When the moon finally reaches directly overhead (which Louis mostly notices because Niall grabs his hand and squeezes it like he’s trying to pop the eyes off a trout), Lady Oich swims up before them and recites the ceremonial vows, her mermaid tongue twisting the words into a haunting song about being bound for life to one’s lover. Louis shivers as the words wash over him, at the magnitude of their meaning. 

When she ends her speech, Louis suddenly realises he wishes badly that he wasn’t one of the best looking omegas here, because he really doesn’t want to be first. 

But then Lady Oich makes eye contact with him and raises her hand, and Louis’ heart nearly stops in his chest. She’s signalled that he’s first, and that his choosing begins now.

He’s been up at the Help Desk for about half an hour when someone in a fireman uniform who is not Liam comes up to him.

This man, this not-Liam man, is probably the most attractive man Harry has ever seen. Did he say the other day that Liam was hot? That was a lie. No one could hold a candle to this perfect human specimen right in front of him. He’s got soft chestnut coloured hair that Harry would like to run his hands through, a bit of stubble that defines the set of his jaw, the cutest button nose Harry has ever seen, and the curve of his neck… This man cannot possibly be a mere human. Perhaps this Christmas is the second coming of Christ, because this man is compact perfection.

“Hello,” Perfection says when he reaches the counter.

Harry squeaks, and tries to cover it up with a cough.

“I’m Louis,” says Perfection. He sticks his hand out and�� shit, is this what Liam felt like? What hand does Harry use? Which is the right one?

By the time Harry gets back to the office, Louis’ arrived and is sipping coffee from his signature fox mug. He waves at Harry. “You’re not dead!” 

“I’m not dead,” Harry agrees. “Just had to go rescue my roommate.”

“Ah,” says Louis. “Nick said you had one hour vomiting sickness.”

“That too,” Harry says. He sits down and goes back to his stack of plans that he had barely started copying. His head still hurts. He doesn’t want to have to go stand at the copier for the next hour fighting with it, so he takes the six that were successfully copied and brings them up on his screen, indexing and archiving them. 

The plans that Harry copies are supposed to have no paperclips, no staples, no sticky notes. 

The people who create these packets are what Mitch likes to call “incompetent nutters”.

On the wall behind him, Harry’s started a collection of sticky notes that he’s pulled out of the copier when the pages jam. He cuts them up to protect privacy information which makes them unique and wonky and wonderful. He takes a moment to flip through the six on his desk, and adds two to the collage; Please add blood and dissenting opinion. That’s satisfying at least.

Now trying to distract himself from the faint salmon smell that seems to be growing stronger, Louis starts people-watching with a purpose. There’s a woman with a young child in her arms who has a stuffed bear in her arms, and all three of them are in matching blue dresses. The person now sitting opposite him has purple hair and earrings that hang past their shoulders in a tangle of tiny glinting beads. Louis wonders how often they get stuck on things. He can see what he thinks is a soulmate tattoo just below their jawline, something short. Good for them. 

There’s a man at the far end of the tube who is wearing a chunky oversized sweater, colourful knit squares patched together like a clown outfit made for winter. Louis isn’t sure, but he thinks it might be hideous. The guy is turned around, though, so he can only see the back of it.

Louis knows that his tail is, frankly, stunning. His iridescent blue scales shimmer in even the slightest sunlight, and his fins have grown since he presented, delicate and almost transparent in their webbing.

He also knows that that means he’ll be one of the first to pick tonight, as the most beautiful omegas are blessed to pick their mates first. It’s considered a huge honour, since the guppies they’ll eventually birth will certainly be beautiful as well, bringing favour on the whole clan.

Louis has a stubborn streak, though. He’s always been rather a fan of mating for love, and there’s someone he’s had his eye on for a long time now.

Except Niall just broke up with his boyfriend, Zayn needs to let up on the rules a little, and the library is getting their fire alarm system replaced, which means that for the next few weeks there are going to be firemen patrolling the library ‘looking for fires’ while the system is down.

Harry almost hits one of them with his car right off the bat - and of course he’s the hot one.

That being said, no one told Harry that being an adult came with a confusingly chaotic boss, a copier machine that would be hell-bent on ruining his life, and a coworker so good looking that Harry might just have to quit. After all, Christmas is coming and if their office doesn’t win the decorating contest, Louis has threatened to break several laws and kneecaps in retaliation.

just in time for s3 of dndads, let’s get into it! this one will probs be a lot but so much has happened in the past year 😭

- taylor LOVES chinese new year, he looks forward to it every year as the favorite (only) child and he eats all the dumplings he could ever eat and gets tons of red envelopes

- cassandra and morgan become best friends/mother-daughter relationship vibes post-doodler, like they are the most badass and cool women in the world and i do think taylor grows to love morgan so much and even though his relationships with nick/glenn are strained, at least he has the best mom and grandma

- as a voice actor for anime/cartoons i think cassandra really did fall in love w the art of anime and i’d love for her to guest at a con (make her the j michael tatum of her world PLEASE) and taylor gets a free ticket to weeb out as much as he wants <3

- in my heart glenn is trying his best, like he really wants that closeness (haha) and i think now post-doodler it's like literally what started as a father/son duo of him and nick now is genuinely a huge (kinda fucked up) family that is trying to mend itself and i do think it starts with chinese takeout !!!

- sidenote i think the close/foster/swifts etc are a great example of how freddie has subverted asian stereotypes fr and also how a family stuck in an absent/neglectful cycle has the ability to come together again

- the mending includes hermie too, hermie definitely deserves something more in his life and the chance get to be a kid w a home in the form of a big family w his bio dads (his normal parents are invited too) (and i also love the idea of normal being like 'grandpa henry! this is the guy!' and hermie being an honorary oak would be so cute 😭)

My Ever-so changing opinions : TV show version

I will go from the two most controversial (in my opinion) to going over one by one.

You love but everyone hates : Riverdale, it's more wattpad then the actual wattpad movies ya know??? Do I take the series seriously? No. Do I like it as a series for its storytelling, characters? Not even a bit. Do I find it so entertaining because it's like it's written by a suger high seven year old who just loves sex? Yeah. It's like being high without the weed. The story is shit, the characters are shit but when you off all your brain cells and just watch. It becomes my favorite wattpad comedy.

You hate but everyone loves : Big bang theory, I have the opposite feeling with this one. I love the characters, they are iconic but I can't help but take them seriously ya know? The show is for nerds but it makes fun of nerds. It's dated in some areas and honestly ever romantic relationship except Amy and Sheldon made me very uncomfortable. But even so, I genuinely likes the characters so much so that Young Sheldon is in my top 10 TV shows.

Favorite TV show : Heartstopper, my heart stoped watching this. I am a simple bi girl who was SO DAMN happy with Nick. I am a simple girl, who loves Charlie's story. I am a simple girl who compared my bff with Teo. I am a simple girl who may or may not have a mini crush on Ellie--- you get my point.

Favorite protagonist : Fiona from shameless, I like her. She is like very comforting and loving but bites and is just tired you know? Like she was one of the first protagonists to make me cry. Shameless is pretty much a series that has many main character's but Fiona is the center head of the story in my opinion.

Favorite Deuteragonist : stiles stilinski from Teen Wolf, I am a very simple girl.

Favorite Antagonist : Void stiles from Teen Wolf, a very very simple girl.

Best story : Anne with an E, whenever I see someone talking about this series they mainly focus on the romance which is pretty good but the characters, their stories and the messages are genuinely great. I like almost everything about this story. That being said, I am still watching it, I am a slow watcher give me a break but from what I see, This is worth the watch.

Favorite Intro : Got a secret. Can you keep it swear on this one you'll save~ better lock it in your pocket, taking this one to the grave~ *nostalgia rushing in me.

Have not watched but want to : Young royals, I have heard it's good. The cast seems intriguing but I just didn't have the time :-(

Best cinematography : Stranger Things season 3.

Favorite ending : Heartstopper season 3.

Favorite season : Teen wolf season 3B.

Favorite pilot episode : Pretty little liars, the first episode brought in so much intrigue and levels of mystery that me who watched it after it's downfall was hooked. Even though I knew it would lead to shitty reveals, it is still very well done.

Favorite episode : Big time rush, last episode. It made me smile.

Would like to watch again : Hannah Montana, I miss my childhood.

Would never watch again : Riverdale, do I find it funny? Yeah. Will I watch it again? Nope.

Favorite plot twist : Young Sheldon, George senior not actually cheating on Mary and it being just Mary cosplaying. They did it very well and made it believable to why Sheldon as an adult would still believe that George cheated while maintaining that the man was a loving father and husband. It also hit hard after his death.

Should have more attention : Anne with an E. And also heartstoppers but it already does thankfully.

Big Time Rush Song Rankings (+ commentary nobody asked for): "BTR"

I was bored. Decided to go through their albums and put them into a list from favorite to least favorite.

"Worldwide": Is it possible this song is overrated and hyped too much? No. This song was on heavy rotation for me from the moment I heard it. Wonderful song, 10/10. Full of love and yearning. Their all white outfits in the music video? Iconic. My mom's friend's daughter went to one of their shows and was picked as the Worldwide Girl, and young me didn't handle that well (I wasn't even AT the concert, so not like I had a chance, but still). I'm almost over it.

"Til I Forget About You": When they would show the music video for this during commercial breaks on Nick, I would leap from the couch and do the dance along with them. There used to be a good analysis post breaking down each of the boys' sections in the song and how it correlates with their personalities in the show and how they deal with heartbreak (there's also one for "Famous" that does the same).

"Big Time Rush": I used to sit on the school bus and stare blankly out the window listening to this one on repeat at like 7:45 in the morning. Just...not even awake yet but psyching myself up to live it big time.

"Famous": This one is pretty much tied with "Big Time Rush" in my head, and I'm tempted to bump it to 3, but the song's theme ultimately wins out. Love this song. Can't help but see it in a weirdly haunting light due to the above mentioned "Famous Analysis" post that I read over and over when I was younger and changed the way I saw the song from that point on. Thank you to Swedish girl-group Play for giving us this song. (I assume most people in the fandom have seen or heard the Play version already but if not, check it out)

"Halfway There": Ok, so. I love this song, but EVERY TIME I listen to it, I'm filled with slight annoyance over the fact that it's the "different" version than was originally released. When this single was released, it was KENDALL who sang the opening lines ("When the chips are down, back against the wall" etc) and then James who did his part later. That's the version I listened to for months before they got rid of it and replaced it with the version that appeared on their album. It was a jarring experience for me, and I've never quite fully recovered. The song will forever sound slightly wrong to me because of it.

"Stuck": Prior to starting this blog and doing the rewatch, I hadn't heard a lot of their songs for years, and I had completely forgotten this one existed. Like, it had been wiped from my brain. Rediscovering it was fun.

"City is Ours": Fun fact-my sister is scarred for life from this song and can no longer listen to it because when she was younger, she used it as her alarm tone to get up for school. It's forever associated with waking up in a panic early in the morning and has been ruined for her since the show's original run.

"This is Our Someday": I feel like this song is one of those forgotten ones. I don't remember it being big either in the show or outside of it back in the day (and it has the second lowest listens on Spotify). I do like it, though. Such a hopeful tune, and the line, "One is good, but four is better?" That's a good one. So true, guys.

"Count on You": This is a sweet one. I LOVE the music video for it in the Jordin Sparks episode. It's just. It's smooth. It feels like silk in my brain, though it's not one of my faves. I especially like how Logan's part, "What would I wanna do that for?" comes right at the "four" mark in their counting. Very nice.

"Big Night": Was never really a fan of this one because something about the way the music is structured bothers me but it's super sing-able, so it gets some props for that.

"I Know You Know": This one was going to be number 12, but it gets a bump up due to the acoustic version from '22 giving me slightly more appreciation for it. My original list didn't even include this song because I totally forgot about it until just now when I was going through the album.

"Oh Yeah": Not much to say about this one. I didn't really listen to it when I was younger because it was a "James song" and he was my least favorite of the guys singing-wise. (I am SORRY James stans) Love the spinning Logan head in the music video, though. I remember the fandom really enjoying that part.

"Nothing Even Matters": I simply don't have feelings about this song one way or another. It's just there.

"Any Kind of Guy": I have bizarre issues with this song. Gives me sensations of unpleasant colors and patterns. Zig-zaggy and burnt orange and brown. Bleh. Last place for "Any Kind of Guy." I think the silly music video with all the costumes didn't help.

Miley Cyrus' constant evolution

 Miley Cyrus started her career in 2006 as an actress and singer in the Disney series : Hannah Montana.

The show was wildly successful, and Miley quickly became a global pop sensation. She was a teen idol and her music was targeted to a young public with hits like “Best of both World”.

Then, in the 2010s she broke free from Disney and had a kind of rebellion. She released her album “Bangerz” in 2013 and it marked a clear transformation of her music and her image. She wanted to be free, independent and to stop being seen as a disney kid anymore. She shocked the world because of her provocative behaviour. She created a lot of controversy.  However, it was also a turning point in her career, allowing her to reclaim her narrative and embrace a more adult, unfiltered persona. 

In 2015, she had a sort of identity crisis after the chaotic years of “Bangerz”. She released the album “Miley and her dead petz” which is completely different from her other albums. We can hear some lo-fi and psychedelic inspirations. With this album, she was able to talk about her mental health, her use of drugs, and her will to to step away from commercial success in favour of more personal, avant-garde expression. This album is artistically elaborated and significant.

In 2017, she found her musical style and what suits her the best with her album “Younger Now” which is a mix of country, pop and rock. She embraced her family’s musical heritage as she connected with her southern influences like her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and her godmother, Dolly Parton. This album was an entry into adulthood, it was softer and mature but was not as successful as her previous albums.

Then, in 2020, Miley fully embraced her rock persona with “Plastic Hearts”. This album has rock and pop influences. During this period, she collaborated with many rock stars such as Billy Idol or Stevie Nicks. But she has not forgotten her country roots and still sings “Jolene” with Dolly Parton when she gets the opportunity, as she did in 2023 for her live show “Miley’s New Years’ Eve Party”.

This phase is the climax of her evolution, she transformed from a teenage Disney pop star to a provocateur and edgy artist to a pop-rock icon with country influences. 

She is a multifacet artist and uses her influences and her powerful voice to sing many different genres of music. She refuses to be boxed into one category.
