Pioneer Club, 1987

“Famous” was added to the Pioneer Club marquee in '64. There were two signs: one on South 1st St, the other on Fremont. These were identical to the “Famous” script on the Las Vegas Club marquee since the late 50s, though all three signs were of a different size.

In the 2007 a section of South 1st Street at Carson was closed to allow for the expansion of Golden Nugget, leaving South 1st at Fremont a dead end. In 2014 that remaining section of South 1st was filled in with new construction. In the process the signage from Pioneer Club's 1st Street marquee was removed. The “Famous” sign is now on display at the Neon Museum.
