When director Hidemaro Fujibayashi said that Zelda in TOTK is “going through growth, experiencing things, and ultimately figuring out what kind of a person she’s going to be,” how would you say that is reflected in the game? What kind of person do you think she realizes she wants to be? What scene(s) reflect her overall growth and how is it reflected in the ending?
alright i already love this question, so let's unpack this.
zelda going through growth is littered all throughout the game. especially her role as a ruler. which can tie back into her experiences and figuring out the type of person she's going to be. at the beginning, she's the first character that we are with. there is no link without zelda. yet, she's still being addressed as princess zelda and not as queen zelda despite the deaths of her mother and father. this shows us, that despite everything she's done, as the clear ruler of hyrule- her solely alone, that she still holds the utmost respect for zelda and still views him as the king as he did not die a natural death, but was killed in the calamity. she acts as if she is acting through him and not on her own accord. which i think speaks volumes to who she is as a person and who she wants to be. under her father's rule, she was viewed as "an heir to a throne of nothing" bc everyone before her, was able to do their duty until now. she is trying to figure out how she is going to rule a kingdom of people who looked down upon her for so long in the midst of the calamity rearing its head.
i'd say the biggest signs of her growth is her generosity. because hyrule was in such ruin from the calamity, her leaving memorials all over, rebuilding towns, helping to expand existing towns, building a school, doing all of this to show that yes, maybe she didn't awaken her powers in time (not her fault) and that a lot of people perished bc of it but she won't let them think of her as a princess that just doesn't care because she does care. we saw everything she went through trying to awaken the powers that nobody else saw. we saw how it ate her alive trying to save her people from something that hadn't even awoken yet.
then yet, there's so much that happened between those unspoken years from botw to totk, that we still don't know. but zelda cares and loves everyone. she is fiercely loyal and would do anything to protect them.
this much is definitely shown throughout the dragon tears scenes. when she figures out that her power of light didn't awaken bc her power of time is so much more powerful, yet again, when she needs it, she's unable to call upon it freely. so, she's nearly forced to stay in the past to help rauru and sonia and seal the demon king. so her ultimate sacrifice to become the light dragon is a testimonial act of her love, loyalty, protectiveness, compassion, and empathy for everyone she loves, especially for link. her last words before becoming a dragon are "link! protect them all". i can't think of anything else that really hunkers down on who zelda is as a person than this scene. no other zelda in the history of this franchise (minus maybe TP zelda) has made this big of a sacrifice for her kingdom.
but yet, i don't think her growth as a person is shown explictly in that scene. bc we saw that she's willing to protect her people in botw when she chose to seal herself away to hold calamity ganon. this sacrifice is bigger bc she does it knowing that she will not turn back and that once link retrieves his sword, she could still be roaming the skies.
the person i think zelda wants to be, is maybe who she wants to be remembered by, and i think by that she wants to show that power isn't everything. that you can still be powerful and do so much on your own time and persons, without those powers. that there are secrets that can be learned, and passages to be read to show how evil can be fought even without it. so that maybe down the line, if another zelda finds herself being unable to awaken her powers, she can look to our zelda and know, that she is not nothing. that she is worthy and powerful, just as she is.
which, by the ending, i think that's all but said. our zelda is going to start a new era of hyrule by her own rites and her own person. she saved hyrule. she saved link. and it makes her the best zelda we've ever seen.

Hyrule Warriors?
Since I did the regulars Hyrule warriors I’ll talk about Age of Calamity :) hope you don’t mind!
Ok, so, I understand why this game is so hated. Nintendo practically lied to us, marketing this as a prequel, which yeah, was a sucky thing to do. I don’t like that either. But…
Idk this game is weirdly special to me dhsksbsksbk. I 100% the game, dlc and all, and when you’re able to look past the fact that they lied to you, this game is pretty good! The fighting when you’re playing the right character is far more satisfying than Hw, and it’s a lot easier for me to play each battle. It was fun to 100%! I like Terrako, I like what they did with Rhoam, and yeah I’ve started to like Astor just a little bit. He’s my scrunkley loser. The introduction of Sooga was super cool and Kogha’s character was just, incredible. Plus they picked the PERFECT voice actor for him.
It’s really annoying how much it doesn’t follow botw tho. Like it’s connected, but not canonically. If I recall correctly, link pulled the master sword when he was 12? So what’s he doing here? Also they just… really tried to force Link and Zelda into the same proximity :/ I didn’t connect much to their relationship in botw but this game REALLY forced it huh. It’s annoying and it’s also disappointing how they didn’t explore Link’s family? Or anything about Link? Like great we have more stuff about Zelda but like, what about Link? Also why does Terrako follow him around when he’s obsessed with Zelda lol?
I also wish that they did more with the champions. Like giving them actual character arcs. I felt like they had so many ideas but such little time to actually explore any of it. Especially revali, who has the potential to being an extremely complex character. I also wish they did more with Sooga. He and Byrne kinda suffer in the same way to me :( I’m glad he’s at least playable in the dlc, but still.
But, I did love young robbie and Purah. The two scientists are so sexy it’s not even funny. And of course Impa is such a beloved omg I love her so much <333 tho she feels mega sidelined at the end :(
Also uh…. Why isn’t Astor playable? Unless I’m missing something but I’m very disappointed that Astor, the main villain, is not playable in this game? Pls if he is playable tell me cuz I wanna play as the crusty man.
Ok sorry I’m jumping all over the place but I did like calamity Ganon, he looked super cool. And harbinger Ganon also looked super cool. Like dang they went all out! And watching everyone fight at the castle was super dope :)
Now, even tho the gameplay is more fun and satisfying than Hw, it’s only more fun when you have the right character. Some of the characters in this game are painful to play as. The fairies, daruk, and Yunobo are ones that I hated playing as. They’re so painfully slow and it’s not fun :/
Idk this game has many good things and many bad things. But I like it a lot! It’s a good one!

BOTW SEQUEL IN DEVO
y’all better unfollow me this is all I’m talking about until it’s out. I’ve cried about this today, I will cry about this tomorrow. Breath of the Wild was everything to me. Breath of the Wild encapsulated the feeling I had playing Ocarina of Time and distilled it into the best game I could have ever asked for.
AND NOW WE GET A SEQUEL???

E3 hopes and dreams waiting to be crushed
I am not doing predictions cause let's be real E3 is about hyping up every game you would like to see and then getting either none, one or something you didn't even know you wanted. I am very excited.
So here is a list of things I would like to seeat E3 this year:
Xenoblade Chronicles
GIVE ME ANYTHING. But mostly X or X2. X deserves more love and attention. It deserves a second chance now that we have a popular console and the series has gained a lot of new fans with 2 and DE. Just pls give me Xenoblade. (X won't happen. Nintendo does NOT like to acknowledge that game even exists. But I will proudly clown with the like 5 other people in the fandom)
Fire Emblem
Honestly once again: Anything. A new game would be fun but seems to early for that. An Echoes like remake of an old Japan only title would be cool too. I also would really like Tellius ports or remakes. It's just time for more Fire Emblem. (I feel like FE is actually one of the more likely things to happen but would not be surprised of it didn't)
Zelda
Like obviously I (and everybody and their mothers) would like to see BOTW 2. I think now is the time. At least a trailer or teaser. My hopes for BOTW are actually very simple. 1. Playable Zelda. 2. No spiders. Really all that is needed to be perfect. Other Zelda things I'd like to see are a more classic top down game like A Link Between Worlds. But let's be honest we all just really want botw 2
Kingdom Hearts
Considering I now own a PS4 and recently started KH1 I will no longer beg for Switch ports. Now I am here to say it would be nice to see the next KH game but we all know it will take Nomura like 13 years to make it so maybe it's better if we don't get a trailer too early. Also it would be for next gen consoles so I wouldn't be able to get it anyway. I'd still like to see it tho. I am back on my KH bullshit and you will suffer with me
Final Fantasy
On a very related note: Show us the next part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake! Allthough it will take Nomura 7 years to make it and it would be PS5 so I can't get it. I'd still like to see it tho. Also I should finish my playthrough of FF7R... Another thing I'd like to see is more FF ports to Switch. I am curious about 13 so pls port those games?
New Style Boutique/Style Savvy/Girls Mode
Now you are probably thinking: wtf. This is a series of games that has a different name in each region (listed as Europe/Murica/Japan respectively here). These games were my jam on 3ds. You own a fashion boutique and are like a stylist and it is so much fun. Core gameplay is making outfits based on your customer's wishes. It is a great no pressure relaxing game but doesn't require the dedication of building a town in Animal Crossing. Really a guilty pleasure. I could write a whole post about what I would like to see in a new game. Maybe I will. Anyway I really hope this series didn't die with the 3ds. (Also remember the song Ring a Ding in Smash? That's from this series. It's great)
Tomodachi Life
I have been curious about this game and would like to try it and with Miitopia on Switch I feel like they could (and should) port Tomodachi Life too. Or make a new one. I don't know details about this game tho so I don't know how much they need to change for the new platform and making it more up to date in general (is gay marriage a thing in that game? If not it should be)
Anyway that is all I can think of right now. Really shows I really only play/watch like a few select series.. oops. Anyway I am looking forward to get literally nothing from this list. Clown make up at the ready!

Ok so, this might just be my wishful thinking but what if I say playable Zelda will actually be a thing. In the new trailer we see her falling down underground of what I would assume is the castle. After that we literally see nothing else from her and the next shots are about Link in the sky.
One thing that I thought was pretty weird was that Link used (a better) stasis with his cursed arm instead of using the sheikah slate. While it’s hard to actually see if he has the sheika slate or not, I could not see it on his hip at all. So what happened to the sheikah slate? It’s with Zelda. Or at least it is most likely with Zelda. You can’t see it when she is falling but considering how everything is trembling, there’s a chance it just fell somewhere near her down there. And I get why they don’t want Link with the sheikah slate, you want to keep things fresh and new and introduce new mechanics.
But the sheikah slate has (or at least had) a lot of importance in both the gameplay and the story. How are we supposed to teleport around the ground level? And Zelda is just super attached to it. It has the pictures she took, it was her main source of investigation and she definitely knows the slate is still important. So I don’t see nintendo just getting completely rid of it. So they give it to Zelda and we get to use the slate again in the underground areas of Hyrule. We get heaven so might as well get hell too right? We know Zelda isn’t powerless, her goddess powers are a 100% awake and the underground areas are probably crawling with malice. So the game is divided in the Link in the sky sections and the Zelda underground surrounded by demon smoke sections. Both get similar sheikah slate abilities that makes sense lore wise and we get two cool completely new sections.
Nintendo if you haven’t thought of this you can take this idea completely free of charge pls just give me playable zelda plsss.

Viddy Games Monthly #1 - February 2019
Is this really late? Sure Is!
Here's something new I'm trying! In this 'issue' (lol):
NEW RELEASES - A look back at everything exciting that dropped this month, from Resident Evil 2 to the new 2D Mario!
NEWS - January is usually pretty dry for viddy games, but there's some interesting stuff still!
Release dates, updates and more!
NEW RELEASES
Fitness Boxing (RD: January 4th - Nintendo Switch)
Tumblr media
And here we have Nintendo’s first real attempt in this console generation to draw in the fitness crowd they catered to so well with the Wii. Except, Fitness Boxing feels a lot more technical and niche than those other titles from a decade ago. Fitness Boxing’s main draw is teaching you how to improve your boxing form, meaning it’s definitely not one to play with the family unless you’re all die hard boxing fans. But if you’re less interested in picking up the technical aspects, Fitness Boxing works just as well as a fitness companion, coming packed with its own motivational trainer (I haven’t picked this game up purely because it would feel like I’m cheating on the Wii Fit Trainer. Plus this basically dashes all hope of Wii Fit Switch so I’ll need to mourn that for a hot minute).
Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey (RD: January 11th - Nintendo 3DS)
Tumblr media
As the 3DS reaches the end of its lifespan and its screentime in the Nintendo Directs gets shorter, this Mario & Luigi title could well be one of the last RPGs we see on the system. In this enhanced remaster, the worlds of turn based RPG and 2D platformer collide and, coupling this fact with some odd setpieces including Bowser’s literal stomach, also make for one of the weirdest games on the system. Despite this, there’s no doubt that it works. With the addition of the Bowser Jr.’s Journey expansion, there’s undoubtedly a wealth of content to explore here, especially if you’re new to this oddly charming RPG spin-off.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (RD: January 11th - Nintendo Switch)
Tumblr media
The latest in a long line of Wii U ports, Nintendo has bundled up Mario U and Super Luigi U and released it yet again on the Switch. This is by no means a bad thing, as we had yet to see a 2D Mario on the system, but the general consensus seems to be that the play time is much shorter than the price would have you believe. Of course, if you’re a die hard Mario fan, there’s no doubt you’ve already picked this up and it’s definitely worth a go if you didn’t have a chance to play on Wii U. Alongside this, new features include new playable characters and helpful items for if you’re like me and are terrible at platformers (I welcome these changes). But really, I think the talk of the town was the fact they patched in Blue Toad before release when everyone got sad that he was absent. Thanks Nintendo.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (RD: January 11th - Windows, Xbox One, PS4, Switch)
Tumblr media
An enhanced port with updated HD graphics to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this beloved entry in Bandai Namco’s Tales series. This edition comes packed with a beefy selection of new content, including all that was exclusive to Japan at the time of the PS3 port’s release. Generally, this game scored high at the time of its release, being cited as an interesting and unique JRPG that was made all the better by its trademark combat system that has been carried throughout the series.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season - Episode 3: Broken Toys (RD: January 15th - Windows, Xbox One, PS4, Switch)
Tumblr media
Against all the odds, the critically acclaimed Walking Dead game series has somehow survived the closure of its creator, Telltale Games, continuing under Skybound Entertainment. The series continues to shine in critic reviews, which thankfully continues into the penultimate episode, Broken Toys. With a firm release date of the final episode being March 26th, we won’t have to wait long to finally witness the end of Clementine’s story.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes (RD: January 18th - Nintendo Switch)
Tumblr media
The third entry in the No More Heroes series has finally arrived 9 years after its second effort, though this time to mixed reviews. The gameplay fans of the series are used to has been totally overhauled this time around, instead throwing Travis into a possessed game console containing six wildly different, self-contained video games. This time, the gameplay is entirely from a top-down perspective. Some enjoyed this radical change of pace for the series, but other fans of Travis believed the drastic change was a little too jarring to enjoy in contrast to this entry’s predecessors.
Resident Evil 2 remake (RD: January 25th - Windows, PS4, Xbox One)
Tumblr media
The highly anticipated remake of Capcom’s horror classic finally dropped this month, and let’s be honest, it’s everything fans wanted. The controversial move to ditch the usual fixed camera the early RE games are known for so the game could be built in Capcom’s home-grown Resident Evil 7 engine was what made the game so immersive and genuinely terrifying. With tons of gameplay tweaks, Capcom managed to tread the line between creating a fresh experience and staying faithful to the original game. Entirely different puzzle solutions, new dialogue and a whole new playable character in Sherry Birkin ensures that those who know the original inside out will still have more to discover, but the return of each horrifying boss and setpiece in glorious HD puts the nostalgia into overdrive. Plus, the tofu block came back so really there’s nothing to gripe at.
Kingdom Hearts III (RD: January 29th - Xbox One, PS4)
Tumblr media
Here it is. The game fans have been waiting 14 years for. The one that ties every character and confusing plot arc together and says ‘Merry christmas, Baymax is in this game now!’
With a few fan favourite worlds returning among a handful of new ones, Kingdom Hearts has finally launched itself into the current gen with a heartfelt tale of friendship and big hair. There really is very little to say about this, because we all knew it was going to be good.
Also out this month:
First person shooter Bright Memory released this month to positive reception, despite controversy around the stolen assets used by the devs.
Charming adventure game Vane dropped this month, allowing players to explore a beautiful world as a boy who can turn into a bird.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, the critically acclaimed combat flight sim series, released for PS4 and Xbox One, with some great VR content.
Life Is Strange 2 Episode 2 - Rules released this month, continuing the heartfelt tale of two brothers on the run
Gothic Indie RPG Sunless Skies released at the very end of January, showing a detailed focus on narrative and exploration
NEWS
What’s been happenin’? Probably a lot, but this is what I picked up on!
Metroid Prime 4 has gone a bit wonky
Tumblr media
As everyone has probably heard by now, the long awaited Metroid Prime 4 has officially been halted and restarted, as announced in a commendably transparent video Nintendo published on their YouTube channel last month. Basically, they weren’t happy with how development was going so they’ve gone back to square one, this time with the help of past Prime developers Retro Studios. Honestly, this is a really good sign, as it shows how committed Nintendo are to creating a solid game to stand next to the other three. Plus, this makes a Prime trilogy switch port way more likely in my eyes, so hooray for that.
Piranha Plant got here early!
Tumblr media
At the tail end of January, those who redeemed their plant boi codes turned on Smash and suddenly got the gratefully received ‘Piranha Plant joins the battle’ message! I can confirm I made a bit of a weird dolphin noise when I saw he’d turned up before the estimated February release. In another post, I’ll be breaking down his moveset in a bit more detail, so keep an eye out for that if you’re a fellow plant connoisseur!
Sony patents retro back-compatibility for PS5?
Tumblr media
A new patent Sony put through last month that they tried to sneak by us MAY hint at retro back-compatibility for their next system, spanning all four of their home consoles. If this news is true, this could give Sony a massive edge in the next console gen, as remasters and retro games become increasingly popular, as well as the fact that people are unlikely to want to leave the considerable PS4 library behind. So at the very least, we can hope for PS4 games to be playable on the PS5.
Cross platform achievements could be a thing!
Tumblr media
A since removed GDC listing teased the possible integration of Xbox Live onto iOS, Android and, interestingly, the Nintendo Switch! At a base level, this would very probably mean that achievements between these two consoles would be cross compatible, or at least viewable on either console. While nothing is confirmed just yet, this could be a sign of the growing partnership between Microsoft and Nintendo.
Nintendo is really lovin’ their mobile games!
Tumblr media
With Switch sales beginning to level out ever so slightly, Nintendo seems to be turning to the mobile market. A mobile Mario Kart was announced a couple of years ago, but now it finally has a name, Mario Kart Tour. It’s now slated for a Summer 2019 release. Alongside this, Nintendo have announced Dr. Mario World for mobile, as well as rumours bubbling under that Dragalia Lost could be seeing a localised port for Canada and Europe.
New Nintendo Selects for the States!
Tumblr media
Super Mario Maker, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and Star Fox 64 3D have arrived in America as Nintendo Selects, thankfully proving that Nintendo aren’t quite willing to let the 3DS die just yet. Not to be that guy, but Majora’s Mask over in Europe as a select would be pretty great. Pls.
Indie Highlights
Tumblr media
And finally, Nintendo has dropped another Indie Highlights on us, featuring the likes of Wargroove, When Ski Lifts Go Wrong, Forager and the (long awaited?) Goat Simulator port. Worth a look if you’re looking for something a little wackier to play this month!
That’s all the headlines for this month!
FREE VIDYA
Are you subscribed to whatever online service your console has? Then oh boy, you got some free stuff!
NES Nintendo Switch Online - Blaster Master & Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Tumblr media
This month, Nintendo added the ever wonderful and upsettingly hard Zelda II to their retro lineup, along with lesser known run-and-gun platformer Blaster Master.
PlayStation Plus - Steep & Portal Knights
Tumblr media
It’s a good month for snowboard enthusiasts over on the PS4 this month, as Ubisoft’s open world sports game Steep joins the lineup. Alongside this, the artistically charming RPG Portal Knights was free last month. January also marked the final month of PS Plus support for the Vita and PS3, with Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion & Super Mutant Alien Assault joining the Vita lineup and Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Amplitude free for PS3 owners
Xbox Game Pass
Tumblr media
January was a hecking good month for members of the Xbox game pass, with the entire Life Is Strange saga joining the service, along with other quality games such as Just Cause 3, Farming Simulator 17, Absolver, Aftercharge and ARK: Survival Evolved.
RELEASE DATES
Yoshi’s Crafted World
Tumblr media
Nintendo released a story trailer for Yoshi’s creative new outing, showing off Baby Bowser and Kamek as the game’s villains. The release date set for this uniquely cardboard platformer is March 29th, so fans won’t have to wait long!
Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn
Tumblr media
Breathing new life into the 3DS is this enhanced port of Kirby’s Epic Yarn, which originally released on the Wii in 2010. Featuring all new content that wasn’t available the first time around, fans of the Kirby series will be able to pick this up from March 8th.
Final Fantasy remasters
Tumblr media
After the exciting announcement in September that beloved Final Fantasy games would be coming to other consoles in 2019, Square Enix have finally announced release dates for a couple of these titles. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will hit the Switch and Xbox One on April 16th, while Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age arrives on both of these consoles on April 30th.
RUMOURS
Welcome to probably the most controversial segment of this, the rumour-y bit! Just a pre-warning that nothing talked about here is by any means confirmed, so keep your expectations tempered.
SNES for Switch Online?
Tumblr media
A recent datamine into the NES Switch Online app has apparently revealed a list of 20 SNES games in the code that could be coming to the system in the future, including Mario World, Kirby Superstar, A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. I’m hesitant to say this is true because nothing has been said on Nintendo’s end yet, but considering the lack of content for Switch Online as of yet, I’d say it’s fairly likely in any case. If this is true, we can all hope for DK Country and EarthBound also because pls Nintendo.
Smash Ultimate Fighter Pass Leak
Tumblr media
There have been two notable datamines in the past month that could reveal our four remaining DLC fighters for Smash Ultimate. The first uncovered three names in the coding for the game, Plant (obviously referring to Piranha Plant), Jack (Likely Joker from Persona 5) and Brave (Speculated to be Erdrick from the Dragon Quest series). The reason why Brave is so heavily speculated to be Erdrick is because, in Japan, the hero class Erdrick belongs to in Dragon Quest is called ‘Yusha’, which translates to brave in English. Alongside this, one of the heads of development for Smash Ultimate, Shinya Kumazaki, recently posted a photo of the iconic shield from Dragon Quest with the caption ‘the brave’s shield’, which naturally sent the internet into meltdown. Personally, I think Erdrick is pretty much a dead cert for the DLC roster at this point, especially after that Instagram tease.
Thanks for reading!
In the next issue, most likely in the first week of March, I’ll be reviewing the likes of Jump Force, Metro Exodus, Far Cry New Dawn and Anthem, plus giving you a rundown of anything game-y that happens in February! Plus, the new game of the month feature will begin next time, as I explain my choice for January’s best game. Have a fun day. Stay hydrated.

Nintendo Direct 2.13.2019 Discussion
HOLY FUCK WHAT A DIRECT
NINTENDO LITERALLY STARTED WITH SUPER MARIO MAKER 2. This year we goin’ big time! I am also happy for the 3D World addition, and, of course, slopes. THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE OF HAVING TOAD, TOADETTE AND MY GREEN BOI AS PLAYABLE CHARACTERS THERE, SO HOLD ONTO YOUR SEATS UNTIL JUNE PEOPLE
Then more footage from Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3. I was satisfied with what I got but then it got better lol
Following that my lil boi Qbby and his gf returned to the scen with a new BoxBoy! Yay! Oh yeah, Qddy returned too
Then the part that made me feel the worst. Like, NINTENDO ANNOUNCES A LITERAL 3.0 UPDATE WITH FUCKING NEW CONTENT YET TO BE REVEALED?! WHAT THE HELL AAAAA
AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE JOKER TEASE. THANK GOD NINTENDO SAID HE WOULD COME OUT AT THE END OF APRIL OR ELSE I WOULD HAVE SNAPPED
Captain Toad updates look really really cute. Might get them with the game.
Following the captain I FINALLY see for the first time footage for Bloodstained and, gotta be honest, IT’S HELLA FIRE
Dragon Quest Builders 2 looked really simple and adorable.
The trailer for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age- Definitive Edition convinced me to simply buy it without asking why
But then...
FUCKING DISNEY TSUM TSUM RECEIVED A PARTY GAME. NINTENDO, YOU ARE A MADMAN! Will buy asap
The Starlink updates gave the feeling of compensating for having only Fox as a playable pilot from his series.
I wasn’t THAT interested for Rune Factory 4 and 5.
Oninaki felt like an interesting project and it’s story reminds me of Spirited Away for some reason
Gotta say tho, the cutest thing I’ve seen in the Direct was a Yoshi wearing the Labo Piano. IS THERE ANYTHING CUTER?! Oh wait, there’s Kirby as Pirahna Plant.
Everything they showcased me regarding Three Houses convinced me to give it a shot. Literally everything. I might choose to join Edelgard’s house since she was the first of the three to be revealed.
Then, ladies and gentleman, came Tetris: Fortnite Edition. Seriously, that’s its true name, it’s a battle royale, come on.
After watching Dead by Daylight I thought: “What if somebody does it, but with ALL of the horror movie icons like It, Freddy Kreuger and Chucky?”
I was happy for the Deltarune chapter 1 reveal. BUT I WAS HAPPIER WHEN I FOUND OUT IT’S FREE. And then I got angry for the fact that follwing chapters won’t be free. But I know Toby’s hard at work and I will pay galleons of money to simply see where is the doggo in the game.
The things from Daemon X Machina up to Hellblade didn’t get my interest.
Although I have to say, I was surprised they revealed Unravel two for Switch. That made me happy, I can finally be a Yarny!
I knew that they would give release dates for FFVII and related games.
Astral Chain joins the Platinum family of games that look deep in terms of story and deserve to be played, along with W101 and the Bayonetta trilogy. Thank god they also gave an update on Bayo 3′s development or else someone would have gone nuts.
I prayed to god that the last reveal was Erdrick, but now I ain’t trusting leaks anymore. Gotta say tho, Link’s Awakening looks like the least noticed of the Zelda games, and I hope it gets more love when it gets released. Also, LINK Y U SO CUTE IN 3D GRAPHICS AAAA
I am really curious for all the secrets Nintendo’s hiding about Smash’s 3.0 update and Joker. Let’s hope they stop teasing us and give actual fucking gameplay for once next April.
The Direct gets a 7.5/10 for me for lack of Smash content. 8/10 if Super Mario Maker 2 has amiibo costumes like the 1st one and even more of them.
P.S.: Does anyone have the most recent version of the Everyone is Here banner with Pirahna Plant? Not the one from the website that scrolls, I mean a static one where Ridley’s big mouth isn’t divided in two pieces. If u have it send it pls thanks a lot gudbai

10 Most Anticipated Releases for (the rest of) 2018
I’m excited about a lot of things. So are a lot of other people. So this list shoves all of the music, films, games and TV shows scheduled for release this year that I’m most excited about into one handy list. Enjoy some content and let me know if one of your faves is in here too!
Also, yes the picture is just a switch, but this list does still contain stuff other than games. What else do you put as a picture here other than like a stock image of what year it is? Idk I like putting pictures here, it keeps up an aesthetic u feel
Tumblr media
10. Super Mario Party (Release date: October 5th)
Tumblr media
Okay so I’m pretty much a sucker for anything Nintendo based at the minute, especially since I only just got a Switch and I really have a lot of catching up to do (still haven’t played Zelda or Mario Odyssey) and the only Mario Party game I’ve ever played is the one where you’re in the car that everyone seems to hate. So while this isn’t the most hyped thing on my radar, or anyone’s radar really, I’m still pretty excited to see the newest addition of what is basically just a Mario board game.
Hey at least Waluigi is playable in this.
9. Hotel Artemis (Release date: July 20th)
Tumblr media
This film looks fuckin great. I always talk about going to see a film on a whim because it looks kinda cool, but never do considering how far away my nearest cinema is. But for this one, I think I’ll make the effort. I mean, a film about a criminal hospital that has Dave Bautista, Jodie Foster and Jeff Goldblum in it? And also Gazelle from Kingsman? Big yes.
8. Doctor Who Series 11 (Release date: Probably the autumn or something)
Tumblr media
I’ve been a fan of this show since I was basically a toddler and have loved to bits every one of the modern doctors so far. So now we’re finally getting a woman in the role, that’s something to be very, very excited about. And also three companions? Yeah this series will be good and I’m ready for it.
7. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC (Release date: A day that isn’t today)
Tumblr media
I was 100% sure that Nintendo weren’t doing any more content for MK considering it’s a port, but there was a reveal on a Nintendo Twitter account that there’s some content coming soon. This is actually one of two Switch games I own right now (pls send me games) so new content would be cool, hopefully in the form of some new characters and courses. Give me Funky Kong and the Waluigi Pinball course and I’ll be a very happy bean.
6. Ant-Man and the Wasp (Release date: August 3rd)
Tumblr media
I know literally everyone in the world has already seen this but I’ve still got a couple of weeks before the new Marvel boi and I’m really excited to see where everything goes. As much as Antman was never my absolute fave, I’m hyped to see Hope take on a more central role this time. Plus that salt shaker fight from the trailer has got to be worth a watch.
5. The Walking Dead: The Final Season (Release date: August 14th)
Tumblr media
As I mentioned in my Walking Dead themed post, I’ve been spending a lot of time catching up on missed seasons of this amazing set of game series and have now finally finished the Michonne miniseries. So I’m really excited to see how Clem’s story wraps up and whether or not any of the AWOL characters will return.
4. Life Is Strange 2 (Release date: September 27th)
Tumblr media
Here’s another series of games that made me feel a lot of emotions back in the first game’s release in 2015. There was just something so powerful about the cheesily-written characters, hard hitting storylines and a perfect indie soundtrack that just struck every nerve for me. So after a slightly disappointing prequel in last year’s Before the Storm, I’m happy that Dontnod are taking the reins again for this one. Also, if you haven’t played the Captain Spirit prequel yet, it’s amazing and also it’s free. V much worth your time.
3. ‘Simulation Theory’ by Muse (Release date: November)
Tumblr media
Muse were my favourite band for a long ass time and are still definitely one of my favourites so I’m very, very excited for our first album since 2015′s Drones, which feels like forever ago. I’ve loved all the singles from the album so far, especially Thought Contagion. The single Something Human, which literally came out today, continues this weird 80s dystopian vibe they’ve got going on with this and I’m here for it. It’s kind of shaping up to be one of their strongest efforts yet. (Also, Simulation Theory isn’t the confirmed title, it’s just what a lot of people deciphered and it makes the most sense so I’m running with it)
2. Bastille’s Third Album (Release date: Late summer?)
Tumblr media
Another contender for favourite band status, Bastille’s debut quickly became one of my favourite albums and 2016′s Wild World only cemented their place as an all-time fave. We’ve already had some pretty great albums this year (Mania, Pray For The Wicked, The Now Now), but with Quarter Past Midnight being a certified bop, I am seriously excited to see what else they’ve come up with this time.
I promise u I’m definitely not a more biased Watchmojo clone in blog form but here’s some hONORABLE MENTIONS:
Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Release date: September 21st)
Tumblr media
Fallout 76, even though I’m still a lil bit cautious of this one (Release date: November 14th)
Tumblr media
Daredevil Season 3 (Release date: Whenever it comes out I guess)
Tumblr media
1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Release date: December 7th)
Tumblr media
If you’ve seen a single one of my other blog posts, you’ll know how overly excited I am for this. I’m a more casual player so most of my excitement comes through potential newcomers, but even with the game as it stands, it’s looking to be pretty good. My hype for this game is basically endless (pls give us Rayman I will die happy if that happens)
What are you excited for that’s happenin’ in the rest of 2018? Send me a thing if u have any. Also, if the Walking Dead games are your thing I’ve got a post right here listing all the characters I want to see return. Have fun!
Thank for reading!
