Hi everyone,
Here I am once again with a fundraiser that is extremely low on funds.
This fundraiser for Najah and her family has been live since September. It was reblogged by @/90-ghost in November. It was also vetted by @/gazavetters and is #188 on their spreadsheet, which you can find linked in their pinned post.
And yet only €280 has been raised so far.
We can do better than that. Let's give this family some hope.
If you are able to donate, please do so. And please share this post, so it might reach people who are able to donate. Thank you!

🌸”Save Najah Hamad and Her Family from the Devastation of War”🌸
💔 My name is Najah Hamad, and I write these words with a heart that is shattered beyond repair. I live in Gaza, where my family and I once had a life filled with hopes and dreams. With my husband, Mohamed, and our beloved children: Ahmad, Muhammad, Samir, and Heba Allah, we built a home that held all our dreams. 🏠

But now, everything has vanished… 😔
In an instant, our home was destroyed by relentless bombardment. We were forced to flee, searching for safety, but there is no safety. We are living a daily nightmare, moving from one shattered place to another without hope. 😟💨
We face hunger and illness without clean water or medical care. My brother urgently needs surgery, and my mother suffers from chronic pain due to rheumatism. 🏥
🖤 The decision to leave Gaza has been the hardest of my life. I feel like I am abandoning everything I know, but staying means certain death. The cost of escaping is €5,000 per person. For my family, we need €30,000 just for travel, plus €10,000 for shelter and food. The total we are seeking is €40,000. 💶
Every day we remain here, our lives are at greater risk. When I look into my children’s eyes, I see fear, pain, and despair. 😢
🙏 Please, help us escape this torment. Even the smallest contribution could save us and give us a chance to live again.
Vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #188 )

HEAVENS Special Training Event Best Song Rankings
I know theres only a few days left of the event, but here's all of the songs ranked from best > worst for each difficulty based on how many notes they have in hopes it'll help you guys pick the ideal song for you to play for the last of it!
Higher note count = more keys will appear, score and combo don't matter. The lowest ranked of one difficulty is usually better than the highest of the difficulty before it, so choose the highest one you can manage to stumble through!

I was looking at the Wikipedia list of the best selling manga of all time, out of curiosity as to where Spy x Family ranks. It was easier for me to examine the data in spreadsheet form, so I pasted it into Excel. When I played around with it a bit, I found some interesting results.
The list is sorted by the approximate sales of manga volumes (all series in the list have sold at least 20 million copies). With that criteria, SxF ranks at 105 out of 188.
Now 105 might not seem very impressive, but when you consider other factors, it's actually quite remarkable.
For example, when you sort the list like the above image by fewest number of volumes in circulation, SxF shoots up to rank 5! And even then, pretty much every other series on the list with such a small number of volumes has been around way longer than SxF...in just 4 years, SxF has managed to bring in numbers that have taken other series many more years or even decades to achieve!
And as I suspected, when I sorted the list by newest series, SxF ranked at number 1!
It's literally the newest series on the list - at only 4 years old and a relatively small 11 volumes, it's already bringing in big numbers! (with fellow newcomer Chainsaw Man close behind).
And even among the series that have sold around 30 million copies, SxF has the highest average sales per volume!
In fact, when we sort by average sales per volume for all series on the list, SxF comes in at number 15! Again, most of the other series that outrank it have been around for much longer. Even other relative newcomers that outrank it, like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, still have more than double the number of volumes to work with.
Taking all these factors into consideration, I'm excited to see what the future holds for SxF! If its popularity continues, especially with consistent anime adaptations, I can definitely see its rank continue to skyrocket. I look forward to checking this list again several years from now!

🇵🇸 Low on Funds! 🇵🇸
I'd like to shine a spotlight on some fundraisers that are very low on funds and/or have been struggling to gain traction. All of these are verified campaigns, and I will link to verification for all of them.
Mahmoud Helles: €1k/€50k
@mahmoud92hells, number 198 on this spreadsheet compiled by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi
Ramez Hilles: €658/€37k
@ramezderar, shared by 90-ghost
Mahasen Al Khatib: $505/$50k USD
@mahasenelkhatib, number 508 on Operation Olive Branch's master list
Reham Al Jarrah: £188/£30k
@rehamjarrah, number 20 on the Strawberry Seed Collective master list
Dina, Noor, Omar, & Farah: $587/$20k CAD
@dina179, verified by ibtisams
Please consider donating to these fundraisers, sharing them, and following the accounts of the people organizing these fundraisers. Internet connection in Gaza is extremely difficult to maintain at best and actively dangerous to seek out at worst, so sharing these good people's posts while they are offline is one of the simplest ways to help.

my spreadsheet (public version)
so i have this spreadsheet that i use for prompts for this fandom, comprised of several prompt lists and the exact order of which is not easily publicly available. if you want to send me a prompt, send me a ship and a number between 1-725 (subject to change) and receive a sort of mystery box surprise of a fic. through the use of this list, you can see what prompts have already been done. if it’s for another ship, you can certainly send me the same prompt that was already used in another fic. if a prompt has been used three times, that prompt will be closed. thank you for your cooperation <3 listing under the cut!
possible progress statuses: prompted, in progress, editing, posted. if a prompt does not have one of these statuses, it has not been sent in thus far.

Quick update:
I just updated my Nominations spreadsheet and there are currently 549 Pokemon that have been nominated and qualify out of 1508 total nominations. If you would like to make this number bigger, the nominations form is linked in the pinned post. If you would like to help with seeding, the process is exactly the same.
Number of Pokemon with 1 nomination: 183
Number of Pokemon with 2 nominations: 171
Number of Pokemon with 3 nominations: 102
Number of Pokemon with 4 nominations: 45
Number of Pokemon with 5 nominations: 22
Number of Pokemon with 6 nominations: 10
Number of Pokemon with 7 nominations: 8
Number of Pokemon with 8 nominations: 2
Number of Pokemon with 9 nominations: 1
Number of Pokemon with 10 nominations: 0
Number of Pokemon with 11 nominations: 3
Number of Pokemon with 12 nominations: 1
Number of Pokemon with 13 nominations: 1
(Btw! That only adds up to 188 nominations of Pokemon that don't qualify! Just 12.5%, which is incredibly low, all things considered. This may imply some of you are spending too much time checking to see if a Pokemon qualifies. You don't have to bother. My conditional formatting checks for me.)
Technically, the more nomination count categories we can get and the more even the distribution, the better, so if you've been thinking about nominating any Pokemon, you can just do it. The more data, the better the seeding.
This does think that maybe there are some viable tournaments based solely on nomination count, but any tournament with nearly 200 Pokemon is going to be unavoidably unwieldy. (Though of course it's always possible to break them up by our arbitrary categories--Generation, type, etc.)

Ep 4 Wrap Up
Hello, lovies! Welcome back to the Great Produce48 Recap Rewatch-a-ma-whoozit! In the previous post, we covered the Very Very teams. In this post, I’ll be wrapping up episode 4 and giving you some general thoughts about the challenge mission in the form of my first annual BRAPPY Awards! Let’s do it!
Seungki gathers the girls together now that the audience has left, in order to give them the results of the on-site vote. Seungki quizzes a few girls is the audience at quasi-random to re-establish the rules -- that 58th is the cut off point, and that if you don’t make it within that range, “you can’t practice here anymore.” I think that’s a comparatively kind way to put it.
This is basically a pointless exercise that they’re going through right now, though. They rank the girls solely by their voting for tonight, including the 1000 point benefit. There is literally no point to it, since this ranking has no impact on the rest of their life, except their pride. We find out that poor AleXa came in dead last, with flat-tummied Hwang Soyeon just above her.
AleXa takes it pretty well -- she knew how low she scored, so she was ready for this.
Poor Soyeon. She’s so good, and I think she’s pretty. I don’t get it.
Lee Chaeyeon voice overs, “The Japanese members are celebrities, and Koreans are trainees. So there was a gap.”
Was there? Let me get out my spreadsheet. *cracks knuckles*
Hmm. The Japanese members had an average of 85.3 votes per trainee. The members signed to Korean agencies had an average of 59.0 votes per trainee. The overall average was 69, because there are more Korean members. So yes, there was a huge gap.
The show goes on revealing the "final ranking" from the night, but it's so annoying, since all the votes were based on their immediate competition among those 10-12 girls, so it’s especially meaningless.
Anyway, here’s the top 12 -- just looking at it reminds you that this is dumb, since we know these aren’t the 12 most popular girls on the show.
Trainee /// Song she did /// votes she got
12. Kojima Mako /// Short Hair 1 /// 120 11. Murase Sae /// Mamma Mia 1 /// 138 11. Kim Hyunah /// Mamma Mia 1 /// 138 9. Asai Nanami /// Boombayah 2 /// 144 8. Lee Sian /// Short Hair 2 /// 148 7. Jo Yuri /// Short Hair 1 /// 152 6. Cho Ahyeong /// High Tension 2 /// 160 5. Miyawaki Sakura /// Very Very 2 /// 164 4. Goto Moe /// Like Ooh Ahh 1 /// 172 3. Huh Yunjin /// High Tension 2 /// 188 2. Ko Yujin /// Boombayah 1 /// 198 1. Yabuki Nako /// Love Whisper 2 /// 330
Fun fact: Only three of these girls make it into IZ*one, and, extra fun (or not fun at all?), one of these 12 girls gets eliminated in the very next episode!
This is so dumb.
Seungki interviews Nako about her overwhelming victory, and she says she still can’t believe it. (You can see that she has a small earpiece in her ear for translation purposes.)
It’s almost as if she was really good and also was in a matchup with mostly weaker members….? Hilariously, she says “I’ll try my best to be in a higher rank next time.” Nako? Sweetie? You were in first place. I think it’s ok to not strive to do even better than that. Cutely, she adds a Korean “thank you!” at the end.
Then the show does a dumb thing where it adds the 1000 vote benefit into the votes to see how things change in the ranking, and it’s pointless AF. Seungki reminds them that the first ranking announcement will be next week, and that's when they'll "release" about a third of the girls.
Ok, so that’s the end of episode 4.
Time for my general thoughts on the challenge mission!
My main thought is: None of the performances were actually horrifically bad. Even Hellbayah was watchable in its own way. Vocally, nearly everyone sounded notably better than they even had before, making me wonder if there was some processing being done to the vocals for everyone. Dance-wise, the camera hid a lot of the choreo, so it's impossible to know. In the end, I had to base a lot of my differential off of stage presence, which is tough since it's so subjective.
I think that so much of it was decided the moment that certain teams were formed and certain teams got certain songs. Having Nako sing Love Whisper? Match made in heaven. Putting Chiba Erii in Boombayah? Match made in hell.
I wish I had the energy to go through and look at each group and think, which song should this group of 5-6 girls have done? But alas, I do not. I welcome your thoughts, if you have them!
The First Annual BRAPPIES
And now, for the first Brappies, the award that BPR-Unnie gives out starting now, after each challenge mission. Be aware that as I type this, I’ve had a headache for about two weeks and it’s making me just a tiny bit cranky. Ok, here goes!
Group who the stylist unnies hated the most:
I give this to Peekaboo 2.
Ugh, those translucent control top thigh highs!
Group who it just looks like they forgot to put on pants:
Obviously, Short Hair (both teams)
I'm unlikely to use this category again, but it had to be said.
Group that cried the most:
I’m tempted to say it’s a 15-way tie between most of them, but I have to give it to Love Whisper 1, whose leader, Eunchae, actually cried during the ending fairy.
Group that seemed to have the most fun:
Very Very, Red team.
Most deserved win:
Love Whisper 2.
I’m giving it to them since, other than the Boombayah teams, there was no other match up where the winner felt quite so obvious to me.
Least deserved win:
Hellbayah. Obviously.
It’s infuriating that this performance won.
Best leader:
From what we could see, that goes to Haeyoon (Cherry Bullet) from Like Ooh Ah, who not only mothered her own team, but also had time to mother the other team, who had the worst leader (Park Seoyoung). She also is apparently fluent in Japanese.
Honorable mention: Miyu from High Tension, who was smart enough to know that they should have Huh Yunjin as their center, and did a great job as main vocal, to boot.
Worst leader:
I have to give this to Park Seoyoung. She didn't seem to take the time constraints seriously enough, so didn't push her team appropriately. She also didn't seem that great at teaching the dancing, which is one of the things a leader should either be able to do, or be able to delegate well. She should have made little Haeun the dance captain and gone from there, to avoid a feeling of a power struggle. She seems like a really sweet girl, actually, and as I've said before, AleXa is friends with her to this day and that says a lot. But she just isn't really cut out to be leader.
Most put-upon leader:
Han Chowon from Hellbayah. She obviously did an extraordinary job considering her situation.
Biggest discovery:
Yoon Haesol, main vocal of High Tension 1. I’d been completely unaware of her up until this point. Her audition, Question Mark, wasn’t aired -- all we saw of her was starting her audition in the wrong key and needing to start over. All I had said about her audition was that she did pretty well, but this performance really impressed me. So, good for you, Haesol.
Trainee who “won” the night
Huh Yunjin.
I say she won the night because before this episode, she wasn’t really seen as a front runner, and afterward, she really was. There are events to come that will drag her down a bit, but I think she earned her spot on Le Sserafim with this performance. She definitely won my heart the first time I was watching. So, congrats, Jennifer! You killed it. But you know that, right?
Trainee who “lost” the night:
In some ways, this award should go to just about anyone who the edit ignored completely despite them doing good stuff, like fantastic singer and leader Miyu from the winning High Tension group, or any of the innumerable other trainees with no stage time. But I have to give this award to Jang Gyuri.
She had her tiny tiny vocal mistake built up to over the course of two episodes and then replayed thirteen fucking times. Meanwhile if you watch her fancam, you might actually gain some respect for her lovely vocal color.
So, that’s a wrap for right now. I’m going to check out Build Up for a bit and we’ll see how that goes, and I’ll finish these recaps when the time is right. See you soon!

Playing around with IQ math
IQ is a funny metric because it's quite vague. It basically tells you how many people score higher & lower than you on IQ tests, & that's all. It doesn't tell you how much smarter you are than the next-best scorer, because we don't understand the brain well enough to measure that. It's just another way of writing percentile, & you can map percentile to fun metrics like 'best in group of size X' & 'top Y of the world'.
(However, fictional universes that have superpowers/firebending/etc could have very fun numerical mappings between the size of a city & the power level of its most formidable hero.)
Here are some fun little translations of specific IQs into English, from my spreadsheet:
200 IQ = Best in 9.4 Earths (200 IQ cannot* exist in the present, because a person simply cannot score higher than 76 billion people) 199 IQ = Best in 6.0 Earths 198 IQ = Best in 3.8 Earths 197 IQ = Best in 2.5 Earths 196 IQ = Best in 1.6 Earths 195 IQ = Best in Earth (Highest possible IQ today) 194 IQ = Best in Eurasia 193 IQ = Best in Asia 192 IQ = Best in Christianity 191 IQ = Best in all English speakers 190 IQ = Best in Africa 189 IQ = Best in Europe 188 IQ = Best in South America 187 IQ = Best in USA 186 IQ = Best in Brazil 184 IQ = Best in Vietnam 182 IQ = Best in California 181 IQ = Best in Jakarta 180 IQ = Best in New York State 179 IQ = Best in Ontario 178 IQ = Best in Seoul 177 IQ = Best in Massachusetts 176 IQ = Best in Ireland (country) 175 IQ = Best in Baja California 174 IQ = Best in Queens 173 IQ = Best in Manhattan 172 IQ = Best in Dublin 171 IQ = Best in San Francisco proper 170 IQ = Best in Oklahoma City 168 IQ = Best in Harlem 164 IQ = Best in a large stadium 161 IQ = Best in a stadium 159 IQ = Best in a university 157 IQ = Best in Fairfax, LA 149 IQ = Best in a large high school 143 IQ = Best in a high school year 141 IQ = Best in a large lecture hall 139 IQ = Best in a church 131 IQ = Best in a bus 127 IQ = Best in a classroom 120 IQ = Best in a soccer team 116 IQ = Best in a minivan 113 IQ = Best in a family of 5 110 IQ = Best in a family of 4 107 IQ = Best in an Apex team 101 IQ = Best in a couple 100 IQ = Normal test result
*There are multiple scoring techniques for IQ; what i'm saying is true for the technique i'm familiar with.

@zuko-is-crazy created a spreadsheet speculating about the results of the 2022 House of Representative elections. They figured that there are 193 safe Democratic seats, and going through my own notes I figured 188, so I think we're both in the right ballpark.
Absolute worst case scenario, I see the Republicans winning the House 247-188. This assumes that every state the COULD lose Democratic districts WILL lose Democratic districts (at least one, as many as five for a state like Texas); it also assumes that turnout is super low and that Republicans get a higher than average midterm bump. This is the floor; I don't think it's possible for Democrats to end up any lower, but let's round down to 255-180 just because I'm a nihilist.
This would require Republicans to gain 40+ seats, but given previous census changes and midterm bumps, I seem them realistically gaining 30 because they're not doing too hot on the national stage right now. The cracks in the system are more visible to the public than ever and election reform is popular; being anti-reform might help them in the short run, but hurt them in the long run. This still puts them in the 240s to the Democrats' 190s. It's not great, but not as bad as it could be; it's been worse. And remember, not every single district will be safe Republican or safe Democrat; a considerable number of them will be swing districts that could go for either party, so there's some wiggle room over the next 10 years for Democrats to expand and take back a slim majority as partisan strength ebbs and flows. 180 is the floor, so Democrats will hover around 200 - 220, inching back into the majority every now and then.
The House is pretty much useless anyway; every time I hear news about the House passing some major legislation, I remember that the House can pass ANYTHING because they don't have a filibuster. Major legislation in the House means nothing when it hits the brick wall of the Senate, so losing the House won't hurt Democrats too much because nothing is getting done right now anyway. Losing the House will make things harder, but not devastatingly so. The only real power the House has is issuing subpoenas, but Trump just proved that the president can legally ignore them and prevent any of his underlings from complying either, so Biden is in the clear there so long as he doesn't do something stupid like PLAY ALONG WITH REPUBLICANS, which is totally not something he is prone to do. "I have nothing to hide, so I'll let them subpoena me, sure! Oh, they impeached me because I rode a bicycle once and made a turn without signalling."
