Petals of Moonlight
Part two of the series of short stories about Brash from the perspectives of her older brothers!
This one is from the perspective of Tesur; the closest in age to Brash, only being around a year older, and going to the same academy at the same time, they had the best relationship out of the siblings. While he did occasionally get caught in the crossfire of fights between his little sister and his eldest brother, Ashk/Leth, he never blamed it on Pixie (the name Brash's family calls her by).
Enjoy!!

Summary: Tesur hears a strange noise and goes to investigate only to find his sister, resigned to escape the life forced upon her.
cw: angst, crying, gifted kid burnout, broken sibling relationships
----------
I heard a quiet clang from outside my window. It was subsequently followed by sobs I was never meant to hear. Sometimes I wish I never did hear them.
I wrapped myself up in a warm robe, silently exiting my room and traversing the hallways and stairs to a couple floors below. Gently, I tapped on a familiar door.
It opened to reveal the face of my younger sister. She had a soft, empty expression with reddened eyes. She said nothing, only stepping away to go back to the bag that laid on her bed. "Pixie…?" I whispered as I gingerly shut the door behind me.
She gave no reply. She simply stared into her bag and slowly packed an article of clothing that was sprawled out on her bedsheets every few seconds. I repeated myself. Finally, she looked over and mumbled, "What?"
"What are you doing?" I approached and stood beside her for a moment before sitting on the mattress to face her.
Not looking up to meet my eyes, she said, "I'm leaving…"
"Leaving? Where are you going?" A vague feeling of dread began to wash over me slowly but steadily.
"I don't know, just not here…"
"But why? Why are you leaving?"
"Because I'm sick of it all! I hate this school, and I hate everything about being here!" She raised her voice somewhat, but she still made sure to not be loud enough to hear beyond the walls of her room.
I pleaded, "But you're doing amazing at this school. You've been the top of your class, you're on a track to graduate early, you've been so successful-"
"But what does that actually mean?" Her eyes raised to reveal glistening crystal petals falling down her cheeks. "I don't want to just have good grades and be just another 'good sorcerer.' People don't care about me, they don't care about who I am, they only care about worthless 'accomplishments!' No one really cares! Nothing means anything anymore!" She choked out, "And for once I just want someone to want me to be happy, not to be successful…"
I saw the pain in her eyes, but I knew full well the crestfallen look I wore myself. I knew how hard going to school had been, I knew how hard our older brother was on her; and yet I felt somewhat betrayed. The disappointment ate away at me as I realized I was yet another person who failed to understand her. In many ways, she was a ray of hope for me, a beacon that always burned bright and persevered no matter what happened. But that was never what she wanted.
If she was a light for others, then who was a lantern for her?
Pixie turned her head away and pulled her bag away from me. She finished packing in silence. After everything she needed was stuffed into her backpack, she stepped to the window. She took one final glance back at me, seeming to calculate what to say.
"I'm sorry…" I spoke. "Please, be safe out there… Take care of yourself… I'll always be here if you ever need me."
Her gaze lowered and she gave a small nod. The cool night breeze whisked through the window, and she was gone.
I sat for many moments before putting my head in my hands. As drops of moonlight fell from my eyes, one thought occupied my mind: I wish I would have done more.

The Realm of Nexuntor (Lemurz Masterlist)
The Realm of Nexuntor takes place in, well, the Realm of Nexuntor. The party came together at the Colvinwrest Ball, a ball that opened its doors to all, from nobles to commonfolk, at the castle of the king of Derval-Ovlion.
The unlikely group consisted of an odd collection of characters: Angano Verona, "The Sun," the mycanthrope druid; Brash, "The Drunken Preacher," the bronze dragonborn sorcerer; Zoë Vitali, "The Builder," the tabaxi monk; Erdyrm Temlakos, "The Weaver," the aasimar cleric; Barnad, "The Onlooker," the earth genasi rogue; and Silas Everhardt, "The Companion," the human fighter. Angie would later leave the group; not long after did the group gain a new member: Yakaria Floros, the part-tiefling, part-avian bard.
Each was (unknowingly) assigned a title corresponding to those of a group of presumed heroes of the past known as the Silver Syndicate.
After the near massacre at the Colvinwrest Ball, the group flees together, later being framed for the murder of the king. While on the run from the law and powers unknown to them, they discover the secrets of Nexuntor, the Feywild War, and tiyh sickness, being saddled with the fate of the realms.
