Yea, you're right! In this case, I don't actually know a kirin except the one in Monster Hunter again. I thought the unicorn-like design was an MH artistic deviation rather than a Japanese artistic deviation. The one I know really is qilin—head of a dragon, scaled, hooved.

I mean, Past Me used to read up on a lot of Chinese myths and stuff (because fun. And my dad was superstitious to a fault), but identifying things will be quite a challenge for "me," ahahha! I didn't have a copy of the 《山海经》 ("shan-hai-jing; classics of mountains and seas") at home, or I'd probably memorized it given the kind of kid we were.

Regardless, shoot! Before that, is it a 貔貅？Pixiu?

It looks like a lion-bodied dragon with antlers. It's very commonly seen as tiny statues or amulets due to them being commonly used to ward off bad feng shui, so I thought the probability of it being a pixiu may be high enough... even without looking at the picture yet!

People who's been to China and their jade stores or something usually bring home a pixiu if they didn't pick a qilin!

You know there are different kinds of mythological dragons (and dragon-like creatures), right? There are wyrms, Western dragons, Asian dragons, naga, kirins, etc.

What are your top 5 favorites?

(also do you know in Chinese there is more than just ONE type of dragon? The 龙 is just the most famous one. There are actually 9 more dragon types, all characterized as its "children." (龙生九子，各有不同; "The nine sons of the dragons all have their own specialties.")

I'm gonna have to put these in a non-specific order because I'd really be here all day if I tried to figure out which dragon type I loved more. dragons are special and equal creatures in my heart ❤️

the classic western dragon

I actually wouldn't call this one my favorite, but it depends on their depiction. I find that western dragons are cool simply for their flexibility and variety. absolutely anything can be a western dragon if you try hard enough‼️ they're so varied though that it's hard to make strong statements about them, I could criticize them for their lack of grace in favor of cool factor, but that wouldn't apply well at all to every depiction

the lóng or ryū

I looove these guys, though I don't have a preference between Chinese or Japanese dragons (though- having been born in China, I guess I do lean more towards that side)

they're very graceful interesting looking designs. it's really hard to go wrong with these guys in any medium.

the phaya naga

shhhh don't tell anyone, but this might actually be my favorite. I didn't even know about their existence before I visited thailand, but oh my are they absolutely stunning, especially in all the huge sculptures around temples and such. their intricate horn is so entrancing. I really wish these guys were more popular, everybody's sleeping on the nagas

the qilin

you mentioned kirins, and as much as I love those (they bridge the gap between unicorns and dragons very nicely) I raise you one better: the qilin. weirdly underated and unpopular. but I just think they're neat, they lean slightly more dragon than a kirin does.

the amphithere

here I'm talking about like, Quetzalcoatl when depicted as a feathered serpent rather than its human-like design. I think I just have a preference for dragons with a very serpentine grace to them, though I have a love for wings as well, so this satisfies both

Met the Vogue cult members for a short min♥️ I’m very lucky to have met such genuine, kind-hearted, supportive and fun colleagues-turned-to-friends in my career. This crowd has kept me going for days and made work life bearable. I have learnt so much from them… like SO much! As a group, I think we can even be a sitcom lol. Everyone has different personalities, strengths and perspectives on things, so my mind is constantly running with them but in a good way ♥️ Dom has the most charming personality ever. Looks like a sweet cinnamon bun but has quite a spicy sense of humour. We are also very similar which I adoreee😭; Jason’s always the life of the party, and I LOVE his hot takes and style reports. He’s also endearingly honest and sweet; Mira to me is our queen bookworm bee~ she is super likeable, smart, funny and has the most optimistic mindset ever; Sid is everyone’s fave elevated-y2k rep. She’s sentimental, romantic (I love this so much) and matches your energy thoughtfully, which makes ppl so comfortable to be around her; and of course Nicole….she is undoubtedly my number one black cat lady and my Olsen twin— trustworthy, reliable, amazing taste, and deep down a huge softie who just understands people (and me) easily…even though she doesn’t want to show it. You and Aone have known each-other since highschool, it has currently been 4 years.

During your highschool years you managed the Date Tech Boys volleyball team which explains why you were close friends with Aone

You’re a successful Architect and Aone works for a construction company building one of the buildings you designed.

Aone had liked you since the day you re-appeared in his life and spoke to him as if you never left.

He finally gained the courage to ask you out and you accepted because you lowkey had feelings for him to.

Your feelings for him started when he treated you as if you were a normal person and not someone who had a lot of money. He would still pay for your lunch whenever you ate out, he would still buy you flowers and he would still buy you coffee if you were ever stressed.

You didn’t have a lot of friends because how they would only ask you out to hang if they wanted you to pay for it, which you caught on to and kicked those (those useless mf) people to the curb.

Aone doesn’t really express his emotions and you're absolutely fine with it but sometimes bottling up those emotions is not good for a relationship.

You were giving the businessmen who were interested in buying your building a tour of what still needed to be done and happened to go past Aone’s work station.

“If you look over there you’ll see that the elevator is still in progress” you pointed out for the businessmen but just as you were about to continue walking one of the businessmen put his hand on your right buttcheek and gave it a firm squeeze which Aone happen to see “Um excuse me sir get you-” you were about to say but your boyfriend had already grabbed him by the collar and had him hanging off the ground “What do you think your doing?” the businessman said, Aone didn’t reply he was just breathing heavily down the businessman’s neck “Aone, baby, that’s enough okay? I’m fine” you reassure your boyfriend “No your not. He touched you” Aone said sternly, you cupped Aone’s face and turned him to look at you “Look baby, i’m really okay” “Plus if you would’ve come any later, i would’ve beat his ass” you say clenching your jaw turning to look at the businessman, Aone lets out a sigh and nods his head, letting the businessman go “What a pity, such a beautiful face paired with such a horrendous monster” the businessman told you, (omg i wish a dude would disrespect Aone in front of me) you slowly raised your hand into the air and slapped his face into next week Thursday “How dare you speak about my partner like that” you said dangerously “May I remind you that this is MY building and you just insulted MY partner, if you don’t leave right now i will throw you out myself” you said to the businessman with clenched fists “Pfft like I wanted a building designed by a women who clearly knows nothing and should just stay in the kitchen” the businessman laughed “I think the fuck no-” you were about to throw your hands but a strong arm had been wrapped around your waist holding you back “But Aone he sai-” “No” Aone replied “Fine” you huffed out annoyed “Leave. now.” Aone said before the businessman left smirking. At 6pm, you and Aone had finished work, you had both agreed to spend the night at Aone’s apartment “Baby what are we gonna have for dinner?” you say to your boyfriend coming out of the bathroom from his shower, he just shrugs his shoulders and continues to dry his hair “Um mister where are you going? Your girlfriend is starving” you go to grab his shoulder but he gently pushes your hand off and continues to walk into his bedroom with you following behind “Baby? Are you okay?” you ask as he sits on the bed and he just grunts “You know you can talk to me?” you say as you sit next to him but he moves away, you continue to move closer to him when he moves away “STOP!” he yells “Time alone” he continues “Oh…… okay, i’m sorry” you say and leaving the room, you sit on the couch facing the blank Tv thinking of all the things you could’ve done wrong but in his room Aone kept replaying what that businessman had said “What a pity, such a beautiful face paired with such a horrendous monster” he wondered if that was how you saw him as well and wanted to distance you from him, he may seem emotionless even though this man was far from it. Aone got so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t notice the time 12:15am, he walked to the living room to find you sleeping on the couch in a crouching position as if you were waiting for him even though he asked for space, he let out a sigh along with a small smile, he leaned down and moved the stray hairs and placed a kiss on both your cheeks and forehead, by the time he pulled away from your forehead you had woken up and looked at him with eyes full of sadness and tears “I’m sorry Aone” “You did nothing” he said while caressing your cheek “I made you sad, am i being too clingy?” you ask your boyfriend “ Of course not” he smiled “Then wha-” “I had what that businessman said about our relationship stuck in my head” he looked down embarrassed retreating his hand from your cheek down to his side “Ngawww baby the fact that you believed him in the first place breaks my heart” you catch his retreating hand and kiss his knuckles “I promise you that you are not a monster” you continue to kiss up his arm reaching his shoulder “Matter of fact your a teddy bear” you kiss his collarbones through his t-shirt and up his neck “my teddy bear” you leave kisses along his jaw and finally reaching his lips engaging in a passionate kiss, you FINALLY pull away leaving a thin string of saliva still connecting the both of you “Does that show you how much you mean to me?” you say huffing and puffing “No” Aone says bluntly “What do you mean ‘no’?” you say furrowing your eyebrows “Need more” he says with pink cheeks “Aone, baby your gonna have to tell me what you mea-” before finishing off your sentence Aone had thrown you over his shoulder, you let out a high pitched ‘EEK’ “I will show you now” his says while walking to the bedroom “Oh lord Asahi it’s me again” you say as your boyfriend places you on the bed and hovers over you “I didn’t mean it” Aone lets out while hovering over you “Huh?” “Pushing you away when it wasn’t your fault” he said and you were in such awe of how caring this man on top of you was “Baby it’s really okay” “Are you sur-” this time your turn to cut him off by pulling him down by the collar to kiss you deeply, which he did, along with a whole lotta other things.

henlo!! so after tons and tons of schoolwork, I finally had the time to answer this request. I'm super sorry for taking so long :( 

this was honestly super fun to write, I tried my best to include other characters in there too! ( bokuto and kenma hehe )

He’s never really focused on anyone, ( in a romantic way ) nor did he ever tried impressing anyone

But when he first met you, oh boy it all changed in a blink of an eye

At first he thought he was having a fever or was falling ill

“Why does my heart race so much all of the sudden when I’m near s/o? Why am I stuttering so much when talking to them? I was doing well just now.”

“Bokuto what have you done to me—“

When he told Bokuto about this, he told him that he’s fallen for you. But being the guy that has never fallen for anyone, he didn’t believe him

He never trusted Bokuto anyway and he doesn’t even know why he told him about his conditions and stuff what the hECK

You have no idea how much research and quizzes this boy did online just to find out why he’s like that. But after getting loads of results that were the same, he came to the conclusion that yes, he has a crush on you

“For once Bokuto actually got something right!”

At first, he was super duper timid to talk to you since he didn’t know how this whole ‘crush’ thing worked. But after doing some research on how to get closer to your crush, he was slightly more confident than before!

Would have a small grin whenever he talked to you. It was shocking, since he wasn’t the type to smile that much

Would occasionally buy you snacks or beverages and either directly give them to you or leave it on your desk

Remember everything you like and dislike: from food to music; beverages and basically everything else. 

Occasionally walks you home like a gentleman

Whenever the both of you crossed paths, Bokuto would either nudge him closer to you or giggle teasingly. ( this owl once pushed Akaashi forcefully towards you and ended up getting smacked multiple times )

oh and bokuto told everyone in the team that Akaashi had a crush on you what a snitch

After getting smacked for being a snitch and loud-mouth multiple times, he still didn’t learn his lesson. How, you ask? He snitched and told you that his buddy had a crush on you

The next day, Akaashi finally mustered the courage to confess. After school, he ‘walked home’ with you, but brought you to a nearby part instead

“This is going to be really weird, and I’m fine if you don’t feel the same but—“

“I like you too.”

THIS BOY TURNED INTO A HUGE BLUSHING MESS AND KEPT ASKING HOW’D YOU KNOW WHAT HE WAS GONNA SAY ( you totally did not rat Bokuto out ohoho )

You agreed to go out with him and oH mY loRd he had the biggest, happiest smile you’ve ever seen ( while blushing insanely at the same time!! )

The next day, he was still pretty timid but initiated on holding your hand  ( nGAWWW )

oh and he tried murdering bokuto but that’s another story for another day

He’s had a few crushes back then. But when he fell for you, he knew it was way different this time

You managed to capture his attention no matter what, even the smallest actions could make his heart beat even faster — copying down notes, reading a book, sleeping in class; he just fell for it all

Y’all were already pretty close, since you both are equally crackheaded and share the same interests :D

You were good friends with the volleyball team, so you’d often watch them practise. You’d always try to help out as much as possible: buying snacks, giving some tips, finding out some info about their opponents in upcoming matches etc. Whenever you contributed or helped the team, this boy would fall for you even harder

Loves hearing your laughter because it just brightens his day 

Always talking to Kenma about how beautiful and amazing you are.

Would find opportunities to talk to you or just see you as such as possible because he just loves you so much and he’s fallen hard. Like,, real hard

One fine day, you, Kuroo and Kenma were hanging out while playing truth or dare ( Kenma was obviously forced into this )

Apparently Kenma wasn’t having a good day, so when Kuroo kept disturbing him from his down time ( aka gaming time ) he got pretty pissed. So he decided to get a little revenge

“Kuroo, truth or dare?”

“Dare! Come at me with whatever you’ve got!”

“I dare you to confess to your crush.”

Kuroo? Blushing. Heart? Thudding intensely. Hotel? Trivago.

He was known for being a really brave guy, so you didn’t expect him to turn out like this. But woAH YOU WERE WRONG

Stuttering, he shyly murmured that he has a crush on you, and the feeling’s mutual for you too!

After you agreed to be his girlfriend/boyfriend, he was smiling like insaneee!

Really big, cheeky grin from ear to ear along with a fit of laughter and light blush across his cheeks ( what a cutie uwu )

“Thank you for accepting him, s/o.” Kenma sighed, not looking away form his device. “Now I can finally play games in peace."
