01. seojun was born and raised in damyang, south korea. 02. he had an ideal childhood: loving parents, friends in the neighborhood, studied in a small but very good school, everything was great. he only has good memories of his childhood. 03. his parents always supported him and encouraged his desire to move to seoul so he could attend a good university and study criminology, with the plans of becoming a police officer in the future. 04. he had good grades in school, and that helped him get a scholarship in a good university in seoul. 05. his plans of becoming a police officer changed when he met his fiaceé, she studied criminology too, and she told him about nis and he decided that he was going to join the agency with her. 06. they were both accepted at nis as clandestine agents and they had a good time working together here and there, but things changed after their third year of service. 07. his fianceé was shot when he was absent in a mission in japan, he got back from the mission to her funeral and he was deeply affected by her death. 08. he took a break from nis immediately after that, joined the army and after 21 months there, he’s finally back!!! 09. he’s not over his fianceé’s death yet, so he’s very bitter and distant and cold right now. will get back to his actual personality slowly... *eyes emoji* he does get psychological and psychiatric help. 10. he’s really good with physical combat and and that’s what he teaches to the trainees, they’re gonna have a hard time with seojun --- he’s very demanding.

who’s that boi oh shit *bass boosted* what’s up i’m eve, kangwoo’s writer here at NIS! it’s been a while since i rped so i hope you guys can bear with me ;u; i’m so excited to be here, tbh! his muse is one of those who just creeps up on you and i have zero impulse control so,, yesh. 

without further ado, please like this post if you’d like to plot and i’ll come your way!! in the mean time, i’ll try to put a couple of facts abt him and plot ideas below. 

seo kangwoo aka noir. 28 years old. clandestine agent 

hails from a middle-lower class family. they had some financial struggles after he was born

his childhood mostly consists of helping his parents out either with chores or job

takes after his mother a lot and way closer to her, but he has his father’s hands when it comes to handiwork

anyway their lives were pretty much,, peaceful. they learned to make do with what they have

until one day they received a call from the hospital that their father was found dead on the way home after delivering one of his pieces to the customer

their mother quickly took over the role of the backbone... but it didn’t last long because she was diagnosed with cancer shortly after

and boom. an uncle they never knew they have appeared with a job offer for the big bro

ofc, the boy took it

....only to die on his fourth year during a mission. death favors the daring?

so kangwoo has no other choice but to join NIS as well, despite his mother’s refusal

surprisingly came out as one of the top ten in his batch. his uncle always thought he had the potential

this dumbass forgot to put this in his bio so... during his second year of being an active agent, he watched his close friend and partner murdered in front of his eyes. he himself was tortured by the enemy until he somehow managed to break free and finish the mission

staggered into the hq all bloodied up

so now, dude is kind of... traumatized. but he doesn’t let it get to him (or does he?) since he can’t afford to lose money for his mom

but he has been having difficulties cooperating with people afterwards. he’s scared of losing someone he cares about again so he keeps people within an arm’s length

— his dad is a nis agent, and yongjin’s conception is completely an accident. his mother dies at childbirth and his dad is suddenly responsible for the baby. not wanting to let go of his job and future, he gives yongjin to her sister, an eccentric aunt who is a writer and stays at home for the most time.

— yongjin grows up really spoiled. he is the sole attention of his aunt who loves him and dotes on him 24/7. he does gymnastics, fencing — anything he wants, he gets. he grows up as a very mischievous and energetic child, and studies hard until he gets into a good university as a communications major. him & his aunt celebrate together, smiles on their faces.

— his father only comes by every few months, and yongjin has no idea what the man does, and knows very little about his mother. it all combines and he blows up one day, demanding answers and getting none. it infuriates him and he closes himself in his room and ignores everyone for a day.

— and then, everything takes a bad turn. when he’s out grocery shopping with his aunt, a masked man opens fire towards them, and they both get shot. yongjin doesn’t remember getting shot himself, but he remembers his aunt dying in his arms and then opening his eyes in an hospital with his dad on his bedside. the man is solemn, keeping something from him that yongjin has no idea what.

— his dad also disappears soon after that and yongjin fights through university because he promised his aunt that he would get his degree. he has no idea what he will do afterwards, still surrounded by immense grief. a couple of days before the graduation, one of his professors give him a pamphlet about nis training programs, and it suddenly gives him a purpose. a goal to help others suddenly becomes a solution to everything, and yongjin signs up immediately.

— training is challenging to say the least, but his background in sports help out with the physical part of training. the rest is more challenging, but yongjin gets through, and decides to specialize in asset training & executive operations.

— personality wise: he is very loud, talkative, loves to have fun and spend time with friends. he can be (read: is) a handful, and doesn’t have a proper filter in situations he probably should. because he doesn’t have any family members he is in contact with, he puts extra care into friendships and would do absolutely everything for them. other than that, teamwork is tricky because while he puts the mission at the forefront, if there is someone he’s annoyed with, yongjin will be purposely difficult with them. very stubborn if he wants to be, there are times he pokes his nose in situations he shouldn’t.

— he is left to an orphanage soon after birth, has no idea why. as a curious child, he never gets any replies to his questions, some are too hard for the teachers, some simply don’t have any answers, and it infuriates him from a young age. he lashes out, gets into fights, and is labelled as the resident ‘troublemaker’

— he is that kid with scratches all over his knees and bruises on his arms, not hesitating to pick many fights for whatever reason he deems necessary. he is outed in the way that not many people want to be friends with a troublemaker, that is, until doyoon comes to the orphanage as well and they hit it off really well.

— child abuse tw: when he is 13, he is taken by a foster family for six months. they pay him no special care, and going back to his normal ways, taewon begins to cause trouble in the new school. their idea of punishment is much more painful than what he expects, and after a second incident, he runs out. after hours in the police station, he is accepted back into the orphanage.

— he is angry again, angry at the fact that nothing has changed, that people are looking at him with pity this time. it takes him a while to get used to the environment back again, he is assigned psychologists he hates, people who keep asking him questions he doesn’t like. doyoon is a great help at making him realize he can leave it all behind, and he does just that. he buries the past six months and ignores them completely.

— and then he has to grow up. doyoon leaves for university, and taewon knows he has to make something of himself too. so he studies hard and gets into a university in seoul, begins majoring in mechanical engineering. soon after, his professor tells him that he could double major if he wanted to, so he studies harder and majors in robotics as well.

— four years spent in college is one of his favourite time periods in his life. he has a lot of fun, does what he actually enjoys. when his best friend needs to leave, it saddens him immensely but he is proud as well. when he is battling with finding a career, he asks to talk with one of his advisors, and they help him out — he can work at a military research facility for the government, and that idea seems the best out of many.

— he works there for three years, developing vehicles at first and then they switch to devices and weapons. it’s a challenging team with so many bright minds, but he enjoys his time there. that is until he is hit with the realization that they are being used, perhaps on innocent lives — it’s a passing news on the tv, but it effects him, making him have second doubts.

— it gets out in the open soon enough, and taewon tells his higher-ups that he isn’t sure if the research facility is the best place for him anymore. they tell him he can still work for the government but elsewhere, and nis comes into the picture. it’s a place where he can be much more creative, and even though it’s the lesser of two evils, taewon doesn’t mind it as much.

— PERSONALITY: the spitfire is still a good label for him. after 3 yrs with the military and 6 yrs with nis, he has learned how to behave, but there are still some problems. if someone messes with him, he is too quick to react, but he usually lets it seethe now rather than doing something immediately. he is very work-oriented, and genuinely loves what he does, which is why he tries to stay out of trouble. it’s hard to befriend him, as he is quite blunt and direct at times, but once you are friends, you are friends for life.

haewon has a soft heart ok she probably doesn’t have what it takes to be in the agency, getting to know people really well only to watch them go on dangerous missions, but she’s good at pretending so if she’s acting tough it’s more than likely an act lbr

haewon has a cat named yuna who she loves with all of her heart--- if she could take all of her work home just to spend the day with her cat, she would do it in a heartbeat

haewon is fluent in seven languages ( korean, english, mandarin, japanese, spanish, french, and thai ) and spends a lot of her free time familiarizing herself with others--- name any language you may need for a mission, and haewon can have you sounding like an over-excited tourist in no time

not only that but she has both a bachelors degree in linguistics and a masters in linguistic anthropology so she knows a lot about cultures and dialects, she’s your one stop shop before leaving for any sort of foreign mission

here goes some little info about this child:

01. minjae wasn’t allowed to go out of his parents’ house until he turned sixteen. his parents didn’t want him to have contact with other people so they could raise a perfect child. 02. he was homeschooled by his mother and for this reason, he got into university earlier when he was sixteen years old. he spent many years studying intensely with his mother so he could get into a good university as soon as possible. 03. his father is an influential doctor, owner of a big hospital, and did what he could to put minjae in university a lot earlier than other kids. he wanted minjae to study medicine, but minjae didn’t feel comfortable with that --- so he chose psychology instead, his parents hesitantly accepted his choice. 04. he studied to become a psychologist, despite his father telling him to study medicine instead so he could run the hospital in the future. 05. that was the first time minjae had contact with strangers and he was shocked, but his desire to graduate and help others was stronger. he’s always been a good listener, and he found his true passion in psychology. 06. he finished his studies ( graduation and a doctor degree ) at the age of twenty-four. years of intense studying with the constant demand and control from his parents. 07. his father’s indication got him into NIS. he worked in the hospital for a little while, but his father had his contacts and found a way to put minjae to work isolated in NIS. 08. he finished his training when he was twenty-six, and has been in service for six months. despite being relatively young in NIS, he does everything he can to be a good professional and provide the best treatment for his patients.

helloooooooo, it’s rosé coming to the party with my son, lee hansol! i’m bad at introducing myself so i’m going to jump straight to his summary, and he has an intro snippet that can be found here. he’s basically a sinnamon roll working as a hacker for nis, and he was once trained for marksmanship for half a year. swapped clandestine for intelligence due to a reason divulged below. here is where you can find his biography and profile. if you’d like to plot, please give this a like and i’ll come to you! i also have twitter and discord which you can contact if you wish, but i’m fastest on the latter!

truths he doesn’t know: he was born as the only son of two freelance agents, mother becoming former when she found out about her unplanned pregnancy. his mother then acted like she was a mere housewife while his father travelled for business. father was barely home, so he has never known him that well... if at all.

he grew up with his mother, basically. she was the crutches that kept him standing straight. book smart, but he also had violence planted in his crux as a trait. he was irritable as a child, still is until now although he’s better at managing it. he attended a private school in new york, where he was born and raised.

at nine, his father made him hold a gun for the first time, and taught him how to shoot. it was the first jigsaw puzzle that caused him to ponder about it a lot as he grew older. at sixteen, when the lies became murky, they were on the verge of danger, especially his mother and him. so, he was sent to seoul to live with his grandparents from mother’s side. was agitated because she never really came to seoul as promised.

he kept those things from the past in mind, learning hacking by himself at first before delving into computer science as a major in snu. he eventually found his father in the deep web, albeit incomplete. the data was scattered, and he couldn’t piece the puzzles together, which frustrated him.

enrolled in nis five years ago upon graduation from school with 3.9 gpa, and he was a good sniper, naturally following his instinct by choosing the marksmanship, but then the death of his mother spread across the deep web. post-trauma, he pulled himself from training to attend hacking secondary training instead.

he’s been an agent for two years now, and frankly speaking, can at least defend himself in field operation but he’d rather stay back than having to do that because of his mother’s death, and his father’s negligence. around fellow agents, he can be amicable, but he’s not the best at revealing emotions and the likes.

TRIGGER WARNINGS for mentions of parental death, drugs & violence.

born in north korea to devoted parents. family was impoverished and had to resort to drug trafficking just to get by. the majority of their money went into savings to eventually leave.

at the age of 11, his father was blamed for a crime he didn’t commit and subsequently jailed and sentenced to death in public by firing squad. jihae and his mother witnessed this.

not long after, he and his mother fled and made it to china-- difficult doesn’t even describe it. smugglers were paid off to get them to thailand but due to officials in the area, his mother gave herself up to distract from jihae’s presence. he would never see her again.

he makes it to south korea where he gives himself up to the officials there and is taken in as a refugee. he goes through the months long process of getting acquainted with things he’s never had before and adopted by a loving couple who have a younger daughter.

he grows to love the family he lives with but feels guilty and as if he’s betraying his real parents so he buries himself constantly in his room with his computer and little by little introduces himself to the world of hacking.

he graduates high school and proceeds to college with little prompting, moving to a campus dorm which is where he finally gets a little breathing room to expand on his skills while also settling into himself as an individual though he can’t shake that aimless feeling he has.

he gets bored of college-- not the atmosphere but the lessons which he considers unnecessarily tedious. he sticks with it though for reasons (*cough*making both families proud*cough*) and eventually graduates.

after college jihae somewhat goes underground with little to no contact with people he can’t talk to through a screen. ‘cinna’ is practically a household name amongst the community-- specifically one not to be messed with or else they’ll be burned.

he gets cocky, too cocky (at least that’s the story), and gets caught hacking into a government database. he’s arrested with pending charges for several felonies-- all of which he doesn’t fight.

the attempt draws the attention of nis and he is approached with the offer of it all going away provided he agrees to become an agent and work for them. he’s hesitant but accepts it.

jihae goes through PT and ST and it’s not easy in the least but he’s determined and he feels better off for it by the time it’s over, aimlessness settling into a genuine path. he accepts his badge and all that comes with being an agent with pride.

tldr:

jaehwa was raised a spoiled rich kid and was exactly that until around eighth grade when her parents found out she’s gay and actually started paying attention to her for once just to be homophobic and overbearing

she attended something kinda like a conversion camp disguised as a summer camp for troubled girls every summer during high school, but ya know sending a gay girl to a camp full of other gay girls kinda has the opposite effect

so she became a bit of a rebel in high school and started dying her hair crazy colors and getting piercings and tattoos just to spite her parents

once she graduated her parents told her they’d only pay for her college education if she agreed to something a bit like an arranged relationship, so she said yes if only to get the tuition money from her parents and then bail but then the guy she was set up with was actually super nice and understanding and they became best friends and started hacking their parents information together acting like a couple of vigilantes

during her senior year they finally compiled comprehensive evidence that their parents were white collar criminals and tried to go to the police but the parents ordered a hit and run on them before they could manage, so now all of their evidence is destroyed and jaehwa’s best friend is in a coma what great parents they have :)))))))

so once she recovered jaehwa joined nis as a trainee and she’s still super reckless and a bit of a brat but at least she’s got a better set of morals than the people who raised her smh

headcanons:

jaehwa used to dye her hair a different unnatural color every couple of months, but once she joined the training program, she was told to dye her hair from pink back to something more natural, so she went an ashy blonde kinda color to push buttons and get as unnatural as possible without getting kicked out

almost all of her ear piercings ( she has about five in each ear ) were done diy by her friends from summer camp--- similarly, she has a ton of tiny stick and poke tattoos scattered over her body that were done in a similar manner ( i.e. x x x ) a lot of them are in exposed areas of skin so she has to cover them up with makeup pretty often lmao

she originally began training aiming to be a hacker but she’s proven herself to be pretty damn good with a gun, so we’ll see where that takes her

she’s super reckless and will fight anyone she’s literally (ง •̀_•́)ง in human form
