I think this moment from the NHIE s4 trailer takes place in Ben’s room.
There's a chair right outside, just like there is outside of Ben's room

2. Similar floor-to-ceiling windows.
3. Similar curtains.
4. You can see his desk in the background, and his very distinctive desk lamp as well

Based on Devi's outfit and her seductive behavior there (not at all how she behaves in real life), I bet it's a dream sequence. Ben's dream.

Never Have I Ever 4x01: “When did his torso become so… clawable?”
“Is it just me or did Ben kind of become a stud over the summer?” — Jaren Lewison
I know the way the trailer was cut made it seem like this comment was about Ethan… but hear me out here. Given Jaren Lewison’s comment above, and the fact that this is from the same scene during which Ben walked into the school’s hallway, and then Eleanor made this comment as the trio saw some guy walking away from them, I bet Eleanor and Devi are actually thirsting on Ben here. Moreover, her comment makes it sound like Eleanor is referring to someone she knows well, which kind of disqualifies Ethan as this is only minutes into the new season. So I think this is the moment the trio realize that Ben has had a glow up over the summer.
That gif of him working out is also from 4x01, btw.
Thoughts?

If you love Ben for Devi, you are going to love season 4 of Never Have I Ever, most likely more than all the previous seasons.
If you love Ben as a character in his own right, then you are going to love it even more. I can pretty much guarantee you that much.
I have only seen the first two episodes and even I can already tell how much he’s going to be going through in season 4. And how much Jaren Lewison is going to impress us all with his performance. Because the first thing I wrote after I left the screening was, “Poor Ben. Also, Jaren Lewison is a fucking good actor.” He just keeps getting better and better and better.

Comments on Never Have I Ever Season 4’s first two episodes:
The sheer absurdity of people getting themselves worked up into a panic over spoilers from the first two episodes of nhie season 4, when most of them haven’t even watched these episodes themselves.
The tags (and my Twitter timeline) are full of people passing judgments (and full-blown catastrophizing) as if they knew exactly what the first 2 episodes were going to be like. Clearly these folks had heard spoilers from someone about them, but at the same time they were clearly missing all the subtleties and nuances because plot points are only the skeleton that makes up a story. They heard the cliffnotes version of the final product, at best.
I have seen these episodes myself, so I can say that those plot points didn’t even come close to encapsulating what really happened. When it comes to Ben (and Devi), so much of the story is in what’s unsaid. These are things that you cannot transmit by just summarizing plot points or dialogs. Instead, you hear them in the actor’s voice, their body language and facial expressions, and the delivery of their lines. A character can say one thing on the script while their face and body language portray conflicting feelings about what they are saying.
The bottom line is as follows:
I was frustrated as heck by what transpired during the first two episodes, but I understood why it had to happen. Ben is insecure and he acknowledges that about himself, but he’s yet to admit that there are far deeper fears that are preventing him from being with Devi. He’s scared shitless of getting hurt again, and given his past traumas, we cannot overstate just how traumatic the events of season 2 were to him. And he hasn’t addressed that fully yet. And so, he was trying his best to look after himself while still do right by everyone (Margot and Devi both), but you could see how hard it was on him and how confused he was by the whole thing. Frustrating af, but I was mightily impressed by Jaren Lewison’s ability to portray Ben’s inner conflict so beautifully within the first two episodes. And without the aid of a 24/7 narrator at that.
I saw a lot of things swirling around the internet that clearly were the product of improperly transmitted second- or even third-hand information. It’s like an awful game of telephone or something, where with each round of transmission, the information gets ever more degraded and further away from the original truth. That is exactly how misinformation spreads. And I see people catastrophizing for no reason as a result.

Mr. Jaren Lewison's hairstylist Colleen Dominique posted this last night.
It looks like these two are the only ones on camera and that they are kind of interviewing each other. My guess is this is going to be an official Netflix feature that they'll post on Tudum or something to accompany the season 4 release.

The story behind this really sweet moment from yesterday’s red (purple?) carpet
I remember this moment because he was making his rounds and then something stopped him in his tracks, and the already deafening cheers just got even louder for some reason I didn’t understand yet at the time. He was at least 20, 30 feet away from where I was standing and facing away from me so I didn’t really know what it was. But this explains everything. He was genuinely overcome with emotions for a bit there and the people saw it (hence the extra cheers), and it was just a really sweet and wholesome moment. The man is a real softie and that is partly why he is such a good actor.

I like that it looks like Margot is going to be around for much of season four, because actress Victoria Moroles actually filmed all the way to August. Meaning that even after her character Margot breaks up with Ben, she’ll probably still be around as one of his friends. He needs that. Good for that kid. I am even more excited about s4 now.

Do you still think ben will have a pov episode this season? I'm a little apprehensive now about 4x06 because of the released stills...
I am not sure. After looking at the stills, I think the most likely outcome is that there will be no stand-alone POV episodes this season. That’s because every episode we’ve seen stills of so far, from 4x01 to 4x10, seems to have stills from multiple POVs/vantage points. Perhaps they might do split POVs in some of these episodes. I wouldn’t mind that either, but regardless, Jaren Lewison does not really need a narrator to narrate his character’s thoughts or feelings, does he? He’s going to do exceedingly well either way.
For what it’s worth, I had the pleasure of doing a virtual meeting with Mr. Jaren Lewison himself a few months ago. We talked about various aspects of Ben’s arc and how he approached his portrayal from both technical and psychological angles. When we discussed what was ahead of Ben in season 4, he told me (and I quote): “There is a hell of a lot going on next season [with Ben]. So, if you’re excited, you should get more excited, because there is so much for you to dive into next season, for sure.” So there’s that.
