Happy 79th anniversary to one of my most favorite (and most impactful) movies ever: Fantasia. 🖤 Fantasia is my dad’s favorite movie (he used to go to the theater and watch it all the time as a kid) and I remember how excited he was to take me to see it when I was little when they rereleased it in theaters. However, my parents decided the “Night on Bald Mountain” scene was too scary for me so we left before that scene began. It wasn’t until years later when we owned the VHS that was able to finally see the scene and bask in all it’s spooky, demonic glory. This morning’s selection for our Halloween Playlist is “A Night on Bald Mountain,” by Mussorgsky, notably featured in the 1940 animated musical anthology film “Fantasia” by Disney.

It’s a slow start, and then some wild music, and finally a slow wind-down to the end. If you watch the animated sequence from Fantasia, it’s pretty psychedelic, especially for the 40′s. There are a lot of ghosts & demons. It may be an oldie, but it’s an absolute classic.

There appears to be an unintentional Disney clump at this part of the playlist, but that’s entirely coincidental, I assure you.

Ok!!! So....as some of you may have noticed. But probably not many. I kind of stoped posting my daily doodles. I simply got busy. For a bit and then got lazy. But im going to try and make up for it now and end the year with hopefully still a doodle for every day. With the exception of today I’m going to be doing two or more doodles a day until I have done as many as I would have done had I made one every day still.
