The Week Live Presented By The Lincoln Motor Company
In an initiative to bring awareness to The Week magazine and a sense of appreciation to their loyal subscribers, we worked with the publication to create The Week Live, a series of events that allowed attendees to experience some of the exciting people and activities that New York City has to offer. Another main goal of these events was to bring awareness to The Week’s presenting sponsor, The Lincoln Motor Company which we did through tasteful branding at all of the events and a car display outside of three of the four venues.

The series took place over the course of a week and included the following four events:
1. Wylie Dufresne Cooking Experience
The first event of the week took place at the Seaport Food Lab with chef and former owner of wd~50 and Adler restaurants, Wylie Dufresne. The chef treated guests to a multi-course cooking experience featuring his molecular gastronomy food techniques which incorporates science and flair into the preparation and presentation of the food. In addition to the delicious and innovative food, guests enjoyed a brief chat with representatives from The Week and the chef himself who also spent a great deal of time mingling with all of those in attendance.

2. “Only The Brave” Advance Screening
The series then continued with an advance screening of the Sony film “Only The Brave” days before it was officially released in theaters across the country. This took place at the iPic theater in the Seaport District, a luxury theater chain that is known for its reclining chairs and in-theater food and beverage service. The event kicked off with a cocktail hour followed by a brief Q & A and intro from Ben Frumin, Editor and Jeva Lange, Staff Writer at The Week before the screening began. Guests enjoyed the luxury experience and left positively impacted by the film’s content as well as the experience as a whole.

3. Jean-Pierre Laffont Book Signing
The third event of the week took place in the historic Melville Gallery, a beautiful venue in the Seaport District with exposed brick and wood-beamed ceilings which provided an authentic setting for the event. Photographer and photo-journalist, Jean-Pierre Laffont and his wife, Eliane Laffont were the guests of honor at this book signing. They were there to debut their new book, “New York Up and Down” which features photographs of historic moments in New York City over the past fifty years. The husband-wife duo led a compelling Q & A where they walked guests through some of their highlighted photographs, many of which were featured on easels around the perimeter of the venue. Guest’s left with their own customized signed copy of the book as well as a customized illustration of themselves on the iconic cover of The Week magazine.

4. The Lion King VIP Experience
The final event of the week took fans out of the Seaport District and brought them into the heart of Times Square. The event series culminated with a VIP Lion King experience to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary on Broadway. Fans were invited to attend a special performance of the show at the Minskoff Theater. The performance was followed by a Q & A with none other than the cast of the Lion King themselves. As a bonus, ten lucky attendees were even brought backstage to receive a unique VIP backstage tour of the theater. All attendees left with their very own signed show poster and Lion King tote bag to commemorate the experience.
