i an poking you in the arm give me some adult king headcanons cause i swear NONE EXIST ON THIS WEBSITE IVE LOOKED
My time has come.
This is the part where I channel my roleplay muse for this man hold on-
King's awakened personality is half-genuine and halfway an act. His maturity has improved significantly, but he still worries too much over his past mistakes. He now tries to make up for them by trying too hard to be "the best king". Thankfully, his friends and family never let him hide himself under formality around them, and Diane argued with him once to make him tone it down overall.
He still has his signature hoodie and pajamas. He misses when they suited him, but he won't admit it.
King still sleeps with Chastiefol's pillow form. In its awakened state, it can expand into a pillow for the whole family.
He will outlive nearly everyone he knows. King knows he will, but he avoids giving anyone any clues about it...but we all know how well that goes for him. The Sins all have an inkling.
Ban knows. He asked Elaine about why King wanted them to visit so often in recent years and confronted King based on what Elaine told him. It escalated in a typical fashion between them.
He has the longest list of potential baby names out of everyone--even more than Diane's list. He's a walking Fairy Baby Names Dictionary.
After meeting Dahlia in Cursed by Light, he's very disappointed in the 2nd Fairy King's attitude toward his past duties. Gloxinia became the person King respects the most since then.
He's wondered what the Sacred Tree would be like if it had an active will like the other deities did. If it would be as cruel or insistent about enforcing its definition of balance in the world as they were. If it would curse others for opposing it. He doesn't think that to doubt it. He never would. He simply wonders from time to time.
He still has issues controlling his heart reading sometimes. It's a result of his power being so filled to the brim. Sometimes it just spills a little, so sometimes he can't help reading every thought or feeling for moments at a time. It gets even worse when he drinks.
King rarely nosebleeds now that he's a married man. Nosebleeds happen when the thoughts™ are resisted. And yes, Diane asked about it. After an awkward conversation with a good resolution, King's nosebleeds ended up becoming even rarer.
He sings. King has a perfect singing voice for lullabies. Every one of his kids fondly remember him singing them to sleep after they had a nightmare.

Hello, I love your nnt rewrite and the redesigns of the characters, but I gotta ask: are you gonna rewrite the abilities of the main characters or are you gonna keep them as they are.
Hi, thanks so much!
For the most part, the main characters' abilities stay the same, but I am changing a few. Ban still has Snatch and Gowther keeps Invasion. Escanor still has Sunshine, though I explore it a bit more and what it could be capable of. Merlin still has Infinity, of course, since it ties in so much with her backstory and why everyone wanted her in the first place, thus leading to how she got cursed; though, I might tweak it a bit since it's so overpowered in general.
I thought about changing Diane's to something that ties in with her Sin of Envy (a kind of mimicry ability), but the Giants tend to all have the same abilities, so I scraped that idea and decided to make her envy more as a sense of inferiority. In the rewrite, Diane is a lot less talented with her powers unlike other Giants (whereas in canon, she was noted to almost be a prodigy) and so was envious of others for being just naturally better than she was. This ties into the whole arc I made for her (both before and during the main story) of fighting tooth and nail to become stronger and more skilled rather than just being a natural. But I digress.
The only mains whose abilities are chanegd the most are King and Meliodas. Since King wasn't originally born to the Fairy King in the rewrite, I decided to give him Elaine's ability, Miracle Wind, from canon, while Elaine had Disaster. Elaine is tied to the earth, whereas King is more tied to the weather (which is a big part of nature) and can greatly affect it with his winds.
Meliodas, on the other hand, now essentially has Sound Manipulation (like Vanya/Viktor from the Umbrella Academy, but a little bit different). It doesn't quite have the same effect as Full Counter, but it more or less does the same thing with him using the sound of a person's attacks to reflect it back at them (which, of course, works even better if the person uses a weapon). To me, Full Counter always felt a little bit silly and the most video game-esque of the main powers (even before the power level element got brought in). Still, I DID like the aspect of being able to throw an attack back at an enemy when they attack you. Meliodas' power in the rewrite now ties in directly with his backstory and his role among the Goddesses before the Fall. It's also why he's teaching Gowther the Circle of Fifths from Music Theory in one of my previous drawings and why he has so many instruments in Elizabeth's room in the rewrite.
Thanks for asking! Let me know if you have any questions.

I am suffering a lot for the huge hate King is receiving everywhere for the last chapter. I really didn't wait years for this arc just so the author just comes and decides to screw up the character in such an awful way. I expected some drama, but I think an author can do that without destroying the characters' development built during an entire prequel. I just pray Nakaba don't last to make King explain everything, because now for each chapter delaying the explanation, it means another week of hate towards King just because everyone mistunderstood the whole situation
Listen...I'm on the King defense squad here and here's the deal, I don't think Nakaba screwed up his character in an awful way, if anything Nakaba screwed King over (that's probably an overexaggeration). The whole point of what happened in the chapter is stitching up conflict. Emotions are high and everyone ran with their assumptions.
Tioreh flew away thinking Mertyl will be thrown away because the last time she saw a changeling prank, the human baby was put back to the humans and the fairy baby was brought back to the fairies. She's a child, and that's how she associated the situation and Diane didn't even get a chance to say anything cause she flew away.
Phao overheard everything and is most likely gonna snitch to the others.
Mertyl was insecure about his situation but Kiane ensured him his entire life, sure they didn't tell him that he's adopted and him realizing that he can cause major stress but he must know that they love him a lot, they literally took care of him for 18 years, he's most likely still coping that the drug can fix him. But it most likely won't cause he's human in the fairy realm. Him taking that drug is like drinking the antidote and drinking the poison again. He felt betrayed at the moment which is valid for him but he didn't know that the drug wasn't even for Nasiens.
Nasiens also jumped to his assumption here. Sure, on the surface he made valid points but hey King didn't get a chance to explain himself. He also doesn't know that Mertyl is human so there's that.
King did the best he thought he could do, yes I admit he made mistakes that resulted in this entire conflict to explode the way it did but he has his reasons. Besides, he didn't know that Mertyl and Sixtus are there.
Speaking of Sixtus, he's my shining light in this situation. He can fix this (I hope)
With these types of dramas it's easy to blame the parents because they're the parents and most of the time their side of the story are the last ones shown and people cry after.

making an nnt "god" a concrete thing with lore / biology. substance if you will. because committing to the bit is fun and nakaba missed out
inspired that the idea that not only should Meliodas and Elizabeth have a less human form but Tristan too! I love the different takes on their designs.
chapters cause this is long! and control f is our friend
canon adjacent lore
children of the gods
awakened god designs
the gods' chosen helpers
extra pet theory because I love y'all and I love elizabeth angst
@kalopsiakey @7-ratsinatrenchcoat thank you for helping out with the brainstorming for the tristan and melizabeth 'eldritch forms'! Hope you like the finished product!!
- - - - canon adjacent lore anyone ? - - - - -
In my aus, I usually go with the interpretation that the SD and DK are the latest two in a line of governing deities, with the others dying to various means. And the SD and DK blotted them out from public memory to establish the maximum amount of control for themselves.
In order to govern their realms, I propose it was a long-standing practice that gods would retain only a percentage of their power, and lend out the rest to trusted ones who help them ensure the safety and health of their realm. There might be other groups that the Archangels and Ten Commandments are in charge of!
Theoretically, this would also allow them to retain a form suitable to walk among their people. None of this taller than a castle shtick. Perhaps the DK and SD are physically magnified with their power. Part of their appearance is morphed by their will - the DK's armor, and the veil across the Supreme Diety's face seem to be symbols of their power. They can also be representative of how the DK was seen as an invincible opponent, and how now one knew the SD's true intentions but thought she's "too holy to look upon and find fault in."
To a god, sacrificing and dividing up your power (especially) in a time of peace is symbolic of trust and humility. In war, it could be neccessary to maintain one's prestige and honor as a monarch., Could mean that you value the ability to live as one of your people as one of them rather than as someone they worship.
- - - - children of the gods - - - -
What's the difference between something like the Supreme Diety and her daughter? Biologically, nothing, I'd assume. In nnt, "god" seems to be a state of being, asserted not simply by having power but by coming into your own and claiming it as you.
I propose that the gods are a conduit for that portion of their realm's magic that would otherwise roam freely, and that the other life in that realm has already absorbed, at birth, the limit each individual can handle. Biologically, that is.
For a goddess or demon to maintain that state in Britannia without cracking holes in the fabric of reality, there'd need to be some way to both reign in that power and dilute it down to a level that's manageable for that individual. And there probably are ways. Let's see what happened to Mel. His 'original powers,' when he accepted them, were raw and undivided; additionally, he had no clue how to manage a power influx of that extent and his mind was NOT in a good place to try and manage an extra extreme stressor. And uh. He has priors with letting his demon powers run amock in a destructive manner. If there's also a psychological component to how your godly powers act, that's the first uh-oh. Second uh - oh: he'd maintained complete certainty that unlocking them would have that kind of disastrous consequences for 3,000 years. self-fulfilling prophecies are a thing. especially if you believe that a demon's powers, specifically, their darkness, is deeply involved with their subconscious. Being 'a god' doesn't seem to logically coincide with being helpless. I think the real reason the DK and SD were trapped in their "bubbles" in their respective realms is their refusal to set aside that power, and walk as a simple demon or goddess even temporarily. A lack of will (in the gods' place) or a lack of control (Mel), rather than a lack of possibility. It makes it more interesting, I think!
In that case, the natural disasters we saw after Mel stepped into that power would be a result of the vast amount of demon realm magic accompanying him running completely amock in the wrong realm, interfering with the other magics present and the balance.
- - - - For "awakened god" designs! - - - -
I think Meliodas would want to keep his appearance mostly the same . . . just with more pizazz. Same with Zeldris, he seems to have it down pretty well already judging by his dramatic entrance in 4kota. If they're able to channel their powers well enough for this, I think they'd leave most 'monstrous' features toggled off while using this form except for their aura, and other associated demonic features such as wings, horns, and claws. They'd use the extra power boost to help their darkness roam with more versatility. Perhaps it'd form a tail behind them and coil about their horns and nearby loved ones like decorative, protective wreaths. It might lend a dragonlike flair to Meliodas, with several sets of horns about his face and dragonlike spines; and likewise, for Zeldris, some regal feathers and a simple, elegant floating crown - irremovable but loved - floating like a halo above his head.
I think Elizabeth would gain another pair of wings (if not more), and a dress of light in the same theme as Meliodas's assault mode outfit. She would have a magnificent crown of light, and she would hate it, she would complain that she didn't even wear a crown at her wedding, why does her magic think she'd want one? and she'd tear it off. every time. Maybe one day she'll accept it. Her brother-in-law tells her it's a symbol of how she'd given her heart, blood and breath to her realm, and to protecting the peace in Britannia, and that it's something she earned. But all she can see is this form is more grandiose than her mother's ever was, regardless of how much more like herself it looks than like some plain, no-faced worship-demanding statue. (That's how Meli describes her mother). Maybe one day! In the meantime, she released most of her original magic back to the Celestial Realm to assist in its revival. And covers up the crown with ribbons her husband sewed for her whenever she's prepping for a serious battle.
The special feature I came up with for what I'm calling Tristan's "awakened god form" is based on a biblical angel's wheels of eyes. That, except Twinkle stars, bright as a goddess's magic but as maneuverable as darkness, and they point in whichever direction he's focused on.
Wings would be feather-based, with darkness that weaves around them like the tounges of flames.
I think even the most high-level demons and goddesses would have less humanlike teeth in the back of their mouths accompanying their molars. Maybe just a little sharper, and much more durable. Maybe a second or third row of teeth that gets less prominent or even more retractable as it nears the lips. sharks come to mind. I'm jealous of their teeth. Why are ours so flimsy. Anyway. 7 rats proposed a demon / goddess child's noticably inhuman teeth might be like that of an anglerfish. Interesting idea.
Like. Uh- puts on a poetic narrator voice Like a wide smile, almost uncannily wide but almost like the way you walk with your feet pointed outward and not an emotion. And when he moves his mouth to speak or frown you can see little gleaming edges along his jaw like a set of jewels in a necklace. You're not sure what they are. Like spikes or horns but… from within. That ought to be decorative, you think, but you've thought the same about the demons’ sets of horns and their fangs and now that you think about it, the shapes surrounding the powered-up goddesses'… is they really magic or something supernatural beyond your mind’s comprehension. . . ?
As for the eyes - dark, demon-colored with swirling golden triskeles in the center. Since in normal form he already has the duality - and it makes sense considering how goddess and demon powers present themselves in their eyes - I think hiding the heterochromia in his eldritch form would make it more horrifying. Like, now we are stepping away from physics into what a “god” is in this universe. The darkness spills out of his eyes like the whisps of dry ice ofc!
- - - the gods' chosen helpers: examinating the the SD's blessings and the DK's curses - - - -
3/4 Archangels' Graces channel a certain element of nature: wind (Tornado), water (Ocean), light (Sunshine), with Ludociel's Flash being the odd one out. I propose this is because Ludociel has such a tainted mindset the only Grace that would take him is the one representing swift, determined action (because hehe). The Ten Commandments, unlike the Graces, have a further element of control - their double-edged nature - suggesting the DK isn't as thorough of a manipulatior (deadbeat hehe) as the SD and cannot rely on his command alone to gain 100% of the TC's focus. There's been clear tampering with the power it gives them, and less trust; they're artificial compared to the Graces, one of which was said to have chosen Escanor of its own free will. As for what they can do - they represent values that are considered virtues. Except for purity. what the hell does Derieri's purity do again? Not that she NEEDS that extra power, for the love of god the brute force trauma of this woman's second blow would probably cause permanent damage. Anyway, love forces those with hatred in their hearts to stand down from a fight (objectively not a bad thing), truth does the truth thing, etc.
These are not neccessarily combat-focused powers, though they are used and intended as such. It's not a stretch to say they could be utlized in a different manner in times of peace. The Demon Realm has probably countless small villages and intellegent species for the King to oversee and keep the peace between. It makes sense for him to have more vassals from that standpoint. Meanwile, the Celestial Realm from what we can tell has fallen into disrepair without the routine care of its people. I'm gonna go ahead and headcanon that the natural phenomenon here is at least as 'extreme' in human terms as the demon realm's, and that effectively managing a system of islands in the sky with probably dozens of intellegent migratory creatures like sky fish, etc. does take some supernatural effort. And that most of the goddess population here is centralized in one main area. Pretty much all nakaba has given us is an implied lack of diversity in the celestial realm (why everyone look like that except for Tarmiel) (it's fine we can make the creatures ourselves). Anyway. A not-double-edged-sword version of the Commandments and the current Graces could be repurposed to aid in civil relations (people), and enviornmental mangement (nature) respectively.
-- - - - - extra! pet theory as to why Elizabeth is an only child - - - -
I have a pet theory for my holy war au that Elizabeth wasn't made like a human child and is, rather, a genetic clone the SD shaped of herself (think shaping a living being out of clay) as well as just one in a succession of rebellious (and very dead) attempts at the perfect daughter. This is why there's only one of her, while Meliodas has a sibling, and why she's older than Meliodas. Until Elizabeth, there was no proof that what the SD and DK wanted could be managed without serious consequences. The SD learned that just having the one is important for the amount of control she wants over her daughter. She only has so much patience, and the sisters tended to back each other over her. Thank - well, herself - that they were so young. . . all those times. This is why the DK insisted on totally eliminating his children's emotions; he thinks so long as they don't care for one another, and don't even think to, he can manage as many as he wishes. Otherwise, he thinks the SD is a loon who failed like four times in succession, and refuses to acknowledge that he specifically waited for her to succeed, "learning" from her mistakes, before having his own children.

So i’m writing an Odyssey nanatsu no taizai au (but more inspired from epic than the original books cause I write while listening to it) and sometimes I comment ideas or scenes with my sister (who’s obsession with either greek mythology or nanatsu is even bigger than mine), so she’s basically my beta reader.
To put you in context, my plan is not to just grab epic the musical and change the names, I’m making things up (deities, backstories, characters… so nnt fits properly in an ancient greek setting but still following the musical)
Well, when I told her I was planning to give Ludociel a similar role that Zeus has she threw me a pillow to the head.
I’m still doing it anyways :)

Have you ever heard of Elizabeth x Mael?👀
Honest thoughts on this ship?
It's a cute ship(人´▽`*)♪
tho if it was Canon then none of the things in 7ds would have happened (lol).
But as much as I like it, I hate to say (cause I hate Merlin) that it's almost the same as Merlin x Meliodas— literally two sides of the same coin. Having a childhood crush of someone who showed them the tiniest bit of kindness, then growing up and changing in hopes to impress them, even tho they wouldn't be happy together since Elizabeth and Meliodas were NOT breaking up. (But I have to say, Merlin's way of doing allat is.... definitely weirder.. considering shes still a child technically.)
But honestly, Mael deserves better, for example my beautiful original ch— *gunshot*

Do you have any headcanons for Lancelot and Sixtus? I have a feeling that they get along really well.
Not many headcanons for them actually. I doubt King & Diane visit Ban with their kids that often, considering they had 7 of them and an 8th growing up in Echo Gorge, so here's a linear list following that path:
Before Lancelot and Jericho disappeared, Ban visited the Fairy Realm with Lancelot and Elaine every one to few years. He always found some new way to tease a complaint about the realm's sickly sweet air to Harlequin. The Fairy King is always offended. Even as kings, these two bicker like cats and dogs.
When it was just Myrtel and Sixtus, Lancelot liked Myrtel more. Sixtus was so quiet all the time, and Lancelot liked playfighting more bc of his human half.
Since there was a new Kiane kid or few every visit the first few times, Lancelot thought fairy kids multiply asexually over time and called them "Myrtle 2", "Myrtel 5", etc.
During Lancelot's last visit before disappearing, Sixtus got pissed over those names. Lancelot had to learn where fairy/giant babies come from that day.
He was told he needed to have a heart-to-heart talk with Sixtus to fix things...and Lance took that literally.
They had their talk entirely through heart reading and Lancelot gets Sixtus after it.
If you ask why they're "making faces at each other", they'll both say they're "having a heart-to-heart". Yes they keep talking to each other like that ever since.
One day King tried joining in for the fun and the looks they gave him made him never want to try again. He doesn't even listen when they do that anymore, not even in the story's present day.

I cannot express how LOUD I squealed the moment I scrolled down and saw Zeldris' rewrite after months of being away from Tumblr and I legit cannot praise you enough for the absolutely delicious serving. You did that man justice in the best ways possible!
And of course, I LOVED what you did with Margaret and Veronica along with Gilthunder, Guila, and Jericho! They're absolutely stunning and love the more roles they play in here.
And Helbrim- (I cannot for the life of me remember how the hell to spell this guy's name, he always eludes me. So I just spell it however it sounds like to me) -and his added lore actually brings home the angst! And adds more world building. I love it!
Zedris and Guila have to be my favorite rewrites, I love their designs that I just stared at them for a good solid 30 minutes just taking it all in!
Now then, for me questions in this rather jumbled up and messy ask; Is the Boar Hat changed at all? What kind of role does Hawk and his mom have in this rewrite, is it roughly the same? Or are they taken out completely?
Apologies for the rather jumbled writing, I don't have time to edit it all neatly so sorry if something doesn't quite make sense.
OMG, it's so good to hear from you again! :DDDDD I'm so glad you like the redesigns I've done since you've last been on here. I do pride myself on Zeldris' and Guila's redesigns if I do say so myself... I have a knack for creating people, what can I say? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As for your questions: yes! Hawk and his mama will still be in the rewrite, because they are simply perfect. I love them with everything I have. Although, Hawk might be a girl this time just because it feels right for some reason. Either way, we all know Hawk transcends gender.
I think they'll roughly have the same rolls as they do in canon, with slightly adjusted designs just to account for art style. Hawk's abilities may be changed a bit as well because they always just seemed kind of random and out-of-nowhere when they showed up in season 2. I also think that Mama, this giant pig that just wanders and chills, being the original prison of Chaos and essentially one of the most powerful beings in all of Britannia, is absolutely hilarious, so of course I'm keeping that. And, because I loved seeing the little bits of her own personality in canon, I hope to convey her as more of a character rather than just the vehicle that takes us from place to place. (Love you, Hawk Mama, they could never make me hate you)
And the Boar Hat will have minimal changes; the layout was always a little bit unclear to me so I'll be adjusting it a bit. Since Mama Hawk is technically "hollow," since she's basically a moss shell, there may be a basement for cold storage, and more rooms for the Sins to stay in since it's never fully established what upstairs looks like outside of a few scenes - Meliodas made the Boar Hat to stealthily look for the Sins, after all, and even if he didn't have the expectation that they would travel with him I think he would still have set up the place with them in mind. And, slightly unrelated, but Elizabeth actually gets her own room this time instead of just sharing one with Meliodas since it seemed a bit weird to me that she was sharing a room and a bed with the guy when she only just met him. But that's just a side note.
Thanks so much for asking, I love your questions!! XDDD

Some people are saying the "since I lost you" is a mistranslation and it was supposed to be more ambiguous like "since they lost you".
Even though I still think King was indeed talking about him, do you think the other translation would make more sense?
I suppose it does make sense but I believe he did out right and said "since I lost you" King backtracked so hard after he said that and you know King can read minds and Nasiens just gone through an existential crisis moment with him realizing he's a fairy this entire time. I suppose King didn't want to add on to that, Nasiens is going through so much and King doesn't want to overwhelm him further that's all.
