Hey hey, is there anyone here that watched the fixed camera during the last online meet and greet? We became really close… I’m so glad.

I’m a shy person and recently I’ve finally had a moment where I was like I can finally bring out my true 5th generation (it usually takes me roughly two years to become friends with someone when I get put in a new environment so this is a big step for me), but even still I need a lot of courage to talk to the senior members.

This is aimed at the current generations but isn’t the way you get close to people kind of yikes? I don’t really understand the young kids (heavy sweating)

Is how I feel, but I can’t be thinking that way! Speaking directly is a no go but if I put it in writing I can say it! Is what I thought…is how Ikeda feels when trying to convey and put those feelings of wanting to become closer in a letter or email.

I was thought I was going to die from overdosing on happiness.

Before I joined Nogizaka there wasn’t anybody that would tell me they loved me, right after I joined I was able to meet many fans, the senior members that I looked up to, and was able to get close to them…This is such an amazing environment.

Even when she’s at work Nao spends a lot of time with me, especially when I appeared as a guest on “Chinmoku no Kinyoubi”. It was a lot of fun and I was able to understand how amazing radio work was because of that experience.

I hope that we can become closer…(I’m just gonna write this here)

If it’s written down then I have no choice but to follow through!

Around this time last year I wonder what I was doing, is what I thought while scrolling through my photo album and I found this two shot of Yamashita-san and Kaki-san in Santa outfits that I saved. I liked it and so I saved it and I was like me from a year ago I get it!! (⸝⸝ ◜~◝⸝⸝)

I really like the relationship that the two of them have.

This is just my personal opinion but “Suki to iunoha rokku daze!” and “Boku ha Boku wo suki ni naru” I believe are answer songs🤟🏻⚡︎

“I” who has come to recognize who I am is able to seek love from other, I find that amazing! There are probably a lot of people who were given the power to overcome an obstacle thanks to Nogizaka so many people have probably experienced this.

I still don’t have the bravery to say “I won’t regret you” but…I want people who come to see me think that they’re glad I’m here

The game first released over 3 years ago! Three years ago I wasn’t a member and so it feels really weird to be able to stand here but hearing all my fans that play it say ‘I made Ikeda my Oshimen’ or ‘I love you in this song’ they all my me feel really happy 😭🫶🏻

So I guess there are (already) feelings of ‘I’m finally able to meet you’

Once I got on that stage I was shocked by how close we were to everyone ‎( ⊙⊙)!!

I think the last time that I was able to see everyone’s faces so clearly was probably at TIF? I looked carefully at everyone and I spotted some people in the crowd who I meet regularly at my meet and greet

I also spotted all the people with my towels and pen light colors!!!!

During the event I tried the game Concentration. After getting on that stage my mind went completely blank…and I’m supposed to be good at this game ( -᷅"-᷄ )

But the 5th generation member team hung in there and as a result both the senior members and us got the same percentage, 😭😭😭I’m so glad

I’m glad that the people that were there are people that usually play a lot of games. I hope that there will be another real event one day, I’m looking forward to it.

From here on, even in games, (as well as here in the real world) you will continue to look after me (o🪄'▽')o🪄(o🪄'▽')o🪄

There was an individual online meet and greet on January the 22nd…ヽ( ´_つ｀)ノ

I’ve been doing individual and national meet and greet for three weeks in a row and today I felt lost cause I couldn’t speak with anyone this week

Everyone do you feel the same way?

This year is the year of the rabbit so the 20 year old me will be in here “Nogizaka bouncing age” but apparently in some countries it isn’t the year of the rabbit but the year of the cat… 👀.′.′

So I wonder if I’ll be in meow year of meowing? 🐾

And so that’s why I made cat ears, it was also from the 22nd second which is ‘nyan nyan’ day, it was meawy fun ^_ ̫ _ ^ ̳

At the meet and greet there are many people that tell me why they started liking me, there are a lot of people that know me from Nogizaka Under Construction as well as New Nogizaka Star Tanjou. That’s why I’ve come to like working on TV, although it’s not something I’m not even close to being good at…🥹

Recently I went on the 1st generation member, Nakada Kana’s, tv show ‘Top me Toreru Kana?” 🀄🤍

The words ‘No game has more depth than mahjong” really stuck with me. The rules are really complicated, and I’m still learning so it’s not that I’m tripping up by more that I’m making a fool of myself…but I really want to learn them! Isn’t being able to play mahjong cool? One day I want to make a comeback as a master, I’m going to do my best.

Originally Nogizaka Under Construction was the reason that I fell in love with Nogizaka, I remember struggling with the channels so I could watch it every week ( ´⚰︎` )

Being given the precious opportunity to work alongside the senior members and Bananaman on that show that I dreamed to be on is something extremely rare so I’m going to work hard to be able to appear on it even more 💪🏽( ¨̮ 💪🏽)🤍

New Nogizaka Star Tanjou! was the first tv show that I appeared in. I’m not good at singing or dancing, but watching all the performances every time made me look forward to the recording.

I’m honestly scared to perform in front of everyone, and I thought it was something that I couldn’t do, so I’m going to work hard to make me feel like I’ve really come to love doing it! Are the positive feelings I now have. We were also able to perform on the New Nogizaka Star Tanjou! Live stage… I feel like this year the 5th generation members have really grown.

Nante Bi Da! Is this wonderful program that I have become a regular of, I really want to be able to absorb what I learned from one place and be able to use it in another.

For the 11th YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE that will be held in February, the final day, February 26th, will be Akimoto Manatsu-san’s Graduation Concert.

The merchandise is really cute, and so from now on in order to feel Manatsu-san I’ll wear the goods.

I wanted to believe that Manatsu-san’s graduation wouldn’t come even though I thought it would be soon but when Akimoto-san told us my heart just froze.

At the beginning of January when I met Akimoto-san for the first time I hadn’t yet debuted and they kindly got close to me and said that I’m in the same position as you, and said that if they could help with anything to come ask them for help. That’s the moment when I felt how warm this group was.

During the 10th birthday live right around the time I joined and we started practicing alongside the senior members, I got given a lot of harsh words, but also was given a lot of kind words. I received a lot of strength for our captain Akimoto-san.

I can’t express how grateful I am.

I’m so glad that Akimoto-san was able to be our captain.

The ‘zukkyun’ she always gives shots through my heart

Recently at the Nogifes Kanshasai Manatsu-san said “please give me a catch phrase” but I’ve always loved the smile she gave when she smiled she sang “onna no ko ha manatsu ni koishite sotsugyo shiteiku” in girls rule… I can’t think of anything better than that.

Everytime girls rule is performed, I’ll remember the Manatsu-san from the Midsummer National Tour.

It’s hard to believe that all the memories that I made along side Manatsu-san as a member of nogizaka46 this summer was a one time only thing.

Thus summer as well and the summer after that, I want to meet her at Jingu

Manatsu-san as well as everyone else…

Dec 29th: okay, this one’s technically not “good” but it’s so so funny. Early morning, my mom calls me over to her room going “Niku, a possum died in the road, a possum died in the road.” I go in, look through her window, and say “possums aren’t bright orange like that.” “At first I thought it was a squirrel but it’s a possum.” That’s a squirrel.” “No it’s not, look at the head shape.” So we go down, she opens the front door, I look at the roadkill— that’s a squirrel. She still doesn’t believe me so I walk into the road and get a good look at its face— undeniably a squirrel.

The thing about this is my mom’s very sensitive towards animals (she’s been a vegetarian since the 90s and is a former fan of those militant overdone animal rights groups), she’s been watching the squirrels in our yard and giving them names (Dolly Parton and Lil Nas X), and the window in her room is directly above her desk. So while she’s doing her work on her laptop, she has to see this dead squirrel in the road and wonder if its one of hers.

Then the vultures come. She calls me over again, I go, and above her laptop there is a vulture tossing this poor dead squirrel around. Two crows sit and watch, a few more vultures circle the air. She’s been talking about seing hawks over the house for the past week and, looking at this vulture-led game of catch, she tells me she was wrong, it was vultures. All those birds were vultures.

Obviously at this point I lose it laughing. It’s just such specifically bad luck. I laugh every time I remember it; the squirrel alone was bad enough but the vultures felt so gratuitous! Good thing is she was watching the yard later and her squirrels were these as per usual; they’re fine.

notes: wow 3rd headcanon and it includes bakugo and kiri again HAHAHA nice, this is the first with tetsutetsu so i hope it’s okay,, i’m not entirely familiar with him sksksks but it was fun writing for his character sksks this was not entirely sneaking in but u taking home more animals u find and not taking no for an answer

u have been living together for quite some time

after u both graduated U.A, u both decided to live together

and katsuki should be used to this by now

it all started a few months ago

u were walking home

and then u see this box

wow

but then you hear mewling sounds

so ofc being the good hero that u are

u look

and there’s this poor kitten inside

so ofc being the cat person that u are

u took it home

without telling katsuki

oh boy

so, u got home and bathed the kitten

it is now named Tsuki

bcuz duh, u’re boyf???

so yea, u were feeding Tsuki

when your Katsuki arrived

and u kinda just stared at each other

with him, darting eyes on the kitten

and then to you

“dumbass, what the heck is that?”

“a kitten, dummy!”

“i know that! why the heck is it here?”

so u pouted and carried Tsuki to him

“mr. bakugo, let me stay here please” 🥺🥺

while u wave the kitten in front of his face

it took all of his will power to not blow up

and there’s this kitten

“tch, why are you suddenly bringing a stray cat home?”

so ofc u explained to him

and he knows u won’t take no for an answer

v stubborn like him

he doesn’t say anything but u know it was okay now!

so u took Tsuki to the vet and yay! this cat is yours!

this happened for 5 more times

each time, katsuki looks done with you

but then u see him cuddling with them

they’re named Tsuki, Soba, Tofu, Baku, Zero, and Izu (who was definitely Katsuki’s fave shhh)

and he should have known u’ll bring more

he comes home and greets your cats

n e ways, he was playing with Zero and Izu when he hears the front door

so he looks at u

and u were smiling sheepishly at him

he sighed

“dumbass, did you bring another stray?”

he went towards u bcuz duh, he sees the bundle in your arms

he takes it and is the one to give it a bath

u were just watching him and all your other cats

u smiled, he loves them

he does, he won’t say it but he does

Kirishima Eijiro

okay, first off

when u first lived in with him

he was prepared for a pet

bcuz u have a dog at home u planned to bring into ur new home

it’s a corgi

so cute and fluffy 🥰🥰

but what he wasn’t prepared was this

u were holding a dog, not that big

and u were pouting at him

“eiji, can we keep her?” 🥺🥺

“um- where did you get that?”

“she was tied off to a post and the owner wrote a letter saying she didn’t want her”

the dog was whimpering in your arms

ofc he can’t say no to you or the dog who was looking all sad

so he smiled and offered to take the dog to the vet for a checkup and such

it was now a few months after, and you have two more dogs (other than your corgi and the first one u rescued)

again, eiji is surprised

but he takes them in with u and helps u take care of them

u kno he likes them

he looks like a dog person too!

so yea, u named them and they were Riot, Niku, and Bakuha (the most explosive one)

and they’re so cute!

u love them

eiji loves them

it’s a win!

so when u brought home another one

eiji just takes them with open arms

aww bb

and he’s like 😚😚😚 with them

so cute wow

but this one was different

u found him limping on the side of the street

apparently, his past owner abused the dog

so u didn’t think much more and took him in

the dog has three legs, one of his front legs were cut off

u cried to eiji bcuz u feel so bad for the dog

he just hugs you

“THAT IS NOT MANLY”

he helps in caring for the dog

he loves him already

bcuz who wouldn’t?????

he assures u that animals like Katsu (the one u rescued)

they will never feel abuse again

he ofc reports incidents like these to authorities before he takes them in

he doesn’t want to see u cry

and most of all, he doesn’t want to see animals hurting

so manly this baby boi

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

so,,

u kno he’s like kiri

i mean duh, their quirks HAHAH

but he seems very soft for his classmates

so when u both graduated U.A. and he asked u to live together, ofc u said yes!

he’s babie, u kno

u told him u were coming home one day

and u have a surprise

so naturally, tetsu’s excited

and then he sees you holding a box

“hey love, surprise!”

he peered in and saw three kittens inside

he immediately became 🥺🥺🥺🥺

and took the box from u while u told him how u found them

u saw the owner carrying them and was about to leave them on the side of the streets

so u ran and asked if u can have them

the owner did not hesitate to give them and told u “goodluck”

😥😥😟😟 u and tetsu were like this when u told him

he then noticed one of the kittens

it’s blind

he asked u about it and apparently, it was born blind

tetsu’s very soft for them already

u took them to the vet while tetsu shopped for essentials

the kittens fit right into your home

tetsu’s always offered to help Spinach, Musu, and Steel

yes these are their names

idk y but it sounds cute?? so

yea, now u have 3 kittens, yay!

but that’s not all, a few months later,,,

u rescued another one

but not a cat

a dog

the owner plans to put it up for adoption

:(((

it has a genetic disease which affected its hearing

and it requires more care and attention

the owner was actually sweet but she can’t take care of another more dog

her family is big as it is

so ofc, u asked to take care of it

she was hesitant at first, because again

it needs more care and attention than normal dogs

but u were more than willing to give her that

but before anything else, u went to the vet

she gave u advice about the dog and how to care for it

asking u once more if u want it

and yes u do

after some papers and such

u took home Suku

and u told tetsu the situation

like u

he is more than willing to give love to Suku

it was definitely a challenge

but what’s more love to give?

u both have more to give to animals like Suku and Spinach

At first, I was so adored by Asahi and sugawara. But then Kuroo started hitting diff when i saw some fanart :P Kuroo was basically the first character i was like “DAYUMMM”

quick lil update

so like i feel like it's been a minute since we've just chatted y'know? anyways i hope anybody who reads this is having a great day/night.

i'm gonna br real, i totally thought that once summer break started for me, I'd be posting more often but I feel like i'm posting even less since school ended lol. either way, i'm sorry for taking so long on my 100 follower event stuff and other requests! i'm still working on them all and hopefully will be posting some soon.

anyways here are some other random and unrelated updates about my life these past few months:

i was at an anime convention over the weekend and was freaking out at all the haikyuu cosplayers! they were all so good i'm so impressed ahh!! on top of that i got some really cool haikyuu stickers and i've never been happier. who knew i needed a sticker of them doing the niku niku dance thing lol.

idk how but i'm now finding out that bokuto's birthday is a day after mine. like pls we're meant to be

i've been watching one piece lately and i actually really like it?? honestly surprised bc it didn't seem like something up my ally yet here I am, hoping sanji kicks me one day.

i do not want to go to work tomorrow.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens Episode 12 Sub Release

とんだカッパの川流れ (tonda kappa no kawanagare)

“Even kappas can be washed away by the river.”

I touched on this briefly in the subs with a small TL note, but what Sushiko is trying to say here is that they were careless and only wanted to help, but ended up contributing to Yuuga & co’s plight. She has a tendency to speak in weird sentences or puns (as evidenced by another TL note later in the episode).

お前の後ろだ (omaeno ushiro da)

We had a whole episode on this that I think explained a lot of it, but I want to say that he’s basically trying to tell Kaizo that his name is “Omaeno Ushiro”, but unfortunately it really just sounds like “behind you!”.

偉大なる俺様のターン (idainaru ore-sama no taan)

I translated this as “It’s the Great Me’s turn.”

I wanted to highlight just how highly Roa was referring to himself. If it was just a simple ore-sama that I think a lot of us who watch anime are familiar with, I don’t think I would have added the extra ham in the translation. However, Roa is using a sort of adjective here to directly mean “the Great”, and that’s 偉大なる (idainaru).

To give some context, 偉大なる is what you would use to refer to people like Frederick the Great, or Alexander the Great. I don’t think I would have done Roa justice if I left it at just “it’s my turn” or some variation thereof. He’s really full of himself!

神々しい (kougoushii)

Another word that Roa uses to refer to himself. The simple definition would be “godlike” or “divine”.

In my first draft, I translated his “divine draw” as “godlike draw” in order to follow the same translation I used when Roa says “I... can charm everyone... with my godlike qualities”, but it sounded a little too weird. Just know that both in that line and the “divine draw”, he’s using the same word.

“Would having it really make you feel more ‘majestic’?” (Original translation has been changed, thanks to corrections from Anons!)

This was a weird sentence to try and parse for me. Yuuga is basically asking if that’s really all Roa wants (like “do your ambitions only stretch this far?” kind of feeling).

The exact Japanese is 「そんなものが君の威厳なの？」(sonna mono ga kimi no igen na no?)

Translated literally, it could be “Is that really your dignity?” 威厳 means something like majesty or dignity. “Is that it?” would have been another way to translate this, but considering Mimi’s “adultlike” comment afterward, I chose to use some more big words to give off the same feeling that Yuuga was.

Safe to say Yuuga was not at all impressed!

Hero of the Dawn - Lydacross

I actually heard this as “Rider Cross” and it is still the name I used in my raw drafts of this episode. Thankfully I found the brain cell to go on the wiki and found it already translated as “Lydacross”, which makes more sense.

You may notice that I decided to go with “Hero of the Dawn” as opposed to “Brave of the Dawn”. This was just my own personal preference.

But even without summoning Sevens Road Magician, he can still kick his ass!

This is very obviously not really what Luke says.

The original Japanese is 「だがセブンスロードを出さなくてもこれなら存分に暴れられるぜ！」

I highlighted the part that I actually paraphrased. Luke actually says “even without [his ace], he can still rampage freely”. I translated this literally in my first draft, but felt as though it didn’t have enough impact. Part of translating is making sure your audience actually understands the words you’re trying to put out.

So in the final version, I changed it to something more colloquial that any English-speaker would recognize in the same tone.

そのときに手巻されたんですね — He rolled his own road.

God I really hate sushi girl.

She’s making a pun here with 手巻する (temaki suru). You may recognize this as a style of hand rolled sushi, which is exactly what she’s referring to. 手巻する can also mean “to handmake” or something to that effect.

Basically, she’s trying to say “he forged his own road after all” or something akin to it. She’s just going about it in a roundabout way and referring to sushi because why wouldn’t she.

I translated it as “he rolled his own road” as an attempt to mimic the pun.

It’s a beatstick style!

Some TCG slang. “Beatstick” refers to monsters with high ATK. A “beatstick style” would be to try and get out high ATK monsters to “beat” your opponent down. A kind of brute force strategy popular in the old days, before the hand traps came into my house and killed my family.

Yuuga isn’t someone who would cheat even if hell froze over!

Luke actually says something more akin to “even if the galaxy turned upside down”, but I felt like “even if hell froze over” conveyed what he meant better for an English-speaking audience.

Goha Duels vs Rush Duels

A minor note, but by “Goha duels” they mean master duels (5 monster zones, 5 spell/trap zones, normal rules, etc).

Nick vs Nikku

Obviously Nick/Nikku is a pun name on the word for “meat” (肉, niku). The reason I decided to translate his name as “Nick” and not “Nikku” was mainly because he just looks too American to have a name like “Nikku” LOL

Luke vs Rook

And finally, the big one.

I tossed around Rook vs Luke in my head for a long time, and while I know the previous subbers who did episodes 1-11 romanized it as “Rook” (mainly because his entire name is a shogi reference), I much prefer Luke due to it actually being a name. It is also what Konami uses officially.

‘Losing’ isn’t a word in Gojo’s vocabulary.

If it is, it’s usually addressed to the other party.

He’s been a winner ever since he was born, two blue eyes and an extra four hidden, holding power that manifests itself only once every few centuries. Some argue that he was born for that reason: to win, without doubt, incontestably.

And he supposes, most of it is true—which is why he can’t believe the loss he’s feeling right now, standing in front of the Daifuku stall across from you.

Never in his entire life did Gojo ever anticipate himself losing to anything. But with the way you’d casually nodded off, signaled so nonchalantly that you’d follow him but clearly didn’t—it has his head turning, finding you midbite a singular, shared stick of Yakitori.

He thinks he might have just experienced his first loss.

And the victor is none other than Itadori Yuuji.

You made a promise to Yuuji.

Back when he was still up for execution by virtue of being Sukuna’s vessel, you’d laid your confidence in Gojo.

“Sensei, do you really think it’s possible?” he asks, voice hesitant but eyes tinged with hope. You were discussing the ways his execution could go down—if it even will go down.

Shoko’s always pointed out that the most dangerous thing about you is hope, and how you hold onto it so deeply that you pass it onto others like a disease, spreading it to seep into skin and bones.

Gojo calls it your hidden technique, the trump card you pull out when everyone’s knocked down, spirits low. It’s what sets you apart, he thinks, how you’re able to survive in a world that serves as an antithesis to the values you hold.

“If Satoru said to leave it up to him, he’ll find a way,” you answer immediately, like you’ve known it all this time, experienced it first-hand—a memory. Then you add, an affirmation that sounds so close to fact, it reassures him, “he always does.”

“Let’s go to Osaka and eat all the street food when everything’s done.”

You made a promise to Yuuji, and here you are now, with Gojo, keeping it.

The streets of Osaka are bustling, crowded pretty much any time of the year—carts of all sorts of street food lined up with restaurants hidden in every corner. Neon banners and LED signs light up overhead, a twinkling food heaven reflected in Yuuji’s eyes.

It must be his first time here, you surmise, because he’s looking at every food stall like he’s ready to devour. You glance at Gojo, hands tucked in his pockets with his blindfold sitting snugly on his face. His presence is bright, blending in with the light, and he turns his head to you slightly, flashing you a small smile.

You tell yourself the warmth you feel is because of the heat radiating from all the vendors’ stoves.

“Sensei, what do you want to try first?” Yuuji interrupts your train of thought, but you’re sure he doesn’t mean to. He’s just excited, and his energy has always been infectious, spreading to both Gojo and you.

Gojo isn’t too big a fan of savory things, so you know you’re going to end up having to choose. You take a look around you to survey each stall, before turning back to Yuuji with a plan on how exactly you’re going to eat and conquer.

Gojo watches—the way you zig-zag across the street, following Yuuji as he walks up to each vendor. It’s amusing and endearing, seeing you being just as, if not more, enthralled at all the savory options in front of you.

Between the two of you, he’s always had the sweet tooth, so it tickles something in him that even when you don’t, you still sandwich-ed your game plan with alternating savory-sweet-savory food.

Yuuji’s first pick is of course, Okonomiyaki, an iconic must-have in Osaka. He asks for one first, but you insist on two, knowing that the boy is more than capable of finishing one on his own. On the frying sheet lie columns of the pancakes, all made up of a simple flour, eggs, and cabbage mix, fried and coated in flavors bursting of sweet, savory, and smoky. The lady vendor is generous with the toppings and sauce she pours over it, packing the two pancakes in separate plastic containers before handing one to you and the other to Yuuji.

You turn back to find Gojo a few steps behind you, so you beckon him closer.

“Let’s share,” you whisper, once he sidles up next to you. The plastic crinkles in your hand as you try to slice a piece. He can hear Yuuji’s muffled ‘whoah’ from the side.

You blow on the slice, lips shaped into a small ‘o’—and he doesn’t want to stare, not with Yuuji right there; neither of you have made anything official yet.

But this is really tempting him to kiss you.

He doesn’t know if you can tell—any hint of his desire concealed by his blindfold, but you shove the slice right to his lips. And, though it isn’t graceful at all, with the sauce probably smeared all over his mouth, it’s a good distraction from how much he wants you instead of the food right now.

The texture of the Okonomiyaki hits right every time, the crunchy and creamy combination providing a great contrast that complements how sweet and savory it is. The bite you take after his has your expression mirroring Yuuji’s, and he takes out his phone to start taking pictures.

“Gowo-shunsheh! Tek a shulfeh!” Yuuji shouts, mouth still full as he lifts his fingers up into a peace sign. You grin, ear-to-ear, evidence of your happy tummy; he wants to pinch your cheeks.

“Okay, copy!” he raises his phone up at an angle, fingers hovering over the volume button as he grips the edges, “ready! 1…2…3… say Okonomiyaki!”

Only Yuuji shouts it, and when Gojo reviews the photo, you’re halfway through a fallen smile—disbelief that he said something that cringe in his typical, loud, Gojo fashion too.

“Hey!” he points out, zooming into your face in the photo, “Again! You’re not smiling!”

You shoot him a look.

“We can try it with a .5 this time, the kids love doing it these days.” he suggests, flipping the phone and gathering you and Yuuji to come closer.

He takes two photos: one with flash and one without, and the moment he counts down, you mumble right by his ear to please not say Okonomiyaki when you have to smile—he chuckles.

And he says it again. Both times.

You expected no less, but at least you tried.

“You should be our human tripod next time,” you tell him, letting Yuuji go ahead.

The photos look good, with you tiptoeing as you balance a hand on Gojo’s shoulder, Yuuji at the back with his hands raised along with the empty plastic that used to house his Okonomiyaki.

“Knew you were just using me,” he pouts, hand reaching behind to rest at your lower back.

It’s been the subtleties with him this trip, tonight especially.

“Yep,” you play along, smiling at him oh-so-sweetly, “I knew those freakishly long arms were good for something.”

Before he can retort with something cheesy, along the lines of: ‘to hold you’ or ‘to hug you in your sleep’, you move away, catching up to Yuuji.

Your pick, for Gojo, is Taiyaki. It’s not his favorite thing to eat, but it’s sweet, and is still a good, nostalgic dessert, you’d like to think. Batter is poured all over the fish molds before being filled with the red bean filling. Then, after a few minutes of waiting, it pops out perfectly, ready to be eaten by the three of you. You ask for two again, only because this time, you know Gojo can finish one whole.

But when his eyes land on the Taiyaki you’re taking a bite from and he realizes very quickly that it isn’t his, he feels a pinch.

The crunchy outside and soft, full inside of the Taiyaki is enough to make him shrug off this feeling.

As the food trip goes on, you end up in many more stalls—

—a Takoyaki one, where Yuuji’s ‘ooo’s’ and ‘aaa’s’ are heard every time the balls are flipped and formed. The cooking on it is perfect, the octopus sitting just right with enough bite as flavors of soy and Worcestershire come through in its glaze. Gojo only eats one from the set of six that you ordered, and he wishes he just waited, because now Yuuji is eating half of the last one you couldn't finish.

—a Kushikatsu one, deep fried beef and vegetables coated in crispy, crunchy breadcrumbs and dipped in Tonkatsu sauce. Yuuji ends up finishing three whole sticks, while you manage to eat one. It’s an animated conversation between the two of you that Gojo can’t seem to insert himself into. A part of him feels a little pathetic now, tailing you both like a dog, but he just wants a little bit more of your attention.

—a Soba shop (not so much a stall) that serves the most amazing Cold Soba he definitely isn’t missing out on. Yuuji is practically buzzing, excited for anything noodles; it’s the main reason you’d suggested Osaka in the first place. He ducks in the shop last, Yuuji first with you in the middle, and when you settle in your seat right beside him, he endearingly snickers. Gojo can see everything, you’re reminded of that everyday and in moments like this especially—the way you sigh as soon as you release the top button of your pants immediately.

You pout at him as you’re served an order of noodles each, the dipping sauce in small ceramic as the noodles lie in bamboo boxes. It’s refreshing and light, just the right balance of sweet and savory; the buckwheat noodles have a lovely bite to them, not at all mushy. When he glances at you, halfway through your bowl, he can tell that you’re already full.

But just as he offers to finish yours, Yuuji speaks up,

“Sensei, are you going to finish that?”

You shake your head, pushing your bowl towards him; Gojo feels that pinch returning.

A few good minutes of walking find you on the way to another stall—

—a Yakitori one that Yuuji practically skips to, as if he didn’t just finish a bowl and a half of Cold Soba, three sticks of Kushikatsu, three and a half pieces of Takoyaki, a half of one Taiyaki, and a whole order of Okonomiyaki. It’s unbelievable how much this kid can eat; does he have more than one stomach?

Gojo decides to sit this one out, eyeing the Daifuku stand across the street—one, he’s gone here plenty of times before; two, he wants you to try it while it’s still fresh—soft and oh-so-delectable.

He takes off his blindfold, ruffling his hair. With Yuuji having gone ahead, it’s just the two of you.

“I’m going to buy Daifuku, there’s a special one I want you to taste,” he whispers excitedly, wiggling his eyebrows.

The expression on your face is the last thing he was expecting.

Your eyes are dazed, half-lidded, almost like you’re sleepy, and you blink at him twice before you’re able to fully process whatever it is you were saying. You could be having a food coma right now, just standing.

“Oh, okay,” you hum, nodding as you smile, dopey, “I’ll follow.”

He actually considers just waiting for a bit, because he wants you to go with him. But you insist and shoo him away, telling him that they might run out by the time the Yakitori line reaches Yuuji.

So he goes, and maybe it’s a little petty, and immature, and stupid-silly, but he hates how this entire food trip has felt like a battle for your attention between him and Yuuji.

Even though he’s probably the only one who feels it.

So it’s one-sided. Definitely.

And he’s losing. Terribly.

Each individual piece of Daifuku looks majestic, pink mochi with red bean filling, sliced in the middle to leave room for a whole syrup-glazed strawberry. He orders two boxes to bring back home and an extra two pieces, one for the two of you to share and the other for Yuuji.

Gojo’s mouth is watering and he really wants to take a bite already, but you aren’t anywhere near him. So when he turns around and spots you, no doubt midchew on the last few bites your stomach can handle from that shared Yakitori stick, he feels that pinch again. Because al you’d done was split savory food with Yuuji, and all he wanted was a bit more attention sharing half-bites with you.

When you finally meet his eyes across the street, signature blue amidst bright reds and neon greens, he’s pouting, and he hopes he’s making it really obvious that he wants (needs) you to go to him.

Your eyes widen before crossing the street, Yuuji right on your heel.

“Whoah, Sensei! That looks good!” Yuuji’s voice booms, earning a few looks.

Gojo holds one Daifuku on each hand, the other two boxes tucked in a plastic bag hanging by his elbow.

“It’s their special one!” He smiles at Yuuji, handing it over.

You look at him curiously, head tilted to the side as you watch him closely—how his smile doesn’t really reach his eyes.

Once Yuuji moves out of earshot, his series of ‘mmm’s’ getting softer as he explores more stalls around you, you face Gojo and open your mouth wide, “Aaaah,”

Gojo doesn’t move for the first few seconds, but you meet in the middle eventually, his hand inching towards feeding you while you move your head closer. He keeps his palm open under your chin, cupping it to serve as a catch tray for any filling that might spill out.

There’s something about the look of you, half-sleepy and asking to be fed, that makes him feel warm and fuzzy—like that pinching feeling earlier never existed. Like he’d gladly do this everyday if you asked for it.

The soft, plush exterior of the mochi touches your lips, and you bite, the filling oozing out just enough for you to get a good portion of it. Flavors of red bean and strawberry hit your palate, and the filling doesn’t leak, but the syrup coating the strawberry catches onto your nose when you move away.

At the tip of your nose is a shiny red spot, glistening under the busy lights. The expression on your face is pleased, content—your head doing that side-to-side sway whenever you like the taste of something.

“Mmm,” you smile at him, “it’s yummy.”

And he doesn’t know what it is, if it’s the look you’re giving him, or if it’s something in the air tonight but he feels warm and full and still very much like he wants to kiss you.

So he decides, damn all the passersby.

He does one quick scan around him, making sure that Yuuji, at the very least, is away from the immediate vicinity. And when it’s all clear, he leans in.

Gojo kisses you on the nose in the middle of a busy street food road, and his lips are soft, almost feather-light, swooping in quickly before anyone can notice. You’re stunned into silence, but the moment you come to, he’s already swiped the strawberry syrup off you.

His cheeks are starting to turn pink, the sides of his neck already as red as the signs on the food stalls. And he can tell you feel it too, with the way your sleepiness seems to have faded into what now looks like surprise.

Still cute though.

(Always will be, in his eyes).

So, ‘losing’ isn’t really a word in Gojo’s vocabulary.

But if it is, he thinks he’d gladly lose to you.

(Still not to Yuuji though. He still has to keep a maybe eye out for that one).
