hard time choosing between staying loyal to the country and staying with Aneka. I believe Aneka would not have a hard time choosing, she's the rebellious one, so she would probably choose to remain with her girlfriend. But Ayo, who knows? I wonder how they will go about it. Might make some cool AyoxAneka angst(even if it hurts 😭)

3. So from Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we know that Ayo and Bucky have a close bond. I'm not entirely sure what kind of bond they have, I personally headcanon them as best friends lmao. Cause of this, I wonder how Bucky would react to Aneka. He would probably tease Ayo about it. Maybe Bucky thirdwheels the two of them, or maybe they go on a double date with Bucky and his partner(Could be Sarah Wilson, or maybe Sam?? 👀) Either way, honestly I think Bucky would be supportive of their relationship. Ayo supported him through one of his toughest times so I think he'd definitely return the favour.

4. (BP:WF Spoilers here) In the movie, I realise that Shuri and Aneka seem quite close. At least, close enough that Shuri gives Aneka the new technology she made for the Dora Milaje to test out. I wonder if Shuri knows of Ayo and Aneka's relationship? Honestly I can imagine Shuri teasing Aneka about Ayo lmao. Maybe whenever Shuri sees the two of them together, she waggles(is that a word?) her eyebrows at them until they both get flustered lmao. That would be so funny to see.

5. (Slight BP:WF spoilers here) When watching the movie, I realised that Ayo and Aneka's characters are kind of switched in a way. I'm not sure whether Ayo was the captain of the Dora Milaje, but in the MCU Ayo seems to have a higher role in the Dora Milaje than Aneka. In the MCU, Aneka seems to be the newbie in the Dora Milaje(Assumed since Aneka's character is only introduced in BP:WF) while Ayo was the newbie to the Dora Milaje in the World of Wakanda comic. Cause of this, I wonder how Ayo and Aneka met in the MCU. Maybe it's the same way in the comics but reversed? MCU Aneka seems to have gotten Comic Ayo's rebellious spirit. Or maybe it's a different way? Honestly can't wait to find out.

So that's all for now. Honestly wish I could write an AyoxAneka fanfiction with these headcanons but my writing is awful lmao. However if any fanfic writers want to use these ideas please do, Ayo and Aneka deserve more fanfiction on them. Hopefully more will come out soon(and apologies for the excess use of brackets btw) 🤩

Something I forgot to add in here. In the book Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: Courage to Dream, Assata(Ayo's cousin as stated in point 1) is actually part of the Mining Tribe in Wakanda. Since the 2 are cousins, it can be assumed that Ayo may also belong to the Mining Tribe.

It's funny how much we have started to learn about Ayo throughout the projects she has appeared in despite not having a major role. A little run-through on what we have learnt about this minor character (Be warned, it's an entire essay)

1. Out of all the Dora Milaje, Ayo's family actually gets explored(kind of - unsure if completely canon). In the children's book Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: Courage to Dream, the protagonist in the book, Assata is actually Ayo's cousin. In the book, Assata has a grandmother, Ala as well so since they are cousins, Ala is Ayo's grandmother as well. So Ayo has two 'confirmed' family members: Assata and Ala

2. In the Black Panther: World of Wakanda comic and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it's confirmed that Ayo has a gf, Aneka. I'm not sure if she is confirmed lesbian since I've never read the comics, but it can be assumed that she is at least sapphic.

3. Ayo is shown to have a bond with Bucky. In Fatws, it is revealed that Ayo is the one who helped Bucky test whether his Winter Soldier does not work on him anymore and she was there for one of his most emotional moments(him crying after realising the WS trigger words doesn't work on him anymore). Bucky also shows gratitude towards her.

4. Ayo is also shown to be guilty for T'Chaka death. A quote from Ayo's confrontation with Bucky "Zemo murdered our king T'Chaka, the man who chose us, who chose me to protect him." This shows that Ayo feels guilty for not being able to protect or save him.

Maybe there is more that I have not mentioned here, but so far this is what I have gathered

1. Ayo has a family (Cousin, Assata and Grandmother, Ala)

2. Ayo is sapphic and has a gf, Aneka

3. Ayo and Bucky have a good bond (Honestly I like to headcanon them as best friends lmao)

4. She feels guilty that she wasn't able to protect T'Chaka

For a seemingly minor character, we do learn more about her personal life than even Okoye(will probably make another post about her). Maybe if I find more info on Ayo, I'll update. Hopefully in the future, we'll be able to get more Ayo scenes and learn more about Ayo(cause like I'm lowkey simping for her). Though for now, we'll have to stick to the minor canon stuff and of course fanfiction 🤩
