AU where Yi became one of eigong's experiments and ended up being thrown off a cliff in an attempt to get rid of him and the evidence of the mutated variant and he woke up one day as if nothing happened and went to overthrow the nine sols unaware of his condition and what has been happening around him.

aka AU where yi traumatizes everyone and including himself uhh this was an old au i came up with when i finished the game a month ago didn't really shared it since i haven't fleshed it out and it might now make sense lmao but since its halloween (almost halloween) thought i should share mutated yi au yay also uhh in this AU he pretty much infects everyone with the virus he's been carrying but he's not aware of that, he just thought he's saving the peach blossom village and defeating the nine sols in his head when in reality...

What does lady e look like in metamorphosis au? I thought of like a cool very infected butterfly lady e…. Or smthn..

i haven't gotten far into the writing about lady ethereal's part yet but..i've had ideas of a cracked dreamscape, showing both dream and nightmare at the same time. tf did Yi do anyway in the dreamscape yi's form looks pretty normal!! just like how he 'sees' himself. but just as he was trapped here with no way out, he would eventually experience self-discovery. but not quite.

this is such a bad demonstration on what i have on mind???sorry sobs😭i have no idea how to draw what i picture on mind but yeah here are my ideas so far,might most likely change !! oh and technically the nightmare side is what Yi actually looks in the dreamscape, he doesn't have those pink goop on him instead he's got pepto bismol eyes

I want to know how the mutated tianhuo affects yi's combat capabilities

mutated Yi has weird long claws for combat, i think his fighting style would be the same but more, messier? in a way? a lot faster and hits harder but can get pretty sluggish and clumsy with his movements like a parasite just learning how to move a rotting corpse. edit: he doesn't have the azure bow here so he's got the claws to compensate for that also jiequan probably approves the little freak, probably, maybe at first until Yi attacks him

this is a really old doodle i wished to not see how i used to draw jiequan/silly

also showing another old doodle and to show you his weird mutated arm, bros arm built diff fr also Jiequan would be delighted and thrilled to mess around with how he could test the mutations Yi has and especially how far it could go, he can regenerate right? how far will he able to test that limit until he no longer is able to regenerate?

is infected yi ever able to perceive his sickness at all or is it like a fucked up brain kinda thing where the brain tricks itself

it's a fucked up brain thing! he never perceived his sickness like at all in majority of the story until the very end which is, very too late for yi now since at that point the virus has fully consumed him and becomes part of the hivemind the last moment everything clicks for him

AND GLADLY!! >:D the AU isn't fully done yet and there may be some stuff that still needed to be worked on! but here's the current summary of the metamorphosis AU : Yi had already contracted the sickness during the council meeting when he proposed the Eternal Cauldron Project although he decided to dismiss his own symptoms altogether when Eigong convinces him to attend the meeting and share to the other members about his plan

everything else are pretty much the same in canon except Yi's health had been declining fast during the project's completion, which made Heng worry about her brother and tries to convince him to get some rest but he's got his priorities straight and ignores her pleas. he still tried persuading Heng to board new Kunlun with him and the same events would still play out between the siblings. before the departure Yi had tried everything to cure his 'fever' but to no avail, just as he was about to reach out to Eigong about his health he soon discovers her secret of being the culprit for spreading the virus, feeling betrayed by this he went over to confront her but before he could take action the sickness had taken a toll on him at that point, causing his body to collapse in front of her. Eigong promised to help him with an antidote she'd been working on before he fully loses consciousness. shortly enough during the procedure the experiment turned out to be another critical failure.

turns out Yi ended up being another victim to the other mutant variants, no matter how many times Eigong tried to change and fix the genomes of an infected solarian everything else ends up getting worse and worse and so in an attempt to erase the evidence of her experiments she did the most reasonable act to do so: throwing him off of a cliff. ofcourse thats enough to convince her that he died from that fall. but she sure made a mistake ever since he fell from that cliff because that is NOT enough to actually kill him. oops what you look at that, the mutation causes him to regenerate! and not the fusang roots this time!(Still took like 500 years though)

heres a twist though, Yi wasn't all aware of the surroundings or even to his own state of him being infected. he thinks that everything seemed to be pretty normal but only in his perspective. he falls off a cliff and saved by the fusang roots and found himself face to face with a young apeman. shuanshuan wasn't all that alarmed to see his weird mutated state, infact he wasn't aware about all that virus stuff to begin with. Yi appeared to be a lot more docile around him though. annd thats pretty much the beginning of the AU! not the FULL summary yet bc that might take me 489773798 years to post this but i will make a master post about all the events soon ^^ and to add more into the au as well, yes Yi thought that what he's doing is right in the entire au when in reality he's just out there spreading the virus and infecting the council members too. yikes also sorry for the silly doodles its very late on where i am rn and i need some good eep 💀 i hope you enjoyed reading this though!still feel free to send me any questions!
