this is my baby rivyr, they are a cat/goat yokai that i made as an oc for rottmnt

theyre one of the battle nexus champions, they come off as cold and unemotional to strangers but they're actually very in tune with their emotions and those around them, they're very creative and want to be known as an artist instead of a fighter

i usually pare them with donnie but i know you got a LOT of people requesting their oc to be with donnie so feel free to pair them with who ever you like :)

also i seriously need to redesign them but i have no idea what to do so feel free to change their design how ever you see fit

Genuinely very funny to me that it took almost 50,000 words into writing this monster of a fanfic before I even made an actual promo/cover art for Radiant Souls. But I'm pretty proud of it!

Why I do think Shoyo being Brazilian was one of the best decisions in haikyuu!! (and why it makes a lot of sense) ~ a manga analysis 🌄

Before starting, it's important to remember that Furudate-sensei already commented in an official interview that they planned the Brazil + v.league arcs from the beginning, and beach volleyball thriving here was a fundamental reason for this plan to come to fruition beautifully.

I separated this analysis into four main points showing the reasons why I think a timeskip with a Brazil arc was (perhaps) the best decision for the manga. So without further ado, let's get started:

1. Sports.

Rio de Janeiro’s beaches are famous for having volleyball circuits and many people interested in playing, as the sport is very popular here. Brazil is also a powerful house and has a fenomenal history in indoor volleyball and other sports, such as football and judo.

The athletes are deeply loved by the population, bestowed with stars in their eyes when they achieve their dreams, yet another reason for a rising player like Shoyo to be training here, growing and glowing alongside those who share the same passion as his 🧡

2. Food

One of Shoyo’s most detailed meals in Brazil is the one he eats with Oikawa at a restaurant. It's a typical Brazilian dish, with rice (probably beans), some type of meat and LOTS of vegetables. Brazilians’ daily meals are often homecooked with fresh, natural ingredients.

As an athlete who studies about food a lot and prepares his own meals, Shoyo developed healthy eating habits, always caring about what he eats as he prepares good, rich food. At his house, the dishes are full of affection and care, made as a proof of love for himself.

Fun fact: dishes made with rice, beans, salad and meat are the famous “PF” here in Brazil (PF = prato feito, which can mean ‘made dish’) as it is literally a dish made and served in a single plate with all the proteins and nutrients needed in a healthy routine.

3. Weather

Furudate-sensei’s special report in Brazil shows how Kageyama’s shirt dries quickly after getting wet in the rain. There’s no doubt that the Brazilian sun is intense, reaching up to 35° on normal days, but to grow up on the beach, Shoyo had to face this harsh weather.

Brazil is too hot, yes, but it is, in a way, perfect for him.

It's perfect for Shoyo because he's the sun reincarnated and deserves to be on the beach. Not only does he gets stronger, but also a boost of energy every time he wakes up with the sunrise. He loves playing that warm weather mixed with sea air and learning from scratch

4. People

Brazilian culture is known for being lively, colorful and inviting. As a young Japanese man in Brazil, Shoyo is polite and reverent, respecting other’s spaces and working to support himself here. The new connections he'd made allowed him to build happier, better days.

The language barrier was extremely difficult for Shoyo at first, but as soon as he broke through it, he could see yet another view from the top as beautiful as the ones he’d seen for years.

The people here can be touchy and warm, they speak with their hands and gestures, they show love with attitudes and welcome Shoyo with open warm arms.

Ninja Shoyo is only Ninja Shoyo because he is Brazilian. Ninja Shoyo only exists because we called him by his first name from the beginning with a tone of admiration and respect, with a voice that screams love.

He is a ninja who suddenly appeared in our lives and left everything brighter than the sun. Brazilians loved being able to see Shoyo’s shell open until revealing the beautiful pearl that would become his future.

Shoyo’s Brazilian friends have always believed in his strength and helped him go far. When he goes back to Japan, it's not a goodbye. After all, he's carrying huge cultural baggage that shapes him into a wonderful being, an eternal Brazilian who was born to shine on this land 🧡
