That day in school when I met you, you greeted me in the playground. We played around for hours. We play every single game you could imagine. Hide and Seek was definitely my favourite game to play with you because you were so bad at it that you begged me not to play it and we would play your favourite game instead, tag. It was only fun for you because you were a fast runner, I was not. But I kept running so you would be happy playing this game until our parents came to pick us up. You were also the kindest person I’ve ever met, the day I scraped my knee on the playground and you were there with a spiderman band-aid and you put it on me, you cared for me so much and told me clean it properly when I got home even if it did sting a lot. It was a lot better than an infection that would be 10x worse than it was now, I went home and did exactly what you said. I still remember those moments. I remember them because we sat by those white flowers. They were the prettiest flowers you have ever seen. I think that day I saw something prettier than those flowers and I still think that way. Ever since that day carnations have been your favourite flower. I begged my parents to let me grow some carnations, the white one specifically. I grew them to give to you. You loved them so much I was so proud of myself. I loved this feeling. Maybe this was the day that started it all.
“Jeno!!” I ran towards you. The park we played in when we were 9 is a nostalgic thing to think about. “Look! Do you like my flowers!” I held out a bouquet of white carnations. “Oh I love these flowers!” You took them from my hands and stared at them. I admired your face while you looked at them. You loved my flowers so much I couldn’t disturb you. “How did you learn to grow them? That’s so cool,” He took one of the flowers out of the bouquet and gave it to me. “I had my mum help me,” You should come back my house and grow flowers with me,” I suggested. You were about to answer but your bestfriend came running over to you. “Jenooooo!” A boy with brown fluffy hair hugged him from behind. “Is this your girlfriend?” He asked. “No, we’re just friends.” You flashed him your cute eye smile. “Well if she’s not your girlfriend I can have these flowers.” He took it off of Jeno but he grabbed it back. “Why don’t you get your own flowers instead.” Jeno checked the flowers to see if they were okay from Jaemin’s rough hands. “Can you grow me some flowers too?” He asked. “Of course,” I answered smiling. “How about you two come over to my house and we can grow flowers together.” I invited them over. “We should go!” Jaemin convinced Jeno to come over and grow some flowers with me. Sometimes I’m glad Jaemin was there and I’m grateful that he was your bestfriend. But in all honesty, I didn’t want him here.
When you and Jaemin came over to my house we headed straight to my backyard. Jaemin kept complimenting the flowers grown in my garden. My mum was there supervising us. You looked at it quietly admiring its beauty. I did the same but at you. While we were staring Jaemin and my mum had gotten seeds out from my shed and we planted them together. You planted more white carnations while I planted heliotropes. You were planting them with Jaemin and I was planting them with my mum. You planted them so gently I thought you were an angel, you do look like one. When I was done planting I got up and you know what happened next. I tripped over the wooden fencing and fell straight into the bag of soil and my leg landed on the metal rake. Jaemin came straight to my side and cleaned me up while you helped my mum clean up the mess I made when I tripped. Jaemin cleaned my face trying his best to get rid of all the soil on my face. There was a lot and we ended up making a mess getting rid of it. I had a massive bruise and scratch on my legs and Jaemin had grabbed a paper towel and cleaned it up while you were just happily chatting to my mum not even seeming the littlest bit concerned. Jaemin was always there though. Why did he notice me and not you. “I managed to get some flowers and make a bouquet.” He grabbed flowers from his pocket. God knows how he did that. He gave them to me I took them but it didn’t feel right. “Thank you Jaemin,” I replied smiling at him. You came back in and you’re parents had come to pick you up. We had a quick good bye before my mum forced me to take a shower. I had fun that day.

When we got into middle school me, you, Jaemin and my bestfriend, Sihyun were all super close. I know people envied our friendship because it was so strong. I heard everything people said about us. During this time I had grasped an understanding of love. A feeling I only linked to you. Despite what people said I loved you, not him. In class when we had a seating plan I wouldn’t stare at the board but at the back of your head. The person next to me, Jaemin would keep trying to distract me from “learning”. “Jaemin, I’m learning I need to pass this test. I’m trying to get into the same high school you’re going too on a scholarship because it’s so expensive.” I explained to him. “You know if you don’t get in, I can always pay for you.” Jaemin suggested. “No, do you know how expensive that school is?” I shut his idea down. “Yea, but I’m super rich so it’s okay. I can pay for anything.” He proudly boasted his money. “Well Mr Rich keep it down, you’re gonna get in trouble with the teacher.” I warned him.
As soon as class ended I had gone straight to you, “Jeno let’s go study in the library,” I grabbed your hand and led him to our school’s library. You didn’t mind since you liked the library and I knew that. Jaemin had finally left us alone as he was hanging out with Sihyun. I liked being alone with you. These moments were rare. Of course we talked to each other alone afterschool online but rarely in person since your schedule was so busy with your dancing and all the other activities you did. That made me admire you so much even when I thought I couldn’t admire you more than I already did. We studied and I taught you everything you didn’t understand. You were stuck on a certain question that even I couldn’t figure out. It took us a long time until I had finally come up with an answer. We finished the rest of the questions easily but when we looked at the answer sheet the question we were stuck on was correct while some of the easy questions were wrong. We laughed it off and started discussing how we might have gotten it wrong. “I didn’t know we had to simplify it.” I commented. “Exactly they should have made it clear we had to do that.” You complained about it. We started a new sheet of question but I chose the harder one. I wasn’t struggling with my questions but I saw you were so I started helping you and explained everything in detail. “You’re so smart!” You told me. “You’re definitely getting the scholarship.” I was flustered at the compliment. “You’re catching up to me I think you could get the scholarship too,” I reassured him. “I really hope I get it. Otherwise I won’t be able to go to the same school as Sihyun.” You said. “Jaemin wants me to go to the school so badly he offered to pay for me.” Our combined dream of getting into that highschool made us study harder until the extrance exam day.
Sihyun had came into the library looking for us. I know she was looking for you though. She liked you, and everyone knew it. Everyone around us always thought you had a thing for her which made me sad. We walked past some red carnations. You stared at them and commented on how I have these flowers in my garden. I did, they were newly grown I had just grown them this year. Sihyun pick up one of the flowers and handed them to you. She grabbed another one and put it in your hair. “Jeno, the flower in your hair looks so adorable!” She gushed over you. I felt like I was third-wheeling. “Yea, I think you really suit flowers.” I had awkwardly complimented you. Both of you didn’t pick up on how awkward I felt so thank god for that. You and Sihyun were both laughing and talking about flowers and occasionally asking me for all the flower facts while I had just admired the flowers and especially the flower in your hair. It was extremely awkward for me here but I acted like I wasn’t phased. I always acted like this anyways so you guys didn’t notice. You both never noticed. You were so comfortable talking to her I actually felt like I wasn’t there and I was just walking by myself. Jaemin had caught up to us and saved me from feeling more awkward than I possibly could. “You seem awkward,” He whispered into my ear. “I am but I don’t wanna disturb them.” I whispered back. I don’t get how he always knew how I was feeling. I ended up just talking to Jaemin the entire time. Actually we ended up splitting off going in different directions but you didn’t realise since you were busy talking to Sihyun. Before we split off I gave Sihyun a wink and she understood it instantly. I do love you but Sihyun is a precious friend and I’d do anything to keep her happy for my happiness. You were also really happy with her too so even though I had really strong feelings for you I let you go with Sihyun. Sometimes I wish I did something. Jaemin was there to cheer me up though. He was always there.
When it was the day of the extrance exam we both went together and sat down next to each other. The exam went on for 2 hours. Of course I had high hopes for myself knowing I’d most likely get in but I worried for you. I noticed how much you were struggling during the exam. I patted you on the back and said you did well. I know you did well, you always try your best. I admire that about you. When the results came in you didn’t get in. I did though. I had gotten the top mark for the entrance exam. It was an amazing feeling but my heart couldn’t help but feel bad for you. All our friends went to you cheering you up instead of congratulating me. Jaemin did though. I guess you were pretty popular in class and everyone just saw me as the girl you hung out with. “Your so smart you got in!” Jaemin celebrated with me. “Yea, but Jeno didn’t get in,” I said. “Now he can’t go to the same school as us.” I told him my worries. “Don’t worry maybe I can think of something.” Jaemin reassured me. “Actually I have an idea.” I told him. “You pay for my tutition and I gave out my scholarship.” I explained to him. “Are you sure? You get special perks with the scholarship?” He asked. “Yeah, plus you offered to pay for me anyways it’s not that bad.” 2 days later you were accepted into the school. You were so happy you celebrated in class and we were all happy for you. That night I received a thank you text from you and a fully paid tutition by the Na family.

In highschool you had finally gotten into your first relationship with Sihyun. Everyone had been rooting for you. It was destined to happened. Of course I was sad. I actually cried about it the moment I got home. I wasn’t rejected in person but I knew I definitely missed my chance with you. Not like I ever had the chance anyways. Jaemin noticed how said I was. He did everything to cheer me up. I told him I was sad because you both stopping hanging out with us as often as we use to. Always on dates. Always told us you were busy. Always kept to yourself. I was tired of it and missed my bestfriends. It took a toll on me knowing I wouldn’t see you as often as I wanted too. Jaemin was also quite sad about it. Seeing me sad and having you cancel plans with him. Eventually me and you stopped being so close. I was still close with Sihyun but I noticed her putting some distance between us. I understood immediately and kept my distance from you. I never once told Sihyun how I was feeling about the both you feeling so distance from me. Jaemin spoke up though. I remember the fallout so vividly. Jaemin and Sihyun never spoke to eachother again after that. Me and you had to split them apart. Both Jaemin and Sihyun kept pulling me to your side telling me to leave the other. For some reason they both never did this to you. It was so stressful I had nightmares about it. “You always keep Jeno to you and its always you! What do you own him?” Jaemin yelled at Sihyun. “He’s my boyfriend and I wanna spend time with him!” Sihyun yelled back. “It’s not my fault he doesn’t wanna hang out with you!” Jaemin was livid. “Yea but that doesn’t mean you have to ignore me and your bestfriend who has been on your side for years now!” He went off. “Your a selfish bitch who doesn’t even let her boyfriend hang out with their closest friends.” Sihyun was so taken aback. “You fucking slut maybe you aren’t just as close anymore and you can’t handle it! Maybe if you weren’t so annoyingly clingly Jeno would wanna hang with you!” Sihyun was about to hit Jaemin but I stepped in and took the hit. “That’s enough both of you,” I split them up. I took Jaemin’s hand and led him away. I had a bruise on me from the hit. “You didn’t have to do that,” I told him. “No, you didn’t have to do that, you got hurt.” He worried for me. “Yea but you would’ve gotten hurt though.” I sat down near the yellow carnations. “These flowers are pretty.” I commented. “Don’t change the subject she deserved to be yelled at, I never liked her anyways.” Jaemin confessed. “Jaemin, it’s not worth yelling at her.” Jeno had called me in that moment and I picked up. “Hello?” I said, “I’m really sorry for that but we can hang out next week…” He offered. “No, Jeno that’s not gonna make things better I think we might need 2 weeks before you try to hang out with Jaemin again. Also I don’t think Sihyun would be very happy if we hung out alone.” I told him with regret in my heart. “It’s okay I understand. We can still hang out in class right?” He asked. “Of course, you’re still my bestfriend.” And I ended the call there. “What did he say?” Jaemin asked. “He wanted to know if we wanted to hang out next week.” I told him. “No, I’m not hanging out with him next week or else Sihyun is gonna claw me alive.” He rejected the offer too. “I already said no,” I said. “Awww you know me so well.” He commented.
Ever since that day Jaemin hung out with a different group of friends. His friends were Jisung, Chenle, Renjun, Haechan and Mark. When Sihyun was busy hanging out with Jeno by herself, Jaemin would come find me and convince me to sit with his friends since he didn’t want me to be lonely. I’m pretty sure everyone knew about the fallout and was convinced me and Jaemin were dating. I think you would be very good friends with Jaemin’s new group. Sadly you never got the chance to meet them since Sihyun had roped into her new group which she never bothered to introduce me to. I don’t think they liked me very much honestly. One day we had the chance to talk in class. It was great because none of Sihyun’s friends were there and we got to talk about how things were. I’m sad our friendship could never be how it was before. We spent our time talking about the past. Like the time we both went to the amusement park together and I spilled my icecream on the ferris wheel and it landed on someone but we finished our icecream before we came down so they wouldn’t suspect it was us and the time we went shopping and you had accidentally shoplifted a bunch of clothes because you didn’t scan them properly and you somehow didn’t get caught. You were always really lucky with these things. It was nice talking to you and I wished it lasted forever but all good things eventually end and it took forever until we got the chance to talk again.
The time waiting was eating me up inside and I so desperately wanted to talk you again but I couldn’t because you were hanging out with Sihyun. Jaemin was at my house at the time so we ended up walking to the warehouse. He dragged me around the place looking for soil but I explained to him I didn’t need any so we ended up looking at seeds. He kept grabbing seeds that couldn’t be grown in the season we were currently in. It’s the thought that counts though. Eventually I grabbed the yellow carnations. Jaemin then dragged me over look at more flowers. “There’s some more yellow carnations” I picked it up. “We should plant these in your garden” He suggested. We walked over to the checkout and bought both the seeds and the flowers. When we got home we headed straight to my backyard “You really like carnations,” He said as he looked around. “Yea, they’re my favourite flowers.” They were ever since the moment I saw you with them thats why. “You only have red and white carnations.” Jaemin looked around my garden. “That’s why I grabbed out the yellow ones.” I put the seeds into the soil. “They also remind me of something.” I muttered. “Remind you of what?” He asked. “You heard me?” He nodded. “Well it reminds me of the day we met and I had carnations that I grew. You were bright like the sun,” I explained. “You remind me of red carnations.” He said and I smiled at him. Red carnations are your favourite. My memory is really good so of course I knew. Red carnations also remind me of you. I happily planted my yellow carnations with a dumb smile. I seriously need to lose this crush.

purple carnation - new beginning
You’re relationship with Sihyun didn’t last after graduation. When we graduated we went to different school. You went to a dance academy to chase your dream of being a dancer and I went to a university that specialised in everything in the medical field with Jaemin. We never saw each other much. I missed you a lot. I’m not sure if Jaemin could tell but it was nice having him around. I did see you that day you were having the dance tournament that really started your career. I was working at the cafe and you were stressed out and I had served you coffee that you ordered. “Hi, Jeno.” I greeted you. “I haven’t seen you in a while,” You said. “How are you?” You asked. “I’m good,” I gave you your coffee. “Are you free to talk?” You asked. “Well, I get off my shift in 10mins, if you can wait then yea.” I had left to go into the back and serve more people while you waited there for me. When I got out you were there waiting for me outside the cafe next to purple carnations. I guess they just followed you everywhere. “How’s Jaemin?” You asked. “He’s well, do you not talk anymore?” I asked. “I guess not, Sihyun really changed my life. I’m gathering it back together now though.” You explained. “I’ve got a dance tournament soon and I’m really nervous since this tournament could make my career.” You held your bag with all your dance gear. “Well I hope you do well,” I said sincerely. It had been so long I forgot how to talk to you. “You wouldn’t mind coming to the tournament to watch with Jaemin, right?” You asked. “Maybe, he might be busy but I can come.” I thought about it. “Yeah, i’ll come tonight.” I went home while you went to your dance studio. I messaged Jaemin about it and he said he couldn’t make it. I’m not sure what happened about between the 2 of you but you should’ve made up by now. I got ready for the dance tournament but I didn’t realise I had to pay for entry. You ended up noticing I didn’t have enough money so you snuck me in as one of your staff. I still think you were smart for that. “Goodluck Jeno,” I cheered you on before you were due on stage. I really wish the best for you.
When you started dancing I felt a wave of emotions. You were beautiful on stage. The admiration I had for you years ago came back seeing you so passionate. I was happy you were on stage doing what you loved most. You were so carefree on the stage it was like a breath of fresh air. The stage was very purple, you were dressed in white with purple carnations all over. They suit you, after that show we ended up talking and walking around all night. We talked about how we use to sneak in conversations while Sihyun’s friends weren’t around it was exhilarating for you. Also those times we would bump into each other at the shops and hang out because we couldn’t in school. It made you realise how toxic your relationship was. Jaemin was in the right to yell at her. After we were done walking around you offered to take me home. I said no, but before you left I told you something. I love you. Before I walked away you kissed me. That’s something I will never forget.

Today we’re getting married. It took so many years but now I’m finally with you. The flowers next to me wrapped up beautifully are pink carnations. The ones you grew with me. I love you so much.

Oh Disneyland Paris sounds fun yeah! Were you and your roommate already close then? I went to Walt Disney's world with my aunt and cousin when I was like 11 but it would've been way more fun if I could've taken my best friend with me for sure. Maybe we can go to the one in Paris now that she lives just 3h away from me! Oh I see, sounds like LA was really fun for you yeah! your roommate didn't mind third wheeling tho? Hahaha
Yeah Canada is beautiful but what I liked about it the most was the massive improvement in quality of life I had compared to where I was living before and just being able to be who I am and people accepting me for it. Not being worried about violence 24/7 felt pretty fucking great too. So yeah I highly recommend living there if you ever get a chance. But I am loving Portugal so far, people are a bit more judgemental here tho but I like that it's easier to travel to a lot of countries I've always wanted to go to. Everywhere you go there are pros and cons tho so sorting out priorities is key. But Toronto is my favourite of all the places I've been, before living there for a year I had already been two times!
Jesus 50 states, sometimes I forget how big the US is. And you can totally do it if you plan it out! After watching Bly Manor tho I really want to go to Vermont especially during autumn season looks really pretty! There's this fic I love (only the sun by prestonarchives) where Dani and Jamie go on a road trip from Vermont to Maine and I did their entire journey on Google maps street view bc I was so obsessed with this one chapter fanfic I had to immerse myself entirety in it hahaha. So now I want to go there irl. Here's the link if you haven't read it before!
https://bit.ly/3BLy4WR
Omg I totally remember reading that on CBML and being a bit confused bc I was like why would she think you can't see the moon from the great wall of China HAHAHA but I thought it was really funny and endearing yeah it's even funnier now that I know you said it irl haha.
Oh so ENFP-T means extraverted, intuitive, feeling and prospecting personality with a bit of turbulence. Which just means you're curious, perceptive, enthusiastic, an excellent communicator, festive and good-natured. On the other hand you can be disorganized, unfucosed, a people pleaser, overcommitted, too optimistic and restless.
I wonder what Jamies and Danis mbti are as well as their zodiac signs 🤔 I think Jamie might be an ISTP-A bc she's definitely an introvert, very practical, stubborn, assertive, layed back and energetic at the same time. And Dani is either an ENFP-T like you or an ESFJ-T with the whole selfless thing going on.
AE already made it canon that Jamie's an aries (and it makes sense) but I can't figure Dani out. I've thought about her being a leo ♌ bc she's generous, passionate, warm-harted and dominant in her own way and THE HAIR haha. But she's got some pisces ♓ vibes going on too...idk. aaand I'm back at it again with the astrology signs haha.
To be fair your recent drunken exp it was dark and at least you didn't think the road sign was a bear or something (don't know what kind of wild animals you've got over there) that you wrestled with and ended up in a ditch and your best friend let you believe that happened for 3 years up until recently haha. 😂 but yeah some things happen for a reason, having life threatening health issues doesn't sound great tho, but I guess it's a good thing it stops you from drinking too much and making dumb decisions. And hey maybe I secretly want that to happen again idk maybe moving countries is not exciting enough, I have to go out and make a complete drunken fool out of myself in a completely foreign place hahaha. I guess that did kinda happen last month when my best friend came to visit me from Spain and we got drunk on wine, I got lost on the way back home and it was way past curfew. 🤔 shit I'm 29 will I ever learn...
Episode 9 is 😢😍🥰😰😭🤬☠️ just the worst roller-coaster I didn't even know I was on. Haha I was more pissed off than heartbroken the first time I watched it ngl.
Well then maybe the way you do accents is friendly and funny so people can't really get mad at you haha. Like Dani! Oh so that's called a Geordie accent! I see, it's really really cool. AE said Jamie is from Lancashire but that's a whole county isn't it? Idk if there's a specific accent to this region. Knowing you speak kinda like Jamie is something else tho, I think if anyone who spoke like her ever talked to me irl I wouldn't be able to pay attention to what they were saying 😂 just the accent haha.
Oh so you already have 4k something words for it nice. I'm kinda starting to feel an obsession with this medieval AU growing in me, I made a Pinterest board just for it ngl hahaha but I'm still resisting creating anything for it, I did a face study yesterday for Dani and Jamie to see if I finally pick up the idea and just do it but my brain was still like "I don't want to do this rn" and was just being a little bitch about it so I'll just let it cook for longer see if we can reach an agreement eventually (if ever) haha.
Glad to hear you had a good weekend! Even if it left you feeling exhausted in the end. And yeah it makes sense for you to say you don't have favourites haha! Have a great week Colour, take care! 👋✨
Yeah me and my roommate have been friends since we were like 14 so when we went to Disney Land we asked if we could be roomed together because we've been best friends for that long now... been best friends since school and now we live together. She's seen me at my best, my worst, has seen me in all my stages in life and has been there for a lot of the rough stuff I've been through and I've been there for all the stuff she's been through!! Nah she didn't mind at all we had some moments where me and my ex would just go and be a couple and have dates but my ex didn't want me travelling that far alone so invited my roommate too because she didn't like the thought of me flying 11hours alone or being in airports alone so my roommate came with me and we had a great time Awwh good I'm glad it was such a nice place and that you didn't worry about violence all the time but I'm so sorry you ever had to worry about that anyway that can't be easy. I would honestly love to live in Canada I really hope I get chance one day... I'm glad you're loving Portugal but sorry people are judgemental there but I am glad it's easy for you to travel around to other places... oh yeah every place has it's pros and cons I mean England has some pros but it sure has a lot of cons too so I know all about that Yeah America is SO big but I do want to get around all 50 states at some point and I am stubborn enough and determined enough to make it happen eventually even if I don't get around them all until I'm like 70 I'll make it happen haha!! No I haven't read that fic but it sounds amazing so I'll definitely check it out thank you for sending me the link Yeah... that really happened to me and it was just a dumb moment where I had this momentary lapse of knowledge in my brain and now I look back at that question and I'm just like... "you idiot" and this is why people are shocked when I get questions in quizzes right because I have said some really dumb stuff but I'm glad people found it funny and endearing... and I'm glad it makes it better to know I really said that haha Oooo I didn't know that, I like that and I think it's definitely fitting for me!! I think from what you've said about what ENFP-T means Dani could easily be that too and I don't know anything about the other one but I will take your word for it matching Dani because you know way more about this stuff than I do. I have no idea for Jamie though. And with zodiac signs I love that Amelia looked at Jamie and thought she was an Aries, as for Dani I have NO idea what her zodiac would be... in CBML she's a Leo but in MoU with what I have planned for her birthday she'd be a virgo but I don't know anything about zodiacs... all I know is all the pieces I've ever met have been the opposite of what Dani is so maybe that has something to do with their whole charts but I know a lot of other people always make her a Pieces and I trust what other people say about zodiacs more than what I know about them because I really know NOTHING about them haha Nah I knew it was a road sign because of how heavy and hard it was- nah we have no bears where I live... I don't think we have many dangerous animals where I live... got a couple of badgers that can be pretty aggressive but that's about it we don't have much that is scary here or at least not in the little part of England I live. Having life threatening health issues has been hard and since having my spleen removed in January (that was the surgery I needed to try and fix the issue I had) things are even harder now because I have to take antibiotics for the rest of my life to stop me getting any infections because if I ever get a chest infection now or a really bad cold it can be really dangerous but I take it all in my stride and not drinking is just a way to make sure the antibiotics actually work properly and to make sure nothing happens to me... and like you said, means I don't do anything dumb too... haha drunken stories are the best I have been lost a few times when I've been drunk... and I don't think you do learn, I have siblings that are
like 40 and still do dumb shit... I know at 27 I am still doing dumb shit too I don't think I'll ever learn haha 😂 Its such an emotional roller coaster and honestly I was just devastated the first time I watched it... no TV show or movie has ever made me cry the way Bly Manor did when I first saw it and it still makes me cry now. I can cry just thinking about that last episode. I definitely mean it in a friendly way so I hope it comes across like that. Yeah the accent in Billy Elliot is a Geordie accent and its my favourite accent there are other accents around the north that are called different things. Yeah Lancashire is a county and again in Lancashire there are loads of different accents I can't really pinpoint Jamie's down to a city I just know it's Northern. I'm from Yorkshire but don't have a strong Yorkshire accent I just have a Northern accent, like people never believe I'm from the place I'm from because I don't sound like I am but you can definitely tell I'm northern... honestly there are so many accents in England... you can drive for two hours in any direction in England and the accent will change like two times at least it's insane... see a lot of people say that but I am not a HUGE fan of the northern accent and I think it's because I grew up there. I much prefer Dani's accent to Jamie's but like I said to me, Jamie just talks normal there is no accent really haha Yeah 4k words for it but it's all jumbled up it's not like a chronological story yet it's just all over the place haha but I hope I can get it all structured properly soon!! Awwh good I'm glad you're already interested in this medieval AU!! That makes sense you're resisting creating for it but I think it's so cool you did a face study for Dani and Jamie even if you didn't wanna finish it I think letting things cook for a while is always a good idea if you're not in the right headspace right away I had such a good weekend but I am so tired and today I had a busy day too celebrating my roommate's boyfriend's birthday so I've had so many days that have been so busy and right now I am just really to sleep haha!! Yeah definitely don't have favourites but I have spent more time with one of my nieces than the others simply because I always look after her if her mum and dad are working and I'm not... like until I start this new job I am looking after her for an hour every day after school while she waits for her mum and dad to finish work but I don't have favourites haha!! Thank you so much I hope you had a great weekend and that you have a great week too!!

Note
this is just a small rant but 👉👈 you seem really nice so!! here we go!! is it bad to get disappointed when some of my posts don't do as well as others? im a writer for another fandom and i love writing longer fics. i posted one recently but it flopped (around 4k+ words), and i only really get notifications for my smaller writings. i know word count doesn't equal quality but i just get self conscious after all the effort i put into them. anyways, i love your blog sm!! could i be 🐣✨ anon?
My inbox is always open- also for rants!! 💖 Feel free to talk about me about everything!!
So: I know that feeling, and it’s okay to feel that way.
It‘s not bad to want recognition for your fics- You put a lot of time and effort in them, and it always makes a writer happy to see that other people enjoyed it.
But reality is that writers don‘t often get the recognition they deserve- and I can understand everyone who says that they are sad about that. And it feels even worse if something you put a lot of effort in flops, when you feel like it’s just not good enough, even though I can assure you: it is. It’s good, and you did not waste your time with it.
I learned to deal with it, like, I reached a point where I don‘t care that much about likes and stuff. I write because it’s fun, and even if only one person reads it and leaves a like- well then that’s enough reason for me to keep posting. Ngl, I think i would probably still post, even if no one read it haha And I know that everyone always says it, but it’s true: the amount of likes and reblogs does not show how good a fic is. I‘ve seen fics with thousands of likes that just didn‘t catch me, and incredibly amazing fics that had like 20 notes. So you might not get many notes, but I can assure you that you still have a lot of people who are thankful for you effort, and enjoy reading your fics! So don’t sweat it, write again and again, and I’m sure that you will get the recognition you deserve soon!
That’s how I see it, I hope this might make you feel a bit better 🥺 and btw- I feel like hc‘s often get more notes than scenarios, it’s the same on my blog, so I’d say it’s kinda normal- not always ofc, but it’s just a thing that I’ve seen on many blogs
But don‘t worry, I’m sure that your works are amazing! You put your time and effort in them, you got the feels while you wrote it, you saw the scenes before your eyes- I’m sure that your readers also felt that while reading them.
May I ask what fandom? 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 and you know- I‘d be happy to read something from you someday! When you‘re comfortable enough, you can tag me, or just dm me!! 💖💖
And KYA!!! CRITICAL HIT, AN EMOJI ANON!! 💖💖
🐣✨- sparkling and cute 😭😭💖 I wanna protect you so bad omg 😫😫💖
Sooo- initial question here: fav character(s) from haikyuu? 💖💖
THANK YOU SO MUCH, SWEETIE!! 💖💖
LOVE YOU, AND PLS STAY HYDRATED!! 💖💖

ngl it was supposed to be prinxiety with more drama, but like have you met me and my need for anxceit? Also, maybe Roman has suffered enough lately. I had rolled dice for some prompts but used the concepts and abandoned the phrases completely so i didn’t bother including them, just what I was originally interested in doing. Anyway then there was 4k of gay that nearly got 18+. my writing demon went ham. I left Roman’s creative passion vague so he could be more widely relatable.
Roman sighed and tapped the back of his pencil to the paper laying blank on his desk. He knew he should be productive with this rare free time. But everything he had done lately was met with criticism, or nobody had looked at it, or it was just so bad he couldn’t even bring himself to post it. This was supposed to be what he enjoyed doing. But the blank page was daunting. It made fun of him, even. It reminded him that he failed at what he loved so badly that he could no longer find solace in it. It used to be his escape. An empty page was just an opportunity, a blessing, a wish. But now it was his tormentor.
He leaned back in his chair. He didn’t feel like trying anymore. Maybe dreams are stupid. He already had a job that paid the bills. It wasn’t what he wanted to do, but he didn’t want to do this anymore, either. Maybe he was stupid for trying. Too stubborn to stop. Too dense to realize the support he got what felt like so long ago was just placating nonsense and people humoring him. Roman ran his hand through his hair in frustration and dropped his pencil. There was no point in trying if it wasn’t purposeful and didn’t pay the bills. It was just him wasting his time. He needed to find something else to do with his free evening, then. Maybe a new hobby. But he didn’t feel like doing anything productive at all. He may as well get in touch with the person he knew could teach him to be chill the most and see if voi was busy. Roman sent off the text and got up from his desk to go put on something more comfortable. If he would hang out with void, he couldn’t wear his work clothes and pick up any smells.
Roman changed into some old work out clothes- a soft shirt and some track pants. Easy to wash and also even if voi didn’t want to hang out he could just be a comfortable piece of trash in his own apartment. Roman wandered into his kitchen and checked the fridge, more out of boredom than any hunger or desire. He opted to drink some orange juice out of the carton. As he twisted the top back on he got an alert on his phone. Roman pulled it out of his pants pocket and smiled. Great, he was glad he didn’t have to be a singular piece of trash twiddling his thumbs on the couch alone and going to a worsening place every minute. If anybody knew how to forget your problems, voi did.
“Ro!” Virgil called brightly while Roman stepped into the front door. “It’s been, like, ages,” Virgil leaned back on to the couch with a goofy smile.
“I saw you last week,” Roman laughed, flopping down on the couch next to Virgil.
“Time isn’t real, dude, don’t lie to me,” Virgil fake scowled and pushed Roman lightly on the shoulder. “How’s it been?” Virgil kicked back on the couch and threw voids legs up over Roman’s lap.
   “Bad,” Roman shrugged.
“Oh, mood,” Virgil nodded. “What’s bad?”
“I’m shit at everything I do and my dreams are dead,” Roman threw up his arms in defeat, shaking his head dramatically.
“Holy shit, we’re so vibing right now,” Virgil laughed as voi pointed voids finger between the pair of them. “But you’re not shit, I love the stuff you do,” Virgil objected, looking slightly confused.
“That’s nice and all, but one person isn’t exactly a fanbase make,” Roman huffed. Virgil furrowed his eyebrows at him.
“You just want to feel like shit, then, huh? I get that,” Virgil nodded after a pause. “You wanna be a piece of shit with me?” Voi asked casually and crossed voids arms behind voids head.
“How do you mean?” Roman asked, looking at Virgil in confusion.
“You know, get stoned and pretend life doesn’t suck like I always do,” Virgil shrugged.
“I refuse to believe you aren’t high already, you’re off work,” Roman said airily and flipped his hand.
“Eh, the buzz is wearing off,” Virgil lolled voids head to the side. “Jan! Get the bong!” Virgil called across their apartment humorously.
A muffled “You suck!” came through one of the bedroom doors. Virgil laughed at his reaction. Roman didn’t really get why they liked to rile each other up, but he thought they were cute together, nonetheless.
“Shit, I dunno if we have munchies,” Virgil muttered after voids laughter died down.
“I’ll be fine,” Roman rolled his eyes. He didn’t need anything.
“No, no, if we’re gonna get you fucked up we’re gonna do it proper,” Virgil shook voids head. “Jan! Going to the corner store! Text me what you want!” Virgil called out again.
“Fuck you!” Came from the bedroom again, though it was possibly the most affectionate ‘fuck you’ he’s ever heard. Roman raised his eyebrows, impressed.
“God, he’s such a sweetheart,” Virgil laughed and pulled voids legs off of Roman. “You wanna have a pity party on the couch or you wanna come with me, lover boy?” Virgil winked and Roman’s ears heated slightly. “Speaking of, is kissing on or off the table tonight?” Virgil leaned down and whispered into Roman’s ear and his entire face grew hot.
“On. I’ll come with you,” Roman said weakly. Virgil was good at riling him up too, honestly.
“I’m more into enthusiastic consent, Ro. If you don’t wanna make out you don’t gotta. We can watch Adventure Time or something. Make nachos and forget about them. You know, all that classic burnout shit,” Virgil laughed and pulled Roman off the couch.
“No, I want to. You and Janus are sweet and I like hanging out. It’ll be a pleasurable distraction,” Roman said, trying to sound more into it. He was just feeling down and had trouble sounding enthusiastic, even if he was interested in mixing it up. He hadn’t spent intimate time with anyone in a long time and probably needed some contact.
“No, you’ve gotten enough half-assed bullshit lately, we’re not going to be a distraction, it’s going to be an event. If we make out I’m going all out. Some fuck-tunes and everything. Red wine. Chocolates,” Virgil offered temptingly into Roman’s ear. He had to admit the offer was tempting. “Maybe a massage, even,” Virgil winked and grabbed voids wallet and a taser out of a bowl near the door.
“Suddenly feel like spoiling me tonight?” Roman asked, feeling kind of confused at the sudden proposition. He would have been fine with making out and eating some chips. Hell, he was fine with just watching TV or something together, originally. He just didn’t want to sit home alone without anything to do.
“Eh. You just look like you could use something nice, and you like that romance stuff. You actually reached out to me first and told me outright that things sucked instead of dancing around it. That means you feel like as much of a pathetic heap as me and need a break,” Virgil shrugged and wrapped voids arm around Roman’s waist as they left the apartment.
“I contact you to hang out!” Roman said defensively. Though it probably had been a while. It is usually Virgil or Janus messaging him first since Roman tried to spend his free time creating. It wasn’t because he didn’t like them, though he clearly gave them, or at least Virgil the wrong impression because of it. Roman slid his hands into his pockets awkwardly.
“Sure you do,” Virgil drawled derisively after staring him down. “Look, I know you don’t feel the same way. I’m not bothered,” Virgil shrugged, though there was something about voids tone that made Roman have trouble believing void. “I still get to kiss you sometimes and Jan continues to tolerate me so it’s not like I’m forever alone or anything,”
“I do like kissing you,” Roman muttered. “I just… I don't know,” Roman trailed off. He really didn’t know. Maybe he just wasn’t that into the casual thing? He did enjoy the casual thing. But Roman was always a romantic at heart and always hoped a prince charming would come sweep him off his feet. There was no reason Virgil and Janus couldn’t be that prince charming, but they’d never done anything that made Roman swoon. They usually snarked at movies and complained about work.
“Yikes, no need to rub it in. I know I’m a piece of shit who isn’t good enough. I’m too scared of life, so I ducked out ages ago. You deserve someone who isn’t always stoned and stuff like that,” Virgil shrugged. Roman didn’t agree with getting high as soon as one got off work, but he never blamed Virgil for wanting to, either. Roman had been spectacularly bad at communicating that, apparently. Good thing it was piece of shit hours, because he somehow felt worse. He didn’t think that was possible.
“I don’t think you are piece of shit, and I’ve certainly never said it, either. And I do like you,” Roman sighed and shook his head at Virgil. Virgil continued to look nonplussed.
“I don’t need to hear you say it to know it. Just like how I disagreed about the quality of your work and you didn’t believe me. There’s a monster in our fuckin’ heads and it’s bigger and louder than all of us. So instead of being all weird, we can just get stoned to shut it up and eat some truffles. Butterscotch body oil. Whatever piece of shit wine we can get at the corner store,” Virgil pulled Roman closed as they walked down the street.
“That sounds… pretty awesome,” Roman said, feeling a little more hopeful. “I really don’t think you’re a piece of shit,” Roman offered again. He didn’t like leaving things where they were, despite his interest.
“Can it, my liege. First rule of piece of shit hours is we don’t refute being pieces of shit. Sometimes you gotta be a piece of shit. The right now the difference between you and me is that tomorrow I’ll still be one,” Virgil said firmly. Roman shook his head but decided not to protest further. Virgil was clearly still stoned enough to not mind making a scene in public, but voi would have a panic attack about it when voi finally came down if Roman let it escalate. Voi didn’t like going out or being affectionate in public wouldn’t be within five feet of Roman without being at least a little high.
Virgil checked voids phone for the things Janus wanted as they entered the corner store. Voi grabbed a wipe to disinfect the handbasket before heading into the snack aisle. Roman made a beeline to the little selection of wines, determined to find something halfway decent. He eyeballed the cooler for any brands he recognized. It was mostly ones he recognized as garbage wines. He did manage to find two bottles of red that were passably drinkable, and the price wasn’t bad. Virgil came up with the handbasket full of chocolates, chips, some candy, and a thing of orange juice.
“Do you still subscribe to that theory that OJ makes the high better?” Roman asked, eyeballing the basket as he carried the wine bottles up to the front of the store.
“I mean, it’s a great excuse to get some nutrients in my body,” Virgil laughed. Roman really couldn’t argue with that. He pulled the juice out of the basket to pay for that along with the wines, and Virgil paid for all the snacks so they could split the costs.
Roman still felt tense walking back, even though he knew there wasn’t really anything to be tense about. Other than the fact that maybe Virgil was assuming the worst about their friendship, but voi didn’t want to listen to any protests. Virgil had described a really amazing evening. They had all the supplies in hand. Maybe that was just part of piece of shit hours. Roman's usual confidence and glitter were gone tonight. Virgil would probably know though, as someone who has a terrible opinion of voidself.
“Is still feeling like shit even though I’m objectively about to have a good time a part of piece of shit hours?” Roman laughed awkwardly as he walked along.
“Oh, definitely. That’s why the need for weed. And the good shit and not whatever you can get for twenty bucks at the other corner,” Virgil motioned with his head to an unlit abandoned and boarded up bank across the way. Roman shuddered and picked up the pace. Virgil and Janus didn't exactly live in the best neighborhood.
Janus was sitting with his legs primly crossed on the couch when they got back with their haul. He gave them a breezy smile when they entered, waving slightly and looking pleased.
“Hey, Jan,” Roman waved with his free hand and went to go put the drinks in the fridge.
“Evening, darling,” Janus smiled. “I’ve got a hit loaded up for you. Guests first,” Janus said, motioning to the bong on the coffee table.
“Thanks. Are you going to join us?” Roman asked hopefully.
“If you’ll have me,” Janus smirked knowingly. He probably knew Roman wanted him there and was just being polite. Virgil dropped everything on the counter unsurreptitiously and bent over the back of the couch to give Janus a kiss hello.
“I’d love to have you,” Roman smiled flirtatiously and bent over the other side to kiss Janus’s cheek after Virgil turned back around to the counter. Janus passed over the bong and lit it for Roman to take a hit while Virgil went into the kitchen to chug some orange juice. Roman did his best, but he wasn’t exactly practiced and ended up coughing. Janus snickered at him and took a hit while Roman went to go get a glass of water for his extremely raw throat, passing Virgil to get the water filter in the fridge. Orange juice would just burn his throat more right now. He grabbed a glass out of the cabinet and had to down two full cups to soothe his throat. Virgil was pulling like a champ on the couch when he came back.
“You want to give it another shot, Roman, or wait it out?” Janus asked, leaning back to look up at Roman.
“I’ll try again,” Roman shrugged and sat down between the two. Virgil passed off the bong and held the lighter for him while he took another hit. He took a smaller hit this time, just in case. He’d stay the night like he always did when he joined them, so he wasn’t worried about driving, but he didn’t need to melt his brain or anything. Virgil took it back and finished the hit for voids ridiculous tolerance before putting the bong on the coffee table and taking out the empty bowl.
“So what snacks did you get?” Janus asked, putting his arm around the back of the couch behind Roman.
“Chips, your gummy snakes, truffles,” Virgil exhaled a puff of smoke. “They’re probably not the best ones, but I’m lookin’ forward to the truffles,” Voi smirked lazily and leaned against Roman. Roman could already feel his brain starting to slow down as he stared at the wall ahead of him. Thank goodness it was hard to take too much. Virgil and Janus would make sure he’d be safe if he got too weird. Roman leaned against Virgil took a deep breath. “Bong works fast, huh?” Virgil chuckled and Roman realized he was pressing into Virgil and playing with his hoodie strings.
“Yeah,” Roman muttered. “Thanks. Monster’s quiet,” Roman said lazily and curled more into Virgil.
“I’ll grab the wine,” Janus volunteered, grabbing Roman’s free hand and dusting his knuckles with a kiss before getting up.
“So what do you think, my liege? You still want that massage?” Virgil asked silkily.
“I like it when you call me that, even when it's sarcastic,” Roman muttered and closed his eyes. “Yes, please,” Roman smiled at Virgil, and it was assuredly a doofy smile with how he was feeling. Virgil smirked and sat up straighter before pushing Roman over on the couch. Roman landed with a soft thud and laughed before sitting back up to take off his shirt and lie down. The couch was old and beat to shit, but honestly it was so unreasonably comfortable he could sleep on it. Roman settled in while Virgil came back.
“It definitely needs to breathe,” Janus said, coming back into the living room with a few wine glasses and the open bottle. “Not the worst gas station swill I’ve ever drank, though,” He chuckled.
“You’re welcome,” Roman smirked smugly. Virgil leaned in to kiss Janus before he cracked open the bottle of body oil and the butterscotch smell hit Roman’s nose right away.
“Holy shit, that smells good. Tell me you picked out butterscotches at the store,” Roman asked desperately, because that smell made him want to eat one right away.
“I had to. I mean it’s technically edible body oil, but drinking it isn’t the best idea and it smells too delicious,” Virgil said blithely.
“Voi speaks from experience, of course,” Janus snickered.
“Oh, shut up,” Virgil stuck voids tongue out and turned on some music. It was some smooth R&B as prophesied. Virgil sat on Roman’s butt and poured out some oil in his hand and heated it up between his palms before moving in a wide motion across Roman’s entire back. Roman melted completely and garbled out some nonsense words as Virgil started massaging him. Janus sat on the floor in front of Roman and unwrapped a butterscotch slowly, then popped it in Roman’s mouth.
“You’re going to kill me,” Roman moaned and sucked on the candy appreciatively while getting a back massage.
“Sound like fun,” Janus smirked and slowly slipped a butterscotch into his own mouth, keeping a smoldering eye contact with Roman that set his face on fire. Janus looked amused by the reaction, though.
“It’s all part of our evil schemes,” Virgil leaned down and whispered in Roman’s ear. Roman got goosebumps across his skin.
“Whatever it is, I completely agree. I’m yours,” Roman sighed pleasurably, closing his eyes and basking in the warmth of Virgil’s hands all over his back.
“That was easy,” Janus chuckled. “Butterscotch kiss?” He asked and leaned close to Roman’s face. Roman nodded lightly and Janus planted a tender kiss on his lips before moving in for a deeper kiss. If Roman’s brain had absolutely any functionality left in it, Janus’s sugary kiss completely removed all of it.
“Don’t get him too worked up or we can’t be all romantic and shit in the candlelight,” Virgil chided and worked on Roman’s shoulders.
“I don’t care,” Roman murmured against Janus’s lips when he pulled away.
“Too bad,” Virgil hissed quietly against his ear and caused another fresh wave of goosebumps. Janus got up and lit the candles on the table with the lighter from earlier and switched off the living room light. Virgil massaged Roman’s back for a few more minutes in the dim light and Roman relaxed deeper than he felt like he had in years. “Feeling any better?” Virgil asked, slowly sliding his hands back down Roman’s back to sit back.
“Leagues. Oceans. Lightyears,” Roman said appreciatively. “You’re an angel in black. A siren to my doom, that I will happily crash my ship into the jaunty rocks for,” Roman cooed. Virgil laughed and climbed off of Roman. Voi helped him sit up on the couch.
“You’re so weird, beautiful,” Virgil purred and reached up for Roman’s face. Roman leaned into Virgil’s palm and let himself be drawn closer for a tender kiss that felt like fireworks in his chest.
“After the massage and the kisses I’m not sure I even needed the weed,” Roman said softly as Virgil pulled away. Janus sat on the couch next to Roman and pressed the now filled wine glass into Roman’s hand before passing one to Virgil as well.
“Nonsense, then how would you appreciate this cheap chocolate?” Janus asked lightly, pulling at the edges of the wrapper on a truffle and pressing it to his lower lip before pushing it into his mouth. Roman moaned with delight. It was much more delicious than it had any right to being for the cost.
“I concede,” Roman chuckled as the last bit melted on his tongue. Janus held a truffle in his teeth and Virgil tittered before leaning in and stealing a kiss to take the truffle. The kissing right next to Roman’s face was surprisingly intense to watch, and he had to sip his wine just to keep from overheating.
“So, darling, overworking yourself, or under-appreciated?” Janus leaned against Roman on one side and Virgil came in on the other. Cuddles when you are completely relaxed and stoned are otherworldly. He took another sip of wine that was more decent than he remembered. Though, maybe that was also the weed.
“Both, maybe? I don’t know. Under-appreciated makes it sound like I’m being a brat or something. I don’t feel like I am being bratty. It’s just so hard to get validation in creative fields and I feel like I’m sick of trying. I’m not throwing a fit or anything, just tired of the effort with no return,” Roman huffed slightly, but he didn’t feel like he was capable of being upset right now. Not while sandwiched between two cute people who were dead-set on spoiling him.
“There’s nothing bratty about feeling under-appreciated,” Janus kissed Roman’s temple.
“Thanks,” Roman muttered and sipped his wine again. Virgil basically slithered up under his arm to steal another kiss. The three of them enjoyed another truffle as they worked on their wine in the candlelight.
“You know what’s fun?” Virgil smiled mischievously as voi put a butterscotch in voids mouth.
“Hmm?” Roman hummed curiously and looked to Virgil. Virgil came in and kissed him deeply, and by the time they both came up for air, Roman had the butterscotch melting in his mouth.
“That,” Virgil smirked. Roman smiled and pecked Virgil’s forehead as he enjoyed the gifted candy. They laid closely together and sipped their wine in the candlelight, and Roman struggled to find anything bad in the entire world while enveloped in their warmth.
“You know darling, if you want to feel more appreciated we can do this more often,” Janus murmured gently as he handed Roman another truffle to delight in. Roman plucked it out of Janus’s fingers with his teeth and smirked to Janus, who raised his eyebrow in interest.
“Jan,” Virgil groaned and shot Janus a warning look.
“What?” Janus asked, sounding every hint of innocent that he probably was not. Roman laughed as he watched them.
“I mean it can’t be spoiling me every time, that’s unfair,” Roman shook his head humorously.
“You’re welcome to give me a massage and tell me I’m pretty, I won’t stop you,” Janus smirked and reached around to hug Roman around the waist. Roman leaned into it and pressed his head against Janus’s neck happily.
“Jan, stop it,” Virgil pouted and crossed voids arms. Roman looked up with a quizzical face. He wasn’t sure what Virgil was objecting to.
“I’m just saying,” Janus shrugged and kissed Roman’s ear. A shiver went up his spine and discombobulated him momentarily.
“You know he doesn’t- never mind,” Virgil huffed and leaned away from Roman, looking upset.
“I don’t what, Virgil?” Roman asked and pulled Virgil back to kiss voids hair. Voi flushed slightly and downed the rest of voids glass of wine.
“You don’t like us like that,” Virgil muttered quietly. Roman handed off his glass of wine to Janus, who released Roman’s waist. Roman pulled Virgil in for a kiss; one that he tried his damnest to communicate his feelings with since he was clearly failing with words. He ran his hand through Virgil’s hair and slid under voids shirt. Virgil returned the passion just as amorously after a moment of hesitation. Voids hands glided across Roman’s back affectionately while they kissed. Roman slid down to Virgil’s neck and voi moaned softly as Roman kissed and nipped at it. Virgil looked absolutely dazed when Roman came back up with a smug smile.
“I wanted to be swept off my feet. But you’ve left me in orbit and I don’t plan on coming down,” Roman said and softly held Virgil’s face, looking into voids eyes affectionately.
“Ro, I’m too stoned to follow your wordy nonsense, what in the world are you saying?” Virgil furrowed voids eyebrows.
“I’m saying let’s never stop. Piece of shit hours are over because you took me out of the gutter and launched me over the moon. When I wake up and leave tomorrow, I come back and take both of you on a date to pay you two back for tonight. And I show you you’re not a piece of shit still in the light of day. And then I ask you both out when I’m not stoned because you’d never believe me while I was, which is good of you,” Roman leaned in to kiss Virgil on voids forehead again, as tenderly as he could.
“You’re right, I wouldn’t,” Virgil looked to Roman suspiciously when he pulled back.
“Well, whether or not you believe me, we intended to have fun tonight. And I believe I owe Janus a kiss if you would like to join me,” Roman raised his eyebrow and pulled Virgil close in temptation.
“You do,” Janus purred and leaned past Roman’s shoulder to kiss Virgil’s head before planting a kiss on the nape of Roman’s neck. Virgil smiled up to the pair of them hopefully and got up to come around behind Janus and wrapped voids arms around Janus’s chest before kissing the side of his neck. Roman turned around and ran his thumb along Janus’s jaw before leaning in, intending to kiss Janus so hard he’d look just as dazed as Virgil did.

A/N: I found this quite tricky to write ngl: I didn't really know what to do for a good storyline at first and I also found is super difficult to imagine Jeongin in a gang I mean can you bloody blame me he is a child! BUT I absolutely adored writing it, I’m quite proud of myself for writing over 4k words hehe.. I hope you enjoy it!
Also, just an FYI, I intended to make the base the warehouse where the boys did their photoshoot for the I am NOT album, which connected to the ‘concrete building’ which is meant to be where they filmed Hellevator. Sorry if it’s confusing ^^’
MASTERLIST
You walked through the dark street, wrapping your leather coat around you even tighter. Why did I have to miss the stupid bus, you thought bitterly. You’d finished school late, after deciding to study for longer. But you’d forgotten to check the time, and so you’d found yourself sprinting to the bus stop, only to see it disappear in the distance, forcing you to trudge home at night, through a part of your home with a dark reputation.
You knew this was a bad idea. You knew it could be dangerous at this hour. But you weren’t afraid.
You kept your keys trapped in your fist, gripping one of them between your middle finger and fourth finger.
As you walked steadily in the direction of your home, you heard movement behind you. Your shoulders tensed, and instinctual fear burst through you, dialing all of your senses up to maximum. You kept your steady pace, refusing to look behind you, letting any sound from the deserted street tell you anything of what surrounded you.
Suddenly you heard rushed steps coming towards you. You spun around, slightly crouched, braced for whatever was going to hit you.
You were shocked when a young boy collided with you, grabbing your jacket sleeve and tugging you with him. You tried to shove him off, but he shook you, his eyes wild.
“We need to hide”, he hissed desperately. “Now”.
You let him pull you along the street, and rush into a side-alley. You both stood there, unmoving, the boy seeming to wait for something. You stayed quiet and waited as well. You waited. And waited. Nothing happened. You pushed the boy away from you, suddenly becoming very defensive.
“What do you think you’re doing?”, you snarled at him. He backed away from you, his hands held up.
“I’m not doing anything! I just need to hide. I’m helping you too, you know”. You cocked an eyebrow as he continued. “Some guys from a gang are chasing me, they would have hurt you if they saw you as well”.
You scoffed. “A gang? Really? And what, you knew they were a gang, because you’re in one too?”, you finished sarcastically. He looked at you, silent.
You started studying his features, wondering what on earth he was doing out so late at night. He had black, straight hair that stuck up at peculiar angles, as if he’d been thrown through a small hurricane. His pretty but fearful eyes still held a childish shine to them. He can’t be over eighteen years old. He had a small build, but looked lithe and agile, ready to spring away from you if you tried to hurt him. He didn’t look like he could ever be part of a gang.
Suddenly you heard voices from the main road. The two of you flattened yourselves against the wall, as four men sprinted past the alleyway. You held your breath until the voices had faded before carefully making your way out of the tiny passage.
The boy grabbed your shoulder and yanked you back. Before you could protest, he made a sign for you to stay quiet. “There were six men chasing me”, he breathed. “Wait here...”
He tiptoed to the corner of the alley, and slowly peaked out into the open. Before you could even gasp, he was snatched by the collar and thrown out onto the street with a yelp.
From your hiding place, you saw the four men from before join the other two, as they pushed the boy around, jeering and laughing cruelly. Before the kid could even regain any balance, one of the men punched him in the jaw, knocking him back towards another man who hit him just as hard in the temple.
You felt like you wanted to throw up. You couldn’t let them hurt this boy. There was no way you were running away from this.
With an angry cry, you flung yourself at one of the men, and threw a punch at him with all your might. You heard a satisfying smack as the man fell back, yelling. Another came towards you, but was quickly tackled by the young boy, who had used the minor distraction to his advantage. You jumped here and there, staying light in your feet, keeping out of reach of the other men. You’d lost the element of surprise, now there wasn’t a good chance of winning. You were decent at fighting, at best, but simple science showed that you’d never be able to knock these guys out.
You leaped away from one of the males as he tried to rush you, quickly flying forward again to punch him with all of your strength. Suddenly one of them came at you from your right. You saw their arm swing towards you and you felt your cheek light up with pain as his hand collided with you. You stumbled back, only to be kicked in the gut, making you slam onto the ground, winded.
You’re vision went out of focus only for a second, but when you could see again, you saw the boy being held tightly by his neck, and one of the men walking over to you, holding a knife.
Shit... you closed your eyes. At least I die protecting someone. That’s not the worst way to go...
Suddenly, there was a pained yelp and a loud thud in front of you. You opened one eye to see another tall boy standing in front of you. You stared. The man who had fallen had a hand over his face, which was covered in blood. The now bloody knife that he had been holding was now held delicately in the steady hand of your savior. He turned to you and grinned.
“Hey! It looks like you and Jeonginnie need some help, huh?” You kept staring at him, not believing that someone could actually smile over something like this.
Then seven other young boys, all yipping and catcalling, appeared out of nowhere, surrounding the six attackers.
One of them stepped forward, and placed his foot over the knee of the bleeding man. This last one whimpered. “Alright, listen up!”, he said, his voice full of authority. “This one here already looks a little beaten up. Now, we don’t want anything worse to happen, do we?” He put his weight on the foot rested on the man’s knee, making him cry out. It must be broken. “Bad enough you hurt our youngest brother”, the guy continued. “But you also had to go and hit an innocent bystander. Now was that nice?” He slammed his foot onto the knee of the man, who screamed in agony.
“Yeah, who beats up a helpless citizen?”, called a shorter boy, smirking. He may have been small, but he looked imposing and downright testifying next to the taller men.
“We didn’t go after the other kid first”, growled one guy. “We—“ he got cut off from a blow from a blond kid.
“Who asked you?”, the boy yelled, his voice way deeper than you could have expected. “Keep your mouth shut, or Jisung will have to sew it shut for you”. You felt your stomach writhe at the thought.
“What Felix said”, chuckled the leader. “So, are you gonna run on home, or are you gonna ask for broken limbs and holes through your abdomen?” The boys all growled and reached for weapons that you could not see.
The men all shifted until one stepped forward. “Well leave you. You runts aren’t worth the trouble anyway”.
The one called Felix strode forward. “Who are you calling a runt?”, he spat. He got held back by the shorter boy, and stayed put, glaring at the attackers.
Slowly, the men walked out of the circle of your protectors, and in the direction from which they came from. The one who had been holding Jeongin let him go, letting him breathe properly. The leader let the bleeding one go, and they all huddled together. The bleeding man stayed back, hesitating.
“What?”, asked the boy who had first saved you. “You want your knife back?” He twirled it in his hand. “Too bad for you. Finders keepers”.
The man leaped forward, but stopped short as the leader and four other of the older boys pulled a gun out of their back pockets and pointed them directly at the man’s head. Your chest tightened in fear. They can’t kill him! They wouldn't! But their hands were steady as they glared at the man, until he gave up and joined the rest of his group.
Once they had disappeared into the darkness, four boys, including the leader, rushed over to Jeongin.
“Dammit, idiot”, one exclaimed. “If you’re gonna leave the base at night, leave with someone else, and not on your own!” The younger boy pushed him away.
“I’m fine, Woojin Hyung! Get off!”
The leader checked him up and down. “Are you seriously hurt anywhere?”, he asked, his voice anxious, not at all resembling what you’d heard only seconds before. “Is there anything we should treat immediately?”
Again, Jeongin shoved him away. “I said I’m fine!!”, he whined. “Let me go! You wouldn’t do this to each other!”
“Thats because you’re the youngest”, replied a boy with wide eyes, and cute cheeks guess who it is I dare you
The boy who had saved you crouched in front of you. You searched for a gun, but he didn't seem to have one, because he only held the knife as he inspected you.
“Are you alright?”, he asked kindly. You didn’t trust him enough to answer. He smiled softly. “This definitely isn’t the way you thought your night was gonna go, right? If you want, we can take you back to base and treat that cut”. He pointed to your cheek. “I’m Seungmin, by the way”. He grinned cutely, making you wonder if you had just imagined the most ridiculous thing in your entire life. But no, it felt very real.
The leader walked over with Felix. You tried to shuffle away, not wanting to be anywhere near either of them. They both stopped and stared at you in confusion.
“We’re not gonna hurt you”, the leader said gently. “Trust me, we’re not what we just looked like. That’s all for show. Gotta keep up our image, ya know? Felix here is actually a real softie”. He continued in a whisper. “Especially for little Changbin”. He sniggered as Felix protested, pouting. “Oh, and my name’s Chan, by the way”.
He was interrupted by Jeongin who came running to you, looking at you with the same wide eyes, filled with concern. “Are you okay?”, he asked in a near frantic tone. “You shouldn’t have stayed, you should have run!” You noticed Chan giving Seungmin a look as you protested, speaking loudly for the first time since you were rescued.
“Like hell I was gonna run. And leave you to those assholes? Not a chance”.
He looked at you in surprise, his mouth hanging open slightly. Before he could say anything else, the boy with cute cheeks came over. “Is anyone hurt here?”, he asked with a bright tone.
“No, thanks Jisung”, replied Seungmin. “But you might want to take a look at that mark on... umm.....” he turned to you. “We don’t know your name....”
You swallowed. “I’m— I’m y/n”.
Seungmin grinned and turned back to Jisung. “You better look at the mark on y/n’s face. Don’t want an infection”.
Jisung walked up to you, making you shy away again. He gave you a cute smile, his cheeks lifting and making him slightly resemble a squirrel. He looked at your cheek, not trying to reach out, knowing it would spook you. He finally looked back at Chan. “Nothing major, but it's best if I clean it up back at base”.
You were too numb to protest, your head had started aching and fatigue washed over you like a wave. You let Jeongin pull you up and support you as you walked into the shadows.
++++++++++++
After what felt like years of walking, you arrived at an old warehouse that seemed to connect to a six-story high concrete building. There were holes in the roof, and the windows were broken. But the tallest boy ran forward a yanked the rusted doors open, to reveal a huge lit up area with tables, computers and couches spread in a random pattern.
You stared in wonder at the place. A few of the boys laughed at your reaction.
“Nice huh?”, asked the taller boy. “A bit run down, but it’s home. Welcome to District 9, owned by Stray Kids!” He gestured to the entire group proudly. Everyone started lining up, as the tall kid began introducing them.
“You already met Jeonginnie”, he said with a smirk, ruffling the kid’s hair. “Of course we have leader Hyung: Chan. Then your knight in shining armor is Seungmin”. Each of the boys gave you a wide smile, a few waving cutely when their name was mentioned. “Then more elders”. At that, the next three boys retaliated angrily. “Woojin Hyung, Changbin Hyung and Minho Hyung. Then we have our resident medic squirrel, Jisungie, our hot temper, Felix; and then there’s me: I’m Hyunjin. The brains and techie”. He gave you a huge smile, his eyes turning into little crescents.
You nodded silently, not knowing what to say. Then Jisung stepped forward. “I need to check that cut”, he said. “I’ll get it cleaned up, then we can get you something to eat. I bet you’re ready to bite someone’s arm off”. He laughed before disappearing into the shadows in the corner of the warehouse.
Jeongin started walking to you, but Seungmin stopped him. “You need to rest. I’ll take y/n to the infirmary”. The younger boy made a grimace but walked off without a word. You stared after him, confused at his attitude. Shouldn’t he be more shaken up? Then you realized that this must be an occupational hazard. Seungmin gestured for you to follow him.
++++++++++++
You walked silently trough hallways that should have lined the side of the warehouse, but it felt like you had left the real world and were walking through another dimension which stretched out forever. Fatigue made you eyelids heavy, and your feet dragged along the floor and hit the steps of staircases as you resisted the urge to ask Seungmin where you were going and how much longer your trip was going to take.
Finally, you came to a hollow doorway which opened into a room filled with old broken mattresses and tables with medical equipment strewn everywhere.
“Sorry, it doesn’t look very professional”, Seungmin said sheepishly. “We just scrounge for stuff in the trash, if no one wants it. But usually Jisung’s in charge of cleaning everything and organizing it. JISUNG HYUNG”, he yelled. His voice reverberated off the walls and carried all over the ‘base’. You stood still as stone, not knowing what to say to the boy. Seungmin turned back to you. “He should be here in a couple of minutes. In the mean time, try to find somewhere to sit. You can move stuff around if you want, just be careful not to cut yourself”. And with that he turned on his heel and left the way you had come.
You slowly walked farther into the large domed room, trying look up at the tall ceiling, but it was veiled in a dark shadow from only a few feet up from the ground. Everything was hard, cold, exposed concrete, and it closed you in completely, except for the entrance and a square hole on your right that should have been a window.
I guess the warehouse is meant to connect to this tower thing. Judging by how many staircases you climbed, you guessed that you were three to four floors up. No point in trying to climb out of the window. You were going to have to trust this group of kids.
You heard footsteps approaching, and you turned to the doorway. No one was there. You frowned, sure that you’d heard someone.
You yelped as a voice sounded above you.
“That’s not the only entrance, I’m afraid”. Ten feet up the wall opposite the entrance, hidden in darkness, was another hole in the wall. In it stood Jisung, sniggering at your reaction. He calmly walked down a short ramp and jumped down to where you were standing.
“There are passages leading anywhere and everywhere in this place”, he said with a hint of pride in his voice. “You and Seungmin took a rather long and tedious one. It took Chan, Changbin and me so long to carve and map out every tunnel. But it’s worth it. We can go wherever we want here, and quickly too”. He pulled out of his pocket some disinfectant and some tissues. “This might sting a little bit, but I doubt you’re much of a wimp, just please don’t try to punch me”. He applied the solution on your cheek delicately, intent on his job.
Curiosity nagged at you. You wanted to ask so many questions, but you knew you’d only get answers to certain ones. You decided to ask the more obvious questions.
“What is this place? And who are you guys?” You tried to keep a steady voice, but you still felt shaken up by the night’s events, and there still remained a tremor in your tone. Jisung smiled kindly.
“This is our base, our home. We’re a gang known as Stray Kids, hence our introduction earlier. He live in and compete for territories in parts of the city, against other gangs. We give off a pretty terrifying image, but in reality everyone in this group is a softy”. You thought back to how kindly Seungmin had talked to you, and when the older members swarmed around Jeongin to make sure he wasn’t hurt. Jisung seemed to read your mind. “Also, we're in no way gonna hurt you, if you’re concerned about that”, he continued. “We only like scaring other gangs for fun. Threatening innocents, that’s not our style”.
“How long have you guys been out here”, you asked before you could stop yourself.
“Depends. Chan Hyung has been here the longest. Then Changbin Hyung and I came along. We were the first three. We actually planned on calling ourselves 3RACHA until Woojin, Seungmin, Minho and Hyunjin came later. Then Felix, then Jeongin. Our little Maknae”. He seemed deep in thought. “I know he doesn’t look like the type to want to be part of a gang, but he insists on staying with us. We’re a family. He’s always trying to prove himself, but I don’t think he’ll stop trying until he gets his own gun”.
You winced at the thought of the boy getting such a dangerous weapon.
“Don’t worry, no one under eighteen in this gang is allowed a firearm”, Jisung reassured you. “Hyunjin was the last person to get one. I’m next; then Felix, even though it makes me nervous to think of that trigger happy idiot with a firearm; then Seungmin will get one; and then Jeongin next year”. You nodded slowly. Jisung gave you a cheeky grin.
“You know, I think Jeonginnie was trying to be very impressive tonight”, he stated. “I think he might have a crush on you”. You were going to retaliate, but he stopped you before you could get any words out. “I’m just making an observation! Now it’s up to you to decide if you like him”.
“Hyung!”, came the Maknae’s voice from the hallway. Soon Jeongin walked in, furrowing his eyebrows at how close Jisung was to you. “I’m here to give y/n a tour, before dinner”.
Jisung nodded and put away the disinfectant. “It was nice meeting you, y/n. I hope we can see each other again soon”. Then he leaped up, grabbing the ramp from where he’d come, he hoisted himself up, and disappeared into the dark passageway from where he’d come.
Jeongin shuffled his feet. "Umm... should we go?"
You felt heat rising in your cheeks, but you kept a blank face. "Sure. What parts of your base did you want to show me?"
+++++++++++
You both trudged through dark hallway after dark hallway, Jeongin showing you differently rooms which all held a special function, either for the entire team, or for certain individuals. You both stayed relatively quiet, only speaking when the boy gave you an explanation over a room, or when you had basic questions. After a while you started wondering about what would happen when this unreal night came to an end. You knew Jisung had reassured you, but could you really trust him?
Before you could stop yourself, the question slipped out in a frightened tone.
"What are you going to do with me at the end of this?" Jeongin glanced at you. "I mean... Am I going to have to stay here forever because I know about you? Do I have to take a vow of silence to keep your secret? Are you... Are you going to....?" You didn't even want to end the sentence. Are you going to kill me?
Jeongin seemed to realise what you were implying, and gasped, his eyes filled with horror. "You think we would hurt you?", he asked, bewildered. He shook his head. "Even if that's what the entire group voted, even if that was part of our rules, I wouldn't let them hurt you. Hell, I would fight every single one of my teammates to keep you safe, do you understand?"
You gave a small and quick nod, shocked at the boy's outburst. He also seemed to realise what he'd said, and he looked down at his feet before stuttering: "I-- I mean that I couldn't let my friend's hurt a-- an innocent", he said quietly. "That's against my morals... And.... I wouldn't want my teammates become murderers for such a useless reason..."
You swallowed hard, glad that you were in the shadow, so that he couldn't see you turning completely red. You thought of saying something, but your mind became black. Jeongin suddenly spoke, in a voice that felt a little too happy.
"I think I smell Chan's kimchi", he said, sniffing the air. "Come on, I'm sure you're dying to eat".
+++++++++++
You sat at the dented and bent table, quietly eating the hot kimchi, studying the wooden surface. There were thin lines cut into the wood, and you saw even deeper holes here and there. This table must have been stabbed repeatedly. You forced yourself not to think too much about why the table could be in such poor condition.
Jeongin sat at the end of the table on your left, also having his share of food. To your right, across from Jeongn, sat Chan and Minho, who was inspecting and polishing his gun until it shone brightly. You tried to avoid their eyes as you ate, not wanting to look at the dangerous firearm just a few feet away from you. Suddenly, Minho threw the gun down with a loud clang, making you flinch so hard, you nearly spilled your food as you leaped away from the table.
Minho have you a look. "Seriously? You still don't trust us?" He sounded irritated. "After we saved your ass, brought you to a safe place, healed you and gave you food? At least try to trust Jeongin, otherwise I think he'll never want to talk to us again for scaring you".
Jeongin slammed his hands onto the table and glared at the older boy. "Don't talk to y/n like that", he snarled. "Can you seriously blame them for being terrified? Not even two hours ago the two of us were nearly killed. That might be an everyday danger for me, but that's not a normal thing for a regular person!" He raised his voice, making Minho's eyes widen in surprise.
You winced away from his yell, holding back years. This was too much. You had nearly been killed, you were sitting in a huge abandoned building surrounded by nine dangerous boys who all carried at least a knife each, and some had guns ready to shoot at anyone who stepped out of line. All you wanted was to end this nightmare. Jeongin noticed you holding in a sob, and gently rested a hand on your shoulder.
"I'm sorry", he told you quietly. "I shouldn't have yelled. The last thing I want for you is to be scared". You nodded, trying to silently treasure him that you were okay. Chan groaned mockingly.
“Oh my Goooooood”, he laughed. “Would you two just date already? It's doing my head in watching this cat and mouse game. You’re both cute, you're both made for each other, we get it; now confess”.
You stared at Chan, then looked at Jeongin. He had his head bent down, seeming to find new interest in the sand-covered stone ground. This isn't real. This can't be real. Your head was spinning. You didn't know what to do, so the only thing you felt made sense to do was jump up from your seat, excuse yourself, and dash or of the room.
++++++++++
You didn't know where you were going, you didn't care. You just wanted to get as far away from those people as possible.
You nearly tripped in the darkness of the corridors, but you kept speeding up, sure that you could hear a voice calling you, chasing you.
Suddenly, the floor disappeared from under your feet. You screamed as you felt yourself plummet into the darkness. Suddenly a hand grabbed you firmly and halted your fall. You swung lightly in your jacket, like a cat being held by its scruff. You twisted around to look at who had caught you, letting out a strangled but relieved cry at the site of Jeongin. He grunted as he slowly pulled you up, grimacing as his arms scraped against rough stone. You managed to cling onto the end of the building, pulling yourself up with his help, and you both finally collapsed onto the floor, huffing from the effort.
After you had both regained your breath, Jeongin glared at you. “Did you really think you wouldn't hurt yourself if you didn't know where you were going?” He shook his head. “I can't believe you nearly just fell out of a window...”
You looked out at where you were sitting, and noticed that the hole in the wall actually led to outside. In the distance, past more recked buildings you could see a few flickering street lamps and hear an even more distant sound of car horns from people driving late at night. It all seemed like it was worlds away.
You started laughing, quietly at first, then louder, a childish cackle. I must be going nuts. You felt hysteria clouding your mind, but you couldn't care less. You'd survived an attack from a gang, you'd nearly just fallen out of a window! This was quite a night. Jeongin was staring at you as if he’s never seen you before in his life.
“I'm sorry I ran away like that”, you hiccuped. “I know I'm not aware of all of the paths here... Maybe you could show me more of your home so that I could memorize them”. You had no idea where your sudden burst of confidence had come from; the dangerous night must have given you a temporary high, making you invincible to fear.
Jeongin then chuckled. “If you keep getting yourself into trouble like this, I might have to, so that I know you have somewhere to hide to stay away from danger. Are you always this unlucky?”
You giggled again. “Unlucky is my middle name, pal. You’re gonna have to protect me”.
“Maybe I'll meet you every night to make sure you don't get yourself hurt”, Jeongin offered, amused.
“And we could go somewhere to eat so that no one thinks it's suspicious”, you laughed even more. You were definitely losing it. Jeongin became silent. “So... Is it a date?”
You stopped laughing and felt blood rise to your face again. “Ummm...” the boy looked away. “Yes. It's a date”.
He looked at you with surprised and bright eyes. “Really? Like really really?” He sounded like a child who had just gotten a gift.
“Really really”, you smiled.
He beamed at you. “Then I can always protect you!”
You lightly hit his shoulder. “No way! Your too young! What if you taught me to defend myself? Basic kickboxing? How to handle and throw a knife?”
Jeongin yelped. “Do you really think I would let you anywhere near a knife?!”
You both laughed again.
You talked until it started getting light out. When you left, the boys all had pouts on their faces, and immediately invited you back anytime you wanted. As you walked home in the growing daylight, you thought about what had happened tonight.
This is no normal relationship, you thought.
Then you shrugged, smiling to yourself.
But who said abnormal was bad, anyway?

[BONUS]
“Hey, y/n!”, Jisung called as you strolled through the warehouse casually. “Have you eaten today?”
You were about to answer when a dark voice sounded from a few floors up: “That’s my line, Hyung”. You looked up to see Jeongin, smiling childishly at the creepy voice he’d made. He leapt from the platform, jumped down levels of old metal trash, and ran to you, hugging you quickly. “I’m glad you came, I’ve been feeling lonely”. He stuck out his bottom lip. Since when does he act cute?
“He’s also been insufferable”, said Jisung, rolling his eyes as he walked off. Neither of you payed attention to him as you both made your way to one of the passageways.
“Hi, y/n”, came the greeting of Woojin. “Do you have time for that kickboxing lesson you mentioned?”
Jeongin steered you away, glaring at the older boy. “Y/n definitely has no time, I’m afraid”.
Seungmin crossed paths with you in the hall. “Hey, y/n! You wanna learn how to throw some knives today, like you asked?”
Jeongin huffed. “Why is everyone trying to stea my date?!” He made a face, making you laugh.
“You’re way to protective”, you said.
“No, I’m being responsible”, he replied, giggling as well.
