AN: who's the Coffee manager? Well this gal right here!

I call her Jennifer after Jenny X9 from My life as a Teenage Robot, but I theorize she may be Pixals Predecessor, the 15th P.I.X.A.L. Her color scheme is way to close for me along with her personality haha her and Pixal are both very competitive and full of sass along with being protective of their respective interests.

Back when Diisdoodles and I were on speaking terms, they came up with the ship name, which I still absolutely love, so I will still use as I revive this pairing.

Skylor noticed when a Nindroid moved into the abandoned shop just down the block from her, she decided to leave the other alone. Especially if they were planning on opening a business, the Nindroid would be plenty busy rebuilding the place

Then of all people, Doctor Cyrus Borg showed up at her restaurant covered in grease and dust a mask around his neck and the Nindroid beside him, the pair laughing at something as they entered. The Nindroid was pretty with medium gray hair tied back, even with paint splattered throughout and even on her facial plates

"Welcome to Master Chens Noodle House." She found herself tumbling into her usual spiel they both smiled as they waved going to a booth as she decided to go on over

The pair had already a few things from the belt, their heads turning at her intrusion,

"Sorry Mr Borg don't mean to intrude, but I noticed thus one moving down into the old Store down the road. Curiosity got me and wished to meet my new neighbor,"

He gave her a grin,

"Oh, that's perfectly fine to me! It makes me happy that she's being welcomed so warmly."

The Nindroid nodded a soft smile on her face,

"It makes me happy as well," she agreed before holding hr hand out I am Jennifer, the 15th P.I.X.A.L."

Skylor accepted it, smiling back,

"Nice to meet you, I'm Skylor Chen. May I call you Jenny?"

"Of course it is what those close to me call me, and I have a feeling we are going to be close. I have big hopes to restart this district, make this place a hub of good food and entertainment."

Skylor beamed Jennifer, returning the same smile

"I love to hear that! You and I share the same ideal, if I may put a bug in your ear the place you are renovating used to be the local bakery,"

Cyrus gave a playful look as he took a bite of his bowl of noodles, Jennifer responding

"Then it's a good thing it's being turned into a cafe,"

"That makes me happy to hear. The local college kids will swarm it so I'd have a nook for them to tuck themselves in. " She motioned to her restaurants own a giant booth filled with young adults"Well I will leave you both to eat I would say it's on the house but knowing Mr Borg he'd slip a 100$ into the tip jar like last time"

She heard Jenny laugh as her fathers face went red as the woman went back to the kitchen

Skylor began seeing more of the Nindroid around sometimes with others she theorized were other family members, they began sitting down on the days Jennifer was on her own and the Noodle House was in a lull

it truly is amazing to think that shows, by telling their story and giving hearts and souls to characters, by having people lend their voices to these characters, can change real lives. For me, I take a step back and look at Ninjago- little lego ninjas meant to sell toys. And yet, each character has a life well beyond what was expected. Each voice actor gave a part of their heart and soul to each character, giving them their own spirit. I can’t imagine Kai without Vincent, Jay without Michael, Cole without Kirby or Andrew, Zane without Brent, Lloyd without Jillian or Sam, Nya without Kelly, Pixal without Jennifer. I think about the bond that the characters created within the show, but also the VAs amongst themselves. That one little show has created thousands upon thousands of art, stories, musical scores, cosplays, sculptures. That one little show, with six little ninjas and a samurai, uplifted so many lives, including my own. One little show brought so many people together, kept people alive, inspired so many. I look at every original character and I cant help but smile. You were inspired to create your own person, spun a life for them, created them out of nothing. We are creators, we are meant to love. It truly is amazing to think about that.

It's always so interesting to me to see the fandoms I'm hyperfixating on and compare the fandoms with ocs vs the fandoms with no ocs (that I've made).

Like Amnesia for example, the fandom I have 40+ OCs in and have been in for over 10 years now. I spent a year of that time focused on just the characters that I had to work with before eventually being like "MM, yeah, no I need more spice." And made Derpy (I'm so sorry your name has aged so poorly my guy), Phantom, and Linard. 2/3 of those OCs were made to build off of pre-existing characters. (Derpy to build off of Piggeh and his development, and Phantom to build off of Skully + Stephano's (Yes both, it gets complicated if I say why). Linard post 2015 kind of accidentally became that with Torchy because when I first made Linard, they weren't brothers.)

And even then, I still focused a lot on those connecting characters (Stephano, Piggeh (who got abandoned and sidelined for Skully and Torchy whoops), Skully, Torchy, and Teddeh were characters I focused heavily on partially DUE to said connections). And then I finally realized after working on Jordyn and trying to flesh out the Barrel Army which I had completely entirely neglected minus Derpy, Axel, and Iris (+ Riku and his kids) pre2018, I was neglecting the main characters again. So I went back to them (they still weren't my main focus rip </3) and began working again on characters I hadn't given much development to.

Like god damn I hated Jennifer so much from 2013 to 2021ish because I couldn't find a way to make myself like her or write her character in a way that didn't make me hate her. WHICH IS WEIRD CONSIDERING THE PARALELL OF SHITTY THINGS HER AND TORCHY DID, BUT MAN DID I LOVE TORCHY BECAUSE HE WAS MENTALLY OFF HIS ROCKER (and so was I) So yknow what I did? I gave her a lesbian arc. She's not into men! She was confused and projecting! She likes WOMEN DAMMIT! Her and Pipe are girlfriends now and I adore her! She cut her hair! She stopped wearing skirts and traded them for overalls! She uses brass knuckles to punch dicks in their jaw! AS SHE SHOULD!

Then compare to the two other main fandoms I'm in - Ace Attorney and Ninjago - of which I have ZERO OCs for. I don't even count the fanseason villain (Ninjago resdemption au, somewhere between season 7 and 8) as an OC because I haven't fucking done any work on him yet. I just know what his main motive is and how it plays into the preexisting character's lives. Literally with both Ace Attorney and Ninjago I'm more focused on the preexisting characters and their relationships WITH EACH OTHER.

Like I want to explore the parallels between Kai and Morro, I want to explore Lloyd's trauma, I want to explore Kai and Nya and Lloyd's relationship with each other, I want Kai to be mad Lloyd was forced to grow up so fast. I want him to be mad he had to be a parent to Nya. I want him to fuck Acronix's and Krux's shit up. I want ZANE to explore VENGENACE on VEX "Tris he's not vengeful!" I WANT ZANE TO MAKE VEX BITE THE CURB IN 4K!!! HE'S AN ICE NINJA FOR A REASON AND I FEEL LIKE MAKING ZANE MAD EVERY NOW AND THEN WOULD GIVE HIM MUCH MORE NEEDED DEPTH TO HIS CHARACTER! we have firey temper with Kai but we need some cold and calculated (AND JUSTIFIED) anger for Zane because THAT WOULD BE TERRIFYING!

And with Ace Attorney it's the same! I want so badly to explore certain characters relationships and parallels with each other because OOOOOUGH... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

My partner told me in early winter (we weren't dating then) when I had just fallen deep into my Morro hyperfixation/kin that we should make Ninjago ocs together and I could feel every part of me protest because I don't need ocs for certain fandoms. If the characters have the depth they need, sometimes it's better to just explore them instead of making new ocs. Like fuck with Sora and Arin, I definitely don't feel like we need any more (main) Ninjago characters. So I don't need to be making any. Honestly, some of my beef with DR is the oversaturation of new characters we've gotten instead of exploring some old relationships and old character dynamics (Which I know we will be getting more of come august).

Anyways TLDR: Sometimes fandoms don't need ocs (from me), sometimes the characters just need to be explored in more meaningful ways. Other times I spend 10 years hyperfixating on something and make 40+ OCs.

Ninjago Rarepair Week 2023

Day 3: Sickness

A/N: Skylor X The Nindroid Manager from the Sensei Wus Teas shorts if you don't recognize her

That's Jennifer, she never had an official name so I gave her the name Jennifer after Jenny X9 from My Life as a Teenage Robot

After the merge they decided to carry on with this theme of everybody merging together so Jennifer closed down her Cafe and moved it to be neighboring with Skylor's Noodle House you ever see those weird restaurants that have like an A&W on one side and the KFC on the other pretty much works the same way.

Can get your Noodles and Coffee under one roof.

Skylor didn't like asking for people's help let alone her own who was busy running her Cafe but as she tossed whatever she had left in her stomach, she realized she really didn't have a choice

Fortunately post merge their businesses were conjoined, the Cafe on one side and her noodle house on the other

Reaching out with a very shaky hand she managed to snatch her cell phone from where it had fallen sending a quick message to Jennifer

"Hey do you think the robot manager can handle both establishments for a few days?"

The reply was almost instantaneous,

"Of course I can, let me guess you caught that bug flying around,"

She simply answered with a yep and again the response was almost instantaneous

"Okay, do you need anything my little shifter?"

She thought on it for a moment some ginger tea actually sounded pretty good from her girlfriend's Cafe

"Could you bring that ginger tea you make when you have a moment, it sounds so good"

"Of course I'll let the staff know, you just rest"

The red-headed woman smiled before another wave of nausea slammed into her, whether through stubbornness or not wanting to leave a mess for her girlfriend she placed a trash can by the side of the bed her body instantly sinking into the sheets, she let out a sigh of relief almost instantaneously falling asleep,

She only woke a few times at her stomach's upset, but the fourth time she woke up, it was to a gentle hand on her forehead, Amber eyes opening to see her girlfriend's sister Harriet a local nurse taking her vitals, Jennifer carefully sat on the bed,

"Yeah Skylor just has the stomach flu. Fever is at 100, which isnt bad, just keep an eye on it." She said in a low voice, which Skylor was grateful for, especially as her senses now were fogged, everything felt overly sensitive

A very gentle hand rested on her leg

"Hey bug, I asked my sister to come with me to make sure everything was a okay. She's got the medical degree,"

The other smiled at Jennifer,

"It is understandable, thank you Harriet," She barley managed to whisper before nausea bubbled up, Harriet with practiced expertise had the bucket in hand in front of her Jennifer carefully rubbing her partners back,

After a moment Skylar laid back as her girlfriend re-tucked her in, Harriet fluidly tying the bag up tossing it and placing a new one in the bucket washing her hands in the bathroom finally she tossed her purse over one shoulder

" I'm going to be heading back to the hospital just call me if you need anything more."

The other quickly left the space Jennifer set something on the nightstand that smelled actually good but it did make Skyler's stomach twist a bit

"The ginger healing tea you requested my little amber bug"

"Help me?" The other croaked Jennifer smiling softly as she silently helped the other sit up and gently take a sip

Skylor hummed as it soothed her throat, the nausea in her stomach settling as Jenny laid her back down, she felt a kiss being placed to her forehead

"I got to get back to work sweetheart your brother said he would take over a while I'm gone but knowing him,"

Skylor let out a soft laugh weakly, motioning for the other to go,

"Go on, before he burns the place down, "

Jennifer chuckled as well before walking out

For the ask thing Zane/Pixel?

I would DIE for this ship! 💕 💕

What made you ship it?: The fact that they are both robots. Hear Me Out!!! Now you probably know by this point that I love robots, but that's not completely the point. They are both one of the ONLY robots. The only androids that exist in their world. They both constantly feel ostracized and alone among it's people. No matter how wonderful the ninja team is, the team members just don't quite understand what that must be like. And I'm sure Zane and Pixal are very aware of this. Their romantic relationship is the opportunity for them to TRULY feel not alone. They have someone who loves them (arguably more then life itself) and understands exactly what they have to go through in this world of flesh, not metal. (You can especially see this in Crystalized when Pixal talks about how she doesn't know if there will be an afterlife for them after they die. Ninjago lore tells us that people have an afterlife. What does that mean for them? Where do they belong? I tell you where! With each other!)

What are your favorite things about the ship?: You can tell that those two love each other. They way their faces light up when the other walks in the room. The way they work together. The desperate measures they go through to protect each other. The amount of pain they endure when the other is hurt. the relief and joy that usually come when they are reunited. It's all so wholesome and everything I hope to have in a relationship. Their expressions. Their voices?!?!?! Brent Miller and Jennifer Hayward know exactly how to do their jobs.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?: I'm not sure I have any. I wish they had more screentime and less at the same time. Each season doesn't seem to know if they should put these two in the spotlight, or in the background. I love them too much to constantly see them in this weird in between place. Either commit, or don't.

Volleyball: I've played as Libero, Setter (for a day or two) (pls, don't mention, almost my only trig.), Outside Hitter, Middle, and Rightside Hitter. It's my favorite sport and I'm really good at serving.

Music: I love most music genres, ranging from pop to country to rap to rock. Current music obsession is 5sos. Ash is my favorite. Fav. member of 1D is Niall. Roadtrip TV: Rye. I used to play trombone, I've played recorder, and I've tried to learn guitar and piano. I love singing, I'm not too bad, and I've been doing it since I was a little girl.

Art: Any art catches my fancy, other than n@k3ds. I like to paint, do DIYs, and draw. I'm not too bad, but could def. do better. My favorite genre of art is landscape. I can't draw: eyes, mouths, ears, noses, faces, or random hairs. Hands are ok-ish.

Writing: I write on Quotev as @AwesomeQuizzed (and @AwesomeQuizzed2 and @AwesomeQuizzed3), on 3 accounts. I write poems, stories, short stories, fanfiction, and fantasy. I am a grammar freak, but I can control it.

Movies: My favorite cartoon or whatever is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and I haven't seen the other stuff surrounding that movie (I don't wanna). I love The Fast and The Furious series, as well as the Star Wars series (except the last few movies), Harry Potter (haven't read the books), Narnia (again, haven't read the books), and LoTR/Hobbit series.

Shows: My shows include Supernatural, Arrow (not finished), Lego Ninjago (not finished), Charmed (older one), The Good Doctor, House, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, ER, OUAT, and Castle (I'm like Richard Castle).

Books: I have read a lot, especially in 7th grade. One of my favorite books is Green Angel by Alice Hoffman. One of my favorite series is FableHaven/DragonWatch by Brandon Mull. I also love the Riordanverse, Zodiac series (by Romina Russell), The Naturals (by Jennifer Lynn Barnes) (*I haven't gotten to read the last book: Twelve*), Eragon (by Christopher Paolini) (*haven't read Murtagh's book yet*), The Blackwell Pages (by K.L. Armstrong), Hush, Hush (by Becca Fitzpatrick), etc.

Extra (Non-categorical): I also love the Batfamily, the DCU, and Marvel. Shel Silverstein is my favorite poem writer.
