Now they just leave me in their dust. The American Falls (pictured above) stands at 180 feet tall and over 1000 feet wide. While the estimated flow of water is 75,000 gallons per second, the American Falls only accounts for 10% of Niagara Falls total water flow.

Standing on one of the famous Maids of the Mist boats in the Niagar Gorge, the sheer size of the American Falls becomes obvious. Tourists can be seen in blue climbing along side the massive waterfall. Shooting in this environment became increasingly difficult as the boat inched closer to the falls. Mist quickly covered the lens I was working with, but between frantically wiping away water and adjusting settings this shot was captured.
