Tokyo Olympics 2020 is finally taking place from 23rd July to 8th August this year and we can’t control our excitement! And to make it even more exciting, AR Rahmani and Ananya Birla Teamed up to cheer up and root for Indian Olympians ahead of the Games with their latest releaseHindustani way‘!

Oscar, BAFTA and Grammy winning composer AR Rahman joins records as composer and producer along with Ananya Birla Hindustani way And the song will undoubtedly bring out the patriot in you! The song is upbeat and establishes a message of unity and optimism, and we can’t stop listening to it. The music video is beautifully directed Danny Mamiko and Sahan HattangadiProduced by Ananya’s new production house Antimatter Media Pvt. Ltd. It includes major Olympic archival footage from Atlanta (1996), Athens (2004), Beijing (2002, 2008), Rio (2016), London (2012), as well as special training footage from this year’s contingent.

When asked about the birth of this song, Ananya said,

It is a true honor to write and sing a song to cheer our Indian Olympic contingent at Tokyo 2020. The grit and patience of the Indian Olympic team in the face of such a challenging year is inspiring! It was real to have the opportunity to collaborate with my role model AR sir on such a prestigious project from whom I have learned a lot. We’re cheering here, Hindustani way!

When asked about his involvement in the project, AR Rahman said,

We all are really excited to create this special song and hope our athletes can make the entire nation feel the love for them Hindustani way, when they hear it. It was a pleasure working with Ananya on this project and we look forward to extend our full support and best wishes to Team India through this! Jai Hind!

Nirmika Singh (born June 7, 1987) is a singer-songwriter, lyricist and music critic based in Mumbai.

 She has to her name a solo album, two singles and multiple collaborations. 

Nirmika currently holds the position of Executive Editor, Rolling Stone India, the Indian edition of the International music magazine Nirmika is one of the voices in music journalism in India and is also the youngest person to have a leadership role at Rolling Stone.

After a stint with The Indian Express as a trainee journalist, Singh moved to Mumbai in 2011 to join Hindustan Times as a music writer.
