In 1994, the #Broadwaymusical #RENT started its revolutionary production with a three week limited run workshop here at #NewYorkTheatreWorkshop. (I would have tried to go in, but they were working on a load in or out and I really didn't want to interrupt, so here is a #creepershot of the cool interior) * The show was #groundbreaking in so many ways, but the one I am personally most thankful for is making the lotto/rush system a thing that is now used by most #Broadway productions, allowing tickets to be available at a much lower price point for people who can't afford the sometimes staggeringly high-priced theatre tickets usually sold. * PS If you're a fan of #RENTthemusical, I highly recommend treating yourself to a listen of the painfully awful precursor to #OneSongGlory, "Right Brain" and marveling at what could have been and almost was.
