Top 2 Teams to Emerge as Qualifiers from Group A In ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022
The ICC T20 World Cup is one of the most-watched international ICC tournaments, drawing millions of cricket fans. Because of its fast-paced, action-packed, short-duration nature, many Fantasy Cricket fans enjoy this game format. After months of anticipation, the 2022 T20 World Cup kicked off this week.
The T20 World Cup in 2022 has already produced some memorable moments. Namibia's upset of Sri Lanka was the highlight of Group A, as was UAE leg-spinner Karthik Meiyappan's magnificent hat-trick against the Asia Cup champions.
With all teams having played two matches, it is still unclear which two teams will advance to the Super 12s.
Scenarios for Group A Qualification: Who will succeed in making the Super 12s?
● Netherlands
★ 4 points
★ Net Run Rate: +0.149
★ Final Match-Sri Lanka
The Netherlands moved into first place after a thrilling win over Namibia on Tuesday. They pulled off a similar run chase against the UAE two days earlier, reaching the modest target of 112 in the 20th over.
The Dutch bowled beautifully and held their nerve in crucial moments. However, even though they are at the top, their qualification is far from certain. Sri Lanka now has a higher net run rate than Scott Edwards' team following their dominant win over the UAE. As a result, any defeat against Sri Lanka will leave the Dutch relying on the UAE to defeat Namibia.
If they win, they will finish first in their group and advance to Group 1, which currently includes Australia, New Zealand, England, and Afghanistan.
● Namibia
★ 2 points
★ Net Run Rate: +1.277
★ Final Match: UAE
Namibia suffered a heartbreaking defeat against the Netherlands, especially considering David Wiese and JJ Smit batted only nine balls between them. Despite the loss, Gerhard Erasmus' team is still in good shape to qualify due to their high net run rate. The equation is straightforward: beat UAE by any means necessary.
The earlier game features Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. If both Sri Lanka and Namibia win, they will advance on net run rate because they are already ahead of the Netherlands' +0.149. Who finishes first or second is also determined by the net run rate. Sri Lanka will be eliminated if the Netherlands and Namibia win.
● Sri-Lanka
★ 2 points
★ Net Run Rate: +0.600
★ Final Match: Netherlands
After a hiccup against Namibia, Sri Lanka now controls their destiny. They will qualify for the Super 12s if they defeat the Netherlands. Which group they end up in is determined by the margin of victory, as well as Namibia's performance against the UAE. If they lose, they will need UAE to beat Namibia by a large margin to qualify by miracle.
● United Arab Emirates (UAE)
★ 0 points
★ Net Run Rate: -2.028
★ Final Match: Namibia
UAE can still qualify mathematically. But they require a miracle. First, the Netherlands must defeat Sri Lanka. Second, they must thrash Namibia by a massive margin to reverse their net run rate of -2.028 versus the African nation's much superior +1.277.
Our Verdict
Sri Lanka has not yet qualified for the Super 12 round. The results of the remaining matches will determine which team advances to the next round. To advance to the Super 12s of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Sri Lanka must win its respective game against the Netherlands.
The Super 12 stage kicks off on Saturday with Australia vs. New Zealand at the SCG, followed by England vs. Afghanistan in Perth.

Britain crushed Australia in the last in Barbados, which was played at Kensington Oval, winning their most memorable worldwide competition. The fourth competition, the 2012 World Twenty20, was held in Asia interestingly, with all matches played in Sri Lanka. The West Indies won the competition by overcoming Sri Lanka in the last, winning its most memorable global competition since the 2004 Champions Trophy.[8] The fifth competition, the 2014 ICC World Twenty20, was facilitated by Bangladesh, and was won by Sri Lanka overcoming India, Sri Lanka being the first group to play in quite a while. The 6th competition, the 2016 ICC World Twenty20, was facilitated by India and was won by West Indies overcoming England. Australia are the ongoing T20 World Cup holders, having beaten New Zealand in the 2021 last, bringing home their most memorable championship.
Not long after with the reception of Twenty20 matches by other cricket sheets, the prevalence of the arrangement developed with startling group participation, new homegrown competitions, for example, Pakistan’s Faysal Bank T20 Cup and Stanford 20/20 competition, and the monetary motivation in the format.
Hope this year going to be the best for team India!

Desperate India Massacre Scotland
T20 World Cup - Super 12 - Group 2 Match - India vs Scotland - Dubai
The T20 World Cup produced yet another one-sided match as a desperate India team massacred underdog Scotland to win their group 2 game in just 6.3 overs chasing an 86-run target in Dubai on Friday night.
Opener KL Rahul hit the fastest 50 of the tournament in just 18 balls as India also posted the 50-run total in only 3.5 overs as Scotland could only go through the motions of defending their losing score of 85 made in 17.4 overs.
In destroying Scotland, Suriyakumar Yadav finished off the match by clouting a straight six against a ball from Chris Greaves after Rahul and Rohit Sharma posted an opening stand of 70 in five overs.
Rahul slammed six fours and three sixes while Sharma made 30 in 16 balls with five fours and a six as Scotland used up five bowlers to put in 6.3 overs.
Earlier Scotland put into bat after losing the toss, could not make any substantial headway against some clinical bowling by the pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami who accounted for five wickets while left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja grabbed three wickets.
At one stage in the 17th over bowled by Shami, Scotland lost three wickets in three balls that included a run-out that meant reaching a total of 100 was out of the question.
Although India won and improved on their run-rate, they are still behind New Zealand by two points and must win their last match against Namibia on November 8 and hope that New Zealand lose their last group match against Afghanistan on Sunday to qualify for the semi finals along with Pakistan.
Scores: Scotland 85 (George Munsey 24, Michael Leask 21, Jasprit Bumrah 2 for 10, Mohammed Shami 3 for 15, Rohit Sharma 3 for 15) India 89 for 2 in 6.3 overs (Rohit Sharma 30, KL Rahul 50)

New Zealand Tame India With Easiest Of Wins
T20 World Cup - Super 12 -Group 2 Match New Zealand vs India
New Zealand unexpectedly pulled off the easiest of wins over pre-tournament favourites India after restricting them to 110 for 7 to win their group B T20 World Cup match by eight wickets in Dubai on Sunday night.
Nothing worked for India right from the start of their innings when their gamble to open the batting with Ishan Kishan in place of the regular Rohit Sharma back-fired wholesale that resulted in them losing three wickets for the addition of just 48 runs in the first 10 overs.
Kishan was dismissed caught in the outfield after using up eight balls to make just fours runs in the fifth ball of the third over and his opening partner KL Rahul could not go beyond a score of 18.
Sharma was given a life in the first ball he faced when he was dropped at fine- leg but had no escape a second time when Martin Guptill held on to a catch with his score on 14 as India lost three wickets for 40 runs in 7.4 overs.
But more disaster was to strike India when Virat Kohli was caught by Trent Boult on the boundary with his score on 9 attempting to hoist spinner Ish Sodhi out of the ground.
Kohli's exit in the 11th over spelt doom for India as wickets kept tumbling with Rishabh Pant dismissed for 12 and Hardik Pandya sent back for 23 with only Ravindra Jadeja taking them past the 100-run mark with an unbeaten 26.
New Zealand opener Daryl Mitchell (49) and skipper Kane Williamson (33 not out) kept India at bay in pursuit of the target with a partnership of 72 runs for the second wicket after Guptill (20) fell with the total at 24.
India also having lost to Pakistan in their group match will find it very difficult to qualify for a place in the semi finals unless they win their last remaining matches against Namibia, Scotland and Afghanistan with big margins while hoping that New Zealand will also lose a match or two in their three remaining matches.
Scores: India 110 for 7 in 20 overs (Hardik Pandya 23, Ravindra Jadeja 26 not out, Trent Boult 3 for 20, Ish Sodhi 2 for 17) New Zealand 111 for 2 in 14.3 overs (Martin Guptill 20, Daryl Mitchell 49, Kane Williamson 33 not out, Jasprit Bumrah 2 for 19)
