Because I’m looking at a lot of textile design in my project, I thought it was important to look at textile designers that have worked with similar concepts. I talked to a textile student called Daisy, who was undergoing a project about nature in urban settings. Even though it’s not exactly the same, that concept still encapsulates the idea of moss. She recommended some textile designers to me that she was currently looking at, including Nguyen Cong Tri, a Vietnamese fashion designer.

I particularly looked at his AW17 Japan Collection, which features pieces that directly reference nature in texture, shape, and look. 

I was obviously drawn to his more moss like creations, and I’m quite fascinated by his ability to make something so life like yet fashionable. He does not shy away from the roots of his concepts, and it is evident where his inspiration came from.
