In honor of the first day of Women's History Month and with Operation #BroadwayBod in full effect, I added one of my favorite songs from #Hamilton to the background of this short clip from the end of my workout today. ______________________________________ Today is Day 10 of the #Whole30 and I have A LOT more energy than I did last week. I also had a tall plain black coffee before this workout to get my energy up. It tasted like dirt lol, but it definitely gave me the boost I needed after a long day. ______________________________________Today was one of my favorite days - LEG DAY! I burned over 1,000 calories during my workout this evening. Here's my workout if you'd like to give it a try: LEG DAY WORKOUT - Warm up on the stepper for 5 min 200 Jump Ropes 20 air squats plus stretching Triset | 4 sets (2 warm up sets first) Squats (10 reps) Straight Leg Deadlift (10 reps) Box Jumps (10 reps) Variety DB exercise of choice (10 reps) (lunges, bicep curls, shoulder press, etc) Triset | 4 sets Leg Extension (10 reps) Hamstring Curl (10 reps) Obliques with Kettlebell (12 reps each side) Triset | 3 sets Abductor (15 reps) Abductor (15 reps) Squats with Kettlebell (10 reps) Superset | 4 sets (Glute Exercises) Cable pull throughs (10 reps) ISO step down on assisted pull up machine Exercises in video I did randomly for various amounts to time to get to my goal of burning over 1,000 calories plus a good cool down. Now it's time for a shower and beddy bye Kai goes 😴 P.S. I was extremely sweaty today. At the doctor's office again...getting ready for this nebulizer treatment. This cough has got to go! For those of you that didn't see my latest posts, I've been coughing since I was sick in December 😷 Please continue to keep me in your prayers 🙏🏽 ______________________________________ I've been to the doctor several times and have been prescribed a variety of medicines and to date, nothing has worked. Chest X-Rays have come back clear. My lungs are looking good and clear. No signs of flu or pneumonia which I'm very thankful for 🙌🏽 ______________________________________ On a completely different note, I decided to go with a fro today. I didn't have it in me to twist my hair last night. How much y'all wanna bet that I'm going to get lots of stares and questions from my co-workers? I haven't worn a fro to work in a couple of years. In honor of #transformationtuesday, here's a quick flashback to my first transformation photo. In the photo on the left, I literally put the phone in front of my face because I wanted to be invisible. I didn't want to take that picture. I didn't want to be where I was. I couldn't stand by body and at that point I was far from active. ______________________________________ I'd be lying if I said I'm happy with my current physique (which is not the picture on the right by the way. The picture on the right was taken some months ago, but I'm roughly the same weight/physique now that I was then). I literally just left the gym frustrated because I'm getting bored with my workout split. ______________________________________ The truth is I'm no where near close to where I'm aiming to ultimately be in terms of my physique and physical ability, however, I'm definitely not where I started. #flashbackfriday to all of the headshots I've used since the start of my acting career in 2015. ____________________________________ When I first dived into the world of headshots, this was definitely not my favorite activity. I was extremely critical of myself and would have literal meltdowns if my photos didn't come out exactly how I envisioned. ______________________________________ After completing several photo shoots, now I know what it takes to get the photos I'm looking for. It takes several things, however, two keys things are 1) confidence in myself and 2) confidence in my photographer. ______________________________________ The last few photo shoots I've had have been very positive, especially my most recent shoot with @roycoxstudio ☺ Roy, I can't tell you how many messages I receive regularly about my photos and who took them.
