Full name: Kenichi Yuhara Akagawa (his realm's culture allows him to have more than one last name. Kenichi is particularly refered by both last names instead of just the second one, or simply his nickname)

Personality: Since young age, Kenichi always had a strong sense of justice and would stand up against whoever abused their power or position (like a bully teacher in school and abusive managers at his first jobs). He feels the need to be role model for his younger siblings, despite two already being adults. He's responsible and an empathetic person, which may cause him to have an overload of emotions from time to time, his head filled with overthinking, just wondering how once wrong word may ruin someone's day. He is nice and humors people whenever he can, however, it's just as easy for him to pull someone apart through words.

Kenichi is great at bluffing and lying, also very good at detecting people's lie, but doesn't call it out until the lies get attention, just for the extra humiliation of being caught on the act. However, he's very attentive on other people's needs and likes, so he's great at giving presents.

He has more filter than Valerie and Nessa together. Since he's careful with his words, he usually doesn't end up hurting people like his sisters do, and sometimes, still in adult life, calls them out on this. Don't get him wrong, he loves his family and still see his little sisters as babies deep inside.

Story: Kenichi is the older kid in his family, so since he was kid he was trying to not make mistakes and be a role model to Val and Nessa. He always have shown interest in art and would draw a lot.

As he grew older, he started to make his own designs, mimicking his father, who is also a couturies, and by his tweens was given a few responsibilities in his dad's commissions, like taking measurements, helping with designing and sewing smaller details his dad couldn't see. Kenichi developed a liking for embroidery by this age and still does it when needing to relax and clear his mind. He soon met Katarina Liang, a werefox living by the end of the street and his classmate, and fell head over hills for her, making her little gifts like jewellery inspired by the things she says she like.

He enjoys spending time with his siblings, and is the one who made Shiho's earrings and Shun's ring as birthday gifts. Kenichi is the one who gave Shiho a guide puppy in training when she and Shun were around four.

After bad consequences caused by his vanguard fashion show that deeply affected his sisters, he, Val and Kat tried making justice with their own hands, which eventually led to the creation of MVRR gang.

TRIVIA AND HEADCANONS!

His design is inspired by Wriothesley from Genshin Impact, but the personality is slightly inspired by Arataki Itto;

The only instrument he can play is the piano;

His favourite tea is chamomile tea;

Kenichi's code name comes from the concept of the Grim Reaper being the harvester of souls;

He's the best at giving presents (always knows what you'll like);

He's a self taught magic user;

Kenichi has broken his jaw multiple times in fights, now it doesn't functions well and he mostly eats soup or anything he doesn't need to chew much;

Therefore, he hates eating popcorn, not for the taste, but for the pain that comes after;

Knows basic medical stuff;

actually nicotine addict;

Despite being blind in one eye, he still has a sharp eye for details and is great at shooting guns;

Likes to annoy his little siblings every time he's back at home for family gatherings;

He has lilies tattooed on his left forearm, to reming him of his wife;

If he knew about the "I'm just Ken" trend, he'd definitely participated.

I think I could briefly talk about the three of them!

🐉 - Valerie is the only elemental master in her family, neither Nessa or Kenichi have any elemental powers. However, Kenichi taught himself how to use magic once the realms merged. The only power Vanessa has is the shape shifting ability shared by the people of her realm (is just a bit different than the Formlings).

🗡️ - Valerie is very good in combat, but she tends to forget she doesn't need to block and face every attack. Her chosen weapon are iron war fans. Kenichi mostly uses magic and does some sort of jiujitsu style of fight. Vanessa is the "weakest" among them, but knows some capoeira moves and learned how to use the naginata as a hobby (later she would take these more seriously).

🧠 - okay, this might be too long, so sorry in advance

Valerie and Kenichi were first created in 2017 because I wanted werewolf edgy OC's. Valerie used to use an axe instead of war fans, but her overall werewolf thingy and appearance were always the same. She also always had an "alt" aesthetic, or as alt as I could go as a 12 yo in the late 2010's thinking emo was very hardcore (ah, 12yo me was so dumb). I tried my best for her not to be a Mary Sue as well, so her outspoken and impulsive personality was always there. She was also created to be paired with Lloyd and they also always had this "haters to friends to lovers" dynamic. Again, as time went by, I needed to add good personality traita for her as well and I thought that her explosive/impulsive personality would contrast well with her being super nice and patient with kids and actually enjoying to be around them. 2017 Valerie could never! One cool detail about her desing is that her lighter brown locks were inspired by my hair when I was 12. It had lighter, slightly blonde locks because I used to be under the sun a lot (if I try doing this nowadays I'll turn to ashes lol)

Kenichi only started to get a personality once I reworked him like I year ago. He was very different, but things that are still the same is that he has black hair and he smokes (also knows how to use a gun). He started as a comedic relief character, but as time went by I hugged the idea of him being morally grey, yet funny, but always with a card in his sleeve, wishing nothing but the best for the world (he's literally chaotic good rn). The scar on his eye was originally present as a "future self" thing, like, he'd get it during Valerie's fan season, but I liked the idea so I made it part of him from the start of the story.

Nessa was created randomly when I was 12 because I wanted to give Valerie some drama that wasn't "her parents are dead" kind of drama, so I thought adding a surprise twin sister would be nice. Well it wasn't, and I knew that, so I killed Nessa off and she became a vangeful spirit only Valerie could see. When I decided to rework Valerie, I revisited Vanessa's concept, whose personality seemed to never be right. Having recently watched C09 gameplays and Scott Pilgrim movies (plus reading the comics) I thought mixing Jecka and Julie Powers with a character from Teen Monica's Gang (Denise) would be funny. I did this because Nessa's personality would always end up as "too shy to live" or "too superficial to be interesting", so I gave her this "she's an asshole" kind of personality, except it's just because she's harsh and likes to take care of others, so her harshness is because of her wish to see others doing well. Like she has redeemable qualities that's what I mean ldhdkdjfi

Ninjago character ethnicities headcanons

Kai and Nya

due to many headcanons I've seen through the years I've been in this fandom, I grew very fond of the headcanon of them being Hawaiians (since Kai's name is also a Hawaiian name), but I also really enjoy the idea that they might be Chinese (Nya used to wear a qipao inspired outfit in s1-2). So, Hawaiian Chinese!

Lloyd

Despite being blond, I believe he's half Chinese half Japanese. The reason for that is that Misako has a Japanese name (but an English last name) and, well, his uncle has a Chinese name. That's it. Chinese japanese

Zane

Okay, he's a robot, but mimics a human nonetheless. I like to imagine that Zane is based on some relative (maybe a son) Dr.Julien lost. To me, Zane's father was french with Slavic or Nordic roots, so Zane probably looks like these groups of people mixed in one.

Jay

Half Korean, half European. I like the idea that his mother was already half Korean, and I headcannon Cliff Gordon to be Korean, or at least have Korean ancestry/heritage (not so sure about what word to use here). Unlike some people, I don't like using Jay being ginger as an explanation for him being half korean, because ginger hair is a mutation, it can happen in any group. But anyway, since Jay wasn't raised by his bio parents, I'm including Ed and Edna here, and I believe that they could be Latinos. I also don't have an specific country.

Cole

Hear me out: afro-hindi-brazilian. I have no reason for the Brazilian part besides me being Brazilian and an actors AU I saw that made Cole brazilian. And I LOVE it, so here. I think this would be from his father's side, who I also headcanon to be black, but Lily could be Hindi.

Pixal

I always thought she could have mixed characteristics, so, if she was in some human skin as Zane sometimes is, you wouldn't be able to identify just by looking. And when asked she also wouldn't be able to respond.

I follow the same logic in my 90s au, however, I headcanon her as albino!

Skylor

Very much obviously Chinese, there's not much to discuss here. Like I said, ginger hair is a genetic mutation, but she could be dying it red too. She's one of the few characters I don't envision being mixed.

Morro

Japanese. No reason for that despite him and Taigen from Blue Eye Samurai being SO similar (appearance wise).

Harumi

Also japanese (and also albino). No other reason besides her name.

Vania

I really don't know, specially since Shintaro is a confusing place. She wears an outfit that reminds me a lot o hanfu (chinese traditional wear), but her name is russian and Shintaro is a very japanese inspired name. so maybe russian-japanese? or russian-chinese? or the three together?

Cole and Vania met when she visited Ninjago for holidays with her dad. After that, they wanted to keep in touch so they became penpals. Vania was already friends with Geo and thought he and Cole had much alike so she arranged for them to exchange letters too, so they're all penpals!

Cole and Geo are both art nerds, however Cole's focused on painting and drawing (and a bit of music studies) while Geo focuses on sculptures

Cole would definitely introduce Geo and Nessa (oc) so they'd become the art trio

Both Zane and Pixal have younger siblings, Pixal has Cryptor and Zane has Echo.

Echo and Cryptor are the same age (14-15) and attend the same school, plus they're classmates.

Cryptor is the "edgy humour" kid with punk style but no punk beliefs (Kai and Valerie (oc) cringe by the sight of him). He's the edgy kid, actually.

Pixal is aware her brother is an annoying brat and she's the only one he listens and obey (ofc besides Cyrus)

Morro's always hanging out at Lloyd's house after college because he has nothing to do most the time

he likes messing with Lloyd for the funsies despite already being an "adult" (he's just 19 bruh, let him joke around)

Lloyd and Valerie (oc) tend to do sleepover at each other's houses, but they literally just watch films and talk (however Valerie's mum is very suspicious of them so she makes Lloyd sleep on the couch, while Valerie sleeps in her room)

Nya can skateboard, Kai can not. Kai can drive, Nya CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT

Nya is a terrible driver, that's what I mean. Seriously terrible. Like, so bad she hit the car in all her attempts to get a license (the joke is: she's good at everything! Trust her with anything! Just don't give her your car keys)

Lloyd has met Valerie's (oc) family, and one of her younger siblings is super attached to him, so whenever he comes over, the kid is there, begging for attention

Like mentioned in part one, Nya does beads bracelets. She definitely has made tons of those for her friends, Kai, Lloyd and Jay are the ones that wear it the most (Nessa keeps hers for especial occasions because she fears it will break if she uses it too much)

Pixal is the only one Cryptor respects, not because she's his older sister or something like this, it's because she can get scary when annoyed

Vania wears this star shaped necklace that was actually given to her as a gift by Geo (he also made it)

Nya, Kai, Valerie and Nessa are childhood friends and neighbours and are only introduced to the main group through them (and Lloyd)

When it comes to "we are gonna do dumb things but we still need an adult around" they run to Valerie's older brother Kenichi, who's just there to guarantee no one dies. If you break a bone or two, he's either saying "that's a sign you're living your life" or "better than dead", and it's not because he doesn't care, he's just a chill guy. but he does take you to a hospital

Valerie is the one that takes most of the pictures (it's either her or Nya and Lloyd). She has a wall full of photos of their hangouts (and posters). Nya is more organised and leaves her favorite photos near her bed (also on the wall). But Lloyd keeps all of his in a huge album (with dates).

Kai and Lloyd sometimes bring their guitars to school and play during lunch. They do attract attention but don't care. However, whoever's with them (mostly Nya) does get annoyed by the people gathering on their table to watch them play (my girl just wants to eat in peace)

Their principal has already given up on telling them to stop too

Sometimes they eat out, sometimes they skip school and meet Val, Nessa and Pixal (who, again, go to a different school) and go to the theater watch whatever is on instead of eating

Lloyd, Jay, Nessa and Kenichi really thought the world would end in the year 2000. Their partners had to deal with the bullshit for sometime. They'd definitely believe the 2012 world ending thing too (except Lloyd would be more cynical this time while Nessa wouldn't believe at all, instead Kai would)

Jay and Lloyd are the prank duo, when april fool's come, not even their girlfriends are safe

As things start getting better (pls read the stuff in the designs post) among Lloyd and Harumi, they become the "cursing at each other"kind of friends. "Yeah, you're ugly, dunno how you pulled a girlfriend, but only I can say this to you" yk.

Morro jokes about Harumi on her face a lot too, despite not hanging around with her that much

Harumi and Nessa have matching rings when they date (Nessa has a fake pink diamond one and Harumi a fake deep purple diamond one)
