Miles: -completely unnecessary. Doing a Steel Samurai reboot so soon after the series ended is a foolish decision, everyone will be directly comparing the two from the moment the first episode drops. I don't believe they even have a fresh direction for the show, the only difference will be the cgi. God forbid we rock the boat and follow a new character! It's abundantly clear to me that the studio executives are cowards.

Some things I learned reading the original 1986 Top Gun script (because it was part of my English class and I read that shit like a fanfic at 3am giggling and kicking my feet that it was actually contributing to my career now lmaoooo)

-Pete “Maverick” Mitchell was originally called Evan “Maverick” Mitchell

-Slider was the original one in the O club to have the snarky conversation with Goose and Maverick

-Goose lost a drinking game.

-Goose was making gay jokes with an A7 pilot buddy of his that was unnamed.

-Maverick and Goose both rode to NAS Miramar on the back of Mavericks bike and got pulled over by a CHP on the way there and it was very awkward, Maverick was being a little shit to the cop the entire time (YOU GO BABY)

-Iceman saw him get pulled over and that was his first impression of him.

-At the very end they wrote out an entire scene of just Maverick pushing through the crowd of the flight crew to get to Ice so they could stare intensely at eachother in silence before giggling at eachother.

-VAL KILMER WAS NOT KIDDING WHEN HE SAID THERE WASNT MUCH TO ICEMAN ON PAPER SO HE MADE HIM HIMSELF.

-without Val there would have been no volleyball scene, tooth snapping flirting, goose apology, O club interaction (to the degree they had one, they did talk but it was very briefly), or shirtless locker room scene.

-Hollywood and Wolfman are way gayer in the movie, Wolf flirts with girls 24/7 in the script but in the film he’s attatched to Hollywood at the HIP (we love that for them)

-Goose is constantly being flirted with by random women and has to always bring them back to Maverick to convince them he’s ACTUALLY married. (AND MAVERICKS FUCKING RESPONSE WAS “he’s married but he’s not dead’ LIKE PETE HONEY WHAT??)

-Val made Iceman so gay. I’m putting this one in here twice because it’s worthy.

-THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE SCENE WITH CAROLE IN THE BBQ PLACE IN THE SCRIPT LIKE HONEY WHAT!! THATS MRS GOOSE WERE TALKING ABOUT HERE!! SHAME!

-Goose and Mavs interactions in the script were so funny like why’d they cut so many of themmmm.

-Sundowns callsign was changed to Fungus because of a joke and it stuck.

part three of "what if the axolotl brought bill back as a human because it knows he'd hate it"

just because bill is 'gone', doesn't mean the forests of gravity falls are any safer than before. more story details below the cut

mabel and bill make the fastest friends out of all of the pines, if that wasn't obvious already. but don't be fooled, mabel really didn't like him when he first showed up. in fact, she sucker punched him in the stomach so hard he fell over and everyone laughed at him (mostly stan). she said, "that's for trying to kill my brother," and in a way, this made bill respect her more than he already did. of course, he'd never tell anyone that. he knows you're not supposed to have a favorite child, but mabel is definitely his favorite child.

with bill's presence gone, a lot more creatures begin roaming further into populated areas than they did before, which results in mabel getting attacked. luckily, bill is there, and he cares about is so possessive of the family that he kills it and saves her. the two stans plus dipper were hot on his heels, but not as fast as him. after this, she makes bill that friendship bracelet in his original reference! and maybe starts playing matchmaker between him and ford, just a little bit.

Ok, so we know that after Phoenix saw news articles about how Edgeworth had become a ruthless prosecutor but before Phoenix became a lawyer himself, he wrote letters to Edgeworth to try and get through to him and convince him that what he was doing was wrong. Do we think Edgeworth read the letters? Do we think he kept them? Realistically, I think he read the first one because he recognized Nick's name and was curious what he had to say, and then got angry and threw out all the subsequent letters without looking at them. But imagine if he had kept them, and after reuniting with Nick, went through them. I feel like that would be a good opportunity for drama.

I also wonder if Nick thinks Edgeworth read all his letters or not. Like if he said certain things in the letter and assumes Edgeworth knows them when they meet, it could lead to interesting miscommunication. Obviously you could do this in a ship context, but I think it'd be compelling from a friendship point of view as well. If Nick had emphasized how much respect he had for Edgeworth and how much he believes in his ability to do good in the world and how he cares deeply about helping Edgeworth realize that, and all Edgeworth does is tell him to go away and that he never wants to see him again, that that feels a lot more crushing if Nick thinks that Edgeworth read about him being vulnerable and honest and then just didn't care.

Honestly though, I feel like after not getting a response for awhile Nick would assume Edgeworth wasn't reading the letters and start getting pissy, and only continue to send the letters for the principle of the matter (Edgeworth will have to see the letter in his mailbox after all and be reminded of Nick's existence even if he doesn't read them). I could see him using the letters more as a way of shouting into the void about his feelings with no expectation of them being read. I imagine the first letter was a very mild and kind plea that Edgeworth remember his old friend and who he used to be, and then 10 letters later it's just one page with "bitch" written in big letters because Nick is So Done. In which case, it would actually be so much funnier if Edgeworth DID read all of them from the beginning. Maybe this is why he acted the way he did when Nick met him again.
