Taking a Chance in the Garden

Cole looked around the small group of people that were standing in his father's practice room, trying to find a particular blonde head. He had lost her a few moments after they had walked through the door after their date. Cole silently cursed himself that he had forgotten about the surprise party that the others had been planning for Lloyd's 20th birthday.

Cole had planned on asking Daniella something that would change both of their lives. And during their walk through the park, he had finally worked up the courage. But his plan was short lived when he received an angry text from Jay asking where they were. His heart dropped as he remembered that they were supposed to be getting the birthday cake. Something that would have taken a couple of hours, not all day. On the way back to his father's house, he tried to find the words that he had planned on saying, but found that they kept getting stuck in his throat.

Lloyd had seen Cole's worried look from across the room. He could tell that there was something important on his mind, and the way he kept scanning the room, Lloyd figured that it had something to do with his sister. Lloyd made his way across the room.

"Are you okay?" Lloyd asked.

"Yeah. Just great! Why would anything be wrong?" Cole answered quickly, trying to cover the his nerves.

"Because you look like you lost a small child at the mall," Lloyd replied, knowing the look of mothers when they had asked him to help find their child. Cole sighed, knowing that his cover was blown.

"I lost your sister. She was right next to me when we walked in, but then it was like the group just swallowed her," he confessed, motioning to the people mingling in front of them.

"My sister can handle this. The other kept the group small enough so that she wouldn't be overwhelmed. Besides, she's a big girl. You don't have to hold her hand for the rest of her life."

"But that's kinda the plan," Cole mumbled under his breath.

"What are you talking about?" Lloyd asked. Cole jumped slightly when he realized that Lloyd had heard him. He let out another sigh as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a yin-yang pendant.

Lloyd looked from the pendant, to Cole, then back to the pendant. Cole waited anxiously as he watched the gears in Lloyd's head turn, connecting the dots. Lloyd snapped his head back up when Lloyd realized what Cole had been planning, and what Lou had meant as the two had walked back to the party. Lloyd spun around, looking for his sister but crossing the room when his gaze met Kai's. Cole watched as Lloyd walked off before quickly stuffing the pendant back into his pocket.

Cole's mind began to race as he watched Lloyd talk to Kai animatedly. He couldn't tell if Lloyd was excited or mad, but the Earth ninja had hoped it was the former. He felt as if time had slowed as he watched the conversation from afar, not knowing what was being said. Shortly after Lloyd and Kai had started their conversation, it had ended with Lloyd frantically waving his arms to get Cole’s attention. Cole raised an eyebrow in response. Lloyd pointed to the back door that led out into his mother’s garden. Cole nodded before making his way out the door.

He found Daniella sitting in the middle of the garden on a stone bench, looking up at the stars. He smiled to himself as he gently patted his pants leg for an extra boost of courage. He walked across the little stone path and sat down next to the blonde, letting his gaze fall on her cheeks.

“What are you doing out here?” Cole asked.

“Just taking a break,” she answered. Cole nodded as his gaze slowly moved from her face to the garden. He eyes looked at each of the different plants before settling on a single lily.

“You know. I haven’t been here in a very long time,” he said, letting a small smile grace his features as he remembered planting the lily with his mother.

“But this garden is so pretty,” Daniella gasped, looking from the stars to him.

“That’s what my mom thought too. She came out here every day when she could. She enjoyed the color that the plants brought to the garden,” Cole replied. Daniella nodded in agreement.

“She always said that a garden was something special. It was a place for you to plant what you liked. To be who you wanted to be. Like an escape from the judgement of the world. A garden was meant to be shared with the important people in your life. The ones that you let into your heart.”

“Do you think she would have minded that I was here?” Daniella asked, fighting with the edges of her skirt.

“My mother would have loved you. You are kind and compassionate and you protect everyone from things that they aren’t ready for. You know what you want and you work hard to get there. You give your heart and soul into everything that you do. And I could go on and on into the night about the things that made me fall in love with you. But I’d rather spend my entire life with you, showing you just how much you mean to me.”

Cole paused as he stood up and reached into his pocket before getting down on one knee before Daniella, holding out his parent’s Yin-Yang pendant in front of her. Daniella’s hands covered her mouth as she gasped, looking from the pendant to his tearful green eyes.

“Will you be my Yang?” Cole asked, his voice solid, but his hands shook slightly with nerves. Daniella could feel the tears rolling down her face in happiness. She nodded her head as she reached to wrap her arms around his neck. She lowered herself to the ground and nuzzled her face into his neck as he wrapped his arms around her and gently squeezed before placing a kiss on the side of her head.

Part one of the Wedding Project. I honestly didn't think that this would have grown into such a big project, but I am not disappointed. ^^ A lot has changed since I started this project, but I am so happy with the outcomes.

While I’m dying with a terrible sore throat that stings every time I cough and still healing after a dizzy spell, I thought I might treat you to some oc lore!!!

(Oc: Cinnabar, uses all pronouns)

Cinna debuts in season 2, named The Dragon Clan, and meets the Ninja after these weird dragon cultists harass Ninjago. However, Zane is the first one to meet Cinna when he falls down a hole and has to find a way back to his friends when they arrive at a crystal cave.

She gets attacked by some of the dragon cultists and is saved byyyyyy~ Cinnabar using their elemental power!! Crystallokinesis.

He’s like, “wtf? Who r u?? Are u a dragon cultist??” To which Cinna is like “Lol, no. I hate them.” Then we get some trauma dumping!!! Cinna says that the dragon clan killed their whole village but not before his successor gave him their power. But Cinna was too scared to do anything and hid. For like 10 years. A long long time.

Then Zane finds out something else. Cinna is an android!!! So they’re fucking shocked, Cinna is just as shocked when she finds out Zane is like them.

THEN Zane says his friends are here and they can help with Cinna’s dragon clan problem, and in fact, they’ve probably already found the dragon clan. To which Cinna promptly loses her shit and says how dangerous that is and that his friends will most definitely get killed. But after some back and forth on how Zane keeps saying they are ninja, Cinna agrees to help.

But, surprise surprise, the Ninja have been captured (including lil baby Lloyd), and are about to be used as a sacrifice. Cinna is all like “Why the fuck is there a child?” And Zane says he’ll explain later but they have to save her friends, and reluctantly Cinna says okay. So while Zane makes a distraction, Cinna goes to free the others who are definitely confused but wait to ask questions.

Then bla bla bla, they win, the dragon clan fuck off and omg, Cinna joins the group as a ninja! (Their primary gi colour is lavender)

Also, Cinna starts developing feelings for Zane <33

Lloyd was adopted by Mystaké after he let out the serpentin, his childhood wasn't skipped since in this au the tomorrow's tea incident didn't happen

He meets Yuna when her "babysitter" decides to just drop her off at Mystaké's teahouse so they can go on concerts undisturbed (or something like that)
