SOUTH BASE/ HOME | Tuesday, 31/10/17 After 4 long and challenging months, I finished my army course and ready to begin my way in the Psycotecnical Alignment. Pretty shocked at how I didn’t fall apart after hearing the 2 worst stuff I could have heard- I’ve failed my course and got my least favorite base. Day one starts tomorrow, please let it be good.

World Headcanon - Terra Nova

Terra Nova is an Earth-Like planet located in the universe 256-NHOME (On the United Government’s Ministry of Science’s ‘FasTrack’ Coordinate Register). The actual inhabitants of Terra Nova actually call it Earth, but it is commonly referred to on the M.O.S’s register as ‘Terra Nova’, a name for both the planet and the universe as a whole.

Terra Nova was first discovered by the M.O.S in the early days of multiversal research in 1974. Investigations continued for several years until it was ascertained as a suitable world to connect with, to form alliances with. This started with the United Nations, before approaching other respected governments, in secret, with one at this stage looking into it further, as a trial to see how things work out. The process was finally started in 1988, but is still ongoing. While there is an alliance formed and the world is considered to be protected by the United Government, the vast majority of the population do not even know about the existence of such an organisation, nor inter-dimensional travel.

It isn’t as advanced as Authrum, but it has been advancing more and more rapidly as the decades progress. Smartphones have been a thing for a few years now, an emerging technology taking the world by storm. The announcement of new generation tablets is set to make things better for society, among many other new achievements.

Terra Nova is home to Bowen Chuuno and his parents. Morrie Chuuno was an employee of the Ministry of Science since late 1988 and is a native to Terra Nova.

Most of the locations in Terra Nova are centered around Bowen’s home, being that such is the only one properly connected at this stage. However, other governments have been briefed about what has been happening, with mixed results. Some are watching with interest to see further development, others are more cautious about the state of sovereignty and national security.

Out of all the worlds connected to the Inter-Dimensional Network, the United Government’s transport network connecting universes together, Terra Nova is considered to be the most peaceful and the most sheltered from multiversal conflict.

Notable Locations:

South Oz

South Oz is in the state of Oz, the country which is Bowen’s home. A lot of connection with the United Government initially started in South Oz, with the greatest connection out of all the connected countries of this world. Many people who live in metropolitan South Oz travel to and from other dimensions without anyone else knowing, thanks to the connection with the Suburban Transport Authority. It is also served by the STA’s Super Express, with Adelaide as a terminating station.

Notable locations of South Oz include:

Adelaide: the capital. Not as big as many other notable cities, but being a planned city, it has quite a bit of character, structured, with a central CBD, as well as scenic outskirts.

Adelaide Railway Station: One of the terminating locations of the Super Express. It’s a vast, nine-platform station that’s been around since the late 1920s. A place you could probably catch Bowen on his work with the trains, during his required breaks, when he’s not in Lobarr.

Southern District: The umbrella term for the suburbs that make up the world Bowen has known for much of his life. Suburbs include Carey Downs (His home), Carey’s Beach, Nonunga Centre (Where the railway station is), Murie Vale, and a few others. The beach is only a fifteen/twenty minute walk from Bowen’s house, and the view can be seen from quite a distance away.

Nonunga Centre Railway Station: Bowen‘s local train station, (even if there is one in Carey Downs). He likes frequenting there sometimes thanks to his love of public transport, especially in the peak periods to see certain trains/buses passing by. Between the railway station is the cinema and bowling alley on one side, and Colonnades on the other. It has an island platform, as well as one separate platform on one side.

Colonnades: The local shopping centre. It’s been around since Bowen was born, but has grown only very recently. There’s a big food court, two supermarkets, and loads of different shops, clothing, discount variety, technology, all sorts, even a department store or two.

Marton Park: A big reserve that’s fifteen minutes or so from Bowen’s house. The quickest spot to get away from everything, even if the railway line is on one side of it. It’s a place Bowen comes to be alone sometimes, if feeling the mood for it. They say however, something strange lies in Marton Park, with some conspiracy theories about the place. Who knows what is lurking deep within.

Port Thomas: Once home to an Oil Refinery, the site has been converted to a Ministry of Science energy facility. How it was pulled off with the public unsuspeceting, not many people know. In the dark of the night, beams of energy are seen coming from the sky, down onto the facility. Normal, of course, to the facility, but an incredible wonder to those who witness it. The beams’ energy is strong enough to wreck any form of cameras trying to record the sight.. and people who try and report the sightings tend to be quickly discredited.

Carey’s Beach: The beach of the aptly named suburb. It’s quite a stretching beach, linking with O’Hallivans Beach and Port Nonunga. It’s a nice calming beach when the weather is right, home to beautiful sunsets. It’s good place to come when one needs peace, especially at dusk.
